Daisuke Kanzaki
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Daisuke strives to be the best at what he does, mostly because he fears being useless and forgotten. Daisuke has a massive inferiority complex, often trying to do complex tasks alone since he wants to prove he is capable, and sinking further into his complex when he inevitably fails. He has little interest in making friends, hardly speaking with his brother with the only people he could talk out of his will are his superiors or seniors since they are in a higher position than him. The two things Daisuke hates with fiery passion are those who take the easy way to do something or manipulate people into doing it for them; for Daisuke, this means that the person doesn't have the resolve nor the strength to solve their problems which mean they are useless.
Backstory: Daisuke was born to a low-income family, and sickly nature didn't help his family already difficult way of living. Not wanting to be a burden to them, he forced himself to do house chores around the neighborhood with the help of his brother with the objective to bring at least enough money to buy their lunch at school. While initially preoccupied with the idea his little brother Taiga managed to convince them, and once they weren't bringing much money to the table, they were proud their sons for doing their best to help. Eventually, with effort and a bit of luck, their situation started to improve, with his parents managing to send both of their sons to a private school.
Daisuke quickly began to rise in the top of the school academically speaking, managing to obtain a 90% scholarship. Daisuke pulled all-nighters, hours and hours into studying to be able to earn a scholarship. Which made him kind of pissed with his little brother, since he failed subjects kept putting off homework to watch TV and when he was in the mood to do it, Daisuke had to help him in the parts that he didn't understand, wasting time that could be spent studying. Decided to teach him how to be a responsible student, Daisuke arrived home expecting only his brother to be there; instead, he found him with two other men watching TV.
Upon asking the two of them, what the hell was they doing in his house and what did his brother did, they gave him a quick explanation of what channelers were and what did this mean for his brother who just recently awakened his ability. Daisuke waited a few moments for the men to show him the hidden camera. The fact that his scaredy cat, harmless and lazy brother had achieved something so amazing by pure chance bothered him to no end. It was not something he could blame him for, so he bottled his feelings to himself and gave a half-assed goodbye to his brother as he went to the institution.
Daisuke would spend the next three years trying to find a way to be a channeler, through physical training, using “verified” methods to awaken one's aura or chakras, and other unsuccessful methods. A growing feeling of desperation and defeat grew on him as his attempts failed, Daisuke had to prove that he was able to become a channeler with his will and effort and not by chance. His power would manifest after a very stressful day, where he was mugged and beaten up on his way home to top it off, the feelings of rage and impotence against them manifested as an armor suit with a strange kind of brass knuckle as its weapon. The armor gave him enough strength to be able to stand up against the now surprised muggers which he knocked out without much effort.
Know that he had awakened his power, Daisuke knew that the men from the institute would come for him and his brother would probably be there. Not wanting to lag behind his brother, who would have likely mastered whatever power he had; Daisuke decided to practice his ability in the little time he had before they took him away. Trying to summon his armor Daisuke only managed to summon it for a short period before exhausting himself, since summoning the armor at once tired him out he tried to do it bit by bit, which proved impossible as the rest began forming immediately. The only thing he could make independently of the armor was its weapon; the strange brass knuckle that apparently served as its primary weapon.
Deciding to make do with his current limitations, Daisuke began to practice with the brass knuckles learning that he could store his energy in them to release it later. His parents were as overjoyed to find out that their two sons were channelers as the men who went to pick him up were surprised.
Appearance:
Equipment: Cellphone
Abilities: As a model student, Daisuke is very knowledgeable in regular school subjects. He is also in good shape, thought nothing superhuman. He is capable of thinking of strategies on the fly, although he tends to underestimate his capabilities and overestimate his enemies.
Channeller Category: Architect
Description of power:
Paladin Armor: Much like architects Daisuke can create something from nothing, albeit in a more limited way. Once he concentrates he can create a set of armor from scratch, the armor boosts his physical ability depending on how much energy he gives to it. Using the armor is a problem for Daisuke as it requires a lot of energy to prevent it from disappearing, energy Daisuke doesn't have, so it ends up dissipating fairly quickly. The only thing he can use without these restrictions is the
primary weapon of the suit, apart from being a conventional blunt weapon it stores the energy that Daisuke gives it and is capable of releasing it in energy blasts.
Names/descriptions of moves:
Rise up: Upon saying this, Daisuke is covered in a flash of light for a brief moment as his armor surrounds him.
Fist On: Raising his fist into the air, he summons his weapon by saying the name of the move, then a flash of light appears on his fist before revealing the knuckle.
Critical Strike: By pressing his fist against the person or object he wants to attack, and releases all the energy he has stored on his weapon. This can range from merely doing as much damage as a small firecracker, and a bomb explosion thought he still has to deal with recoil and collateral damage, so Daisuke tries not to do the latter too much.
[NOT LEARNED]
Exceed Charge: This is a ranged version of "critical strike" with the energy stored becoming small blue and quick energy projectiles or a big (basketball sized) red and slightly slower ball.
Leap Hand: By releasing his energy into the air in a particular direction he uses the recoil to propel himself in the direction contrary where he released the energy.
Absorb: By reversing the process in which he shoots out his energy balls, he can absorb other energy based constructs or attacks, though the process is not an easy one as he does the equivalent of swimming against a water stream. Combined with the fact that he has to be in close range to absorb the attack Daisuke doesn't consider to use it unless he is certainly sure it is going to work to his favor or he has no option left.
*There is one more move I want to add.
