Show of support or something, silly really. So, no, you could've said something earlier, and seemingly you were aware of the argument in here. In fact, you probably could've stopped the argument. Waking up to a hurricane of salt every beautiful British morning that could have been prevented by just a tiny bit of foresight from all parties involved. I stay up to 4AM to keep things going smoothly and with as little drama as possible in RP and then the moment––the moment––I go to sleep, something happens that then gets amplified and made worse somehow within no more than six hours.

If you're rejected from a RP, don't go taking said RP's specific formatting. Make your own similar roleplay 'with blackjack and hookers', it doesn't matter, but c'mon, copy-pasting is a step too far. It's basic immaturity. Similarly, if you're not the GM of a RP, don't go all on a crusade on behalf of the GM team when they ain't even awake. Level-headedness is paramount, and drama should absolutely be kept to PMs and not dragged into another person's OOC or a bitching thread because all it does is damage your friends' reputation and gives them a headache––almost everyone involved with running a RP knows this (or should).

That's why the rejection was done via PM in the first place, and why a request for credit in the CS (or a request to not use it in the first place) would have-should have also been done via PM.


RPG is why I'm a neurotic, highly-stressed control freak, guys.

I'm had at least 4 or 5 people (that I know of) who've used my character sheet formating and rule sections nearly word for word. I don't really mind, it's kind of flattering in a backhanded sense. Usually people ask if it's okay, I always say yes. I just ask people consider crediting me for the formatting so if on the off chance they come across my game, they know nobody is ripping on another off, and I won't lie, I enjoy being acknowledged for the work I put in even if it's for something inconsequential.

To me, it's like a group project in school. It's irritating when you put in all the work while your partner gets credit for it.

Does it matter in the grand scheme of things? Of course not. You should still do the polite thing and ask if you can borrow ideas or formatting. I mean, unless someone rips one of my characters or plots, I'm not going to bug them about it or anything. This is a hobby, not a livelihood.

I wanted to laugh, or to cry out in indignation for the artists who crafted the games' story, but instead I had to just sit there and let this vaguely dreadful ennui flush over me with my hands at my cheeks, jaw gaping wide and tongue struck dumb, simply staring at the screen as if to wonder whether this person really had the shameless irreverence to post this back-alley Tijuana abortion on the internet for all to see.

This is a bitch towards myself; but I always feel like I never bring enough meaningful diversity to a cast whenever I make an RP. Whenever I GM, I tend to make a lot of different characters... but the last two RPs I felt like I made too many girls, or too many characters with a similar function shall we say.

Just got done a few games of Yugioh online this guy starts complaining and whining about my deck. I brick (a term used for a bad hand), and he has a lot of set trap cards that negate my ability to do things. I start losing and he starts making fun of me and deriding me while I just sit there and shrug. He doesn't even go for the win. He just sits there and makes all sorts of immature trolly comments that even a middle schooler would shake his head at. It just kind of frankly disgusting to see people act like that online. My deck isn't even a very strong deck even so considering the archetype it's a part of and it's intended purpose. I come online to play a game not to listen to you whine, and then mock me like some adolescent five year old. Eventually I just left without saying a word it wasn't even worth it. It's especially stupid since he himself was playing a deck with 'no skill' which was what he was starting all this shit about it basically just replenishes itself and doesn't go away.

This, I do not mind so much in 1x1 RPs. When busy, they can move as slow as the last bit of super-dense ketchup stuck at the bottom of the bottle; still worth tapping.

I didn't read through the whole thread but still wanted to gripe about something that bothers me sometimes in fights.

I don't mean as though the characters themselves give up on winning a fight, but rather the poster doesn't want their character to lose so badly that they will continue to try writing their characters out of situations. I mean this in the form of breaking character. Where a member may do everything in a characters established power to survive, or win, a battle but loses due to either not being skilled or generally less powerful/creative in their fight. That is fine.

What is not fine is when people create a complete new ability or have a huge power boost for no reason other than 'hiding it' from everyone on the site till they deemed it 'needed.' I had a few experiences with this and found it overly frustrating to try and fight someone who at any moment would become more powerful purely to win in the single battle, even if it threw off the actual RP.

On the flip-side though, it is fun to have battles with characters that are more powerful than you and seeing if you can win. But if GM calls it or it is blatantly obvious that your character is up to snuff, I feel that you should write out your character trying their best to win a hopeless situation rather than give up. It gives a better sense that all your character could do, they did instead of someone sulking about the fact they will lose.

Glad to have that out of my system.

I miss the days where RPing last-stands up to par used to be a pre-requisite to nation roleplays.

I'm so annoyed that I'm FINALLY back in the mood to actually roleplay and literally ALL my roleplays are at a standstill. It's so god damn frustrating.

No matter how hard I try to pretend otherwise, I constantly get reminders of why I should stick to the Advance section.

70% of the Casual section is straight up retarded.

I stick to the High Casual roleplays for a reason. A lot of only Casual is garbage, but I just avoid the trash. But now I'm going to the Free section for like two roleplays. The roleplays are fun- I like the concepts. But most of the roleplayers themselves are garbage. Run-off sentences, misspellings, bad grammar- I can barely READ some of the stuff they put on there.

I want to understand the mindset of the people who are willing to spend enough time to express interest in an RP, ask questions about an RP, design a character for an RP, edit and adjust this character so he gets accepted...

...but who, once the RP is up and the character is accepted into it, suddenly decide that showing up and actually posting in the IC tab is just too much fucking work.

And forget ever getting an apology or at least an excuse. These people disappear and they want you to wonder whether they're coming back. They want you clinging to false hope.

To those of you who do this, why? Is it ego? You want to know people are thinking about you, so you entrench yourself in that "fashionably late" bullshit and just take it to extremes? What is it? What? Why?
