Day 9 - a song that makes me want to dance

Oh my god I have a ton of these. I could've linked my entire Pendulum or Knife Party (coincidence?) collection. The bangers from Dirtyphonics or RL Grime. The whole Stunt Rhythms album from Two Fingers is filled with some sick glitch hop too. Noisia's grimy DmC soundtrack or heck, even the Undertale OST and its variations! And that's just a glimpse. It may just be that most music makes me want to move, oh well!

In the end, I chose something that has a connection to the Roleplayer Guild as well. It was shown to me by my first true (and still one of my best) RP partner, @Angel Vicky. Wherever you are now Vicky, this track goes out to you! <3

Day 10 - a song that makes me cry

This one's also been one of my go-to ‘sad songs’ whenever I wanted to get in the mood for whatever reason. However, life's twists and turns made it so that I have gained a personal connection to this track and its lyrics. It has a special place in my heart as a reminder of a time that has long passed.

I chased your love around a figure 8
I need you more than I can take
You promised forever and a day
And then you take it all away

Damn, I definitely loved her more than I could take.

DAY NINE - A song that makes you want to dance
C'mon. It's a fucking lit-as-shit anthem.
DAY TEN - A song that makes you cry
Basically, whenever I listen to this song, I'm overwhelmed with memories of my late uncle. The Hobbit was our favourite movie, and we spent a lot of time together, at his flat, watching it on the TV (his shelf was lined to the brim with awesome movies and TV shows). One of the first times I discovered his love for the movie was when we were talking about things we liked to do in our spare time, and I mentioned that I'd listen to this song at least once a day. Now, whenever I listen to it, all I can think about is him. I can't even bring myself to watch The Hobbit anymore. I blamed myself so much for never seeing him before he died. I had the chance to go to his flat a week after he was diagnosed with cancer, but I decided to pass on it because I was tired and we were set to visit him the following Sunday.

He passed away in his sleep the Tuesday night before.

Well, I missed yesterday - so double duty time -

Day 09 - A song that makes you want to dance

Oh god, I wish I could hold still when this song came on. Wait, no I don't. Turn it up, drown out everything else and just go with it. No need to fight it. Doesn't matter if I am stuck in traffic, working, writing, cleaning. I don't care. It gets those hips moving and those shoulders bouncing. Move the fuck over Lord of the Dance, time to get jiggy with it.

Day 10 - A song that makes you cry

I believe the song speaks for itself.

Day 10 // A song that makes you cry.

Today's song choice is not only entirely unexpected given the prompt, but it also brings out the real weeb in me. Anyway, I decided to say "Fuck you" to today's prompt and decided that I don't actually cry for music, but my eyes become watery instead. That's close enough for crying and I also think that crying can either be from sadness or happiness. For me, I'm going to go with the latter to respond to today's song choice because I expect everyone else to pick the former.

Because of this, I ended up picking, yes, you can see it, something from the RWBY OST. Gold. For the longest time, I couldn't tell why this song made me tear up with happiness - is it how pleasant it sounds? Is it the lyrics? The answer is yes to both and either further with the lyrics: this song reminds me of the relationship that my sister and I have. For this very reason, I consider this song to be a tribute to my sister.

Love ya, sis.

Day 10 - A Song What Makes Me Weep

This is probably cheating but like I can't recall a song by itself that has made me cry like ever. It's always been situational, like hearing Ave Maria at a funeral or the wedding march. And this is no exception. Now it should shock no one that I fuckin love Cloud Atlas, the book and the movie, enough to name myself after a character from it and the movie's soundtrack is amazing. All Boundaries Are Conventions is not the saddest scene in the film, that comes later near the end of the Frobisher story and the Sonmi story. But it is an incredibly moving and emotional moment, a climax before the slide into the general resolution. And there's just something about Sonmi experiencing and understanding love mixed in with the romantic, wistful narration from Frobisher mixed in with other characters having a nice little break in their frantic quests that just brings a few tears to my eyes every time I watch the scene.

On its own it's also just a beautiful piece of music, simple in its structure but so powerful all the same. I'm getting a bit misty thinking of it again.

So if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with Cloud Atlas

When you wanna leave the club... but you hear "cash money records takin' over for the 99 and 2000."

Day 10 - A song that makes you cry

I cannot listen to this song without crying, honestly. I first watched the Selena movie when I was in the third grade, and I'm all like, "Oh! She's really talented! Why isn't she more popular?" And then at the end of the movie, when she died, I cried like a baby. Like I really wasn't expecting that.

D a y 10 // A song that makes you want to cry

When I watched this anime, the song simply started off as something the protagonist held tight in regards to her late parents since this was their love song. But it also drove her to seek out the man she loved. She never got around telling him how much she loved him. He was gone before she got the chance. She was running out of time... her death was just around the corner. With the help from supernatural beings, she was given one wish and that was to chase her dreams and become a singer before she dies. But ultimately, her purpose was to find him. The man she can't stop thinking about and this song just means... so much to her. But what she finds out...

Life truly is too short. And I cried and cried and cried with how much this anime and this song made me cry. Now it just makes my heart ache but I will never forget how I felt when I journeyed with her and felt the heartache she was going through.

I personally love the emotions you can feel in the singer's voice. And I can relate with the desperate want to get your feelings across to someone...

If there was eternally falling snow, could it hide my feelings for you?

Day 10
The loss of a loved one shapes who you are.

The feeling of losing someone creates a void in you, that no matter how much you try, you can never fill . A part of you is lost with their departure, a part that can never be replaced.
You try to forget it, to move on, but deep down you know that you will never be whole again.
You try to bury that constant tingling of emptiness and sorrow but it always emerges.
Your chest is tightened by loneliness and despair. Your heart is breaking, unable to withhold those emotions any longer.
Your souls weeps at their memory and your heart aches for their warmth.
You even start to miss the times you fought together, yearning for one more moment with them.
The only way to move forward is to face the painful truth. They will be forever gone. Their voice, their touch, their warmth, their kind words, their kindness, their love. Nevermore.
Once you confront this bitter grim reality, you have a choice. Either move forward or sink in utter despair.

Day 11 - A song that reminds you of summer

Okay, this one always reminds me of Summer and I blame a bunch of idiots at a 4-H summer camp years ago. We had been having a good time down at the beach for days and our camp "Counselors" decided we needed some culture, so they took us to a local groups performance of South Pacific. Okay, you put a bunch of high school guys and girls that were just body surfing into that scenario and yeah, the heckling was massive. (Me sitting there sinking lower and lower in my chair as if I didn't know a single one of them.) - The cast so called them out on it during this song and pulled them on stage. What though could have turned into something really ugly turned into a long night of laughs as the cast taught us the songs and then we in turned taught them all about Big Butts and how they cannot lie. (Trust me, you have not lived until you see a theater cast do a Broadway-esque rendition of Sir-Mix-A-Lot dressed as a bunch of WWII Sailors. LMAO)

Day 11 - a song that reminds me of summer

A song that embodies the summer spirit for me: upbeat, catchy, easy-going, yet still passionate. I can absolutely imagine partying to this in the bright sunlight at a summer festival.

Also the title line is pretty much how everyone reacts to summer: 'So turn up the light! Turn up the light! THIS IS WHAT I'VE WAITED FOR!'

Day 11 // A song that reminds you of summer.

I've always had two "summer songs" and they are Tightrope by Walk The Moon and the song that I actually chose for this prompt - Get Me Golden by Terraplane Suns. I swear I have some obsession with the color gold lately. Anyway, I actually chose this song over Tightrope simply because I like it better and I feel like it's less well known. As I associate it with summer?

Well, my sister bought Saints Rows 4 for her Xbox 360 about two years ago and during the summer of that year, I found myself frequently playing it. While I never actually beat the (extremely short) game, I spent most of the season running around the game, stirring up trouble and collecting items. And this song ties into Saints Rows how? Well, it's part of the soundtrack for the game and is probably my favorite off of the soundtrack choice if I'm being honest.

Although this song is technically associated with one of the worst summers of my life, I still love it. It's a very upbeat song and it still fills me with a certain sense of warmth that is definitely reminiscent of summer.

Good vibes. Dancing. Pina Colada + Boy. Yum. I don't really have much to say about this one besides I've had fun girl nights with my sisters and friends, just letting loose and having a blast. Summer (at least for a full time student - when I was one) is to find sometime to relax and spend with your loved ones. This song reminds me of some of those great times I shared with people.

A Song That Reminds you of Your Best Friend

I'm more into hardcore music nowadays, but my best friend Mackey was into some of the newer rock of the 2000's and we kinda discovered bands through each other. He showed me Rise Against. It was his fav band (might still be). This one is for you, Mac.

Day 12 - a song that reminds me of my best friend

Coincidentally, both people I consider my 'best friends' (varying time period and all) like Hollywood Undead to at least some degree (one absolutely loves them). I know a couple songs from them too, and this one is a common favourite for all three of us. Not to mention we can all relate to the lyrics as well. So here's to us and the camaraderie. <3

I have three best friends. Each of us are different and unique in our own ways. This also happened to be our favorite song "back in the day."

Day 12 // A song that reminds you of your best friend.

I don't have a best friend anymore and I haven't had one for a very long time now. I suppose I have a bit of a problem when it comes to maintaining close friendships as I feel the need to be everyone's friend and although it is cliche, I feel that I would prefer to have best friends opposed to a single best friend. This may be considered cheating for this challenge, but this prompt can totally fight me. I don't have a best friend and I'm making do by picking. . well, most of the people I'm friends with.

So, with that out of the way, it leaves the question: why the hell would I pick this song?

For three reasons. The first reason is because one of my earliest friends and I bonded over a similar love for Black Eyed Peas. I'm still friends with that person to this very day. The second reason would be because this is my summer jam and that can ultimately be tied into the third reason: one of my first real life friends and I chose to dance to this song over the summer while playing Just Dance.

For these inexplicably strange reasons, I am choosing to defy this prompt and am choosing to pick this very unpredictable song.

Day 12 - Reminds Me of My Best Frienddw I'll get caught up on the other days

Had a bit of a struggle deciding between this and For Ever Ever by Bastille, but it's his favorite song so I'd be remiss in not using for today. Also, considering recent events in his life, the meaning of the song's title is... grimly appropriate, I suppose. Anyway, I first heard this song on the radio like I'm sure a lot of people did, but it never really went past 'catchy radio song' status until my friend came back to town for a week or two that summer, since about a year or two earlier he'd moved away to Illinois because his dad got a job. It was during our time together he recommended I check out Coldplay since they made his favorite song, and showed me this as his musical exemplar.

Here's to hoping you get better, bud.

@GreyI actually have a story about Viva La Vida and a friend.

I grew up with a guy named Keenon. He was funny and nice, and he loved movies. He was also one of the only DBZ fans other than me in my school (in highschool). He committed suicide in 2014. But why Viva La Vida connects to him, is because I remember back in 2009. We were on our senior trip, having just graduated from Highschool. (For reference, we took the trip on the week Micheal Jackson's funeral was held). We went to Destin on the Gulf of Mexico at my friend Mackey's beach house. It was so pretty there, and we would go out on the deck and talk about what we'd do next for the day. I think it was like, noon when me and Keenon walked out on the balcony and heard some R&B or Rap upstairs booming across the complex. We weren't in the mood for that shit. I brought my MP3 player out, stuck it in the speakers, and blared Viva La Vida even louder. Everyone on the beach saw Keenon and I dancing to Coldplay, with some (probably) pissed off people above us.

Day 13 - A song you sing to in the shower

I feel like this could be any song, so I'll just go with a good one
