Day II: A song that Helps you Clear Your Head...

Peace. Peace. Where art thou?

In the midst of disorder and insanity,

Calamity-- It disavow.

DAY TWO - A song that helps you clear your head
Well, right off the bat, Hold Me Down is my favourite track from BADLANDS by far, but the soothing tones of this acoustic version - which differs highly from its' album counterpart - are a great way to help me relax.

Day 2 - A Song That Helps You Clear Your Head

I feel calm when listening to...

I jumped onto the hype train a little late with this song, but the relaxing introduction notes and the general atmosphere always seem to calm me down and make me imagine a different place and time. :) I've always loved sweater weather in the autumn, so I just imagine being there and being warm and bundled up in a comfy sweater, and suddenly, I feel much calmer and more focused.

i love you for this song omg
might i suggest the version of sweater weather performed by a channel called postmodern jukebox, it really does the original justice and adds a little extra 'oomph' to it.
(sorry i just really like this song)

Day II - A Song that Helps you Clear your Head

Today's choice was a bit difficult because I ahve a lot of songs that I have that help me clear my head. This one by 30STM came to me just out of nowhere. I just love how Jared Leto's vocals are so natural and raw in this acoustic version of it. Plus, the violin and guitar work so well together. I prefer this 3-something-minute version as compared to the unnecessarily-long , 13-minute version on the album.

Day 2 - Song to clear ya head

I don't even know why, it's not the lyrics. The beat maybe. This one was really difficult, I don't think I ever listen to music for the purpose of clearing my head.

Day 2 // A song that helps you clear your head.

Originally, I was going to post two different songs before this one, but I think they would be better suited for different days in the 30 Day Song Challenge. For this very reason, I went for Black Balloon instead and to be honest with you: I had no idea that this song had such positive effects on my mentality. I didn't even discover this song until August 16th which is when I went to see Goo Goo Dolls live. I immediately heard this song and fell in love. And if there's anything I learned about clearing my head, it's to do it when I'm anxious. What has made me anxious lately?

Airplanes.

Today, I had to fly in an airplane by my lonesome for the first time ever. Yesterday, one of my close friends was pronounced dead. When I was getting ready for my flight, I was listening to this song and when I heard about my friend's death, I was listening to this song as well. While there's nothing particularly calming about this song, I totally associate Goo Goo Dolls with safe travels (I watched planes take off all night during their concert so the good association is there) and for some reason, it's comforting in a time of loss.

For these very reasons, I consider "Black Balloon" to be a song that helps me clear my head.

Day 1 - A song that makes you happy

(I'd share the video, but it's not for all ages.) This song reminds me of a really fun/risky time of my life, partly due to the lyrics and partly because I was OBSESSED with this song during that era. The melody is upbeat and fun, yet isn't too "poppy" for me. Also, Matty Healy...

Day 2 - A song that helps you clear your head

Usually when I need to clear my head, it means I need to relax as well. This song is very calm and soothing without being boring or getting old. Plus, the bass sounds really nice with a system :-)

Sorry this is so plain by the way. It's kind of my thing to keep things ugly around here.

Day 2 - Helps Clear My Head

I can't for the life of me relax when anything with a very active beat or lyrics is playing, so I'm not usually the kind of guy who listens to music to clear my head or anything. However, when I do want to turn my brain off and focus on something, I'll listen to this.

Maybe it's a Pavlovian tick associated with the whole 'stop thinking and play Skyrim for ages' thing. Maybe it's Maybelline. Whatever the case, it's as Todd Howard once said: it just works.

Day 02 - A Song What Helps Me Clear My Head

I don't really use music as a method of clearing my head but I just turned the 'clear your head' into 'something you listen to when you're relaxing after shootin some b-ball outside after school' and the song that leapt to mind was Que Sera by Wax Tailor. There's just something inherently relaxing about smooth trip hop and Wax Tailor is certainly a professional in that particular genre. I dunno, it's just a smooth song to listen to and just kick it to. There's no shitty lyrics trying to be deep, no warbly terrible singer, just good beats and great vibes. I can dig it.

Day 01 - A song that makes you happy

When I hear this song I am instantly reminded of my childhood. This song is from the soundtrack of You Got Served, which has been my favorite movie since It first came out in 2004. B2K was also my favorite boy group at the time.

Dramatic princes singing about their love for their princesses but being totally into themselves? Yeah. This was funny. Both Broadway and movie version.

God, this song had made me crack up for years and years. Don't know if it is because it is a sick and twisted parody or because I am sick and twisted. Either way don't care, giggling my ass off like a mad woman watching it right now.

Day 03 - A Song What Makes Me Laugh

Cibo Matto was always kind of a weird band but weird in that catchy, funky, fun kind of way. It's the brain child of two Japanese women, Miho Hattori and Yuka Honda, the former of whom was the first voice of Noodle in Gorillaz. In 1999 they added Sean Lennon (John Lennon's son) and Timo Ellis and performed as a quartet and released 'Stereo Type A' their second album (Viva La Woman, their first, is an amazing album too). In 2014 Cibo Matto released a new album with just Yuka and Miho called 'Hotel Valentine' and it's a 'concept album' in very loose terms about ghosts and aliens that stay in a hotel. Because Yuka Honda and Miho Hattori are kind of fucking crazy in the best possible way and a concept album about ghosts and hotels is just par for the course with Cibo Matto.

MFN (Motherfuckin Nature) makes me laugh for a couple of reasons. The first being that they got Reggie Watts to guest for like fifteen seconds of him playing a trumpet sound and a minor voice spot. The second because it's a song about a ghost being an asshole in a hotel sandwiched between a song about isolation being the norm or whatever.

Yo, I'm a ghost, I'm stuck in this place
Don't chase me, I blazed a joint while you were deep with sleep
Cuz the room service was dead slow, it got no flow
You ate oyster, lobster, french bread and butter
You hallucinated, liberated, fascinated, vibrated, tolerated
The chocolate melted

And the part that always makes me laugh is just the visual image of Miho shouting

Don't tell me "what the hell?" I'm a ghost
Don't throw the fucking oyster shell at me

Just...a ghost being pissed that housekeeping is throwing oyster shells at him because he's an asshole.

It makes me laugh and also the world needs more Cibo Matto. Keep on being fuckin crazy awesome you beautiful people.

Day III: A song that Makes You Laugh...

Perhaps I've seen too much parodies of this song. Nevertheless, there isn't much to say about it.
