Bio/Personality:Sophia is the kind of person who is generally well liked by most people that she comes across; partly because she is so friendly and warm to all that she encounters and generally does her best to be agreeable and partly because she is practically like fun personified. She bakes, she dances and sings – not very well mind you and she constantly looks for joy. Sophia is the life of the party and she never shies away from getting to know people or becoming closely involved with them.
Sophia’s upbringing in Shine City was not an especially notable one. Her family was a typical middle-class family and they did what was considered the norm in most cities. Work regular 9-5 jobs, have three children and raise a family. Sophia was the youngest of the three children. With two older brothers, her parents and both sets of grandparents alive Sophia’s home was never quite growing up. Sophia would sit with her grandmother every day and the two would read books and plan theoretical trips all across the world and they would sew together – something which Sophia would carry with her for the rest of her life.
Sophia left school with slightly above average grades and no real plan on how to use them. Her eldest brother had become a lawyer whilst the middle brother started working in kitchens with dreams of running his own restaurant one day. Unlike the two them Sophia didn’t have any lofty goals or big dreams she wanted to fulfil. Shortly after she left school her grandmother caught sick and Sophia stayed home to nurse her throughout the end and just like when she was younger they would sit and talk and read, but the discussion changed from hopes and wishes to regrets. Her grandmother told her of all the things she wished she done; use the fine china more, go on more trips, married her childhood sweetheart instead of the man who offered stability, trained to become a pilot. Sophia sat and listened and smiled. She learned from her grandmother and when she passed she took the most important lesson of all; she wanted to lead a full life with no regrets…or at least as few as possible.
And so Sophia spent her early twenties experiencing all that life had to offer; she went on nature walks, went to clubs, went travelling to faraway places, spent a Christmas working at a soup kitchen, tried food she didn’t like the sound of, began making her own clothes, learned how to read tarot cards. She filled her life with as much joy and wonder as she possibly could. The only thing she didn’t make a lot of time for, to her own chagrin is romance – focusing instead on herself. Eventually, Sophia came back to Shine City after seeing the sights of the world and took a job as a secretary in the town hall. She started studying in some evening classes with the hope to go onto a nursing program. Now if she could just find a way to stop her family reminding her that she’s still single everything would be swell.
