Magnus Shane

Magnus was content in the fact that Johnathan so readily and eagerly accepted his orders, as per usual of course. He was a loyal fledgling by far and one of the only ones he trusted to carry out his every wish. Sure, he could tell the boy wanted power. More and more, enough to conquer everything...possibly even himself. But that was also why he kept him and sought to control him. His determination with each and every task, his efficiency, his undying loyalty...he was the perfect soldier. Now he had thought of the possibility he might try and turn on him, after all if he had he wouldn't be the first newblood he had to disembowel to keep the others in line. And if he certainly doubted it'd be the last if he chose to try any kind of attack.

He wasn't entirely sure, nor was he aware those were actually his intentions...but he was always prepared, at-least to some degree, and this was no exception. That said he continued sitting in his home in his comfy 'throne' of sorts, eyes closed with a wide grin on his face as he listened to the destruction outside. "Ahh how perfect...with any luck this small skirmish will be over quickly and the real fun can get started." He said, chuckling lowly to himself as he rose from his seat and walked over to the window. Arms folded behind his back he peered at the destruction, the bodies, the burning buildings...and once he opened said window the smell of it all. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. This....this is what he missed. The screams of humans, the pleas for mercy as they were stricken down, the smell of blood flowing freely. It's just as it was all those centuries ago, as it should of stayed, as it should of always been.

To most of the humans here though he supposed this looked more like a terrorist attack than a supernatural foe...ah well. He didn't care. Terrorists, vampires, crazy assholes with armor and weaponry. No matter what they were known for here so long as the populace were sent a message that was all that mattered. "I do believe I'll get myself a better view.." He muttered, climbing out of the window and leaping down to the grass below. He leaped over the heavy gate and into the street on the other side, soon making his way over to a building and scaling it; using his claws to dig into the brick when there was nothing else to grip onto. Here he would simply start slowly walking along buildings, jumping from vantage point to vantage point, observing the chaos and waiting for a particular point of interest to intervene in and perhaps get a nice meal.

Vladimir

Vladimir was being hunted. He could tell by the amount of footsteps he could hear, but he was not concerned as he could be. He had managed to kill a few vampire soldiers....they didn't seem quite as armored as the other guy. Two swords now slept at his hips and he felt a lot happier having them there.

Vladimir paused and inhaled. A lot of blood rushed to his nose which he was not surprised about, but there was a different scent mixed with it. He recognized it. With haste he ran, a blur to anyone watching. He stopped in the shadows to see what appeared to be an eleven year old with Eloise and a covenant memeber. His head tilted...he couldn't even process what he was watching it was so bizzare.

Vladimir watched for another moment before walking out rather quietly and looking at Eloise. "You look terrible" the other vampire of the covenant...one that was kept in much harsher conditions on his mind. He lightly moved to the eleven year old who by the scent of her was probably not eleven.

"So did you kill my coworkers or did they spontaneously die some other way....and why are you bothering him" he gestured to the man that she was trying to get to drive.

Hank Miller

Hank's day was going from bad to worse to all hell breaking loose. Due to the Covenant's Vampire's abilities, he was functional. He felt like he had been hit by a truck while being hungover and going through constipation all at the same time, but he was still functional. The child vampire went up to Hank grabbing him by the collar as he was standing himself up, she seemed pissed. Hank found this funny. He would be too if he had lost an eye. Eyes were something that Hank found confusing when it came to vampires. Sometimes a good shot there would kill a vampire, other times it would just piss them off.

Even though the small vampire looked young, she acted like a lot of Hank's exes, blaming him for doing his job, saying he sucked at it, and the common question, What is your problem? Hank chuckled at that remark. "You see, I have this issue where I like to piss off anyone and everyone around me. So far it seems to be working." If she was going to kill him, Hank was going to get one good laugh out of it. His revolver was still in his hand, he was ready to use it. Though he knew he may not be able to do much in his current situation. She started ordering Hank to drive the Covenant's car as she was too small and the healer didn't really know what one was. It made Hank wonder what was going on with her end of the world. "Car's not mine. I got here in that." He pointed casually to the recreational vehicle about 50 feet away from the car. "Much more comfortable and it can transport a lot of gear at once. Including more explosives then the even Napoleon could appreciate." He heard the old commander liked cannons.

He looked about at his situation, here lay four dead covenant soldiers, and potentially three now international fugitives. "Fuck my parole officer is going to be pissed." He had a job to do now though, and that was stay alive a little longer. "We can go, but we are taking my ride. These guys travel too light for my liking, and I need to replace most of my gear right now." He started to walk to his mobile weapon's depot when a new figure had came into play now, a man about Hank's height, and with Hank's luck another vampire. There were easy ways to check but most of them involved Hank losing his throat by the end of it.

The another amazing question was asked to Hank. "So did you kill my coworkers or did they spontaneously die some other way." This was something Hank did not have time to properly think of. He would have to bullshit this one on the fly. It would be like high school all over again, only this time he may actually die. "They started it." Was all Hank said at first. Despite him attempting his best to be a professional he went with the first thought that came to mind. "You see, they all seemed drunk. Not sure they were but they acted it. And..." He had to make up something that even in this modern vampire age sounded like bullshit. "They were talking about something that sounded a lot like the holy grail? Seemed odd, they pulled their guns. And they all shot each other." He was going to leave out the part of the custom .357 bullet that is still lodged inside one arm, a ton of buckshot inside another one body, and one having a hole in his head left from a silver .357 hollow point as well. And the partially missing neck in another. Hank's argument wasn't going well in his mind.

Eloise was lying on the ground, dazed and doing her best to heal the hole in her stomach, when a strangely perky voice said something about...muffins, of all things.

Eloise was confused. Obviously, the diminutive vampire knew who she was. Eloise, unfortunately, did not remember her. Granted, she couldn't remember many things anymore (though she did now know the name of one of her children-Victoria). The Covenant's relatively "gentle" treatment had lent itself wonders to Eloise's mental state. Day by day, she was remembering more of the life she had before, though she wasn't sure if she wanted to remember. Remembering hurt too much.

Sometimes, Eloise felt strangely disconnected from reality, knowing that she had once been married to a baker in the English countryside. When she looked in the mirror, she hardly recognized herself-the blisters and bruises and lacerations had healed, yes, but even her abilities couldn't erase the scars. And oh, were there scars-there were burn scars from hot cooking oil all over her body (but especially on her face); slender scars from daggers and knives and jagged scars from horse whips and riding crops. Eloise's hair was not as brittle and colorless as it once was, but it was still pitifully thin. And although she was not frighteningly emaciated anymore, she was not at a "healthy" weight, either. Her hollow cheeks had filled in some, and there were no longer enormous bags under her eyes, but the fact remained that she was rather gaunt (the Covenant had been very, very cautious about giving her any blood at all, to say the least).

The other vampire looked like she was around ten, but she smelled ancient. She grabbed Eloise's head, easily brushing aside the cloth tied tightly over her mouth (though she didn't seem to care about the zip ties around Eloise's wrists or the tracker on her ankle, for the moment) and forcibly opened her mouth before shoving Eloise's fangs into the neck of one of the hunters who had just been killed, ordering her to drink. Eloise was happy to oblige-it was the first time that she had ever tasted human blood, and by god, it was wonderful. As the blood filled her mouth, Eloise dimly registered who it was that she was drinking from.

His name was Lawrence. He had been one of the hunters who had met her at the airport, and though he seemed quiet and nondescript, he had a nasty temper. The first week, Eloise had made the mistake of timidly requesting some blood after she'd fainted for the fifth time from hunger and exhaustion. Lawrence had backhanded her across the face so hard that Eloise had fallen to the ground before coldly informing her that, since she belonged to the Covenant, she would eat when they said she could, sleep when they said she could, and speak when they said she could-and only when they said she could. He'd shocked her then, for good measure, and Eloise had whimpered as silent tears began to leak from her eyes, because she was scared that if she screamed, Lawrence would only hurt her more.

With that thought in mind, Eloise drank even faster.

When all the blood was gone, Eloise wiped her mouth with the fabric of the hoodie covering her shoulder (seeing as her hands were inaccessible) before looking up, slightly bewildered. She felt...full. It was an unusual sensation.

Hank was marching towards a vehicle, while the other vampire looked on with one remaining eye. The missing eye seemed to be...smoking? Eloise looked down at her midsection. Though the hoodie was soaked with blood, the pain was gone.

"M-miss?" She stammered, turning to the parasol-twirling vampire. "Would you like me to-to...." Eloise trailed off, twisting her arms so that her hands were visible, silver sparks playing around her skeletal fingers. The sun beat down on her mercilessly, and Eloise looked at the ground so that her eyes were mostly away from the light.

Just then, Eloise picked up a familiar voice-it was Vladimir, otherwise known as Vlad, a half-vampire, half-werewolf hybrid who was also associated with the Covenant. Eloise had only ever seen him once or twice, though sometimes she picked up snippets of conversation about him. She was honestly surprised that he even recognized her face.

"You look terrible," he said quietly. Eloise looked up, but he was gone before she could reply, asking Hank and the other vampire how the hunters had died. Hank, still marching towards his car, answered Vlad-and every word that came out of his mouth was false, of course. Eloise simply stared at the exchange, wide-eyed but making no comment whatsoever. As a general rule, Eloise did not speak unless spoken to; that was how her sire and her Covenant masters preferred it. Though, Eloise realized with a start, if the Covenant ever found her after this...incident, they would be very displeased. A sliver of fear shot through her, and Eloise glanced away. She was suddenly very, very afraid.

What was going to happen to her?

Pipistrelle's hand clenched into fists, as her teeth gnashed against eachother. She wasn't supposed to waste this much time in the blaste sunlight. Another one- another one of those freaks had appeared. She really was about to lose her wits this time. Fortuna was a cruel goddess, offering her the bountiful chance of eating delicious blueberry confectionery, and on the other hand, pitting her against someone who was trying to act sarcastic, cool and funny.

And failing miserably in each of these regards. Not to mention bothering her. This newcomer seemed strong, as well with a strange smell. He alluded the covenant as coworkers. Few were the outcasts whom, not being human, threw their bunch with the covenant. This must be the so called Vladimir the hybrid Even her own occassional help was only done with the purpose of preserving her benefits and the status quo. The Covenant didn't like her, and she didn't like them. And that was it.

He didn't need to rough up the human male to get her to start the vehicle. Even if it was just one of those modern car-wains she had seen popping up the last century or so. The same design for the same kind of unsavoury vagrants, if you asked her. But would she needed to withstand that cocky fool for the entire voyage? She didn't know.

The fledging was totally worth it, so she eyed at her wistfully for a second, declined her healing offer with a negation, and then addressed the newcomer. "Bad case of stupid. I tried to talk to them, and they decided to discharge their guns against eachother." She pointed to the freshly healed, but still slightly scarred eye. "That's what killed them. I could go into details, as me, and that Miles Gloriosus over there were insofar involved, but I won't. You're rude and, most important, your wit is as sharp as a cobble. That jape was atrocious." She said, putting one of her hands in her hip as she twirled her parasol once more.

O Deus, I think I'm going to pass out at this rate, not good. I need to send this fool on his way. She added, trying her hardest to not stagger despite her vision already narrowing to a tunnel.

"Look, don't you have more important things to worry about? That human is not part of the Covenant. The vampire fledging is practically a slave to them, and I intend to free her so she can delight me with her baking skills. You are no hero, if you want to be one here. Just a plunderer. And you don't have much to plunder here." She said, eyes directly looking at the halfbreed. "Vladimir, the half-blood. I suggest you try and figure out a way to get rid of those military freak vampires in Vance. So, be gone with you."

She added, her back turned to the halfbreed, as she dug up under her skirt. With a flick of the wrist, the binds of Eloise were undone by a throwing knife, and the leg device had been rendered unuseable as the batteries had been pierced by yet another blade.

"Miles, start the car-wain." She indicated Frank, as she offered her hand to the fledging. Another lurch of her vanishing stamina made her tilt forward, a painful expression that she showed to Eloise. Crap. She bit her lip as she struggled to stay on her feet, trying to drag the newly freed vampire into the RV.

I really hope she remembers how to make the muffins, or I will be -really- disappointed. She added to herself.

Tristan continued blazing through the town, going this way and that. Easily avoiding the vampiric patrols that were hunting for humans while Blue and Purple hunted for him. He knew who his targets were and only knew where one of them was. Well...so he thought when he saw Magnus hopping along the rooftops admiring the chaos going on below. Changing direction without missing a beat he was quick to make his way to the local vampire lord. "Enjoying your own handiwork?" Tristan's easily identifiable voice rang out to the smaller man.

A couple of nearly silent steps later and Tristan was towering over Magnus while observing their surroundings. "The idea is nice, the execution nearly perfect." He stated while moving with Magnus, he was never one to make people stand around and talk. "Your Death Troopers however seem overly reliant on your new armor and their fancy weapons." He said while turning his gaze to Magnus. It wasn't his normal maniacal one hellbent on destruction. It was a more deadened one, the eyes of an old veteran. "Who taught them?" He asked, he hadn't been around during that time. He had been out in the Middle East causing havoc.

Covenant central had been identifiably ground zero for the attack. The concentration of fresh vampire soldiers in this area was the most dense, and infiltration was impossible, even for another vampire. Mithias had been stalking, remaining merely observant from the sidelines while the watchful burning eye of god blazed above the town of Vance. He could sense the minds of other sentient beings, allowing him to more easily avoid being found, although it was no guarantee. The psychic airwaves were a cacophony of human fear and lamentation, occasionally lit by the chord of bravery and selflessness. Mithias admired these people.

Yet the focus of his interest provided him with little information. It seemed that the valiant Covenent hunters were being knocked unconscious as their base was breached, and thus their thoughts could not be read. Although he was relieved that they were being kept alive, Mithias was stricken with perplexity at why. Why not slaughter them? This vampire army had gone through the trouble of months or more of silent preparation, gathering resources, weapons, armor, training warriors, spawning fledglings, and even coordinated their attack in the light of day to destroy this Covenant location and take over the entire town, so why not simply kill their foes?

Mithias turned away from the direction of the Covenant base. There was nothing he could do against an army alone. His brow furrowed in perturbance as he began to form a plan. He had to free the human captives, and he had to put an end to this asinine army's advance. An enormous explosion of fire atop one of the roofs nearby caused Mithias to duck quickly behind a corner. Two vampires were fighting, and a trap of some serious design had been triggered. ... he couldn't tell if they were still alive.

Pulling out his phone, Mithais found no response from his Covenant contact, Lucan. Perhaps it was too late. The young man was either dead or potentially one of the captives. A very human pang of grief touched him briefly, passing again like a snowflake upon hitting the dark water of a flowing ice-cold river. If Mithais was ever going to find out what became of any of his distant kin, he'd need help, and the only being he could think of that was left was one hybrid Vladimir. Damn.

Phone secured in a pocket, the vampire moved like a black streak. He knew where the half-wolf had been fighting and it wasn't hard to track him from there. What Mithias didn't expect was the scene that he would find around him. Vladimir, two other female vampires, both weakened, the bodies of several Covenant agents, a car, an RV, and...

"...The vampire fledgling is practically a slave to them, and I intend to free her so she can delight me with her baking skills."

A breeze greeted the small gathering as Mithias stopped short from his run within view. He glanced from the Covenant bodies on the ground to Hank, and instantly knew he didn't like what really happened. With a disapproving expression, he scanned the other vampires to judge their intentions. "It seems vampires are not the only ones who turn on their own."

The other vampire seemed peeved, to say the least, at Vladimir's arrival. She declined Eloise's offer to heal her eye (instead, the eye re-grew on its own), and began snapping at the hybrid.

Eloise stayed silent, unsure of what to make of the situation. Was Vladimir loyal enough to the Covenant that he would be angry that the hunters were dead? Would he accept Hank and the other vampire's explanation, or would he sense that everything they said was bullshit? Most of all, what would Vladimir say about-as the parasol-twirling vampire said it-Eloise being 'freed'?

Speaking of which, Eloise was not sure how she was supposed to feel. On one hand, this ancient vampire was talking about freeing her from the Covenant...and nobody had ever done that before. Nobody had ever cared that much about Eloise, and it...it meant a lot. Sarah, her best friend before she was turned, hadn't even cared that much. She was too scared to do anything, thought Eloise with a touch of sadness. And what could she have done, anyway? Mistress would have killed her in an instant.

On the other hand, Eloise wasn't even sure that she remembered what anything besides blood tasted like, much less how to /make/ something-but hopefully, with some time, she would be able to recall the recipes that she and John had created. Nowadays, random flashes of the past came and went, so with a bit of luck, she would remember. Eloise really, really, really hoped that she would eventually remember. Would her rescuer be angry if she didn't, and treat her the way that her sire and the Covenant had?

Eloise forced herself to stop thinking about it.

Eloise looked on with surprise as the other vampire lifted up her skirt and pulled out two knives. Faster than she could blink, the zip ties that bound her wrists together tightly slipped down to the ground, and there was another blade piercing the tracker-cuff on her ankle. There was a slight hissing noise as the batteries were rendered useless.

The ancient vampire ordered Hank to start the "car-wain" (Eloise wasn't really sure what the vehicle Hank was headed towards was truly called-she had never seen one before, confined as she was in the Covenant's London headquarters before being flown to America), and she held out her hand for Eloise to take-which she did so, gladly. She stumbled forward, wincing, and Eloise did her best to support her weight as the other vampire began pulling Eloise to the "car-wain". Eloise quickly followed along. She wanted to be out of there as fast as possible-who knew, Vladimir might decide that he should act in the Covenant's best interests and attempt to return Eloise to them.

This belief was reinforced with the arrival of another vampire. This one was black-haired and golden-eyed, and he smelled pretty old (though not as old as Eloise's unlikely ally). He seemed to be addressing Hank.

Eloise lowered her eyes meekly and quickened her pace.

Vladimir quirked a brow as Hank spoke. "That sounds a lot like bullshit" He was clearly amused by the story though. He looked back at the bodies of the covenant members with a small head shake. He did not know what happened, but he felt like it was probably better then being rounded up like cattle for slaughter like what was happening now. Conflicting churned in him. He did not hate humans....but they did have a habit of acting out in fear. That usually resulted in brutality. He looked away for a brief moment before looking back at the group, his arms crossing.

Vlad's gaze hit the ancient smelling eleven year old. Cool grey eyes seeming almost like stone. His hand going to his chest as if he was mocking being hurt. "Ouch. Im quite hurt...I was called rude" He shrugged. "Your story also feels false, but considering they are already dead...probably because they did something stupid...im just going to let that one go." His head tilted as he watched her walk. She did not seem to be quite feeling well.

Vladimir kept his eyes on the group before chuckling. "Plunderer...I haven't plundered as you say...for centuries. As for being a hero...Ive never been one" He started to speak when he heard a rush and spun to see Mithias. That was odd...that vampire usually chose to stay away from him. That meant the situation was probably a lot worse then he thought. He ran through the options he was forming in his mind before running around eloise and Pipistrelle. "I think I may need her...so how about we make a deal. She helps me...if you want you can too and then you both can leave. If I'm told to hunt her down ill give her a fair head start" He had never cared for how eloise was treated anyway. The only reason he wasn't treated the same was because he would willingly kill himself....that and he wasnt exactly the best to hold captive.

Vladimir gave a glance to mithias and rather hoped he would go along with it. More eyes and more fighters wouldn't be a bad thing...especially when one could heal people. Perhaps it would even put eloise in good favor so he wouldn't have to hunt her down...not that he would put a lot of effort into that anyway.

Magnus calmly made his way along the rooftops, humming a dark tune as he surveyed the chaos and destruction below. Perhaps he wouldn't of done things with the suits and weapons personally, however he had to admit the methods were quite effective. In the long run all he wanted was results, he didn't exactly care how he achieved them so long as they were relatively what he wanted. He paused briefly to chuckle at Tristan's words and nod, "Of course I am, why wouldn't I?" He replied, glancing towards him.

He continued his course, staying silent as Tristan spoke. Admittedly he had to agree. He counted for resistance but perhaps not quite this much. Ah well...they would ultimately win this bout, though how great of a victory was yet to be seen. "Johnathan trained them and provided the gear. He's proven quite the asset in your absence.." He told him. "Though I do question his methods they're effective." He said with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Perhaps I shall get him to train them more without their weaponry.." He muttered. "Ah well...how was your trip?" He asked, eyes still scanning the battleground.

Tristan smirked a bit when Magnus chuckled and said he did enjoy his plans coming together. As Magnus continued to speak, Tristan listened and nodded his head. "I see. As long as he's being useful." He said then shook his head. "Not just without their weapons. They need to master numerous weapons instead of specializing in just one. I broke Blue's glaive and he ran afterwards." He growled, clearly displeased with that kind of specialization. While he used nothing but blades, a blade was numerous lengths and weights.

When Magnus questioned his trip his normal manic grin reappeared on his face. "It was quite fun. The U.S and the Middle Eastern troops couldn't figure out who or what was killing them while they killed each other. Both sides are far weaker than they planned on being on their return home." He said, clearly happy with that kind of slaughter. One that could easily be hidden as just the products of war. "If another war breaks out I'll be off again to wreak more havoc on the humans." He said, letting Magnus know he wouldn't always be around. After that war this was a vacation for the ancient vampire monster.

"So what comes after Vance? What direction are we going to go in?" He asked while they moved along the rooftops. He was keeping up with Magnus and wasn't even hiding anymore so Blue, Purple, and whoever else had been looking for the giant would surely find him.

Mithias flicked his golden gaze at each of the others before him. The astute could see that he was squinting slightly under the all too short brim of a modern-style man's hat. His black jacket served as a cloak, badly concealing two swords and whatever else he was armed with. He was dressed in a suit with a button-down collared shirt that covered something far more sturdy between it and the vampire's masculine curves beneath.

The human, who was not unknown to him, had clearly become unhinged, his reason having broken under the weight of his escalating paranoia and distrust. Mithias could hold no more hope for the man, for human life had lost its value to him. He had sacrificed his own people, his own meek and mortal kind, those he had sworn to fight to protect, and for what? For a vampire? Perhaps it was out of fear that his power and perceived right to vengeance would be taken away from him? Such irrationality. Mithias realized he himself was no different, except that he had lost his own love for humanity far more quickly. Perhaps there was a connection between them afterall.

The elder vampire, the black-haired woman, appeared to be of some experience, but there was no way for Mithias to tell much about her. She spoke English and bore a nonchalance with a deviated sense of priority that was characteristic of a few hundred years at least, but there was no hint of her loyalties, if she even had any.

Then there was the suffering fledgling. Mithias knew immediately that she had been used, she was far weaker and far easier to read than the other vampires. The Covenant had abused this fledgling. Certainly they would have abused Vladimir had he been weak enough for them to get away with it. It was just the way humans were. Mithias knew well that humans were creatures that took advantage wherever they could. It was only natural for their survival and dominance of the Earth. Once, Mithias had hoped that with age and experience, vampires could learn to overcome such cruelty, but of course, they too were born from humanity. This girl, this Eloise, would logically hate humanity and have no love for Covenant. Perhaps she deserved better than she had been treated, but at least for the moment, she was too weak to cause a problem.

The bloodwolf. Mithias was rightly tense being this close to him, but had watched him long enough to take the gamble. Silently, he admired the perfect facade of aloofness. The dog was habitually slow to act, always running his mouth even in front of the most volatile enemy, with that cheekish accent that was foreign everywhere he went. He had aided Covenant more than once, despite claims that he acted purely in his own self interest every time. Mithias knew better. He had seen the pattern. This was his best shot at an ally.

Regardless of whether Covenant got Eloise back, or if the other vampire woman was in league with the enemy, Mithias cut to the chase. "The vampire army that now harries Vance belongs to an oldblood named Magnus. I am certain that he led them here specifically to take out the Covenant base, and they have. They have taken hundreds of humans captive, including Covenant agents, and I can only imagine what fates await them." Mithias tried to keep his tone even, but the intensity of his emotion slipped past his guard and belied his desperation. He seemed deeply invested in these people for some unknown reason. "Please help me to free these human captives. Magnus will inevitably fail, but these innocent do not deserve to suffer." Perhaps he was in love with one of the abducted prisoners?

Vladimir circled in front of them, saying that he might "need" Eloise. She froze, an expression of pure terror flitting over her features. Eloise tightened her grip on the other vampire's arm, not realizing that her fingers were almost vise-like. Please, no, no, no, she thought desperately, the blood draining from her face. We're so close. So, so, close.

In that moment, Eloise realized how goddamn tired she was of being constantly used, like she was an object or a tool-not a living, breathing being, with a perfectly functioning mind, thank you very much.

"Please," she whispered all but inaudibly, choking on the fear. Vladimir would take her to the Covenant, and the Covenant....the Covenant would hurt her. She began to shake, then, memories of the vampire hunters and her sire alike flooding her mind and meshing into one.

The air was tense as the golden-eyed newcomer surveyed the unlikely group. He was obviously armed-his coat did nothing to conceal the weapons on his person. Eloise listened with mild surprise as he pleaded for Hank, Vladimir, Eloise, and the last vampire to help him save the humans and hunters who had been captured by some oldblood named Magnus. Eloise's mind whirled-so that was why the Covenant was bringing her to Tennessee.

The golden-eyed vampire seemed desperate. I just want to leave, Eloise thought miserably. Does that make me selfish? I suppose it does. Oh, but for the love of god, I don't care...

"Please don't make me go back to them," she whispered, her voice breaking in the middle. If she ever went back to the Covenant, they would treat her like her sire had. Eloise just wanted everything to stop hurting. Was that truly so much to ask?

Pipistrelle looked at the halfbreed with a disgusted scowl, seeing how he had decided to ignore everything she had said, and instead of backing off he had decided to retort back, aggravating the situation by following the duo. He spouted pompous, condescending words. Pipistrelle, far from being convinced by the so-called offer, felt insulted and outraged, and she bit her lower lip, summoning more strength that she could've thought she had.

She didn't even notice how hard had become the grip of the younger vampire along the arm. Her eyes glared at Vladimir, in barely restrained fury. But she didn't budge an inch, her body still walking at the same pace. She even spared a sideglance at Mithias, her expression becoming for the briefest moment somber before shaking her head.

<Varomere, I would have helped you in other circumstances. Blame no one but your rotten comrade in arms> Her mind voice reached the surface of Mithias' mind rather easily, as she employed her vampiric gift almost effortlessly. Returning once more the stare of Vladimir, she scowled.

"Oh, such a generous offer." She added, as she eyed Eloise for a second. "I would be delighted to aid... had you been anything but a black hearted leech mutt, whose savviness amounts to sending a frail fledging to the fires of battle." She spat, her arms firmly latching Eloise as she cast away her umbrella, her pale flesh starting to curl under the sun. "And not even once asking for her opinion in the matter." Pipistrelle stated.

"Negotiations have fallen through. Fare thee well." She said, while grasping the younger vampire against her... abandoning the location and zipping past both Mithias and Vladimir, with the speed of nineteen centuries of unlife.

I am so sick of this. I would rather risk burning myself by running under the sun than tolerate more fools twarthing my recruitment of this baker fledging. She thought to herself, trees and wildlife zooming at her sides like blurry shades.

Hank Miller

It seemed very few were pleased with Hank's actions. Hank included. It also seemed more and more vampires and vampire like things were coming in to investigate. "What the hell is going on." Is all hank could mutter at first once he realized if things went south he was screwed beyond reasoning. "It seems that vampires are not the only ones who turn on their own." One of the newer vampires said to Hank. "I am going to be honest, I am pretty sure that humans have been killing humans since before vampires were a concern." Hank said emotionless. He knew who the vampire was, Mithias. Worked close with the Covenant. He was another pet like the other vampire. Though Hank only knew the other one by a picture, and a name he had learned moments ago. Vladimir. And half blood, Hank was now wondering what that was about. A cross breed between blood lines? Hank didn't know of any cases like that but he didn't have the best of resources. Though he did seem very displeased with Hank's bullshit answer. "It would sound more convincing if you give me more time to make up something." He said simply to Vladimir.

The tiny vampire brought the young one who had healed Hank inside of his RV. The one that Hank had filled with explosives, legal guns, illegal guns, homemade gear, blades, and more explosives. And a flame thrower. "This may be a problem in the long run... or short run." He said grabbing his gear that he had dropped along the fight. Some of it he was able to put back in holsters. Others he put on his back. Hank figured it was best to get going now though, before things got worse and he ran out of bullshit.

Hank had set his gear inside of the RV when he started listening to the pleas from Mithias. "Hundreds you say? Does this mean the compact is officially broken? Are we entering the Dark Wars?" Hank asked. It was a term that the hunter community had tossed around for a while. It was to define the massive bloodshed that would take place if humans and vampires were to go into a species wide war with each other. No one liked how that would play out. "If what you are saying is true. There's not a lot I can do from my end. The resources needed to capture hundreds of humans would require dozens, if not hundreds of vampires. At least in as short of a time frame as you are implying." He looked at the tiny vampire, and the young one who had healed him.

He didn't like how things went a lot of the time. Or ever really, but things had to be done. But before Hank could explain his thoughts, the two were gone. He was now alone with Mithias, and Vladimir. "...fuck my life." He turned to faced Mithias. "Not sure what I can do against that many vampires, nor do I trust or want to stay near you. But the way I see it their lives are more important then mine." He hated the idea of so many people being prisoners like that. He also hated to think about what was going to happen to the two girls. He hoped that they would be okay in the long run. Despite opposing sides.

Hank was trying to pull numbers from inside of his head. "There are a few thousand rounds of ammunition inside, there isn't a lot of military grade gear though. I have some explosives, traps, a collection of blades, and one flame thrower that still works. If we had more time I could fix the propane one." He looks at the two in front of him. "I sure as help hope you guys have a good plan. Because there is only so much guns and explosives will do." He had spare gear, he had heavy equipment. He also knew that if this went south he was sure as hell dead or h was going to be turned into a blood bag.

Vladimir titled his head as the overwhelming sense of fear rolled of eloise and hit him like an ocean wave. It caught him off guard completely. He hadn't planned on leaving her with the covenant...not with how they were to her. But this fear....his eyes shut for a moment as he recomposed himself. His eyes reopened and he nodded. He wouldn't force her. The fear had made him distracted from the others around him, so he found himself quirking his brow as the eleven year old ancient began to speak.

Vladimir crossed his arms and took the insult hurled at him. He was used to it by now seeing as both his kinds hated him. He could never figure out why, but the insults always had his jaw clenching. "You probably aren't wrong on that. My heart may very well be black." He simply took a step to the side and watched her take off. His eyes following the pair for a moment before he turned to mithias.

"Well....If you wish to not pair with me due to my race I won't stop you from leaving" Vladimir said this with an odd amount of seriousness. A tone he did not take very often, his eyes studying Mithias for a moment before he turned toward Hank. He gave a small smile. "Plan? Me and plans don't normally happen." He walked toward him. "In all honesty...no matter what we come up with....my main plan is getting as many of the humans out of the clutches of the vampire nazis as possible...along with making sure you don't die as well."

Vlad made his way to the rv, but paused. "Mithias I trust you to come up with a plan...and Hank if something goes wrong...yell or something. I don't want you to be a blood bag anymore then you do" Vlad made his way inside and started surveying the weapons available.

Vladimir's words did nothing but make the parasol-twirling vampire even angrier. She called him a "leech mutt", which Eloise found peculiar (yet strangely appropriate). Eloise was surprised at how readily she came to her defense. That, she thought, has certainly never happened before.

Not after she'd been turned, anyway.

Hank, on the other hand, didn't seem to be particularly worked up about the presence of Vladimir and the golden-eyed vampire. Now that Eloise thought about it; wasn't there another vampire who helped the Covenant? What was his name? Michael? Micah? Mithias? Something like that.

Eloise barely had a chance to register what everyone was saying before she felt the shorter vampire tightly grab hold of her and start running faster than Eloise would have ever thought possible, bringing Eloise along with her. Eloise, for her part, did her best not to get in the way, and simply let the other vampire drag her along as trees and brush melted into one big blur.

"Where...where are we going?" She gasped out, unsure if the other vampire would even hear her.

Magnus Shane

Magnus nodded slowly in agreement. That he could agree with for sure. Guns were nice and all, though they offered very little in a pinch if needed. He'd certainly get Johnathan to start training them to use a side-arm...perhaps a sword or a knife? Magnus himself was skilled in using a wide range of weaponry, primarily light such as his claws as well as light fire-arms. He saw no reason his soldiers shouldn't have the same capacity, after all it made him look bad if they were inept. He made a mental note of that followed by listening to Tristan's report on his little 'vacation'. Which, really to Magnus, did sound like a fun trip once it was explained to him.

Ahh...if only he could of gone along. Ah well. There was plenty of chaos and destruction to be had with his plans unfolding before him. The vampire was already making plans for their next assault in his mind, meticulously thinking of the various outcomes for this as well as what was next to come. With the citizens getting captured for the most part he'd have quite the fine addition to his little army, at the very least able to replace the ones he lost today. Bigger cities would end up being more soldiers being issued into the fold of course, so for now he wasn't entirely to concerned on capture so much as conquering this outpost. A wide toothy grin formed on Magnus' lips when Tristan finished his story, showing off his pointed teeth perfectly. "Perhaps if one does break out you'll have to invite me along next time. It would be quite fun to devastate the troops with you." He replied, chuckling softly.

At his question he hummed in thought, "To the East. We'll be taking all the towns and turning the citizens to continue to add to the army. Setting up outposts and forts of our own." He explained. "Primary goal as of now is to take over this particular state and branch southward towards even larger cities. We need to grow our men and resources...it will take time, something I'm not sure Johnathan understands, but we should succeed." He continued. "The Covenant will inevitably send more and stronger troops, but by the time they're able we'll have already amassed enough forces to combat them effectively." He said, his grin turning into more of a twisted smirk, pure insanity glinting in his eyes briefly. "All we need to do is herd the cattle into the pen for slaughter..humans' over-confidence and boisterous attitude is what will be their downfall."

Pipistrelle gritted her teeth. Her skin felt like fire, and she could feel how part of it was turning into ash, smoky wisps raising from dark patches as she sped up through the woods. She heard a murmur close to her ear, which she acknowledged it was the other vampire. She probably was asking what was going to be her fate.

"I'll bring you to my haven." She added, as she forced herself to keep running, despite weakening by the second. "You are in dire need of rest and counselling, fledling." She snapped back, her breathing irregular due to the effort. "But first, I'll find a shelter before..." It was then when her left leg failed for the first time, risking to send both tumbling, but surprisingly, the Roman vampire managed to kept her poise a little longer."Nightfall."

Among the blurry of the forest, she spotted a shelter. A cavernous hole inside a rocky outcropping. Fully covered in the shadows, and with space for two. She didn't even doubt it, as she veered to her left, and stopping by the cavern, carefully dropped Eloise in a cool, dark side of the small cavern. It was then when her left arm and leg finally caught fire, and started to burn vigorously. Unable to keep control any longer, Pipistrelle fell to the ground, more and more patches catching fire on her skin.

But, that didn't kill her fast enough. Using her remaining arm and leg managed somehow to crawl into the darkness of the cave, the flames subsuming as soon as she did, and fast regeneration occurring. She still looked rather pitiful, and a gaze of extreme exhaustion was plastered over her face. "Sorry, didn't find anything better." She managed to piece together, before trying to crawl into a resting position aswell. "Been a while since I was this close to dying." she nonchalantly added, her tiny body slumping.

And then she stopped moving altogether, her frame sprawling and collapsing, as her head eventually fell into Eloise's lap. She shuffled so slightly. "Mmmhgh." She said, her manners now more resembling a cuddly child than a vampire. "... I miss you, mater." She said weakly in a half delirious state as she slumped into uncousciousness.
