That doesn't exactly change the fact that from the nihilist point of view, all the idiot just did was throw water on them for some reason and expecting some kind of response...

Do I look as if I had much of a choice given the unvarnished amount of... stretching the boundaries like a piece of worn-out, well-chewed bubble gum... having been unfolded in this tavern ?

IYou cannot continuously have the most powerful guy in the room walking around unhurt. Even Mirai would have a tough time in this situation and she's among the Master levels we have.

Holy crap, Mirai is Master level? I am quickly rethinking that challenge that you gave yesterday, since Elaine is just barely an Adept.

Your argument says I could throw tap water on a vampire and as long as I make him believe it was blessed, it burns him to death.
The vampires belief is irrelevant. That water is imbued with power when a God fearing priest uses the collective belief of millions and millions of people.

Nah, I thought it would be fun to make the second in command to the new coven an apprentice... XD Just kidding, please don't stab me.

Yeah, Mirai is a powerhouse. She's built for ultimate destruction but not much else. Her accuracy isn't very high which is why she resorts to a more hand-to-hand style than seen with your average witch.

Have you ever heard the term 'Greek Fire' before?

By the way... master level ? adept ? What are you talking about ? I thought there have been no assignments/talks about the system yet or did I miss something entirely in the character creation process ?

Somewhere on the first post, the one where the skeleton is... Is a chart concerning the power levels of both witches and hunters. It wasn't so much an assignment as it was a guide to gauge the power of your own character. Experience is as necessary as strength, so it was really a self guide if anything.

EDIT: Tbh... I might bump Mirai down a level though as it doesn't leave much room for growth... That and I don't really want more than one Master Level witch at the moment. Wouldn't be fair.

...Actually that sounds about right. To be fair through, Vampires tend to have an... interesting relationship with water at the best of times anyway. They can't cross running water, they really don't like being submerged in it... For all we know, the whole 'holy water' thing is just a myth; Vampires are actually just weak to normal water, but the people who go ahead to kill them with it get the water 'blessed' because they aren't taken any chances and think it might help. Won't exactly harm their odds.

@WeepingLiberty I know the system from the old RP, but there it wasn't entirely left to the silent self-judgement of everyone so I thought I had missed something. Sorry.

I've never liked that water rule, I think that was the myth so people would foolishly feel safe, although VTM gave backing to it by associating it with the great flood. But Anne Rice ignored like many others as running water is everywhere, taps, underground streams, rain.

Getting anywhere would be a nightmare without a sewer plan.

Never herd of a vampire melting in the rain tho... Witches on the other hand!
Moving away from the water we have the same argument with holy symbols.
Even the most badass vampires get burned but they just ignore it.

If Nihilism is a defence to holy magic I'm learning science to ignore magic.

In my opinion, magic is a form of science. Just not one we understand yet. That being said WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT OF A WITCH/WITCH HUNTER RP IF SCIENCE CAN JUST IGNORE MAGIC?!?!?

Geez you guys are killing me today. XD Let's just go with standard lore, holy water against vamps and demons, iron against fae... etc etc.

High Adept is still pretty powerful. She's just not a complete monster yet. It's probably in Arden's best interest I bump her down a smidge.

@Ellion The flooring of the tavern is my fault being that I didn't know how big it was;

@Dark Light@WeepingLiberty [Im forgetting a lot of people]

I envisioned the tavern itself being a lot bigger apparently and the travel times between each vile from one to the other would be substantial especially if they were thrown one after another one having a much higher travel time if the second was thrown in an arc.

Considering the average human reaction time to feeling is 0.15 seconds someone who constantly observes and monitors the flow of current avoiding both shouldn't be an issue.

the tornado was a bit much being that I didn't know this place naturally weakened witches
I can see where the bolt should have hit.

@Fetzen

Jared was crouched down so its highly unlikely he'd be cut by glass being that a window should be at least 2 - 3 feet off the ground.

A railgun in general is pretty easy to make especially if you control electricity. You need two parallel railings that can conduct electricity being two of her fingers probably the pinky and the index finger generate a fair amount of electricity if the projectile (like a coin) can be magnetic it will jump forward the speed of which will be increased the longer it travels (You can make one in your own home with two pieces of thin iron rod, an electrical plug and a coin) just remember middle finger for B-field, thumb for direction of force, and index finger is for direction of current then match vectors.

One thing...Please let's just call it magic and not science :)
We have witches after all we don't need to back it up.

Generate a fair amount of electricity... Understatement!

Your shooting coins like bullets, and essentially have a literal 'hand gun'.
Let's not try say it's science, it's magic.
Your fingers are not ferromagnetic so your outright creating your own magnetic fields.

Other things to consider and reasons it's not a mainstream weapon.
Theres a high force that is also pushing the rails apart.
The power source and requirement is pretty huge.
The rails generally only survive a couple of shots due to the large amount of heat in the short circuited layout. Plasma and corrosion damage.

So don't try it with your home power supply coz your just gonna trip your breakers.

But concept is cool.

But thats me for the night, interested to see where things are when I wake up in the morning. XD

@Dark Light that's not 100% accurate if we're going from an electrical source you only need enough energy to equal the length of the rods also the current loops into the other railing creating a magnetic field that looping field charged the object and sends it flying forward with force equal to that current pushed through it. You can actually do it with a car battery if you have something powering it. The circuit created from said interaction (the principle behind lorentz force) is pretty simple to make. The projectile shorts the two railings and jumps forward. I only know this because I tested it out granted I needed to tape several magnets down under the two rails its also worth mentioning it only works with DC power
