Chrys sighs... He closes his eyes. This is something he needs to do. "Well... If you think it'll help me get stronger..." He takes a deep breath. "Besides... I have more control over myself now than I did as a kid..." He looks at Caldwell. "Let's do this." If he gets rid of this limiter... What would his power become... He'd have to be ready to tackle this thing head on.... The objects that seem fuzzy sharpen and Caldwell can swear a small buzzing came from them too. Chrys just has a face full of determination. No fear is present in the man's eyes, nor is there hesitancy.

Ooooh. That made a bit more sense, assisting from the background. “Oh. Yeah, my power does do that. That sounds fine to me, then. I’d be glad to be of assistance. Though would it be possible to sort of keep my powers… unspecified? At least until I can control them unaided.” She was sure that, with a telepaths assistance, she’d be a bit less at the mercy of the randomness of her dreams, but she’d rather leave it under wraps just until she could control it. Who knew how other students would take to her abilities?

“Where’s the rest of the team now? Will I be meeting them soon?” she asked. It’d be nice to meet the other people that’d be working with her. “Oh, and when should I come back here for my first training session? The sooner the better, I’d say.” Now that she would be in a team, she wanted to press for training as fast as possible, so that on a mission she wouldn’t need to be shadowed by two people in order to do anything.

Nate splits, heading to Mr Macoy's class and Ms Darkholms. Time to nip this training in the bud early. If all went well within a year or two Nate would be able to attend a third class. As both Nate's walked away from each other they paused as a though struck them. Focusing on their hands, they caused the light to bend, making their hands seem to disappear. They each stepped to a window and angled their hands to catch the sunlight streaming inside. As the beams passed over their hands they cupped their hands, making a kind of lens, focusing two beams of light. Next they angled the beams at each other, bending more light around themselves. As the opposing beams hit each field they concentrated to cause a mirror effect, reflecting the beams back and fourth between both Nate's, intensifying the heat from the sunlight every time each beam hit the fields. As they did this they closed the distance between themselves, converging on a single open window, causing another field to appear around their light show, sealing off the intense beams of energy in what looks to be one large laser. They then focus the energy, compacting it to a bubble between their hands. Glancing outside for a target they see a dead tree and let loose, pushing their hands together, angling their bodies to each has half a circle. The beam slices strait through the trunk of the tree, burning a neat hole strait through and ending in the dirt beyond.
"Perfect shot." Nate says patting Nate on the shoulder.
"Too bad Shawn wasn't here, they power we could have built for him." Nate replies. They turn and head to their classes.

Heidi cracked a shy little smile hearing Shawn talk about the group, and her role in it. "Yes, next time, we'll hopefully know more about what we're going into, and we'll also try and prepare ourselves for another visit from the radioactive man. That shouldn't be for a while, though. We all need to recover."

There was a small silence that lasted an eternity to Heidi's mind, before she spoke up again, quite quickly, as if the words couldn't heave her moth fast enough. "So how are you feeling?"

Rose Mary was startled by the man she hadn't seen him there. "Who I am is up for debate at the moment. I currently go by Rose Mary, but it is no longer really suitable to who I want to be, it belongs to who I was, who I don't want to be anymore. That is an interesting way to label your stuff. Do you teach mechanics? Why would I want an autograph?" She thought he was insane. Intentionally damaging a piece of beauty like that should be a crime. She liked the word bub though. "What does bub mean? I like the sound of it." She felt like what she had to say was the right thing to ask, but she was nervous. "Need any help?" She wasn't sure what help she could provide.

Tatiana wasn't sitting on the edge of her seat like she was. She felt the need to eliminate the demon that haunted her nightmares come to life in the form of the drama teacher. It felt like her nightmare demon was mocking her. She put on an act like his being there didn't bother her. She already knew the language of vampires, it is her native language. She doesn't use it much verbally. All of her class notes are written in it. She learned English as a second language. Learning languages was a necessity, she knew, so she wasn't put off by it. She wondered if they would have to learn the language of computers.

"It'll take time. Luckily, I don't think that this operation will require anesthesia. On the downside. You will be quite bored." And he got to work, playing with ideas in his mind on how to flush the limiter out safely. Whatever it truly was would be a good thing for both he and Forge to study as some point.

Emma and Booker nodded to the request about keeping her powers a secret for now. However, they did need to think of a replacement power so that people would be less inclined to ask her about it.

"As for the team, you'll be meeting them later today, after school hours." Booker began to explain to Bonny. "The team is still new. Everyone's still shaping up, so don't worry about being behind or anything." He wanted to try and ease her worries, at least for a little. "You'll be called when we're ready to train. Any other questions?"

"As good as I can be, I guess. Doc Clement was saying something about his biotic healing...? I can't remember. Anywho, I jumped ship so that he could put more focus onto Chrys. I can still walk, talk, and fight, there's no reason to hang over me when there are people with more serious injuries." He took a look back down the hallway that led to the medical bay. Shawn wouldn't have taken the day to stay in bed anyways. There were things to do like school and training. He probably needed to look over his armor again. Maybe this time he's let Forge play around with it, but there were places that Shanw needed to be.

Shawn began with a step, heading further down the hallway so he could get back to his room to grab his books and things. A quick glance at the clock made him sigh in relief. The school's schedule was pretty flexible. He didn't have anything for first period. Most didn't. As much as he loved training, first period classes were more advanced, dedicated to fine tuning already razor sharp skills like infiltration or espionage. Normally Shawn used this period for a light workout.

"So, where's your second class?" He asked Heidi, not exactly remembering where she went next. He had Philosophy with Dr. McCoy, then Mathematics, Science, P.E., Lunch, American History, Language, then another free period at the library to finish his school day off.

Logan didn't say or do anything, but it was somewhat refreshing to see that someone didn't know who he was. He was glad that he wasn't the only one like that sometimes. "Bub," He said again. "Pal, amigo." He said it in that slightly threatening way that action movie stars would spout oneliners. "Uh... Dude." He didn't really like saying it, but that was some of this shit kids said, she'd probably get that.

"Too hot to touch the important parts, you'll burn your fingers off. Just a few things here and there I need to touch up on." Logan wasn't one for company. It was his half-assed way of trying to get her to shoo off. "And no, I don't teach. They say I've been around a long time, but I don't remember most of it." He extended a single claw to dig into the heart of the engine, the knife-like extremity scraping against something he couldn't see. He retracted the claw and set down a wrench. He took a good look at it, then at a socket. He had the wrong size.

"Yeah, go get me the socket one size up from this. Make yourself useful while you're here." He tossed her the little socket piece from the wrench and went to examine the other side of the motorcycle.

"Tatiana." Sage said rather suddenly, quickly moving out of her lesson to look at Tatiana. Even if Dhampir was her codename, Sage didn't enjoy using it. It felt rather racist in some way, addressing someone by their race. "You are now a a wealthy businesswoman on an unwanted trip to Genosha. You wish to free as many mutants as you can by tricking Sir Bane Marshall into a trade in your favor." Sage motioned to Kurt, who bowed with a smile to Tatiana. He wore almost the exact same outfit as the day before, as if his wardrobe was filled with eight or nine sets to wear when relaxing or teaching.

Chrys sat there, eyes closed as Caldwell worked. He had mixed feelings about all of this, but he knew he was in good hands. He would get rid of this thing, and finally be able to fully develop his powers... Something he was eager to do. His power was something he never truly understood. It felt incomplete. As if it had been halted in the very beginning at the first step. But he would learn, he had to in order to get stronger. In order to avenge himself.

Layered in with the bone marrow was a clear substance. Around this area was extremely damaged tissue that was regenerating at an accelerated rate. It was obvious that the substance was the "limiter". And to take it out was going to require a lot of concentration, though when he started, it was easily gotten rid of. The whole process took several hours, and Chrys simply let himself fall asleep during it, as a side effect was a slight fever that broke relatively quickly.

"Just because there are people in greater need of medical attention than you doesn't mean you're not in need. You should check back in at the end of the day once all your classes are finished, unless you get any serious headaches. Then go right away. In fact, I want you to promise me you'll do that."

Heidi didn't even notice that she was acting like a concerned mother towards Shawn. She was just giving practical advice that she strongly wanted to give. To her mind, a careful, analytical approach was natural, so in a way, she was too short sighted and socially inept to see anything unusual about this worrisome doting of her classmate.

She saw him look at the clock and deduced that he was thinking about second period, which was coming up soon. None of the first period classes would benefit Heidi. In fact, she'd stand out in them and people would think she was showing off just by doing her best. The prospect of toning down an important field skill just to fit in didn't exactly enthral Heidi either. Bringing forth from her memory the timetables for her class, she compared hers with Shawns. "We're in the same class next. I have Philosophy, then a break, then Foreign Languages, then P.E., then American History, then a break, then Music." Heidi didn't take mathematics or science at this school, but instead used one of her breaks a day working on her online Bachelor's Degree in Bio-Engineering.

“Not really, no. That takes care of all that I can think of right now, and more’ll probably come up later when I think of em. Or something.” It was relieving to know that she wasn’t leagues behind in terms of skills, at least in the area of controlling abilities. She wouldn’t be able to practice in front of them though, until she was comfortable using her powers at all. She'd use and train them more on the side, she imagined. Ah well, whatever happened would happen. Worrying and running hypotheticals and plans really wouldn’t change it. She took a quick glance at the clock, finding that first period was just starting. In honesty, she had no real… prerequisite skills needed for any of the courses, so she decided against taking any. She’d only fumble behind, and since she transferred from another country only a day ago she was already behind enough. “Welp, I should be off. Thank you again for the time, and I’ll come bug you if I get lost or have no idea what’s going on in the classes.” She gave a casual wave to say goodbye before dismissing herself from the office.

When she left, she unfurled the schedule that she had shoved in her pocket earlier. She had to do a double take on it, just to make sure it was right. There were eight course slots instead of four, but with two breaks and six courses. It was far different from her five slot, one lunch and four class semester back home. One more lunch, and two more courses. Looking over the courses, she realized just how doomed she was. School was never a strong point to her, and managing at a decent level at a school she was familiar in meant she’d be suffering trying to figure out these new courses. Who knew what stuff they were learning her in comparison to back home? She more or less took whatever she thought she needed and could handle, leading to nothing in first period, History, then Math, then Business, a period off to try catching up, then Science, Languages, and ending on music. She had tried taking courses she wouldn’t be drowning in, hence avoiding tech sciences and business stuff, but she still got stuck with basic maths and sciences. Not to mention History; it was one of the few courses she was decent in, but she’d have to learn american history. What she had learned previously was rather eurocentric. The only thing she was slightly confident in was music, and that’s because it didn’t require a formula and she was pretty good at it.

“Well” she said, lifting her plush toy up to eye level. “It’s just you and me. Howzabout we go grab something to eat this period and then try to survive learning all of American history in one period?”. She got no actual response, as expected, but she imagined her toy would be encouraging in his own way. The fox was always supporting people behind its tricky exterior in her dreams. She tucked the paper back in her pocket and her fox back under her arm. She had no idea where the cafeteria was, if there was one, but she had a whole period to find it. She’d be fine.

"You don't have to worry about me burning anything off, my power prevents me from harm. When I used to live on the street instead of freezing to death I became fire. Though if there is no danger of death would it protect me?" She pondered intentionally touching the hot part on purpose. "Not worth it."

She caught the socket and examined the size. She found the size he requested and tossed it back at him. "You have memory loss. I wish I had that. As long as it didn't erase my mom. Do you ever wonder if not remembering is better than remembering? Though I guess the only real way to know is to not know and then to know, but by then it's to late if you would rather not know." She liked his claw. "How many of those claws do you have? Kind of sexy, painful looking. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong but if the claw is a part of you then there is nothing wrong when it comes out so it shouldn't be painful, kind of odd if you ask me." She began wondering if she could reproduce the claws like she turned her fingers into daggers back at the bank. She was going to have to try that, obviously it wouldn't be as good as his she suspected.

Tatiana liked Sage, one of her favorite teachers not to mention she was easy on the eyes, but right now she wanted to stab her. She knew Sage didn't know about the nightmare demon but that didn't stop the stabby feeling. Tatiana stood up, she took on the appearance of a woman in her early thirties, switched to an elegant dress suitable for business, three inch stilletos, and a pretty smile with the illusion of blood red lipstick. She adopted the accent of a German woman. "Sir Marshall it's been too long since our last encounter. How are the kids? Is Alex still the captain of the football team? Did Michelle get into Oxford like she was hoping? I was hoping you could help me with a little problem I am having." She flirtatiously touched his arm and did a hair flip. "Shall we discuss this over dinner and drinks?" The entire time she was smiling putting on a show but the hand she wasn't using to flirt with she was digging her fingernails into her palm, drawing blood. She kept that hand turned away from Nightcrawler and Sage so that they couldn't see.

"Fine, fine." Shawn cracked a smile and faced Heidi, his right hand raised. "Scouts honor. I'll check in with the doc later." Her attitude towards his seemed almost familiar, but Shawn couldn't place a face. It was definitely motherly, and Shawn could remember his own mother, but it was the little details that escaped him. Refusing to worry about that, he continued on.

He didn't realize how many classes she and him shared. Maybe it was because he was normally too busy with school and training to really forge bonds with people, maybe it was just his forgetful self not realizing that he saw many faces in more than one class during the day.

His eyes glanced at another clock. They were good on time. The period bell wouldn't ring for another ten minutes. More than enough time to get to class and get settled.

Shawn hadn't spoken to Dr. McCoy since class the day before. Philosophy wasn't Shawn's favorite class, but it was a class that he had to take to fill time and get credits, so he put in maximum effort into it like he did everything else.

Booker and Emma waved Bonny off. It was only afterwards that they spoke once more.

"For a man who plans so far ahead to induct students into his team who just got here..." Emma drifted off, remembering the events of the day before.

"We're lucky everyone survived in one peace. We all made mistakes that day, and we're all learning from them. But I do think that Bonny will be a good help. She's not leader material, I don't think she sees it in herself, but either someone will stand up, or they'll put it to a vote. We're the safety net." Booker felt like he needed to remind Emma of everything. Surely one broken egg would teach them what not to do. When they finally set out on Emma's personal request, they should be a fully functional team.

Emma laughed softly. "And Remy flew her here?" Glancing at Bonny's mind, she got the events from the day before. "You're a strange man. Maybe you should be spymaster instead of Sage."

Remembering certain faces and events when you forget all else is a pain that Logan knew. He didn't say anything about it, letting the girl ramble on, but He did remember those faces, the blood, all of the deaths that he caused. He knew all the little details of those events, forwards and backwards.

His claws? For a second, he extended them fully before retracting them. As always, he felt a little something, but the pain had long since been numbed to his mind.

"You're gonna wanna see Jean." He looked at Rosemary again. "Your mutation's all subconscious. But you can bring that stuff to the front of your mind with some training." He remembered Raven telling him and the others about Darwin, another mutant with an adaptation mutation.

He was about to say something else, but the sound of another motorcycle could be heard in the distance. Whoever they were, they were moving awful fast in a school zone. Logan didn't pay them any mind, even when they arrived.

The motorcycle looked a lot like Logan's, but in better condition, and lacking the claw marks on the side. It's rider, who had stepped off the bike, removed their helmet to reveal a head of long black hair, paired with aged and cold eyes.

She took a look at Logan, obviously wanting to say something to him or ask him, but she went on inside without a word. She only gave a glance to Rosemary. The teen was no one she remembered.

Sage loved her future tech. From her glasses, she could monitor the classroom. Everything about Tatiana's posture and speaking was correct, even so good to force Kurt into taking a minute to prepare something himself. However, when the time came for him to speak, the bell rang, alerting the students that the period was now over.

"Good job, Tatiana. You'll do excellent in the field one day." She spoke to the dhampir directly before addressing the class. "No Homeowrkd for today. Just go over everything in class. Tomorrow will be dedicated to acting."

Rose Mary shuddered at the thought of talking to Jean. "There are way to many telepaths here. They are beyond creepy. I feel like I have to be on my guard at all times with them around and even when they are not around, never know when one might be in range but not visible. If there is something subconcious I forgotten or suppresed it's probably worse than the stuff I do remember which is mostly horrible, except recent events." Rose Mary noticed the new motorcyclist. "Who is that? If I wasn't here she probably would have stayed. Should I leave and let the two of you talk?"

"This isn't the first time, I used to imitate my queen all the time as a security feature. You wouldn't believe how happy she was when we learned I could do that." She massaged her hand where she was digging her nails into it." She was glad to turn away from the demon. "Just curious how often does one use sex to acquire their goals as an X-Man?"

Bonny, in her time before heading to class, ate breakfast, found the rooms her classes were in, and, when finding she still had a good bit of time left, headed back to her room. She did kind of leave it as a massive mess, after all. May as well tidy it up in her free time. She spent the next while putting plush toys back where they belonged, tidying up and unloading her clothes and supplies, and brushing her teeth from breakfast. Just prepping for the long day ahead of her. She had also realized, at some point, her grandmother was smart enough to sneak some simple school supplies into her luggage. When, she had no idea, but there was a bag for carrying books, some lined paper, a pencil, eraser, and four small binders. Her grandmother must have assumed they had a four class system and not six, like back home. Oh well. She’d stick two subjects to a binder, no biggie. She checked the clock just as she finished putting her supplies together in the bag, and her eyes widened in shock. Two minutes to the first bell.

She slung her bag over her shoulder, grabbed her fox and was out of her room in a heartbeat. She’d still make it if she hurried, she knew where the class was. She made her way down familiar halls, sped up a little in panic when the first bell went off, and barely made it to her first (er, second, technically) class of the day. History. It was a little nerve wracking, being a new kid in a new school in a new country, and she hesitated at the door for a moment. She squeezed her plush a little tighter, took a few deep breaths to steady herself, and went into the classroom.

None of the faces were familiar to her, and it looked as if a good chunk of the class had already settled into the room. She took an open seat near the door, opened her binder and grabbed some lined paper. Her plush rested on her lap. She’d keep up with whatever was taught that day, and ask for extra help in catching up after class. She looked at some of the people around her before turning her attention back to the paper in front of her. Alright, let’s do this.

As Chrys slept, he dreamt of a box, surrounded by stars in a black void. He stood up, finding himself sitting down and looked all around the area. There was nothing but the glow of the black box surrounded by stars. He took a step towards, yet found it moved a step away. So he tried running, jumping even shifting himself, but it only got farther each time. Scowling, Chrys stands there, looking at the box and thinking of how he could get to it...

Meanwhile, in the area around Chrys outside his dream, the outlines of everything he touches blurs, and the space around him distorts, a low almost inaudible hum coming from the affected area. electrical monitors flicker, as the distortion field pulsates softly, linked directly to Chrys' heartbeat.

In the dream, Chrys sits down and sighs. "How do I get there... It just flees when I get close... Like it doesn't want me to get to it... Hmm..." Looking at the box, he takes a step back. It takes one towards him. Taking a step forward sees the box moving back. Frustrated Chrys holds out a hand, trying to grab the box with his power and force it to him, to no effect. Anger starts to creep in as he keeps trying, until the box just vanishes, starts slowly winking out until there is nothing left but darkness. But he can hear a strange beeping noise, urgent and insistent... Almost like an alarm is going off...

"Hell if I know. I don't know everyone who walks into the mansion doors." Logan shrugged after a rather brief pause. "That's Summers' job." He had no idea who she was, but the motorcyclist seemed to know a lot about him. That look, one he had seen before, was one of history. Maybe she was just another face he forgot.

He brought himself back to her other topic of conversation. "What do you have to hide? We all die every now and then, and there's hardly a soul over eighteen in this place that hasn't taken a life before. Is Jean gonna find out you have a soft spot for kittens or something?"

Danielle Moonstar had just watched her first period class leave as Bonny entered the room. She greeted the young woman with a smile, sitting at her plain desk, a few small mementos from her home. "Good morning!" Her voice rang out in the rather quiet classroom. Miss Moonstar was just one of those people who could get you to spill your secrets in only a few moments. However, she seemed rather jolly today, something that never spelled good fortune for the class. "You must be one of the new students. We just started on the establishment of the United States in America. Everything we've gone over is in this packet. Look over it if you'd like, there's nothing against you if you don't do it."

She pointed to a little packet of papers at the edge of her desk, filled with the notes of the past units about early American history.

"Now, picking up where we left off, who remembers the original location of the White House, and how it was used before the big move to DC?"

"Good morning, everyone." Hank McCoy greeted his students as he did every day, looking at them one by one. "I hope your projects are all going tell so far, remember. The Philosophy in film assignment will be due the week before winter break starts."

That was right, Shawn reminded himself. Hank had set them up with an assignment that he believed would be grasping. The project was to pick out a film and study it, seeing what kind of philosophical tropes were used and how they are used effectively to push the movie forward. It wasn't too challenging of a task, but Shawn did get bored of watching The Terminator again and again. He practically knew all of the lines at this point.

Shawn looked over to Heidi. He wondered what kind of movie she was studying for the assignment, if she even had to at all with her computer brain. Maybe she just watched a movie the first time and could list all of the things that happened and what they allude to.

Nate sit's in his two classes absorbing the subjects like a sponge. In the back of both of his minds he contemplates the team. "Do I really want off? If we could become a tight nit group then there is nothing we couldn't achieve. If I weren't there when they needed me, how bad would that scar me in the long run." On and on these thought's flashed through the back of Nate's mind. When he pulled together tonight he would have to have a serious sit down with Shawn and the rest. Something needed to be done and if he was correct then they would need all the training of a military unit.

Shawn's suspicions about Heidi were completely correct. She had already finished her project two days after receiving it, writing about 'The King's Speech', a movie she had seen only once, at the cinema when it came out, and had never seen since. She had a soft spot for that movie because she also had problems with public speaking, but for different reasons. Heidi hadn't handed in her project, though. She hated doing things that drew attention to herself in a social environment, because every time she did so, a wave of jealous students used to accuse her of showing off or flaunting her intelligence. So she had taken to, well, not exactly hiding it, because everybody knew she was super smart, but just never showing it in a class environment. Missions were another story. Partly because there were no longer any social boundaries of the academy, and partly because she wasn't nearly as smart when she was stressed and scared. In fact she wished she could be smarter in those situations.

She noticed Shawn was looking at her. Should she make conversation? But it's the middle of class, but she couldn't just ignore him, could she? But if she did respond to him and got noticed, that would be embarrassing...She decided to do nothing for now. Maybe there would be an opportunity later in the class where she could talk.

As Chrys wakes he notices that the area around him seems to pulsate, attuned to his heartbeat. He swallows, noticing that the monitor is going haywire, but it seems only he can hear it... as the world seems muted. When he notes this, the field snaps back causing him to lose his breath momentarily. "Ugh..." He lays back down, a sudden migraine taking hold. "What was that... Is this my mutation?... It's never done that before..." He rubs his temple and attempts to sit back up, but immediately throws up, the sudden nausea wracking through his body. Whatever it was, it wasn't going over well with his body... He seemed to be suffering from something. "Hey Doc!" He winces as his own voice rings in his head, the pain becoming too much as he passes out yet again, the blackness around the edges of his vision coming together.

"I am sure that all my sins are already known to those in charge of this place. It's not about what I have to hide but the right to be able to hide it if I wanted to. Those that can see, read thoughts are the personification of big brother government. I don't trust the government or those that are the personification of it."

After leaving her previous class. Tatiana proceeded to her French class. She didn't care for the language at all, to flowery. Sometimes speaking it made her want to puke, reminded her of sappy romantic movies absolutely god awful. But it might come in useful.

Oh! She’d forgotten to go up and say hello to the teacher. She was so absorbed in just taking notes and getting what she could that she hadn’t even went up to say hi. A mistake she didn’t plan to repeat for later classes. When the teacher said good morning it grabbed her attention, and she took the invitation to go over to the teacher's desk and grab the package of missed work. “Um, thank you, I’ll just… take notes for this class and go over this stuff tonight.” She offered the teacher a smile before going back to her seat as the lesson started. It didn’t look like she’d be able to participate due to her lack of catching up, but she could take notes and play catch up over the next few days. She tucked the package of notes she was given into the front of her binder, and turned back to her notes.

“Who remembers the original location of the White House, and how it was used before the big move to DC?". Bonny only knew that the white house had to do with the government, and nothing about its history. Regardless, no harm in taking a note and then re reading it in context. She scribbled down “White house before DC move” as a sub heading to her notepage. Luckily, someone on the other side of the class seemed to have the answer. “The White house was originally in Philadelphia, and it was used as one of George Washington's three homes”. Bonnys attention went from the speaker to the teacher, waiting to see if it was the right answer.
