@OtomostheCrazyBy unconventional methods I mean play battling smart. Ash still has not won a single championship or even been in the finals as far as i know, despite all his 'experience'. He might fill the requirements but I believe he could do a lot better.

@LuckyBlackCatokay. That is the second option.

@fer1323 @Heckno12 Yeesh, I still need to try out Sophia's team against the Dark, Ghost and Bug gym leader teams... Getting around those weaknesses is going to be important.

@fer1323 But he has battled smart. Though he hasn't beaten any pokemon leagues, he has been able to defy odds. Remember that in his last two tournaments, he was able to pose a challenge against those who had easily beaten other trainers that faced them, each having some sort of powerful pokemon. Tobas had legendary pokemon, and Alain had several Pseudo-legendaries and a mega-evolution that has a lot of experience.

Also keep in mind, that he has won other big events like the Orange Islands League and (to a much greater extent) the Battle Frontier.

@OtomostheCrazy TBH I have not watch much of the anime but what I saw and heard about are good points against Ash. On of the biggest is he is inconsistent sometimes. If I remember correctly, one time, his supposedly high level pikachu get beaten by an entry level snivy. True he has some achievements like meeting many legendaries, befriend some of them and surviving all of their clashes, getting the Ash-greninja transformation but like how others pointed out that it feels like he has god's hand or really lucky sometimes. I am sorrt if I sound ignorant. Truce?

@LuckyBlackCat Look at tms and what moves that your Pokemon can naturally learn however If my information is correct, we only need eight badges and there are roughly 13 so there are more than enough gyms to succeed.

Truce, but I will clarify that the Snivy argument is normally countered with the fact that Pikachu was weakened by Zekrom prior to the battle.

@fer1323 Yeah, we only need eight badges, but Sophia is serious about becoming a good trainer, and part of that is covering weaknesses. Getting at least one of those badges would be a way to prove herself, though knowing her, she might go for all three.

@LuckyBlackCatYea. Oscar is going to found the flying gym after learning thunder punch. Psychics is going to be more difficult. I do not fighting types other weaknesses

By the sounds of it, you enjoy Luna. I am taking some creative freedom with shinies. You will see later what I mean. Did you like how I describe the walking, running and eating? Can you guess what pokemon Sol and Luna are? Solnis pretty esay from the obvious however Luna is a bit more differcult but still reasonable to guess.

@fer1323 Well, Grumpig mentioned a type advantage... I'm guessing from the appearing and disappearing that Luna's a Ghost type.

Yeah, I like how Sol's new body is going to take him some getting used to.

@LuckyBlackCat Good reasoning but no. My creative freedom with shinies is I am treating them as demigods thus they get special abilities related to a certain domain. Luna is a red and white shiny that is either ghost, dark or bug with the ability to project her consciousness at night.

@fer1323 Yeah, Sol's an Arcanine (I mean as well as the description, you do have a pic of one...)

I think I'll be able to make an OC once I've read the backstory and have a better idea of what's going on with the bad guys.

@LuckyBlackCat I am planning on making a separate fanfic on Luna's backstory. I plan Luna's backstory to be 3-5 chapters long prequel. Is that sufficient?

@fer1323 Yep! I'd love to read that. It'll be interesting because Absol isn't usually an evil Pokemon, just one that gets blamed for disasters, so I'd like to find out what made Luna that way.
