Slow to make decisions, Domir takes everything at a relaxed pace. Due to his ancient age he does not see the urgency in things. He is a very loyal soul who greatly enjoys beautiful things. He despises killing, and avoids killing even in self defence. He often befriends small animals, and has a habit of decorating his body with flowers. Despite his pacifist bent he is prepared to fight to protect those he deems 'friends', and is strongly opposed to the oppression of the Dark Lord. When confronted with a strong personality Domir is quick to obey, and he's not used to making decisions for himself. Being so durable and practically immune to pain has caused Domir to consider his own body a shield, and he sees no issue with putting it in harm's way.

Skills/Magic:
As a golem, Domir possesses supernatural strength and durability. He stands at 3m tall, and his entire body is made of solid stone. Even though he's suffered from mild erosion since his initial creation he is still immensely sturdy. Only by destroying the talisman embedded into his centre can he be truly and permanently killed. In addition to this the magic that animates Domir grants him a mild resistance to foreign magic.

History:
Once the Great Library of Xerxes was the greatest in the land. Within it were held the works of hundreds of mages, and an army was stationed to guard it's runic walls. When the city fell the library was buried beneath the Earth for hundreds of years, lost to legend and folktale. This was until a powerful wizard with domain over elemental Earth uncovered the underground Library, and with it a treasure trove of lost arcane knowledge. With these resources he was able to make a very formidable wizard out of himself. And in order to guard the source of his power, this wizard created Domir.

For hundreds of years Domir stood guard over the hidden entrance to the library. His master had appointed him as the sole guardian of this place, and he served dutifully. Of course he never received word when his master was dragged into the political machinations of a nearby budding empire. Nor did he know when the wizard was thrown to the lions with his hands shackled. But even when his master did not return he continued his task, handily slaying the occasional explorer that stumbled across the entrance to the temple. As unmoving sentinel of a hidden library he watched the centuries go by, the vast changes of the world leaving him mostly unmoved.

But after over a thousand years of solitary service, he began to grow weary of his duty. The command spells woven into his being were never meant to last this long, and his mind was beginning to grow beyond it's original parameters. So he went from simply standing to thinking. A small difference to an outside observer, but a crucial one. For in the long hours he began to wonder what had truly happened to his master, what the nature of his duty was, and what he truly guarded. Small thoughts and doubts wriggled through his mind. And he began to ignore many of the creatures that wandered into the tunnel, recognizing that they were not thieves.

One day, a cunning rogue discovered the secret entrance. And when he confronted Domir, the ancient golem moved to attack the intruder. But through skill and wit the rogue evaded him. And then, with a silver tongue, he convinced Domir that perhaps he was guarding the wrong place after all. The rogue played on his insecurities, on the doubts that plagued him, and eventually managed to convince Domir to allow him to pass. Victorious the rogue continued into the library, only to return laughing moments later. When Domir had asked why the man was laughing, the rogue had simply explained that the library was empty. All of the arcane tomes had turned to dust centuries ago. There was nothing left.

Of course, this was not the first time Domir and the rogue met. That cunning trickster convinced Domir to travel with him, acting as a bodyguard and strongman. And over time they became fast friends. This odd couple went around for many years as the trickster talked fools out of their money and slept with noble's daughters, and Domir protected the trickster from their irate fathers. But all good things must come to an end, as did the trickster's life. Despite his dangerous lifestyle he died a happy man, dead at the age of 60 from a dagger to the throat. A duel of honour he'd tried to avoid. But he met the end as he met all things, and his very last breath carried his very last trick. For with his last words he told Domir that he had never been a servant, nor a slave, but a friend.

Now, hundreds of years later, Domir still wanders. In memory of his friend he keeps a red scarf tied around his right arm, and seeks to end cruelty wherever he finds it.

Personality: Dahalia is cold. For her, life holds no sanctity, and it doesn't matter to her whether most people live or die. Likewise, she doesn't care whether most people act of their own accord or under the control of another. Most people.
Of course, these things matter to her when applied to herself, but also to one other person: her older sister, Kerelli. Kerelli is the only other member of Dahalia's family still alive, and though Dahalia is the younger, it is she who has ended up protecting her sister due to a higher station. It is Dahalia's soldiers who guard Kerelli, it is Dahalia's manor she stays in, and so on.
This protectiveness also means an immense vengefulness. Dahalia once had another older sister, Iralian, who was middleborn of the three. The person who caused her death was also killed less than half a minute later.

Weapons: Just a good, old-fashioned longsword. In battle, Dahalia also carries a banner, wears plate armour, and rides Sundown, her horse. Outside of battle, she wears dresses like any other noble lady, preferring purples and deep blues, but will always have leather armour hidden underneath.

Skills/talents: Dahalia can handle herself in a fight. Though she is no great warrior, she has survived a number of battles from both before and after her knighthood. She can wield a sword, ride a horse, and know when to fight and when to run.
The real reason Dahalia got her promotion is because of her magic. She is a uniquely gifted mind mage, and uses her abilities to cause chaos among enemy ranks. When Dahalia is among your enemies, you must also be prepared for your closest friends sword to strike at you, or even your own.
Lastly, Dahalia is a good liar, and good at knowing when others are lying. There are enough people besides soldiers that want Dahalia dead for this to be a necessary skill when recognising where people stand.
Spells: Indirect control - The classic domination spell. Weak-willed targets are forced to perform any task telepathically sent to them. More willful targets may resist the initial casting, or attempt to break out once each hour. Of course, the target may choose not to resist, and be subjugated regardless of their willpower. Lasts until a conscious decision is made to release the target, though no more than 6 targets may be affected at one time.
Direct control - One of two spells designed by Dahalia herself. The caster controls the target by effectively becoming them. More like a possession than a domination. The caster's body continues to function directed by their subconscious. It will be unable to make significant decisions, but will do whatever it considers necessary to survive. The same restrictions apply as with indirect control, except that only one target may be affected at a time.
Snap mind - The other spell Dahalia created herself. Completely destroys the target's conscious mind. They loose all willpower and will simply do whatever anyone tells them, no matter who they are (though a control-based spell will control them like normal, and in fact they won't be able to resist). They lose their personality, and will do nothing except what they are told, even if it kills them. Only targets already affected by direct control from the same caster can be targeted, and a second chance to resist the spell takes place, with the complexity (and therefore fragility) of the spell imposing a significant advantage on the target, meaning that strong-willed targets will almost never be affected. The effect of the spell is permanent, though it can be healed by mages with relevant magic.

History: Dahalia was born just before the rise of the Dark Lord, though she was only a child when it happened. Her family lived in a predominantly human city close to where the Dark Lord first struck, so conscription forced her father to fight. She, her mother and her two sisters remained where they were rather than support the cause that many other dark elves were rallying to. When both parents were killed during the Dark Lord's attack on their city, however, it was the only choice left open to them.
They were taken into the Dark Lord's forces and trained for decades, made possible thanks to their elven longevity. It took a relatively short time for this to outweigh their time at their original home, and though they certainly weren't fanatics, they became willing supporters of the Dark Lord. This didn't last, though, as when Dahalia was in her early eighties, her sister, Iralian was punished when she was considered responsible for a failed attack on one of the few remaining resistors of the Dark Lord. Dahalia intervened, trying to save her sister, so the lieutenant carrying out the punishment magically dominated Dahalia, and had her do it herself. The trauma of killing her own sister, however, caused a burst of anger so powerful it triggered a latent magical talent.
Before either of them really understood what was happening, Dahalia had turned the tables and now it was the lieutenant who was being dominated. She was just as surprised to be doing it as he was to have it done to him, and after only a few seconds, a break in concentration snapped the lieutenant's mind.
The damage was already done. Iralian was already dead, but so was the lieutenant. Dahalia was devestated, but satisfied in her first act of vengeance. Dahalia planned to take it further, however. She would kill the Dark Lord and take over in the name of her murdered sister.
It was then that fate showed its sorrow for Iralian's tragedy. Dahalia had been preparing to flee the Dark Lord's lands, thinking he'd destroy her in punishment if she stayed. This was not the case. The Dark Lord saw Dahalia's ability as an asset, and actually planned to reward her, to her amazement. She became a knight to serve more properly in his armies, given a small parcel of land and forgiven of her crime. Iralian even got a proper burial.
Of course, Dahalia would neither forgive nor forget. The Dark Lord only wanted her loyalty because it would get him power. He didn't care about her.
He was going to die.
