What does that mean?

The length of the CS is way too long from the powers down to the Bio that isn't so BRIEF. It was all caps for a reason LOL

Respectfully I wish you luck in your RP endeavors and I hope this RP goes well for you. I’ll be taking my leave because it doesn’t seem that you’re the type who respects the effort your members actually put into the game.

effort and accessibility of a CS are two sides of the same coin. Don't let your creativity run rampant at the cost of no one being able to quickly review who you're supposed to be.

I'm afraid I'm going to be dropping my interest as well, as while my character sheet wasn't going to be as detailed as Angel's, it wasn't going to be brief either, and I'm not going to give a half-assed sheet lacking important details for the sake of briefness.

Good luck with the rp though, and I hope it succeeds, because it sounds like a super interesting concept =^.^=

My sheet was accessible. It had clear headers of the sections. And I did shorten quite a bit down. Tbh, I am use to much longer sheets than that one. For me that is as brief as you're going to get from my normal standard. I am sorry if others are too lazy to bother reading it. Sounds like this was meant to be a Free Roleplay than a Casual one if someone doesn't want to accept some extra details to make the character come off with their own voice and alive.

I've never RP'ed in Free in my life, however I'm not going to read through multiple paragraphs when I asked that the Bio be brief. Casual standards are defined on this site as being:

Roleplay here if you enjoy writing at least a paragraph or two, character development, and some depth. Grammar and spelling are encouraged. Generally one paragraph (a few sentences) per post. See individual GM for RP specific standards.

I designed Weaver in the mind of a Fan Fiction Anti-Hero. Um he started off originally as a RP character. The RP died because the GM jumped off the face of the planet. I continued the character in Fan Fiction. He has a sort of love hate relationship with Spiderman merely because of what he embodies to Weaver.

@Member 00492

Oh goody. Do you think you could have a look over the original sheet and see what I need to adapt to make it work for this RP?

From the looks of it you had this character created for other games and stories, so saying I don't appreciate the time people put into these is a bit ridiculous. You put time into it for another game. You posted the CS as it was ORIGINALLY, and mentioned above you'd be willing to 'adapt' it for this particular RP. Then you outright refuse to adapt it in any way and have the nerve to say this RP belongs in Free?!?

As a GM I reserve the right to not have to spend twenty minutes reviewing one sheet for a Casual standards RP. It's why I only dabble in Advance once in awhile.

Wow, that sounds really pretentious.

And it is. I'd never sign up for an RP, post a CS, then tell a GM he can accept it as is or not at all. I'm not that hard up for players.

All I am going to say on this manner, is I am sorry if I came off rude last night. I had a long day and that isn’t what I wanted to deal with at all. When my sheets on a normal day span between 8 and 10 pages, I did a lot, a lot to cut my standard sheet into just barely 4 pages on the Google Docs. If I feel a detail is important to the character I will add it. While I am on the High End of Casual, I think that it was unfair to ask me to lower my quality standard.

As a GM I appreciate members who put in good writing and show effort. I have always been a firm believer that the more a member gives me, the more I could work off it and include it into the story. Because RPs are a collaborative effort. The member may spark something I the GM didn’t think of and I like those little details.

I will not as I have been RPing for 16 years to lower myself. When I crave interesting ideas and I crave expanding my mental gates. I did what I could to cut back, but that amount of writing is as casual as you’ll get out of me and I do not think it was fair to expect less out of me.

That’s how it came off to me at least. I shouldn’t have snapped. But I am still not joining a RP where the GM expects the lowest quality of work.

So yeah, it's a WIP at the moment, but I figured I might as well post something a bit less... self-congratulatory than some of the stuff above. I put a cliff's notes of the backstory, but I'm going to fill in the blanks there later.

Character Type - Canon Inspired
Name - Uther Samson Alger
Alias - US Ace, The Roadbuster
Age - 21
Social Class - Downtown
Alignment - Anti-hero
Archetype - Enhanced Human
Powers -
Uther himself has very little going for him. His skull and other bones (including his teeth) are ridiculously durable, and his reflexes and reaction times are far and above the human norm. He also has an outrageous amount of endurance, able to go for a few days without sleep.

On the other hand, we have The Roadbuster. The Roadbuster is Uther's supercar, a custom number with several incredible features that make Uther's job as a courier possible. Under the hood is a custom-built engine powered by an Arc Reactor. The only computers on board are completely removed from most of the more important systems to prevent hacking. The car itself has a Vibranium chassis and suspension, allowing it to absorb the bumps from the road... and any fenderbenders, gunfights, or daring jumps Uther gets into. Thankfully, the windows are made of high-tech glass that's highly reflective- lasers tend to bounce right off. The Roadbuster is completely airtight, with oxygen scrubbers, allowing it to operate underwater for hours at a time or survive encounters with toxic gasses.

Additional systems include:
Rotating wheelwells- The Roadbuster is able to move sideways for a quick burst- enough to dodge rubble or traffic.
Gecko-Grip tires- a coating that allows The Roadbuster to drive on walls
Railway Riders- a deployable set of disks that allow The Roadbuster to drive on old subway tracks- perfect for evading pursuit.
Headlights- that double as nonlethal laser cannons. For the purpose of getting rid of debris in the road and deterring sewer mutants.
Electronic Paint Job- The Roadbuster's paint is a specialized coating that can be changed between a few preset configurations- including midnight blue and pitch plack for stealth purposes.
Scramble Plate- the license plate is able to scramble its numbers, giving false results from databases.

Skills - Even without his cybernetic enhancements, Uther is a master wheelman, equally at home behind the wheel of a sedan and a big rig.
Despite his less-than-legal career, Uther's actually highly educated as an engineer. He builds, modifies, and repairs The Roadbuster himself.
He's a reliable marksman, but nothing to write home about.
Weaknesses - Uther's cybernetics don't have an internal power source- they convert the calories in his body for energy. As such, he has to eat a lot more than a normal human.
Arch Enemy - The mystery dude who blew up his lab.
Appearance -
BRIEF Bio -
-he and his brother used to be engineers for a major auto corporation
-someone didn't like them developing a clean engine using arc reactor tech
-someone decides to blow up their lab
-his brother's dead
-Uther's injured, needs cybernetics to survive
-uses everything he knows about auto design to build The Roadbuster, a supercar powerful enough to haul a semi-trailer.
-sets out to uncover who tried to kill him, upset the status quo

Notes - The glove compartment of the Roadbuster contains two things that Uther has deemed utterly necessary for his work- a rather large revolver, and a collection of discs of classical music- such as The Scorpions, Saint Pepsi, and Lazerhawk.

@Simple Unicycle - Daredevil II - ACCEPTED

@Pleek - THE Nicholas Grey - PRE APPROVED [needs Sample Post]
^^^^ For this one, focus more on being a celebrity and less on being a racer? He's a lot like a corporate hero in my JLU RP...

This is a damn good looking cast so far guys and gals. Anybody gonna reimagine a character that isn't street level? I don't want Thor to be the only big gun or person who can fly and throw cars... LOL

Okie dokie, so I just have a few things.
First, mostly didn't have a sample post since I didn't see you have a sample post for your sheet. As GM I figure you'd probably want to nail down your sample post to show the other players what you would like their sample post to be. It is generally pretty lame to whip up a post out of thin air without anything to work off of you know? But sure I can get one up fairly quick.

Second, If everyone seems happy about playing around street level maybe just roll with the punches and do more street level focused things?

Third, I don't see how your Justice League roleplay really should effect how the players should build characters for this one? I mean THE Nicholas Grey is a celebrity DUE to his stellar racing fame.

Edit: Sample post is now included.

1.) I never said anywhere it has to be for this RP, could just as well be an excerpt from another RP post you had written. Most people don't ask but I never say anything if they simply link me to a good post they'd written. I just have to know you can roll with an idea if I throw something at you. A good writing sample can make or break the best CS. Too many times I've accepted people into RPs without a writing sample for them to come at me with "I don't know what to do with my character..." It's great if it's in-character with the RP, but it doesn't have to be.

2.) I'm actually rethinking my character now. Even though he's powered down wielding Ronan's hammer rather than the real Thor's, I've been tinkering with ideas here and there for less powerful characters. Blazing Skull, 3D Man, and now that I notice the Defenders in the roster I may go for a spin on Punisher... or somebody similar like Laughing Mask or the Destroyer.

3.) I just draw comparisons to the character in my other RP because he's all about the product and the gimmick cars and gadgets. I just don't want to see the same thing with your guy here. I get that racing is why he's famous... so let me try and give you an example. Dwayne the Rock Johnson: He got famous because he was a wrestler and a champion. However when he started making movies... he kinda stopped wrestling and is still a MEGA celebrity. He's the biggest action star in Hollywood right now. Does a lot of his own stunts. He's gonna be playing BLACK ADAM in the Shazam movie. Grey can still be an incredible wheel man... I just don't want him to have gimmick cars and the like out of nowhere. He can wear whatever equivalent to a Nike logo they have in 2099, but I don't want him to be a walking infomercial.

Generally when I'm GM'ing more than one RP it's usually because I want something else out of the other RP. If Aquaman and Plastic Man are prominent in an RP thats DC themed, I'm less likely to accept somebody using Namor or Mr. Fantastic in a Marvel themed RP unless they're vastly different. If everybody from my JLU RP who applied for this used the same type of characters as the other game it wouldn't work for me [which in my mind would be a black version of A-Bomb or the Hulk, the daughter of the Lizard rather than Killer Croc, and the business suit Moon Knight... which honestly does still sound cool...]. I just wanted to tell you what I'd like to see with this type of character if you're gonna follow up with a writing sample of some kind. I still like the concept of a corporate hero, just don't be a sell out.

On the subject of more street level heroes. Just an image for now.... but I'm reimagining the Blazing Skull for the modern 2099 world. Likely shorten the name to 'Blaze'.

Definitely taking interest in this! Will 2099 be primarily action-based or will you accept roleplay posts that delve into/draw from a character's life outside their powers?
