Pvt. Reginald Weber

Reg approached the Coach House, leisurely taking his time. He had only been in the militia for a few days and already they were throwing him orders. He didn't even get any training, not that he needed it. He came to a stop outside the door of the Coach House, pulling a pocket watch and checking the time. He was five minutes late, just a bit under being fashionably so. Snapping the pocket watch shut, he shoved in back into his uniform, pulling out a cigarette and lighter in exchange. Lighting it up, he stuck the cigarette in his mouth and the lighter back into his uniform before opening the door and stepping inside. Walking through the Coach House, Reg made his way to where he was told to report too. Finding a chair, and brushing it off with his hand, he sat down and let out a puff of smoke. The military wasn't something he had ever planned on joining, nor did he ever think he'd see himself in a uniform. Despite all there, here he was, sitting in a run down building all uniformed up. He chuckled to himself, if any of his old 'friends' saw him like this he wouldn't hear the end of it. Luckily, half of them where either dead or far from the frontline and the other half would probably shoot him first before laughing. Crossing his legs and letting out another puff of smoke, Reginald looked forward, waiting to be told what he had to do. It felt odd to be at the bottom rung again.

Corporal James Hunt|Outside the Coach House

James listens to the Captain and nods, turning to head back to the coach house. "Understood, sir. I should say that she does doubt her ability to lead the squad though. I tried to boost her confidence before you arrived with the column but, well, I'm not sure how well it went over. Anyways, thank you for hearing me out, Captain. I'll be sure to help get the candidates familiar with everyone." Turning around, he jogs to the Coach house and heads inside, already finding that Squad 4 was meeting up and that at least one of the candidates had arrived.

Stepping in, he goes over to where the Imperial weapons were moved to on the main floor and starts looking them over and making a list of how many of each weapon they had captured. Then he intended to find out who needed their kit restocked or replaced and using the Imperial weapons.

Though she had, aside from her cold silence, been acting the part, though her mind was elsewhere. Dissociation is a strange thing. The subconscious controls the body, as though hypnotized but under no suggestion, while the consciousness is elsewhere. She was standing peaceably at guard, a strange state of calm and yet alert, when the sound of approaching tanks shook her from the state. Her eyes popped open and she took a moment to gather her surroundings. She'd blacked out, but tanks would mean she didn't have time to worry about that. Sword at her side, here's her mortar lance, get to the window and- "oh. Allies."

Regan let out a sigh and turned, resting her back against the wall and propping her lance up next to her. "Valkyria, I need a hot bath..." Given a moment, she would rub her hands over her face before looking over at Jatmoore. "So, uh..." She seemed hesitant, as though she didn't really want to say it. She knew she had to, though. "I blacked out."

After returning their captive to his place he seemed to try and defense his surrender, though it was not in the way she was expecting as he mentioned protecting his men... That was a noble reason to surrender even if the empire was not going to see such a thing other than a coward, a truth about the empire. "Very true, but they won't settle... It is a noble thing." Turning around she started to make her way out of the holding building "I also understand what you said more than you know.. Enjoy your time as POW, it is the only thing keeping you safe sadly." That was meant to be more a warning than any sort of threat, the last thing they wanted was to escape and mention anything that happened here today.

She knew all too well about such a thing, and with her on the run she only had to fact no one knew who she was that was protecting her and she could only hope they were far, far away from her fathers battalion. After the conversation with the enemy she had been reminded that they had collected all their weapons, and she was sure she could grab a rifle or something for herself, maybe feel it comfortable in her hands again. Giving off the messages to the others over the radio for the others to guard the enemy, she went to the place where they were piled up she took pause when she noticed Hunt standing there. "So, anything good?"

James had glanced up when Glaive had entered the coach house, but hadn't paid her much mind. Maybe Stichler had sent her in to swap guard positions for all he knew. It wasn't until she spoke that he paid attention. "So, anything good?" Looking over at her, he shrugs and resumes taking inventory on numbers of weapons.

"I'm sure there probably is, but I'm just doing how many we have right now. Besides, I've spent too much time avoiding getting shot at by these guns to know a lot about them. You familiar with 'em?"

The trip up to meeting point had been a quite Aria spending most of the time lost in her own thoughts. It had been only a few days since her last company had all been wiped out by an Impearl ambush. Aria replaying the mess that was called a battle several times in her head, still quite unsure how she felt about all. She knew she didn't like the Empire ... wait was the right? Aria wasn't sure, all she knew at the moment she liked killing Imperials. For now that it Aria didn't think it mattered, all that mattered to her was she was being assigned to a new regiment and company. She had no idea what squad she'd be put in, but that was a detail she was sure she'd be told shortly. For now while traveling with armor column she had assigned to a squad temporarily just in case something happened, luckily nothing had though.

Upon arriving at some coach house an unit sent ahead of the armor column had captured, Aria waited by the tank she had ridden on waiting for orders from her temporary squad commander. Who was busy working out where Aria was meant to go. Apparently her addition to his squad even if was only temporary was very last minute and he wasn't informed where he was meant to send her upon arrival to the coach house. To matters more fun no one had told her anything. It was only during a squad meeting did the commander tell her she was transfer to another squad. So far Aria had been waiting for ten minutes, contently flipping though her notepad to pass the time. The notepad partly filled with several drawings Aria had managed to find time to do during her time in the militia. Aria always feeling annoyed as she couldn't get more time to draw, given she had all but given up painting when she was drafted. Not it bothered her too much as she planned to return to her studies after the war, that was provided she made it thought in one piece.

Busy looking at a drawing of a tank parked in the middle destroyed building with the crew sat on the body eating, she didn't notice the squad commander come back.
"Private Hexner." The squad commander stated making Aria jump slightly, quickly looking at who had addressed her.
"Oh sir, sorry was just looking over some of my own handiwork." Aria stated closing the notepad. Quickly sticking it back into its pouch that was currently strapped to her waist.
"It's fine. Anyway I'm told your to go into the couch house. From there you'll be assigned to your new squad." The squad commander stated, Aria giving a quick nod. Leaving Aria by herself the squad commander left to attend to other duties, trusting Aria get to the couch house herself.

Thinking for a moment Aria tapped her pouch with her notepad into twice, wondering if she was late or early. The young woman hoping she was early, then she could take her pack off as she'd had it on for hours and was starting to feel heavier then normal.
"Might as well head over, hopefully I can take this dam pack off and have a smoke." Aria thought to herself as she looked around, spotting what she would assume was the coach house. Deciding not to waste anytime Aria made her way over to what she assumed was the couch house. As she made her way over Aria couldn't help but wonder what this building would of been like before the war. Wondering what the lives of the people that lived her would have been like.

She was about to enter the building when Aria's need for a cigarette won out. Aria reaching it into a small satchel sat was attached to her waist pulling out a small pack of cigarettes and box of matches. Lighting it up, Aria hopped she wouldn't get in trouble aware some captains where hard asses about the habit. Stashing the packs back into the satchel. Aria took a long drag of her cigarette. Heading inside the couch house, she began to wonder where exactly she needed to be.
Slowing walking further into the building, Aria didn't feel like wondering around till should found the meeting point. So figured she try a different tactic. Seeing there a few people in front of her she'd try asking one of them.
"Excuse me. Hello." she called out hoping that that someone acknowledge her.

Alex couldn't help but take pause at the question of if she was familiar with the gear on the ground, which she peered over for the moment to check it over to see what was there. Of course she was as she had seen almost every piece of equipment while picking her own as a officer before, hence the pistol that she carried at her side even now. Not to mention all the training with said weapons she had to go over in boot camp, so choosing out the good stuff from the scrap was going to be an easy task.

"Yeah I can see some stuff. One moment I will search through it."

Lowering down her own rifle and placing it against the building she started to kick aside some of the less than working weapons, and damn there was a lot of them. "This is why I don't like using explosives on soft targets..." However it seemed a few unique things did turn up in good condition from the pile, which she happily started to pull out and lean them up against the wall. "I would have liked some of their armor as well but I am guessing the army frowns on stripping the enemy in that way" She gave off a chuckle before gesturing to the weapons that she had turned up, along with the related ammo that she could collect in such a short amount of time.

"Firstly is a VB Panzer Lance, though a lower caliber than the Gallian standard its accuracy is much higher, though it weighs about two extra pounds." Next she picked up the rifle "The ZM SG Sniper Rifle, pretty useful and the same as the standard Gallian, other than one thing of having shaped rounds, designed to hurt armor just as much as personnel, through it is not a antitank I am sure it could price a car or a storm troopers armor." She would toss the empty rifle too him before picking up the SMG "This is.. Mine? Yes, I think mine. It is a modified SMG heh. Though should see if anyone else-,"

"Excuse me. Hello."

Turning around to spot the new comer she raised a brow and lowered the smg to her side, lifting her other hand to her cap to lower it a little as she nodded "Hello there. Private Alex Glaive, and this is Corporal James Hunt. Are you backup or?" Like she was told anything of importance so all she could really do was greet them.

Corporal James Hunt|Inside the Coach House

James barely managed to catch the sniper as it was tossed to him, but he looked it over as Glaive continued on before hearing the voice as well.

"Excuse me. Hello."

Turning to see who it was that had spoke, he was beat to the punch on answering most of what was being said by Glaive. "Hello there. Private Alex Glaive, and this is Corporal James Hunt. Are you backup or?" James new what was going on so he slung the sniper rifle over his shoulder and smiled at the candidate.

"There's going to be a bit of squad reshuffling for the assault on Vasel, Captain's orders. I guess while we were taking the coach house, squad 9 had more casualties than we all thought. We'll still maintain our core squad, just getting some fresh blood is all."

His unloaded rifle unslung and balancing upon his hand, Colin knew patience was key. This was the military after all. Deep breaths and distracting exercises would win the day. Colin sat up abruptly when he saw more and more soldiers pour in, his rifle falling forward and he scrambled to catch it. He noticed many of them went into a different room. He wasn't sure if he should make his way in there or stay in the common area. 'Well, might as well take chances' he told himself, and heading straight for where the others were gathering. "Hi, how are you guys? Scout here, reporting."

Being acknowledged by both of the people in front of her, Aria felt quite pleased although it didn't show. Looking at both of them attentively as they each spoke. Taking in mental note of the names in case she ended up assigned to the same squad.
"I see. Then I guess I'm back up. Dunno." Aria plainly stated taking a drag from her cigarette looking at Alex and James intently for a moment, as if studying the pair of them. Then shifting her gaze to the weapons they had been looking over before back at them.
"Private, Aria Hexner. Engineer." She said, as she adjusted her pack and rifle, finding both where really starting to feel uncomfortable. She had to find somewhere out of the way to set them down soon, maybe these two knew a spot. As Aria was about to open her mouth to speak, another person came into the room spoke. Merely looking at this newcomer for a moment before figuring she should acknowledge him.
"Hello." Was all Aria said as she turn her attention back to Alex and James, feeling a little bad she didn't say more. To worried to say something inappropriate or simply weird to say much, so simply stood there looking at everyone while smoking her cigarette for a minute.
"So ... which room are we meant to meet in? Also where can I set my gear down?" Aria asked shifting her pack again, wanting it off but didn't just want to dump it where she stood. Even if the thought was proving to very tempting.

Blacked out? Lilly looked confused when she said this. Wasn't blacking out synonymous for fainting? "By the Valkyrur, are you alright? When did this happen?" Though she was not a trained medic by a long shot, Lilly knew enough about first aid to know that blacking out and fainting weren't things that were considered particularly healthy. Though her face clearly displayed concern, she calmed down a bit after she noticed that Durandal seemed back to normal... for now at least. "You look alright for the moment, but do you feel ill at all? Black outs are not healthy, and it would not be prudent to ignore one happening."

Checked over the SMG a little, trying to see what mods it had while she listened to the others about what was happening and why there were new people. Really it all made sense this world happen, more so since their commander had to be taken back to base so that their current leadership was.. less than desired. "I see, well I am always up for more hands on deck, though I am surprised we got another engineer out of it-," It was then that yet another person arrived ",- Also another scout. Eh I guess we don't get to pick and choose though in these times." She mentioned with a soft sigh, not meant to sound rude to the pair but she thought they understood it was more than a little annoying that they had troops they couldn't pick.. Well that was her imperial thinking anyway. "I have no idea we were meant to be meeting anywhere, also you are in a war zone. You don't put down your gear..."

James didn't speak as introductions were made, although he frowned when the new arrival only gave them a job and no name. Before he could speak though, Glaive was already getting down to business. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy, Glaive," he points at where the other packs had been set for the standing down time. "You can set your pack there, Hexner, but your weapon stays on you in case we get attacked." He then turns to the new scout. "Pleasure, I'm Corporal James Hunt. Might I get a name, scout?"

He also took a quick account of the number of people in the room and found that the guards for the Imperials were still upstairs. "Hold that thought mate. Just set your pack with the rest and we'll get names after everyone's here." Heading up the stairs, he pokes his head in and gets Durandal's and Lilly's attention. "Hey, form up in the main room in ten minutes. I'll see if one of the other squads can send up guards to take your places in the mean time."

Listening to Alex, Aria was pleased at that moment she wasn't very expressive feeling quite annoyed. Aria find that the other privates words where almost insulting to her and the newcomer which she only knew was a scout.
"Thanks. Make me feel welcome why don't you. I'm here clearly as command think I'm needed here. For whatever reason. Idoit." she thought taking a long slow drag of her cigarette.
"Alex was it? You've annoyed me." Aria simply stated looking at Alex for a moment. Any effort to found out how only brought on a dismissive wave of Aria's right hand, unwilling to explain as to how.

It was then James stepped into the conversation and pointed out where she spot her gear down. Aria gave a single, feeling rather silly hadn't noticed all the packs of the ground.
"Thanks." Aria stated glad to know she could set the bulk of her gear down. Walking over to where the other packs where sat. Aria slowly took hers off. Setting it neatly on the ground, with other packs. Now free form the bulk of her burden, Aria felt a lot more content. Even if she only got to have it of for a few minutes it would enough to give her back and shoulders a rest. Given she had been wearing that back the whole trip. With her pack on the ground Aria eyed the pouches that where attached to her waste, feeling a little tempted to remove them. Although after a quick thought opted to keep them on as they didn't bother her and where annoying to remove and reattach. Adjusting her rifle so it sat across her Aria felt much better and for a nanosecond almost had a content look on her face. With her pack set down Aria opened the pack up and went about quickly checking her gear just to make sure everything had made it up in piece, that and it meant she didn't have to turn around and potentially interact with people she didn't know.

Turing back to face the others she noticed that the one called James had gone somewhere. Although she payed it no mind, thinking he most likely had something important to do. Still Aria was unsure what to do now, having everything she wanted covered. Aria found she was at a loss for words, given small talk with strangers was something she struggled with. It didn't help Aria at this time wasn't will to make an effort so merely stood there smoking the last little bit of her cigarette. Throwing it to the ground when she was done. Stomping on it to snuff out anything left over.

Don't put his gear down. Put it down. Hi. Hello. Tell them his name. Don't. "Ok" was all he said, smiling as politely and friendly as he could, zipping over to put his gear down next to the rest of the packs. He felt lighter and more free, though still a bit out of sorts and ready to get back to whatever action needed doing. Still, friendly introductions were important. Colin noticed the one who seemed to be in charge heading out for a quick sec. That just left him and two others.

He held his hand out to Alex, the closest one. "Hi, I'm Colin. I'm new, how are you?" he asked. Slow down. He let out a breath. That rhymed, he realized. He gave an even wider smile at how odd he probably looked. He gave private Glaive a nod too, then blinked. How had she known he was a scout? Or the other one for that matter. Probably his gun and attire.

Alex looked a little confused when Hunt told her to go easy, though she did realize what she had said the moment he pointed out where their packs went. "Ah, though you meant all the gear. Sorry." Yeah she was wrong on that, she had just seen too many people scramble for their weapons when everything hit the fan to like letting go of her weapon. Still as she was watching the pair get pointed to the pack pile Aria decided to point out that she got annoyed by something Alex did, but it only made her smirk softly. "Yeah? Well if you cannot put up with being annoyed I am not sure you are going to make it out here in the war zone"

That went about as well as she was expecting if she was honest, still it was a shaky start with the new people which didn't last. It was at this point that she noticed the hand being held out to her in greeting, something new that did not even happen at boot camp. Holding out her hand in return she shook his and nodded in greeting, the guys smile was kind of contagious as it followed onto her own. "Alex Glaive. Nice to meet you. I suspect we will be working together sometime. I am a commando... well scout / engineer but I like the other title better" Imperial had a title for her type of troop which was a commando.

Listening to Alex, what Aria would call state she wouldn't make it out here in the war zone if she couldn't handle being annoyed. Made Aria raise an eye brow, finding the comment pretty presumptuous. Aria didn't say she was annoyed as she couldn't handle she was merely telling Alex she had evoked an emotion. That was all, Aria could handle being annoyed and she could handle herself in a fight well enough.
"Just so you know I'm not some fresh faced rookie." Aria stated taking a step back no long interested in to Alex, that girl so far only provided to be an annoyance. Ignoring Alex and the no named scout, Aria walked over to a a section of free wall way from them near the packs and promptly sat down. As if on instinct Aria grabbed leather pouch the contained her notepad and pencils. Looking at Alex for a moment as if to study her again. Aria started to draw, what most would call a very rough sketch of Alex, the scout with no name and everything else in the room. Her left hand moving like a will oiled machine. As she drew Aria began humming to herself, a habit she developed before the war. Unless someone spoke to her Aria would draw contently until the meeting or they where attacked.

"Not like that. Just that... I don't remember anything since I was with the other Lancers." She hadn't passed out. Someone would have noticed and she'd be waking up in a cot right about now, instead. Just then, Hunt poked his head in, said something about a meeting and replacements for their guard duty and left. They must be guarding prisoners? Somehow, she had the impression she was standing watch.

"I've been feeling... anxious?... since I joined with your squad. Reading that journal helps and... doesn't help." She shook her head, conflicted. "I don't know why." She took a deep breath to steady herself, feeling a wave of emotion about to sweep her away. "Ah, but, mm. We have a meeting to attend."

"I see... Well if there is anything that I can do to help, or you just want to talk, please do not hesitate to call on me." Shortly thereafter, Hunt poked his head up and told them about the meeting, before waving a few of the walking wounded from squad 9 in. Despite their wounded state, there were a fair number of them, so they would still be effective at guarding the prisoners. When Durandal remarked about needing to attend the meeting, Lilly nodded in agreement before heading down the stairs. "Yes, we should not keep them waiting."

Lilly arrived in the main room, just in time to see Private Glaive and a new arrival cease their conversation and resume doing their own things, neither looking particularly happy with each other. Brushing some of her disheveled hair aside, Lilly's expression shifted to a sad one as she remarked to no one in particular. "Oh.. Don't tell me the newcomers have only been here for 15 minutes and already there's been an argument?" Glaive had already begun to converse with some of the others, but the girl she had been talking to had retreated to the corner and begun drawing. Everyone else seemed pretty occupied, so Lilly decided to try to chat with her. She might as well try to get to know someone and (as the squad's unofficial and self-proclaimed moral officer) try to find out what happened and see if she couldn't defuse the situation a little. Lilly quickly brushed some of the dust and dirt off her uniform before heading over. "Good afternoon, Miss. Might I ask what you're drawing?"

Being so invested in her drawing Aria failed to notice that an unfamiliar person entered the room and approached her. Her eyes focused on the paper and her hand and every so often whatever she was drawing. Aria feeling the need to capture the monument. Thinking one day it might make for a good painting. Maybe ... only time would tell for now it the drawing was taking life a a rough sketch, although what Aria called a rough sketch was lot better then what most would call a rough sketch. When the person spoke to Aria, made a gesture to wait a moment with her free hand. Finishing a few little lines before lifting the pencil off the paper.
"Hello ..." Aria stated plainly trailing off ... looking at the newcomer intently for a moment as if trying to work out if she was sincere in her question or simply trying to get her attention. Deciding the newcomer must at least some what interested in what she was doing. Aria nodded to herself, her gaze softening into something that might be considered normal.
"This room and the people and things in it." Aria stated moving the drawing it could be seen more clearly.
"This one is that girl Alex and the scout who's failed to tell me his name thus far." she continued pointing at the sketch of Alex then a moment later at her.
"She annoyed me, but I found it inspired me to capture the room. I dunno why. Inspiration is weird like that ... so ... umm ... your name? Could I have a name please? I'm Private Aria Hexner, I'm an engineer." Aria said gesturing to herself as she spoke her name. Then at her pack as she spoke her class.
