Sorry for the huge delay, but I'm almost done. Just working on the background. I have two question, though.
One, what/where is the capital of the Kingdom of Leth'Arian?
Two, if humans, or a group of them, like a traveling troupe visited, how would they be treated? Poorly? Fairly? Is there racal discrimination among the Silver elves?
It's cool, and good questions! Lessee...
The Capital is Gondien City on the Isle of Aléborn across the sea of Stars.
Well they'd need to be allowed in the Elven waters, because the Elves are fine shipwrights and sailors and would easily spot them. It depends on what happened after that. If they wanted to trade or see the sights or ply their wares, they might need to pay a tax and then might be able to convince the Elves to let them onto their fabled isle. If they're allowed, they'd be treated as guests. Of course, some Elves are different than others and they wouldn't exactly treat them like royalty, and some Elves would look down on them. But others respect humans.
Whew, that took way longer then I wanted but it is finally finished.
I accept any and all forms of feedback, positive or negative. If something needs changed, I can am willing to talk it out. So feel free to give me your honest opinion. 👍
Username: Crimson Raven
"The name was my father's choice, however it is far too uptight for my liking." Character Name: Marcus Alexander Solidor
"This what I am, no big secret here." Race/Species: Half Elf
"Undoubtedly." Gender: Male
"If you live for long enough, your age becomes irrelevant." Age: Exact age unknown, estimated to be more than a century
"I am Archmage Solidor. Doubt me if you dare it!" Career/Class: (Self-proclaimed)Archmage/Illusionist
Weapons:
Folly: A large sabre that hangs in a sheath at his side, the blade is a deep black, and the hilt is inlaid with gold. The pommel looks like a cresent moon grasping a round red jewel between it's points. It is a high quality, well-forged blade, and it channels magic very well.
Magic: Marcus is an powerful and experienced Mage. He knows a wide variety of spells, from calling fire to making objects stick together. But his true talent lies in Illusionary magic. He is able to cast powerful illusions that can fool nearly every sense; sight, sound, taste, smell, and even touch. However, the illusions have no inherent substance so they cannot directly cause harm.
A pair of boot knives
A plain silver ring, worn on his right hand, enchanted to hold back a little kinetic energy every time it moves. Marcus can mentally trigger it, firing all the kinetic energy it has stored in a single blast. At full charge it could knock a full-grown cow over.
Physical Description: Tall lean and pale-skinned with keen intelligent eyes, it is immediately obvious that he is possed of a scholarly disposition. His face is clean shaven and youngish, he looks to be in his mid-twenties, but something in his eyes reveal his true age to those who look. His eye, with their gold-colored irises, his light gray hair and ears that taper to a slight points are indicators of his heritage as a half-elf.
For his day to day clothing, he dresses rather flamboyantly and richly, with quality cloth, gold embroidery and even small gemstones. His most iconic piece of clothing is a large mantle, trimmed in gold, solid black on the outside and rich purple on the inside. He wears it over a dark orange tunic that he wears open at the front to reveal a beige shirt with black designs. He also wears grey trousers tucked into a pair of black laced up riding boots. On his hands are a pair of long, shiny black gloves that reach up to his elbow. All of his clothing is fastidiously kept tidy and clean. Completing his ensemble are a pair of scholarly glasses on his face that can be magicaly affixed so as to not be knocked off.
Armor: The mantle that he wears is inscribed with layers of magic wards, making the unassuming cloth as strong as iron. It provides great protection against cutting, piercing, extreme heat and cold, and magic. It provides only moderate protection against kinetic energy so blunt force is the best way to injure him. The physical protection only extends as far as the cloth, but the magical protection extends from head to toe.
Equipment/Other:
Money/Supplies for traveling (food, tent, water, ect)
A collection of tomes on various subjects, from magic to cooking
Lockpocks, just incase the knowledge he seeks is in the hands of people who are not the sharing type.
Glasses case, with a spare pair of glasses inside.
Notepad and a travel set of quills and ink.
Varied articles that may or may not be magical (he is stil trying to find out) including a perfectly spherical smooth wood ball, a small, plain-seeming rock that casts an eerily twisted shadow, and some kind of thing that he was given a long time ago and has been trying to get rid of since. No matter what he does with it, he always finds it again. What it is is unclear, when you look at it you can't quite make it out, and when you look away you forget what it looks like.
A "puzzle box" given to him by a dwarf he once did a favor for. It supposedly has something interesting inside, if anyone can open it. It is a perfect cube made out of wood with eye-twistingly intricatly carved pieces.
Mental Description/Personality:
Marcus is a mysterious man with a cunning mind and a sly, scarcastic, dry wit. He acts friendly, but he hides a cold, calculating, manipulative, personality behind that amiable mask. He is also an incurable flirt, quick with a compliment and flattery for the fairer sex. Whether that is an act or a characteristic of him is up for debate. He can be self-centered and egotistical, even worse, he can often back up his boasts. Not much of a team player, he prefers to give orders rather then receive them.
Goals: To master magic and gain immortality. He is a wizard to the core, always pursuing knowlage, especially of magic, no matter how forbidden it might be. He wants to learn of its origin, and to achieve mastery over it. To do this, he realize that it will take a long time and when he dies, his knowledge will die with him, so he seeks eternal life.
Background/History:
Marcus's father was part of a traveling troupe. He was, ironically, a stage magician, who incorporated a touch of real magic to his tricks. The troupe was small, but well known, especially for going to out-of-the way places to perform. Thus one of their excursions brought them to the Kingdom of Leth'Arian and the Siver Elves that lived there. With some difficulty, the troupe leader convinced the elves to allow them passage to the island. There, they had a pleasant time, entertaining and laughing, and there, through some extremely unlikely circumstances, Marcus's father met a beautiful, mysterious elven woman. They enjoyed each other's company, so they kept meeting each other and spend longer and longer amounts of time together. When the trope bid goodbye to the city, they had one extra member. Unbeknownst to them, soon after they left, there was a massive outcry in the city. One of the younger elven princesses had disappeared.
The troupe made it to the mainland without incident, but they were stopped by elvin soldiers a few days out for questioning. They searched the troupe, and their belongings but couldn't find her, because she had disguised herself with magic, and none of the other members were willing to give her away, because Marcus's father was well liked and everyone knew that he and the elven woman were in love, even if the two had not realized it themselves. When the soldiers has checked, double checked, rechecked, and not found her, the troupe was allowed to pass.
Marcus's father and elvin woman, predictably, fell in love. They were never formally married, but they came together anyway. For a year, they were happy and she was soon pregnant. However, the childbirth was...complicated. She died giving birth to Marcus. After that, his father was never the same. He grew depressed, strove to drown his grief in drink, neglecting that fact that his son was still alive. He never was a proper father to Marcus. Eventually his performances suffered so badly that the troupe leader kicked them from the troupe, since he no longer made money, he was no longer worth anyting to him. With little money, and fewer options, they settled in a small city in Praelior. They tried to make a living the best they culd, but Marcus's father didn't have other skills then stage magic, and Marcus was too young for much work. Marcus's father slowly grew worse and worse, and one day, he just disappeared. Gone without a trace, leaving a young Marcus as an orphan on the streets of a dump of a random city.
Fortunately, Marcus is the resourceful type, he had received rudimentary magic training from his father, and at this time, his talent began to blossom and grow. He scraped together a harsh living, doing odd jobs, and more then once resorting to thievery. His magic aided him in this, but it also drew the attention of a conclave of wizards who had their base in that city. They found him, took him in, and upon realizing his potential, gave him to their order to train him. It was there his hunger for knowledge awakened. He was a keen student, absorbing and comprehending their teaching at an alarmingly fast rate. Some of them feared his growth, while others encouraged it. His meteoric rise was halted suddenly by a certain incident. The details are unknown, but the result was Marcus's immediate and perminate expulsion.
Unperturbed, Marcus still hungered for knowledge. He set out to travel the land researching magic. It was his passion and obsession. For the better part of a century, he wandered the land, learning and growing in skill with magic. He built himself something of a reputation, and people started calling him the 'Sorcerer in Glasses' and he is wanted in several lands for stealing secret tomes of magic. Hearing rumors of powerful magic being found in the North, he traveled there seeking ever more knowledge.
Also this brings up the whole Thanksgiving thing. If y'all are going to be busy, remember to let me know. I'm always willing to bend some rules if I am kept in the loop :)
@Crimson RavenI must got run an errand soon, but tonight I'll give your character a good look over, my friend. And no worries at it being delayed for a bit, I know how it is.
It looks well made except for a few areas to add in on. 1) You need to fix some of the spelling, this being an advanced RP and all. Make 'Unknowist' Unbeknownst and 'elvin' Elven as examples. Just re-read and make sure you fix those areas.
Tell me what country/nation Marcus was dropped off in as an Orphan. If it's in the North, at least. If its in the Southland, there are ever shifting kingdoms and fiefdoms and it's quite hard to survive the monsters there.
Also, I don't want anyone particularly powerful, but since he's mostly an illusionist, I can make him an Adept at least. Fairly advanced, especially for someone over a century old so it makes sense. But sure, he can refer to himself as Archmage^^
I'll say your magical wards are as hard as iron. Dwarven steel is fairly advanced.
Also when you've edited, I'll PM you further info on magic.
ALSO, the character is a well made one and I look forward to seeing him in the IC.

Argh, spelling...my only weakness. How did you know?
Edits made, and I added a few small things, just clarifying events in the history.
@Crimson Raven Make "but Marcus's father didn't have other skills then stagemmaguc" into "stage magic" at the end, and make his armor as "tough" as iron and not tougher, and then you can switch it over to the character tab and post whenever you see fit, though once you do, you'll then be on a 14 day timer to post again. Also make sure to re-read posts to get the spelling down pat. Takes some getting used to, but trust me it helps.
is it weird or wrong that in all my rps, after I finish making a character I always think about what could happen if he got in a fight with the other characters. not that they have ever fought friendly people or want them to fight, I just ponder it after making them and then going back and looking at other people's characters

You aren't alone. In my experience, that is a pretty common thought for RP players.
Haha, cool, I'm not the only one. I do make a point though to make my character before seeing everyone else's because of this. don't want to subconsciously try to make my guy have that unrealistic edge on anyone.
and I don't know why I just now remembered, but I'm gonna go take a peak at that other rp of yours too,@POOHEAD189
@Crimson RavenDeathKnights are unholy warriors from the Dreadlands. They gain power by consuming souls and being rewarded items of malice from their Demon overlords. There are two ways to become a DeathKnight. The first, more traditional way is to pledge yourself to the inner sin of your soul, and travel into the wilderness and face the Dreadlands proper, bringing a sacrifice. If you are worthy, and have lived a life of depravation, the Greater Demons shall bestow upon you the powers of a DeathKnight. The other way, is to have a dark sorcerer/warlock in commune with a Demon to gain its blessing, and then sacrifice three innocent souls upon a dark ritual circle. The one within the circle shall become a DeathKnight. They are inhumanly strong and fast, with mystical blades and tough armor that is often enchanted. They are no longer human, but living vessels of unholy martial strength. Many higher ranking ones lead Demon armies.
Think of the Chosen of Chaos from Warhammer fantasy, if you're familiar.
P.S. Your timer began when your character was approved, being an exception :)
@JollanNice! We still need people for my Forgotten Realms RP, if anyone is interested in some D&D action.

Not familiar, but hey, that is what a google search is for. :^)
So they weren't quite what I was thinking. Oh well.
