@Flamelord

They're able to track the direction in which the ship started it's jump, based on the effect jumping has on the space around it. Most FTL travel operates on one of 2 principles: bending space to allow for ftl travel, or dropping into another dimension temporarily. The Imperium is adept at the latter, I assume the Goa'Uld are using that as well. As such they're able to track the direction in which the ship moved at the start of it's jump. They then move along that line, stopping at every solar system in the path, although they wouldn't keep tracking after a certain distance. If the Goa'Uld were to exit FTL and then immediately make another jump, they'd probably lose the Imperium, or at least severely slow them down. It wouldn't make much sense to do, though, as they don't know they're being tracked.

Tracking jumps of a cloaked ship like that, BTW, is quite hard to do. Normal ships can't do it. But the Rock is a space station owned by the Dark Angels, who are obsessive about secrets and uncovering them. Hence why they developed an entire branch of psionics dedicated to extracting information from enemies mid-battle. So the Rock's sensors are pretty much the best in the Imperium.

Ah, I see. So it's less a case of 'The Devastation shows up a few minutes later' and more, 'the Devastation shows up in a few hours, if not days.' Glad we could clarify that, I was worried for a bit.

Depending on how many solar systems along it is, estimate they've got about 15 minutes for every solar system traveled. So 15 minutes if they stopped at the first one, 30 if they stopped at the second, etc. Although I'm not sure why they'd skip over solar systems in the first place.

Because Goa'uld star charts are kinda spotty outside of the Stargate network, sine the network is where all the important stuff is. Unless youre trying to make a secret facility that you don't want anyone to find. So the Goa'uld are assuming that this universe is the same as theirs, and going to a planet that they know his habitable in their universe. Which means, skipping over solar systems.

Also I thought 40k Warp didn't do 'straight lines' very well.

question, does arcadia have resident ghoulies? and i don't neccisarily mean things native to arcadia, most like if nasties ever 'get out' of their home universe and take up residence?

I am about to do something that may be a terrible idea. I hope Dromari won't hold a grudge if Ba'al laughs in his face. :V

Welp, it'll at least be interesting. Although it might end in a rather one-sided war.

Well I wasn't expecting to be threatened with nukes twice in the same day.

Also, @Wraithblade6 Welcome back!

The nukes are more a component of the overall threat which is 'don't push me or else.'

But who knows, maybe I'm bluffing.

@thewizardguy
The station is armed with a nuke for self destruction. If the station would be overan by something like the Blob (huge slime monster.) or Xenomorphs (the Aliens kind.) the station would nuke itself, to prevent the threat from spreading. Also, Martin wasn't threatening. He was just warning them the station would blow, if he was killed.

@Flamelord

called your bluff.

Now, onto the inevitable anger that will occur after you read my post (or perhaps you read this first). Allow me to explain. Dromarius is not nice, but I legitimately believe that the Goa'Uld are massively screwed if they go up against the Imperium. I've looked over the Goa'Uld tech and the history of their conflicts, and I severely doubt Ba'al stands much of a chance against the Imperium at it's current stage. So I would not recommend fighting them.

Also, there's literaly no way you could have hidden the Naquari bombs in the Imperium. Teleportation would have been noticed, and getting a ship even in orbit over Imperium lands would have sparked war. Invisibility is foiled by psychics, as is infiltration. And hell, sneaking a weapon of that size in? Pretty much impossible. So yeah, definitely not likely.

I know it sucks to have someone tell you your faction is weak, but the Imperium are, in terms of military power, pretty much the most powerful faction around (save perhaps Outliners, who haven't shown what their military even is, besides a couple of random goons every now and then.) And the Goa'Uld are one of the weakest, with their technology being what most would consider archaic in terms of weapons. So while I don't want to come off as an ass, I seriously recommend not starting a war.

Apologies for any anger I may have caused.

Actually I thought it was hilarious. Typical Space Marines being super overconfident about their own faction, that sort of thing. It's not like it's unprecedented from what I've been told.

Now them, to argue. It appears that you are operating on a mistaken assumption of the nature of my faction. This is not your average Goa'uld empire, this is Ba'als Empire from the movie Continuum, one where he succeeded in his plans. This is Ba'al with the might of a galaxy behind him, as well as all the technical knowledge that he gained about the Asgard from Anubis, from the humans, and from Atlantis. As a result, I can have small cloaked ships, I can make megaton nuclear weapons the size of a suitcase, and I can do a while hell of a lot more. The main problem is motivation to do so, which is a rapidly fading dilemma.

To counter, there is no way you have enough Psykers to do that. Firstly because you didn't list any as existing in your character sheet, and second because having so many concentrated in Arcadia would be a Bad Thing (tm), because of the Warp and Chaos Corruption. Besides, you already said before that you only caught my cloaked guys jumping out because you happened to be looking when they warped. Why would it be any different for some guy teleporting into the Imperium for a duration of a couple seconds? Unless you figured out a counter for what is effectively Necron level teleportation.

Sure, I may not have infantry that can take on a post human murder machine in one on one combat and win (potentially besides a Kull), but I'm not that weak. Even if it isn't a reality now, the Goa'uld can teleport in a Gatebuster equivalent bomb and destroy one of your major cities in a couple seconds before you can stop it.

So yeah. Check, and mate.
