Saber, King Arthur Herself

Those pictures... yes, Saber was quite certain that this was what they were solving. At least, it seemed like a logical possibility. Saber glanced towards the others, facing Shotaro and Satori. Indeed, it was likely that they would face some difficulties in locating them. However... The blonde armored girl stepped forward. She could, at the very least, put forward a possible option herself, could she not? It only made sense.

"I am capable of moving very quickly," she proposed, "As there does not appear to be anything in place here to disguise the uncommon, I could cover as much of the city as I could in order to locate any potential evidence."

She paused for a moment, considering her own proposal. Glancing around the city, the King of Knights swiftly realized a potential issue with her plan.

"... However, given how unusual this city is," she continued, "I cannot say it will be easy to recognize evidence of a disappearance. Perhaps we should locate their homes?"

She paused for a moment, realizing that someone new had arrived, turning to face her. Saber nodded her head to the girl, slightly, and decided to introduce herself once more.

And paused dor a moment once more. No. She did not need to introduce herself under her class any longer, did she?

"... I have been summoned into the class of Saber," she began, "But I am Arturia Pendragon, King of Britain."

Tachibana Hibiki, Holding Determination in Her Fist

Just as the creature launched at her, Hibiki put on another burst of speed. The rocket booster on the back of her gauntlet flared and the roar grew in volume, and her fist hit something hard, slamming directly into the blobby thing's mask even as it had attempted to move into her! She wasn't exactly sure what it had been trying to do, but she'd hit it, and hit it hard! She continued onwards, directly to the nearest wall, the creature plastered against her fist as she did!

... Someone new had shown up, but it was hard to pay attention when you were careening through the air with a blob monster on your hand.

Akuma, Supreme Master of the Fist
- 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi

The fop's response was almost pitiful, at least in Akuma's mind. They had declared their intent to flee the field of battle; moreover, they seemed to rely upon an oversized doll to fight for them. Yet the man brimmed with hubris, every utterance laden with pretension. To Akuma, a man who'd achieved greatness by honing his natural abilities, this self-important craven could only serve to fill him with disgust. Before ending his life, the warrior resolved to first humble him.

"Tall talk for one so gutless. Should the strength of your tawdry toy be tantamount to your ego, perhaps you might pose a challenge."

At first, Akuma seemingly moved to assume a fighting stance. Yet, with a sudden motion, the martial artist catapulted skyward, flipping towards the man known as Relius Clover. At the peak of his ascent, Akuma cupped one of his palms and immediately thrusted it forward. As if on command, an orb of purple energy surged forth from the warrior's hands and began rocketing towards the doll.

This simple technique allowed one to project the force of one's fist over a long distance, expelled in the form of raw energy. To put it in simple terms, the user becomes capable of shooting punches. Its name is as follows:

"Zanku Hadoken!"

Hellsalem's Lot- Questions and More Questions.

Satori turned to face the new arrival, acknowledging her appearance with a barely noticeable glance and a nod of her head before turning to look back at Saber as she spoke. While that argument was sound in theory...

"I would think that if a person was to go missing, their houses would be the first place they'd check. Regardless, I don't think we even have that much information, given how all we saw were their pictures. We were given as vague a hint as any, but we're still expected to go find them?"

The youkai sighed, shaking her head in disapproval. Of course this wouldn't have been easy; if it was, then that Administrator woman would probably have resolved it by now.

"Maybe we should start by getting acquainted with the town or something of the sort for the moment. We do have the money, and I believe gossip spreads quickly in populated areas."

That last comment was less a suggestion and more of a statement; Satori knew far too well how often the oni would go to town and speak their minds endlessly. She didn't like it very much, but it happened often enough for news of it to come to her home every so often.

"What say you?"

KOTOHA ISONE, saving the universe question mark!

She returns Arturia's gesture with a light smile and then turned to the Satori.

"So we're trying to find people? in..."

She pauses to take another look at the non-human population of the city.

"New York that's a lot more diverse than what my world's version of it is..."

She turned to Shotaro, with a more serious look on her face.

"And are we sure that this will actually help us in like fixing the universe or multi-verse in this case?"

Like wuuht..., I pray to whatever diety is listening in this realm that my companions have not just turned themselves into errand boys and girls for the locals... Please let that not be the case...

The sword sailed past Arakune and turned into a fiery ribbon that snaked its way back towards its wielder, wrapping itself once more in her hand before enlarging back into the form of a longsword. Still, the girl found herself in a predicament as the dark blob was now much too close to the other girl for her to do anything about. "Damn..." A murmured curse escaped out of her mouth as she edged her way towards the entwined individuals, weapon at the ready to strike out as soon as she saw an opportunity arose, eyes staring steadily at the scene to wait and find out if there was a way to get out of this literally sticky situation.

Well, I mean, it’s technically not New York anymore, so by all rights it should be free to finally sleep, right? - Shotaro and Philip

”I’d say we should check their homes too, but they probably did cover that ground already,” Shotaro agreed, ”Not to mention they really didn’t give us anything more to work off of… I could try calling them, but I don’t wanna push our good fortune too fast. He actually looked like he was in a hurry now, so I don’t want to call too soon.” He felt for the phone he pocketed, contemplating whether they should just use it or leave it be.

And then the new Kotoha girl questioned the usefulness of their new jobs. Well. She did have a point in asking about it, so Shotaro just gave it to her straight. ”We don’t got a clue if we’re on the right trail pulling this job, but it’s not like we have any other leads to work with.” He shrugged and folded his arms again as Philip caught up to everyone.

”So I take it we’re searching for somebody?” he asked, seeming to have heard only the bit Kotone asked Shotaro about, "”Shall I make a search in the Gaia Library? Ah- no wait,” he paused, considering it for a moment, ”Would it even work in regards to the world we’re in?” he pondered out loud.

”Make a search anyway so we can find some place,” Shotaro told him, ”If this New York is like ours, most of the locations should be the same, right?”

”That doesn’t sound too unreasonable.” Philip shrugged his shoulders and held one of his arms out, the other holding his book up near his chest. He then closed his eyes as he accessed the shifting shelves within his mind. ”What am I going to be searching for? Preferably in keyword form, for the uninformed.”

"Search for..." Shotaro trailed off as Saber's introduction finally sunk in for him and he turned look at her curiously. "Wait, hold on. Did you say "King of Britain?""

Philip opened one of his eyes and followed Shotaro's gaze to Saber with even more curiosity. "King of Britain, you say? How interesting considering you're a woman. What is your real name?"

The 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi- The Battle Continues!

The giant man shooting a demonic fireball was, in all honesty, quite unexpected for Relius. After all, for one with such giant statue, he expected less... Arcane methods of fighting. To say nothing of his build...

"Hrmph. Well, I'd rather not dally here much longer, but if you insist, I'll stay for a moment. Besides, my other... 'Tool' has yet to finish, so I might as well."

Relius snapped his fingers and, as usual Ignis popped out of seemingly nowhere to take the fireball head on. Getting into a defensive stance, Relius commanded the puppet to redirect the ball of energy into the air, a feat which it managed to perform regardless of the wounds on its lower body.

"On second thought, though... Maybe it might prove wiser to just wait for you to tire yourself out. Much less work for me."

While all of this was going on, Arakune was, as expected, firmly plastered against Hibiki's fist, its mass seemingly engulfing the entire thing before it promptly went 'splat' against the wall that Miku had launched it into. The mass of black sludge quivered for a moment before laying still for a few moments before grabbing a hold of the girl's arm and attempting to engulf her with its mass. As it did so, another flurry of insects began to pour out of Arakune's body in an attempt to keep any other attackers at bay long enough to complete his job. It... Probably wouldn't hold for long, given what had happened to the last wave, but even the semi-sapient mass of seithr knew that every second mattered in a situation like this.

Kohinata Miku

Miku reacted the exact same way that almost any sane person would on seeing their best friend being sucked into a dark mass (though normally you would expect that to be caused by gravity): rush over and try to help. The cloud of insects only needed to be parted for a second--the same way she'd attacked Arakune--to reach, which presented a second problem: even with a grip on Hibiki's hand, she wasn't really grounded on anything, which would make pulling her out all the hardere.

This probably wasn't the right way to help, but shooting didn't seem like a better choice...

KOTOHA ISONE, We're sidetracked already

I suppose looking for some missing people maybe "too normal" for a world like this. That could be the anomaly in itself. and...

Kotoha's thoughts ground to a halt, the two men seemingly stopped in their own train of thought as the information Arturia gave of herself sank in.

"Oh come on you two... We get plucked from our world by a lady in a Cathedral, given the task of literally fixing the universe and it's kin, dropped into a New York that looks like it's straight out of a fantasy video game and what catches your attention is that we have a female king in our group!?"

She gave a look of exasperation... Which gradually transitioned to a calm neutral expression accompanied by a more relaxed posture...

"I'm sorry guys it's just... Ya know, Universe getting fucked, I do think we should be taking it more seriously..."

Akuma, Supreme Master of the Fist
- 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi

While the man's doll had displayed the ability to deflect a Hadoken, this was far from a remarkable feat. Akuma had fought countless warriors capable of deflecting or nullifying the technique in the past. But, it did give the martial artist an excuse to exert himself somewhat, all while pushing his opponent to the limit. While his expectations were low, perhaps Akuma would be pleasantly surprised by this man in purple.

Now, for his next action, the warrior decided on a more direct approach. Maintaining his forward alacrity, Akuma descended towards the doll with his arms drawn back. When the time was right, his hands shot forward; however, he did not seem to be going for a strike. Rather, Akuma moved to seize the doll by the shoulders, and utilize momentum and physical strength in tandem.

Should the maneuver succeed, the doll would find themselves forcefully swung upwards as Akuma performed a swift mid-air somersault. The rather peculiar throw would then culminate in the martial artist viciously slamming the doll earthward. Or, if Relius happened to be close enough, directly into him.

Saber, King Arthur Herself

"I'm afraid that I cannot provide much information on New York," Saber replied, a somewhat solemn edge on her tone. After all, the knowledge was not relevant to the Holy Grail War. And thus it had not been granted to her. It was as simple as that. As such, there was little she could provide at this stage of planning. Solving mysteries, as it was, was not one of her chief skills, but if she were required to do a search she had already explained her capabilities in that regard. It was a simple enough conclusion for the blonde girl to reach. "As I stated, however, I can assist in searching out any potential locations that they may have been taken."

After a moment's pause, she began to address the questions she had been given in terms of her identity.

"Yes," Saber began, "I am Arturia Pendragon, King of Britain."

She bowed her head. In truth, she was no longer one to hold this information with pride. There may have still been a shred of it lingering within her, but that did not mean she did not still feel the shame of her failures. While Saber no longer desired to erase her rule, she certainly remembered the ways in which she had failed. But regardless, there was no way for her to deny the nature of her existence. She was indeed the Once and Future King.

Hellsalem's Lot- Lazing Around

Satori looked at Saber inquisitively and, after a few moments of trying to process the lofty claim that the woman had just made, simply nodded. The names "Pendragon" and "Britain" were about as familiar as the names of the humans back in the village above, but in this sort of situation, their relevance was probably irrelevant.

"While I would love to continue our debate on the origins of our companion here, I would think that our time would be much better spent being active for the moment. Though I loathe the idea of consciously prying into the minds of passersby, unless we begin to move I may not have many other options." she sighed, shaking her head. "I agree with that sentiment, at least. It's morning, though, so it might not be the most efficient course of action to go searching right away. Though the fate of the world is at stake, I do think that we cannot do much without more information. This incident may be related, or it may not be. So long as we're unaware of what the actual issue at hand here is, we may as well handle this problem. Furthermore, humans have a tendency of repaying favors with favors, so it may be beneficial to us to do so for the moment. I could also be wrong and that man could stab us in the back, but... Well, I think we're capable of handling ourselves well enough."

With that little diatribe over with, the youkai girl began to walk towards the arch, turning back to see if the rest of the group would follow suit. At the very least, they couldn't remain stationary this entire time and spend the day debating. If they could at least move while talking, then they might actually find something, information or otherwise.

Shirabe Tsukuyomi - Red Blade of War

As the truck moved off, Shirabe span up her saw-wheel and followed. It was going to be a long and boring run back if what the soldier had said was any indication.

At least the streets were quiet for the moment though.

Alex's spikes managed to pierce the robotic woman in various places but she did not seem to react at all. All she did was throw her master in the air where the spikes did not reach him. Now the virus knew who the real target was. Still, he'll smash the robot to pieces if she gets in the way too much.

However, it appeared she was not the only one getting in the way as a buff, dark-skinned person in some sort of black dojo clothes stomped the ground hard enough to put Alex's fight with Relius to a halt. The new guy introduced himself as Akuma who Relius just rebuffed. Akuma apparently did not take that too kindly and started shooting purple fireballs from his hands at Relius and there they went in their fight.

Alex morphed his hands back to normal as he watched the fantastical fight unfold before him. He would join in but he just could not find an opening. "This just keeps getting interesting." He muttered to himself as he patiently waited for what was going to happen next.

The 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi- A Fight... Concluded?

Relius simply watched in amusement as the man decided to try and toss Ignis into the air, an action which he himself was unable interrupt on his own solely based on how stupid it would've been to try and intercept a bulky man flying in midair to smash something into the ground. To be fair, it wasn't the first time he had dealt with someone who used this sort of battle tactic, but that person was considerably more... Sizable.

Backstepping to dodge the crash of Ignis into the ground, Relius watched as the doll shook for a moment before beginning to slowly push itself (and the enemy on her back) off the ground, a small shockwave released from her body to blow the man back before the somewhat-damaged puppet disappeared as it usually did.

Arakune, flaring up its body as Miku grabbed onto Hibiki's shoulders, shuddered once before engulfing both in a single action. The mass of seithr shuddered for a moment as the two girls were dropped somewhere into... Wherever the heck all those insects were stored inside the thing. There was not a trace left of the two girls as Arakune leaped into the ground, sliding over to Relius' side as a portal formed behind the two.

"Well, this has been... Interesting. Sadly, I believe my time here is up; this has been a slightly insightful experience, but I have a more intriguing matter to deal with. I bid you all... Adieu."

With a slight adjustment to his mask, Relius and Arakune moved through the portal, which closed almost instantly after the two of them left.

Kagutsuchi- ???

With the combat there over, Relius turned to look at Arakune, a glimmer of curiosity in his otherwise cold and calculating eyes. The mass had done something right, at least; two Murakumo units that he had not been aware of? This had potential to be of great use to him.

"Deposit the two units into the nearest storage tanks. I'll be examining them soon enough; for now, I must repair Ignis in case of any further altercations," the man said, walking off into another room in the lab.

The room itself was fairly chaotic in terms of appearance; there was no place without any sort of apparatus or covered by a piece on some sort of research paper. The room seemed to lead into a three other hallways, with the back wall lined with containment units to hold any interesting specimens that Relius had come across. Arakune, heeding the man's orders, moved to one of the empty units and, moving to the top of one, attempted to drop one of the girls inside.

Unknown City, Somewhere in the U.S.- Slowly Moving Along

"Huh. I... Well, 'animate dead' is certainly a weird way to describe those things. They're not really... Actually, I guess you could call them dead, in a sense. Most of the guys have just taken to calling them infected or just straight zombies, though, so I guess that ain't far from the truth," Aaron said, the truck slowly moving along the road as he turned back to face the doll. "But hey, I won't complain if we're getting some help with these things. Really rather not leave my kid to deal with this crap alone... Or leave him orphaned after it's all over."

Chris, after listening to the giant man and the doll still at their side (damn, this was surreal), nodded his head warily.

"Well, I guess I won't complain about help. Hope we can count on your help from here on out."

The ride had, for the most part, gone without incident, and the van and those traveling along with it had made it safely to the furthest outskirts of the city. Here, a large barbed-wire fence was set up, with a few infected corpses hanging off the side. Chris glanced over the state of the place and shook his head.

"I thought we made it clear to try and keep those walls clear. They're biohazards for a reason..." he grumbled as Aaron pulled the van up to the gates up front. A speaker at the front crackled for a moment before a voice came through.

"Chris, you okay?" a voice asked on the other side, which, from the sounds of things, seemed to be female.
"Yeah, we're good. Guess we're dropping protocol here?"
"It's a closed line and, let's be real here: the people responsible probably know who we are anyways, so unless they're intercepting a closed line, we're probably going to stay safe for a while."
"Point taken."
"Those the people who helped you out?"
"Yeah. You mind helping fill them in on the situation? The circumstances behind everything right now..."
"Understood. Gates opening now."

With that quick exchange of dialogue out of the way, the gates to the compound slid open, revealing the interior of the base to those inside the van as it moved forward. Slowly drawing to a stop, Aaron stretched as he turned to the back and motioned his head to the two riding within.

"We're here. Mission control will probably want to meet you... Or something. We're under high alert, but you got clearance from some major players so you should be okay... For now. Hell, I don't think we'd be able to take you on anyways, but whatever. See you later."

With that, the driver exited the van and began to walk off to the barracks to get a new change of clothes and... Maybe a shower, all things considered.

Tachibana Hibiki, Holding Determination in Her Fist

Hibiki didn't have time to say much of anything when Miku tried to help her out, to pull her out of the black mass. She's made a mistake, hadn't she? And now... now Miku was getting pulled in too! And it happened so fast, moments later they had both been deposited in greyness. It was a strange place that Hibiki had trouble describing, hardly what she had expected to be inside of the blob. There were cobwebs and it just seemed to go on forever, though she could faintly perceive that there was something else here, that there was a ceiling that was the outer portion of the blob creature's body.

She'd screwed up really badly, hadn't she...?

The girl faced away from Miku. When she spoke, her voice was somber.

"I'm sorry, Miku... I really messed up," she said, her gaze downcast. And yet, even as she spoke, one hand curled into a fist. She'd really messed up, so she had to try and break out if she could, didn't she? It was true. She didn't know what was going on outside, but that didn't matter. What mattered right now was getting out. So she'd break through, she'd make a straight and direct path for Miku and herself to get out! Watching the 'ceiling' waver above her, she spun on her heel and drew her fist back, setting her gauntlet once more into the rocket booster format, gripping the handle as it swung forward, her left hand reaching out to grasp Miku's.

"So I'm going to break straight through!"

Hibiki had no idea if this would work, but she had to try. For Miku. For the whole universe. Flames erupted from the jet on the back of her gauntlet, and she lifted into the air, blasting upwards with a shout. She had to make a hole, she had to break free so Miku could escape, so they both could get out of wherever it was this was...!

Just a Arakune prepared to deposit one of them into the holding unit, his entire back exploded outwards in a shower of black goo, gaping open in an act that surely stun it at the very least.

Hibiki hit the ground and skidded, coming to a halt halfway across the room.

Kohinata Miku

Being engulfed along with Hibiki wasn't the agonising death or endless insect assault that Miku would have expected after the attempt to free her friend backfired horribly. It was just bland and at least less hectic than the fighting outside had been, though there was no clear way out of their temporary confinement.

Then the more experienced girl decided to blame herself for something that couldn't possibly have been foreseen; since when had anything survived getting punched like that? Without giving a chance for Miku to say anything, the hot-blooded girl had decided to make up for it in the same way as always... even though there was a good chance of getting chewed out for being reckless to make up for being reckless again.

Having taken Hibiki's hand, Miku was likewise free from Arakune's imprisonment, though not on the other side of the room: using the Shenshou Jing, Miku had come to a halt far sooner, and thrust the club-fan-gun back at their bizarre captor for a point-blank shot. Maybe, if it wasn't going to be destroyed by blunt force, it could be incapacitated somehow. Otherwise they were going to have difficulty getting anywhere in this place without it being known immediately.

Alex continued to watch Akuma and Relius duke it out before looking to the other group. His eyes widened when the black blob swallowed two of the mechanical girls whole. It then slithered next to Relius who appeared to have evaded an attack from Akuma. A portal of sorts then opened behind the duo.

"Well, this has been... Interesting. Sadly, I believe my time here is up; this has been a slightly insightful experience, but I have a more intriguing matter to deal with. I bid you all... Adieu."
Relius Clover

Alex was fast but he knew he was not fast enough to catch the two leaving through the portal. The virus closed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh. They had suffered two casualties and nothing to show for it. While their deaths were not explicit, the overall nastiness of the black blob heavily implied it. Besides, even if they were alive, Alex would not know where or how to rescue them. He still had a mission and he had to assume they were done for.

The virus surveyed the area, only finding the black dojo person and a red-hiared girl with twintails. He recalled having a Power Ranger fighting with him but the Eastern super hero was nowhere to be seen. The situation was just confusing for the virus overall. "Well, two dead teammates and almost zero progress. Great." He remarked.

With that, Alex figured to just continue the mission and investigate the fighting that Relius had said he was observing along with his black blob pet.

Resident Evil Verse- Compound

Mentioned: @VitaVitaAR @Lost Cause

I beseech of thee, being from another plane of existence: aid me, and prevent the collapse of this world, and many others…

GEEEHHAAAAA!

The man’s mouth was wide-open as he expelled a loud and heavy yawn, and flying into it went a hard-boiled egg, two triangular fishcake patties, a sponge of kojac, and brown soy broth.

“Ahm, nyum, nom, nom,” the red swordsman emitted. His cheeks were round and inflated with what was his early-morning breakfast apparently. Someone had been just throwing it around. Swallowing it all down with a big gulp, a slither of broth escaped the corner of his mouth and he raised his fist to wipe it away.

Two auburn-colored eyes opened beneath a red plate-metal headband taking in his surroundings and the white woman that eerily stood before him like a ghost. Was this a dream? It couldn’t have been for that oden breakfast had tasted too real.

Sol was lying comfortably on his side with his head resting comfortably in his left hand, and his right leg propped up and bent at the knee. He had been asleep when he was suddenly transported from his crummy apartment to…a church. Shit; was this the price of constantly giving those Jehovah whosetheirfaces the boot? More like knights of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights—but same difference, they were all equally annoying. If he had had money to give away, then he wouldn’t have been a bounty hunter.

I profusely apologize for bringing you all here…But this is an urgent matter that necessitated immediate aid. I hope you can forgive me for my transgressions upon your life. My name is Lydia; I am known as the Administrator of the Astral Plane, a realm inaccessible without approval.

Oh lord; this chick started what he immediately suspected was going to be a lengthy conversation. But any who, if she wanted his help:

“One million world dollars in cash; I don’t take anything less,” Sol stated gruffly.

His hand dunked into his pants pocket as he removed two earbuds. Sliding them into his ears, he figured that someone with the title of Administrator had some cash and if she wanted his help, then she would have to pay him. He didn’t work for free, especially when it came to missions where his life might be on the line.

His finger tapped his mp3 player and “Bicycle” by Queen started flooding his ears as he closed his eyes to resume his nap.

Lips parted with drool seeping down the side of his face, Sol’s hand started to lower and suddenly his head dipping forward startled him awake. Blinking his eyes frantically, the swordsman glanced around to see that the crowd of heroes and villains; punks and wannabes; weeaboos and…(digress) were all gone. Pinching one earbud between his index finger and thumb, he removed it as he started revolving his head, glancing over his shoulder and then around him. What he noticed when he brought his attention back to the center of the room were three portals. Had they gone through?

With a lazy sigh, Sol took his time getting off the floor to his feet. He bent over to pick up his Fuuenken and tilted his head to the side, closing his eyes, and groaning softly:

“What a pain…”

He knew that if he wanted to find out where he was, then he would have to follow them. Hefting his sword onto his shoulder, he glanced at the three portals and started playing an eenie meenie miny mo game. After eliminating two portals, he was left with the right-most one. Dropping his finger, he started over to it.

“This better not be boring.”

As soon as the swordsman passed through the gate, he free fell a short distance to land with a thunk on the roof of a moving vehicle. His brown spiky hair and ponytail tossed in the wind as he stood there with eyes wide with obliviousness. Zombie-like moans along with the horrible crackle and splatter of them being crushed under the van surrounded him. A giant knight was running next to the vehicle and behind it was a pink machine girl riding saws. Out of all the places…out of all the possibilities he could have thought would have existed on the other side of that portal THIS was not one of them. This was random as hell.

Raising his hands and shoulders in a careless shrug, Sol laid out on the roof of the van, returning the earbud to his ear. He reached into his pocket to remove a crooked cigarette and sliding it between his lips, he brought his Fire Seal sword before his face and pressed it against the end of it. The stick started to sizzle as a gray tail of secondhand smoke rose from it to be whisked in the breeze. Resting the sword with its most lethal end turned down toward the van roof, he used it as a windshield so that he could smoke peacefully.

When the van came to a final stop, Sol sat up and swung his legs around to the passenger side door. He grasped the remains of the cigarette between two of his fingers before he flicked it away. Chutes of smoke left his nostrils as he hopped down from the van and observed the fortress. The place looked like serious business, which meant someone was rolling in dough.

From deep within the peaceful rest of sleep Mithias became aware of a soft feminine voice speaking to him. All was blessed blackness, soothing unconsciousness, yet it was smartly interrupted by a relentless call. Incessant, it would not let him dwell in dreams any longer.

Golden eyes cracked open to a blinding light. The brightly lit room was harsh on a vampire, yet not damaging. Mithias brought up a hand to shade himself as he mentally scrambled to remember where he was and what was going on. Was it day? Why was the last thing he remembered being at his father's home in Hawaii? Had he been hit in the head?

Realizing he wasn't under attack, at least not any longer, Mithias sat up and beheld the women in the white habit. If this was a church, it wasn't causing him any harm to be there. Odd... Mithias awoke in complete confusion, yet his nature was to be passive. Tall, lean, yet muscular, he looked like a beast with terrifying intelligence. Long soft hair fell over his shoulders and a clawed hand gripped the edge of the stone slab he had been resting on. Mithias realized with some relief that his weapons were still on him.

"I profusely apologize for bringing you here," she stated... The Lady Lydia went on with her explanation quickly, a edge of rush in her words that she was probably unaware of.

Mithias followed her explanation with ease, although he didn't yet buy any of it. As she spoke, he looked around, verifying how 'real' everything seemed, trying to remember where he had been only moments ago and actively denying the illusion that seemed to be all around him now. However denial wasn't making any of it disappear.

He stood up, black jacket falling in place to hide all but the tips of twin blades at his sides, and he looked at the woman. Whether or not any of this was true, or if his mind had been hijacked by his sire, or even if he was dead, he'd have to find out later. For now, he would go along with it. Immortals generally had time to be patient. Then he asked her, "Why did you pick me?"
