Savo Time to go to Hell

Member Seen 4 days ago

Alright, so Gray is finished! Feel free to judge him now! On a side note, I just didn't feel like remaking their personality, so I brushed it up. Sorry if some stuff ends up being lackluster as I feel like I left out a few minor details.

Name:

Gray "Bleu" Lune

His other sides go by Penumbra and Umbra

Nickname:

Bleu

Age:

17

Race:

Human

Appearance:

((I kinda got lazy on this, plus I don't want to run out of time, so yeah; will rework in the future))
He has a height of 187.96 centimeters, pale creamy skin, and dyed purple hair. His original hair color was of a grayish hue and he sometimes sports a wolfish grin. The other versions of Gray are basically palette swaps with Penumbra having a black hair, jacket, pants, and shoes; his shirt is white. Umbra sports opposite colors with white hair, jacket, pants, and shoes; his shirt is black. They all have a huge three clawed scar across their chest.

Personality:

Gray has a rather carefree and laidback personality, and often has a smile plastered on his face. He has a generally friendly disposition towards anyone unless they generally irritate the boy in some fashion. He loves hanging around other people, and often indulging himself in knowledge. He also shows strange ways of enjoy in himself, through weapon designs, reading, and sometimes careless stunts.

He does hold a serious and caring disposition. He also feels that he has no time to deal with people that are considered close minded, and often gets annoyed when they don't try and see it from another perspective; Gray can also be a hypocrite at times in this regard. He can also be considered dense at times as Umbra Gray states.

Gray can also become obsessive over something that drives him crazy, and if not dealt with can lead to some very poor choices. He is also extremely passionate about painting, and is a skilled artist, as he is able to paint things with very careful, and intricate details. He also loves blue roses for some reason.

Penumbra Gray is the quiet, shy, and stoic individual of the trio. He acts very mature most of the time, and very rarely cracks a joke. He has a rather dry taste in humor and rarely gets any jokes thrown his way. His serious demeanor is often considered frightening, and scares most people away. Penumbra Gray often is seen observing others than jumping into the fray, watching when and how to capitalize on opportunities not pertaining to fighting.

Despite all of this, he has a rather soft, caring side like Gray, and often does his best to act considerate as the original Gray. He also is very shy around girls, and can often be seen with a light blush around his cheeks when talking to one. Penumbra Gray begins to fumble over words and blush profusely when a girl often speaks to him in a flirty tone, or touches him in general. When this happens, he opts to try and get away, and ends up looking like a fool due to acting like a klutz when trying to leave the vicinity.

Umbra Gray is a more outgoing version of Gray, and attempts to give off a refined display, despite the way he acts sometimes. Umbra Gray flirts with almost anyone he finds beautiful when he gets the chance, and often acts cool around other people, including women unlike his Penumbra counterpart.

Umbra can often come off as arrogant at times, and can sometimes directly insult someone if he feels like they deserve it. He is also considered a bit of a pervert, as he performs rather ungentlemanly acts when given the chance. He will also perform actions which make him look like a klutz, despite how graceful he actually is.

Despite this, he still has some wit about him, and doesn't rely mainly on charm to get his way. If he has to slither like a snake to get what he wants he will perform such things. Even with his fallacies, he often regrets some of the things he does, and acts more friendly when you catch him in the right mood. The reason he acts all cocky is mainly because he is insecure.

History:

Gray was born to a family of two hunters from two differing teams. The eldest of two, he lived a generic life as a citizen, spending time mainly with his father and sister since his mother continued leading the life of a hunter. The duo were often encouraged to become hunters by their mother and their father didn't care much as long as they made what they wanted with their life. In truth, it truly was peaceful for the Valeborn family... up until a point.

Gray and his sister, Cerise, often would watch the news and help their dad run the restaurant, though, Cerise assisted two years later due to her younger, vulnerable age. Their eyes would pry on the tv as they either watched cartoons or things involving the White Fang. There was a certain fear in their eyes and they would often crave for more information from their father and sometimes their mother when she was home. Both of them would explain little by little, feeling they shouldn't sully the brother and sisters childhood, and would sometimes display their skills.

They both learned new techniques and later would put this into practice in life by training with either parent. While Cerise gleefully watched, Gray would often pull away the sugary facade, curious.

A few years later, Gray was accepted into a prep school academy for Hunters and Huntresses in Vale, along with his best friend Jaden. Jaden he had met a while back after finishing watching his mother and fathers amazing performance with weapons. They then went to play with the other children and the duo eventually met up and became pals.

Anyways... while they both attended the prep school, some students who had hunters as parents began bragging about how amazing their parents were. Of course, Gray decided to pipe in and describe his own too, feeling that they were just as astounding... of course, it didn't go too much as planned and they all ended up jeering over how his mother was half the hunter she would ever be and began taunting him by raising two fingers into the air, attaching it to their heads, and running around like half baked morons making the most ridiculous faces.

Gray barely managed to hold back his anger over punching them square in the jaw. Now he understood more of the discrimination... but why was it still like this?

One of those days when they began making fun of his family, Gray demanded they take everything they spoke about them back. They laughed at his face before making a ridiculous bet - they go with him outside the walls and find some Grimm. If he took it down, they would take it back and stop. It was stupid, but Gray was just sick of it all... so he agreed and invited Jaden to come along.

What happened was... disastrous and all five of them were lucky they weren't expelled for doings something so completely idiotic. They... they got into a fight with some Ursa. They weren't too well versed and attempted to fight off these creatures that had more experience than all of them combined. The mauling, the blood, the screams, the blood... it was everywhere. He tried fighting back, but to no avail he missed every single hit with his forged Lunar Edge. Eventually as he tried to swing, he was paralyzed, unmoving... he couldn't do anything... why?

All he felt after that was the claws running across his chest, tears streaming from his eyes, and the despair that was beholden within them. They were met with a terrible fate...

...

They did survive and were pulled out of school for a week to recover. However, something... cracked inside Gray and he began asking himself "Why do I want to be a Hunter?" It seemed all the students didn't have any trauma and were released back into school afterwords due to their swift recovery. They were, however, required to check in for at least a couple of weeks or months just in case.

That's when Gray began acting all funny. One day he would be hitting on some chicks and promptly getting slapped across the face, while another day he would be recluse, sitting all alone to himself ignoring his best friend while reading a book. It wasn't apparent at first until he did battle with one of the tougher students who would of promptly handed his ass to him if not for the switching between personalities. As he was ready to give up, the other side of him took over and fought with some bravado in his step, attempting to entice the audience. Ended up winning and earning a slap to the face when he began hitting on some chicks.

Then in the middle of class he became recluse...

And then he returned to normal after that and questioned what exactly transpired. Eventually it was discovered that he had Dissociative Identity Disorder when meeting up with doctors. At this point, Gray had a morbid curiosity during this meet over ways to treat it. This was the time when he discovered his semblance as he gave shape to those two people during the meet. It was... interesting to say the least. This meet resulted in improving his weapon to accommodate for the two newcomers, via, adding dual swords to his Lunar Edge.

After this, they probed him to work harder to become a hunter. Improving his body was easy and not very time consuming since there were three of him... they still had to work with other students to improve themselves, but when his prep school days came to a close, Gray, Jaden, and a few others were nominated for being exemplary hunters in training. While Gray wasn't exactly the best, it gave him some sense of renewal as he still confounded himself over why he chose this life.

Weapon:

Lunar Edge; also known as a High-Powered Dual Dust Crossbow Sword Eku, abbreviated to HPDDCSE

The color scheme is blue, black, and white. When sheathed it becomes two thick machine-like sheathes.

Eku:

This form is the one Gray mainly uses; it is an elongated spear of sorts which in its normal state is about three meters in length, not counting the blades at each end; the blades are one meter each. The handle is rather thick, so to remedy this, there is a handle which he put through the weapon in order to grip it on the adjacent sides; the hole also contains triggers for both ends.

Both ends have sharp curved blades, to which the edge is aimed outwards. The dual blades are on different sides, one being on the left side of the end, the other being on the right side of the top. These blades are a little thick on the side where they aren't facing, which can also be used for blunt attacks. They also have holes on top of them which either disperses dust or shoots out a weak dust bolt. The dispersal of dust allows for him to make a sort of temporary shield which can either dispel or slow down assaults. He can also pull off an overload which allows for an incredible attack with dust, but at the cost of a lot of the dust and recoil. It doesn't use as much up while in Crossbow mode if overloaded, and can't be overloaded when dual wielding.

Crossbow:

This form is the one Penumbra mainly uses; it is a huge, somewhat clunky device that is about one meter long from the stock to the foot. The limbs are one foot for each with have a piercing end for both. In the middle it has dual holsters for his dust that functions similarly to Weiss' weapon. He makes dust bolts from each of these but can overwhelm it for a more powerful attack.

Earth bolts function like any regularly arrows and are the least costly to make, fire bolts cost a little more with the added bonus of exploding into flames around the vicinity (two foot radius), and wind costs the most since it not only knocks back opponents, but can be used for mobility through its limbs in tandem with the overload.

Dual Swords:

This form is the one Umbra mainly uses; these two huge slender blades both extend to a length of two and a half meters from the tip to the pommel itself; the grip is only four inches. The blades are fairly large and contain a holster for both dust canisters. Other than looking somewhat smooth with machinery on it, there really isn't much else to say.

It lacks the use of dust bolts, but has a different function. In the way it disperses dust allows for easier manipulation, and along with that, the blades can shoot out tight slivers of dust which have a more area of effect than the bolts. Doing this uses up 2/3s of what it takes to make a dust bolt for the crossbow.

Semblance:

Gray is able to clone himself us in his semblance, creating another version of him as a result of his personality. He is able to split up due to this and enables him to help any of his allies with his aura and abilities. This allows him to cover a wide range of weaknesses, and allows him to use different tactics to survive a battle.

Also, the main Gray can give mental commands to the other three and can switch his view to see what the other two are up to. This can give him a certain advantage in myriads of situations depending on positioning.

Each Gray gets a certain "buff" as I would like to say when fighting. The Original Gray gets a major buff to his attack, allowing him deal huge amounts of damage. OG also gets a minor boost to defense and speed which makes him a bit faster and allows him to tank a harder hit or two.

Umbra/White Gray gets a major buff to speed which allows him to swiftly move across the battlefield briskly. P/BG also gets a minor boost to defense and attack, which makes him a little tougher and deal a little more damage.

Penumbra/Black Gray gets a major buff to defense which allows him to take blows much easier than the other two and dissuades opponents from fighting him up close since they won't deal as much damage. U/WG also gets a minor boost to speed and attack which allows him to deal some melee damage when assailants are a little too close for comfort and get away if he can't win.

With all these pros, you might think he's a little strong. Welp, time for the weaknesses!

Weaknesses:

When his aura is being used by any of the Grays, the weary effects you get from using it affects all three of the Gray's, which means if they are all using it, it drains at triple the rate. Also, a side note, they all have a different color for each of them when using their aura - Gray is gray, Penumbra is black, and Umbra is white.

In video game terms, they all share the same life bar. Which means you only have to take down one of the Grays to best them. However, to completely kill him or knock him out, you gotta take out the original; impaling or doing a number of horrible things to other will cause the original to have a phantom pain of sorts. It is possible to make him pass out via asphyxiation of another Gray or through pain.

Along with that, each of them have their own personalities and will do their own thing if they need to, Umbra the most since he loves hogging the limelight. This makes Umbra the biggest wild card out of the rest of the group. There's also an off chance that they could feud over control of Gray's body when dismissed, Umbra mainly, again.

Due to him only having two split personalities, he can only make two clones at once and can't constantly dismiss and make them reappear. Once dismissed, he has to wait for thirty minutes before bringing them back.

Finally, when they are summoned, they are all limited to using one weapon, aka, their main weapon of choice. They can also use up their dust at a swift rate, so Gray makes sure to have a constant supply of them... if he can. There are some times when he can't refill.

Dust:

Due to practice with some dust in his classes, he does have an understanding of how it works, but prefers to use those of ice, fire, and wind for an extra oomph in mobility or any other item.

Other:

Favorite food, eh? Can he just say he is biased for his family's restaurant?

Is a pretty good artist; enjoys painting the most out of everything he does.

Also, apologies for switching between the Metric and Imperial system for my weapon.

Hey, there's RWBY, so why can't we do FGRK as Fork? :P

On a side note, time to arrange these letters into something meaning a color! Maybe! I'm pretty sure they used last names too in the show for teams, so there's that.

I think this will be a very fun and interesting aspect of character development with this adventure. Looks like we're gonna have to draw straws to see who will be forced to 'grow up' the fastest! XD

Yeah, that's true, nobody is born a leader. And yeah at this point we should :P

@Savo Accepted! Also team names don't need to be colours, we tried so hard to make colours with them and it was close to impossible, so now team names can make up any word.

I'll be getting the IC up soon, 10 minutes is the ETA depending on if Allen gets back to my PM or not.

Challenge accepted

Also, on a side note, ended up coming up with FLRK as Team Flare for the team with my chary. Guess we gotta have them dress up like this now.

There's also Fork, but I'm in the middle for that xP

Edit: KLAR as Clear, GRAK as Grey, RFLK as Reflection. I think Clear and Reflection would obviously count as colors (I know, we don't need to do colors, but eh, challenge accepted). Fork does work for a color since I think of silverware but hm.

Framing A Moose Overshare Extraordinaire

Alright we've decided to make a fifth team although it will operate differently. These students will be newer to the school than the other ones and will function sort of as reserves. While they will operate as a normal team, whenever someone drops out someone from the reserves team will join that team.

I know it's a cop out, but it's the best I can do. All I can say is sorry for my own ineptitude.
@Framing A Moose You're free to submit your app now if you still want to.
@Eisenhorn Accepted.

I have an idea on how to implement this mechanic into the actual RP. What if the members of the fifth team didn't quite pass the entrance exam, but the Academy decided to let them in on the condition that if something happens to someone on another team, they'll leave their current team and join the one with the missing member. Or something like that.

The question is what is the entrance exam like here? Is it similar to Beacon or is it something else?

Also, lets start off with Team names!

We have
FGRK = Fork
FLRK = Flare
GRAK = Gray
KLAR = Clear
RFLK = Reflection

Which do you guys like Lupus, Death, and Fate?

I do actually really like Fork but it's sooooooo stupid, haha. Other than that my vote is probably for Reflection (Reflect?), then for Flare.

As for the team leader: I forget, are the leaders chosen by the school or do they develop naturally in the team?
