Name: Kirby Wade
Age: 23
Appearance:Personality:A man priding himself in his logic is one way Kirby could be described. He's as analytical as they come, always looking at a situation from every angle and attempting to find the most efficient solution for it. Stern, serious, but still friendly, as far as he's concerned sometimes the best choice isn't always the easiest and is more than willing to partake in heinous actions if it means protecting the innocent and those he cares about. While what he does may make him seem cold and uncaring, this couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, Kirby's main focus is trying to protect as many people as he possibly can. In his eyes, he can't play nice and expect things to work out, thus why he's resorted to doing what he does. He holds quite the resentment towards those with hopelessly optimistic views because of this, seeing them as naive and foolish children. In fact, Kirby is one who's quick to come to a swift judgement of a persons character based on first impressions.
On top of all this, Kirby is an extremely smart person in general and finds pleasure in obtaining new knowledge, history and learning being among his greatest passions. No matter what obstacle stands in his way Kirby will work his damn hardest to overcome it and will very seldom accept failure as an option. Due to this, Kirby holds absolutely no respect for those who appear lazy, or worse had things simply handed to them. it isn't unheard of for the magus to develop an obsession or a grudge over his inability to succeed. His frustration will build and build, though no matter what Kirby will not share his troubles and frustrations with others. Instead he'll let it all bubble up and release his temper when he's left alone.
Lastly, with all of his success and hard work, Kirby has developed a bit of an ego and become more than a bit cocky. One will often hear constant bragging spewing from his mouth, and if he does flounder he'll try to come up with an excuse to protect his image. However, there's more to this than just thinking he's the best. In his mind, he NEEDS to be the best. After all, who's going to clean up the world and protect everyone? It's almost like he's assigned himself the role of protector, and he'll constantly beat himself up when he doesn't meet his own standards. Indeed, Kirby isn't an entirely reprehensible individual. He'll often joke around, lend his hand when he can, and try to protect the group whenever he can.
Abilities:Kirby has magical circuits that are on par with if not slightly below average for most Magus, and due to this doesn't wield the most powerful of spells. Instead, he uses what he has and combines them with his smarts to make due. He has an affinity for flame magic and knows most of the basics.
Seeker Shot: Similar to a finn shot, Kirby uses his specialization in flame magecraft to greatly enhance its power. Fired from his index and middle finger, a shot of fire is launched, and upon hitting its target not only knocks them flat on their back but also causes the combustion of the foe. On top of that, the flame can carry the property of seeking out heat sources and thus steers towards what is usually a human foe. This can be fired at a rapid pace.
Watchful Eye: Kirby can create a small, red eyeball around the size of a baseball and throw it to where it will hover in place, turning to track its target. It will not do anything unless commanded by Kirby, and he can create up to 20 at a time. Each one has a weak mental connection to the Magus, and he can command each one separately with the snap of his fingers. When ordered, the eyes will glow for a brief second before firing a blast of light that can easily pierce a human body. Often times Kirby will maneuver his opponent into a position where they cannot avoid a barrage coming from every angle, turning them into a bleeding and hole-filled mess. The eyes can be destroyed, with each letting out a small and weak explosion that will at most stun someone nearby.
Body Link: Seen as a last resort, Kirby has a rune inscribed on his gloves that, when activated upon touching another person, links the two together. From then till the spell is cancelled, every injury will be replicated onto both, and if one is healed the same goes for the other. This is mostly used to force his opponent to submit, though Kirby is quite confident in himself and will sometimes inflict self harm in order to further weaken his foe.
History:Kirby was born into a family of rather lackluster Mages, and if destiny meant anything he should have followed suit. Looking back through history, the Wade's had never accomplished anything of importance, their relatively young lifespan as mages attributing to that. Instead, they were simply a footnote in the books of the Vaughan's, a much more powerful and prominent member of the community of Magus. Simply put, the Vaughan's abused the power they had and used their pull to practically force the Wade's to follow their every command. They were reprehensible human beings, committing heinous crimes just because they could and treating Kirby's family like utter garbage.
As much as he'd like to forget, Kirby is a result of this imbalance of power. His mother was often used for her body by the Vaughan's against her will, and one day this led to Kirby's conception. This wasn't a secret to the boy due to Garret Vaughan, a boy his age, taunting Kirby with this fact simply to rile him up. This would often lead to the two engaging in duels, and while Kirby was much more powerful than the rest of his family he was no match for Garret's superior gift. His resentment over his inability to do anything grew and grew with every passing day, but what really got to Kirby was how his family had seemed to given up hope and had become accepting of their fate to be used. They were a family based around kindness and good morals, and saw no way to escape their situation without breaking their own rules. Whether it be optimism or foolishness, Kirby refused to do the same, training and working his ass off in order to one day surpass those who abused their power.
However, it was more than just his anger and pride that drove Kirby's training. Erika, his younger sister of six years, was born with a frail body and weak bones. She constantly needed help walking or completing even the simplest of tasks, and Kirby was always there like a good big brother should have been. She meant the world to him, and sadly for him Garret knew this. If it was for his own pleasure or simply to get in Kirby's head, the rival boy would often request to have Erika for the night, and upon return the young girl would be covered in bruises and always in pain. The rest of the Wade family did nothing to oppose this, though unable to accept his sister being used like this by scum Kirby always fought to protect her but to no avail. He fought and fought and fought, but there was always something keeping him from overcoming his opposition. But what was that?
At the age of 17, Kirby finally came to a conclusion. Without any hint of fear or hesitation, the boy challenged Garret to a death match, a proposition that both Garret and his family agreed to. Kirby's family tried everything they could to dissuade their son from throwing his life away, but he knew what he had to do. He had to protect his sister from the scum of the Vaughan's, and for the first time ever Kirby managed to beat the odds and defeat Garret. The boy begged and pleaded for him to be spared, but ironically he'd driven Kirby to the point where that was never a possibility. Kirby ended the life of his long time rival and freed his sister from his torment. The Vaughan's were shocked by the outcome of the duel, and instead of seeking revenge they halted their mistreatment of the Wade's not out of fear but out of respect. Indeed, they weren't saddened by the loss of their own child but instead impressed with Kirby's skill and ability.
From then on Kirby's path changed drastically. After having defied his fate and saved his family from torment, he knew he had a purpose bigger than himself. So, shortly after that day the boy moved out on his own and became a freelance mercenary, taking up work to protect those who couldn't do it themselves and rid the world of scum. He misses his sister everyday, but he knows that by doing what he does he's making the world a safer place for her.
