I had three people PM me personally saying they were nearly finished with their Character Sheets. I have my daughter this weekend, so I intend on starting the IC Sunday evening or Morning to give them a couple more days to wrap up.

Ok, just to clarify everyone, you can just call her Sam. It was inappropriate to write it in the Oath as it's official and she'd present her full name. Personality-wise she's quite arrogant and bossy, even if she's dependent on others. At the same time she's not distant or withdrawn so she can be fun to interact with. She has a weird sense of humor and obviously, a peculiar outlook.

Also, she's a necromancer. I'll add to the way that works once it's all approved.

I like that we have a balance of combat and non-combat characters so far. Hopefully we get some good opportunities to flex our teamwork (or maybe a dysfunctional lack of teamwork?)

@Wind: We've spoken a ton about your character in PM, so any critiques I had were already voiced and worked through. Welcome to the RP, it shouldn't be more than a few days before start the IC! Get excited!

@Krauxis: This time waiting for people to submit has given me a little more to plan the initial mission and what not. I have a good sense of two major plots and unique ways for everyone to encounter them, so don't worry, the diversity we have here will absolutely be visible very soon!

I love the dice system already. Some of my best tabletop moments were had trying to think of something on the spot to salvage a bad roll, or finding a creative way to embellish a good one. I'm more than happy to see something like that in an RP that promises to be as deep as this one.

I'm already getting excited, should be cool playing this. :3 I'd say a dysfunctional or barely functioning group is more likely than a balanced one, personality wise. But the skills should fit together nicely. ^^

I am becoming more and more interested in this as I read. Still accepting, I hope?

I do believe we are still accepting, at least, I'm pretty sure Shon is.

There aren't any player limitations on this RP. Throw up CSs if you have them. We will be accepting members as they come along the way. Anyone who expresses interest, if you a friend wants to join up and they ask you, they're free to make a character who happens to be in the region we are doing their missions (they would begin as a common folk in that area, probably).

@ShonHarris: Thanks. I modified to add Skill with Logos and added a few more years for her to have under her belt. There's also a new section explaining her mechanical limbs. In the case of Arin, skill with an arrow, though consistent with her family background, doesn't seem entirely probable at the moment simply because her dominant right hand is mechanical and has no sensation. In keeping with having lost her ability to write decently, the dextrousness of her right hand isn't high enough to allow her to gauge the amount of force she's exerting on the bow. I think I will have her learning, but it definitely isn't one of her strong suits. The conflict between her desire to feel again in her limbs and her fear of Lef and what it would take to get that feeling, though, might be a good side plot for Arin.

To my understanding the Night Kiss assassins work mostly alone on missions, is that correct? If so, how tight are the bonds among themselves inside the organisation? How many people are there? How and how often do they interact? Do they practice teamwork?

I feel like I need to ask those things to build my character appropriately. Also, if everyone knows themselves a relationship/opinion chart might be useful, or a list of previous missions completed together or something?

They work mostly together, quite the opposite of your understanding. A mission is larger, more branching than you may be thinking thus requiring more than a single individual to be successful. Our team may be assigned to accomplish a mission, but that mission may have a few larger objectives requiring the team to break into sub-groups based on the necessary skills/plan we come up with to succeed. As a roleplay, I want things to be interactive. Given time I will make some room for individual missions or things requiring very small teams.

As far as how people know each other and all that, I've mostly answered these questions with our other members. Everyone here except for one has been with Night Kiss a while. However, they have worked throughout the organization, which arose from a fallen nation. You can infer to the size for now, but we will visit the primary base for Night Kiss sooner than later (more info in the OP). Our sect of Night Kiss keeps to a ship moving about the sea and has only just been reformed. It was led before by Master Nazeem Thorne who is believed to have died some months prior and my character, Simeon Cythrea has now taken his position and been given a new assembly. The IC will open with our team being assembled/having just been assembled. Some may know each other from smaller, past missions, and others may have simply passed one another and not know much more than their face. This puts members new and old on an even playing field as they learn how to find their parts in the team.

Alright well.. I suppose if anyone wants a connection we can establish that via PM. If not, I'll just say Sam didn't really interact with anyone much.

The Chosen are my kin, I am servant to Selene for She is my patron, my Divine. Through my kin, I offer my skills to Selene. I offer my arms and legs which are strong, swift, agile, and deadly, my eyes, which can see clearly, even on the darkest of nights, and my lifetime of experience, which spans over 150 years and has taught me both the strength of limitations of my own body.. I submit my greatest flaws: the sun, which burns my flesh and boils my blood, and my never ending need for blood, without blood I become a shell of myself, and my true age becomes ever more apparent., so that my kin might aid me in my time of need. I recognize the Sweet Night knows no politics and declare mine openly to shed temptation. I have little hatred or love for anything. The sun is my one true foe and the night my one true mistress. I knew at the first sight of her I had to have her, I had to know her in that special way. It should have been a surprise how willing she agreed to go with me. I did not have to win her over with wine or complements. It seemed like she was as willing as I was. Again, the eternal arrogance of youth reared its ugly head.

In the heat of passion, I thought little of the way she nibbled at my neck or of her long, strong fingernails that gently scratched my skin, drawing small droplets of blood. Only when it was too late did I notice that her teeth had sunken deep into my flesh, and were draining the strength from my limbs. Only when the peril of the situation I was in became apparent did I notice how impossibly strong her arms were, as she held me close and still, regardless of how hard I thrashed or moved. Only when the darkness surrounded me and engulfed my very being did I know the enormous mistake I had made.

That night, I slept my final slumber as a mortal man. Visions of shadows and fire filled my dreams, and I was sure I would never awaken again. I was wrong, however, I did awake, and the world I woke to was vastly different than the one I left. For whatever reason, her bight had changed me, transformed me into something I could not comprehend. I was stronger, faster, and my body came to life with the setting of the sun. But she had cursed me, never again would I be able to watch the sun rise of the peaks of the mountains, or feel its warmth against my skin. But perhaps my greatest burden to bear would by the eternal hunger that would never be satisfied, no matter how much I fed. Over time I would learn what I was, In the 130 years sense my brush with the lady of the night I have learned much about what I am, and what I can do. I have met others of my kind, though few enough, and have I learned how to give others the same blessing, or curse, that was given to me. To this day I still search for the one who changed me. I will find her, but whether I will kiss her and thank her for this gift, or rip out her heart for dooming me with this curse, I have yet to decide.

I do not hide from the gaze of my kin. I have had over a century to hone my skills and strengths. My body is my greatest weapon, but I will often travel with a slender sword at my side, a sword I can use quite well. Throughout my years of life I have trained with various swordsman and artisans skilled in combat, they have taught me much of what I know now, though most have died or are at deaths door. What I know of my own kind, I have discovered mostly from trial and error, lore, and the occasional help or advise of those of mine own kind, though I find them rarely. I prefer to travel during the night, for obvious reasons. However, if I must travel during the day I can do so as long as I wear heavy leather clothing that protects my skin from the sun, I will be weakened, and will have to feed extensively, but I can make do. However, if I do not feed regularly even thick leather will not protect me from the suns rays. The lack of blood causes terrible things to happen to me, I become old and crippled after a short time, and my true form reveals itself the longer I go without plasma. If I go too long without blood, I become a beast, feral and uncontrollable; I enter a state for which I know no cure, nor have I met any who know of one.

Truly as I am Dez, The Shadow and amongst Night's Chosen, I seal my Oath. Of Sweet Night, One Faint Kiss. Spring 411 of the Fourth Era.
