So, hi!(Again) As you may have guessed, I'm new here! (And terrified) I don't know much about role-playing to be honest with you. I just joined so I could possibly sharpen my writing skills, and have fun doing so.
So yah, I have no idea how things work here, but hey I know how to snazz up my profile so that's a good thing. But the forums, the people, how things work here, all new to me. It's like loosing my role playing virginity, so this is special.
Well, uhh, and a little disclaimer. I won't be active for a bit as my computer is going under some... complications, and I'm currently writing this late at night with my phone after just realising the whole spambot scandal is over, and I can register now, woo! So, excuse any mistakes you may find in this post (Topic?). I swear my writing is much better than this!
So in conclusion, I'm new, I'm scared, I know very little, a hand to hold would be nice. And that's why this post is all over the place.

Don't worry, everyone gets a bit freaked out when they first join a new place. I know I was a bit myself, but this place is both friendly and easy to navigate, so you'll settle in quick. But really, I'd love to help. Let's see... This site is pretty straight forward (and I think you'll enjoy it). There's 3 kinds of main group RP's.
Free, which is kind of the E for Easy going RP's. Casual, which has a fair amount of writing but not strict. And Advanced, which has a good amount of writing and for people who have been writing/role playing for awhile. Then there are the Nation RP's which have you making continents and governments and countries to RP with in a storytelling/strategy mixture. And there is 1x1 if you just want you and a partner. And then there is the Tabletop like regular D&D, and finally the Arena for combat RP's.

Ok, if you want to join/make an RP. Here is usually the layout. The "Interest Checks" are for people to post their RP ideas. Then when they have a fair amount of players, they create the threads that are located up in Free, Casual, Advanced, etc. Those threads are split up into IC (in character, for actual RP postins), OOC (out of character, to discuss ideas and say you are interested in joining) and CS (character sheets, where you post finished characters).

The above post pretty much covered the basics. The main thing you need to focus on is having fun. Don't be afraid of asking questions, feel free to experiment around with the different sections, and let all your creative juices flow!

They are keeping you away from your fun. There is no reason to be scared, however the crazy train boards in an hour or so, so do avoid that unless you wish to be dragged into an actual oblivion.
