PowersShapeshiftingMonny has the innate ability to shift it's mass into any shape or form it sees or has seen. It can also change color and size depending on it's needs.
Superhuman StrengthMonny, as it says on the tin, can lift, hit and bash harder than your peak of physical perfection human. Some things it can so is: Strike with superhuman force, Lift massive objects and throw them with ease, Break through reinforced barriers with relative ease.
Mimicry
If Monny sees it it can replicate it up to and including looks, mannerisms, and voice.
WeaknessesHeat
If it's too hot and there's not enough water around to compensate Monny will dry out. It's unsure if it will perish if it completely dries all the way through. But Monny is in no hurry to find out.
Excessive amounts of water
Exposure to too much water weakens Monny's structural integrity. Monny's mud/clay will begin to slough off it's body.
Mimicry
Monny's perhaps not too good at keeping it's self separate from that which it mimics. If it mimics a violent man, it tends to be violent. If it mimics an airhead, it tends to be rather dumb.
AppearanceMonny is a six foot tall Mud/clay mixed monster. It is about four (maybe five) feet at it's largest point. It has one great eye and directly under that a misshapen mouth. Monny does have hands, but no joints. His arms end in five fingers. Monny also has legs but they're not usually visible under it's folds of shifting mud/clay.
Monny's default human form is a nondescript white man of indeterminable age. It has no identifying features that make it remarkable. It has mud brown hair and eyes and that's pretty much all that can be remarked upon.
Character EvolutionI see Monny as being largely hesitant. It's think large monster (which is how it thinks of itself) but it doesn't like being feared. It hid itself mostly and now it's concerned about being itself so openly. It likes the JLU in that most are not afraid of it and it hopes that the non-fear will somehow shift to everyone and it can live in peace with it's human friends.
I think for a personal story it would be really great to see Monny stuck in a situation with a non-leaguer who's terrified of him. However Monny does his best to save them and at the the end of the story the two become good friends.
BRIEF BioMonny is a singular being. There is nothing quite like it. It was not born. Nor was it created. Monny likes to think that the universe saw a need and thus Monny filled the void. The truth, as Monny would, is out there. But it's not that worried about finding it. It is content with it's lot in life. Which isn't to say that was always the case. It was a few years back when Monny first memory occurred.
It was bright and warm. Something Monny didn't know enough about to quantify. Instead it opened it's big eye and saw the world for the first time in conscious memory. It had no words to describe the building it was in. None to describe the building terror of the unknown growing inside of it. Soon that terror overtook Monny and it lashed out, hitting and destroying things. Actions that only served to agitate the great monster more. In one of it's wild swings it burst forth onto a busy street.
There new sounds assaulted Monny. Screams and cries of terror. Not knowing what to do with this new barrage of sensory input, Monny continued to lash out. This continued for quite some time, perhaps an eternity Monny will often think as it reflects upon this memory, until one of the small things hit back. It was small and more oddly shaped then everything else with a part of it reaching behind it.
Monny was quickly taken down by the thing it would learn later was Batman. Batman threw it into a place called Arkham Asylum. There Monny learned things like words, ideas, and expressions. It also learned of Clayface and how similar the two were despite Clayface being not like Monny. Having lots of time for reflection Monny did just that. It learned that the thing people screamed at him was "Monster" and took it as it's name. It also learned the words it wanted for Clayface were hurtful and angry and bad. Though even Monny had to admit it learned a lot from Clayface. Most notably the fact that Monny could shapechange. Later on Monny would take up Clayface's name to reflect what the monster had given Monny. But to also reflect his hope. That something once seen as evil or monstrous could be good or do good.
When Monny next saw Batman the two talked and Batman. Soon Monny, as a human man, was released from Arkham with the promise Batman would keep an eye on it. Monny was free to go where it wished and do what it wanted. The freedom was paralyzing. Thankfully as a monster who has no need of food, Monny was able to just sit in an ally for days on end.
After a long week Monny eventually stood up and gained employment at one of the dockside warehouses moving cargo. It learned how better to socialize, which Monny really liked. Going to bars and just talking to people was great. Monny also got an apartment and internet! Every so often one of the Bat people would stop by and talk with Monny. It'd give them information if they wanted it. Mostly it gave them whatever food it had cooked.
Eventually more time passed and Batman, and friends, came by less and less and Monny got on with it's life. Until one day Batman came back and asked Monny if it'd want to join the JLU. Monny happily agreed and now this is it's new life. One where Monny doesn't have to hide what it is anymore.
NotesMonny doesn't eat. It only needs to replenish water and mud/clay as needed which isn't all that often.
It loves to blog and spends a lot of it's time on twitter and tumblr while not doing JLU things. It also adores The Twilight Zone and often watched the show on Netflix
Monny isn't the smartest mud monster out there but it's definitely the one with the biggest heart. Most people who see human Monny assume he's a little touched in the head.
Sample PostMonny nearly skipped back from work. Today was going great. One of his co-workers, Christine had asked it to hang out later this week with some one of her girlfriends and her boyfriend. Something she called a double-date. Monny wasn't totally sure what that was, but it wanted to go on it anyways. It couldn't wait to get back home to tell all his tumblr followers about it.
Monny whistled a tune as it sort-of, kind-of, didn't skip. It didn't pay much attention to what was going on around it despite living in a not so good area of Gotham.
"Hey Monny!" A voice shouted catching the Monster's attention.
Monny stopped and turned seeing a disheveled man leaning against a wall.
"Dan!" Monny clapped it's hands and hurried over to the man. "I haven't seen you in a while."
"Sorry about that big guy." Dan said as he clapped Monny on the shoulder. "I didn't think I'd be gone so long."
"What were you doing?" Monny was always curious and always asking questions. It was great that everyone was always so nice and answered them.
"Just working a part time thing." Dan half shrugged. "Ended yesterday so here I am." Dan spread his hands to accentuate the point. "You've been eating right?"
Food. Monny never understood human's fixation on food. It had tried it once and never again. It got stuck in it's body and then smelt like something died. But everyone around here watched Monny like a hawk and it it didn't appear to eat everyone got all bothered. Monny just didn't understand it. So to avoid that Monny took up cooking and apparently giving food to people was a good way to stop that question.
"Yes." Monny dutifully replied. "I have casserole leftover if you want some."
Dan smiled widely. Monny loved it when humans smiled. "That's great Monny. But I can't. You keep it for yourself. And if your boss is still giving you a hard time, just let me know."
Monny nodded it's head. Like it said, people around here were the best. All were so caring. "Okay. You make sure to eat too."
The two exchanged a few more pleasantries before Monny and Dan parted. Monny smiled all the way back to his apartment. Yes, today was just great!
