"Drunkenness is nothing but voluntary madness." -Seneca
Name:Dennis Alexander Tennyson
Nickname:Den- Hates the name Dennis and refuses to acknowledge it as his, believes it to be to blasé for someone such as himself.
Birth Date:January 5th, 1996
Age:20
Gender:Male
Sexuality:Pansexual
In Depth Appearance:Dennis often possesses a perpetual glint in his hazel eyes that seems to mimic that of a predatory animal. He stands at six foot two inches and weighs around one hundred and sixty five pounds, all in all a rather athletic build that while not muscular, is lithe and toned. Den's hair is obviously well maintained and often his long brown locks are seen down. His appearance is generally well put together and it is only on very rare circumstances that he can be seen not in such a state. He lacks any facial hair and to remain as such freshly shaves every morning. Den possesses no tattoos or body piercings.
Clothing Style:Den's style of dress is generally a step above normal or casual, and just slightly below runway material. His clothes are trendy but generally fall on the darker spectrum of the color palette. He is also generally wearing at least two layers of clothing as he always has a jacket of some sort with him.
Quirks/Oddities/Habits- Never uses or keeps change. Den actively despises change, he hates the way it jingles in his pockets and how it weighs the pockets down.
- Highly addictive personality. Perhaps due to his godly parentage or the genealogy along his human side Den is rather easily addicted to things. This is most true for substances such as drugs or alcohol, but do occasionally hold true to other activities or items.
- High tolerance. Due to a high metabolism and high amounts of usage Den has a higher tolerance than most for alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and the like.
- Essentially nocturnal. All the best parties either start late in the evening or well into the night, and as such Den has warped his sleep habits to fit.
- Steps on staircases. Consistently counts the number of steps it takes to get up or down a set of stairs.
Likes:- Parties. Den lives for a good party no matter the scene, as long as he can have some fun, he doesn't care.
- Cigarettes. While particularly not actually a fan of the taste, he actively enjoys the smell of cigarette smoke.
- New things. If something is new to Den it will almost always catch his eye.
- Music. An absolute necessity for any party, and nice in any other situation as well. In Den's opinion the gods seriously screwed up by not creating background music for everyday life.
- Decompressing. Despite his love of partying, even Den gets tired and worn out, in those moment he loves to decompress. Relaxing in a cozy seat and reading/smoking or just seating/smoking.
Dislikes:- Bad alcohol. Can't stand crappy alcohol, especially beer. If he is going to drink it has to be basically anything but beer.
- Vapes. Vaporizers got rid if the best part of smoking, the smell. Fuck not dying of lung cancer, just keep that wonderfully amazing smell.
- People who call the cops. No matter the circumstance, a party should never have the cops called on it, that is just a dick move.
- Losing control. Whether being controlled by anyone or anything, or just losing it, Den cannot tolerate not being in control. Thus to an extent he hates his own addictive personality.
- Uncivilized people. The thing that Den dislikes the least though is uncivilized individuals. He absolutely despises them, even more so than change (stupid coins get everywhere).
Fears:- Doing nothing worth being remembered for.
- Not being civilized enough, failing to repress his less than civilized behaviors.
- Amnesia, having to start from scratch, and forgetting himself.
Personality:♦ Confident ♦ Social ♦ Impulsive ♦ Secretive
Den is far from the most upstanding citizen you will ever meet, but that doesn't mean he is necessarily a bad fellow. He is generally well-mannered and accepting, even if given his proclivity towards partying. It is clear that Den is truly a social creature, he has no qualms drifting amongst any number of people and often finds people to hang with. However, despite his socialness, he doesn't have any individuals he really calls friends, mostly due to his somewhat secretive nature.
While he seems rather confident in his actions, Den is also somewhat unsure of himself.
He actively corrects himself on civilized behavior and attempts to keep himself in check while still having fun, a hard balance to strike. As he fears losing control, in moments in which he feels himself slipping, he will often begin to act in an almost paranoid fashion
Background:Dennis was conceived in a fit of passion, how else does one expect the child of a god known for having a good time to be spawned. His mother had been out parting one night while her husband was away on a businesses trip, when she met Dionysus. She had supposedly been a fair combination of drunk and high when she decided to sleep with the god, at the very least that was what she told her husband, when she later found out she was pregnant. Being a man of forgiveness, Den's father looked past the discretion and instead towards the idea of a child.
From the very beginning Den's life was fairly easy, his human father was a successful stockbroker, or some bullshit like that, honestly he had never cared enough to pay attention. His parents and he got along, in as much sense as parents and their children get along, there were spats, arguments, apologies, family trips, the usual basic family garbage. Perhaps, just a tad different than basic actually seeing as their income put them above the upper middle class bracket and a penthouse in New York City may be just a tad off from the usual family, but let's just digress.
Generally speaking for the first thirteen or so years of his life Dennis was rather well-mannered, civilized, and perhaps even gentrified. However, as with all children he soon hit his rebellious stage and it was quite a tad more shocking than was to be expected. Quickly Dennis, know answering only to Den, became involved with more unsavory and older teens, and fell into the partying habit. It was also soon after this that his godly abilities began to arise, not that he knew of them. On occasion despite current sobriety he would feel as if under the effects of LSA or LSD and other times ecstasy.
By the time of his fifteenth birthday, Den had realized that something was off with him, and had been fighting to bury it under drugs and alcohol. To such an extent that he would lose almost full weeks of time. On his fifteenth birthday he did what had begun to feel natural to him, he partied, and it was also when he met Dionysus for the first time. Surprisingly, Den and Dionysus got along fairly well despite the whole real father who abandoned him stuff, sure the whole god stuff was weird but Den adapted quickly enough.
Occasionally, the two would run into each other over the next year, and Den would attempt to drink Dionysus under the table. To no avail. Then shortly before his sixteenth birthday Dionysus showed again to convince Den to attend Olympus Academy, not that it really required anything much, really just the mention and Den was off to the academy, where he has been since.
Extra:Tough question, probably Hephaestus.
Godly Parent:Dionysus
Relationship With Godly Parent:Closer than one might think. As Den holds no ill will towards Dionysus, he has had no qualms with interacting with the god. Although, their relationship is less one of father and son, and much more that of occasional drinking buddies, even if it does result in Den face first on the floor, or actually quite more often face first in a gutter.
Godly Abilities:Aura of Madness- Den can give off an aura of ten foot radius that causes those within to go temporarily insane, it will wear off quicker once outside the radius. The strength of the power is affected by his emotional state though, and as such the madness varies on that, it can be like mild LSA or in extreme cases full onset schizophrenia. However it can when he is extremely off, affect him too.
Touch of Euphoria- Den can cause strong amounts of ecstasy in individuals when he touches them. It can last past the touch if he concentrates.
