@Letter Bee

I am splitting hairs, but I think this is justified before something like this happens again in a more significant fashion.

Well...whoa, a lot of things happened. Definitely going to wait for Scio now (that'd be a lot of things for him to handle when he returns), need to catch up on what's taking place now.

Hmm...Alice's theme song, probably this as her leitmotif, though i like this as an image song for her. the fact both are related to someone else named Alice is coincidental.

@GreenGoat That version being chosen for Junko is quite a pleasant surprise lol, at first i thought it'd be the original version instead.

I am disappointed at the lack of volunteers to be set on fire. I mean, why wouldn't you want to be?

Alrightie then. Let's see what we have here.
I come to think of it. If Kyou can now turn off her fox mode, does that mean she got lots of magical power. I did state that she'd been stuck in fox mode for 4 months. Understandable due to the power system changes cuz it's inconsistent that @Scio did.

Not surprising if she passes out in or after this fight due to not being able to sustain her magic in longer periods.
Also Kyou speed> Everyone? lel
In the previous system, you classified Kyou's magic as Igyo, hence it was a mutation. This means whatever kitsune attributes she has are permanent, passive, and not deactivatable. Otherwise, it would have classified as Henkei. With the sudden change in system, only the classification was changed and nothing was mentioned about her magic gaining the ability to be turned off or on. So, yeah.

As for speed, I'd say Akasha is the fastest. Kyou an Nihiri would probably be next to her.

@January@Letter Bee Is it fine for Mikhail to conclude that Donovan caused the unnatural calm that he had felt? Sure, nothing wrong with that. Mikhail can believe whatever he wants to. And Banjo also noted that the sigils were giving off enough illumination to reveal their faces and whatnot.

However, Letter Bee on the other hand, as the narrator for that character, shouldn't write in a way that makes it appear that he already knows this information. I'm probably not making sense, so I'll try to come up with an example.
  • "Mikhail was certain that it was Donovan that was causing all of this" - This is definitely fine. Right?
  • Mikhail's voice lost its bite, due to the fact that he was unable to muster much passion in the unnatural calm given by Donovan - This is probably not okay. Instead of Mikhail just assuming that Don was the cause, the narrator actually confirms it. I mean, I don't think that's part of your job description.
Anyway, I'm well aware that I may be wrong, so call me out if you think so. At least I can explain the reasons behind my decision.

Anyway, off to do some updates.

@Nanashi NinanaiI see someone liked the PC98 games. >.>

Also I chose that version specifically because it evoked more emotion, more of that feeling of... uh defiance?

@GreenGoat PC98 might be a bit wonky, but the era has its charms and it has Yumemi, so it's definitely a great era.

Yeah, that was actually the reason why I didn't see that version coming, though the contrast between the not so emotional Junko and a song filled with myriad outbursts of emotion is pretty nice after I think more about it, heh.

To add a bit more to it, while it is not technically meta-gaming (or at least a major game-breaking one) because what was written does not affect the other characters in any way. But luke Scio said, an author's narration should usually be based on the character's point of view, not information given out of character. And this is where exactly we might be having an issue here. When writing a post, you should exclude anything being said OoC (except plans and cooperative ideas) and focus more on the aspect viewed by the character being played.

@Scio

Sorry, I wasn't phrasing my issue with the post properly, but what you said is exactly my complaint. The way the post was written states the information as an absolute fact when Mikhail should rightly not have enough knowledge at the moment to confirm this.

I mentioned that I have no problem with Mikhail suspecting, guessing, surmising, concluding, etc. so long as it's a character's guess based on IC actions. Thus, I was on the fence about the matter as a whole.

It's not horribly metagaming, I agree, @Riffus Maximus. But the narration gives Mikhail information he shouldn't rightly know with objective certainty, which bothers me greatly.

Anyway, sorry for the trouble, guys. Thanks for putting up with it!

@January I see no problem with Mikhail assuming or choosing to believe something. I mean, for all he knows, the chances of him being right or wrong is pretty fair. I mean, if a character saw someo else get ressurected, he could assume that he just saw Jesus. No biggie. The only issue I see in with the narration. Like you said, an author's narration should usually be based on the character's point of view. Takes a while to get used to, but its definitely doable.

No no, of course. Mikhail can believe what he wants. I apologize if I ever implied anything otherwise--it wasn't my intention.

It's the matter of "what Mikhail believes" versus "knowing for sure this is an objective reality" that really rustles my jimmies. I'm probably not quite distinguishing this properly, but that was the core of my issue with the post.

Regardless, thanks for clearing that up!

Took a while, but I finally got Nico's theme pinned down. It just took a lot of dungeon roulettes to hit a nice one that fit him, haha.

While i'm not a GM, I do want to suggest that you read a few of the posts prior to yours and edit your post.

There's a bit too much going on for it to be likely that you could just helicopter-drop into the dead center. For starters, Junko's fog would prevent any pilot from attempting to land, and I don't think it needs to be stated directly that non-magical elements can't affect her fog, or else it would have been blown away by now. And while I understand that you were aiming for some super-cool insert, it just isn't exactly feasible based off what's going on right now.

If I'm the only person thinking this way, that's fine, feel free to ignore me, but I think there's a bit too much going on right now for any of us to want to drop what we're all doing and pay attention to Arthur's flamboyant arrival.

@hagroden I agree. It feels out of place. And with what's happening even if he could land I don't think all the students would care. There was a panther and fog and other things
