Fair enough, some of us can be creepy. Though I'm far less likely to admit when I've done something like that.

I've honestly been trying to come up with a system of warship classification that isn't the typical "frigate, destroyer, cruiser, battleship, carrier" type of affair, but I've kind of been drawing a blank. Not a big deal; I can just not give them a designation; just call them Ok'tal or Vel'ur or something similarly alien without any "-class X" or the like.

Fair enough. I like my apostrophe-laden names, though. Well, mostly apostrophe-laden. It's really only the T'kai language that's like that, but the T'kai make up like 80% of my nation. :D Seriously, you wanna know the full name of Ch'ak's First Governor? Cha'ki'la is'Ku'nai'rak es'Ken'ka'zu.

Well, to be perfectly honest I personally wouldn't object to my neck of the woods being relatively unexplored with there only having been sporadic/secondhand contact and rumours of Ch'ak among everyone else. Or something similar along those lines.

It's actually not a particularly big deal to me, if I'm going to be completely serious. I was only asking if anyone was near me so if they were we could possibly work out some collaborative history. I didn't actually need anyone near me.

While Hael made herself clear, I would like to point out that even through technological advancements the diseases you fight would evolve to become even stronger so no you couldn't outright get rid of diseases, not to mention diseases from other planets. Your little nano things wouldn't know how to fight against a foreign object that it does not know, in fact it may very well begin attacking the host's own cells.


The modern field of nanomedicine has been moderately successful at employing nanotechnology in the treatment of certain forms of cancer (photodynamic therapy is one such nanotechnological method of isolating a tumor and subsequently destroying it, and has been shown to be a superior option to the traditional mode of cancer treatment: chemotherapy), drug delivery (less collateral damage to the body due to the drug being precisely directed at one specific locale instead of being spread about throughout the body proper), and blood purification. I'd go digging around for research papers for you to take a gander at, but I'm really short on time at the moment, so I hope that these two Wikipedia articles will suffice:

Why would the immune system be impossible to mechanically replicate? It doesn't make a lot of sense based off of what we've witnessed occurring over the course of the last 6,000 years or so of human civilization.

Remember: it was only roughly 200 years ago (about ten human generations) that the industrial revolution was the height of human technological prowess.

But I don't know. I'm not really sure about this RP anymore. Too many inconsistencies and personal bias for me to remain interested.

@ASTA Sure there may be a personal bias in @Hael's decision, although in my opinion, it seems harmless and not too much of a loss on our part. Why not just go with something else? if you are even still interested that is.

I am sorry, I tried to be nice about this and I really am sorry that you may have lost interest.

The fact of the matter is we cannot and will not allow this. The only reason is for balancing issues, if we had this a hella lot more lenient we would let you. However, even after I tired to compromise with you, you still argue and refuse to accept the notion that we here are wanting balance! That is the key to a roleplaying game! In a game have you gone against a character so high level that you died no matter what? That would be poor balancing!

I am not going to debate on this any longer. We will not allow this for a starting nation no matter what you say, if you cannot accept it then please, complain to my farm. The field of fucks that is currently barren. Now, if you excuse me, I will be going to calm myself with a nice warm bubble bath.

If you wish to stay, please come up with a different idea.

But it wasn't personal bias. It was fairness.

Consider this:
-My nation almost always uses disease-based weapons on planetary attacks, which your nation would be immune to.
-No other nation has immortals.
-If you are immortal, population growth would be insane even if it is legally limited, meaning that you would have to constantly expand, thus giving you better population and size than most others.
-If you are immortal, the members of your nation would be far more intelligent than all other nations from a lifetime of learning, which would make your nation smarter than most others.
-If you are immortals, your nation would have to have far more advanced technology than any others.

So now we're talking about a nation that, by NECESSITY, must be larger, smarter, more advanced, happier, and probably wealthier than all or most other nations, with no downside. That's why it's not right for me to allow it. Plus, it is simply unrealistic. You can't compare immortality to the invention of flight. That's like comparing building supercomputer on Mars to the first caveman to sharpen a spear. THAT, my friend, is skewed.

As Lauder so eloquently put it:

Crying "Hael is being biased!" accomplishes nothing. I'm doing what I have to for the good of this RP. If you have a problem with staying even with everyone else, then you shouldn't be in a group RP at all. Fairness is key. You're not in this to "win".

EDIT: And, @ASTA, if you argue with me on this again then I'm going to the admins about it. I told you not to argue anymore, and yet you did. Lauder told you to stop arguing, and then you did again. Who the heck do you think you are that you don't have to listen to the GM? Stop arguing means stop arguing. Either come up with a different idea so I can approve it, or never speak in this OOC again. Anything else is disobeying the GM, which is directly breaking the rules of Roleplayerguild.

I have a question about this. They're not some kind of magical diseases that are somehow able to infect any aliens, are they? I mean, do you use cocktails of different diseases that specifically target certain races or even diseases that are specifically engineered to infect multiple specific hosts? Because I don't think that, for example, any of your diseases would likely be able to infect a species you haven't had any prior contact with (or whom you haven't had the chance to study the biology of) simply because pathogens don't really often cross species boundaries like that.

Nah. The Xim would have to study the genome and immune system of a species first, then concoct a virus that would harm them by targeting the weak-points in that species' physical make-up. It would take over an IC year of study, maybe two or three, to even come close to creating a viable disease. So I won't be able to just start a plague right off the bat

After all my preaching about balance, do you honestly think I would have something that can kill races automatically? xD That wouldn't be right, so I'm going to make sure it takes a good bit of time for the Xim to manufacture a decent disease for any given species.

Well, with the exception of humanity. They were at war with humans for 50 years, and so they have probably already created an anti-human plague, but I'm not sure if they would have unleashed it or not. Afterall, even the Xim aren't monsters, and they want the humans alive for transformation.

Hey, those fucking trenches are hell man. There a region called the no man's land for a reason

Though you are right, that is pathetic. You can assume that all the X'Cor loyalists were either recruits or low ranked if you want. Normally, a battle like this wouldn't take them this long ^^
