Mitis Forest-Forest Showdown

Wrath was starting to wonder if he'd gone the right direction when he heard the sound of conversation ahead. Finally, something other than demons! Well, probably more demons, but I recognize one of those voices. He'd heard Kosara's voice sound off a few times, and it sounded like she was arguing with someone. He picked up the pace a little, now moving at a slight job, which only grew to a run when he heard a pair of explosions go off right before he actually entered the clearing. Upon entrance, he took a second to take it all in.

The cyborg was aiming at a demoness who Wrath could only assume was the target, Gorgon, as he recognized the half-demon from Barlour before he'd taken off. Realizing that the pair had intentions to leave and having heard Gorgon turn down the invitation to join the Council, Wrath unleashed an Earth Render that cut off the retreating Gorgon before stepping into the clearing itself, Rage Bringer resting over his shoulder. "Miss Gorgon, I strongly suggest that you reconsider. The Charred Council is the highest authority and power within reality as we know it. If you don't join us, it's our job to see your existence comes to an end here. Oh, and you," he points at the half-demon from Barlour, "that invitation is extended to you as well, though if you're here as a rep for Mundus, I suppose changing sides isn't on your to-do list, is it?" And then he waited, watching the demon and half-demon equally.

Mary nodded as the others heeded her (well, technically Souta's) suggestion and armed themselves. Mary pulled out her pistol, while still holding the tablet in her right hand, and made her way to the skylight indentation. While she was up there, Akoni brought up an interesting theory. She was unsure if it was right, but it wasn't entirely without merit. They would have to scour the books for info on who actually inhabited this place before it was abandoned.

Once Mary placed the sun tablet, a brilliant magic mechanism lit up the room, with both the floor and walls being filled with light blue lines. Mary almost gasped at the beauty, but got a hold of herself and calmed down. She gazed down the hallway like all the others. It was odd, seeing the place so tidy after all the books had been strewn about haphazardly. They had all probably found who had done the strewing though. A figure stood, silently, at the far end of the hall. Mary gripped her gun tighter. It seemed they had been right to arm themselves. There was someone in here with them. She stepped closer with them. Then, she saw who it was.

"Sevrin..."

The girl growled at the realization. He was the one responsible for the destruction of the second seal, and the current wielder of the Yamato. She just barely stopped herself from rushing at him. Her fear and rage bubbling incessantly, she completely ignored his comment about the librarian and simply gave him a death gaze that would kill any normal man. Akoni asked an odd question, and before Sevrin could respond, Mary answered for him. "That's not your Sevrin. It's a demon crawling around in his skin. We should slaughter him where he stands." She commanded. She put her pistol away, and took out the thick blade of the Burial Suit instead. Even if he had the Yamato, there was surely a way to beat him if all five of them worked together. They needed to. This demon needed to die.

Blair - Vigrid

When she managed to catch up with the two demons, they were already engaged in combat. Considering that fact they didn't engage her, Blair didn't feel the need to waste time and energy combating on foes that haven't imitated combat let alone ones that weren't even among her targets. That said, she decided to sit this out and observe the battle, which seemed to being going in the two demons favor.

However, her observant stance seemed to change as another wave of Ardors came along with several quite powerful foes. Among them was her target, an archangel and some principalities. She soon found herself staring at the champion for a moment before turning to Kushiel with an ice cold expression. I guess I can entertain him for awhile. Raising her hand in the air, countless red spikes formed in the sky and began bombarding the enemy forces.

Using the aftermath as cover for her next attack, she followed it by spreading her blood all over the place, namely Kushiel's direction. Now then.... With a snap of her fingers, the area exploded.

And so the Battle was on. As the torrent of fire blossomed underneath the Champion, followed by projectiles coming towards his position, Kushiel wasted no time as he joins in the action at hand. Yet as he prepares to attack both Lily and Fenn, he recognizes blood-red spikes coming from above. He quickly dodges them as he flies around them, while blocking a smaller one with his arms. The AT-Field within them managed to make him relatively unscathed for the meantime. As he unblocks, he prepares to charge at the enemy forces, only to recognize that the aftermath of the previous attack make a beeline towards his direction! At first, the blood droplets did nothing to him as he tries to race back to the ground...

Only to have the surrounding area explode on him.

Caught in the blast, Kushiel would've surely faltered head overheels over this attack, right? Not exactly. As the smoke begins to slowly dissipate, a powerful shockwave ripples through and pushes away the smoke and debris, via AT-Blast even going as far as having Blair probably get stunned for a second or two. Now knowing the culprit of this attack, the Archangel takes advantage of this as he makes a dash towards the Mundas General, spear in hand, as he issues several Power Slashes towards his opponent, which would follow by a powerful Power Thrust. It would be quite a combo if all were to hit their target.

As Kosara interrupts his speech, Gideon found himself crashing into a tree and ultimately falling flat on the ground. He had to admit, he wasn't exactly expecting it. Even then, he had no time to react. He groans as he slowly gets up while rubbing his head, lucky not to have received a concussion. He then glares at the other half-demon and clenches his fist in pure anger.

"Shut it, chains for brains! Who told you to interrupt me when I was trying to have a friendly conversation!”

"Says the one who interrupted my own..." he grumbles quietly as he forces himself to listen to what she had to say.

Indeed, all she had to say was utter bullshit and sounds utterly biased to him. Of course, this was to be expected, but her rude behavior against the politeness of a demon general should surely get her into some trouble. As soon as she finishes, the demon general walks slowly towards her with a nasty frown creeping over his face. He wanted to say something back, only to be interrupted by the Gorgon herself.

"I see... You of the demons offer my allegiance with the demons, and you ask me to defend this world?" she replies to Kosara.

She took a step forward and a tall upright stance as a fine straight dagger slipped out of her wrist, from which she took. She with a graceful motion of the hand threw it to the ground where it would jut out of the ground, and snakes began to pour from it. Both Gideon and Kosara began to slowly back away from the slithering horde. He wasn't sure if she was going to fight the both of them, and indeed if she did, it would be a poor choice. He considered about showing off his weapons, until once the snakes were a distance away, they stopped.

"Unfortunately for you my little flower, I have no interest in this world. It may be the one of my birth, but my desire to find my origins far outweighs some dainty little forest, let alone this world."

A silent sigh of relief ripples through the general's body as he looks at Kosara with an evil grin. The snakes began to approach her specifically, slowly creeping and trying to surround her as Gorgon's giant twin snakes kept their eyes trained on her.

"You, general of Mundus, I would like to depart as immediately as possible. I grow tired of being a queen of a droll place such as this", she demanded.

"Of course, my liege," he answers back with a light bow, "I will make~"

But before he could finish, suddenly he heard two rocket shots being fired from a distance, hitting the group of snakes that approached the half-demon. It appears that they weren't alone out here after all. Gideon quickly turns to the direction of the shots, only to see a cyborg already pointing his weapons at him.

"Hey there! Two on one seems a bit unfair, don't you think? How about I join this little party of yours."

The demon general responded by pointing Lucifer's Wings at the cyborg, not firing, but on the very brink of doing so.

"Your presence is unwanted." he coldly states to this mortal, "Leave mortal, or you will be eliminated."

This one was merely a mortal. Armed to the teeth yes, but not quite to be considered an actual threat. That however, was when a real threat came around. The Demon General hears footsteps coming from his right, along with a barrier that cut off their retreat. Around the corner, came what appears to be a nephilim... a very familiar nephilim to be exact. It was the same one he saw during the Barlour mission. Wrath was he?

"Miss Gorgon, I strongly suggest that you reconsider. The Charred Council is the highest authority and power within reality as we know it. If you don't join us, it's our job to see your existence comes to an end here. Oh, and you," he points at the half-demon from Barlour, "that invitation is extended to you as well, though if you're here as a rep for Mundus, I suppose changing sides isn't on your to-do list, is it?"

"Your "Council" reeks of corruption!" he answers back, raising his voice slightly, "You only seek total rule over the Three Realms and nothing more!"

It appears that he and Gorgon were surrounded from all sides. They had nowhere else to run. They must stand and fight to the death. However, Gideon has a few simple tricks up his sleeves. As he backs up towards the Gorgon, he decides to whisper something.

"My Queen," he mutters quietly, "Do not fret. We may be surrounded, but I can get the both of us out of here. When the time is right, I'll devise a portal for our escape. I'll give the signal, but for now, we must fend these invaders off for as long as we can."

The demons that accompanied Mundas' general began to shriek aggressively as they all lunge at their opponents in total fury.

KYL-9XX / Mitis Forest / Battle of the Clearing

The situation shifted around a lot in the following moments. As Kyle took aim at his opponent, and the demon decided to answer by aiming his own pistol at the cyborg. None of them actually started shooting, but the look in their eyes spoke for itself: Both were ready to attack if the other tried to do anything.

As tension kept rising, someone else joined the clearing, opening up a breach that stopped the demon and the Gorgon from being able to run away. Kyle risked a glance at the new arrival, taking his eyes away from the weapon that was pointed at him for a moment. A slight smile formed on his face as he realized it was Wrath who had found his way to the clearing. The odds seemed to be ever improving.

There was a short exchange between Wrath and the demon, apparently someone who worked for a Mundus. "Your "Council" reeks of corruption!" The demon shouted, "You only seek total rule over the Three Realms and nothing more!" That notion struck Kyle in a weird way. It was true, the Council was a very powerful and resourceful entity, but would they really abuse their power to rule over everything? Back when they had been given the choice to join them to protect the seals, it had sounded like they were bent on stopping the whole apocalypse thing, not going to take advantage of the situation.

Kyle’s train of thought was interrupted soon enough however, as their opponent summoned a small army of demons, that immediately rushed the cyborg and his two allies. It looked like the battle had officially started.

Four of the demons came flying towards Kyle, throwing balls of fire. They didn’t appear to be too dangerous or strong, but they were many in number, and there were also the demon himself and the Gorgon to take care of.

The cyborg took aim at the mob with his Gatling gun and started firing away.

Mitis Forest-Forest Showdown

Wrath chuckles at the half-demon's words, shaking his head. "Well if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black." However, further discussion was cut short by the appearance of a handful of demons appearing and lunging at himself and his allies. Alright, fun way it is. Noting around six of demons charging him, three from the half-demon's group and three Assault Demons, Wrath unleashes a Cleaving Slice that takes out four of them in one go, all three of the half-demon's lackeys with one of the assault demons. The remaining assault demons rush the nephilim, slashing with their claws and weapons, and Wrath leaps up and over them, landing and killing both with a slash in the Magna form.

Turning, he manages to roll out of the way of a flurry of fireballs sent his way and find brief respite behind a rock. After a second flurry, Wrath leaps over the rock and closes the distance with the trio of fireball slinging demons, slashing horizontally to put an end to all three at once. He turned, looking to see how the others were doing. Noting that they seemed alright, he turned his attention to the pair of demons and brandishes his sword, changing to the Unum Form and smiling slightly. "So, who wants to dance first?"

"Ohhhhhh that's too bad..." Kosara finally said to the gorgon as the demon made her side clear. The female half demon shook her head in dissapointment as the snakes closed on her. With her allies now showing up there was nothing else to do now, but kill some demons.

"And to think I really liked you tche..." She said in the end clicking her tongue." Guess I can make do with some sneak leather boots after all." She said, as she pulled her sword in arm, ready to strike at any invading snakes or demons. She closed her eyes as the demons charged at her, Kyle and Wrath. Suddenly pulling her crossbow with her left hand, the long talk already gave her more than enough time to charge it with all the power it needed. First thing's first, she shot towards the demons that Gideon brought. A Wind blast formed around teh bolt, and she shot the bolt low in purpose. While it wasn't the strongest wind attack ever, it was enough to deal with snakes in the way. WIth a safe paht cleared, she charged at the demons behind her.

Eyes closed for a moment as her Cascade style flared up. Her presence shifted along with her style. THe calmer and methodic presence of her Sword lotus style was replaced by the raw and powerful Cascade presence. She crashed like a cannonball into a group of about 5 of Gigeon's goons with some Assault demons some distance behind her. She had her devil trigger to use, but saved it for a curcial moment. Kosara fully expected the Mudus's lobotomites to try and escape at some point if a chance presents itself. She had never revealed her trigger to Gideon in their previous battle. With the speed boost of the trigger and her blade bloom technique, she could stop any attempts at running and injure the opponents... but that was for later or if she really needs to activate it.

She didn't even slow down as her first slash at one of hte demons happened. By the time her momentum had slowed, she was already behind the demon and a huge chunk of it fell to the side. With another big dash, she finished the first demon, only to jump away from the following fireball from another demon. She then jump slashed one that was attempting to fly away for distance. While still in the air, she slashed both his wings, and then his head off, before using the lifeless remains as a shield to block another fireball. Before the fireball even completely fanished, she jumped straight through it, delivering two slashes at the demon's wing, crashing him into the ground. With those 3 demons dead, she jumped behind another demon as fast as she can, to avoid another fireball, slashing at his back 3 times and bringing him down. By now she had just about gathered enough energy as she felt her arm restless from all the stored energy from the attacks. Raising the sword high, she jumped to the side, positioning the last remaining winged demon between her and Gideon, and then swung her sword at full strenght. Wing slash technique was unleshed, sending a powerful wave of slashing wind towards the demon in front of her, cutting through him and howling it's way towards the hell's general. This wind wave was nothing compared to those from earlier that her mother's wish caused.

With that done, she made a B line towards Kyle to make use of his weaponry for cover while she reloads her crossbow.

For all his dealings with magic in line with his duty as a Devil Arms Manufacturer, Souta seldom experienced magical locations. A little lightshow, of course, did not impress him overmuch, but he watched it all the same. Radiant gold and silver light streamed through previously unseen grooves in the architecture, creating an eye-catching display. Like clockwork, the double door swung open, revealing a portentous darkness behind. Still toting Escre over his shoulder, Souta took a few steps into the hallway before the sudden and striking change in Akoni's mood prompted him to look more closely down the nebulous corridor. Souta recognized the figure lurking in the shadows as Sevrin from the meeting in Barlour—after all, the group of Gilgamesh soldiers he traveled with found itself stalled by demons and then the diabolical commander Gideon, unable to reach the central cavern where the violation of the Eidolic Cairn occurred. He never did warm up to the snakelike creep, however, and the response of the old man confirmed the suspicions seeded by Souta's surroundings to signify Sevrin as his adversary.

The phantom warhammer Escre faded away, and a rush of water from the glowing patterns on Souta's hoodie materialized Maelstrom, to better ventilate and incinerate from afar. Mary readied herself for visceral combat, no doubt going to prove how the usual impracticality of utilizing a scythe as a weapon could be overcome by masterful hands, and in accordance Souta placed his off hand beneath the Maelstrom and leveled the barrel at Sevrin. ”Fine by me. Just leave enough of a smear so that I can make his soul into a nice trinket.” After being shot by Gideon in the underground firefight yesterday, Souta had a bone to pick with any demon, and now looked forward to spreading the same sort of hospitality to Sevrin. Even if the idea to question Sevrin did occur to the smith, he would not have done so; what kind of dangerous lunatic would just offer up poignant information to his enemies? The sooner this creep was cinders, the sooner the agents of the Charred Council could leave this place behind. Something about the shadows, the walls, and the heaving tomblike air made him uneasy.

Blair - Vigrid

Just as she planned, the Archangel took the bait and went on the defense as he took the time to dodge and block the spikes and debris, all the while, not noticing the true purpose of the blood. However, despite being caught in the blast, Kushiel managed to push back the smoke and debris via a powerful shock-wave that managed to briefly stun Blair. These few seconds would prove to be costly as it allowed the Archangel to not only identify his assailant but also charge right at her.

While she managed to recover from being stunned, it was too late as Kushiel struck her with his spear, However, she managed to avoid a fatal blow by turning at the last second as his spear to graze her side, causing Blair to stagger for a brief second. Due to the effects of the last attack, she was unable to counter his next strike as she barely managed to unsheathe and raise her twin blades, the short swords Sodom & Gomorrah, to re-direct his spear away and mitigate the damage.

Just as Kushiel went to finish his combo with a powerful thrust, Blair managed to recover her momentum and avoid the blow by jumping backwards and ducking the blow. This allowed her to spring off the ground and charge towards her opponent, letting loose her own volley of attacks. Unleashing several double slashes, using them to distract the Archangel as Blair attacked low with a leaping slash, making her go airbourne as she finished her combo mid-air by crashing down on her opponent with a down wind slash, an aerial attack with both blades.

The Champion stood back as the Allegiance charged Lily and Fenn with a small swarm of Heirarchy angels. It seems the Champion was intent on stepping in depending on the way the two demons would deal with the wild monster-like Heirarchy angels. While that was happening, Blair and the angel Kushiel were locked in combat, meaning it was up to Fenn and Lily to take out these small swarms of angels. The goal was the Champion himself, but he was fast, and careful too, it seems he too knew his worth in this fight. Would he fall, the rest would topple as well as a ripple effect, and their hold on Vigrid compromised.

"It appears they do not wish to let us leave", she began. Both her's and Gideon's demons under their command had begun fighting already, but considering their opponents they would be hard pressed to win on their own. They were impressive combatants, one after the other one today, it was intriguing to watch, never had Gorgon seen such power, and she revelled in it. She knew not why, but as a demon she followed her instincts.

She stepped forward and picked her blade up from the ground, the snakes that surrounded it disappeared, signifying that they were not physical snakes, but manifestation of her power. She held it to her side as she began to stride slowly towards the group, her giant snakes covering her flanks, also motioning to Gideon to join her. It appears she intends to fight.

"I suppose I can spare some time to entertain your fervour", she began. It seems she was intent on leaving still, but she also wished to test her might.

"I am Gorgon, Queen of this forest, you are all my first guests in many years. I expect this to be a memorable encounter", she stopped moving towards the group, her pose exuded elegance, but also an untouchable air about it. It was without doubt she was probably a fast fighter. Anyone who steps up against her will need to be careful.

"Well, I never expected that kind of hostility from a poorly made dolly", he began, referring to Mary's suggestion to destroy him where he stood, not kill, but destroy. It was probably a wise decision, probably. Still, he wasn't done talking, he turned to the group after politely sliding the book that was in his hand away. Based on the cover it didn't seem at all relevant to the seals, it was likely he already found what he needed.

"But miss milky-blood here is right, well... Half right. The 'Sevrin' you know is still here, just... Asleep, so to speak", that answered Akoni's question, but how long ago did this demon possess and take over the real Sevrin?

"As for what betraying the organization could be worth well... Let's just say it's the other way around. You guys had burned up your worth to me as soon as I destroyed that seal. Was all I needed to start really going out. God pretending to be nice and playing the good boy pissed me off a whole damn lot, a suffocating necessity, little Sevrin in here helped out a bit though... Oh did I mention it yet? He's a nice guy, pretty cooperative... Or weak. I could barely tell honestly", he was smirking under the shadow of his hat. Despite the weapons and battle stances presented against him right now, he had this confidence, this strange unsettling confidence.

Kushiel's counterattack seems to have worked as he was successful in damaging the demon general. However, as he issues his final Power Thrust, it appeared as Blair had finally recovered from the initial attack, and was able to escape by jumping backwards and ducking the blow. She then charges at the archangel, unleashing several double slashes in the process. While he was able to block them with his AT-Fielded arms, this was simply a simple distraction as Blair attacked low with a leaping slash, sending Kushiel into the sky with a grunt. It was then when Blair was able to finish her combo mid-air by crashing down on her opponent with a down wind slash, an aerial attack with both blades.

The archangel was sent soaring down to the ground, dazed, but alas far from defeated. As soon as he was able to get back to his senses, he regains his balance as he was just able to pull up before he could hit the ground. He then makes a full 180 back to where the demon general is and at very high speeds he pulls back his fist, already glowing the rainbow-colored AT-Field, as he prepares for a surprise AT-Fist. Once he got close, he issues a powerful uppercut to Blair's jaw, attempting to stun her as he finishes with a kick to her chin.

Gideon Al Ghul
~ War In The Forest ~

As the demons rushed towards their opponents, Gideon's blades began to swirl around him violently, ready to protect him at moments notice. He knows that these demons will not last within the midst of these powerful foes, but no matter, for he can also summon a limited number to help him and the Gorgon fight. Before he gets into the thick of battle, the general summons a dozen of Phantom Guards (Demonomicon) to help them out. These will be the last units he'll summon for awhile, as they began to attack their opponents, some helping Gorgon, and some helping their General.

Meanwhile, Gideon was facing that traitorous wretch Kosara. She issues a powerful wing-slash technique that sliced another imp demon down as it howls towards the general. He dodges the first wave easily as he rolls to the side. He then takes aim at the other half-demon and fires Lucifer's Wings' Fourshot technique. Seeing as Kosara was heading towards the cyborg for cover, he quickly orders the Guards closest to him to go on the offensive. Four would lunge at KYL with scythes at hand, using the other imps at front as a distraction, another four would then attack Kosara while he's occupied, and the remaining four lunged at Wrath from all sides. Weather these demons will work or not, Gideon will have just one last opportunity to summon some more before he has to let it cool down for the day... he better make this count, for his sake, Mundas' sake, and the Gorgon's.

Akoni's eyes narrowed in anger. Lammasu responded by growing the blades on its knuckles, and Akoni forced himself back under control. The gauntlet devil arm reverted to its standard form. Thinking rationally, he needed to make sure that the team was in a better position to battle this creature. The darkness behind Sevrin was unnerving, while they were all grouped together. One slash from the legendary Yamato and... Best not to think about that. Keep it talking. Stall until the team can position itself better. Encourage it to let slip something useful. "You answered my question to the letter without honoring the spirit of its meaning," the old mage responded, his tone now as calm as a man asking for a spot of tea. "Why don't you tell us your real identity, since all pretenses have been dropped? And really, what can you possibly gain from bringing about Armageddon? Humanity has proven too strong for Hell to subjugate in the past, and the destruction of the seals means also contending with the Army of Light, the Hierarchy of Laguna, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Queen Shiba is no saint, but she respects the balance, and I doubt even Mundus himself would wish to fight that many enemies all at once."

As Akoni spoke, he cast two simple and innocuous spells. The first was another torchlight, which he sent whirling behind the possessed Sevrin. Once there, it would split into multiple sources of light, hopefully illuminating the secret chamber behind their enemy. As for his second spell, a normal Identification only would reveal to Akoni the name of the shell, Sevrin. He had to go deeper. Calling upon a stronger version of the cantrip, Akoni's mind attempted to reach passed the mortal shell of Sevrin, into the demonic soul within. Name. Name. What is... Your name?

Mitis Forest-Forest Showdown

Wrath watched Gorgon retrieve her weapon and slid a little more into a ready stance, unsure of what it was that she would actually do. However, before the nephilim could move, he found himself rushed by four Phantom Guards from four sides, all swinging their scythes. Well that was dumb. Instead of attempting to counter the attacks, which would result in a very painful day, Wrath ducks the strikes, letting the four scythes get tangles up in each other and then going back to the Magna stance and slicing the group in half with a circular slash before turning his attention towards the two head demons. "Alright, so time to quit giving you two time to call in help." Slashing horizontally, he unleashes a Cleaving Slice towards the pair before shifting to Unum and attacking Gorgon with a Crushing Slash, an attack he fully anticipated would either be dodged and countered or blocked and countered.

Still, he knew he had to keep her busy so that his allies could get the Mundus' half-demon to either retreat or surrender. This is one of those times I REALLY wish I'd asked Uriel for some back up...

KYL-9XX / Mitis Forest / Battle of the Clearing

The group dispatched the little force of demons rather quickly. Kyle was once again impressed by the power of his comrades, each of them exceling in their own way. Wrath was very able with his sword, slashing anything that even tried to come close. Kosara was a wild and agile fighter, unleashing one barrage of arrows after the other in quick succession. His gatling gun made quick work of the demons attacking him as well; it seemed like they were more a means of distraction than actual danger.

The party opposing them was getting ready for a full-blown attack. The Gorgon picked up its sword, gave a few quick words, and stood still a few feet in front of them. Her appearance was imposing, a declaration that anyone attacking her would need to be careful. The half-demon was setting up something as well, once again summoning a small army of demon forces. The fiends quickly split up and attacked each of the Charred Council's agents. Kosara was coming Kyle's way, apparently wanting to use him for cover. There were for demons coming his way, and other were about to attack Kosara from behind. He decided to move in front of her to save her from the ambush.

His thrusters started up, allowing him to swiftly close the distance between him and his ally. Meanwhile, his gatling gun took aim and fired at the demons, one after the other, making sure none got away in the midst of battle. As Kosara moved behind him, Kyle switched to his Rhino module, and shot two quick rockets at the half-demon.

If they wanted to win this fight, they would need to focus less on the underlings, and beat their actual two opponents.

Mitis Forest.

Kosara’s mobility was no doubt impressive, she may have dashed towards the cyborg earlier, but she still kept an eye on the other half demon. As Gideon fired 4 shots at her, she was barely able to evade them with a highspeed side step and a move of her sword to block a bullet. Still two of the bullets grazed her arm, leaving a small blood trail. She smirked as the cyborg actually sprung in action and came to cover her for a moment.

“Don’t get overwhelmed… I will leave the riffraff for you to deal with…” She said to Kyle and to a step back behind further and turned in the direction of Gideon. She full well understood they needed to press the bigger targets. Wrath was dealing with the gorgon so he may need some help, but Gideon was already her dancing partner.

Not even a few seconds after she came in cover behind the cyborg, Kosara was already dashing back towards Gideon from the side. She was fast enough to evade and outrun the phantom guards. She had just halved the distanced between them as she muttered something to herself with a huge grin. If Gideon could read her lips he would understand what she said full well – “I’ve been waiting for this!”

In a moment violent energy waves burst out of Kosara. Everything around her filled with bluish and orange energy as her body transformed under the effects of her devil trigger, unleashing her demonic form. Her skin turned light blue, and her hair turned into hundred of long flexible blades blowing in the wind. Her body frame changed a little as her muscled grew a little, making obvious her strength grew. Big burning red scaled covered her arms up the the elbows and a magma red core was visible on her chest above her heart, spreading burning veins across her torso. A pure white helmet covered her head, showing no visible openings. Her legs had transformed also into slightly more beast like feet, with big claws where her fingers were and a blade extruding from her heel forming well natural deadly sharp heels.

The whole transformation took a moment, but when it was done, her world perceptions shifted. Using her Lighting dash move from her trigger transformation she headed straight at the demon general at speed a lot greater than anything she had showed before. Once in range she started to unleash a simple flurry of slashes at her opponent, making full use of her boosted abilities. There was no need to fancy techniques at this moment in her mind as she had switched to her Cascade style to build up power.

Lily and Fenn watched as the stranger shadowing them finally revealed their hand, in the form of bloody spears raining on the angels before them. The Angel Champion they had been sent to hunt and his own retinue of guards quickly distanced himself from the front lines, allowing the Hierarchy angels to take the brunt of the assault. The smartest among them were quick to move behind the armored figures of the Ardors and Allegiance as they rose their shields against the onslaught. Others among them were not so lucky, the spears claiming the lives of some of their rank, and claiming the wings of many more.

Still, most of the smaller angels managed to survive the assault with wounds light enough to continue fighting.

That was, at least, until blood suddenly splattered onto the streets between the two groups, most of it at the feet of the boy who had claimed to be an archangel.

It seemed innocent enough, but knowing that it was the blood of a demon spoke volumes of its capabilities. Staying near it would do them no good. Muscles coiled, Lily jumped away from the splatter of blood, narrowly avoiding the resulting explosion. She landed several metres back, skidding to a stop with her claws dragging shallow gouges into the ground.

Even as she righted herself, her attention was drawn to the fight between their demonic tag-along, and the self-proclaimed Archangel. Their tag-along was by no means a bad fighter, she was just not the best. Lily watched her with pursed lips, taking note of her individual attacks, her stance, footwork, and not to mention how and when she took to the offense. What she saw made her grimace. “He’s using a spear!” She called out. “Get in close where he can’t use it!”

That out of the way, she turned back to the small horde of angelic minions, scanning their ranks. “Almost fifteen against two… Bad odds, Fenn,” she muttered, loud enough for her companion to hear.

From up ahead, the sounds of clanking metal could be heard as the remaining angels reared to run them down, the Allegiance golden armor and the remaining Ardors crimson shields clearly visible among the survivors of the blast.

“Then even them,” Fenn growled from the edges of the thin, red mist, eyes fixed forward and out of her view. The tone of barely contained menace, however, told her the hound was moments away from charging the enemy line himself.

“That would only make it all the more unfair for them,” she laughed, stepping forward to stand beside him. “But there’ll be time to think about odds later.” A menacing grin crept upon her lips, her elongated canines all but glinting in the sun. “The time for talk is over. Sic ‘em, Fenn!”

As though an invisible chain had been loosened from his neck, the dog darted forward with fearsome speed and a hungry snarl. An Affinity, one of the smaller, avian angels that had been blasted forward by the explosion had enough time to raise its gaze towards the oncoming monster, loping forward on three legs, an Ardor’s sword held outwards by one of its long limbs, before a tree trunk arm fell over it, crushing its head against the pavement.

Lily followed close behind, hammer in her hands and murder in her eyes. A Compassion which had eluded Fenn’s charge came at her, only to come to a grisly end when its face met Lily’s hammer. She jumped, vaulting over another compassion, and came face to face with an Affinity. It fell dead less than a second later, its heart—if it even had one—pierced by the warhammer-turned-rapier.

She had to give the angels credit. They didn’t run, not even when Fenn trampled them like a child would a sandcastle, or when Lily’s weapon crushed or pierced their armour as if it was paper. Of course, what else would one expect of the weakest, and most mindless, of their numbers? And stragglers of that explosion. Their chicken brains were likely too rattled to move out of the way.

The Allegiance, the largest among the core of charging angels, had gathered surprising momentum, and was leading the charge against them. With feline grace, Lily overtook Fenn, and could almost feel it as the centaur’s regard shifted to her. As she neared, the Allegiance’s blade lashed out with the clear intent of cleaving her in half.

She did not even try to move out of the way.

Fenn’s stolen blade crashed against the Allegiance’s sword with an impact that made her teeth clatter, throwing it off course. Of course, the dog wielded the blade like little more than a slab of metal, and had little interest in a demonstration of swordsmanship. The titans crashed against each other without barely slowing down, and Lily could see the hellhound’s slitted eyes constricted into bloodshot pinpricks.

And then she was past them, among the rest of the rabble. She redirected an Ardor’s slash at her throat, using the following shield bash as a springboard to propel herself into the air, where her body caught flame, shedding its fleshy form in favour of that of a pure elemental.

Around her, several motes of fire sprung into being, multiplying even as they grew in size. The temperature rose, growing nearly unbearable for mortals were they in her vicinity. And as it reached its apex, barely a handful of seconds later, hell was unleashed upon earth. Each of the motes took off from their respective positions, aimed at the ground below. Muted booms from where the orbs impacted upon the earth echoed throughout the street, each orb cracking the pavement, knocking down whomever or whatever it hit, setting it and everything around them aflame. Those who avoided being set aflame instantly sought shelter where they could, be it around their larger and stronger allies, or even in the vicinity of the hellhound, whose bulk shrugged off more than just a few of her orbs.

Amidst the chaos, Fenn had pushed the Allegiance aside and clambered onto its back, jostling back and forth as the thing tried to throw the dog off its perch. Pieces of bloodied gold flew into the air as the dog bit into the armor and mauled the back plate with the pommel of the stolen sword. There was something to be said about the centaur’s legs not immediately buckling under the weight.

I’m not done yet! Lily thought even as the barrage of hellfire continued raining from the sky. She brought her hands up above her, an orb of fire a particularly angry shade of red formed in between her palms. It pulsed once, twice.

She felt the Allegiance’s gaze on her then, and its buckling redoubled in intensity. Fenn’s claw slipped over the metal and fell to the streets. The centaur turned and charged at Fenn.

Lily threw her hands down, the orb following.

The dog turned and stood in time to slap away another swing of the sword, but the Allegiance still crashed onto him at full throttle. Gold and white, tons of flesh and metal, slammed into the demon, sending the both of them crashing through a brick wall and into an adjacent building.

The orb fell to the street below.

One unlucky Ardor, the one whose armour was cracked in several places from their earlier scuffle, had attempted to throw its shield over an Affinity to protect it from her barrage. In doing so, however, it left itself open. The explosion that followed cooked it inside its armour. The Affinity fared little better, and a shockwave of destruction erupted from there, knocking minor angels aside, and wounding most others in a miniature supernova.

Blair - Vigrid

Succeeding, Blair's attacks connected as she sent Kushiel crashing towards the ground. However, like last time, her successive attacks weren't even close in finishing off the archangel as he managed to regain his senses and pulled up before hitting the ground. Glaring at the angel in silence as Kushiel turned around and charged right at her. Not seeing his fist until the last second, she turned head as fast as she could to dodge the attack, however, while missing her jaw, the attack crashed right into her right cheek.

Slightly stunned, she wasn't able to react in time as Kushiel delivered a powerful kick to her chin, sending Blair flying. As she slowly rised from the ground, Blair began emitting a thick bloodlust, a clear sign of having changed to her Blood Rage Form. Sheathing her twin blades, she took out Zalmonah, a demonic long spear with countless barbs at the end that pierces the flesh of it's victims, gutting them/causing internal damage upon removing it. The previous calm expression was replaced by a deranged grin as raised her spear and charged at Kushiel.

Getting in range of her spear, she unleashes a flurry of piercing thrusts at her opponent, edging closer and closer towards her foe. Moving in as close as she can, while continuing her thrusts, she unexpectedly delivers a crunch stomp to Kushiel's knees, with an intent to use her spear as a baseball bat and crush his melon with a Batter up!

With the Mundas general already going into a frenzy like stage, the archangel needed to tread carefully. In replacement of her blades, Blair whips out a spear of her own. It seems like the two are technically on equal footing weapon-wise, with Kushiel's being a double-bladed helix "trident", while hers has barbs at the end to pierce her opponent with. It was the Spear of Longinus versus the Spear of Zalmonah. Both must be careful of each other's weaponry, for if they get too careless, they can both receive a slow and excruciating death from one another.

Suddenly, the Mundas general charges, raising her spear as she unleashes a fury of thrusts at Kushiel. The archangel was able to block most of the attacks with his spear and AT-Fists at times, but some were able to slash at his side. Despite this, he took only minor attention to them. However, he didn't monitor how close she was approaching and thus she stomped him right in the knees. Kushiel grunts as he looses concentration for a bit as he kneels on the ground. With Blair going to decapitate him with her Batter Up! technique, it looks as if he's done for...

However, as she swung her blade, it would find itself in between the gap of the Spear of Longinus, unable to move forward anymore. One good thing with using a "trident" spear, is that it can lock onto other attacking spears, being able to catch them in mid air. This technique has saved Kushiel's life and now he's pissed.

Kushiel begins to initiate his next Style technique, "Sentinel Angelica - Graveolentiam", for it was time that he finally goes fully on the offensive. He arches the spear to his right, carrying Zalmorah as it leaves Blair wide open. The archangel quickly takes the opportunity, once his blade traps Blair's at the ground, to issue a powerful dropkick right at her chest, sending her flying backwards. Since the Spear of Longinus was able to trap the rival's Zalmorah, since its barbs would've gotten stuck, having it be unable to pull out, Kushiel was now in possession with both a spear of light... and a spear of darkness. He pulls his spear from the ground with his right hand and grabs the other in his left. It's time to battle with dual spears.

"Your indeed strong, demon witch," he announces as he crosses them in an X formation, "Fast too, but I'm afraid your rage is beginning to blind you."

He thought about throwing one of the spears at her while she was down, but he decided to not waste his opportunity on wielding the enemy's weapon, despite she having some extra backup ones with her.

While the nephilim was dealing with the Gorgon, Gideon was already facing KYL and Kosara in a two on one battle. His guardsmen may be doing not the absolute best at the moment, they really didn't matter. They were meant to distract them at the very least. If they really wanted to fight him, they'll regret it.

The cyborg first attacks as he fires two quick rockets at him. Already having his blades whirl around him, the Demon general orders two blades to intercept them as he issues a Spear to quickly attack him. However, not long after he fired them, Kosara seems to be back in the fight as she slashes several phantom guards on her way. Gideon quickly looks over to his right side to find her coming about. Reading her lips, he knew that she had something up her sleeve.

And how right he was, because the next thing he knew, Kosara changed into her demonic form. It was an interesting design choice to say the least, but no time to comment how it is. The rival quickly makes a dash at Gideon with incredible speed, succeeding to knock the general back and stunning him for a quick second. Then the slashes came, with the first initial 3 having slashed through his chest and left arm. However, his blades came quickly to his aid as they began to block all the rest of the strikes with ease. Taking this opportunity, he equips his right hand with a Bone Gauntlet, and initiates the Raging Claw buff, which is designed to combat these kinds of foes, while being stronger at slightly longer thanks to the energy buff. He then issues a sweeping side swipe at the opponent, pushing her to the side with sheer power if it happens to connect.

It was finally time to get serious.

"I'll certainly try." Said Mary, in reply to her friend Souta. He too, was gearing up for the imminent destruction of their adversary. He summoned up some sort of miniature cannon from his clothes. He placed his hands under it as if he was ready to fire. Mary, too, got into position.

Mary growled again as Sevrin spoke to her. Though she didn't really understand his "dolly" comment, she assumed it was a jab at her pale complexion, or her petite features. Honestly it wouldn't have bothered her that much coming from anyone else. It was more about the fact that he was still standing there, smugly, smiling as if he had the upper hand in a five against one fight. As he placed down his book, she took a step forward, teeth gritted behind her neutral expression. But then she stopped.

Apparently, Sevrin, the real one, was still there. Asleep, trapped inside his own body as it was being controlled by a vile demon. Her face softened. He must've been in pure hell, probably still is. They couldn't risk destroying Sevrin's body. Not currently, when he wasn't even near a seal. She stepped back a tad, ignoring Sevrin's comment and trying to think of what to do. They had to exorcise him. Her mind raced with ideas of what to do. She didn't have the materials to attempt a demonic banishment ritual, nor the time to grab them. Akoni asked some innocuous questions, presumably to stall for time. Maybe he had the ability to remove the demon? It was a long shot, but not entirely impossible. She got a tad closer to Akoni, and asked him, in a hushed tone, "We shouldn't risk your friends life. Do you have any exorcising spells?" After this she quickly repositioned herself to his right and his front. Here she was closer to Sevrin, but farther from the main group. The Yamato swiped in large swaths. If they were grouped up, it would spell their doom.

A grunting snarl escaped Fenn’s throat as the full mass of the Allegiance collided against him. In a startling show of strength, the impact barely slowed the centaur’s charge as it moved the both of them out of the rain of fire. It mattered little to the demon. It just meant the enemy was within easy reach.

Fenn’s fangs closed on the angel’s shoulder, where the armor had been stripped off. The taste of iron filled his mouth before they crashed against the adjacent building. The shuddering impact loosened his one armed grip on the angel’s armor. A second crash against a pillar managed to dislodge him, and he fell to the wayside.

The dog began to roll upright even as the sound of hoof falls turned and closed again. The Allegiance’s sword swept down, illuminated by the fiery light coming from outside. It crashed against the Ardor’s blade and was held in place, the metal groaning under the strain.

The dog stared up at the golden figure. Then swallowed the flesh he had torn from its shoulder.

He pushed, forcing the blades apart, forcing the heavy figure of the Allegiance to retreat a step. Fenn moved to claim the lost ground almost immediately, and the stolen blade struck the angel’s shield with enough force to rock it back against one of the several box-laden, metal scaffolds that dotted the interior of the building. Growling through bloodied fangs, Fenn pounced.

This angel was soft under that armor, just as soft as all the others they had torn apart to get there. Oh, it was larger, to be sure, and the missing chunk of muscle on its shoulder barely seemed to inconvenience it, but Fenn had to wonder just how much he could tear off before it stopped moving. The moment he got a decent grip on the centaur, the moment he got past the golden armor, its fate was sealed. The Allegiance must have known this as well as him, for as the hound’s claws neared it, its blade slid between them. Pain blossomed in his open palm. The angel’s shield suddenly swept upwards, striking the side of his jaw and Fenn staggered to the side.

He barely managed a stumbling step before two heavy objects planted themselves under his arm. Ribs creaked under the weight of gold-clad hooves and the Hellhound toppled, crashing over the boxes and metal.

A new light illuminated the room, and a clicking metal noise came from the Allegiance’s position. Fenn rolled onto all fours, ignoring the pulsating pain on his side, and bared his fangs in the angel’s direction.

The centaur’s sword was raised over its head. It had split into segments, all encapsulated in a string of roiling fire that swept outwards like a bladed whip as the arm came down. Fenn raised the Ardor’s sword. It crashed against one of the bladed spurs, but the whip merely wrapped around it. Fenn hissed as the next blade struck near his neck, grinding against his collarbones, while others struck the scales on his back.

Fenn’s muzzle twisted into a toothy smile as flame surrounded his left claw, spread open on the ground. A pillar of fire erupted from the ground beneath the Allegiance washing over its armor and obscuring its vision. Blood and smoke welled from Fenn’s injuries as the bladed whip was drawn back.

The Hellhound moved with it, the angelic blade still clutched tightly in one long limb, and swung at the obscured form of the angel. The flame was extinguished as quickly as it had started, revealing the Allegiance with its shield at the ready, but Fenn was not aiming at the centaur’s torso. The serrated blade struck one of its forelegs, the terrible force of the blow pushing it past the golden armor like a hot knife through butter. Metal bent, bone crumpled, and the limb flew into the depths of the warehouse.

The Allegiance reared, clumsily trying to stumble away on its remaining limbs. Fenn closed, drew his right arm backwards, and swung his sword forward. The angel hastily rose its shield. The golden sword struck with a sound like an explosion and shattered, the force of the blow knocking the centaur off-balance. Heavy, clattering noises filled their surroundings as the armored form of the Allegiance toppled onto its side.

Fenn wasted no time falling over it. He pushed aside a vainly raised shield, using it to pin down the Allegiance’s sword arm. The angel struggled, trying to push away the demon and stand up again, even if it was on three legs, but there was little chance for that at that point. Fenn was known for his strength, and he had all the leverage.

One of his tree-trunk limbs rose slowly, as if cocking the hammer of a gun, clawed digits closed into a fist. Fenn brought it down under the angel’s arms. Armor cracked. The Allegiance tensed, ceasing its struggle for a moment, as though the breath had been knocked out from it, before redoubling its efforts. The arm was raised again, then fell. A spider web of fissures ran through the plates.

Fenn raised his arm, but this time the digits were spread open, claws bared. The arm fell down. Metal bent, bone crumpled, and the hound’s large claws plunged into the centaur’s rib-cage. Once again the centaur tensed, but as Fenn began pushing out to the side, the angel’s struggles suddenly reached a fever pitch. With a clicking sound, armor fell out of place and clattered onto the floor. Flesh stretched and, with a grunt of exertion, the demon’s arm burst through the front of the Allegiance’s chest, spilling red over the warehouse floor.

The Hellhound looked down onto the still corpse, absentmindedly licking his muzzle as blood and smoke hissed from the wounds he had sustained before glancing outside. As entertaining as this bout had been, it was not the angel they had been ordered to kill.
