The President was in the oval office sitting down getting ready for this meeting. President Ray Mason was sitting down, his time in the oval office had been stressful. But nothing compared to the past month, ever since that Storm things had been going down hill. He remembered the speech he gave the day of the Storm. Then things began to progress, all sorts of weird things happening across the country. The whole rumors of super powers were dismissed, but after yesterday it was time to take federal action. He gave a speech on live television about what happened in Atlanta, how they'd get stronger as a nation, how the person would be punished it didn't matter if they could move walls and shake the foudnation of the earth itself they couldn't ruin the country. Now he was going over some information that a high ranking CIA operative Cori had sent him.

All this information was unbelivable, a project to experiment with superhuman abilities, documentation and proof that it caused the global storm three weeks ago, re-engineered extera-terrestial alien technology, and the fact that said aliens had tried and failed to invade the planet and they had been detained somewhere on this planet. "This is insane, Director, Cori Woods is almost here..and this meeting can start? I understand you have a more..militaristic approach about we should approach this issue, and deal with potential superhuman individuals. I must admit I'm eager to hear Ms Woods opinion first before I make my own, these people no matter what abilities they may or may not have many of them might still be U.S Citizens."

Director Verdock rolled both hands into fists at his side, and his knuckles cracked. Yes he had a more direct approach to deal with these........things, but you could not consider them U.S. fucking citizens. Because in fact they arent citizens, they are monsters. Hell bent on causing destruction and mayhem. "Mr. President I assure you if you let me take over the super power front, I can contain it within a week and keep all damage within the predetermined amount specified. These.....Empowered ,as we have labeled them, are nothing more than super powered insane criminals sir. I can only hope Ms Woods does not have a sympathetic approach."

The door opened and Cori Woods was escorted in by a man in a suit, who curtly nodded and returned outside the office. Another operative may have been nervous or tense, but within the short window since last night, she felt properly prepared. Even as she prepared, though, there were new developments happening in Atlanta alone, and it was almost too much to keep up with. Being the woman of grace she was, she stepped forward to formally introduce herself, offering a firm handshake to both the Director and President. "Good morning and thank you both for inviting me here. I've put together a comprehensive portfolio about, um, my findings, but I'll walk you through it, of course," she explained, handing both thick binders before sitting down across the table.

"I...retrieved documents that explain everything, outlined in those binders for your eyes only. And it's inconvieable, what has happened: there is an unaffilated organization called Coalition. According to the information, they obtained alien technology. The storm three weeks ago was caused when they attempted to-- I'm not even sure what they were thinking. Duplicate it to use it as a weapon? But that Storm is exactly what created the superhumans we see now. And, just to confirm, they are superhumans, Mr. President. I've seen first hand what they're capable of." Wondering if she had talked too much--over both these powerful men--she pulled back a bit and cleared her throat, red eyes flickering between both.

Ray could tell that Director Verdock didn't have a sympathetic stance towards these superhuman individuals, although he could hardly blame him with everything that happened especially with that hospital in Atlanta. "You will certainly have the leading authority, as well as Cori as it was the CIA who brought this to the United States attention, but I still think some discretion is needed. Yes there's been some chaos, and some suffering, but we can't jump to the conclusion that every person who has these abilities is a killer." He wondered what Ms Woods approach, and relaxed in his chair as she entered.

He shook her hand as she came in and was ready to hear what she had to say.He accepted his binder and began a preview of looking through the information she had."This Coalition seems to be a very dangerous organization, I read about what they did in their efforts to kill you to prevent this information from getting into the CIA''s hands if anything they should be a priority just as much as these Empowered individuals if not more seeing as how there responsible for not only the powers, but also the Storm three weeks ago. I see at this point as far as I'm concerned there not rumors, so Verdock what do you suggest?"

Verdock held his wrist by his right hand behind his back and narrowed his eyes. "Mr.President I have to urge extreme prejudice. We have had strange reports of these empowered people, enought to warrant labeling them, and now that we have proof it is obvious. We have to keep the proof out of public hands about what happened, and then hunt down every Empowered we can. They are all dangerous criminals. It does not matter if there are any nice ones, the bad ones have gone too far. They have ruined anything these...creatures...could have obtained." Verdock sighed. "And as far as this new organization is concerned......we should leave them alone. They seem to want to get rid of these Empowered, so we can deal with them after this crisis has passed."

"We can't ignore Coalition--with all due respect," she said maybe too quickly. "When they attacked, it was with a platoon's worth full of armed men, trained to kill. They killed American civilians in trying to retrieve the information I've given to you this morning. I don't know what their goal is in regards to the Empowered now that we all have to deal with them, but I haven't seen any evidence of them acting against these superhumans either." Cori paused, searching for words. "Whatever we do...I think we need men in the field on both fronts: searching out more intelligence on Coalition because we know so little. But I do agree with Director Verdock that we must act against the Empowered, as well. They're too dangeorus. And who knows how that Storm affected them--it may have altered their minds too or something."

Director Verdock narrowed his eyes at Cori. "Ms Woods, do you presume to have all knowledge at your disposal? That your rank allows you to everything?"

Cori could feel the heat creeping to her ears, but she only swallowed hoping she wasn't turniing too red. "No, Sir, not at all. It's just that I have experienced these dangers first hand--both Coalition and the Empowered--so I feel like my input is valuable." She paused again, deciding whether or not to voice her thoughts. She decided wrong, her tone ice: "But, please, feel free to educate us with your experience, Sir."

Ray wasn't expecting all of this. This discussion was not going to be as smooth as he planned, but with the matters they were discussing this was to be expected. "I agree we need to take action against individuals with powers..but what exactly that action should be" Ray paused as Verdock didn't bother to let him finish as he explained why they needed to do what he said and soon. "I'll say this..The Coalition took the lives of innoncent American citizens, not to mention they experimented with highly dangerous foreign technology that could have even worst disastorous effects then it did on the planet, then what?" He said stressing the point that while the Empowered where the main issues The Coalition had already shown to be a dangerous third party. "Her direct experience is something you don't have Director" He could sense the tension and actually wanted to smile but not now.

Director Verdock could almost feel a vein popping in his forehead. If onyl they knew........."Sir I was appointed head of the entire CIA for a reason. Believe it or not, not everything is shared amongst the politicians of DC. You people here are busy, you have other things to worry about." Verdock gripped his wrist so tight he could feel it almost cracking. "But in this case I shall share. This is not the first report of Coalition I have had. And right now, the Empowered are more of a trheat than Coalition can ever be." Director Verdock then looked at Cori. "Ms Woods you will remember your place. And you will remember you are not the Director. I am."

"Then what do you suggest, Director Verdock?" she asked, sitting up straighter to frown at him.

"I suggest we immediatley outlaw all Empowered. Any empowered that surrenders willingly will be spared, apart from the ones that have commited mass murder but we dont tell them this. We send those ones to trial, find them guilty, and have them executed. Humanely for the publics sake. We send all empowered to government facilities for testing and safeguarding." Verdock laughed in his head, safeguarding.........."Coalition's goals are slightly obscure, but they are interested in the Empowered. We can use this Mr President."

Ray had to nod his head in agrement Verdock was picked for a reason, and he thought it was about time to bring up the proposition he'd been talking about with Congress. "I can accept and believe that perhaps some information about The Coalition has circulated around before, my only concern is there willingness to kill American citizens to cover up information. "I must say Verdock..first off..your idea is..effective but extreme..I still believe there are some of these people that may be good U.S. Citizens who didn't even want abilities, or abilities that may not even be dangerous or even those willing to co-operate with the laws. First I want to tell you this the CIA will be in charge of the anti superhuman actions against the Empowered, Verdock of course your in charge, but we'd like Cori to run the Task Force and submit directly to you." Ray paused to let that sink in.

"So Cori will be in charge of everything else field missions ect regarding them, however her department will focus on Empowered, you still have the CIA to run after all she'll just run every major executive descision by you, and you can of course get as involved as you can be with the task force as well. Second there's been talks to allow this Task Force to have authority over Homeland Security, the military, national-guard, FBI, and even police forces whenever is neccessary. But I will say this..what your suggesting..I really don't want to do but I admit if it turns out all the Empowered is dangerous I will 100% support these actions Director Verdock, and I'll even propose a bill to put them into action. However this is a democracy, and without Congress, and the Supreme Court I can't authorize that only what's already been put on the table. We're in the talks of developing facilities to contain these individuals across the country, so I can authorize the CIA to began rounding them up and removing them from society for now. Deadly force can be used against those who prove dangerous or those who've already commited heinous acts whether or not their powers were used to support them. I will inform you that this is illegal, but this is an emergency situation based off what happens the next few weeks or months we can make a desiscion about whether or not an Anti Empowered Bill needs to be passed and if the extremes you want will be neccessary." Ray said releasing all the information he had and his final opinion on the matter.

Director Verdock was not one to smile often, but he did let out a partial upward side lip raise. This was just what he needed. He had been given authority, and now even more freedom to do as he wished. He knew what was at stake, and he knew he was the only one who had the courage to do what needed to be done. But Cori Woods........Verdock sideways glanced at her. She had been given more privelage than he wanted her to have.......the Verdock thought of something. The President had given her a chance, or a rope. Maybe that rope was long enough so she could hang herself with it. "Excellent ideas sir. But If I may, despite the previous words said, shall we allow Ms Woods to have more? She certainly is motivated. And has the attitude to boot. She is in charge of the task force, and all Empowered Operations, so lets give her the access she needs to do her job. I would like to promote Ms Woods to Director of the Georgia branch. That way she is able to have all the freedom to act she needs, and we should give her level 1 access." Level 1 access was the highest level of security access an agent could have, right below directior access.

Cori remained silent as the men discussed what plan of action to take with the information she gave them. Needless to say, she was pleasantly surprised when President Mason himself declared her in charge of the field techniques that would fight the empowered. A rare smile--two in one week, impressive--started to show and she thought it was excitement that had her and Verdock sharing knowing glances. However, she found herself stunned by his suggestions and taken off guard. The smile faded and her brows furrowed together inquisitively. However, she didn't dare interupt. This was exactly what she wanted: to excellently serve her country with the goal of rising through its ranks. So despite that nagging feeling in the back of her mind telling her to protest and be appropriately humble for once in her life, she didn't.

"Director Verdock, that..that's quite an honor that I can't say I expected," she said carefully, her ears ringing. "I appreciate the proposed opportunity and responsibility and I'll take it on seriously."

Ray was surprised by Director Verdock's change in attitude but in some ways he wasn't. Verdock wasn't neccessarily a bad man, he was a man who liked to get the job done. What some say as a cruel strike he saw as a willingness to get the things done that others didn't at all costs. Still he couldn't give in to such an extreme motion so early especially illegally, it was bad enough he was doing what he was doing. Still he'd feel bad if Verdock turned out to be right and lives were loss but it was a risk he was willing to take for the sake of democracy. "Alright Verdock.. I can agree to that, I'll grant your request congratulations Cori Woods. I know you'll serve your country well, and Verdock..we do tend to disagree but you know I picked you for a reason so needless to say I know you'll do the same, we can get a handle on this situation, and although I know I couldn't immediately authorize the actions you requested I hope this compromise turns out for the best..."He spoke confidently but still in the back of his mind he'd seen the footage of the hospital in Atlanta, if they all turned to be like this he'd be the first one to push Verdock's bill mainly due to all the sleep he'd loose at night knowing he had a chance to start now.

Director Verdock nodded. "Understood sir. Now, may we depart? We have much work to do." Verdock indeed had much to do. So much planning, so much strategy, so little time. And Woods.....oh Woods. Verdock inwardly smiled. She was a pain in his ass. This will show her that women have no place in the CIA.

Cori blinked at the Director and hesitated. This was it? She had expected--or at least hoped--for more direction, of any sort, and the size of her role was quickly dawning on her. "Right... Uh, thank you. I'll stay in touch," she said, looking between them.

"Alright this meeting is adjourned, we're having make-shift facilities set up right now. Get everything set up by Monday we can start removing Empowered individuals from society. Like I said this is illegal, if they have a prior criminal record that makes it easier, build up from that..if they don't just do it swiftly..if there going to be lots of people who notice there missing plant evidence of crime or criminal history if neccessary or just blame it on Empowered themselves it's not as if they haven't shownt he capability to make people go away..let's get to work, we have a coutnry to fix." President Ray began organizing the paper work on his desk, he had a speech later today yesterday he'd talked about Atlanta, today he was going to talk about the whole country.

Director Verdock nodded, walked over to the door, and held it open as he motioned for Cori to walk through first. As rhey walked down the halls and to their own respective means of travel Verdock spoke. "I assume you will treat this temporary grant of power with care. After this fiasco of an event, maybe you can even keep it. Just so long as you are actually able to end this Empowered nightmare."

Despite the generous promotion, Cori could sense the tension between them and the coolness of his tone. "I don't want to keep it, sir, with all due respect. I'm aiming for the top, but I appreciate the sentiment," she responded before coming to a pause where they would go their seperate ways. "And I won't be a second choice when I'm there."

Jace Williams - Atlanta, Georgia - Shit gets Real

Jace was enjoying the latest development in Scandal. Personally he was a big fan of President Fitz, and Olivia's relationship, it was never a dull moment in the show.

"Damn this shit like crack." Jace decided to leave Netflix, he was done binge-watching the series, and in the mood for some food. He didn't want to go out and buy food not here not with his face all over the news. So he decided to get to cooking, and ended up cooking up some lemon pepper wings while listening to J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and 2Pac. He was in the mood for some lyrical stuff to really make him think and evaluate everything that was going on his life.

"Damn Devon..I wish you could see me now bruh..the way I'm living, the shit I can do, I swear we'd be running shit, man, fucking kingpins." He didn't have what it took to be a major drug dealer himself, nor did he want that lifestyle but he'd help his brother get whatever he wanted if he was still around. Still he ended up going inside to turn on the news when he saw a caption that caused him to raise an eyebrow. "The Super Thug's Girlfriend makes an announcement."

He watched the video Jane put together with shock. "Damn she's hot... I mean..fuck..though..she's fucking crazy..holy shit." Jace couldn't believe he watched the people screaming and burning then exploding. He wondered what kind of power she had to do something, the people were literally cooked alive. Perhaps some type of power over the temperature or fire either way she was dangerous and she wanted to meet him. Despite how attractive he found her, partially because of the Harley Quinn costume, he was pissed that this ...fan of his was killing people to get his attention.

Then he paused maybe this was a sign a chance for redemption, this was what he needed to do. If this girl's infatuation with his crimes was leading her to kill for attention then perhaps he needed to find her and stop her. He had no gripes with killing Officer Lauren, his probation officer, Ebony, and a slew of drug dealers and police officers. Although he did regret it..he felt he was somewhat justified all of them were awful people in their own right, the fact that he let the judge live wasn't just because of his guilt but because he couldn't really justify killing the man for simply doing his job.

"If I made this bitch I gotta slay her..at least if I can before Monday if not then fuck it the city's on it's own not like Atlanta's eve done shit for me." Really he honestly didn't know how he would track this woman down, and he wondered if she believed the rumors that Jace Williams was associated with the "Super Thug". "Fuck it." Just as he was about to turn the news on he saw something even worst then the situation with this sociopathic killer his sister getting booked for the murder of 20+ innocent people in a mass shooting." Tamara no!"

"NO!!!" He was trying to figure this out it didn't make any sense, his whole world was turned upside down. He didn't believe Tamara did it, and he wasn't going to allow the police to just handle his sister like this. Something had to be going on, then a thought flashed in his head. During his fight with Luke yesterday, his power had allowed him to mess with his head. Luke wouldn't do anything to her I mean..damn it...damn it!

Jace suddenly forget about going after Jane, fuck Atlanta, fuck all of Georgia, fuck the United States. He'd already lost one brother to violence and another to the legal system, he was getting Tamara out of jail by force, and they could leave today for all he cared but the police weren't going to take his life apart anymore. He raced down the steps to his car, and pulled out the parking lot in a rage he had to get to the precinct and get Tamara out.

Hector Ramirez - Atlanta, Georgia - The Alcoholic's Humble Abode

"aah this is the shit" Hector cracked open another can of bud light and started downing the contents. It was the morning and he was already on his fifth beer, he liked to start off the day a little heavy, then ease into it then really start drinking at night. It was a perfect routine, he was watching Olympus has fallen, with some light jazz music playing in the back-ground.

At first he was depressed when Evi left him, both of his daughters were dead, and he took full responsibility. He always tended to wonder what would happen had he acted differently, if he hadn't been an alcoholic. He thought about everything he'd learned in Alcoholics Anonymous, everything he could have done had he lived differently.

Still nothing would have prepared him for the last three weeks. He thought his years of drinking were starting to catch up to him. It started with painful head ache's and brief flashes of lights which evolved into images accompanied with voices. He found the more he drank the easier they were to deal with.

He'd been to the doctor, and they suggested he see a therapist. But then it got worst, or rather better. He would have visions of sorts of various things, sometimes related to him, sometimes to other people. He had no idea what they meant but over the weeks he was beginning to find out, at first he was in disbelief it was impossible for anyone to see the future. But he'd come to accept that reality, and learn it wasn't anything to do with alcohol delirium.

He was also coming to the terms with the facts that he had to do something about his visions if they were real. The first thing he did was he ended up making the news when he found and rescued two girls who'd been kidnapped two years ago by a vicious predator. He'd broken into the man's house, assaulted him, and freed the girls. He made the papers as a local hero, and for the first time in a long time he had a celebratory feeling as he downed his fifth of Vodka. It had given him a rush, a feeling of happiness he hadn't had in a long time. Still other then that no other visions had come that really made sense until one. It was so graphic and so tragic he had to act on it, even if he felt disgusted.

Which brought him to the present as he was cracking up another beer." Alright..you sure you don't want a drink, I mean after the shit you've been through." He inquired as he sipped some of his beer.

A woman could be seen with a solemn look on her face, and shaking as if life itself had frightened her. "N..not beer I don't drink that I want something strong..really strong."

"Alright Andrea, you deserve it if anybody, after the shit that happened to you." Harry put down his beer and got up going to his fridge to retrieve his bottle of Ciroc. He poured up a heavy cup before filling it with lemonade and cheer coke and bringing it to her. She instantly accepted the cup and downed a good portion of it as if the elixir of life.

"Thank you...thank you so much Hector..I ..thank you" Andrea barely had any words to say, today she was talking more then she had in a while since he got her, he couldn't believe what he did, but now he knew he couldn't ignore another vision.

Harry was driving the opposite way. He couldn't believe he stopped his drinking to go out to an old graveyard this was crazy. Sure his visions were true, but perhaps this was one wasn't. He was fighting the urge to go home and have some more Captain Morgan when he decided fuck it if a person was in this predicament he had to help them. He went to his trunk popped the shovel, and got to digging. It wasn't long until he came across fresh dirt, and opening the coffin he found a woman gasping for breath, covered in insects, and literal shit. She screamed for help, and almost attacked Hector yelling "JACE PLEASE JACE PLEASE!!!!" Finally he calmed her down, and got her out of the grave.

He didn't even bother to re-bury it Andrea was shaking with fear thinking that this Jace guy was watching or that he might come back. Hector was inclined to put a few bullets into his brain any man that could do that to someone, but she claimed that bullets didn't work on this man. ""Don't worry let's go..come to my house I'll get you cleaned up."

"You don't gotta thank me, if this bastard is the one that's out here killing police officers, and whoever else then he needs to be stopped. Fuck it if bullets, blades, and fists can't stop him, there's gotta be something that can right? ."

"I..I..need to go forward, talk to the cops, tell them..I..I.'m alive he killed my husband, he killed Laren, her husband, the kid, her neighbor April..so many others.." Andrea was about to burst into tears. Everyday she was crying, she didn't want to drink but at this point he felt a intoxication was better for her.

"NO! That's wrong, if this guy is as strong as you said he is, and wants to get "revenge" for the law putting him in his place, that's the last thing you need to do, next time he'll finish the job. He buried you alive, listen Jace Williams right, I can't say I've ever come up against a bullet proof man, but like I said I've got a power of my own I.."

"A power?! You can see the future, what's that gonna do against him, if you go up against him you won't have a future to see! Hector...if anyone should go it's me..I have nothing left, the world has to know who this fucker is, he took EVERYTHING from me" She was speaking mroe confidentally with the liqour in her system and she downed some more of the mixed Ciroc beverage as she started to cry." He took everything, he's a monster..."

Hector sighed he was trying to put on a brave act, but he'd seen the violent footage on TV. "Look we'll find a way to stop him let's just..do something else fuck Andrea I need a drink myself." Hector sighed it had been a long time since he had a woman in the houes and he wished it was under better circumstances. He decided to turn on the news where they were talking about the destruction of the hospital, he didn't enjoy watching the news any more but Andrea insisted. Ever since her encounter with Jace she was obsessed with keeping up with the current events about super-humans.

He made his way into the kitchen and got the Ciroc chugging out of the bottle then grimacing then making his own mixed drink albeit much stronger then the one he served Andrea. "Holy SHIT!!! HECTOR!"

Hector came rushing into the kitchen wondering what Andrea had seen and saw the headlines." Super Thug's girlfriend speaks." He settled down on the couch vodka drink in his left hand beer in his right and he ended up drinking both at the same time as he watched the disturbing video...and just took the remote turning off the TV. "Stop..I can't watch this shit...I can't...damn it... damn it I have visions about other stuff..but not them...if I knew how to force these visions I could find these motherfuckers before this stuff happened, before they did this stuff to people...there so powerful...yet I can't control my shit..fuck......" Trutfully seeing Heather die reminded him of his own daughter and her tragic event and tears began to come down his eyes." THese people are monsters." Hector just wanted them to be stopped, someone had to do something about them. What Andrea had went through was horrific, and he was upset to think he almost didn't intervene.

This time it was Andrea who reached out to Hector putting a hand on his shoulder." Y..Y..You can, all of you people aren't bad, your good Hector, you can get better, and even if you can't stop them..there's bound to be more of these people with powers who aren't fucked in the head, someone like you, you can find them, stop Jace, stop this fucking bitch, stop all of them, show the world..that some of you can do good..trust me..it dosen't matter what anyone thinks Hector...I know what you've told me your story, but none of that matters, if it wasn't for you I'd have died of starvation in a coffin covered in shit and bugs...there's no words that I can ever say to show the full extent of my gratitude, your a hero to me....some how we can figure this shit out..somehow." Andrea couldn't believe she was the one talking now, alcohol was a hell of a drug and she needed a-lot of it after what Jace did to her to function.

Kieran
and
Cori

Cori was still replaying the meeting in her head. It was something out of a dream: she walked in there fully expecting to act only as an informant. She didn't expect either of the men to jump at the chance to give her free reign to act as she pleased, but now she was suddenly in charge of the entire Georgia branch. It was a daunting task and while it was she would take on seriously with the intent to do her job excellently, she felt doubt in the pockets of her mind. "That prick," she whined, dropping her head against the steering wheel. For minutes, she sat there in the car in the lot of the Atlanta aiport before sitting up suddenly. "It's still Saturday."

She patted at the heart of her jacket, where she felt the key sitting safely in her pocket. Then she patted the opposite to find her pack of cigarettes...empty. "Fuck it," she decided, finally turning the car on. She had already called her father to fill him in before leaving DC, but she was desperate for some sound--to take her mind off her situation at least until she got to Kieron's base. So she flicked on the radio, which was already on a station known for its "classic" country, but her nose wrinkled at the pop vibes and drove faster.

Kieran had waited patiently. Once on a mission he waited 24 hours in one spot, under water, with only just barely enough oxygen in his scuba tank, just for a single moment so he could avoid being detected. If he had jumped the gun or messed up someother way and stayed undetected. he would have had to wait another 24 hours. On another mission, he waited litterally two months for a single piece of intel that was a single sentence. On both times, he had been quiet, been productive, and made the most of it. This was not one of those times.
Hour one:
Kieran had prepared the home cooked meal and set it on the table, freshly seasoned and still steaming. He had lit the candles, and made sure everything else in the medium size studio wa slocked and secure. Nothing had been out of place, nothing had been dirty. As the hour wore on, Kieran sat waiting patiently.
Hour two:
Kieran stood up from his chair, and stood behind it. He kept his hands in his pockets, going over mental techniques of meidtation. Something to calm him down.
Hour three.:
Kieran paced the room quite quickly. Had she forgotten, had she decided not to come? He texted her the time to arrive, maybe she lost her phone. He had been blunt and not really given her an option to say no. And why did he care? Kieran though that since this was more than a simple dinner, like a covert op, that must be why he was so anxious. But he had never been anxious like this before. Not since he had been captured by a foreign terrorist sleeper cell that hid on american soil, and was known to torture the.....sensitive areas.
Hour four:
Kieran had worn a white button down shirt with a black vest, black dress pants and shoes. His shirt was slightly less buttoned now, but still appropriate, and he had taken to practicing hand to hand combat with the air.
Hour five:
Kieran had taken off the vest, taken off the dress shirt so now he was wearing a sleeveless white shirt. He had taken to doing pull ups on a pull bar attached ot the wall directly across from where the door and dinner table was lined up.

The sleek, black Aston Martin pulled up to the house. It was only then that she realized she hadn't thrown the guy any warning texts or calls about her arrival, but he was the one who invited her. So she shoved the thought aside, locked the door behind her, and approached the house. A pale hand came up to knock at the door, but she hesitated, remembering the keys in her pocket. "Well," she said, pulling the keys to enter the home herself.

And there was Kieran. She blinked, taking off her sunglasses to rest them at the collar of her shirt, eyes watching the flex of his muscles for just a moment before she glanced away and around. Her nose wrinkled as she caught a whiff of the cold dinner. "Smells good," she said, finally closing the door behind her with a gentle clack.

Kieran quickly pressed his feet against the wall, ran upwards, and flip backwards landing on his feet facing Cori very much suprised. If he had a weapon he would have thrown it or pulled the trigger. Kieran thanked himself that he didnt decide on target practice. Kieran noticed that while he didnt smell, he had aquired a small amount of sweat. Kieran walked over to the counter and wiped his face off. "Oh. Hello. Well....it did smell good. I apologize it is cold, time does that." Kieran set the rag down and put his shirt and vest back on. Kieran felt slightly sunbconscious about his appearance now. "I wasnt sure what to make, so I made italian spagetti. With meatballs. Im not much of a cook honestly."

"Showoff," she accused after his flip. She pulled off her jacket as she spoke, looking further around the house. She didn't miss the nice pants or the discarded button up, and felt underdressed: sure she dressed professionally after getting back from such a high caliber meeting, but she felt stuffy all of the sudden. "Italian's alright. I can't cook at all," she admitted. "So, what do you got for me? Besides the cigarettes you owe me." She sat down.

Kieran pulled out a pack of camels from his pocket and held it up. He then walked over at sat down across from Cori at the small table. He then set down the package and slid it across to Cori. "Yes because you won. Here. Not much of a smoker myself, too many substances can be put in a cigeratte and kill you." Kieran mentally smacked himself. Real flipping smooth, Kieran thought to himself. "How did your meeting go today with the president?" Kieran picked up a small pale from underneath the tabel with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. The ice in the pale had turned to water but the wine was still cooled. "Drink?"

Cori's eyes sharpened at him, eyebrows furrowing as she hesitantly picked up the pack. It was definitely an odd thing to say, but the question surprised her even more. "How'd you know who I met with?" she asked, sitting back and crossing her arms, clearly uninterested in the wine after that.

Kieran did not show any emtion. He poured two drinks and set Cori's glass in front of her plate. "Excellent vintage. Recieved it as a gift from an arabic embassador. And I didnt know, you just confirmed it. I guessed. You just obtained the extremley important flash drive. You are a high ranking CIA agent. The flash drive contained some....unique info. Wasnt hard to guess, but I didnt know."

Her cheeks warmed and she sighed, glancing away. Kieran was young, but perceptive and his actions spoke to the experience despite his age. It annoyed her, and--for a moment--she could sympathize with all those people she surpassed within the CIA. She was just a know-it-all brat, and she could feel her new rank weighing on her shoulders especially in this moment. Silently, she accepted the drink he poured for her. The wine was quickly downed and the empty cup set aside in only a moment.

"So," she sighed, looking for a topic about anything but her and that whole day. "Learn anything while I was away?"

Kieran raised an eyebrow, then filled Cori's glass again and left the bottle on the table. Kieran drained his glass, then took a small bite of his food, suprised that it wasnt total garbage. "Not really. I havent done much. Accepted some work in the city, I bought a store. I do have a few things on my plate though. Someone has started sending me work, someone who apparently knows me from my past. Before that, I started investigating that super powered psycho who sent my associate to the hospital. Then there was that whole harley quinn thing. So did the president believe you about alien and super powers? Let me guess you have a task force?"

"I don't even think I believe me about the aliens," she complained. Though she followed his example and took a bite of the food, figuring she shouldn't drink on an empty stomach. The small pout of the lips and nod of approval was about the closest thing to a compliment Kieran would get, and she took another bite. Especially with Kieran, she figured she shouldn't be drinking wine on an empty stomach. Her thoughts were already a little too delayed and she scowled. "What's a Harley Quinn?"

Kieran shrugged. "Something some crazy women called herself. I think its a fictional characters name. She made a video of kidnapping and killing the mayors daughter and her roomate or something. I will be honest I heard of it all last second, I was preoccupied. But one thing is clear she is desperate to meet the psycho who put my associate in the hospital. Like, insane love at first sight. She is crazier than him, and she wants to be his queen. And God save anyone who disrespects the queen I guess. You avoided the question, was I right about the task force?"

"I can't talk about it with you," she stated.

Kieran shrugged. "So I was right. You know its going to be a short conversation if you like that." Kieran poured himself another glass, and drained half of it. "Im not gonna spill anything. Think of it....as a game. You ask me something, I ask you something."

Cori sighed and punched at the bridge of her nose. "But it's not a game, Kieran. I'm not like you. I have allegiances and loyalties here. I can't just..spill information to you over a game," she snapped, sitting back and away from her plate. "You don't get it because you're freelance, but some of us are taking this thing seriously, okay? Lives are at stake and already being lost."

Kieran froze, not so much suprised by her reaction but caught off guard. Similiar in nature but two different things. Kieran remembered this was why he chose not to interact when he was not on mission. People were so diffucult to.....interact with, especially those with codes. "I wasnt asking for state level secrets you know." Kieran took his fork and flipped it once in the air, letting it land on the tip of his finger, balancing it. "One, I offered my services to you, which is in turn the CIA, free. Two, I am sorry but did I say I didnt have alliegances? You just assumed I didnt. Im a freak now, and my fellow freaks are going to be hunted soon. I want to try to save as many innocent freaks as possible. Three, Ive worked CIA missions before. I am sure you have done many things good for your country and job, but who do you think has had to do the dirty jobs so you can do the nice jobs? Im not asking for a thank you, but being a free lance means I can help as many people do the good jobs and sleep at night. Its not why I do it, but its an after effect." Kieran drained his half glass and took another bite. He wa starting to feel quite a little tipsy.

Cori's scowl deepened. Her fingers tapped anxiously at her bicep and she looked around the house. It would be dangerous to venture into the conversation about Empowereds with Kieran, so while she would've loved to argue, she hesitated. She could still use him and despite his freelance status, he has been willing and open. And she wasn't all bad: she felt the guilt in a small pocket of her mind for thinking of him in such a way. But, she had chosen her loyalties long ago and he wasn't in that picture. "What exactly are your plans, then?" she asked. "For this whole mess?"

"Well my options are limited right now arent they? I have no intel, no backup, no anything. I cant accept any high end contracts because I cant leave the city, and my one point of interest," Kieran said pointing at Cori", Continues to treat me like I am the enemy. I mean what do you think I wanna burn he CIA down? No. Good organization, does a hella lot more good than it does bad. But.......I guess I am sorry. I realize your very.......work involved and I didnt mean to push you."

At his apology, she visibly realxed: her shoulders lowered and she uncrossed arms to pick at the pasta again. "I just need to be careful," she explained. "The Coalition agent you killed--it was my fault he was a part of the retrieval team to begin with, and he just...murdered my men. I can't just..." Her voice trailed off and she shook her head, and she sighed, reaching for the wine glass again. This time taking only a sip before sitting up again and taking another bite of food.

"Whatever, you get it. If you want to help, identifying more of the Empowered who have been fucking up Atlanta would be appreciated," she said, her tone not nearly as sharp as it had been earlier. "From what I can tell, most of them are hiding their identities--most of the violent ones, anyway, and we really need to get them under control, first things first."

Kieran sighed. Well got out of the frying pan but he was still in the kitchen. Why he was in a kitchen, why he was in a frying pan, Kieran had no idea. But it seemed like work was a sensitive subject, and she was goal driven. The info about the agent he killed.....that was new. He had no idea that was a coalition agent. "Well.....If I was going to identify more....you called them Empowered? Hmmm, not bad. Ok so we are Empowered. Not bad at all. Some will fight back. I will need....as silly as this sounds.....better equipment to hide myself. Is there some way your CIA lab workers can make me a suit and something to hide my face? "

Kieran knew it was risky to bring her work up again, but he had no choice. He could go in wearing his dress shirts, but he would be found out instantly after his first attempt."It would need to be resistant to the elements, and the face guard would need to block inhuman frequencies to prevent mind control. If I can get that, I can talk to them face to face and even make them an ally. We forge an alliance and stop Empowereds from using their powers for crime." Kieran tapped his finger on the table. Then took a swig of his drink. "Also I should be able to locate more Coalition agents soon. I am working on a plan."

Cori kept her face straight, but she hadn't meant to call them for their new technical name in front of Kieran. When the sentiments against the supers came out, he'd know exactly where it started. But for now she just nodded. "We'll probably have new gear coming up pretty soon. Just send me your measurements and it'll be easy to get you a set." She poked at her food and licked her lips with a sigh. "I think they want me focusing on the Empowered. But Coalition is the bigger threat--and the source of them anyway. I'm not going to ignore them, so thanks. What's the plan exactly?" She recalled that the president had mentioned Coalition had been on the radar for a while and she frowned. This whole situation probably could've been avoided if he had taken some initative against them a long time ago.

Kieran frowned and could not meet Cori's eyes. "Honestly, I am going to steal something that could help me identify coalition agents." Kieran poked at his food and sipped at his wine. He filled his glass and offered more to Cori."I swear it wont affect anyone in a bad way. I do the bad to help the good remember? But if this works I could have a pattern to snuff out any coalition agent. Once we identify who is who, we can take the fight to them and this war wont be so one sided."

Cori blinked and pulled her glass back to take a sip. She didn't need it topped off quite yet. "Where are you stealing the intel from? I could help," she offered.

Kieran looked literally anywhere else besides at Cori but tried to make it look like he was avoiding her eyes. "Its ok really. Let me handle this part. You just need to be the one to take the credit for finding the agents. No way woudl they accept a free lancers word. Well...ok maybe they would take my word considering what Ive done for the CIA but probably not."

She wanted to press, but she held herself back: she was keeping quite a bit from Kieran, and pressing him for answers too hard wouldn't be fair. And it wasn't so much the fairness she cared about, but she wasn't quite willing to share in return if he was already helping by getting the names of Coalition agents. "Keep me updated on them. They tried to kill me and they can bet I'll return the damn favor," she grumbled before stuffing her mouth with food.

Kieran picked up his glass and motioned at Cori. "I told you, I wanted to be close by because of something like that. I knew Coalition was gonna come after you." Kieran took another sip of his drink, fully feeling the devils nectar now. "But I have to say, vengeful you is......well...not bad at all. Brings out the color of your eyes."

Cori blinked and glanced away with a shrug. "I hate the color," she said. Then she sighed and fixed her hair, not quite sure where to take the coversation. They covered plenty, and she knew to look into some Harley Quinn video... So she pursed her lips, growing quiet and awkward again.

Kieran mentally face palmed. Kieran, he thought to himself, you moron. Kieran thought for a moment then used his index finger, he tugged on his dress shirt, slightly unbuttoned, until you could see a small patch of skin right belowe his collar bone. On that small patch of skin was a mark, in the shape of a strange symbol in deep red and black. It almost looked like a cross between a pentagram and a star. "When I was a child, my...father...branded me with this mark. He said, boy this will teach you pain. I thought he meant physical pain but after he branded me, he made go shirtless for almost a month, making everyone who saw me see it. For awhile the skin was damaged and it it made my chest look really ugly. But.....now it s a part of me. I take pride in it. I am unique in this way, well I am now. My fathers family is all gone so I am the only one with this mark."

Kieran let go of his shirt. He looked Cori in the eyes. "Basically what I am trying to say is......you shouldnt hate any part of you. I think.....it looks good but you should also. Your unique. Better."

Cori watched him and swallowed, attention on the brand. "Kieran, I'm sorry that happened..." she started, but paused when he looked at her again, wrapping up his point. She sat there for a moment, eyes finding something else to occupy their attention as she thought. Then she sighed again and picked up her glass to swirl the wine inside. "Thanks. It's a killer on your eyesight, though, you know. I'm one of the best shots in the agency. It's not better, but..I guess it shows I work harder to get to where I am sometimes.[/colr]" She nodded, satisifed, and took another sip.

Kieran nodded. He thought on it for a moment then finished his what was left on his plate. "Huh. Good to know, in case you ever get tired of me and decide to hunt me down huh." Kieran took a sip of his wine, words ever so slightly slurred. "What is your weapon of choice? I prefer something silent, something quick to the draw and doesnt need a ton of stoppin power. But thats me."
Kieran wiped his mouth off with his napkin. "Maybe next time we do this we go to the shooting range. Would love to see your grip and aim."

Cori nodded, a teasing smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Yeah, I could teach you a few things, I guess," she said, glancing at him before taking another sip. She set the glass down in exchange for her fork again and took another bite. "But...I like range. It's easy to confront another person with a powerful pistol or shotgun.. But there's satisifaction behind the patience and skill it takes to kill from a half mile away. They don't even see it coming."

Kieran raised an eyebrow and smiled. Obviously, no intention of hiding the pleasure of the moment. "Killing from a distance is fine and does take the right amount of skill. But you put yourself at such a......disadvantage for the future. Patience I am well versed in, but when the time is right wouldnt you want to know for a fact the job is done. Getting...up close and personal allows you to show your skills and confirm for yourself you have done the job. Sometimes you get dirty......but I am not afraid to get dirty."

Cori nodded a little, watching him. Her lips parted like she was going to say something, but she decided against it and poked at her food instead. "Spoken like a true freelancer," she said lightly with a teasing roll of her eyes.

Kieran feigned hurt. He put his hand to his forehead and closed his eyes. "Oh how you have wounded me so. Happy dagger pierce me true, sheathe yourself inside my heart." Kieran laughed gently. "Too cruel. That coming from the cold hearted government women."

Cori shook her head and finished her glass of wine; it had helped but it didn't quite erase Verdock from her mind. "Well. This was...oddly pleasant," she complimented (kind of). "But I should... She paused and sighed, eyes closing in irritation. "I can't drive home like this," she realized, scowling at the empty glass of wine.

Kieran realized he was in the same boat and was in no condition to drive her home. "You can spend the night here. The sheets are clean, and there is a shower with new utilities. I am in the same boat I cant drive in my current state." Kieran checked the nearly empty bottle of wine. "If you do stay In have better stuff than this."

"I don't need more to drink," she assured. "But it does look like I'm stuck here, so thanks." She thought for a moment, as best she could in that moment. Nothing having much else to add and wanting to avoid on another awkward silence on her fault, she cleared her throat. "I'll take the bed then, thanks," she said before getting up.

Kieran stood up, slower than he would have prefered. "Yea go ahead." Kieran walked over to Cori, slightly wobbly, and stood in front of her."Goodnight." Thats when Kieran made it weird. Kieran wasnt sure what to do next. He almost went for a handshake, but nearly withdrew his hand. Then opened his arms, for hug maybe he didnt know. Then he went to just pat a shoulder but did not touch her. Kieran blushed slightly and rubbed his neck with his other hand. Then he chuckled. God he was dumb. Kieran wasnt sure what to do.

Cori watched him make a fool of himself, and covered her lips to suppress the giggle. "Goodnight," she returned. She would walk past him to find the bed, and "accidently" and quite rudely bump into him as she left the room.

Kieran blushed madly, and almost turned his head as she left. But he controlled himself. Kieran walked over to his desk, and sat down in his chair. Kieran laid his head down on his desk and thought about every detail he could remember about the night.

Julia pulled into the parking lot of a local sporting goods store and parked in a remote spot a good distance from the actual store. She was having second thoughts about this heist, she'd never done anything like this before. Apart from the drugs she was a nice law-abiding citizen, a firefighter, a government employee herself. The whole thing gave her a feeling she wasn't comfortable with. But she had been assured that noone would get hurt, and to distrust him would be to violate her very core beliefs. She really didn't want to think about what the distraction might have been if she wasn't a part of the plan, at least this way she could make sure that at least on her end noone really did get hurt. Still, if Alan wanted a 'distraction' she was gonna do it her way, he might not like it, but as long as it kept some attention off of him he was in no place to complain. It was a reassuring thought, at least enough to quell her concerns for now.

Julia meandered through the store taking time to check out all the camping equipment before getting what she came for. Alot of nice stuff, it was nice to look, but she didn't actually need any of it. So she eventually turned her attention to finding what she came for, not that it was difficult. A few minutes later she was looking at a small section full of football helmets, stacks of Xeniths and Riddells in a variety of colors and some with the Falcons logo on them. The design didn't matter, she was gonna change that regardless, the fit however was important. She tried on several helmets, occasionally she'd laugh as she caught a glance of herself in a nearby mirror. She certainly wasn't built like someone who would typically wear one and add to that the fiery red hair flowing out of in every direction from every helmet she tried on, it was just enough to tickle her fancy. But eventually she settled on a plain white Riddell helmet and a black tinted visor.

Back in her Jeep Julia set about phase 2 of her plan for the day. Bringing out her phone she began to look up hydrographic printers in Atlanta. The list was short, and they were all willing to do custom work so she chose by distance. Of course going with the one furthest away. A few hours of Atlanta traffic later she had dropped off the helmet and design she wanted on it, and with the assurance that it would be ready to pickup the next morning she set off once more. Going wherever her whims took her for the rest of the day.

Harry Creed - Atlanta, Georgia - Second Chances

The past few days hadn't been the best for Harry. The situation had continued to escalate, to the point the President had spoke last night about the incident at the hospital in Atlanta. It was clear to most of the country that people with superhuman abilities existed or that where was a high possibility they did. There was nothing else that could possibly explain what happened yesterday besides perhaps some highly advanced experimental technology, and even then with everything else on the news that was highly unlikely.

"Fuck.."Harry was looking over all the information he had, several Coalition agents including Zach Colch had died. The superhuman Jace Williams was working with the CIA, and they'd retrieved the information. He'd ordered the assassination of Cori, and they'd failed thanks to his interference.

The Coalition had decided it was high time they started kicking things into high gear, the whole world was on the verge of knowing about them, and soon they'd be going at it with the CIA. His phone ringing again and he answered." Hello...listen."

"No you listen here Agent Creed, so far you haven't been doing the best needless to say the situation isn't going well. We can't allow things to get any further with the "Empowered" situation" His superiors were upset that things had gotten so far that the media was starting to label these people. "Were issuing a Code Red, we're bringing the rest of our re-engineered Vamon tech back into circulation, we're going to need to be a step above the competition especially now that they know we exist."

"Your kidding me after what we did giving people around the world powers, your bringing that fucking alien tech back? We need to round up the Empowered, eliminate the unstable ones, and get back to building the army..we have no idea about the true extent about what half that tech can do we."

"Then we need to know! Your the one who wanted to rely on superhuman soldiers rather then this. This technology is gonna give us the edge, the CIA is one thing, soon what if we have to compete with Chinese Governments, Russian Governments, we start using the tech what we know, we learn more, and we use what we don't know any more, also that one machine..we're putting together our operation in Miami, Experiment G is going back online we need that weapon more then ever."

"Not Experiment G.." Harry's voice sounded grave with distraught." You know what even the Vamons said about that, listen."

"No you listen here, you don't want any alien tech then fine you risk dealing with super humans, and the entire U.S Government on your own, the rest of the organization is going to stay around, Experiment G won't be up and running for about a month or two, you know damn well I do't want that, but it's the only other super weapon we have besides the Gene Accelerator..and after the Storm we can't use if we want, if you can deal with this Empowered situation in that time line maybe we can fix this, but right now the Vamons are the least of our problems, there won't be an earth to defend if things keep going like they are now you have your mission."

The conversation was dead, and Harry sighed things were bad. Giving people powers was one thing, but if they completed Experiment G, hell the Vamons who'd taken the technology were branded traitors by their own species. The violent imperialistic alien savages themselves didn't want that weapon to be used, and now The coalition wanted to handle it. He'd put a stop to that, but something had to be done about the Empowered. Which lead him to his current location outside of Sera's apartment he sighed. He knew who she was, an ex CIA agent coerced to come work for them for one final mission but he had some information about her he thought he could use to his advantage. He knocked on the door and awaited her answer something had to happen, he had to fix this before things got worst, before Experiment G became a reality.

Alan, Christoph and Kieran, Midday Saturday

The preparations were well under way for the heist. However, while most of the crew was running around getting equipment, scouting the target or getting their affairs in order, Alan had a particular job he needed to take care of. Their way in. In theory they could have tried to force their way past the lock which may even have worked flawlessly, but that wasn't exactly the kind of chance Alan was willing to take against a well protected facility such as this. As such the plan had become to have Christoph, now code named Taft for the operation, disguise himself as one of the guards and then let the entry team in. To do that they were going to need that guard's stuff, and to make sure said guard did not show up to work during the operation. Which brings Alan here. A small town outside of Atlanta where in a humble two story house a few blocks away lived their target, Olivia Berbank. The plan was to have Kieran sneak in the back door while Christoph distracted Olivia at the front. Seemed sound enough.

Alan pulled over the car a ways before the target. "Taft, this is where you get out. Good luck"

"I got it," Chris said, opening the car door and beginning to change as he did. His fair features grew more rugged and his hair shortened and changed color, and when he was completely out of the vehicle, he already looked like a native Russian man. With a map in hand, he began walking in the direction of the target's house, walking slowly both to give the illusion of being lost and to prevent himself from getting winded.

It took him a few minutes to arrive at his destination, but he eventually did arrive, looking legitimately lost and confused. Instead of heading directly to the house, he paused outside, making a subtle show of checking the map and his phone before shoving the latter into his pocket in a frustrated gesture, then advancing to the target's house and knocking on the door.

An answer did not come for a few moments, but soon enough footsteps could be heard coming to the entrance and then eyes through glass around the door. The lock clicked and the knob turned to reveal a woman of about chris's original size standing quizzically. "What do you want?"

"I, ehm, apologize. I am not from around, and have gotten very lost. Can you help?" Chris asked, leaning heavily on his Russian for an accent.

From what seemed like out of nowhere, arms protruded from behind the women, wrapping around her mouth and neck. Slowly, while she struggled, the women was lowered to the ground until Kieran was visible behind her. After a few more moments the women went limp, and Kieran picked her up in his arms and stood up straight. Kieran looked at Chris and spoke. "Done."

"I know I wanted someone close to my body type, but this just seems like a mean joke," Chris mumbled as he finally got a chance to look over his chosen form. Still there were worse things to turn into. He quickly commited her features to memory, then entered the house. "I need to grab one of her uniforms, her equipment and her ID. Can you call Alan?"

Kieran nodded. Kieran put the women over his shoulder then, as he walked to the garage, he texted Alan. "Pull up in to the garage, opening it now."

Receiving the text message Alan stopped driving aimlessly around the neighborhood and made his way to the target house where he pulled up the driveway and into the garage. He was happy to detect two conscious bio-electrical signals and then a third weaker one, presumably from a less than conscious target. "No problems?" he asked Kieran as he got out of the car searching for the garage door button.

Kieran shook his head. "No so far so good. Minimal security so far, this will be the easiest part of this job." Kieran walked to the back of the garage, found of door control, and lowered the garage door. Then he walked over to the car and spoke to Alan. "Can you pop the trunk?"

The door to the house opened as Chris walked into the garage, carrying an equipment belt and uniform under one arm, and a locked safe under the other. "So, I don't suppose either of you can crack a safe? Her belt has a holster, but her gun is probably in here." He put the safe down on the nearest surface with a loud whump.

"Load the girl and her stuff into the car" Alan said with sudden excitement. "I want to try something..." He had cracked many a safe in his time, but usually with proper equipment. Even then most of the times he actually did it on a job the safe was cracked loud for the sake of time. Still this little safe seemed to be electronic which made him think that just maybe he could get it to open with his powers. Why not try anyway. He started by typing in the keypad and trying to sense out the electrical signals sent just as he did to detect the presence of people. Then when he was fully convinced he was on the right track he started to send electric signal of his own through the lock much quicker than he would have been able to input them. It still took a few minutes, while Alan was blind to the world around him, but the Safe beeped and opened to reveal the guard's weapon.

"Thanks," Chris said, grabbing the weapon and sliding it into it's spot on the equipment belt, "Now can we get out of here? I'm starting to get antsy."

Seraphina Smith

Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Her apartment)

As Sera continued to watch the news she got up and moved over towards the fridge and opened the door she grabbed a beer from inside and closed the door. Sighing slightly she wasn't sure why all of these people were doing this, but she knew that some of them were dangerous, she was sure that some of them were actually good people and probably were using their abilities for good. But Seraphina knew that the more dangerous ones that were using their abilities to harm others they needed to either be taken out or imprisoned so that they wouldn't be able to hurt anyone else. Seraphina started to head back over towards the TV and sat down on the couch taking a sip of her beer, she leaned back in her seat. She then decided to change the channel to watch a sports game.

That's when she heard a knock on the door, Seraphina got up heading over towards a table near the front door, she pulled open a drawer where she had her handgun hidden. Sera slowly pulled it out and quietly closed the drawer, still she was slightly paranoid when she didn't have any uninvited guests to her house. Sera quickly looked over and then grabbed the files that she had and quickly slipped it into the same drawer she had her handgun in, there was a keylock she had on it and grabbed the keys making sure that they were locked up securely inside of the drawer.

Sera kept her handgun hidden behind her back as she slowly approached the front door and opened it, when she did Seraphina looked over at the man who was standing in front of her. She didn't even recognize him Sera simply kept it partly open enough so that her head was sticking out, eyeing Harry up and down for awhile before finally speaking. "Can I help you?" Seraphina finally asked.

Collab with KIDD

Just her first day in Atlanta had been one hell of an experiance. Ariana sat in her motel, one hand fishing french fries out of a McDonald's bag and the other clicking between windows on her laptop. She was reviewing news and the fotage she managed to get when the hospital was attacked, and since she had discovered that the attack was indeed done with a bullet. "Why was it so large though?" she wondered with a tired sigh. It wasn't until she rewatched the news coverage that she noticed familiar faces. She blinked and sat up in the bed, squinting at Tamara in the video. "Holy shit," she muttered and looked around for her phone.

She found it, the case fluffy and white. First, she found Tamara as an old contact and tried to reach her. However, when she didn't get an answer, Ariana squinted her eyes at the phone in annoyance. Then she tried another number: Luke's. "Pick up, anyone," she pleaded quietly, gazing around the motel room.

Luke was freaking out today had started off good, with a smoke session to behold all smoke sessions and now it was going down hill vey fast. He was high and maybe that was part of way he was freaking out, he'd went to get Lucy but decided to just her sleep. She'd been through alot already going after Jace, her powers, loosing her job, being barred from her own apartment, the car accident, and basically being on the run, compared to him she had been hit with a train of problems.

"Fuck this dosen't make any sense." He knew Tamra was prone to have some anger especially with him but often it was either him, Jace, or someone else who provoked it. They weren't one of the people she shot at, and he doubted she'd even shoot them. He was already out the apartment, being that this was an emergency he stopped to only roll two blunts and put them in a game green pack that he put in his pocket before he dipped out. Tamara had taken her car, and Lucy's was pretty banged up, plus he didn't want her keys. He ended up catching a Lyft to the remnants of his apartment, going to his car which was luckily still parked and got in." I gotta go help her" He felt his phone buzzing and looked down to see Arianna's number and squinted." Arianna." He knew she'd graduated and finished college and was about to ignore it given the circumstances but with everything going on the past few days he decided to answer if anything i'd be good to hear a familar voice." Hello? Arianna was good" Hopefully you got sumn to say cause ain't shit good on my end not at all

"Oh good, you answered! Luke, hey, I'm in Atlanta right now and I'm looking into all this...crazy. And I saw Tamara on the news, but she didn't pick up, so I was wondering if you know anything about what happened at the hospital?" she said quickly. Even when she was still in school, Ariana had always been a bit of a motormouth, but now she wanted information and she wanted it ASAP.

Luke chuckled a bit when Arianna said that, back when he was selling more heavilly he tended to be bad about picking up the phone from time to time depending on what he was doing and how high he was. "Oh your back in the A, you sure picked a bomb ass time." He said with sarcasm he started up his vehicle, and turned off the radio switching to the AUX he didn't want to hear any generic mumbling right now. "All this shit you want my advice..stay away..everything is going to shit out here in the city..as a friend I'm being forreal, yo ass is always curious and trying to investigate well you heard abour curiosity killing the cat right? Tamara...went on a fucking shooting spree, there's about 20-30 people dead according to the news, as for the hospital I happened to be in it when that shit happened I literally saw my life flash before my eyes, people died all around me..." Luke's voice tapered off..and he sighed. "Look point is I know Tamara, you know Tamara there's no way she'd go on a fucking killing spree, if anything she'd shoot me or Jace! I gotta figure out what happened, I don't believe it, it dosen't make sense Arianna." He knew he probably sounded crazy but after seeing people with powers, people controlling the weather, and giant bullets in the streets of Atlanta he was willing to bet this wasn't the most asinine thing to happen this past month.

Ariana scowled and her brows furrowed as she listened. "Hm." Luckily for Luke, he didn't sound completely crazy to the young woman--she had been following incidients just like this since the Storm. "I don't think you're crazy, Luke. I already know...things are going on, and that's why I wanted to talk to Tamara about what happened. What do you think happened exactly?"

Luke thought Arianna would hang up on him, honestly it felt good to talk to a friend who wasn't directly involved in all this insanity, now he was remembering picking on her about her career but a journalist was something the city needed right now."You know things ar egoing on or you saw them on the news Arianna big difference. And you think talking to her is gonna be easy, she just allegedy shot down 30 people and it's all over the internet, you know what's going on with her brother he's a wanted fugitive....for some prior crimes, and now he's connected to all these murders..and some maniac running around with super strength ripping cops in half like napkins it's a fucking mess..fuck. "Luke was upset even though him and Tamara weren't official he wanted to help her, he thought about calling Kieran but decided against it this wasn't the type of situation he felt his secretive friend could help him with. "I...well it's hard to explain..just...actually..where are you Arianna? Trying to link up?" Luke inquired he figured this called for a situation where he might need her specific talents.

"I'm at some shitty motel--I forget the name," she said as she shifted a bit where she sat. "And I know things are going on. I have--" She paused, glancing to her harddrive. That was also a lot to explain, so she just sighed. It was clear that he knew a lot that she didn't, especially since she hadn't been in Atlanta in months. "Let's meet up. You can explain it, I can help put it together."

"Shitty motel huh I told you to get ya money up Arianna" He joked remembering how he'd often tell her about how she might want to change her major or pick up another method to continue to stack money. "Alright perfect I'll be on the way over there..." He decided he'd meet up with her i'd give him some time to think about this whole situation and get Arianna's opinion on what to do.

It wasn't long before he'd gotten her location and was pulling up to the front of the hotel, or motel rather considering how shitty it was. He'd stopped by the gas station to grab some soda's for him and Arianna and texted her to say he was outside. "Come on Arianna." He wasn't the most patient person not now, and right now he was pressed for time.

After hanging up, Ariana had closed her laptop and shoved her dirty laundry under the bed. She threw on a hat to hide the mess that was her hair, and when her phone dinged, she peered out the window. Sure enough, there was Luke. She hopped on and over the bed to open the door to the old friend. "Luke, hey, c'mon in-- Or we could go somewhere else, I don't really care. This place is just trash," she rambled, glancing down and kicking a bra away from the door.

Luke saw the bra getting kicked away from the door and wasn't sure whether to be aroused or disgusted he decided he was both but more importantly focused on helping Tamara. "Umm...how about you just hop in my whip and we go somewhere else." He didn't want to be rude but there was no way he was stepping into that motel. At Least Arianna's still sexy as ever, only reason I'll ever let her slide being messy as fuck. "Yeah the "place" is trash let's dip." He said and reached over to open up the door, he just wanted to get out of there.

"Yeah, that's fair," Ariana agreed. "Two seconds." And with that, she stepped away from the door to grab her laptop and phone. Both were dropped into a bookbag, and she eyed the harddrive. She could leave it here, but she didn't trust security, but who knows what trouble she could run into out there. Sighing, she grabbed it and dropped it into the bag, too. "Okay, I'm all set," she said as she quickly walked back, ducking out of the motel and locking the door behind her. "Where we going?"

"Perfect" Luke was glad he didn't have to argue with her. He wasn't about to head in that motel. He was glad that she just came in the car. "Perfect" He waited for her to get in the car, and pulled off taking one of the blunts out of his game green packet, and sparking it up. "You still be smoking gas Arianna" He said as he drove for a couple minutes before he pulled into a secluded parking lot and turned off the car and rolled up the windows to hotbox. "Okay..so tell me this..what all info do you have about everything? What all do you think you know..cause I guarantee you don't know the half of it." He said as he took another big ass hit of the blunt and offered it to Arianna as he awaited her answer.

It had been a while since she smoked, but she was a bit of a yes woman. "Thanks," she said simply before taking the blunt. "I know," she began, pausing to take a hit-- and it had been a while. She nearly coughed the smoke back up, but managed to hand it back cooly. I know that there are people with superpowers popping up all over the world, and I can bet that's what's causing all the chaos here in Atlanta. I mean, it cannot be a coincidence that all this starts happening after that Storm." She wouldn't have been so open and straightfoward, but she sensed Luke wouldn't give her the time of day if she didn't offer something--he sounded wrapped up in it, anyway. "What's the half I don't know?" she asked.

Luke heard her thoughts about how she hadn't smoked in a while but simply oblidged. He felt a bit guilty he didn't like pressuring anyone to smoke but he didn't want to smoke alone either and at least he hadn't "Cocerced" her. He laughed when she coughed." Huh baby lungs still "He said accepting the blunt back and taking a few more hits. "Yeah your half right, the other half is...well..I'll be blunt..no pun intended cause I slick need your help..."He figured he had nothing to loose with this Arianna wasn't someone he was too worried about. "I'm one of these people who has something happen to me with the storm too...." He said using his power to motion the blunt from his hand over to Arianna's lips after his last hit, and then released his mental hold over the blunt. " That shit..happened pretty soon after the super storm..and I think..someone else with powers.....got to Tamara some how."

Ariana felt her cheeks warm when he laughed at her and she lightly shoved him, her lips pursing together in a pout. "Shut up," she grumbled, but was instantly listening again as he continued. Then her eyebrows raised and her eyes widened as he admitted to being one of the supers she's been investigating. She was ready to deny it, demand some proof, but he willingly showed off. The blunt was to her lips and she gasped, reaching up to hold it so it would drop after he released his hold over it. "Oh my God, that's incredible," she breathed. If it wasn't in her hand, she would've forgotten about the blunt, but she went ahead and sucked ddown a huge hit. "If you think that," she said, handing it over as she thought, "then I wanna help prove it. But, one, it.. could've been her, Luke. And two, proving it wasn't..." Her voice trailed off as her eyes flickered about, her mind searching for the right words. "Well, proving it is going to take evidence. Are you okay with that?"

Luke was getting use to just revealing his powers, they were becoming a natural part of him, so soon other people around him would know. He wondered what his mama and the rest of his family would think about his abilities. " Yeah it's pretty dope, but for all the shit it's gotten me into it's almost not worth it..." He sighed he remembered watching Justice League and X Men, how things always went bad for them. He accepted the blunt and took a hit." You wanna help but how I need your help you've got the ideas and I've got the powers..I was thinking about just going to the police station to get her..but there's a bunch of cops not to mention I'm in a police report..I got attacked by some empowered dude and lived to tell..the same man out there killing cops so I'm already...got too much expose..like when you say evidence what you mean? I can't just show up there and use my powers especially after what's been going on, sooner or later with how some of these dumb ass's are acting with their powers the Government is gonna come round us up on some x Men shit, and I'm trying to be able to lay low when that happens...so I dunno what to do but I can't let Tamara rot in prison fuck.."Luke poured out his feelings about everything that happened as he took two more hits from the blunt and passed it to Arianna.

"It's fucked," she muttered as she took the blunt. "We'll figure it out, don't worry. And I think we need to start by finding the person who actually did it. They want someone in bars for what happened--we can't just bust her out. But if we give them the person who did it--with proof--they have to let her go." She paused to take a hit, eyes flickering about as she thought. "I don't know how we're going to get that proof--or even who did it. What do you know? Who would've done that to Tamara and how?" As she spoke, she handed the blunt back to Luke in exchange for her laptop and shifted in the seat.

Luke hit the blunt a couple more times, then rolled down the window and tossed out the roach. He reached in his glove compartment and took out some blunt spray pressing it down and spraying a couple times. " Your not getting what I'm saying, it's definently Tamara who did it.. I mean I seen the news...I see all the video's circulating..well unless it's a shape shifter but.." Luke paused he was high he didn't even pause to think about the possibility of that till he said it, now with all these powers anything was possible. "Look so I can't just move things with my mind I can do this too, I can control people, mind control. If you don't believe me..I can make you do something..but point is if I can do it..what if someone else can do it or a different type of mind control, or a shape shifter or whateve power..I mean who knows what eveyone can do it's too many damn possibilities, but I know I need to go to the police station and read Tamara's mind....to see if I can find anything out problem is..I'm probably already on the cop's radar from getting beat up yesterday." He sighed at least he'd never got any heat from selling drugs, but now this situation was far worst.

Ariana had put her feet up on the dash as she clicked through her files, eyes squinting against the screen. Then she paused and looked over at Luke as he continued. "I believe you, Luke," she said. She had already seen some of what he could do and there were much wilder things going on. "Shape shifter, another mind controller-- either way, it wasn't really Tamara. I understand, okay?" She sat up straighter. "Usually someone in jail gets, like, a visitor, right? But I don't know if that's the case after a slaughter like that." She chewed on her lip, finger tapping against the keyboard. Then she sighed. "Ugh, this is difficult-- Okay. You were the one who got beat up, right? Just...and I'll go in with you...go in and say you want to give a statement or something, yeah? I can play decoy and you can get to Tamara. I'd be down to bust her out, but that would put her in more trouble, I think." She closed the laptop. "And I'll look for any other...similar happenings until then."

Luke was glad that Arianna wasn't super judgemental about his powers or everything that happened, he wondered if he'd end up in an article she was writing or something but he hoped not. "Thanks Arianna" He was glad to have someone especially someone without powers who understood where he was coming from. "Not in jail, there's no visitors..well I mean you can schedule a visit but she's not really in jail yet..she got booked, and they didn't give her a bond because mass murder..yeah..there gonna throw the book at her, her court date is probably gonna be in a few days, something that violent with that much video evidence.."Busting her out might be too much you know..and I'm not exactly Superman yeah I've got powers but..it's not just cops down there..it's FBI agents..I doubt I can take all of them own,,I've only fought one person with my powers..and I got the shit beat out of me..soo...still..I was thinking of using my mind control to get in there...the problem is all the camera's will see me going on, getting cops to agree to do things they'd never fucking do, and then me walking out with Tamara, that's gonna ring lots of bells too many, ." Luke sighed this was a real bad situation. "I can't think of anything else....we might have to just try your plan I can't let her get life in prison for this."

Ariana couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Luke, the problem wouldn't be getting you in and out. You could use your powers to make them wipe or hand over the fotage or whatever. I mean, the mind control is kinda fucked up, but we're pretty desperate, yeah? You could totally make a pit stop to the security room and get the cameras shut off." She nodded, in that moment wishing she had some cool powers. "The problem will start, though, when they realize she's gone and wanna come after her. But I'll work on that--on getting evidence to prove she's innocent. Whoever used her is still out there--we just gotta find 'em," she explained simply.

"Hmm your right" Luke admitted he hadn't thought about this he was actually glad he'd went and gotten Arianna now they just had to make this work. "I wasn't even thinking about all that shit..damn so that's all I gotta do but still getting Tamara out her life is gonna be fucking impossible, i'd be hard enough with me and I have powers, she's just Tamara." Luke sighed he just wanted to at least get to read her mind and figure out what happened then he'd have something to go on from there." Alright at least if I talk to her and get into her head I can see what happened, I've recently been learning how to peek into people's memories so like I can see stuff people have done..I can figure out what happened." Alright let's go." Luke decided to spray a couple more times, and put his last blunt which was still in a game green pocket in the glove compartment before he pulled out the parking lot and headed to the police station." Aye if everything goes well we can grab something to eat whatever you want on me." He said as they pulled into the parking lot and he rolled up the windows, and got out the car and sighed." Alright I'll follow your lead." I hope this works..I can't leave Tamara to rot.

Once they pulled up, Ariana hesitated. Now she regretted bringing the harddrive. She pursed her lips and pulled her bag up to shoulder it. She stepped out of the car and drew in a breath. "My lead, huh? Well, okay," she said, staring up at the police station. She never did trust her government--and maybe it tied into her interest in journalism--so now that she was actually confonting just the local police, it was a little scary. "In we go, then. You're gonna have to get them to tell us where the camera room is and where the fotage is stored so we can get that out of the way first." With that, she walked ahead.

Luke was glad he got to smoke earlier in the day before he got there, because if he'd smoked any sooner it would have been a bad idea to walk inside a police station. "Alright good idea..we don't need to get on camera damn this is fucked up." Luke followed her into the police station and saw police officers everywhere he could hear their thoughts about different cases and heard Arianna's own nervous thoughts and wished he could help her. Don't be nervous Arianna..be calm. Luke thought to himself and was surprised when he heard his own voice in his head and felt the familar tingle when he pushed a thought into someone's head. What the fuck did I just literally speak to her with my mind..and use mind control..I thought I had to speak outloud to do that.. Luke was confused about what he'd just done but then he had another idea it was gonna be hard to just speak out-loud abot going to the security room anyway. "Hey officer listen I really need your help." It's ya boy Luke was popping fam, you finna direct us to the security room and then not remember taking us up there....cause we is not the high people you looking for "Remember what we talked about?" Luke said after directing his mental command.

The officer raised an eyebrow and nodded. " Oh yes come this way, my apologies My boy Luke." He said luckily out of ear shot of other cops, and Luke had to surpress a giggle this new aspect of his power was going to make being high so much fun. "Alright come on Arianna." He said managing a low snicker as the officer lead them towards the security room.

Ariana blinked at him and her brows furrowed together--part of her wanted to snap at him for being in her head, but she did appreciate the gesture. Oh geeze, has he been reading my mind the whole time? she thought, pulling her hat down in embarressment. Though when Luke talked to the officer, she waited anxiously, tensing as she waited for the response aaaand-- She grinned from ear to ear and looked to Luke with a thumbs up. Already it was going well, and she stepped in line beside Luke as she looked around, eyeing the cameras that would have recorded them walking in already.

Not the whoooole time..honestly I was hoping you'd have some more PG-13 slash R rated thoughts but I guess I'll slide out your head since I just used some trigger words. Luke couldn't help but mess with his old friend this whole thing was funny getting high and mind controlling cops, except the situation wasn't that much of a joke since Tamara's life was st stake. It wasn't long before they got there, and the police officer let them in the door the three secuirty guards all got up but Luke put his power to the test again. " Sit down, I'm a friendly black criminal not here to kill you or take your white women..now then get rid of all the footage..for the past two hours, umm..turn the cameras off..and..just bullshit..I mean that's all you cops do anyway..also let me and her get some of those donuts over there.. oh also we're your bosses so WORK fools." Luke instructed the security guards as he went over to the table seeing two boxes of dunkin donuts they'd been eating and grabbed a maple glazed donut and bit into it.

"Mhmmm." "Okay I'm gonna go see what's poping in Tamara's head, stay here with the security guards text me if you see anything weird happen on the screens..enjoy the donuts..hopefully I can find out who did this to her." He finished his donut and wiped his hands and headed towards the door to step out." Thanks Arianna." He said he'd really needed her help, sure he had powers but he was running on pure emotion before he linked up with her and his plan would have been lessed organized then this."

Ariana sighed, making that pouty face at Luke again. Getting in her head, playing with the guards. Keep the mind contrl to a minimal, would ya? she thought at him as he bit into a donut. Still, the plan was working out so far and he was growing comfortable with his powers, so that was good. She didn't exactly want to stay with the guards, but he was right--he needed someone in here watching the cameras for him. "No problem, Luke. I wanna help," she explained simply with a shrug. And, as he left, she sat on the desk and looked between the guards. "You guys got any card games ooor..?"

About fifteen minutes later Luke shot Arianna a text. Hey I've managed to get to Tamara right now but this is crazy..she's all in tears and stuff but...her mind is blank like the past 3-4 hours is blank, like when I look into your head or anyone else's I've mind controlled their memories are still there..it's so weird like it was her but not her...or..someone else took her memories I mean it's looking like there's another telepath..just be careful we have no idea who it could be "Listen Tamara..I believe you.. I know you saying it wasn't you, you think I just believe the cops, I had to pull so much to get in here."

"Luke you ain't seen it! I've seen all the news, I killed those people, am...am I crazy..I'm fucking crazy...oh my god..some of those people were teenagers..what if I shot a kid, good lawwd what if I shot a kid!!" Tamara was about to burst into tears, Luke wanted to help her, tell her it was all people with powers, but even with the camera's off they were still in a police station, and things could get crazy pretty quickly. He wanted to find out more, but with her memories being blank there wasn't much he could do.

In the hallway near Arianna..suddenly the sound of gun shots was heard, and yelling. More gun shots were heard, and screaming, then some loud banging noises. The security guards all jumped up when suddenly the door was ripped off the hinges and Jace stepped in with his helmet on, and dresesd in all black bullet holes from head to toe. "I had to kill a lot of stupid ass mother fuckers to get here..." One of the security guards fired a bullet at Jace that hit his chest and crunched off, he grabbed the bullet and tossed it into the guard's eye, then grabbed the door and tossed it at the other two guards then turned to Arianna and stepped towards her then frowned." Arianna......? What the fuck are you doing here?!" He was about to smush her but he remembered hanging out with her at parties and such back when she use to be around Luke and Tamara. Fuck why is she here?!!!

Ariana had to pause the game of Uno to open Luke's text. She squinted at the screen, eyes narrowing in concern. She was hoping Tamara's mind could lead them right to their guy, but it looked like the work would be on her afterall. She adjusted her hat and was about to tap back a reply when she heard the first gunshot-- and then more. "Oh God," she gasped, looking around for a place to hide. But then in busted the perpetrator, helmet and all-- just like the guy from the news who kicked Luke's ass.

She screamed when he stepped at her, but suddenly stopped and blinked at the sound of her own name. He knew her. "Y-yeah-- I'm just," she stammered, looking for an answer. "I'm helping... a friend. What are are you doing here--why d-did you kill these people? Who are you?"

"Helping a friend, first off don't just bullshit me I follow you on snapchat, AND Facebook so I know you not a motherfucking cop." Just as he said this one of the security guards tried to get up, and Jace walked over to him lifting his head and slamming him into the ground to knock him out then picked up the damaged door and tossed it into the security camera's. "Fucking pigs." He spoke in disgust about the cops then lifted off his helmet seeing the camera's were messed up. "It's Jace, and calm ya ass down I ain't kill the security guards..I mean ...as far the other cops in the station I ain't intentionally kill em but if they was in me way then they got smashed or sprayed shit gang shit, now I'm gonna need you to tell me what the fuck your here and maybe since we all use to kick it and smoke gas back when you went to STate I won't fucking kill you, and by chance you wouldn't happen to know where my sister is..I'm here to pick her up." Jace spoke the last part calmy as if he was going to getting his sister from an after-care program or from work.

"Jace?! Oh my God--" she started, then stopped, realization setting it. He would've been the one who fought Luke and now he was killing cops and all for... "Oh noooo," she groaned, dropping her face into her hands and shaking her head. "Jace, I'm here to get your sister out," she explained, the dread lowering her voice. "This is bad. We were going to be in and out without a trace and it would've given us some time. But now you're here, wrecking the place--" She paused, her eyes narrowing as her mind raced. She looked between him and the broken camera screens. "We're getting your sister out--I know she's innocent. But you can help in another way?"

"Naw don't call me God, I'm alright with Daddy tho." He snickered he was just here to get his sister out, so far the whole turning his life to Jesus and not smoking wasn't doing him well since he was irritated, stressed, and Tamara got booked for 30 murder charges. "Your here to get Tamara out." Jace couldn't help but start laughing wondering how Arianna of all people was going to get his sister out of jail. "Jesus I'm in tears, first off...we cool but let's get sum straight you is not no good repoter, and you know that damn well..name one big story..you've done since you graduated....I'll cut it short not a single fucking one and you think your gonna get my sister out of this? Even OJ's lawyer prolly couldn't help her right now. Help in what way, the way I'm finna help is I'm gonna tear this place apart, I'm grabbing my sister and were getting the fuck out the country, I know damn well she ain't do this, I know who did! You prolly still on his dick too..but I ain't here to preach I'm getting Tam, then I'm killing Luke for mind fucking my sister, then I'm out if you can speed up the process do so, I'd really like to not have to hulk smash you so like my boy Captain Planet use to be saying back in the day the choice is yours so spit it out foo." He said getting irritated fast.

Ariana blinked and shrunk back as Jace went off--he was something else. "My thinkpiece on salad diversity went vi--" she tried to interupt, but Jace went on and she looked away, pouting. Though he did say something helpful, even if she was pretty afraid for Luke in that moment. "Wait, wait, Jace, who did it? You don't understand-- I'm not only trying to break her out. I want to prove she's innocent, too. But I gotta know who made her do it. Breaking her out like the hulk or whatever isn't going to help her, Jace, let me prove she's innocent." She was quick to switch her "we" to "I" because she had a feeling drawing attention to Luke in that moment was the last thing she needed to do.

"Man fuck yo salad, Arianna you don't get it this ain't bout no mother fucking meal, you know what I'm saying none of the shit you write, has writtten or iz going write is muthafucking important so I'm not leaving Tamara's life in ya hands jesus that's like retiring Stephen Curry, and letting some special ed kid hit the court instead, ther'es levels to this shit." He was frustrated he was getting tired of this feeling like Tamara's life was in the balance and he wasn't trying to deal with her fake reporter friend. "It's fucking Luke fuck you mean, you ain't going belive me not that I give a damn you see the shit I can do, Luke can do shit too but he fucks with your head, him and Tamara been beefing, he prolly fucked with her and made her do that shit fucked up her whole life..and you know damn well Luke hates Mcdonalds, so honestly it just makes mafucking sense trust me I ain't smoked no weed in 11 hours I've had plenty of time to think logically as fuck." He sighed he was getting irritated with wasting time. "Look tho you claiming you wanna help her, then why you in the security room, that means you was with someone else who else you pulled up to the station wit don't lie to me girl or I'll smack yo ass into the afterlife."

Oh, that was bad. And admittedly, Luke's mind control did make her wonder, but she knew better. He wouldn't be putting himself in the position he's in to break a girl out who had put in jail. But considering Jace's...logic, she wasn't sure she could convince him of that, so her mind raced to figure out a correct answer to his demand. "Jace, listen. It wasn't Luke--he wouldn't do that to Tamara, even with his freaky powers." She swallowed and licked her lips. She was hoping to buy Luke more time, but now she wasn't sure she could. "I'm here with a friend," she stated slowly, eyes wandering as she struggled. "And...I mean, if it is Luke, let me get the proof. The police won't let Tamara go if they don't have the guy who actually did it, right? Just--just leave Luke alone for now and I'll get proof that'll, like, actually put him behind bars."

Jace sighed he wasn't trying to hear this, he wanted to get his sister and get going but now he had to deal with Arianna. If it wasn't for Arianna being a friend of Tamara's he'd just snap her neck or kill her or just knock her out. "Hmm interesting so you know Luke has powers, you use to be Luke's friend and now your just conventinetly at the police station where I'm here to get my sister, and your defending Luke, all this shit A proves my point of you being a brainless dick rider who can't get no motherfucking job cause your a shit reporter, and two I feel like you fucking here with "my boy" Luke, so in short Bitch ya lying, I'm finna beat ya ass, then I'm gonna find my sister, and we're out, you ever pop percocet before? Cause you going need a whole bottle after I'm done rearraging ya limbs stupid ho." He was furious and wasn't ready to listen to Arianna as he took a step forward.

As he was about to get closer to Arianna he was suddenly launched through the roof by an invisible force as Luke rushed in. "Arianna!!!!!!" He rushed over to her and hugged her then looked around seeing the damage." Are you okay?! What the fuck did that crazy ass motherfucker do to you I heard his thoughts we gotta go..Tamara's got no memory but the last thing she remembers is talking to some crazy ass kid who lived with her neighors boss."

There was a loud crash in another part of the building and a wall was kicked open as Jace stepped in." Luke yo bitch ass motherfucker, you going blast me?! YOU GOING BLAST ME! YOU STUPID FUCK!!!!! I will kill you!!! Enough is Enough you stupid shit." Jace marched over to Luke and punched a hole in his chest, then pushed him forward turning to Arianna and laughing before grabbing her by her head and ripping it off laughing turning to Luke who was in tears, and got up to launch a teleknatic blast only for Jace to lunch forward kicking his foot through Luke's skull." STUPID BITCH!!! BURN IN HELL !!!!!!!!!!"

In reality...Luke was ushering Arianna out of the room as Jace was rummaging around through the hallways tearing apart the police station and he was breathing heavilly." Fuck...that was close..something about his power lets it interfere with my mind power..but I..fucked with his head he's practically finna bust a nut with excitement now that he thinks he killed us, we gotta go if he breaks Tamara out it's on him, but I damn sure don't want to tangle with Jace right now come on, it won't be long before there's hella cops here!" He said breathing heavilly as he'd managed to force an illusion into Jace's head the most streneous task he'd used his powers for yet.

"Oh my God, Luke, he thinks you're the one who did that to Tamara," she spilled as they left the station. Then she hesitated despite being high on the adrenaline and fear and just coming down from the weed. That did not go as planned at all, but they would at least be able to pin the break out on Jace after that. And now they were back at square one--almost. She wondered who the "crazy ass kid" was, but she figured she'd need to tend to Luke first, and getting the fuck outta there. "Do you need me to drive?" she said, putting a hand on his arm to help him to the car.

"Yeah I realized that, he's also fucked up in the head, something's wrong with him, like he's always been pissed and fighting but it's like his powers are fucking with his head somehow, like I don't know how to explain it but I when I read your mind I can sort of see not just what your thinking but how your thinknig when I read his mind he'll be rational...then..all of a sudden his thoughts are off the fritz...they get way more intense..or when he's killing people they just go down like he dosen't care..it's crazy.. "Luke sighed he didn't know how to really explain this as he handed Arianna the keys. Plus it wasn't like Jace was willing to sit down and let him examine his mind, but it was if the strength of his emotions and thoughts were going up and down either intentionally or beyond his control. "Yeah drive let's get out of here, fuck it took so much out of me to do that..it was like using a painting app but with my mind I literally had to make up a scenario, day dream it out while making Jace see the day dream..but it was easy cause I played into his savage ass imagination but come on let's go..I'm fucking starving.." He was glad he had some information both about what was wrong with his friend's head, and about what happened to tamara.

"I didn't even get a donut," Ariana realized sadly before getting into the car. She started the car as she listened to Luke, nodding. "Well you saved me, I think, whatever you did. I knew Jace was aggressive as a kid, but-- I think he was actually gonna kill me," she said, her tone still sad. She was distressed, admittedly, with the chaos going on and it being caused by people like Jace. She wished it was more like the movies, where the supers used their powers to wear stupid costumes and save the day. "Oh well," she sighed, putting the car in drive. "Let's get some food and figure this out."

Luke couldn't help but laugh as she mentioned the donut, probably the only thing funny about that. "Yeah well I only got one, and between Tamara's crying and Jace's rage my high was blown too." He sighed he felt bad that Tamara of all people got put in this position, she'd nearly gotten killed yesterday, a car accident, then been powered into killing people, and now her super psycho brother was busting her out of jail. " I mean I really wanna say Jace wouldn't do that I mean yall use to be cool..but ya know without my powers Jace would have killed me yesterday. "Luke was saddened by the fact that his friend of 3 years had gone so crazy. "Alright what do you want to eat?" He said as he went into the glove compartment to retrieve one of the numerous marijuana soda's he kept stashed away for when he was stressed, and popped open the cap for the "Sour Diesel Soda" and chugged some down, before using his power to move one of them over to Arianna's side." Drink up if you want, it'll make this shit easier to deal with" He thought as he sat back in his seat.

"Not McDonald's," Ariana said simply and shook her head at the offer. "Thanks, but I need to think and put all this together..." It was lucky that Luke was able to get something out of Tamara, and it point them in the direction of a potential suspect. They were one step closer to clearng her name--and it'd be much easier if Jace had stayed out of it. "You know. Jace was fucking crazy, but he had the same goal as us. Maybe he'll come around or something," she suggested hopefully. Even she had changed her goal a bit: she came to Atlanta looking for a big story, but here she was, driving away after nearling helping someone bust out of prison. Despite the chaos, it brought a small, sad smile to her face as she pulled up to a steak house. "On you, right?" she reminded him with a shit-eating grin.

"Right right..okay..a meal like this you should be putting out afterwards." Luke teased as they got out the car, his breathing was back to normal and honestly he was in the mood for something good. He always had expensive taste so it didn't really bother him like she said he certainly wasn't eating Mcdonalds, especially since two of them had been eradicated in the past three days. He walked over to a trash can and dropped the empty marijuana soda bottle in the can. "Jace is fucking crazy..but yeah he definently still loves his sister..so at least he's not a complete monster..I guess..he still needs someone to beat the shit out of him and beat some sense into him."He promptly decided still not over the fact that Jace beat his ass, and also the fact that he was happy killing him and Arianna in the illusion he'd sent into his head.

He opened the door for her, and within minutes a waitress lead them to a booth and left them with menu's. "Hmm" He thought wondering what to order as the marijuana edible started to kick in. "Question Arianna..what all did you come to Atlanta for I mean yeah you came for a story, but what did you wanna find, what did you or should I say do you want to do?" He decided since the situation with Tamara was somewhat resolved they could talk about other things for now.

Ariana blinked at his question, looking up from the menu. "Oh," she said, looking around. "I...pretty much already have a story," she admitted, shrugging her book bag off to rest it next to her. "I came here to find proof, though, and as much evidence as I can. People with powers have been supposedly been popping up every since the Storm, ya know? If I can prove it, I'll hit it big! She paused, wondering how that may have sounded to Luke--he was a perfect subject if she wanted to ask someone to demonstrate, but, "I wasn't sure how I'd go about it, but now that we're tracking down who ever fucked with Tamara's mind...I think I'm onto something." She wouldn't mind exposing a criminal.

"That's what I Was worried about you have a story about me..Tamara, and Jace...what's gonna happen if you make a story about us? I'm pretty sure I'll loose my job the next day and now I'm not talking about selling, plus I'm sure some men in suits that are part of some American three letter agency will drop by to take me away." He stopped as the waitress came by to bring the drinks, and Luke took a sip of his lemonade. "I'm just saying just think before you start rushing into making a story, after what happened at the hospital I'm pretty sure most of the coutnry has an inkling that this powers shit isn't bullshit, I know lots of people in Atlanta are convinced I can hear it in their thoughts. Just wanna let you know you could potentially ruin people's lives, end people's careers, get people's parents locked up or their children taken away, destroy everything so many people have worked for over something that happened to them that they couldn't control.." Luke could definently feel the marijuana soda hitting him but he was sure he'd feel this way without all the THC coursing through him.

Ariana frowned a bit as he spoke. Admittedly, she hadn't considered all of that. Of course she suspected people wouldn't want others to know about their powers, but the prospect of ruining other people's lives... She didn't want to do that. "Luke, you're right, but..." Her voice trailed off and she sighed. "If they're not exposed, there's nothing else to explain why Tamara shot up a McDonald's. There's no serious research being done to reverse it--to maybe help Jace--" She stopped and chewed on her lip, eyes flickering about the menu as she looked for words. "I think it'll be good for people to know. It'll protect innocent people. The truth needs to be out there." She nodded, feeling less comfortable but still confident in her goal. She flinched when the waitress was suddenly standing there and she laughed nervously. "Hey, yeah, I'll take the ribs--the full slab, yes," she started.

"Dam you finna eat all that whew...Jesus, I'll just get the 8 ounce sirloin with a side of steamed broccoli's, and some fries, oh and uhh another lemonade too." Luke definently had a love for lemonade. "He just shook his head as their orders were taken down and laughed. "I see both sides of the coin, I'm just letting you know, your gonna ruin lots of people's lives, and I'd personally like to quit my job, I dunno if you noticed but I don't sell drugs anymore, I still smoke them, but I'm trying to live a different life now I've gotten plenty of money from doing what I did, now I just wanna enjoy life and live. "But alas your right the truth to an extrent has to be out there..cause if everything';s in the dark noting like what happened to Tamara can come to light." He sighed they both had points.

Ariana sipped at her soda and nodded in agreement. No matter what they chose to do, it would not be a black and white choice: there was too much uncertainty and grey area between the Empowered and the storm. So all she could do was follow her heart. It was something out of a classic story with the journalists fighting for the hard proof. She sighed happily--despite it all, she was feeling pretty cool. "Yeah... Well. What are you thinking you'll do then? What are you in school for again?" she asked curiously.

Luke was just happy to be relaxing and enjoying life for once in the past few weeks, well he'd have plenty of fun so far but now he just needed to chill, he was just so worried about Tamara. "I'll just work on openig up my own business, I mean me and Tamara....had always talked about going to law school, a law business would be dope, but I've been interested in entertainment bsiness as well, but I'm in school for communication."

The rest of the lunch date went rather smooth with Luke and Arianna, and overall he was glad to have one of his former friends back in his life who understood his powers. Later that day he'd heard the news that Tamara had been sprung from jail or rather kidnapped, although some sources didn't believe it. It was a whole mess that Tamara, Jace, and Devon had gotten into the past year, the Williams Family was messed up and Luke just wanted to help them.

"Your parents are dead."

Lucy had dropped the phone that morning upon hearing those words. She had been sitting on Luke's couch, wondering where he had gone off to. It took a moment for them to register before she picked the phone back up with a shaking hand.

"If you don't start working for me, then Uncle Frank's next. I'll kill them all without no issue, princess and then finally I'll kill you."

"Who... Who is this?"Lucy asked in disbelief. No way were they dead. However, as Lucy went through her phone, she found she was getting numerous text messages from family and friends back at home about her parents being murdered. Her eyes watered and she covered her mouth in shock. She had no idea what she had gotten into until this moment. This wasn't a game.

"We'll meet soon."The voice simply replied and hung up.

Lucy gathered her things and motioned over the dog as she left the apartment. She called a cab, realizing she needed to probably stay as low as possible from now on to avoid confrontation with this man. Once the cab arrived, she smashed her phone on the ground, breaking it. Then she got inside the car.

Hector Ramirez – Atlanta, Georgia – Visions of Death

"Aaah no!!!! PLease please" A woman was screaming in pain she'd already been stabbed and was backing up from her attacker. Her attacker was a vague female figure with shades on, a blade in hand, and a grin on her face. "You think I wanted this, now I wanted you to suffer but you went ahead and made this happen, you sped up the process you dumb bitch, and now I've got it. At first I just wanted to have fun, but there's bigger things going on here, bigger fish to fry, and way more fun for me to have. You and the other bitch where just the beginning, I've got other targets, but I'm going to have to be different with how I go about them what happened at the hospital, what that maniac is doing to the cops although I can't say I don't enjoy it, and who else knows what else, The Feds are gonna step in, there gonna round us up, and then I just have to be in the right position to have fun."

The bleeding woman looked up at her attacker and groaned." You’re a fucking sociopath, you think your entitled to what you wanted, there's a reason you didn't get it you fucking crazy fucker, because they could sense what you really were, I thought you were just weird bur your worst. You’re the reason I wanted to be what I wanted to be to stop people like you, fuck you, you evil fucking bastard."

The man moved forward the girl was screaming the scenery changed to none other then Jace with his hands full of blood, bullet holes on his clothes, and laughing around several dead police officers, then finally an entire police station was seen destroyed, and suddenly the vision ended.

"FUCK!!!!" Hector jumped out of bed in a cold sweat, reaching for a beer bottle of rolling rock he had on his night stand and popped it open starting to chug some to calm himself down. He'd been plagued by bits and pieces of this vision for the past hour, and it seemed the probation officer he'd saved was now coming to his rescue trying to counsel him from his nightmarish visions.

"Hector Hector!" Andrea was also laying in bed, but it seemed they hadn't been engaged in a tryst of sorts as she still had on her pajama's and reached for Hector wiping sweat off his brow." Fuck you scared me, you need to sleep, you need to."

"No I can't not today, I told you what happened, you know what happened to my daughters, this is fucking a punishment, if I ignore this what else could happen? I almost ignored what I saw of you and imagine where you'd be dead, in a fucking coffin, this happened for a reason you don't have to come, but I have to expose this Jace guy, today is gonna be the worst so many people are going to die, I have to stop him with or without you, everything I see I can affect, I can change, even this bastard." Hector downed the rest of his beer and tossed it into the trash can.

Andrea seemed conflicted she really wanted to help Hector, she owed him everything her life. Hell because of him she was still out of the public way, while some people saw a worthless alcoholic former cop and war veteran with a record ruined by multiple DUI's she had seen that there was someone behind that. She had to admit it was an eye opener as a probation officer she'd been pretty cruel, taking out her frustrations from her marriage on her probationee's and feeling like they were all criminals having never been on the wrong side of the law herself. But now she could see how she was wrong to pre-emptively judge everyone who came in-front of the judge, some of them had stories, reasoning's behind their tragedy, a reason for their pain, and a hope to change. Deep down she felt partially responsible for at least some of Jace's behavior, although he was defininently a violent individual. She'd been over the top in her punishments with him, but still he was beyond forgiveness now she simply hoped to apply this manner of thinking to the future if she chose to pursue this career further but right now she realized she had a duty not only to help Hector because of what he'd done but to help the police deal with Jace because she knew not only what he'd done but what he was capable of doing.

"Fine Hector..I'll come forward.. He has to be stopped." She was terrified of coming into contact with the brutal bullet proof criminal again, but Hector was right. If it wans't for her visions she'd have died in a coffin surrounded by excrement and insects, a night marish incident in of itself. "We'll go later today we can head to the station I have friends there they all think I'm dead, they know this super thug killed my husband, it's time we put a name and face, and let the police get a handle on what to do to stop him."

"Thanks Andrea, this means a-lot, this visions there a chance not just for me to help other people, but to help myself maybe one day..if I do enough I can forgive myself, I can feel like I've earned the right to accept that ultimately what happened to my daughters wasn't me..even if I was a part of it." He sighed and layed back in bed..the beer having not only rested him but kept the more detrimental effects of his alcohoslism at bay as he decided to sink back into a slumber ready to forge ahead and push through any more precognitive visions that might assault him and disturb his sleep as long as they gave him information to stop Jace, and save that woman's life it didn't matter he had to do this.

…............................................
"This is fucking crazy, like Jace you'veb literally LOST your fucking mind, and your telling me Luke is the fucking crazy one, like I mean I just." Tamara was just rambling on and on. Ever since Jace had kicked down a wall, took a bullet to the face, knocked out a security guard, and helped her escape the precint she didn't know what to think.

But she wasn't dumb enough to deny the existence of what was happening to her especially with her own brother utilizing superhuman abilities, and what happened at the hospital, but she was infuriated regardless that Jace had attacked Luke over a dispute involving them. "But I don't care if Luke is Professor X, a Jedi or whatever, he didn't do this to me, I'm telling you!!!"

"Okay your convinced Luke ain't did it, I'm telling you he's not a problem anymore so let's see if any more freaky psycho shit happens okay. We need to get out of here, I bought up some property in Florida where we can lay low, sooner or later people are gonna start looking for me, for you, hell for everyone with powers so we need to get moving."

Jace had come back to the apartment, and grabbed a few more things, he was actually beginning to get glad for this temporary period of sobriety it was allowing him a sense of clarity he hadn't had over the past few weeks since he'd been on a rush from the powers he'd been given. Tamara was trying to be the voice of reason but he just wasn't trying to hear it.

"Look Jace, bullets bounce of you, they don't bouce of me? Your gonna be with me 24/7, hell even if you are which you know damn well you don't want to be, your gonna be able to make sure none of the bullets hit me, I have a better chance LIVING if I turn myself in."

"You really think that, you see what they did to Devon and me over some fucking weed?! You caught 30 bodies, I know you ain't fucking do it I know you, even if I didn't knnow Luke, I'd know it wasn't you. You claim ya mind went blank, and Luke can fuck with your mind, can't you fucking put two and two together. You know what even if you wanna say its not Luke then that's worst, who's got it out for you that bad, last thing you recall is smoking with Luke then you left your apartment then bam your driving drunk and shooting people, I'm sorry but it all points to him, what are the likley hoods of two fucking people with the same power..being at the same place..at the same time come on?"

Tamara paused to bite her lip although Jace was always in a rage this time he had a point. She still refused to believe Luke would do that, he knew he was a drug dealer, and engaged in some other shady financial dealings to obtain money but he wasn't the the type of person to do this. Although she'd never questioned it she didn't know if Luke had spilled blood before but he didn't seem trigger happy, he was never trying to just go out and kill people, no that was her own brother apparently. "Look I have no idea, but I'm just saying just think about it please! There's bound to be more people with powers, maybe it wasn't the same as his power, maybe it was something else, but the fact that someone did this to us is bad! Look at what's become of our family in your attempt to get revenge you've got half of Atlanta looking for you, and sooner or later once they realize your powers your fucked, maybe bullets, and blades can't hurt you, but Uncle Sam will find something that does!"

Jace sighed thinking back to the situation with Cori when those agents had used poision on him and had a brief moment of fear, he'd literally seen his life ending all because of over-confidence so he didn't dismiss Tamara's worries. "Yeah you right that's why I'm done fighting, I was trying to live right, get Jesus In me, but it ain't working, I just need my family, we need to go please Tamara, if it's not Luke, and there's someone out there with that kind of power after you, then what makes jail any safer?! I'm telling you I fucked up, I don't get it one minute I'm strong, then I can't think straight, I dunno if it's my powers messing with my head, or just everything getting to me, but you know I love you sis, I love you, we already lost Devon to the system, if I was confident enough I'd bust into prison, take out all the guards, all the cops and walk him out myself, but I doubt even I can do that, so I'm not gonna let them just lock you away forever or let some super powered motherfucker hack your body again what if this time they make you kill ya self, feel me please." Jace was practically pleading with his sister at that point.

"Jace I.."She could tell her brother was concerned and really cared then she stopped to think. He had a point if someone could really hijack her mind and it wasn't Luke they were dangerous, of course she figured Luke might be one of the only people who could. "Then fine let's go, just stop the killing please, we ain't gonna live like this, I rather get taken away."

"Fine fine, I'm ready to go anyway, lemme just grab the rest of my food." He went over to the microwave to take out the rest of his chinese take-out when he heard a knock out the door, then some more aggressive knocks. He motioned for Tamara to run into the closet where he'd stored his gun, and he grabbed one of his own guns and waltzed towards the door slowly to listen in. " Final warning open the fucking door."

"Who the .." Just then the door was kicked down and Jace instinctively leapt to the ground as he heard something tumbling on the groudn then a massive bang. He closed his eyes as the flash grenade rocked his body even if it didn't cause him any pain, he heard foot steps tumbling on the ground and looked up to see armed SWAT men bursting in firing at him with tasers.

"NO!!!!" Jace screamed and ran up pushing two of the swat agents sending them flying across the room and against the walls with force, he snatched up a gun from one of the discarded soldiers and opened fire, causing some of the SWAT To duck down and open fire on him with their bullets of course having no effect." God damn it God damn it, I can't catch a fucking break." Jace opened fire on the SWAT agents gunning them down relentlessly and discarded the gun heading into the hallway to see three more agents coming in guns blazing opening fire on him. "FUCK!!!!!" Jace charged towards one of the agent full of rage surprising the agent as the bullets had no effect on him. He didn't know if they were here for him, or Tamara his main concern was how the hell they found him, and whoever made this possible well..there'd be hell to pay.
…..................................
"You really expect us to believe this nonsense, Mendez it's clear you've been through a lot with your husband, and all that but this is crazy."

Andrea had accompanied Hector to the police station where her friends use to work out and was trying to get in contact with Emma Hazel, a long time friend of hers who worked in the police force, but the chief wasn't trying to hear it.

"Giant bullets came and hit buildings in a hospital, there's a man running around with super strength tearing up the APD and I'm telling you that man is fucking Jace Williams. I watched him do what he did to my husband with his bare hands, he's responsible for everything else involving the super thug, damn it! The only reason you guys aren't pursueing this is because of the super powered angle, you can't be stiff enough to not think powers are real after all this can you? Jesus Christ?!"

"Right well a report came in this morning, a former associate of Mr. Williams who claims she use to be sleeping with him, came in this morning, and confirmed his location for the reward money, we sent in the SWAT to neutralize him, so that should disprove any beliefs that he's anything more then a regular man."

"You can't be serious, are you really serious?!! I swear, he did this to me, he buried me alive, that man outside if it wasn't for him I'd be dead!!?!!"

"Then answer me this Andrea, you say this man ripped off your fingers, and did all this to you, then this guy Ramirez one of the worst alcoholics I've ever met and I've met plenty in the force just happens to stumble upon a graveyard, dig you out and then you start staying at his house the past few days? What it sounds like is you got assaulted, you went into shock, and you've been drinking a-lot and you've found someone else with as much tragedy in their life as you, all I can recommend is you let us handle it, I'm glad your alive Mendez your one of the best PO's downtown but I don't think Jace is superhuman, you've been through a lot, and this guy Ramirez your lucky I even let him in the office after the disgrace he was to the police force. Now get out, I don't want you spreading this nonsense any further in my station or I'll have someone remove you and you won't like my methods trust me I'm coming to you as a friend Andrea."

"Chief..."Andrea's voice trailed off but she was furious, she had an idea to just try to get on the news some how and tell people but she doubted she'd do any better. She stormed out and Hector saw the look of disapointment on her face, and sighed. He was ready to get out as plenty officers who he use to work with where giving him dirty looks about him being back there. Not only that he was itching for a smoke, after a few minutes of navigating through the station they were outside and Hector was sparking up a newport inhaling the poision.

"So I take it, it went about as well as expected, fuck it that girl is still gonna die, I know what the news says, but something dosen't add up, we gotta do something."

"Maybe it's a sign, saving a killer from another killer, does it really make sense, I mean fuck I'm almost drunk and it's just now afternoon, what the fuck is going on."

"Hey come on now afternoons are the perfect time to settle into a nice drunk, mornings are starting the buzz of heavy, and of course a shower beer...but yeah it looks like if we want to stop this motherfucker we're on our own, and I've been trying to go That's so Raven all morning but it's not working."

"Yeah you think all the Jameson we've been drinking might be a reason your powers aren't fully A1, I mean shit I don't know anything about super powers outside of watching the X Men movies but being drunk fucks up a-lot of stuff, so fuck I just need a smoke."

"Gladly" Hector offered her a new-port putting it between her lips and lighting it then shrugged his shoulders. "If being drunk fucks up powers, then I guess I'm one of the worsts people to have given powers with, because between visions of death and suffering and maitaining a constant buzz well I know which one I'd rather pick.." He said with some disdan for himself and his choices, alcoholism had been apart of his life for a while, these powers were three weeks old, and he didn't like the idea of checking into outpatient rehab while being assaulted by visions of death that he couldn't do anything about at least out here even if he was inebriated most of the time he had a chance of doing something.

"Yeah..maybe Chief was right about that, I can't stick around you all the time or I'll always be drunk, cause I can think of a million reasons why I'd rather be saued right now." SHe said sadly as she continued to smoke her ciggarett wishing they could do something or that the police at least took her infromation somewhat seriously about Jace's super powered rampage and what he did to her.

"Andrea! Your alive! I heard everything the Chief is crazy! Listen we need to talk." Emma came rushing out of the station ready to talk to Andrea and Hector as they smoked. Hector sighed but felt alright she was one of the few cops who came to him in his time of need, talking to him about AA classes, offering him to come to church with her, overall one of the few good cops if there were any and Andrea was happy to have both support and to see her friend again perhaps this trip to the police station wouldn't turn out to be a complete waste of time.
….............................
"That's not possible." Tamara said as she sat in the passenger seat of Jace's charger as they'd made his way from the apartment, he'd made sure to not use his powers to kill any agents although they'd seen bullets bounce of him, most of them were in the hospital, and it was time for him to make his eacpe to Florida anymore with Tamara, that was until they heard the news. Tamara was in so much disbelief she went on google to see it and there mass protests.

"It's here Jace! Tamara Williams who has been kidnapped by superhuman murderer has been granted bond of 30,000 thousand dollars which was paid by an anonymous person who claims he believes in her innocence, that's gotta be Luke it's gotta be!"

"So now you wanna admit he's using his mind shit huh, even if it is maybe it's just a play. Think about it, we just found out some bitch snitched on me, got the cops sent to my crib, and right after I whoop they ass they talking about a random motherfucker paid your bond, if Luke's got the mind mojo why he ain't do it himself."

"Maybe he's trying to stay lowkey, point is Jace drop me off! I don't have to do this, I can do more to help you like this, plus I can go to trial, your strong, but Luke he's different he actually thinks things through, he's not pissed 24/7, and with his mind powers who knows maybe he can.

"Maybe he can what are you fucking stupid?! Listen how do you know Luke ain't playing this whole scenario still I

"Stop the fucking caR!!!" Tamara demanded and Jace skidded to a halt going to park and sighing his sistet couldn't be convinced." I know Luke okay Jace! I don't know what's gotten into you, but you and him go way back, hell our brothers go way back, he wouldn't do this to us, if anything maybe your right, it's good you taking a break from smoking cause your powers might be fucking with your head, and Luke is prolly the one person who can help you but you don't want to fucking listen. The Feds coming after you, and Luke and people like you, then I wanna be a regular citizen doing my best to help yall! Please, now I'm going to find Lukey, you I suggest you keep on and get the fuck out of here, I see your strong bro..but you gotta be careful bruh..shit's gonna get real..you caught bodies..real bodies..and regarldess of the fact that some ofthem people are fucked up like Andrea, and Lauren that's not how the world at large will look at it." She got out the car and slammed the door before Jace rolled the windows and tossed her some cash.

"Look sis you don't need to be going around with no cash, cause right now ain't no one gonna hire you, just promise you'll stay lowkey, just promise."

"Yeah bro you need to follow your own fucking advivce jeez! Your whooping 12's ass left and right and you thinkt his not gonna bite you in the ass, man Devon got time for trapping, they going fuck around and stick you with life once they find a way to put you down and a cage to stick you in if not kill you, I love you but you need to chill, something is dead ass wrong with you to just be tearing people apart like this..just get help..I'll see if Luke can do anything please just make peace bro it's not worth all this it's not it's not!

"Fine call yo self uber, and go striaght home, please call me when you get to Luke's otherwise I'm bringing my ass right back down here and I'm fucking hi up, I'm fucking all yall up, I swear I want to move on from this shit but its gotta be this way, now I gotta bounce be safe sis, I'll figure some out, you know I will I gots to, shit going change I swear."

"Yeah you want change, then find that Harley Quinn bitch who killed the mayor's daughter and all them students like she's inspired because of you! She your own little evil psycho bitch, a match made in hell, you ask me you wanna kill people kill her now thanks for the cash but get outta here." Tamara said before walking away.

Jace looked at his sister with worry he still felt she was walking into a trap of sorts but she was grown woman, and as long as the police were coming after she she'd be in danger. He didn't want to confess to her that he'd put his foot through Luke literally, he literally couldn't confess the murder of his friend to her. The guilt was eating up, yet the day before he was filled with rage and joy to mess him up and that Ariana chick, he wondered if Tamara would ever speak to him after all of that was found out. He decided as long as she was alive it didn't matter if they were cool, and he started up his car and pulled off to make his way to his new home in Florida.

Harry already knew he'd come to the right door. He'd reviewd his profile on Sera, and everything he knew about her. Ex CIA, her stint in russian incerceration, and her desire to move away from the business. Yet his eyes and ears in The Coalition told him about her return to CIA employment, but he knew her personality profile, her history, and he was certain he could persuade her to attend the mission he had in store for her. "Listen my name is Harry, I'm with a group of people similar to your employers, and I'd like to both talk to you about a job opportunity as well as discuss some information I think you'll find pertitent to your further employment at the CIA? If you will allow me to step in I can go over and show you some of this information." He had some files in his hand but then decided to add." I've got two guns on me, I don't mind letting you search and disarm me if that'll prove to you I'm not a hostile.

Seraphina eyed Harry with suspcision as he spoke to her, though she just wanted to leave the whole spy business behind her she was slightly curious about the offer. "Alright step inside." She said once he was inside she quickly went to disarm him setting his guns on the table next to them. Once she was satisfied she motioned him to sit down on the couch that was in the living room. Sera walked over and sat down on the couch across from him she then turned off the TV. "What did you have in mind?"

Harry noted that he was at Sera's mercy if anything went wrong, after all the Coalition was aware of this mission but they A could not intervene in time if she decided to kill him and B they didn't approve of his mission so it wasn't heavilly supported. "Well I know you intend to work for the CIA again, I'm high ranking in the government, but not an agency you've ever heard of, one most of the world hasn't ever heard of trust me on that. But I believe I can appeal to your interests, I work for a diverse group of individuals compromised of members of many current and former intelligence communities across the globe, a collaboration on the likes of which hasn't existed before. Tell me this Sera, what kind of situation do you think could causen people from every branch of the intelligence community from America to China to France to work together? Hmm" Harry set his folders down on the table next to him on the couch as he awaited her answer.

Sera leaned back in her seat as she listened to him explain about the Coalition which she has never heard of before, but then again she was used to hearing to secrets as she leaned forwards slightly. "I actually wanted to be left alone, from the CIA but i'm assuming you already knew that by now. And I simply needed the money and they would let me go after I finished this assignment they gave me." She said and then thought for a moment when he brought up other spy agencies around the world, the only thing that she could think of was something bigger. "I dont know maybe something that could threaten other governments?"

"Right well I have some further information to give you I know they offered you a million dollars for this assignment, I can go beyond that, we can direct deposit you 1.5 million dollars the minute you agree to work for us if you do agree to work with us, and guarantee you another 2 million dollars upon the completion of this mission if you choose to continuet this mission" Harry said. He reached in his pocket, and took out a wad of cash all blue 100's, that totaled about $3,000 and tossed it to her." That's some pocket change, just a taste of how much we can offer financially. But I'm not here just to appear to you about money, I'm here to appeal to you about morals. Tell me this, what do you think of these Empowered indivdiuals? I'll tell you something I know, their human beings who've been geneitcally altered and granted abilities based off their most innate personality traits and their greatest desires, many of them are good people, of course those who aren't and received powers need to be detained if not killed. Listen to this however." Harry paused to talk

However the CIA has something planned, something cruel, there going to round up all the superhumans across the country, good or bad, it dosen't matter if there discovered to have a power there going to be removed, many of them will be killed, all of them will be locked up, this is going to be the CIA's biggest invasion of privacy, and the worst part is the President himself has signed off on this mission even though the Supreme Court and Congress agree it's unconstituational, and I need someone on the inside to help me put a stop to this, to save the lives of thousands if not millions of American citizens who not only don't deserve to die but have powers that can benefit society as a whole." Harry looked into her eyes." And you happen to be one person that qualifies for an assignment like this that can change the entire country, the world, and protect your fellow citizens from a policy fueled by fear of the unknown."

She listened more on the offer she lit up slightly at the amount of money he was offering her just to go behind the CIA's back, she caught the wad of money that Harry had handed her and started to count it herself while listening in on Harry when he started to talk about the powered individuals and then brought up what the CIA and the president were going to do. She happened to be one of them as she thought about revealing her ability to him, something told her to not show it but she eventually decided to go through with it. "I happen to have an advantage for you." Seraphina said as she closed her eyes for a moment to Harry she disapeared from where she was sitting.
Sera then quickly snatched up the files that he had next to him which they disapeared as well, then she reapeared back to where she was sitting and started to open one of them in her hands turning her attention to Harry.

Harry wanted to have her sold on the assignment, he was banking a huge part of that on the money involved, as well as how the CIa had gotten her locked up and the research he'd done on her morals. The fact that she herself had powers blew him out of the water, this was increadible, and completly unplanned. This was the catch of all catch's, to sum it up his superiors would be worshipping the ground he walked on. An invisible empowered CIA informant recruit ."W-wait.." Harry said suddenly seeing her go through the files they were information about the CIA's operation and such, but he stopped himeslf there was no mention of the other alien tech, or the alien involvement itself in the files so he calmed down." Nevermind, holy shit I didn't expect you to have powers, but I guess this is more then money or morals for you then it's survival? He questioned eying the invisible CIA operative. "If you'd like go through the files, there copies, I work for the Coalition, you can find information on us in the files, I'd love to have you on board, things are about to get real bad for the Empowered, and you can be at the forefront of making sure many of them live."

Sera looked at Harry and smirked slightly at his reaction, it was a good thing that she took his weapon as well in case he was a little trigger happy. "Pretty much yes its more of a survival instinct then anything." She said as she skimmed through the files, she didnt like the CIA at all and she wanted to return the favor. "So long as you dont sell me out, i'm on board then." She said. "Where do you want me to start you got like a secret base or something?"

"I see I guess I can't blame you I don't happen to have an abilit myself, I find them quite interesting, but then again I'm a very tradiational person I doubt any power would suit me." Harry said matter of factly, being the typical stick in the mud he was. "I have no benefit for selling you out, in -fact as you'll read in the files we hope to reach out to citizens with powers, we're building a team or rather team dosen't describe it well enough, an army that can put together their powers to change the world, I'm not talking about fighting crime, although I'm sure some of these powesr could help law enforcement, I'm talking about things that can really make an impact on the world, pollution, the energy crisis, disease, overpopulation, climate change, honestly even things like terrorism and such these powers can be the revolution the world needs to be better." He laughed at her last comment." We have a couple HQ's across the country, across the world really." He reached in his wallet and took out a card. "it's an ID card, put your finger on it, it'll register your DNA, your image will appear, you can use it to communicate with me or any Coalition agent, as well as call for back up by contacting head quarters, you can use it to activate or deactivate wifi in an area up to an entire city, locate vehicles, and even listen into phone conversations and hack into laptops. It's not a technology that's from this earth, just think about that I really can't tell you more you don't have the clearance, but I'm sure you'll come to find out that alot of things going on including how these powers came to be well there origins are not from earth." He stood up and looked at Sera." Anyway welcome aboard, hopefully we can do great things together Sera." He held out his hand for her to shake.

Seraphina looked towards Harry as he dug into his wallet and handed her a card as she gently took it from his hand she looked down on it seeing a picture of her face appear on it, was pretty interesting as she looked up at the man that she will be working with. The card seemed very useful and interesting as she slipped it into her own wallet. She then would smile and shake the man's hand. "Good to be on board then."

The Heist

(Hey everyone, sorry for doing this by myself. The first like two paragraphs is two other people, but we needed to move it along. If the people originally involved wanted to add anything please pm me the parts they wish added and i will add it. If something needs to be changed please tell me. I dont want to make anyone mad but this was holding people up. SO finally the heist is over lol. Unless u want to add something.)

Sunday Afternoon

So this was it Alan thought. It came to him as both the expression of the penultimate moment before everything was to get underway and as an unspoken snide remark at how outwardly plain the facility was. Just a warehouse on the edge of town. Sure the files he had been provided and the limited reconnaissance he had been able to do ahead of time had both confirmed in advance that it would be unassuming, but it still took away from the grandeur of robbing the CIA that the master thief had been hoping for.

Alan started to go through a checklist, calling all his men in turn to make sure everyone was ready. Admittedly most of them were there as backup in case things got really bad or to cut off the escape of any pursuit. Assuming there was one. Some of them were there to back up Julia's distraction and make it look like more empowered violence. Madison's idea. Supposedly it was all over the news, but Alan could not be bothered. It was not the droll of under talented commentators who would make him feel alive. Only this heist could do that right now. Finally he came to the last and arguably most important of his personal crew. "Madison do you have the cameras?"

"Yeah boss. I couldn't get to them directly through the building, but the company they feed to won't see anything they haven't been seeing for hours."

"Alright" Alan replied with a sinister smile that nobody could see. "We're going to start this thing in two minutes" he said this time to everyone before turning to Kieran. "Anything important you left out before we go in there?"

Kieran looked at Alan, then looked at everyone else and did a once over in his head. The plan was simple enough and as long as there were no hiccups everything would go perfectly. Kieran looked back at Alan and shook his head.

Julia looked around the warehouse apprehensively, to say she was having second thoughts would be the understatement of the century. She'd already had third, fourth and fifth thoughts at this point. But there was nothing for it, she'd already committed and backing out now would mean the whole operation might get violent and she couldn't in good conscience abide that. So as Alan announced the two minute warning, Julia just put on her best smile and went through her own plan in her head one last time, she'd been given something of free reign on how to cause a distraction and she intended to make sure it was the least illegal distraction possible.

Kieran looked at Alans crew, and gave a silent sigh. He checked himself over. He outfit consisted of an all black ensemble, with his clothes being all dress clothes. He had a silenced hand gun under his right arm holstered, and another gun under his left arm holstered. He spoke up so he could speak to everyone.

"Ok everyone listen up real quick. I do not want any deaths today. If there seems to be a situation, non lethal take downs only. These are innocent people ands we are the bad guys today. Lets get what we need, and then get out."

Of course the real reason he did not want anyone to kill was because Cori was already going to be furious when she found out what he was doing, adding death to the equation would destroy what little......whatever they had. Friendship? Kieran shook the thought out if his head. He needed to focus on the here and now.

Everything started. Chris was able to get Kieran and the people who were coming with inside, and they made their way through there. They were able to get a small layout of the floor plan, so Kieran and crew moved without hesitation forward. It was not long before they ran into trouble however. about a few minutes inside and Kieran and crew ran into a security door guarded by two guards that they could not sneak past. Kieran held up his hand at his crew and signaled he had this. Kieran then stood up straight, walked around the corner, and rushed the security guards.

Kieran aimed a quick jab to the throat at the guard on the left, hard enough to leave him wanting air but not enough to break anything, then aimed a swift low kick to the guard on the rights leg. With both guards incapacitated for at elast a few moments, Kieran stepped forward and choke holded the guard on the right until he passed out, then punched the guard on the left a few times until he was knocked out. Then Kieran took out his dart gun and shot both guards in the neck, injecting them with the knockout chemicals contained in the darts and leaving them unconscious for at least an hour. Kieran signaled for his crew to follow him. Kieran looked at the security camera, hoping their hacker had hacked the cameras and not made any mistakes, or else they were already made.

Kieran and crew continued forward, trying to look inconspiciuos and hiding when they couldnt. It took a bit longer than he preffered but they found the elevator that could take them to the floor they need to go to. One of the hidden sub levels. Once they got there, they would have no concrete maps or layouts so they had to rely on the intel Kieran had obtained. They arrived at the elevator, and went downwards inside it. Kieran hoped there wouldnt be anyone waiting for them when they got down.

When they arrived on the correct floor, Kieran was relieved to not have anyone waiting for them. Luckily as well as theyw ere in a more secure floor there would not be as much security down here, or at least it would not be as crowded. Kieran and crew began searching for the server room they were looking for. It took them much longer than he had anticipated, but they found the server room. Kieran sighed when he saw it. It was filled with racks of servers. Kieran looked at his crew.

"Ok, now comes the boring part. We need to find the correct server. Ill give the details of the server we are looking for to you. all"

Kieran and crew began sifting through data on the computers looking for the numbers belonging to the correct server. It took some time but eventually they found it. But when they did, alarms starting going off. Kieran cursed. They must have tripped a silent alarm in the system. But they knew which server they needed. The crew unplugged and packed up the single server, and gave the bag to Kieran. Then Julia caused her distraction, drawing away any incoming agents, and allowing the rets of the crew to sneak out.

Kieran and remaining crew left Julia behind and went full on stealth mode. They tried their best to remain undetected but a few times they ran into resistance from a few agents. Kieran would quickly knockout them out, or someone form his crew would do the same if Kieran could not get to them all especially since he had the bag. They were able to sneak out, and split up after exiting the warehouse. Kieran promised Alan he would have his money for him in a few days, then he vanished from sight.

Later, but not much later, Kieran arrived back at his home in his studio apartement above the night club. Kieran quickly went to work, setting up the server and plugging it into the equipment that he had hauled over so that his computer could connect and decode the server. Once everything was connected, Kieran powered up the server. Or at least he tried to. At first nothing happened. Kieran looked confused, re checking everything and taking out his notepad. He was an elite espionage agent, a lethal human weapon, unmatched in his field. But trying to hook up something like this astounded him. Kieran looked over his noted and realized what he did wrong. If he had been able to work it as it was, he would have been detected and his placed swarmed with CIA. He needed subltey and he needed to stay quiet about this.

Kieran powered up the equipment and turned on his computer. He was almost overwhelmed with the data he had. Kieran immediately went to work. He had his notepad and files, pens, and water. He needed to do this fast. Kieran shifted through the data, writing down as much information as he could regarding safe houses, equipment houses and drop boxes, loot caches and the like. He would need to be able to get his hands on as much stuff as he could
He also wrote down several CIA security clearance codes he thought he would need. Then he flound something he shouldnt.

Kieran began seeing several patterns. There was much more than simple drop off points on this server, there was coding that looked off and random tidbits about events and the like would show up. Kieran didnt know electronics and hacking very well, but he had a very basic understanding. Things looked weird. Kieran began shifting through more data, once he stopped writing several hours later. He found things were being logged by CIA agents that used a more secure clearance than you would think would be on this server.

The words "coalition" came up several times, and even "empowered" came up. Kieran cursed, wishing that he didnt have such horrible luck. Or maybe he had great luck? He found out which agents were hiding data involving the two, and which were adding it to the server. Which meant Kieran had now a list of possible agents who were either double agents for the coalition, or just simply knew about the two mentioned subjects. Kieran knew if it was the latter, he would need to know who theyw ere. More than likely they would be the ones who would be chosen to be sent on missions involving the two, and if anyone was sent after him it would be them. If it was the former, Cori would want to know.......or did she? Kieran thought he could handle that. Kieran wrote down the rest of the information he recently found, then hid his notes in a fake bottom of one of his desk drawers. Then Kieran moved the equipment into the attic, and left the server on his desk. He cleared his computer and locked it digitally.

Kieran decided to move on to the next stage of his plan. Kieran pulled out his phone and texted Cori.

Hello this is Kieran. I seemed to have found something that belongs to you. Would you please come over and retrieve it from my possession?

Cori Woods
Cori was proud of her work and took it seriously. But to be at the office on a Sunday was frustrating even for her--especially over a security breach. She stood at her new desk in her new office, pushing self consciousness to the back of her mind. She hadn't had time to pretty up before leaving the house because of the urgency of the breach, so she stood before her men with her dorky glasses and hair up in a lazy bun. And she could tell they had to stop themselves from staring: without her makeup done like usual, her albinism was especially hard to ignore.

"And since you're handling this...case," one continued, "we figured we had to call you down."

That morning she had returned home from Kieran's, and had spent the rest of the day preparing for the week ahead. Her division of the CIA would begin identifying and potentially nabbing empowered on the grounds of the danger they posed to society. The supers tearing up Atlanta offered more than enough proof in Cori's opinions--and the Director's for that matter. So to be interrupted about a security breach before the operation was even off the ground was unsettling to her.

The woman nodded, arms crossed and gaze narrowed. A guard had been injured. Intel stolen. It wasn't Coalition's MO--there were too few casualties. What would they benefit from stealing the information anyway? It was already known to Cori and her superiors. "What the hell?" she sighed, stepping back around the desk to collapse in her chair. There was a third party, maybe tied to the empowered, who pulled off the theft. Under her promotion, too, of course and she visibly winced at the thought of Verdock finding out. "Thanks. I'll take it from here. Keep monitoring and digging. There's gotta be a lead."

The two exchanged glances and nodded. As they left, Cori's phone buzzed. She scowled at it, seeing that it was from contact "K." Interesting timing, she thought, but dismissed her paranoia as she picked up the phone to read the text. Her brow furrowed at the screen. It couldn't be what she thought it was: even she was only alerted earlier today. "OK, I'll bite. OMW," she texted back.

Kieran/ Cori/ Verdock

Kieran looked at the server in front of him, resting on his desk. He sat in his swivel chair, uncharacteristically tapping his foot. Kieran went over the speech in his mind dozens of times on repeat. He would simply say he knew about the robbery because he had been monitoring CIA communications. He would pull up some bull program running on his computer that looked and acted real enough, so Cori would see believe he was monitoring CIA communications and security. He was living in a CIA safehouse, so it wouldnt be unbelievable that he could do that. Kieran would return the server, have his notes hidden, and be able to continue on with what he needed to do. He could track down the agents he had listed, and be able to work them over until he found ever coalition mole.

Kieran would do all this and he thought how impressed Cori would be. Maybe she would finally trust him completely when he handed over every coaliton agent. Kieran shook his head. He wondered why he wa so hung up on trying to helpm her, no........impress her. The last friend he had.......well that didnt end well. She left, he left, it was messy. He had a few friends now even though he had not seen them but he knew they were well. Kieran sighed and ran his hands through his hair.

"Calm down Kieran. You have lied before, you can lie again. This is for the greater good. If she knew what you did she would just arrest you. Literally she will send you to a supermax so secure not even you could escape."

Kieran stood up and wiped his shirt and pants off. He had not changed out of his black dress clothes, and his hair was slightly in his face from all of his recent activities, the work he had put in.

"I mean, yes it feels like she is your friend, but she is a law women to her core. Lawful good. Your.......chaotic nuetral at best.....no. Your evil plain and simple. You accepted this a long time ago. You take cash for lives and worse. Yes you have never killed or harmed children but thats been your only rule. She.....she would not accept you as you are. "

Kieran sighed and chuckled.

"I am getting worked up for nothing. Stupid me. Ever since I got these powers..........God its like everything has gone to hell."

Suddenly kierans phone rang. Kieran picked it up and listened.

Listen I need to speak quick. I know what you did you moron. You almost pulled it off undetected, but you slipped. You have slipped ever since you took that contract with the CIA. And you have been slipping since you got your powers. Now I dont care what it takes, get your shit together. If you go down so many other things go down as well. there is a lot riding on you Kieran Hishamie.

Then the call ended just as suddenly as it began. Kieran narrowed his eyebrows in confusion. What the hell was that. Kieran pocketed his phone and sat on the edge of his desk.

The Bentley pulled up in front of the safehouse, Cori feeling even more self conscious about her sloppy appearance but unable to place why. She killed the engine and paused, eyeing the house through her dark sunglasses. Despite Kieran's text--or maybe in spite of it--she couldn't help the feeling of paranoia in the back of her mind. Sighing, she get out of the car to approach the front door. "I'm coming in," she warned before knocking a couple times and pushing it open. "Whattya got?"

Kieran wasnt startled by Cori, but his chest became slightly heavier. Kieran sighed and like a dvd he rewinded himself so that he the same confident man she knew him as. Kieran faced Cori but still sat on the desk. He crossed his arms.

"Hello. I am glad you came as quickly as you did. I seem to have something of yours."

Kieran nodded his head towards the server next to him.

Cori's brow furrowed and she took off her sunglasses to squint between him and the black box. "Is that the.. server box thing?" she asked, and immediately felt her face flush. Server box thing. Yeah, she was a high ranking CIA operative.

Kieran immediately relaxed for a moment visibly and slightly laughed.

"Yes this is the......Server box thing...it is the one that was stolen from one of your warehouses a few hours ago."

"I don't have my contacts in," she defended herself under her breath before putting the sunglasses back on.

Kieran picked it up, placed it in a backpack that was laying next to the desk, then zipped it closed and walked over to Cori. He stood maybe a little too close than people who were only barely managing colleagues should be, but Kieran didnt pick up on it right away. He offered Cori thr bag.

"Here you go, undamaged."

Cori frowned as she watched him pack it up, growing tense when he stepped just a bit too close. It had been stolen only earlier that day, and all the stress and anxiety she had been dealing with because of it...mostly melted away. There were still a lot of unanswered questions. She hesitantly reached out to take the bag as if she didn't quite believe she had it back already. "That's pretty impressive, Kieran. How'd you know where to get it? Who had it?" she asked.

Kieran smiled. He placed his hands in hisn pockets, and stood up straight but relaxed. He looked into Coris eyes, well her glasses but he could see her eyes, and readied himself mentally.

"It was rather simple for someone of my caliber. I....stole it myself."

Kieran stopped himself and hid his own suprise. Fuck, he thought to himself. He meant to lie. Why didnt he lie? He did the opposite thing he wanted to do, he did it subconsciously.

Cori blinked and waited. For what, she didn't know, but she found herself expecting him to explain who he stole it from. Or maybe to joke--he didn't take anything seriously, right? However, he left it at that, and her gaze narrowed at him. "What?" she said simply, her tone hard. Now she welcomed the closeness, and she eyed Kieran closely.

Kieran almost took a step back but steeled himself. He thought to himself. "Ok close call, dont fuck this up man, seriously cmon. Your an elite espionage agent." Kieran steeled his eyes and looked Cori in the eyes again. He crossed his arms.

"I stole it from the CIA."

Kieran mentally face palmed himself and all his ancestors in their graves. He did it again.

"Its funny actually, I had this whole speech about what I was going to say you know? Had a whole lie in my pocket so believable that your head would have spin and the president himself would have given me a medal."

Kieran spun around and walked back to his desk. He sat on the edge and put his hands on his knees.

"But for some God damn reason, for me it a little hard to lie to you. I dont know why. I dont know for how long. But.......I wanted you to trust me. I still do. I stole the server myself, broke into the CIA warehouse myself, knocked out plenty of guards, snuck into the sub level of the warehouse, and stole the server. I then caused a distraction by tricking your agents and snuck out. I needed some information you were not willing to give me."

Behind the sunglasses, her eyes widened. Of all the things she expected, this wasn't one of them--and not with a full confession. As he spoke, her heartbeat in her ears nearly drowned him out as she struggled with the new information. I messed up again, she thought, her fair skin going paler as she tensed further. She hired a freelancer exactly to avoid putting other operatives in danger, and now he's turned around to steal from them. She had to drag herself out of that mindset in the moment, though; she had to deal with the problem in front of her.

Cori drew in a long and much needed breath, her gaze refocusing on Kieran where he sat. "I couldn't--" she started, but stopped herself. She wasn't going to defend herself against him--she didn't do antyhing wrong. "What the hell kind of information did you need? You said you needed information on Coalition--I don't have anything you didn't already see." Her tone was still hard but quieter, laced with anger.

Kieran sighed and closed his eyes.

"Well.......I have told you before I do the jobs normal people cant handle so others can work in the light. I realized that not everything was being shared," Kieran said opening one eye to look accusingly at Cori,"So I had to do what I had to do. Amongst the things I found I have a....slightly muddled...chart that can lead me to every coalition double agent planted in the CIA. The original plan was to obtain this data, and hunt them down."

Kieran left out the part about finding out about CIA safehouses and caches, mainly because that part really did not matter. A white lie at most. He has borrowed from CIA weapon stashes before, they never miss the stuff.....usually.

She glared at the passive accusation, her anger flaring. She would have argued there, but he admitted to finding Coalition agents--within the CIA. Although she hesitated, she remained quiet for a moment. That was rather convenient, finding information about Coalition stored within the CIA's own servers. Was he lying? It'd be strange to suddenly lie after spilling the beans so carelessly--and he had acted a little strange over dinner the night before. Cori licked her lips, unsure what to believe in that moment. When in doubt, call the probable bluff.

"I want the names," she demanded.

Kieran shook his head.

"I cant give you the names. Reason one, I dont have them entirely yet. Like I said I have a chart. Its.......a messy chart. I have to work the system. Reason two.......Cori your a good women. Your lawful. you will do everything right. And let them know your coming for them with enough time to torch everything and run. That is if they dont kill you first. No I need to do this myself, not just for me but for you too."

Kieran stood up and walked over to Cori. He slowly and softly reached up and removed her glasses, letting Cori and himself look into each others eyes, gazing into the endless possibilites that lay before them in this very room pertaining to their situation. Kieran tried to relay how he truly did not wish to cause her harm just with his gaze.

"If there is something I can do to ease any forthcoming pain in your direction I will do it. It why, I think, I told the truth instead of lying."

Cori swallowed, eyes narrowing further. Partly because she was suspcious and partly because she was farsighted. Despite the tone of his voice and his body language, she wasn't sure she could trust him then. The server was stolen and he had already taken information from it. She was quiet, struggling to figure out her next step, and she glanced away, lips pursed. Why couldn't he have just lied to her? She could've gone on about business as normal without worrying about this at all. "Shit," she muttered, feeling heavy as she looked back to Kieran.

"I want the 'chart,' then. Coalition missed its chance to kill me, and I need to be ahead of them." She, of course, didn't believe she was suddenly safe, but coming at her now would only convince Cori that there was more to learn. "This isn't about you. I can handle myself," she added, reaching to grab her sunglasses back.

Kieran hed her sunglasses in his hand, and while he allowed Cori to touch them, he did not let go yet. He looked her in the eyes and he spoke with a firm and solid determination that no man could challenge in this veyr moment.

"That may be so. I believe you have survived them once. But what happens if one of these agents is as skilled as me? Or worse, is better? If you want the chart do what you should have done in the beginning and work with me completely. Dont hold back....."

Kieran said this last part softly.

"You have to at least be able to.....I dont know...trust me somewhat more. I understand having to arm one hand and extend the other, but just because I am a free lancer it doesnt mean......"

Kieran stopped himself. Doesnt mean I am a horrible person is what I was going to say, Kieran thought, but I am. Kieran sighed.

"It doesnt mean that I am the worst option."

She wanted to argue that if Coalition had someone as good or better as Kieran, she'd be fine, but she found herself doubting before she could say so. So she just scowled at him as he spoke, irritated that he wouldn't return her glasses. "Trust you? You stole from me. And I have no reason to believe that you're suddenly being honest," she snapped. "I can't even fucking trust the people I work with, and you think I can just offer that trust to you instead?" Her foot stomped, attempting to release some frustration. "Who I trust can mean life or death, Kieran, and you've done nothing to earn it. So give me the goddamn chart and get out of Atlanta before I put you in prison myself."

Kieran gave back the glasses and took a step back. He looked down, then looked back at Cori. He almost smiled, but was actually annoyed by this whole situation. She had a few points, good ones at that, and he did not know how to argue this. Working solo was so much easier.

"Well.......I guess nothing else needs to be said."

Kieran turned around and put his hands behind his back.

"If wasnt for the fact Verdock promoted you, this would have made your career. Pretty lucky huh? Then again it seems like career is what you care about most so you were bound to get a break this good huh?"

Cori blinked, brow furrowing at his actions. This wasn't the direction she wanted this to go: why couldn't he just give her the information? She glanced to the bag on her shoulder; she had a start now that she knew it was there, somehow, so why did he follow up on her demand like this? Cori watched him, waiting again for the joke to be over or something, but his words came instead--and a little harsh. "Fine." He was right, though: she'd be returning with the server and the man who stole it--it was already more than what a lot agents would do in their career. Oddly, she didn't find much satisfaction in it.

She put on her sunglasses and reshouldered the bag before grabbing her cuffs. "You're under arrest for stealing and tampering with CIA intellgience."

Kieran scoffed. "If you ask me not much intelligence was there if a single man could steal it. Then again, I am not an ordinary man."

She closed the cuffs a little too tight around his wrists and directed him out the door. "Right to remain silent. Consider it," she said coldly, leading him out and into the back of her car.

Kieran allowed himself to be cuffed and led outside to the car. Kieran got into the back seat, a little more forced than he would have preferred, and sat up straight in the car. Kieran waited until Cori got into the driver seat and turned on the ignition, and when she did Kieran brought his hands to his front with the handcuffs in his right hand undone. He tossed them into the passenger seat and laid his hands in his lap.

"No offense but those were mighty uncomfortable. I think you can take me to your leader without them dont you? I mean you got to cuff me like a badass, so now you can take that feeling and keep it with you. In your pocket."

Cori scowled at the cuffs as they landed beside her, but she refused to give Kieran the satisfaction of glaring back at him. Instead, she remained silent and drove. She was seething with anger and frustration, and she may have taken turns a little too sharp and braked a little too hard for a passenger. She was furious at Kieran, of course, but a lot of the anger was directed at herself, too. She felt like an idiot. "Just do your job," she thought, focusing on the drive back.

Kieran felt every bump and turn Cori made, and with every bump it somehow felt more personal every time. Kieran was not usually one to get petty or even but for some reason he felt like if there was ever a moment for it now would be the time.

"Cori, did you know that I thought you were probably the most beautiful women ive ever met? Seriously."

Kieran narrowed his eyes.

"Honestely I have traveled all over the world, been to countries whose name are litterally illegal to mention, and been to places beyond the word exotic, and for some reason no other women.....has ever stuck with me as you badly as you have."

Kieran held up his wrists together.

"Quite literally."

Cori was calculated in her anger: and it was after a quick glance in her rearview--saftey first--that she slammed on the breaks so throw Kieran foward. "Okay, screw your right to reamin silent. I'm telling you to shut the fuck up," she snapped, finally looking back at him. "This isn't a joke, so maybe take something in your life seriously for once." She glared at him through her glasses for a few moments before picking up the drive again.

Kieran looked as sheepish as possible.

"You know I thought I was being serious when was contracted to stop terorrist from denonating a dirty bomb in washington dc, or this one time when I was so serious when I was contracted to stop a bunch of extremist from starting a public mass shooting in new york so that a full on civil war in the making could be averted."

Kieran shrugged his shoulders.

"Or maybe when I was so serious when I tried to stop you from working against me and tried to get you to work with me, but you know whatever right? Maybe I should have taken it as a joke, considering you think I will remain in any prison for more than 24 hours."

Cori rolled her eyes. Why couldn't he just listen to her? She wasn't surprised, but it was only making her more frustrated. "Don't get into it," she thought, glancing to the building as she pulled up front. Without a word, she stepped out of the front and opened the backdoor to scowl at him as he got out.

As Kieran got out of the car, hands in the air, Kieran spoke.

"Let me tell you how this is going to go down. You could shoot me in the head right now save us both the hassle-""

Don't tempt me," she interupted.

"Or you will take me in, I will be put in maximum security for an hour in some random room while you call m-......your director. He will then give you an order. Order you to let me go and give me total CIA access, or offer me a job, In the CIA."

Cori just stared at him, mouth in a straight line. The look behind the sunglasses was one of dull bemusement: like she couldn't quite believe someone was so cocky and stupid, and yet the evidence was right in front of her eyes. "Okay." She left her words at that and lead him into the building. Inside, she was warmly greeted by two guards who sat by the tall scanner.

"Who's your guest?" one asked as she dropped her phone and gun into the plastic tray. He eyed the bag she set down too.

"He's not a guest, he's a criminal," she explained plainly with a scowl at Kieran as she nodded for him to walk through the metal detector.

Kieran walked through the metal detector grinning, making the metal detector go off like crazy. Kieran saw one look from the guards and Kieran took several steps back. He then began to unload. first he took out his silenced pistol he kept hidden in the back of his pants, then the knife sheathed underneath his pant legs on his right and left leg, then he rolled up his sleeve and unhooked the blade attachments on his arms, then when he rolled down his sleeves he took out another sheathed small knife from his pocket, then he took out another silenced pistol hidden in the front of his pants underneath his shirt, then he took out the small throwing knives in his back pockets. He placed all this on the ground and took another step throught the metal detector.

The metel detector went off again and Kieran sighed. He took a few steps back and quickly unbuttoned his shirt. He opened his shirt to show a hidden stap underneath his right arm which led to a sheathed thin blade on his back. Kieran unhooked it, set it down, and walked through the metal detector without making it go off.

"Happy now?"

The two guards exchanged glances, eyebrows raised, and Cori stared on in annoyance. When he was finally through, Cori checked her watch as she took it off and stepped through as well. "If one of..." she hesitated and scowled at Kieran again as she recovered her items. "If both of you could escort him to room 2-A, that'd be lovely. Have Raymond keep an eye on him so you can get back to work. I'll be there in a bit myself, I just need to take care of a couple things." She snapped her watch back on and shouldered the book bag.

"You got it, Agent Woods," he agreed, though the other guard glanced between Cori and Kieran. Maybe at least one of them sensed this was above their paygrade.

Kieran walked off with the two guards to their destination. Turns out where they were headed was a small room with nothing but two chairs and a single table. Kieran was pushed inside, and it took all his will not to react physically. Kieran walked inside and sat down, closing his eyes and calming himself. He would be out of here soon enough.

In the opposite direction, Cori took a seat at her desk and sighed. She looked to the bag, and tapped at her pocket, finding her pack of cigarettes still there. It had been one hell of a Sunday, and she'd have a ridiciulous amount of paperwork. "Whatever," she muttered, closing her eyes and listening to the clock tick as she calmed down. Hopefully Verdock had already heard about the incident because she did not want to explain it, save for the part where she fixed it, of course. So she picked up the office phone and dialed his number.

Director Verdock picked up the call on the first ring. He had been busy with a ridiculous amount of paper work, and while recieving a call from Agent Woods was not the first thing on his list of happy things he wanted to recieve, Verdock was happy enough to recieve the distraction.

"Agent Woods, I trust you have a good enough reason to pull me away from my work?"

Cori couldn't believe she could say it to someone else: "You work too much. But, uh, yes--" She paused to quickly gather her thoughts before speaking again. It didn't sound like he heard the news. Of course. "We had a security breach, Sir. A server was stolen, but I've retrieved it and..caught the thief responsible. I was just calling to report and request a suitable team for his transfer behind bars." Usually an operative would be swelling with pride, but Cori only felt a little sick. Fuck it, she thought, pulling grabbing a Camel and her lighter.

Verdock drummed his fingers on his desk and frowned.

"Well good thing you plugged that, we have much more at stake than a simple secuirty breach. Was any intel stolen off the drive as far as you know? Also do we know who the thief is?"

Verdock began looking through his desk, trying to find the correct damn paper work for this. Another damn report he was going to have to read. Verdock sighed. Being the director..........sometimes he wished he was still a field agent.

"I'm going to have a team search the house in case anything was stolen," she responded before lighting the cigarette. She found herself suddenly hesitating before handing the name over. Her gaze narrowed and she exhaled smoke, a bad feeling setting in. "As for the thief, he's a freelancer. Kieran Hishamie..." Her voice trailed off. Director Verdock Hishamie. She froze, and closed her eyes. Oh no.

Verdock did indeed freeze, as soon as Cori uttered the name of the free lancer. For a full minute Director Verdock was speechless. Then his mind started to race. Why did HE have to be the one to steal the server? Why did he have to be there? And how was she able to arrest him?

"How did you arrest him and bring him into custody? What was the body count?"

She blinked. That wasn't quite the response she was expecting; it was a relief. "No body count, Director. The guards at the warehouse were only knocked out. And, I mean..." The fact that Kieran had just cooperated with Cori was probably not the response Verdock was looking for. "Well I had hired him previously, so, you see, he just kinda..came quietly--" She stopped. He was definitely not quiet. "Peacefully, rather," she decided.

Verdock immediately stood up, spilling paper work evey where around him.

"You fool! Do you realize how much danger you have put everyone else around you in? What kind of irresponcible agent are you to literally lead HIM inside your own base of operations? If he was cooperating in any way while you were ARRESTING him, it means he has you exactly where he wants you!"

Verdock calmed himself and ran a hand through his hand through his hair then froze. She said his last name........shit.

"Ok so here is what you are going to do, and this is an order Woods. Either let him go, and give him whatever he wants, or hire him. Not as a free lancer but as an official agent for the CIA."

Cori flinched at the outburst, wincing into the phone as she dropped her cigarette. As Verdock yelled, she picked it back up to put it out, tension giving way to sudden anxiety. "I-I just--" she started, but she heard him pause and calm down before speaking again. Her mouth dropped and closed, then dropped open again. She pursed her lips and finally spoke, carefully though her tone was incredulous if low. "Sir, he stole highly secured intelligence from us..."

Verdock frowned and held the office phone close to his mouth. He did not like this at all, not only because of....well his connection to this free lancer, but also simply because this man was involved in any way. He truly wanted to shoot someone for involving him in the first place. Life was much simpler.

"Exactly agent Woods, he stole from you. God knows what else he has done too. We need every assett we can obtain in our fight against the Empowered. You seem to think the Coalition is a threat as well, so dont you want more ammo against them? We need someone of this mans caliber and if we can bring him to our side, show him our values, he could be the greatest assett the CIA has ever recieved."

Verdock sighed.

"That You ever recieved. Dont think you wont recieve credit for his capture and turning. So like I said, this is an absolute order. Do not call back we anything other than "He is with us"."

Verdock angrily hung up the phone. Then he took out his personal cell and made a call.

"This is Verdock. Yes it seems our attempts failed, and whats more Agent K seems to be in CIA custody........yes...n-no I am taking.....yes I understand....no....Yes he wont remain there for long.......Yes sir understood."

Verdock hung up and sighed.

Cori laughed, a shaky exhale, after being hung up on. "He's empowered, too," she grumbled bitterly before slamming the phone back onto its reciever. She took off her sunglasses to absentmindely chew on the temple, finger tapping anxiously against the arm of her chair. The day had gone from stressful to worse, and her mind raced for a way out of this. But an order was an order, and Verdock made it clear he wasn't fucking around: lack of control on that anger and all.

"Goddammit," she muttered as she stood, replacing her sunglasses with her normal ones. There was nothing else to do but deal with Kieran, and she couldn't avoid it forever. She walked out of the office and took the halls to 2-A, where she would dismiss the operative at the door, draw in a long breath, and walk in to look at Kieran and his no-doubt smug face.

Kieran did indeed look smug, eyes closed and a slight grin on his face. He stretched his arms and opened his eyes, then gestured for Cori to take a seat. Then his demeanor physically relaxed and slightly softened. He did feel bad still, he was......just being a prick about it because he felt hurt.

"Cori.....I am sorry. I know you are just doing your job. And....I havent made it easier on you. I.....was kind of an ass on the ride over here....I get it your pissed. Just..know that I am in fact sorry."

She glared at him as she sat down, leaning back and away from him, arms crossed. The apology didn't quite soften the glare, either. The anger had mostly passed, though, and her tone was cool. "So Verdock is your father?" she commented, unamused. "That explains the special treatment."

Kierans gaze immediately hardened, and he met Cori's eyes with a sudden steely gaze that he had never shown her before. He became physically uncomfortable as he sat up and crossed his arms.

"While any other director by now probably would have killed me off, do not mistake The Directors orders as an act of special treatment. He is a cold and calculating man, never one to miss an opportunity. So no...he is not my father. Ive never met the man in person or even spoken to him over the phone."

Cori blinked, continuing to watch him squirm a bit. "Well regardless of your lack of a relationship, you were right." She hadn't quite figured out her next step until that moment: Verdock gave her an ultimatum to either let him walk or recruit him. She was tempted to leave it at the former and tell him to leave--fuck the whole "give him whatever he wants" aspect. However, despite her pride and her feelings, she knew Verdock was right. Kieran could be an asset, and if he could be trained to actually work with the CIA, that'd be helpful against the Empowered and Coalition. She grimaced to herself, though: Kieran was empowered, and that opened another can of worms. She sighed.

"You walking or are you joining?" she asked, frowning at him.

Kieran looked sullen. He expected this and tried to prepare himself the best he could, pretending like it didnt bother him. He had let himself be arrested, and he could break out of here. Killing everyone. But....that would complicate things. He would end up becoming one of the very monsters he saw on the news, one of the freaks that gained power and abused it. He had power, he had skills, well before he became an Empowered. Kieran grimaced as he spoke.

"Well.......I will...join. Condition being you are my handler. I work directly for you, at least when it comes to ops regarding the coaltion and empowered. When I am not doing anything regarding them, then I will comply but I believe that for now I will be mainly dealing with them."

Cori's eyebrows raised then furrowed. That wasn't quite what she expected--or wanted--but it'd make Verdock happy, she supposed. Well, here we go. "You'll comply anyway. There's a chain of command here, Kieran, and you're coming in fresh at the bottom." Now she leaned foward to scowl at him, allowing some leeway. "You're right though. You'll be on the assignment under me especially considering your..condition." Every inch of her was screaming against allowing an empowered so close to the operation, but she would have to juggle pleasing Verdock and keeping an eye on Kieran.

"And if you put this operation or my men in harm's way, I will act as 'any other director,'" she said coldy as she stood up, clearly bristled if restrained. "You're free to go. See you Monday."

Kieran stood up and walked to the door. He was about to leave, but he had an ache in the pit of his stomach. He just felt.....wrong.......leaving like this. Kieran looked back at Cori.

"See you monday......boss."

Kieran left the room and then the building. He walked the entire way back to his studio apartement and when he arrived home he sat in his chair at his desk and went through his files. He still had work to do, even if Cori was pissed at him. He wasnt going to let anything harm her.

Cori Woods
The US Government had began its plan of action against Empowered. With Agent Woods' initiative after the Storm, they already had a working list of potential superhumans when the order was executed, known as the Aegis Initiative. Cori oversaw the operations in Georgia and was in constant communication with other leaders nationwide, acting as an advisor. It was stuffy work, and she spent a lot of time on the phone or exchanging e-mails. The stress was weighing on her, too, and she smoked a little more everyday. When things did slow down, her thoughts wandered to Kieran; she had set him up to work against Coalition, generous with resources and information. But beyond, that she did her best to avoid him, and that meant her slow days pushed her out into the shooting range or the field.

Most recently, she had watched through a scope as her men approached a suspected Empowered in the park. Luckily, her her interferance hadn't been necessary and they managed to subdue and detain the suspect. Usually in those moments, she swelled with pride for her fellow operatives, but she found herself feeling anxious to be involved hands on. Her most direct lead, Jace Williams, had fled the state in light of the violence he caused. She stayed alert for reports on his whereabouts, but it seemed he wasn't a complete idiot. There was also the Harley Quinn impersonater, who was annoyingly elusive for her men. And Cori wasn't in the position to dive head first into a case herself, especially with Coalition always on her mind. She still didn't fully understand their goal, but she was certain they needed to be eliminated. This whole mess was their doing.

In the current moment, Cori was on lunch break. It was her first time eating lunch in the park since the Storm, though her food--a healthy chicken wrap and a bottle of water--sat mostly untouched beside her on the bench. Instead, her attention was on her phone, eyes narrowed at the screen. The public had surely but slowly gathered what was happening. As expected, there was a bit of a split on its opinion: Cori scolled through articles and videos both condemning Empowered for putting the public at risk and the US government for violating citizen right. She sighed and slipped the phone away to resume eating. You're on break, Woods, she thought. Chill.

Ariana Morales
As promised to Luke, Ariana had been focused on helping prove Tamara's innocence. He had dropped thirty grand to release her, but that didn't make her non-guilty in the eyes of the public or the government. And that government had beat Ariana to outted Emopowered and while her pride was injured, she was furious at the injustice carried out against them. Luke was innocent and was only using his powers for good! Sure, there were crazies like Jace or the Harley Quinn wannabe that action needed to be taken against, but Ariana understood that anyone could be a target if they were even suspected of being superhuman.

Her anger had already fueled a few clickbait articles denouncing the US Government--it's what paid for her food too--but her time had been focused on Tamara and Luke. It had taken a few days, but she found the evidence via...questionable means. But it would be a start. The document she had together outlined any shootings in the Atlanta area since the storm then grouped them in a variety of ways: companies that donated to certain charities, type of establishment, how well the companies treated their workers. And the McDonald's "Tamara" shot up only matched one other shooting in an interesting way. Both the recent shooting at Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's was carried out by a female assailant and targetted employees alone.

The document read on in search of a single person who may be connected to both. It was difficult because employee history is technically supposed to be confidential under HR, but Ariana was persistant. She had visited both places under the guise as a potential employee. Both were hurting for employees after the, well, mass murders and Ariana worked fast: two "interviews" in two days, both shamelessly used to steal employee records. And one name--of the survivors--could be connected to both: Elliot Burrows.

She copied and pasted his name at the end of the document, staring in disbelief. She had never felt so accomplished. The local police could have done better, of course, if she went to them with the information. But she didn't trust them and Jace had fucked up the station anyway. So with that, she pulled her phone and quickly tapped a message to Luke. "i have a name!! we should visit tams neighbor!! come get me @ the hotel."

Maybe it wasn't smart to confront a potential Empowered who had murdered serveral people via innocent young women. But doing things by the book was too slow. The government was complacent and rather go after innocent Empowered. Ariana's resolve to find and expose the truth--especially for the good of Tamara and Carrie--wouldn't allow her to sit around and wait.

Kieran Hishamie

Thursday

It had been a week since Kieran had been officially hired as a CIA agent, since he had been given an official badge and ID, a licensed fire arm, and all the details that made a CIA agent, a CIA agent. Kieran had spent the entire week under orders from Cori, not that he had...well...listened. He tried to do as she ordered, considering she was his superior now, but Kieran was so used to being able to operate how he wanted and when he wanted Kieran soon found himself going on his own secret missions. He still had the list of Coalition moles, and Kieran made it his personal mission to find them and effectively silence them. He wanted to go after the dangerous Empowered, but Jace had been out of sight for too long, and no other Empowered really came close to the threat level it would take to get him involved. Kieran would comply with hi orders by day, going solo at night.

It was now thursday, and Kieran was honestly spent. He sat in his studio apartment in his chair, thinking how working for an organization and mostly following the rules is more tiring than anything he had ever had to do. Having a job is super overrated. He took out his phone, tempted to contact Cori. They had been......well unsteady was very far away from the level of tension there was between them. there had to be something he could do. Kieran thought about how he could still give her the list, but he had taken care of most everyone. Plus she would be upset that he had not given her the list earlier.

He could always invite her to dinner, but he doubted she would show up. Something about pressing is luck this hard seemed like a bad idea. They needed......something. Kieran could always...call..the Director. Kieran sat back and sighed. He realized he was so desperate he was actually considering calling the Director of the CIA. Over a girl. Kierna knew how fucked up that was. Cori put the job ahead of everything else. What could he do?

Kieran decided to suck it up and text her.

Message for C from K. Requesting location for meeting.

Kieran sent the message, and no sooner did he send it did he recieve a call. Kieran answered it quickly.

"My my Kieran, you have been a busy bee," Said a female voice but not Cori's ", I do not approve of how you have been spending your days. An official CIA agent? Please tell me your joking?"

Kieran tried hard to think on who he could be talking to but for some reason the voice was just out of memory.

"Wait....do you not recognize my voice? My I am wounded! Well now I regret calling to inform you I am sending someone to you. They need your expertise."

The women hung up as there was a knock on the door. Kieran pocketed his phone and opened the door, seeing a young boy standing there.

"Are...are you Kieran Hishamie? I was sent by to you because I was told you could help me."

Kieran looked around suspicious. He ushered the boy inside and closed the door. He watched as the boy walked over and sat in his seat. Kieran crossed his arms. "Who sent you kid? Why arent you in school?"

The boy appeared distraught, which made Kieran uncomfortable.

"I dont know who but the lady is someone who controls all the badguys. She is nice though, she said you could help me. My parents were kidnapped because they were framed by some people to take the fall for a robbery against some bad guys, so those bad guys stole them. im sacred they are going to do hurt them!"

Kieran sighed. He didnt have many options. He could throw him out.....but Kieran knew he wasnt going to do that. He could make the kid go to the police, but he knew the police would much everything up. The CIA would prevent him from doing this..........Kieran walked over and knelt in front of the boy placing a hand on his head. "Dont worry kid. I need a few more details, then your going to a relatives house while I take care of everything."

Jace Williams – How did this happen

"NO NO!!!!" Jace was screaming, his whole life was collapsing in front of his eyes. Everything he'd worked for revenge, and redemption alike were both coming to an end. Tears streamed down the super powered killer's eyes and blue lights were flashing all around him. He was laying in the ground blood rushing from him, and rain coming down all- around him. Several police cars were present, sirens, police officers, even some heavilly armored vehicles, and some media personell. In the distance was a damaged ginormous home in the back-ground, and Jace looked in the sky having several images pass through his mind before he lost conscious.

"I gotta go, fuck this town, if she wanna be dumb she gotta be dumb." Jace was driving on the highway ready to start his new life in Florida. His apartment had been raided, he had everything he needed, and it was simply time to move on. He didn't want his sister to get hurt, but if anything happened it would be fine. He'd killed Luke after all, she'd find out eventually, and if she never spoke to him again that was fine with him.

His life was simple, he'd made it to Florida, he opened the keys to his new place, and stepped in and settled down on the couch. He decided to bring his stuff in, and get ready to play some Scotty Cain, and relax. At least that's how it should have went, but no karma had a sneaky way of creeping back up on you when it least expected and it definently did for him, in ways he hadn't ever imagined.

He was three hours on his way when he'd received a call from Tamara asking him to come back, claiming that not only was she wrong about Luke but that he was still alive. He was sure this was some ploy, no way but he heard Luke's voice on the phone.

"You think you was gonna get the last strike huh motherfucker! I played yo ass with my shit, I put my shit to a whole nother level, illusions and shit bruh, you ain't kill me and ole girl!!! Bitch it was a play, and yo stupid ass sister, I'm finnaf uck her up, I'mma ruin her life, in more ways then you can iamgine, bitch if you gotta problem push up on me mothetrfucker, or Tamra's done!!!!!" Luke barked on the phone before hte line went dead, JAce was in shock nearly veering off the highway. He pulled into a gas station and banged his hands on the dash board with anger denting them. "Damn it DAmn it! LUKE!"

His rage was at a whole nother level, not only had he failed to get rid of Luke, he'd let his sister go and now the Black Professor X had her. He knew he was right about his assumptions, Luke was the only person with mental powers so of course it was him that ruined his sister's life. He was determined to stop Luke, and make sure to kill him, he'd bring the entire house down, he'd wipe out Luke's entire family, he'd made sure the Braxtons were wiped off the face of the earth regardless of the past, right now he didn't care about the law, Luke Braxton was the biggest threat to his family specifically his sister and he wouldn't let him live.

That's how it all started, and it culiminated hours later. When Jace had pulled up to the parking lot of the Judge Walton's massive home to confornt Tamara. It was ironic he knew why Luke was drawing him here, if he could get into people's heads he knew this was the last person he intended to kil before he abandoned his bloody rampage of vengeance. He had came to save Tamara, to kill Luke, at this point kill the judge too, clearly leaving business undone wasn't the wisest thing. He'd marched in ripping the front door of it's hinges intending to kill Luke and it had all went down.

" But I failed bro, I failed, she played me." Fast forward a week later Jace was sitting down at a table looking none other then his incarcerated brother in the eyes. Devon Williams looked at his brother with concern, his tale was quite the tale, but there had been two prisoners who'd been murdered by the guards since the storm both had superhuman abilities, and intended to incite a prison break, and were stopped with aid from outside authorities who put them down.

"So you had powers man, and there just gone zapped away? You sure it's got nothing to do with Braxton's mind mojo I mean you had them up until that point bro."

"It don't make sense but there gone. Like I told you I burst in there, the Judge's family was gone, Tamara was there she tried to calm me down, told me Luke wanted to help me, told my powers were fucking with my head, making me a monster, I was pissed she set me up, Luke came in he had some help, they all went at me, I Was damn enar finna beat his ass, Tamra got in the way, then Luke got in my head told me I ain't shit, then the cops came, shit got bad, Tamaara got shit, Luke told me I wasn't shit, I just wanted to save Tamra, I Tried to stop the cops, next thing I knew they tasered me, I Was down, my powers were gone. Even Luke didn't know what the gfuck was happening bruh, these powers just left me as quick as I came. Luke did his jedi mind tricks and dipped out with sis, I ain't seen them since, but she's dead tyo me. SHe ain'tt ook my powers, but she damn sure worked with Luke, and I've been normal. That's how I got locked up, booked, processed, I got sent to prisont his fast, I know Luke was involved, but my powers he can't touch him."

"Damn bruh..like damn..!!! You coulda gotten us outta here, we coulda been free man it's." Devon was saddened but more so that his sister apparently turned on them, and now Jace was in prison with them. She was out there with Luke, and they were in jail.

"I just don't know mayne, I was stronger then him, It wasn't Luke he was damn near unconscious, his folks couldn't do shit to me, it wasn't even his mind command, it was after Tam was shot, it just went like a big zip, I felt all this force rushing outta me, I really thoguht about what Luke said man, I believed it, I got her shot I wasn't shot, but what's she to get me in here what's she.."

"Bruh...man I dunno maybe they'll come back, bruh you gotta believe, you gots to mayne. Maybe Luke was messing with Tamara's head you gotta think that bruh who knows what happened in the end."

"Who knows but we stay talking L's,t hat's what our family does I'm finna go workout man, It's just hell, we're in here it's hell." Jace stepped from the lunch table, having already gobbled down his "Food" and left. He made his way over to work out, he had everything, he was invincible, he nearly exacted revenge on everyone who ruined their lives, and now he was stuck in prison probably for the rest of his life powerless, set to watch him and his brother grow old together.

Everything that happened over the past month he'd gone from something to nothing. He saw Devon's dissapointment, he knew his brother really believed in him, maybe he should have just burst into prison and broke him out and took him with him to Florida. But now that was nothing more then a pipe dream, he was a regular mortal, set to suffer the regular fate of a non powered mortal for the super powered crimes he did. The court didn';t even believe in his superhuman abilities, they just linked him to the crimes, and that was that powers or not. He sighed as he made his way over to the weights and punched a wall then shook his head. He didn't know what to do, there was no way out, and that girl had the nerve to bother him. He told her if she really cared get him and her brother out, with what she could do they could get out it would be risky but they could but she filled his head with nonsense that wasn't helping and right now he didn't need imagination he needed help. He sat down and under weight ready to get to work, this was the only thing that kept his mind off his circumstances.

Luke Braxton – Rise of the Empowered

Innocent U.S Civlians being taken away, or threats to society being removed? He didn't know if the Govenrments intention was to keep this on the hush hush, mainly it was just rumors, but many people had taken the story and ran with it. Apparently the U.S Government was sweeping through the nation picking up people with powers, and doing God knows what to them. Arianna was furious, and Luke being the paranoid person he was believed it.

He'd made sure not to use his powers in public, hell just going to the police station and getting into it with Jace had been enough. He had two agents come to question him, CIA, he'd read their minds, and filled up their heads to the point they'd reported there was nothing strange going on with him, and the incident with the apartment was entirely related to the now depowered Jace Williams.

It was all going down the drain, the whole conforntation with Jace was a mess. Tamara'd gotten shot, her car was wrecked, everything she still didn't want to talk to him. Her court date was in a few months, and he'd use his powers to free her. The same way he'd used his powers to get the court system to sentence Jace to 10 years in prison, it was a break honestly he should be facing triple life.

His ability to influence the court system was great, and his own brother's court date was soon. He wanted to use his powers to get the Judge to release him in a few days when the date came up. If only Jace had listened, he planned to get Craig out of prison. Initially he set out to get Devon too, but there was no telling what Jace said to him. Regardless after Tamara got out the hospital she wanted nothing to do with him, still he'd used his powers to help her get a job working online.

She blamed him for lying, he wasn't lying. He had no idea what happened to Jace's powers in the fight, but the police barged in, he got Tamara out of there and to the hospital. He was sure in the eyes of the Government Tamara was still being watched, and even if she didn't like him that was fine. He was heavilly tempted to use his powers to persuade her to see eye to eye with him but still family was over everything. In her eyes he'd manipulated both her and her brother and put her brother int hat position.

"Damn it." Luke sighed as he rolled another blunt, and sparked it. He'd been smoking more marijuana then ever, he'd been smoking and smoking. He had to stay high at this point, and he was worried. Sure he'd sent those agents packing, but what if they came at him full force, and put him down. There was s many ways to stop him.

He'd fully moved into Amber's place, and was glad for it. He wanted to buy his own place, but for once he didn't want his image to work against him. Sure he made a decent income at Uber, and Lyft but legally he didn't want to be on paper buyinga house. His apartment was ruined, luckily he didn't have to deal with them anymore. A lease wasn't a problem, after all a superhuman attack wasn't thought of when it was drafted, and thanks to his renters insurance he was being refunded.

Jace was a problem, or at least he was. His powers were gone, he didn't know how. But what if one day his powers suddenly vanished, what he was doing well he was in over his head. He wasn't telling anyone about his actions, he didn't want Arianna to know, or even Lucy and the rest of the Empowered he met. He was doing this he said for everyone, but really it for himself.

He was definently done moving drugs himself, he was a trafficker full and full. He'd used his brothers connections to import large quantities of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and MDMA into Atlanta. He'd used his powers on law enforcement to get several dealers, distributors, and traffickers arrested over the past week. The APD was being praised for their historic number of drug busts over the past week.

He did this for many reasons, some of the people he disliked, others were simply too violent, but mainly to create a scarcity of drugs, and inspire a fear in other involved in the Atlanta Drug Trade. While he put so many others behind bars, he'd moved up the ladder. He'd raised the price of the drugs and he'd gotten other dealers to work for him. He hadn't gone after the entire Atlanta Drug trade, that would be too much.

But he'd diminshed his opposition siginfingaly, was getting high quality drugs, and making sure his people weren't touched, and he was making more drug money then he'd ever make selling grams on his campus. Thanks to his power, ingenuity, and using the law to his advantage he was rising to be one of the most powerful and connected people in the Atlanta Drug Trade. Hell he had people moving drugs to other parts of Georgia, money was rolling in, he was living out the Scarface fantasy without risk of being arrested thanks to his powers.

So the past week hadn't been all paranoia about being captured by the Government, and regret over what happened with Jace. He'd been doing more drugs then he'd ever been doing before, had more money, even attended a couple lavish parties with the upper echeleon of Atlanta, and shown what it really meant to get drunk and high on a whole other scale. He'd met with his mohter a few times that week too, and got her to give him ownership over Braxton's wings the family's business.

Using his powers he'd influenced many people to come there, but after they had some of his famous southern cooking they were coming back on his own. Braxton's wings popularity had exploded, and he had taken a hefty business loan. He was in the plans of opening up two more Braxton's wings another in Atlanta, and another in the suburbs of Atlanta. He'd make his family's business succesful, he wanted to rival some of America's best food chains, and his powers were going to make it possible. IN short he was having a wonderful time, Jace, Tamara, the Government, all those things where in his mind but in-between all the money he was counting, all the drugs he was doing, all the blunts he was smoking, and all the women he'd fucked he was able to keep his mind at bay.

He was putting some money in his money machine at Amber's house when he got a text from Arianna that caught his eyes. "Elliot Burrows hmm." He hadn't heard that name before, but he thought Tamara had mentioned him once or twice in passing, some comments about being an annoying neighor. That was a start, he didn't know if Arianna's information would fully help or how she got it but it was good. Still if she was messing around with information the Government might find interesting about people with powers, he wanted her to be careful. Sure he could control people, but he couldn't control machines, and he wasn't Jace so if she could got captured he couldn't burst in and get her. He could get the courts to let her go, but if the real Govenrment got theirh ands on her he couldn't find her not to mention rescue her. He shot her a text saying he'd be on his way, he slipped into some cargo pants, and a 1017 T shirt, and went out to his car. "Hopefully I can find out who did this to you Tamara." He took a few more hits of the marijuana blunt now a roach and tossed it out the windows. He turned on some YFN Lucci, and pulled out the driveway to make his way to Arianna.

Marcus Wilson - Check the Block

Thinking deeply, Marcus sat quietly on one of the sofa chairs in his living room. He sat back, as to let his guest and business partner know that he was taking a quick break from the conversation to think. Marcus’ guest, Larry Falcone was a short, slightly overweight and balding Italian man who dressed in a cheap blue suit, expensive gold rimmed shades and shoes that were probably made from an illegally poached animal’s skin. Larry’s lack of a tie only added to how damn shady this man looked.

“So… what do you think?” Larry inquired as he got impatient with Marcus. He kept his eyebrows high, hoping that Marcus would say ‘yes’. Like Marcus, Larry wanted money from every angle you could think of and that is exactly why he was here. Larry was a pitcher of ideas, and Marcus was the guy who got shit done.

“Nah. Think about it… Braxton’s Wings. I never even heard of this corner chicken spot you’re trying to feed to me. And when the fuck did we start focusing on fast food?” Marcus smiled as he found Larry’s idea of helping back the upcoming food chain ridiculous. “Have you even tried their wings?”

“No, but I hear they’re the best spot in Atlanta right now!” Larry shot back. “Listen, my cousin Zeke took his kids out there and he said the wings were phenomenal! I looked the place up and people in Atlanta are going crazy for the place!” Larry was naturally a loud talker and exaggerator, so Marcus just gave him a skeptical look as he always did when Larry fed him bullshit.

“First of all, Zeke don’t like your ass because you never paid him the money you owe!” Marcus matched Larry’s volume. He then put two fingers up. “Second, I said no. I’m not backing a fast food spot because their chicken tastes good. You know how many chicken places they probably have in Atlanta? That’s like telling me that I should endorse one of the neighborhood potheads because he smokes a lot weed! If I tried to fuck over a KFC, a damn Popeye’s would come up. Take the Popeyes out and then you get a Churches Chicken, then Bush’s Chicken. Only for some old ass nigga whose been frying chicken since 1965 out of a damn truck to come up and take the money flow. It’s too much work and it’s too risky, and remember, I do the work.” Marcus made his final point and stood up shaking his head. Larry did not look as happy as when he had pitched the idea which such excitement in his eyes. “Larry, just keep me updated on the chicken spot. If they blow up a little more, I might consider.” Marcus said with a sigh.

“I’ll do that, but I’m telling you, you’re gonna miss a big one if you take too long… Which isn’t a problem for a guy like you.” Larry said this as he watched Marcus grab the remote. The first thing that popped up was CNN. The incident in Atlanta was still being talked about.

“And you want me to do business there? Watch this shit.” Marcus changed the channel to ESPN which was showing a 2017 West Regional March Madness game. Larry looked at the game before hearing the remote fall with a hard slap to the ground with Marcus nowhere to be found. Larry shook his head and picked up the remote.

“This shit is going to break on the fucker one day I swear to…” Larry paused as he heard the television erupt with a roar of people cheering and wailing. He looked up at the mounted 120-inch screen with his eyes wide.

“Looks like Oregon’s “Cannon” Naje Blackson is going to be out for the game.” One of the announcers said as the one of the players was seen being taken from the court after falling and twisting his ankle .

“Losing their star point guard is really going to hurt them.” The second announcer replied. Larry just looked in confusion until Marcus appeared standing in front of the television before turning it off.

“That’s how you make money. The dad of the second string point guard wants to see his son play and get recognized, check! A guy wants the perfect bracket for March Madness, check! The other team’s coach wants to win at any cost, check! Three huge checks, and I’m not talking about the little check the block bullshit. I mean checks I’m gonna cash today. One act, three checks! Low risk!” Marcus cheered with a bright smile on his face.

“Good shit! Do I get a cut?” Larry asked. He was impressed at how good Marcus was getting at using his powers. He seemed to get faster by the day. Larry also could not help to notice how innovative Marcus was getting at making money. Larry could remember when Marcus’ best idea was to just pickpocket people all day. It was okay, except he’d be burning a lot of energy and there was too much risk for exposure.

“Nah, that was a solo act. Pitch your next idea and we’ll get another check. 75-25?” Marcus asked as he walked towards his bar in the kitchen of his home. He hid the nonchalant smile he had one his face.

“No! You get 60!” Larry yelled as he hated how greedy Marcus was at times. “You think you can con the best conman in LA?!” Larry said as he turned the television back on and changed the channel to watch Real House Wives of Atlanta. “Now this is something to watch. Big booty bitches.” Larry said more to himself than out loud. Marcus just poured himself a rum and coke.

“Deal!” Marcus answered with a chuckle before he sipped his drink. “And you mean fake booty bitches.”

“They’re still big.” Larry replied with a low voice.

Kieran and Cori

Resigned to relax, Cori reached for her lunch just in time for her phone to buzz. She paused and sighed, scowling. Why did people only text you right after putting your phone away? The woman grabbed her phone and opened the message, her frown hardening. It was Kieran, requestining to meet up. She had given him resources and information and left him mostly to his own devices, but he was still required to check in and do paperwork and all that jazz. It was irritating, but he did exactly what the Director said he would: he proved to be a useful agent.

Sighing, she tapped a reply back, "Park. On lunch break, by the way." Without a hint of remorse at her passive-aggressiveness, she switched the phone to silent and put it away again.

About half an hour later, Kieran walked up and sat down next to Cori on the bench she was sitting on while she was on her lunch break. He gave no verbal sign or sound that he was there, just simply.....waiting for her to notice. He was on a time table because of the kid, and he still needed to find the women who kept sending him problems. Then he had his new day job and all the paper work and regulations he had to follow really kept his schedule filled, but he always had time to give out a little attitude. Sometimes. Really only when it came to Cori. And he had enough of her. Nothing had changed about his thoughts towards her but he was sick and tired of being the bad guy in this. She wanted to be mad, fine. He didnt have time to waste on her being pissed at him. Being distracted like this could get him killed at any moment.

In that half hour, she had finished her sandwich and was occasionally checking the time. Cori noticed the movement in the corner of her eye and frowned at Kieran. When he didn't say something immediately, she sighed. "What do you need?" she asked. Her tone had been laced with impatience much that week, and that moment would prove to be no exception.

Kieran, without looking or even opened his eyes, pulled out a vanilla envelope from inside his shirt and set it next to him. "That is the list of moles and more information on the Coalition I dug up. I have found and eliminated all known CIA/Coalition moles from the data that was on the server. There are a probably more that we do not know about, simply because the ones I found were the ones who had secure server access, and there are bound to be Coalition agents after me now that they know I know about them. If you dont hear from me in seventy hours its because they succeeded," Kieran said with an indifferent tone.

"As for the mission I was actually assigned, I raided the suspected Coalition base and succeeded in capturing it. No casulties, although some of the men may complaign about not seeing enough action. I tried to keep the....least....the ones less likely to survive a one on one encounter in the back but you know how men are."

Kieran stood up, pushed up his sunglasses, and brushed off his pants. "I am going to be unavailable for the next few hours by the way."

Cori eyed the envelope and looked back to Kieran, lips pursing. His assignment was no doubt handled well, and he had the proof there. Pushing paperwork would be a bitch, but she trusted he'd get it done. He was making it difficult to stay distant with him, and she wondered if she had been too hard on him over the last week. Her posture seemed to loosen up as she picked up the envelope. Her lips parted to breach the subject, but he stood and changed the subject. "What's so important?" she asked instead, brow furrowing behind the sunglasses.

Kieran pocketed his hands and turned his back to Cori. "I am going to be either be crouching in the shadows, impersonating a gangbanger, or elbow deep in the blood of the enemies of a child."

Cori's gaze narrowed and her frown returned. "What are you talking about?"

Kieran sighed but did not move. "I seem to have a fan or a stalker, who enjoys sending me trouble. It is something I could not avoid, and she is someone who prefers to stay hidden so I havent been able to stop her yet, but dont worry if I die or fail it wont come back to haunt your CIA, or your career. "

Cori's head tilted as she absorbed that and she was silent for a moment. Usually jabs at her work ethic bristled Cori, but she wasn't sure how to approach Kieran in that moment. Something seemed off and it wasn't just that his personal matters could mean his death. She eyed his back and then looked around. "Do you need help?" she offered carefully.

"Some back up would be helpful, taking down two local gangs is going to put me in a spot, but you dont worry I am not asking you. You are going to be very busy, what with the contents of the envolope, making sure the complaints against me do not hurt your reputation or connections since your my handler, and whatever else your dealing with I choose not to find out about."

Kieran gave her a two finger salute.

"Sayonara," Kieran said as he began walking away.

Cori tensed, frown deepening. She had exhausted most of their arguments, and she hated not getting the last word, but she still hesitated. Her gaze dropped down to the envelope, and then up to watch him walk away. Her fingers tapped nervously against the paper and she sighed. "Kieran, wait," she said, standing up.

Kieran stopped and turned around, keeping his eyes hidden behind his shades. "Yes ma'm?"

Well she hadn't thought ahead this far. She crossed her arms as she began slowly, "Thanks. You did well." It was stiff, but it was a start, and she could already feel warmth in her face due to embarressment. That was the easy part, and now she had to articulate her feelings. She sighed again, turning her head as she avoided looking at him. "And I know I've been...difficult," she admitted with a lick of her lips. "But I'm..." She paused again, still visibly tense as she decided on a different direction.

"You know how it's been. I thought I was better at this job than...that. Than hiring moles right under my nose." She shrugged and shook her head--she was losing her train of thought. "Whatever. So when you insisted on working with me and then you stole from my work, I just felt even worse. And like I can't really trust you. So I took it out on you a little bit, and I know I've made things harder on you even though you're doing work you don't even want to do," she continued, her words rushing together and her body tense. "So, I'm sorry."

With that, she nodded a little and finally looked to him again.

Kieran blinked, and his shades slid slightly down his nose. He was....well to say he was suprised was to wildly understate it. He hadn't expected that. He didnt need that either, especially with him about to go risk his life to save some stupid kids family from some stupid punks in two stupid gangs. Kieran thought, "Fuck how do you think I am going to react when you do something stupid like that?"

Kieran walked back over to Cori and stopped in front of her. He pushed his glasses up his face then paused, trying to think of what he should say and what he should do. Kieran raised his hand.........and slightly patted Cori on the shoulder. "I realize that. I have apologized multiple times for the many times I have caused you problems. I have even tried to rectify my mistakes, making it up to you somehow. With dinner, with info, with results."

Kieran crossed his arms. "I realize you cant trust me, and I havent done much to keep your trust, but I am not someone in the position to gain and keep the kind of trust you want. Not with my job. Not the kind of trust you want from me. I am not one o the sheeple you are in charge of. Oh wait, to atone I am one. And yes I litterally agreed to do this make it up to you. To prove I am some you can trust."

Kieran sighed. "Well if I can make it back alive from this stupid job, I will text you ok......Cori? Then we can..... I dont know...talk. If you want. I could make dinner again or something."

Kieran turned around and started walking away again.

Cori tensed and blinked as he patted her arm, and she watched him as he spoke. The tension was still there even as he ended, and she swallowed, mind searching for the words. Explaining her feelings and apologizing was difficult enough, and she found herself at a loss after his response. And he was suddenly walking away. She had offered help, but she didn't want to insist on his business, so she just slowly nodded. "You'll come back," she said, maybe assuring herself more than him, though the words were suddenly casual, cool. "It's why we hired you."

Cori couldnt see it, but Kieran smiled as he walked away hearing what Cori said.
