I know it might be dangerous as I have not played Deathwatch but I think I will go with the assault marine. I can hang out with our resident Space Wolf and mock the Ultramarine.

Also we need to choose a leader don't we? Now logically I would pick an Ultramarine for leader, but being a Black Templar I vote for the Space Wolf on the grounds that it will annoy the Ultramarine and Space Wolves are also a non-codex chapter.

Im surprised your not voting for yourself on grounds of piety.

That and I don't think any space marine chapters are that petty. Even the Dark angels and space wolves will work together and make decisions for the best outcome for the Imperium. At least until the fighting is done

Compared to how some SM chapters interact this is not that bad. The Minotaurs and the Space Wolves or Salamanders are a good example.

True space wolves have a history. Though the bulk of those disagreements were made after all the heretics were dead.

Omega- looks good! Just please repost in IC to keep the structure going. Once it is in IC, you get +100xp for being the First to Fight (1st PC to 100% Completion of DM tasks) Congrats! Save your xp, don't spend it yet.

Ollumhammersong- I have been PMing a few people, we will probably have some more players in a day or so. I knew it might take a little while to get this going, that's why the official start date is still a little ways out. I'm sure we'll drum up a few more people.

You don't need to worry about Squad Leaders....you haven't even gone through Deathwatch basic training yet!
Squad Leaders wills be decided before deployment on actual missions, before Oath taking and requisition.

Also, the SW/DA rivalry at times has been described as a competitive brotherly rivalry and at others as borderline hatred. It really depends on your interactions with the Chapter before. It'll be interesting to see how the layers of that RP develops.

Ah, i wanted to make sure it was still okay with you. I at first was going to rewrite it with a more traditional Black Templar prep feel but then thought about how Black Templars generally do not send their usual brothers to the Deathwatch since the usual brother of the Black Templars is bad at interacting with anyone less pious than a Sister of Battle and tend to kill psykers on sight rather than potentially capture or work beside them.

You can change it if you want, I think it's great.

I will be addressing many Battle-Brothers about their combat doctrines and previous prejudices in my next IC post. As well as giving you all some IC meta game info on why things are the way they and how it all works.
You will have an opportunity for RP reactions to this, and maybe some skill checks as well. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Also remember, despite what you may think/feel, once you leave your Chapter for Deathwatch you have accepted the leadership of the Deathwatch Command. You know that it's not just your honor at stake, but the reputation of the entire Chapter.
That doesn't mean you have to like it, though you are aware things are going to be different from now on.

And I was wrong, Omega, finish your Character Sheet and move your IC, then you are First to Fight! Someone could still snake it from ya at this point...

Omega - I have a few ideas for Power Armour History, but for now we are going to leave that alone until this plays out.
Cloud3514 - I saw you added your Stats, I have a post coming up about completion of Character Creation, but you are APPROVED for IC posting! Looking forward to seeing what you've been working on!
Ollumhammersong - it seems you are the only one without a CS, no rush, we don't offically start for awhile BUT if everyone finishes sheets and IC before then we can really begin...

EVERYONE- I have a massive post incoming about...EVERYTHING! It will have what to do to complete you character creation. It has a list of everyones starting skills, actions and gear. It has an outline on how we are going to make this tabletop to forum work. This is important for everyone to real, but it will be VITAL for those of you who have never played this game system before. Keep an eyeout, some version will be posted before I crash for the night.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
This post will develop over time. It will include explanation of rules/procedures, expand upon gameplay ((as we encounter issues)) and add information to OOC questions.
DM: Uncle Mayhem – Forum/Gameplay Structure, Campaign, NPCs, Enemies
Co-DM: Arsefacetheugly – Deathwatch Tabletop Rules

HOW DO WE PLAY?
1. Complete the 15 Step Registration & Character Creation process that is outlined below.
2. Get Character Sheet Approved by DM, party members joining later may need an Introductory RP story before joining main IC posts.
3. At its simplest- The DM will post IC setting a scene or providing a location. These will be episodic and numbered.
At the end of some the IC paragraphs/sentences may be a numbered bracket, like this. ((#1))
This number will be found on a coinciding DM OOC post with instructions from the DM. These could be any number of things…Skill Checks, Initiative, Combat or just an idea I would like to see you expand upon through RP.
PCs then respond through a combination of OOC/IC Posting. More on this will beexplained below as this all develops.
4. DM IC posts will progress the setting once A.) All PC’s have responded to previous IC, followed any DM instructions and participated in any applicable dice rolls or RP. B.) every other Sunday, whichever happens first.

CHARACTER SHEETS (CS)
1. Register at www.orokos.com
2. Roll Dice, assign starting Stats. ((#10,2d10+30 drop the lowest score))
3. Add Personal & Chapter Demeanor to Character Sheet
4. Add Primarch’s Curse to Character Sheet
5. Each Chapter has bonuses that modify stats, add to Character Sheet!((Note Stat Modifier on CS))
6. Each Class has bonuses that modify stats, add to Character Sheet. ((Note Stat Modifier on CS))
7. Add Movement Ranges to Character Sheet.

8. All Battle-Brothers start with the following Skills Trained. add them to Character Sheet:
Awareness, Cipers (Chapter Runes), Climb, Dodge, Common Lore (Adeptus Astartes, Imperium, War), Concealment, Drive (Ground Vehicles), Intimidate, Literacy, Navigation (Surface), Scholastic Lore (Codex Astartes), Silent Move, Speak Language (High&Low Gothic), Tactics (Choose One), Tracking
ADVANCED SKILLS- Common Lore (Deathwatch), Forbidden Lore (Xenos)

9. All Battle-Brothers start with these Talents, add to Character Sheet:
Ambidextrous, Astartes Weapons Training, Bulging Biceps, Heightened Senses (Hearing, Sight), Killing Strike, Nerves of Steel, Quick Draw, Resistance (Psychic Powers), True Grit, Unarmed Master

10. All Battle-Brothers begin with these Traits, add to Character Sheet:
Unnatural Strength (x2), Unnatural Toughness (x2)

11. All Deathwatch Initiates begin with the following Gear, please add to your Character Sheet:
Astartes Power Armour, Astartes Bolt Pistol, Astartes Combat Knife, Repair Cement x3, Chapter Trapping x1, Chapter Clothes x1, Grey Deathwatch Initiate Jumpsuit x1, Codex/Prayer Book/Dataslate x1
((Class Specific Gear coming through DM IC RP))

12. Every PC gains x1 Chapter Trapping. Chapter Trappings usually have 3 variants that modify stats. Add the Chapter Trapping Name/Type to Character Sheet, apply stat modifier and add a short note. If you do not know what your Chapter Trapping is, PM the DM.

Example: CHAPTER TRAPPING- Cingulum, Adamantine Inlays ((+3 Parry Tests))

13. If you did not include a RP description of your PAST EVENT, in your PROLOGUE Post, you may choose if you have access to Source Material, if not, Roll ((1d5))

14. Power Armour History. For now, ignore this step.
((Class Specific Gear coming through DM IC RP))

15. If you have access to the Source Materials, go ahead and spend your Starting Creation XP as you see fit. If you do not, PM DM to complete Character Creation.

*Updated 3/10/14*
IT’S MY TURN, WHAT CAN I DO?
((This section will surely evolve and expand over time.))

1.Respond to any/all OOC numbered tags ((#1)).

When creating any IC post you MAY NOT!:
2. Create any dialogue for other Player Characters, NPCs and/or Enemies.
((Unless DM notes otherwise, this is somewhat dependent on dice rolls. More later.))
3. Create any actions/reactions/movements/encounters ect for other Player Characters, NPCs and/or Enemies.
((See above^))

YOU MAY-
4. Monologue internal dialogue, thoughts, reactions on presented DM IC material. Explanations on how you spend your times alone, reflections on past events ((posts)). Just make sure your timeline matches the previous posts.
5. Respond to DM Initiated Skill/Stat/Initiative Checks and/or engage in Encounters.
6. Initiate Characteristic Checks, Skill Checks, Encounters as they relate to the environment/characters.
((More on how this all actually works to come))
7. WAIT BEFORE POSTING IC! The DM needs a chance to translate dice rolls and how it impacts the narrative.

For example; you read part of the DM IC and decided you want to make a SKILL TEST:FORBIDDEN LORE:XENOS. If you fail, there isn't a really isn't much to say in addition. However, if you pass with multiple degrees of success you may pull some important informant into the next DM IC post. Sometimes the DM will add it to the DM IC post, at times PCs may be asked to incorporate the information themselves into their IC post.

COMBAT, DICE ROLLS & POSTING
((Work in Progress))
In the first few post we are going to continue on the developing RP with little emphasis on dice rolls. This first post will primarily focusing on simple Checks in order to ensure a (reasonably) and allow for PC response to DM created content.

SOLO vs SQUAD MODE
Until future notice, assume you are always in Solo Mode.
More on this to come.
