Oooh, gotcha. That makes some kind of sense I suppose, though it's still one hell of a fuck-up. So, I do have one question, like would these colonies have already all "hit dirt" as it were? And have already set up and began operations? Or would there still be some likely heading to their destination?

Oh, and guess what @Hael. I finished my NS! Granted, I still gotta do my Explorer's sheet, but that shouldn't take too long. Huzzah!

A mix of all the above. Some are already dug in and rapidly burrowing underground cities while strip-mining other sections of the planet, others are still in transit or are floating without guidance because of running into cosmic anomalies or stray fire on the way out of the Meknik cluster.

Between flash-clone facilities, heavy industry, Meknik work ethic, and disregard for the environment, a Meknik colony doesn't need long to get running. So the potential for interactions is very broad.

Oh, cool. I see some interesting potential, since as I mentioned earlier there are certain systems that Ch'ak has 'claimed' and has beacons set up but hasn't utilized at all because there's a life-bearing world there and exploiting the system would be immoral. If one of these colonies happened to arrive in one of those systems (or even arrive in a dead system and wonder why the hell there's literally nothing there or one currently being stripped by World Eaters) it could be an interesting first contact between the Meknik and Ch'ak'ii.

Anyways. What's the official stance on strike craft? Are they at all effective in this setting?

It seems like a lot of people have them, so I'm gonna assume the answer is 'yes'.

I see them as sort of a wild card. I don't think there's any one thing you can say to classify @Queen Raidne's nation. "Anarchy" comes close, except for all that bureaucracy...

Heehee, I love how my nation is anarchic and yet also full of red tape. It's my favorite!

Well, I'm working on my navy at the moment as well. Currently all I have down is a general description of what features Ch'ak'ii ships tend to have as well as the different types of drones the Grand Fleet uses. I wish I was more knowledgeable about this kind of stuff so I could get into the specifics of number of weapons and stuff like that, but it doesn't look like I'm the only one going with something more general so I don't think it's a problem.

Oh, you people with actual nonchaotic navies....

Party lasers are best lasers.
Ozerath

I was really tempted to go with my nation that attempts to justify ridiculous sci-fi tropes - they have brightly colored, flashy lasers that you can see in space because that's what gets the best ratings, and therefore funding and political support. In fact, they go so far as making their weapons worse just to achieve multicolored effects.

They also, in an unrelated note, were green-skinned humanoid aliens.

Got an explorer post up. Nation post will follow in a day or so.

@Queen Raidne let me know if anything needs adjusting, I tried not to take too many liberties with Ragnorak and its residents.

No, no, that's fine. You could've gone into more detail if you'd wanted (my favorite line was the one about Ragnorak customs being less existant).

My military is almost exclusively strike craft (an intentional weakness), so yes, that's fine.

Most any spaceship is fine, honestly, as long as they don't violate rules on warp and they aren't invincible or something. I mean, I have some pretty absurd designs for ships in mind. I can't judge xD

Bureaucracy is simply the most orderly form of chaos.
