Welcome to Chromis

"Welcome to the world of Pokemon, I am Professor Grevillia, though most know me here in Chromis as the Pokemon Professor. Pokemon are wonderful companions and friends who help us in everyday life, as well as fight alongside us as friends. However like humans they are much more complex creatures, and each one is different to the other, like how no two people are the same. As such my studies into Pokemon have always been interesting, as I learn that Pokemon grow differently depending on who raises them, and how they are raised by that person.

"Every week in the Beryllium Pokemon Lab, I will be there to greet all new trainers as they register to take on the Chromis League and it's 8 gyms, or should they feel it more suitable for them, sign up for the Chromis Pokemon Contests. If you are one of the trainers seeking to begin their new adventure, I hope to see you there!"

End video message.

Pokemon Laboratory - Beryllium City
Morning

The Pokemon Laboratory of Beryllium City was always filled with people, both staff and public, it was a public domain after all. People would visit to learn more about Pokemon, observe some of the facilities such as the various testing areas and observation areas, but it was most visited for it's PokePark, a place where trainers can rest while playing with their Pokemon. Many even used this place as a social meeting place. Besides it's state of the art facilities, some people visited to see if they could meet Professor Grevillia, who was rather famous throughout Chromis. She was often the first to be consulted about anything regarding Pokemon and often took off to pursue anything that may be new. Most importantly she was known most for her research on Pokemon Ecology, and how Chromis is able to accommodate for a much larger array of Pokemon than any other region thus far. That technology is what makes the Chromis League's now arena in the Ice Palace such a spectacle.

However, today was different, the crowd was made up of more younger trainers than older ones on a social visit. They had fresh-faced Pokemon with them, and a certain glint in their eyes. Once a week Professor Grevillia addresses the new trainers setting out on their journey that day. You can set out on your journey any day you please, so long as you register in an official facility, however the Pokemon Lab is one of very few facilities. At this time the other facilities are going under an upgrade so only the Pokemon Lab is able to register trainers, it's especially more convenient anyways as it has the facilities for registering for both the League challenge, and the Pokemon Contests.

The PokePark was to be used as the venue as Professor Grevillia greeted the new trainers alongside a few Pokemon, among them were Pikachu, Azumarill, Cyndaquill, and a Pidgey.

"You all must be the new trainers embarking on their journey as of today. Well it's good to see all the new trainers embark on their own journey, some may have goals in mind, others may find new goals along the way, in the end it's the beginning of your path in life, where it takes you, you may never know. For instance I never figured I'd become a Professor. Going on your own adventure is like a rite of passage to maturity as you see the world. There are some who also abandon their path and take to terrible acts, but remember, to never give up, despite how hard things may become", she began.

"In any case, I'm sure you'll all do just fine. Just don't forget to register for the Chromis League or the Pokemon Contests if that's your interest. You'll find the desk just outside the PokePark, and to the right. As for the trainers here who have not brought a Pokemon of their own, I'd like you all to see me and we'll pick one out for you. As for everyone else, if you'd like to help me in my research, I will hand you a Pokedex to use on your journey, and if you have any questions I'll be here all day", and with that she ended the address. Among the crowd there were some new trainers walking up to Grevillia. She worked with Pokemon very often and as a result populated the PokePark with many, so they had no problems choosing from there.

Everyone who already had their own, need only register and get going on their journey.

"What do you think?"

Danilo pulled on his blue coat to show off himself to his little friend. He wanted to make sure nothing was out the place. The coat he was wearing was a tad too big for him, but Dan didnt mind it at all. His father gave it to him as a good luck charm for his journey to Chrome. Francis the fetchling tilted its head for several long seconds observing his trainer before it chipped approvingly and fly around Danilos head. Pecking on top of the red mess of hair. Dan was used by this point and didnt even reacted to the peck.

"Oh please Francis. As If I will ever forget that."

The trainer picked the top hat from the chair it was resting on and placed it on. With that settled the fletching sneaked its way under the hat slightly tipping it in the process.

"Lets make it a big day today."

Danilo had arrived in Chrome two days ago and in Beryllium City a last night. It was disappointing that he couldnt complete registration for contests and gyms instantly upon his arrival due to nearly all official facility having a upgrade of some sort. It was thanks to a few nice people pointing in the right direction that he found himself now on the way to the Pokemon Laboratory. In one hand his handbag, and in other his trusty walking staff. Another habit he took on because of his pokemon. Having a sturdy stick with you is quite useful, if your pokemon has angered another one.

"Francis behave until I am done with registration."

Danilo spoke as he stood in front of the pokemon laboratory. Feeling the bird under his hat chip in a way that Danilo translated to If I really have to.

"Yes you do."

He noticed a few strange looks as it appeared as if he was talking to himself, but that didnt brother him too much. Instead he entered the laboratory and soon found himself surrounded with a group of eager trainers. This people will become his rivals as they travel the region. It was really inspiring seeing them. Before he got around to speak to anyone though the professor came and give them an official speech.

Halfway done he stopped paying too much attention to her words as he noticed under his hat Francis was starting to become bored. They were only minutes away from Francis flying off in his own adventure. Which Danilo didnt mind too much back home in Kalos where he knew most places, but here was a different story. He shifted his staff in the hand with the bag and hold the edge of his top hat.

"Just a tad longer."

He whispered, it stopped Francis from slipping out and luckily professor Grevillia finished quite quickly as well.

He let a small breath out and with a confided stride with a slight jump to his step he walked out and towards the contest registration table assuming the waiting row for it will surely be shorter than the gym ones. As he did want to sign up for everything possible up and try out everything.

"Sweetie! How are you? Did you make it through the boat ride alright?" Leo's mother asked through the phone. Leo made sure that the first thing he did after arriving was call home. He had only barely left them a few weeks, but he was already feeling the cruel effects of homesickness.

"Yeah. Did you get the money I sent? There were a couple of rich kids on the boat who wanted to battle and they dropped a lot of reward money. Nado here made quick work of them." The Gible, who was standing right behind him, let out a prideful cry at his trainer's words. Leo wasted no time getting right into the point, something his mother duly noted with a sigh.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it about an hour ago...but really, you shouldn't be worrying so much about us. The point of your journey is to let you unwind once after all these years, remember?"

Leo said not a word, rubbing his forehead in stress. She had a point, but how could he not worry about them? Since dad left, there was no one else there to provide much for them. Working at the poke mart only helped them scrape by and he wanted his family to have more than crappy microwavable meals while he was away. Speaking of which...

"Are John, Travis, and Lily eating okay?" He asked after his brief period of silence.

"Ask them yourself, dear, they've been dying to talk to you." Leo heard the sound of the telephone being handed away to a few overly eager hands.

"LEO!" The boy winced at the combined cries of his siblings, holding the phone a decent distance from his now aching ear. The children were loud enough to draw the attention of some eyes to his direction. Nado let out a happy cry as it heard the familiar sound of their borderline yelling.

"Hey...guys."

Leo heard the phone being swiped from child to child, each arguing over who would speak with him first before an authoritative hand swiped it away from all three of them.

"Maybe later?" The voice was once again his mother's, though he could hear the dejected sighs of his brothers and sister in the background.

"Definitely later. I'll call back later, mom, I should be heading to the lab now. I still need to register for the league challenge."

"Alright, best of luck, dear!"

-----------------

Leo soon arrived at the lab with Nado, again, following right behind him. He was was unsurprised by the sheer amount of people there were ready to visit the professor. He knew that there would be a lot of competition for the league, but seeing them in person made it hard to keep his lunch in his stomach. Without changing the expression on his face, Leo walked down the facility to see the professor surrounded by a variety of trainers. Some had their pokemon with them from the start, while others seemed like they would only just be receiving one of them from the professor herself. He did his best to make sure his worries didn't appear on his face, as he always did, and listened intently to the professor's words of encouragement.

His interest was especially piqued when he heard her mention the pokedex. It was an encyclopedia that detailed everything one could possibly need to know about pokemon, a priceless asset for sure. He tightened his fist. He had to admit, her words reassured him greatly. The crowd soon dispersed when she concluded her speech. Some left to immediately sign up for the either the league or the pokemon contests, while others stuck behind to get their dex before anything else. He himself, naturally, was part of the latter category. It would be incredibly idiotic to rush out without getting one of those things.

"Excuse me, professor?" Leo greeted her, albeit somewhat stiffly. His palms were getting sweaty just looking at her, he never thought just starting out would make him this nervous! "I'd like a pokedex before I set off, please."

Roxy was never very good at paying attention to things.

As she stood in the crowd of trainers, the voice of the Professor faded to the background as Roxy studied the people around her. They seemed to be around her age, and a good number of them had their own Pokemon with them. She couldn't help but feel giddy with warmth and excitement; she had actually made it. Sure, she was optimistic, but she hadn't expected to get this far. It had taken her several days to get from Rustboro City to Slateport-given that her parents had seemingly amassed a small army to find her-and jumped on the first ride to Chromis.

Roxy felt a small nudge on her leg. She looked down at her parter, Lucina, who seemed quite anxious. "Don't worry, we'll be fine! This is going to be great for us. Adventure, new friends, new challenges...what could possibly go wrong?" Roxy whispered. Lucina didn't seem all that satisfied with this response; after all, she was supposed to keep her trainer out of trouble, and now they had run off into some unknown region without much foresight. The small Riolu crossed her arms, quietly studying the other trainers around them.

Roxy suddenly realized that the people around her would probably end up being her rivals. But that was all part of the fun, right? Rocking on her heels, she finally returned her attention to the lady talking up front just as she was finishing her little speech. She had to register? That was going to take forever! "C'mon, Lucina. Let's get registered for everything!" Contests were pretty popular back in Hoenn, and she decided that she might end up giving them a try sometime down the road. So, she chose to register for those first. Lucina stayed close to her trainer's side as the two wandered up to the contest registration table.

There was another person in front of them, with a cute little Pokemon that Roxy had never seen before. "Hey, I'm Roxy. You signing up for the contests too?"

Lusitania Fullerene

Lusitania had been sleeping just outside of town in her tent, Her hair was in a completely wild state over her eyes. She had just arrived here in the region of Chromis yesterday and already she was beginning to love the atmosphere of the place much more than Unova. It was so much more natural than what she was used to and she was loving it.

While she was busy packing up her tent a familiar park made her turn and smile. Luna had come with today's breakfast of a few Oran berries. "Well done Luna! Lusitania said the Pokemon responding with a bark of approval, as she took some to happily tuck in alongside her partner Pokemon. "Okay so today Luna, we register for the league challenge, If we can get into the hall of fame, maybe we can spread the message of protecting Pokemon from misuse or greed, I certainly wouldn't want anything to happen to you. Plus I bet the entire experience will be amazing as well, so it can't hurt to try." Luna responded with another bark of approval. "That's my girl." She said with a grin across her face. "Now let us pack up and go, Adventure awaits!" Lusitania cried as her Rockruff nuzzled its rocks against her wrist.

A few hours later

Lusitania had arrived late, her tardiness once again showing itself, she had missed most of the speech but managed to catch a few important tidbits of registration. Noticing a kid making their way toward the professor for a Pokedex, Lusitania let out a sly grin perhaps she really could queue cut. Lusitania leaned over the guy's shoulder her hair getting in his face as she interrupted that boy's conversation, "Hello Professor." She said with a grin on her face, her eyes darting down to the young boy who was only a little shorter than her and sweating as much as a grumpig, as her eyes turned back to the professor. ["May I receive one of those there Pokedex's as well."[/color] She said as Luna jumped up into her arms, making her let go of the boy and hold onto her rockruff.

York Grevillia

"Fro... Fro... FROAKIE", a strangely coloured Froakie was seen rounding the corner into the PokePark making strange stances and looked as if it was challenging any who came before it. Not too long afterward it was followed by a young boy. The staff would recognize him as the son of the resident Professor, but others may not know, plus their demeanors were quite different. Professor Grevillia herself had a serious and upbeat atmosphere, while this boy was... It almost felt like a cloud. He was quite mellow and not at all tense, almost constantly with a soft smile.

"No Ren, the those trainers aren't signing up for the Shadow Army of Giratina", he calmly said, the Froakie known as Ren wasn't deterred though and kept up the act. The nearby Pokemon that noticed were slightly confused.

"Moooom, can I have a Pokedex too?", he asked as he walked over to the Professor, waving at her.

Professor Grevillia

@1Charak2@Alder

"Of course, it's always good to see young keen trainers. Here, to scan a Pokemon, simply point it's camera peripheral in it's direction. It has the known database of every Pokemon ever seen on Chromis, so if you record any new information, it will tell you", she explained, as she pulled out two small red Pokedexes. Their design was very reminiscent of the Kalos Pokedex, as besides the Rotom Pokedex, this was the latest in design. The difference was that this one slid out sideways instead. As she handed them to the two young trainers, she heard a familiar voice, it was her son.

"Ugh... How many times have I told you to call me Professor when I'm in public...",

"Ahahaha... Sorry, I'll try and remember next time", he wasn't phased.

"Here, your Pokedex. Now... As your mother... Be careful", she didn't seem to be the best at being emotional it seemed, she was blushing a bit. Even after years of having a family, old habits die hard.

"Okay, I will... So you guys are getting a Pokedex too?", he said, turning to the other two trainers who had appeared to the professor for one.

Chance
--------------------------------
He had been there, watching the Professor with his skitty in his hands, gently petting her. After the speech ended he’d look around, watching the crowd disperse and separate into several different groups.

As he pet Blitzy, his pet skitty, she would would shake her head a bit, he’d lift as hand as and as he did Blitzy would jump onto his shoulder.

Gah- hey… whatcha doing there?~

He’d turn his head to face the skitty on his left shoulder.

Mew~

Chance would boop the skitty on the nose, proceeding to find wherever that sign up thing was… he’d glance over at the Professor in a hope to maybe get their attention, hopefully they could help them out. Blitzy would also quietly look around with him, hopping on top of his head.

Ryan smiled as he listened intently to the professor's speech, his partner vulpix resting calmly in his arms, along with being petted. To him, it was like a miracle that he was actually here, about to start his adventure, and while he seemed fairly relaxed right now, inside he was bursting with anticipation. It had been a long boat ride to get to Chromis, one that would have felt forever had it not been for Pixie at his side. He played with her for hours on that ship, getting to know her and her variation from the norm. She was a version of vulpix's that existed in the Alola region, a specific pokemon that his brother Kestin felt suited his younger brother despite not knowing him. Ryan thought he had made the right choice, and as he petting Pixie now in his arms among the crowd, he couldn't feel more happy.

And yet, there was something inside him that was eating at his conscious. I feeling that knew came from his sudden departure from home, not to mention away from his mother without her knowing. Well, she probably knew now as it's been several days away, and he could picture her panicking with his absence. She was always overprotective of him... And while he wanted this to be a totally happy moment, he felt a sting of pain with how his mother would worry about where he was, and how she definitely wouldn't be able to find him for awhile. That's why he'd be sure to make the most of this journey, and he had to do it with just him and his pokemon. After all, he wasn't sure what would happen if he ever went back to Sinnoh...

Shaking those thoughts aside, it seemed the professor had finally finished her speech, indicating that the children gathered could now register for the league, contests, and get a pokedex if they so wished. While he had never personally had a pokedex, he knew that they were a valuable tool for a pokemon trainer, being able to record and identify a pokemon just by seeing it. Petting the top of Pixie's head one last time, he started to move towards the small group of trainers by the professor.

"You ready, Pixie?" He asked her, to which she looked up at him and gave a soft, happy cry. He nodded, and as he got closer to the conversation, he stopped when the one asked two other trainers if they were going to get a pokedex too. While he wasn't directly in the conversation yet, it made him second guess for now in grabbing a pokedex. Maybe when the professor is alone, or at least just giving them out by herself... He thought, instead following those whom he had heard were signing up for pokemon contests. He knew so, as someone in front of him asked another if they were signing up for pokemon contests as well. To him, it was an obvious answer, though he had to mentally prepare himself with talking to someone, especially the person whom he'd have to talk to to register. He kinda wished they would be a pokemon, but he knew that was highly unlikely...

Sadie Hill

Walking down the street was a small girl traveling with a Roggenrola right beside her. If someone were to ask her where she was going they'd get a spiel about how she was finally going through with her dream of adventuring the world making friends among the Pokemon. Towards the end of the conversation she'd finally remember to tell them her name was Sadie.

When Sadie finally got to the Pokemon Lab she was awestruck. Her little Gigaton started lightly hopping around due to the massive increase in noise. She knelt down and said to the Mantle Pokemon, "Hey Giga. We're finally here. You ready for an adventure?" Gigaton jumped up and down as if saying yes.

Sadie smiled and stood up fully just in time to hear the Professor's speech. When the speech was over Sadie almost jumped and cheered in glee. She was so excited that her journey was finally starting. Quickly she made her way to the line to sign up for the Pokemon Contests. This was going to be absolutely amazing.

Chance would also be standing around, close by to Ryan, waiting for the professor to seem- less busy, which didn't seem like that would change anytime soon. Though patience is a virtue after all...- but at this point it was a virtue Chance was severely lacking.

The same could be said for Blitzy, the shiny red skitty would hop around his head, playfully pawing at his hat before hopping once and looking around, locking eyes with the trainer stood next to Chance.

Mew~

The little skitty would meow at Ryan, staring at them- it almost appeared as if little hearts were in the skitty's eyes, it's tail would wave around curiously at the stranger.

...meanwhile, their trainer, Chance, would be facing the other direction, unaware of their kitty's interactions with the trainer next to them.

Talonite

As the professor continued her emotion filled speech, remarking about career choices and futures, one would vaguely hear some music blaring out of the headphones of a teen in the middle of the crowd. His eyes were half closed as he looked at the other trainers in the crowd, seeing a few people around his age. They'd be good for a fight or two. It would be interesting to see if they could make it all the way to the League like he planned on doing.

The professor finally asked if anyone wanted a Pokedex and the boy raised his hand. "I'll take a Pokedex." He walked towards Professor Grevilia with a look that could be vest described as bored. "I'm Talonite, nice to meet you." He looked at the other trainers waiting to get their Pokedex, paying attention to the one with the Froakie. Son of a Pokemon Professor... seemed like a good enough challenge.

"Hey, kid with the Froakie. Down for a battle after we register for the League?" He called out, interrupting his conversation with the other two trainers.

Indiana - Home

"Oua-Uu!"

Indi looked up from his cereal and at his new pet, Princess. She was looking up from her bowl of kibble and small apple chunks with an excited smile. Whether it was from the food or the anticipation of setting out on their journey for a buyer, Indi couldn't really tell. He, obviously, was eager to get out of the house and away from his father and schooling. He shook off those thoughts, though, and resumed eating his breakfast with his Zorua.

After cleaning her up a bit (she needed to look presentable, after all) and cleaning himself up a bit, he headed out. Today, he was going to register for the league, grab a pokedex, and start collecting badges and assembling the perfect team. He did some research and had already found one he wanted, once he got his hands on the pokedex, he'd be able to find it too.

After a fairly inconsequential walk through the city, and pulling Princess away from numerous other pokemon and people crowding the streets of Beryllium, Indi had finally reached the lab, where, once they entered, both Princess and Indi were fairly astounded by the amount of people there. Many trainer or contest going folk were there, obvious by their also fairly young pokemon. It was hard to tell what was going on, but near the front of the crowd, he heard the tail-end of a speech mentioning the pokedex. Picking up Princess (though not in a princess carry, sadly) Indi rudely muscled his way to the front of the crowd to grab up one of the technical marvels. Along the way, Princess seemed to make a bit of a fuss at some sort of round dragon pokemon, turning into it and mocking it with faces before turning back into her original form with a snicker.

Finally reaching the front, Indi realized he had made a mistake. There were actually pokemon already there, assumably to be given out to those who had none. He could have started his journey with two if he had been quicker and smarter. Of course, he was sure his pokemon was much stronger than those two, so it wasn't a huge loss. After shoving past a man who didn't know how to turn his headphones down, Indi stood in front of the professer, Princess scampering up to his shoulder to free his hands at his gesture. "Hey, mind if I get one of those?" He asked with a grin. Princess grinned too, eager to get onto their adventure.

Danilo was given the fill out and was writing his information on it,his bag and staff on the floor beside his leg, when he felt Francis giving up on behaving and slip from under his hat. Flattering exactly around his head looking at everything. Danilo let his fletching for the moment roam as it was staying close to him. He was just putting the last letters in a nice cursive on the fill out when he heard a female voice speak to him.

"Hey, I'm Roxy. You signing up for the contests too?"

There were two things he noticed as he turned around first the row for the contest sign up was by now longer than the league one. That he wasnt awaiting. Of course Dan was at the moment forgetting that pokedex was a thing. Second the blond girl was smiling openingly and friendly at him.

"Indeed my fair lady." Danilo hummed his posture shifting, his shoes clacking together as he fluidly bowed his top hat falling off his head and into his waiting white gloved hand. A thing he did countless of times before, on the hat rim Francis landed with a chip of his own.

"Allow me to introduce us. The little friend of mine is Francis and my own name is Danilo. " Dan couldnt help than to grin, mostly he grinned as he remembered he was trying to tone down this type of habits. He raised his hat Francis flying off as Danilo put the top hat back on his red hair. "May I be graced with your name?"

Francis flu lower that he was at this point on eye level with the blond woman's Riolu. The Fletching eyed the fighting type for good two seconds before he flu into the pokemon face and pecked her in the forehead and flu towards the back to avoid any contra attack. The fletching Francis spotted a white Vulpix with a boy beside her, most likely the trainer and tried to use her white snowy tails as a hiding spot from the Riolu. Just in case.

"Francis!" Danilo voice echoed seeing what his pokemon was doing.

Clack. Clack. Clack. Bedazzled heels loudly clacked against the park's pavement, turning heads of teens toward the origin of the noise. Wavy strawberry blond strands dancing in the air and a playful wink was all it took for easy preys to fall under the spell of Ruby, the charismatic little devil. Walking confidently towards the Pokemon contest line with the cutest bright smile she could manage, the male crowd moved out of her and Berry's (her Sylveon) way, as if to make way for her to reach the registration desk. Just as she was about to reach the end of the now shortened line, her heel turned instead towards the fountain. The confused crowd of people who made way for her whispered amongst themselves, wondering if she wasn't signing up after all. Boy were they wrong.

"Hey, all of you here in the contest line, could you hear me~?" The girl in the flashy yet beautiful dress, ornamented with frilly petticoat, ribbons, and flowers, now stood on the edge of the fountain with her hands gesturing that she was shouting over at the crowd of people. Catching the eyes of the people who stood in line, whether it be confused teens thinking this was part of the welcoming committee or people who were bored in line and had nothing better to do, Ruby smiled satisfyingly.

"Good, now that I have all your attention on me, I'll make a declaration right here and now~!" Flashing a peace sign with a wink and her tongue peeking out at the corner of her lip, a typical idol gesture, she then gleefully giggled behind her hand. Ruby pointed her finger towards the crowd and raised her voice for all to hear her declaration of war, "I, Ruby, will be the next top Pokemon coordinator in the land and I declare all of you as my rivals~! For people who are just gonna spectate the contests, all of your support for me and my partner, Berry, will be very much appreciated, ehe~" Berry was at the background the whole time, using her Fairy Wind to cause sparkling pink trail around her owner for the super cute effect.

..... That caused a commotion among the contest registrants, whether it be of glares of daggers, eyes gleaming with challenge or lovestruck teenagers. Acting as innocent as possible, Ruby skipped back towards the line with Berry trailing behind her.

Chance stood in the line- at least this seemed like the line... people were signing up here so it was most likely right. As Ruby began he'd turn and then quickly turn away. God, such a flash outfit... he could barely stand it but he remained calm and positive. Rivals. Nope. Nope. Nope. There's definitely no way he was going to like this person now. Even if he was signing up for a competition he just couldn't handle that word. He hated it, more than almost any other word. Rivals. Hopefully... this will be a friendly competition.

Blitzy, the shiny little skitty waved her little red tail around before jumping off his head and into Chances arms, meowing softly... at least his Pokemon knew how to cheer him up. Okay geez after that thought came to mind he realized how lonely he was here... he didn't know anyone from the city. Maybe this is his chance to meet some people, maybe someone will try to talk to me...? I can be patient... right?

Roxy giggled a bit at her new friend's...theatrics, if they could be called that. He seemed a bit overdressed for the occasion, although he did look nice. His hat fell into his hand so perfectly that she wondered how many times he'd done it. Her smile widened a bit when he called her a "fair lady." He reminded her of the people her parents would invite over to dinner.

"May I be graced with your name?"

The fanciful way he spoke made her giggle again. She made a note to remember his name: Danilo. And Francis, the cute little Fletchling hovering above him. "My name's Roxy, and this little one here is Lucina. It's nice to meet you," Roxy replied, putting a hand on Lucina's head. She eyed Francis as he flew in front of Lucina, staring her in the eyes.

"Hey, it looks like these two are going to get along," Roxy laughed. But it seemed that she spoke too soon, as the next moment Francis pecked Lucina right on the forehead. As the little Fletchling flew back toward a white Vulpix, Lucina growled lowly, her arms lighting up in preparation to use Counter.

"Lucina! Are you okay?" Roxy exclaimed as she knelt before the little Riolu. She didn't seem to be in much pain, just...well, angry. At that moment, Roxy heard a girl loudly proclaim that everyone was now her rival. Roxy's eyes trailed up to her, noticing the pink, sparkly effects going off. She seemed...confident. But was now really a good time to be making rivals instead of friends?

"C'mon, Lucy. He's a flying type anyway, Counter wouldn't do much," she spoke softly, trying to pacify Lucina as best she could. Roxy turned her eyes back up to Danilo, who seemed just as surprised as she was. "Hey, um, is Francis okay?"

Ryan Frost - In the Pokemon Contest Line

As Ryan stepped into line, he placed Pixie down beside him, who leaned against the side of his leg gently with patience. He was glad that she was a relatively modest pokemon, not really very energetic or showy, but also not very timid or sassy. She was humbled to be his partner, and he was happy that she seemed to accept him, even if it was his brother that originally caught her. In fact, when he first saw that it was a variation of vulpix usually only found in Alola, he was astonished. Not only because there was an adaptation of sorts for a vulpix, but that there were several pokemon who adapted to their environments. Actually, as a second thought, he wondered if there was a regular vulpix in Chromis, and if so, he wondered how they would interact in a pokemon contest. Fire and Ice, similar yet so different...

And then he realized he was staring at a Skitty, who then meowed at him. He returned the meow with a warm smile, closing his eyes as he did so before turning to face the others who were talking. Or rather, the one who was making a show out of it. She was decent looking, he supposed, though a bit too flashy for his tastes. And Speaking of flashy... She didn't waste any time declaring herself to be the next top coordinator and that everyone in the line was now her rivals. As for Ryan, he simply shrugged, not really sure if he was interested in such a thing. Really, he wasn't doing this to win or become top coordinator, but because it would increase his bond and understand of his pokemon.

And speaking of his own pokemon, a fletchling had found it's way to Pixie, causing her to turn her head back to see what was going on. She didn't particularly know what was happening, but she simply stared at him curiously while Ryan looked ahead of them, noticing a rather annoyed riolu and two trainers. The first was someone who seemed just a fancy as the girl who declared them all rivals, with an interesting outfit to say the least. The other seemed to be the Riolu's trainer, as they seemed to have spoken down to the fighter type...
Though, seeing as he and Pixie weren't really affected, he did his best to act natural and occasionally glance down to see how the alolan vulpix was doing.

Chance - Pokemon Contest Line

-----------------------------

PATIENCE IS NOT WORKING AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- he screamed internally, the little skitty meowing curiously as his petting got a bit harsher... the shiny skitty would shake its head an Chance would move his hand away, looking down for a moment his rage of boredom faded.

Oh- uhm... sorry Blitzy... heh.

He would sigh, looking around quietly... he'd look over at Ryan who seemed to have their attention on some trainers doing- stuff... it was hard for him to figure out what was exactly going on...

...

... this is so boring, should I just say something...? To whom? What should I say? THINK DAMMIT!

After the brief internal struggle he decided to finally say something to the guy next to him, turning to face them.

Uhhh- hey, hows it goin'?

Meanwhile... Blitzy would prance around on his shoulders, shaking her shiny red tail around while purring.

Leo gazed up at the girl leaning on him, a tint of red showing in his face from how close together they were. He frowned, his eyes squinting from the hair that covered his eyes. Leo stepped to the side and sized up the girl. First of all, she was taller than him. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about that one. Second of all, she had completely bypassed the line of people who were obviously there far before her. He furrowed his brows in irritation, nearly about to scold the presumably older girl like a child, but the professor handed them both their dexes before that could happen.

"Thank you very much, professor Grevillia." He gave her a polite bow after her mini lesson on how to actually use the dex. Once the place was less crowded, he thought it'd be fun to see what it had to say about Nado. Almost instinctively, he glared at the new girl to thank the professor as he had done so himself, only to shake his head after the fact. He forget. He wasn't with one of his younger siblings anymore.

"Force of habit." That was his simple explanation. He was soon about to leave and register, but was stopped in place by a casual sounding voice strolling in. Was it another cutter? Again? No, no, it was just the professor's son, apparently. He seemed pretty friendly, albeit a bit overly lax. He asked if they were there for their pokedexes too. Leo opened his mouth, once again, to reply. His reply was almost comically interrupted. Again.

"If you want, I'd be happy to teach you some manners myself." Leo gave the purple haired boy a hostile look. Now his irritation had reached its peak. Did no one here have the slightest bit of manners? Did no one understand that you had to wait your turn before speaking and that cutting line was a terrible thing to do? At the very least, he could finish his sentence...before some OTHER guy strolled along, skipping everyone else, yet again, demanding a pokedex from the professor.

Nado, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind the newcomer much. It tilted its head in confusion at the boy's pokemon changing its form, only to then cry out happily as if to cheer on a performer. Nado never was much for anger and he was leagues more patient than his master, that much was for sure.

Leo rubbed his forehead in exasperation. You know what? No. He wasn't gonna allow these guys to stroll in here as if they were raised in a barn, treat other people like trash, and behave worse than his 9, 10, and 11 year old siblings.

"All of you. Out. We're going outside to settle things in a battle.." He spoke with a certain edge in his voice that made chills go down the spines of many of the nearby trainers. He sounded...like a parent.

"Oh right." He glanced at the professor's son before he made his way out. "You can come too, if you want. You seem alright."

All that nervousness he had had seemingly evaporated in light of all their rude behavior.

Lusitania Fullerene

Lusitania who had been waiting patiently holding onto Luna with both of her hands pushed her rock dog forward to grab the Pokedex with its mouth. It held it cutely in its jaws, Lusitania smiled at her helpful little rock dog. "Thank you so much for the Pokedex professor, I'll be sure to put it to good use." Lusitania said happily as she pulled her rock ruff back.

Then she felt the chill. Someone in the room was in annoyance at her actions. 'Sorry' she thought in response as she frowned, turning to face the boys stare that was drilling into her back. She was about to say 'what' but before she could even begin to speak, another boy had come over asking for his Pokedex. Then another. This entire time Lusitania just stood there observing the first boys slow descent into madness at everyone's actions.

She wasn't even surprised when the boy snapped, in fact, she responded quite well to it. "Sure. I'll be up for a battle." Her voice sounded happy but it had the dark undertone that signified she was going to deal some serious damage. Even Luna was looking determined at the challenge, The Rockruff was always up for a fight, in fact, she's quite adament for them.

"So where shall we start kid." She teased, insulting his short height. "After all I was here first so it only makes sense I get the first battle, no?" Luna grinned at hearing this. "So when you are ready. Let's go." Lusitania challenged, as she ruffled Luna's hair. She was completely ignoring everyone else but the boy with the Gible. whom had declared such a challenge. It was safe to say, Lusitania was very excited.
