Lola Holler

Location: North Of Newnan (Veterans Memorial Park - Corner of Temple Ave. & Jackson St.)

"Ain't we all?" Lola quipped as she glanced over the top of her mirror. She grinned before looking back at her reflection, her mouth slightly agape as she worked to put her eyeliner on one eye, and then the other. Following that up with a healthy amount of mascara. She didn't opt for a lot of blush on her cheeks and skipped the eye shadow all the together but she would be damned if she didn't put on an ample amount of hot rod red lip stick. The way the woman dressed, and especially did her make-up, one would have thought that she was about to go working in some fucked up Drag Club themed after Thunderdome. She had thought that herself from time to time but like with any good diva she knew she looked FFFAAAAABBBBUUULLLOOUUUSS!!!

"Welcome to Thunderdome," she said before giving herself a wink in the mirror and shoving everything back down into her bag. Looking up at the sun as she hooded her eyes with her hand. "Damn this place warms up quick," she added before jumping up and dancing her way over to the hatch of the tank and climbing inside. Didn't seem like she would need her jacket today, which she was grateful for. She was a Kiwi and while not accustomed to the blazes of the outback she did prefer warm weather to cold. If anything, warmer meant her baby tank wouldn't creak as much or be as cold to the touch.

Her fingers wrapped around the brim of the hatch and she poked her head out like some demented whack-a-mole game. "How long ya think we should wait on the geezer? And are we taking him with us?" she asked, wondering Jets thoughts on the matter.

Tatiana Korvo

Location: Outer Gate -> Mess Hall (Building 2)

Tatiana nodded and started to roll herself towards the inner gate, thankfully with as many people moving in and out of it due to James exit they were keeping it open for now. Passing through she looked around as people made their way this way and that, the place seemed to be very tense but that was too be expected. "It is to be rough couple days," she said in passing as they passed the greenhouse and made their way to the mess hall. Rolling inside she looked around as people were grabbing a late breakfast or an early lunch at this point. It reminded her that she and Jack still have breakfast waiting, cold as it was by now, back at her house. It would have to wait a little bit longer.

"I think ve need general group sessions for different ages. For people that vere just friends of James or Bryn or Sana," she said, leaving Richard out on purpose. From what she could tell that man didn't have any friends in this town. "Then one on one for those closest to him," she added as she rolled over to the end of one of the tables and pulled herself up to it. "You get breakfast, ve talk vhile you eat. Then ve get to vork? Sound good?" she said with a slight smile, reaching out and giving him a friendly pat on the arm before lacing her fingers together and resting her hands in her lap. First thing was first, talk to Ray about he was handling this, she wasn't about to send out a counselor to talk to others that wasn't ready to handle the situation for himself.

Alexander Polawski

Location: North Of Newnan (2 Temple Avenue)

Dunk

The tiny glimmer of hope that had passed through Alexander's head the moment he felt the door knob turn, vanished into the spring air of Georgia like the melting snow under its slow but sure baking sun. Even for a good push at the door didn't give an inch. Just his luck. The stuck door was - for now - the only thing that stood in his way to reach the sacred coffee mugs and tea cups that his new aquintances wished for. As he stood there, he wondered if kids at his time would have done the same, or if that day's generation were just nuts. Wasn't this the end of the world, after all?

Then again, his hands probably preferred holding a cup rather than the plastic itself. Not what they got in the Army, but hey, what good had they done for him these past 40-so years?

With a loud thud and creak, the heel of the elder's boot connected with the door just beside the knob. The door budged ever so slightly, and even more with the second kick. The third did its job, forcing the door open for him enter. With the light shining in from behind him, he recongized the room to be a living room, not entirely different than what he had had back home. Even the moldy carpet was in the same style that his wife had...

Alexander shook his head, focusing on the remainder of the room. This wasn't time for memories. He saw the open door to the left, the two doors further down the hall and the tiles, but not much more due to the darkness. His axe would make short work of that at least, as he turned the blade of it around to use the back of it. You know, the pointy bit that nobody except firemen know what's called? It wasn't difficult to pull the blankets and sheets down, though without any finesse or anything salvagable. But hopefully it would be easier to search the house now; not for the blessed mugs, but for Walkers.

The open door on the left was his first destination, slowly walking forward with his axe raised, ready to chop down on anyone and anything foolish enough to fuck with the old grunt. It would be easier to search the whole house if he knew that it was safe, and so that was his first priority.

Thinking back to it, Alexander wasn't all that surprised not to find any Walkers inside the room to the left. They would probably have heard the knocking on - and knocking down of - the door quite easily, yet the room was deserted of life. The axe in his hand lowered down, he walked into the middle of the room and looked around. It looked like a second living-room, or a media-room that were in back before shit hit the fan. A large tv mounted on the wall gave off his reflection, making his heart jump ever so slightly from the movement, but he was still alone.

A part of life he still dealt with every day.

Aside from dvd's and other disks, one of which read "Call of Duty" something-something to which he payed little interest, his eyes could hardly believe what they told Alexander clearly was there; tea cups, a pot and several other silver items. Perhaps Lady Luck was finally giving him a favourable look after all those years? He asked himself if he should just get the tea-set now and go, for it would have been easier that way surely. But easy didn't always mean good enough, especially not when the other rooms still weren't searched by him. No, the tea-set could wait for a little while. He still needed to clear the rest of the house before searching further. Who knew, perhaps he could ride shotgun on the Stuart if he brought something more?

Alexander exited the room and reentered the living room, looking just the same as he left it. The hallway on his left was still there, no surprise really, but he walked with caution down it. No place was safe until you knew for certain no hostiles were left, not before nor after. He had learned that the hard way. Walking down the hall, he stopped in front of the two doors just to listen quickly for any movement or sound behind them. Not sure if he heard anything - thank you very much old age, rock music and constant M-16 fire for all that -, he opened the door on the right.

Like the previous room, it was as empty as a burned-out Vietnamese village after the Marines had flown by. Alexander's first sight was the bed frame in the center, stripped clean of its mattress and everything else that actually made a bed noteworthy. The rest of the room appeared as empty as the frame, except from the open windows that let the light in. He thought to himself that was odd, seen as the front window was covered up when he got there. Had those that scavanged this house gone in through the window instead of the front door? It wasn't a terrible idea, really, the element of surprise.

At first the second door wasn't of interest to him, seen as it probably led further into the house and he was going through the hallway either way. But as he turned around to go back out to the hall, he stopped. Going through that door wasn't perhaps as bad an idea? At best it would just end up in the kitchen or somewhere else. At worst there was a Walker behind it, and they couldn't open doors, just bash them down. It was a plan then; not a brilliant one, but still a plan. He stepped to the door, and tried to open it while holding his axe ready.

This was just brilliant, except that Alexander wanted to get through that door. Like the front door, only the knob was actually moving as he wanted. His eyes wandered to the frame of the door, seeing what appeared to be the problem; it was stuck in the frame. Okay, what did you do if your plan went to shits? You change and adapt as best you can, but always stick to a plan.

"Fuck this, back to plan A."

Alexander's new plan was to turn around and exit the room back into the hall, and proceed as before down the hall. Were there any Walkers there at all? So far he hadn't seen or heard anything, but that meant he was either lucky or just raising the risk of him encountering something worse. And so he kept walking down the hall.

Alexander couldn't see much from where he stood, except the table and chairs. Was going further on worth the risk? The whole house seemed pretty torn-apart for useful stuff already, and a kitchen was one of the first places to be looted. Lola would get her tea-set alright, so in her book he might have been okay. But Thalia wanted proper coffee-cups...spoiled kid these days. Still...

But he wasn't going to go in blind, so to speak. He backtracked to the sitting room with the silver platter, and grabbed one of the empty tin cans. Back into the hall, he looked once again into the partial darkness of the kitchen-area, still nothing of interest visible. He wasn't going in blind, that was always a stupid move. Gathering intel was a top priority and what won battles, hell it won wars, and that was what he was going to do. The tin can he had picked up, he threw as hard as he could into the darkness and waited. Any Walker still 'alive' would - hopefully - hear it and head towards it. And then he could take it out at his own terms.

Silence, like the quiet before the storm or the lack of wildlife in the jungle just before an ambush. It felt like hours passed as Alexander just listened for anything out of the ordinary, but the silence gave him some form of confirmation that nothing sturred. For now. He kept on moving forward into the kitchen. Slow and steady won the race. At least that was what Alexander hoped as he walked into the darkness of the kitchen, headed for the covered up window over the sink. He did the same as the first window, hooking the blankets with his axe and pulling them off. Hopefully this wouldn't come back to bite him in the ass later, or in the leg because some idiot didn't finish of a Walker without legs.

Clean Up Isle 13, Death!
Meghna, Tiffany & Amelia

Location: Outer Gate -> Bryn and Sana's Place -> Graveyard

Meghna turned her attention back over towards both Amelia and Tiffany, she knew that Ms. Sally would probably be in really good hands, she trusted the medical staff and their capabilities. "Right, so I managed to get their bodies out of their house before James left. We need to take them over to the cemetery to bury them, then we need to clean up the mess. So, Amelia, I want you to go and grab the shovels, don't worry about asking, I'll sign and return them later." Meghna said, as she turned to look over at Tiffany for her job.

"And Tiffany, I want you to go and grab the buckets that we use to power wash and then both of you meet over at Bryn and Sana's place. I'll go and see what other messes there are from the incident." Meghna said as she started to head over towards agriculture first as she headed over to the supply area she grabbed the clipboard and quickly signed her name off. Before turning around and started to make her way towards the inner wall where the whole scene ended up taking place.

"Alright." Was Amelia's quick reply before she dashed off to grab the shovels. Her mind was still chaos, but with a defined goal in mind which currently was burying Sana, Bryn and that man who she will not mention even in her thoughts, it was easier to focus. She just had to do everything needed for that goal and turn off her thinking.

Tiffany nodded before she made her way over. She wasn't looking forward to this and contemplated taking her time, but it was a chore that needed to be done. Not only for health reasons (you couldn't just have dead bodies/blood/gore around and expect people to be ok) but also to ensure morality. They deserved their final rest and a proper burial. It was best for all involved. Tiffany found the buckets and picked them up, letting Meg handle the signing as she made her way over to Bryn and Sana's place to meet with the two.

Meghna made her way back towards the scene of the crime, her eyes following along the trail of blood that would lead over towards the work shop area. She was greeted by the sight seeing the blood and gore that was on the floor, biting her lower lip and sighed ever so slightly this needed to be done. Meg would have to clean this off first, she started to turn around and make her way back over towards Bryn and Sana's former home. "Just followed the trail the shop needs a cleaning as well." Meg said gesturing towards the two bodies of their former friends wrapped up in the bed sheets. "We will take them over one at a time to the cemetery." She then moved over to one of the bodies and then started to do her best to lift it up and started making her way over there.

Having grabbed the shovels, she also grabbed a hoe. Frankly, the four tools were a little bit heavy, but not impossible to carry. Still, she quickly started carrying them over back to meet up with Meg and Tiffany. It took a little struggle since the snow and everything, but it was better than if everything was simple slippery ice.

"I brought the shovels... also a hoe to help soften the harder upper layer of dirt!" Amelia said as she arrived and saw Meg. She nearly dropped the tools too, since her arms did get a little tired of carrying all four of them, but it was fine. It was mostly fatigue from uncomfortable holding onto them rather than working fatigue. It was going to be fine.

Tiffany set the buckets down when she met up with the two. After Meg started to lift the heavy load, Tiffany ran over and helped her lift.
"Two sets of hands are better than one." She hoped Amelia would handle carrying some things, she would be back to help carry more tools or the other bodies in a bit, but she couldn't let Meg load up by herself.

"Thank you both of you, we just need to set the bodies down by the graveyard, for now, then we have to clean up the blood in the streets and the workshop." Meghna said as she was grateful for both of their help, motioning for Amelia to help with the body of Sana and started to make her way over towards the graveyard. Once they were there Meg looked down at the sight, Richard's was there already having moved the body after everything had happened.

Amelia made a sound of confirmation as she let go of the tools completely, leaving them on the ground. They weren't going to break after all and quickly had moved to help with the body. Richard's was here... She couldn't help but even now give him angry glares. This person was the reason why Sana and Bryn died... Why James left. Why couldn't he just shoot himself in the head alone before everything happened?

"Let's go for..." She started saying, but fell quiet, running the words through her mind. Amelia couldn't help but look down."..."

She labored with the others as they made their way to the graveyard. To think that on any other day she would be with Ray, or working on arrows,
or at shooting practice, but here she was helping to carry the body of a former member of their community. She let her mind wander a bit.
This community was a good thing, but they were hit pretty hard with losing three people, six technically with James, Bea, and Ryan leaving as well. And though they seemed to be getting new faces (that of Thana and the other two she hadn't been properly introduced to), they were unknown people to her. She was a new member herself once so she wasn't against new people coming. So far, they seemed fine.

She wondered if they could do something soon to boost morale. Maybe a community get together? She would have to bring it up another time.
For now, she needed to help Meg and Amelia. This was more important.

Meghna groaned slightly as she laid the body down and stretched her back carrying the bodies wasn't something she was used to, wiping some sweat off of her forehead. She started to take off her jacket and tied it around her waist looking over at Amelia and Tiffany for a moment, letting out a slight sigh.

"I'll get to work on digging the holes, you two get the water jugs fill them up with water. There should be some salt and put it into the water. The mess will be on the street as well as the workshop, the power wash should work along with the salt to get rid of the ice and blood, once your done swing back here and we can get this done." Meghna said as she then went to grab one of the shovels, finding an empty spot as she started to get to work on digging the first hole for their three dead.

Amelia blinked a few times at first in confusion, believing the three of them were going to deal with the graves first, but now Meg told them to go clean up the gore. She wasn't sure why Tiffany and her were sent away to the other part of the task. Still, finally, she nodded." Okay then..." She replied to Meg and looked at Tiffany. Well cleaning the mess was overall going to be a lot easier than digging a grave by one's self, that's why she was confused at Meg's orders.

"I will... let's first grab the salt. We will need a good amount of it." Amelia proposed to Tiffany. Salt was going to be needed in decent quantity maybe half a kilo at the least for the bucket so it was quickly going to stack up. Both carrying it would be the better choice in Amelia's opinion.

Tiffany didn't quite understand it either, but she figured Meh must have a good reason for sending them away so she could deal with this on her own for a bit. She followed Amelia and helped her grab the salt and water. It was easier with the both of them to carry them. They made their way to where the blood was. "I've never actually used this kind of thing before, but I've seen it done. How hard could it be?" Once the salt was in the water, she hooked the power washer up to it and began to spray the blood and gore away. Much to her amazement, it worked like a charm. It was smart thinking adding salt to the mix.

After a bit, she handed the power washer over to Amelia to let her have a go at it. Once they were safely done, she turned the washer off.
"Ok, let's make it back to Meg. She should be almost done."

Into the Wilderness!

Starring: Ryan, Beatrice, Gavin, and James
Location: Outside of Newnan

"Yeah, least someone can act as a buffer between me and James," Ryan chuckled as the truck rolled down Lagrange Street and away from Newnan. Ryan watched as the wall of the city became smaller and then disappeared around the bend of the road as they passed Reese Street. James seemed to know where he was going, or at least Ryan hoped he did. Right then though, whatever plans they had were stopped by a rather large tree that had up rooted from the weight of the snow. Seemed it had been down for several days and had been half covered by snow in the last full snow fall that happened a few days ago.

"He is a murderer, you know," Beatrice observed dryly. "He fits the bill to live in the Rejects House with you now," she then added with a bit of a chuckle. She cared deeply for James, but she also knew that everyone had a certain amount of darkness in them. When she wasn't being asked to serve papers, she did freelance work, on occasion being hired to track down cheating spouses, runaway teens, and even gang members who had left the fold. She had made a living off of looking for the worst in people.

"Seems like we's be taking the long way around," Gavin said to James as he spotted the down tree off in the distance. It was down right before the turn off onto Hollis Heights. That road took them north but there were a lot of cross streets surrounding Newnan and it looked clearer than the other roads they had passed so far. "Thataway?"

It was a quite surreal feeling, driving that truck down the street. The chilly quiet outside seemed to force a sense of emotional numbness in James. The sudden lull in action following the intensity earlier probably had something to do with it as well; just as much as his sudden and dramatic change in living circumstances. They hadn't been in the truck long, but James was grateful to Gavin for the conversational hiatus for the past couple of minutes. Vaguely, he was aware of the discussion between Beatrice and Ryan, unable to make out individual words (nor did he attempt to eavesdrop).

"So as of right now that cowboy is the only one we know of that doesn't belong in the reject house," Ryan said chuckling to himself but from the look on the mans face when they were leaving he had to wonder just how southern the man was. He sure talked it.

Beatrice faked a look of mild shock and offense. "My record was clean," Beatrice protested. Her juvi record, of course, was a complete other story, but it had been sealed. Sure, a few of the people she served weren't too happy with her tactics, but the firms she worked with always made those complaints go away quietly. She hadn't been incarcerated since she was fifteen. Her eyes scanned the horizon for a moment, wondering where exactly they were headed. Away from Newnan was a good general location, but she hadn't left with James just to wait for walkers to come. "Any idea where we're headed?" Beatrice then asked, unable to hear much of James' and Gavin's conversation.

James's quiet thoughts turned outward as he noticed the fallen tree denying them passage. "Yeah, man." he responded to Gavin wearily. It was a fair observation and by rights, the only practical suggestion. "Thataways it is. See if we can get back on after a block..." His voice trailed off. James knew their destination, and just wanted to get there so they could have that much needed talk. Keeping an eye out, he turned the wheel to the Silverado and pulled onto Hollis Heights.

Gavin gave a nod and propped his elbow up on the arm rest as the scenery went by. The snow was melting and it was warming up. Placing his cigarette in his mouth he shrugged off his duster and left it under his rear instead of trying to pull it out. Rolling down the window some he ashed the smoke before finishing it off and flicking it out the window.

The plan, if indeed what they had was a plan in the classical sense, was to take the first clear street to the left and swing back onto LaGrange, hopefully to be about their way. The way up Hollis Heights seemed clear enough, except for the constant presence of pack ice, just now starting to become slick as the temperature rose. Driving in this was dangerous at the best of times, and James wasn't exactly in the best of emotional states just then. If he could keep it together for a little while longer, he would be able to vent a LOT of what he was feeling, and do something nice for Newnan in the process.

Ryan chuckled a bit and shook his head. "No fucking clue," he said as he looked around.

James had to stop himself from putting on his blinker as he began to turn onto the next street to his left; a once quaint neighborhood thoroughfare named Waverly Circle. Yet just before he committed to the road, he caught something in the distance. It was a huge mound of white, piled up in the middle of the road. "Aw, hot damn..." That was either the mother of all snow drifts, or a standard drift piled on top of a mound of leaves. Or a truck. "Aight, big nuh-uh there, Tex." He course corrected to continue rolling up Hollis Heights. "Now, if'n that's leaves n' such, I can bust that mutha out real quick. But if'n that there's a Volkswagon... Nah." Next block up, try again.

"But wherever we are going mother nature sure isn't making it fucking easy that's for sure," he laughed as they came up to another block in the road. This was going about as well as a monkey trying to fuck a football at this point.

Gavin heard Ryan and glanced over to James. His window being down was making hearing things when they were going slow or backing up a lot easier now. "Ain't one damn road leadin' ta Rome right now," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck. Rolling the window back up real fast he scooted down in the seat some to get more comfortable. "Hows fars outs we gonnas gets b'fers we break the news of our little quest?"

Beatrice sighed slightly as Gavin rolled his window back up. She disliked not being able to hear what other people were saying. Eavesdropping was an important source of information and she couldn't help but feel like James and Gavin were keeping something from them. The elements were enough to hold her attention, but just barely. She only hoped that any walkers nearby were still too frozen to move quickly. She didn't like the idea of being exposed, out in the open, with no sense of what the plan was.

"Mother Nature doesn't seem to want to let us get too far away from Newnan," Beatrice agreed.

The truck rolled up to the next intersection as smoothly as it could with James at the helm, considering the treacherous roads. The fact was that he had lived the vast majority of his life in the Southern United States and had only driven in these conditions sparingly. The truck was a superior vehicle for this, but it had no chains to help grip and snag the slick, icy roads. James would have to maintain a respectfully moderate pace, at best. But what he saw down the road a block or so might as well have been a flickering neon sign that screamed "You Wasted Your Time".

"Well hopefully these two yahoo's have some idea of where to go. Been so damn long since I have been outside the wall I have no idea what is out here anymore. Granted as long as we aren't heading north east I don't give a good god damn," Ryan said, referring to Eden. Last thing he ever wanted to do was cross paths with those asshats again.

Beatrice nodded. She understood Ryan's distaste for Eden. Despite never having any direct interactions with them herself, just about everyone in Newnan knew a story or two about that place. And from what Beatrice had heard, it made the combination of Chloe, Richard, and Ryan look like a saintly trio. "I don't imagine James would go there. Though, I didn't imagine he would commit murder today," Beatrice said thoughtfully. "He's become unpredictable...but at least his driving isn't too shabby, even in these conditions."

Both hands rested on the wheel, but James's head fell forward. Another tree, a larger one this time, blocked the path and was covered with rivulets of thawed and refrozen ice. This whole residential area seemed laden with the stuff; the trees blocked all but the most aggressive sunlight, ensuring that winter held sway for a few hours more than everywhere else. "Damn, damn, damn." he breathed. Turning to Gavin, he said, "Cap'n Ash done us a solid, Tex. Couldn't tell anybody, but he done us right. Spot we goin's only a couple miles south, if'n we ever get a straight shot. Not a lotta folks knows about it, either. Tucked away, sorta. Good stuff. We talk when we get there. Thems that don't wanna play can hole up, make back for Newnan when the road clears." But the road was not clear now, he painfully realized as he found a clear driveway and turned back to Hollis Heights.

Gavin looked over towards James and gave the man a broad smile. "Well ain't that right neighborly of him. Damn fine to be doin' ya rights likes that. Makes ya wonders why he even bother makin' yas leaves but if that Cap'n be anything military likes Strawberry Wine, I cans guess whys. She's all rules and business likes that. Don't thank that gurl ever even jaywalked," he laughed. He knew about her history to a point but ever since he met her she was one to stand the wall as it was.

"Mmm hmm, mmm hmm..." agreed James with a nod. Mostly, his concentration was on getting his truck the hell out of this little conundrum and down to where it needed to go before he could have that uncomfortable sit-down with the others in his group. Pulling back to Hollis, he turned left yet again and got back onto what was probably the only clear(ish) road left in human existence. "Nutha left turn, nutha left turn. I ought be in muthafuckin' NASCAR, all the left turns I'm doin' here."

"Yeah we haven't been thrown out of the truck yet," Ryan chuckled as he slipped his coat off. It was warming up quickly outside and with as slow as the driving was going he was starting to get a lot warmer than he liked. Granted Ryan was from New York.

Beatrice smiled amusedly as Ryan took off his coat. She figured that it was starting to get a little too warm for him, but she was a California girl at heart. Heat was second nature to her, even if she had spent her teenage years in northern Californian. It hadn't been enough to change her preferred temperature range. As the weather continued to warm up, so did Beatrice's spirits. The long winter had been a bit exasperating. "So many lefts...," Beatrice observed with a sigh. "You'd think the man had forgotten what a right turn was..."

The next intersection also showed a blockage, but luckily, it was to the right. As previously noted, the crew in the Silverado was turning left. In this instance, left onto 4th Street, which despite the melting ice and snow, looked nice and open. James knew this area pretty well; he had gone on runs to scavenge supplies and fixtures for Newnan all around here. 4th, if it stayed clear (and it looked like it might) stretched all the way to Boone Dr., which was the street he wanted to exit LaGrange onto. This could work. He proceeded at a steady pace, hoping that his luck had finally turned. Unfortuntely, he then realized he'd have to make at least two more lefts before this was done with. Damn NASCAR.

"Longs as we don'ts wrecks like Earnheart I'd be all fer some good old fashion racing. Damn man, imagine opening up this truck on the Atlanta Speedway? Hot damn, that be a right fun time!" Gavin said excitedly as he thought about it.

The truck made its next obligatory left turn onto 4th. It was straight and level, but most importantly it was clear of debris that had stymied their journey so far. James risked putting a little more weight on the gas pedal, stepping up their progress somewhat but not so much as to slide or fishtail. The sun had more opportunity to do its work on this road; the trees were lighter and further apart, giving more breaks in the snow and ice that were steadily widening in the morning light. This little break gave James the slightest elevation of mood. "Tells ya what... We survive this - you, me, an' this truck're gonna take a little trip to the Speedway. Deal?"

The next few moments passed with James looking cautiously hopeful. Within the near distance, he could see the street sign indicating the presence of Boone Drive. The way was blessedly clear, all the way up to it. Just one more left, and they would be back on track.

Agriculture - 101

Thana looked over to Kris as she walked away from the ongoings of the group at the gate. She heard a bit of a commotion but kept her eyes forward now as she continued to walk. Whatever was happening, there was no gun fire so she would stay on target and do her job unless otherwise informed by Ash. Glancing back to Kris she nodded and gave the girl a look. It wasn't harsh, just neutral. "Good to meet you. And yes, if you could be my guide around here for a bit. Captain Holloway was going to but I believe he has other matters to tend to at this moment and I hate putting anything off that could be done right now," she said calmly. "So do you prefer to go by Kristina or Kris?" she asked as she continued to walk through the field.

Kristina looked over her shoulder as she could hear some of the commotion that was going on, she assumed it was the others grieving still over that James was leaving. But she wasn't sure what it was going on over there, but she had a feeling that she would get some information on what was going on later on today. Her attention quickly went back towards Thana as she spoke to her, and gave her a slight smile she was slightly nervous aside from what she had learned yesterday she still didn't know her that well. "Of course, I guess we should start with the livestock." Kristina said as she started to make her way towards the stables and pens. "Everyone usually calls me Kris, if that's easier for you."

"Alright Kris," Thana said as she turned and walked next to her as they made their way over to livestock. That was not her specialty but she figured it couldn't hurt to take a look. Seemed she would need to talk to Ash about who knew what around here so she could better organize her team for maximum efficiency.

She then opened the door to the stables, before speaking once more. "We have eight hogs, six female two male, thirty chickens, three roosters, one dairy cow, and one bull, numerous Guinea pigs and rabbits. We also have six horses, War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, Edgar and Cadence." Kris stated as she walked down the pens looking at the ones that were in the building.

Thana stopped her in tracks and quirked a brow as Kris listed off the horses. Running them through her head: War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, Edgar, Cadence? Cocking her head to the side she looked at Kris. "That is an interesting set of names. We have the four horsemen of the apocalypse and then 2 others. Do I even want to know how those names came into play?" she asked with a slight smirk curling at the corner of her mouth.

Kristina turned around to look at Thana and smiled slightly and shrugged slightly, the four horsemen were there way before she joined up with Newnan. "Personally I'd give the four horsemen a different name, but that was long before I came here. Cadence and Edgar were owned by two women, Bridget and Astrid they gave them their names but sadly they were killed a few months ago while on a run to get some injured from the Franklin settlement." Kristina answered, as she turned around and started to head out of the stables. "I'll take you over to the storehouse now where we keep the seedlings."

Walking out of the stables in turn, Thana kept pace with Kristina. She'd have to ask Ash about the four horsemen later and see where those names came from. The word that there was a another settlement got her interest more focused though. There was another settlement around here? Maybe James would head there with Gavin. "So there is another settlement you all work with around here?" she asked as they headed over towards the storehouse.

Kristina closed the door to the stables, before continuing on her way over towards the storehouse looking over her shoulder and then nodded slightly. "Well not really at the time they were a separate community, before Franklin was integrated a few months ago they have their own section of Newnan." Kris said as she made it towards the storehouse and opened the door up for Thana, looking at the various bags of seed, pickled and stapled.

"I see, any reason they are kept in a different area of town?" Thana asked, wondering why they would have their own section of Newnan. Though thinking on it, she figured it had been for safety purposes. Integrating a single person was hard enough, an entire community sounded like it would be nearly impossible.

"In here we have corn, peanuts, red beans, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, vidalia onions, carrots. We have cotton, but that's on low supply currently, strawberry rootlings and strawberry seeds." She said as she pointed out to them where they were located, before continuing down the list. "We also have okra, asparagus, green onions in the greenhouse, we have dill seeds, winter squash seeds, and cabbage seeds."

Stepping into the store room, Thana took a look around. Her hands running along the shelves. Some items looked okay but others looked like they were a bit weaker than she would have liked yet she figured that was because of the cold snap. Some stores were low but she had been told about a green house, she hoped that what wasn't here was there getting some needed warmth. Reaching over to the wall she took down the clip board and flipped through the pages. "So, what have your duties mainly been under Grady?"

Kristina leaned up slightly against one of the shelves and watched as Thana inspected what they had in stock, seeing that some of them were rather low on supply, and others weren't looking as good as they should be. When she asked what Kris' usual duties were while James was in command over agriculture. "I usually tended to the animals, making sure that they are fed, stalls changed and cleaned and some general care as well as putting the animal waist into the compost pile." She ran a hand through her hair that's what she mainly did when working with the livestock before. "As for the crops, weed pulling, watering, planting, harvesting when they are ripe enough to be picked." Kristina answered.

Placing the clip board back, Thana nodded a bit as she turned back to Kris. Sounds like you don't have a problem getting your hands dirty," she said and there with the smallest twinkle of approval in her eyes. Adjusting her cap and slipping off her coat with due to the climbing temperature of the air she draped it over her arm. "Well why don't you tell me which jobs you actually enjoy and what you would like to learn while you show me the greenhouse. We can stop by the medical garden last." Stepping out of the building she glanced around and noted that the crowd had cleared from the gate while they had been walking around and talking. Whatever had happened earlier seemed to have been taken care of. She half wondered where Ash had gotten off to as she motioned for Kris to show her the way.

"Before all this happened, I probably would have complained both my father was a farmer and my sister stayed home with my dad when my parents got divorced, but I do enjoy it now." Kristina said as she started to head out of the storehouse and started to make her way across towards the greenhouse. She looked over Kris also noticed that almost everyone else had gone off to do their duties. Kristina then started to take off her jacket as well tying it around her waist. Kristina thought about what else she could do, aside from tending to the crops and the livestock she wasn't sure really.

Nodding a bit Thana continued to walk, passed the inner gate and towards the grassy knoll where the green house was. "Funny how things change," the Lt. commander said in passing.

"I'd like to probably learn helping out in the medical garden, I don't know much about medical stuff but tending to the plants probably isn't that much different from crops out in the field right? Or tending to the horses more, since the ones who owned Edgar and Cadence are both gone." Kristina answered, she was then at the greenhouse and opened it up to let Thana in first.

"I see, do you have more of an interest in live stock or..." she said as she stepped up to the greenhouse and peered inside. "Plants?" she finally finished as she stepped inside and took a look at what all was in there. Seemed whoever had been taking care of the seedling had been doing a decent enough job at it. There was room for improvement and while they were not thriving they were alive and growing.

Kristina took a step inside as she watched Thana inspecting the plants that were in the greenhouse and thought for a moment, she was more of an animal person growing up. "I grew up more tending to animals when I visited my dad it was easier for me and I always did like playing with them." Kristina answered, she had tended to the greenhouse as well when she was told to work there looking at the growing plants. "So what do you think needs improvement?"

Thalia had found the pound cake. Oh yes, Thalia had found the pound cake. The packaging put up a hard fight, but in the end, when the final bell rang? The referee raised the bloodied glove of the half-Latina spitfire who immediately enjoyed the spoils of victory one loving morsel at a time. It was said that the men for whom these MREs were designed would go to great lengths to maintain the territory of their pound cake. In these troubling times, Thalia knew why. Her final tactic in forcing the dark plastic wrapping to give up its prize came in the form of an automatic tactical knife she pulled from her boot. By the time the wide, pointy steel opened with a ponderous, intimidating click, it was all over but the individually packaged moist towelette to dab the crumbs away from her chiseled face.

She was listening to her friend, though. "Hey girl, this is your tank. I'm just squatting here. I only made a deal to fork over hot chocolate powder in exchange for some coffee cups." When she said it out loud, it didn't really seem completely on the up-and-up. "You want my opinion, Lola? Fine. Every decent person out here needs friends. And no action can be left unanswered, good or bad. Maybe we don't take him all the way to his precious lines of smoke, but we're going near that way anyway. We can get him closer, least." Everything seemed a trade these days. Her deal was for coffee cups, but perhaps a tea set would change things. Or perhaps they'd just be on their way, off to their own destination in mind.

Alexander Polawski

Location: North Of Newnan (2 Temple Avenue) ---> (Veterans Memorial Park - Corner of Temple Ave. & Jackson St.)

The kitchen surrounding Alexander was frighteningly familiar, sending a shiver down is spine as he let his eyes scan the now lit room. He tried to not let the memories come back, barely registering what his eyes were actually seeing. But he remained in the moment, for now. Not that anything stuck out to him there; the kitchen was old-fashion furnished, stove, fridge and all. The open cabinets were as empty as expected, but some remained closed; not that he expected them to contain anything mindblowingly important, but he tried to make a mental note of them for later.

His mind had other ideas, though, as he turned to see the door leading out the screened-in porch, the outside of the house and the tree-house. This time he couldn't hold back, and it all went black for a second. Then he opened his eyes again, but he was far away.

"Why, dad? Stop living my life for me!" A voice called out in what felt like a large cave, echoing far and beyond. An older man wearing massive glasses and an ironed-shirt neatly tucked into his pants, sat at the table beside the window. Snow was falling down like never before, but the seated man looked like he was boiling over. It was difficult to hear what he said, but the faint memory of words like "too young", "die" and "mother" gave much meaning to our spectator. The features of him were blurred, but the voice was familiar, though less hoarse as two words broke the encroaching darkness; "Fuck you!"

Smack

Alexander's palm hit his cheek with a loud smack, pulling him out of his state of manic delusion and back to the battered kitchen in the middle of Georgia. Yes, this was were he was, not an old house in Chicago. He had to focus. The small door on the right was his escape from his past then. He opened it.

Great, his luck clearly was having a very difficult time to decide what to award Alexander. The door he opened revealed what once had been a pantry, filled to the brim with such well-renowed nutritions that everyone knew and loved; nothing at all. Sure there were a few grains of rice, but it was more of a mockery towards Alexander than useful, and so he simply closed the door. Or rather, he slammed it shut.

He sighed as he turned around to the rest of the kitchen, starting to search through the various cabinets, dish-washer, stove and fridge. Hopefully this mission wouldn't just be good for those sending him on it. He had gotten tired of that many years ago.

The grumbling noises coming from the bearded elder grew louder for every empty cabinet he searched, until he finally slammed the fridge door shut so hard one might be afraid it would fall off. Really? Was this it, not finding anything at all? Alexander's eyes ran across the cabinets he had searched, irritated of his clear lack of favour by the lucky lady. Then they stopped. There was still one cabinet he hadn't searched.

He sighed, seriously considering if it was worth checking or not. What were the odds that he would actually find a proper mug...

But right there, hidden in the shadows, stood it; the coffe mug. Hadn't it been the time it was, Alexander would have seriously questioned the joy he felt for seeing such a beautiful sight. Carefully stretching out, he grabbed it and pulled it out of the cabinet, looking it over in the light. He had to chuckle to himself as he read the inscription; "'World's Greatest Lover'. Looks like the Grunt saves the day, once again."

What then? Alexander looked up with his cheery face from the mug and around the kitchen. It wasn't anything left to search there. His eyes gazed down the hall from which he'd came from. He had looked pretty thouroughly there too. Then they stared at the door, the porch, the snowed-in shed and the tree-house. Should he...?

No. It was wrong, it felt wrong. Every fiber in his body refused to even consider going out there, the place that reminded him of...him, and what followed after. Alexander took the cup, and walked back to fetch the tea-cups and the rest of the set. He wasn't spending any more time there.

The door closing behind him felt like a breath of fresh air. He was out, out and safe. Well safer than he felt inside a cramped house in partial darkness, but it was an improvement, okay? The ever increasing heat wasn't something he would complain about now anyway, so Alexander felt a smile form on his lips. Now it was time for tea.

Alexander had slung his axe across his shoulder so that he could actually carry the silver platter, the cups and tea-set, and the coffe-mug. At least Lola was going to have a field day. But before going there, he put down the various pieces of china, and pulled out his radio. "Steel Chicken, this is Grey Hawk. Put the kettle on, I'll be home soon. Over."

It didn't take long for him to return to the tank and his female superiors so-to-speak. The worst part was the fear he had of slipping on the snow and shattering what he had spent so long searching for. Once he almost fell, some of the snow had begun to melt in the baking sun. But he caught himself and remained up-right. As he turned the corner of snow and saw Lola and Thalia in or on top of the tank. Lola's change of look was...excotic, to put it nicely. Very, very nicely, like complimenting a dead badger.

"Mission complete, Sergeant Ma'am. Four tea-cups with saucers, one coffe mug, one tea pot, a bowl and a milk...mug? And to top it all off..." Alexander told them as he put the silver platter down at the tank, pulling something out of his back pocket. "Spoons. So, Thalia, how about that chocolate drink? And my radio, if you would be so kind."

It was kind of silly, him risking his life in order to look for some cups and mugs. But Alexander, perhaps due to the fact that he wasn't alone, couldn't help but smile. Perhaps the future had some forgiveness for him for once? "I take it nothing out of the ordinary happened while I was gone?"

Riley Ridgeway
&
Raymond Mendoza

Location: Mess Hall

Raymond gave Tatiana a friendly nod and smile as she gave his am a gentle pat, he did like the idea of making small groups and talk about those who were closest to the people that they had lost today. "I figure we could start with the people who are closest to James first, then work our way with talking about Sana, and Bryn." Ray suggested, he did notice that she had left Dick out on purpose, which was pretty much fine by him he wasn't liked by the others in town anyway.

"I'll be right back then with some food." Ray said as he started to walk off to get into line with some of the others. He could feel his stomach growling slightly, he hadn't really had anything to eat since this morning as Ray saw Riley in the distance. Ray gave her a quick wave which she looked up and returned as well before going back to whatever it was that she was doing.

Raymond grabbed a nearby tray when it was his turn, he started to fill up his plate with the food and started to make his way back over towards Tatiana. He might as well see how she is doing after all, Raymond walked back over towards Tatiana's table and sat down across from her. "What happened to your foot, and how are you holding up by the way?" Ray asked, he figured that they could interview each other first before going to talk with everyone else.

Riley leaned back in her seat as she looked up at Raymond as he waved at her, she gave him a slight smile and returned the gesture as she watched the line for a little bit. She decided to wait a little bit longer for the line to clear up before she would get in line and grab her own breakfast. Riley ran a hand through her hair when she saw the line was clearing up somewhat Riley stood up and started to make her way over towards the line.

She started to grab her food when it was her turn once she had her tray Riley turned back over towards the table she had been sitting at, and quickly started to dig in and eat. Riley would occasionally look over at Tatiana and Ray for a bit, she decided to stay and get it over with when it would be her turn for her Dr. Phil session.

Lola Holler

Location: North Of Newnan (Veterans Memorial Park - Corner of Temple Ave. & Jackson St.)

"You forking over food or drink makes me wonders if you went off the deep end," Lola chuckled as she pun around in her chair listening to the rest of what Thalia had to say. "Yeah, suspects so. Thoughs anythings longer than down the road a march I dunno. We's got room but I do like the set up we gots going here. It's Aces. Though figuring with you, you would mind an even larger transport, like an aircraft carrier," she said laughing. Lola was always off in her own little world but she wasn't dumb enough to think that she didn't grate on Thalia's nerves - at least every so often. No one could stay mad a her anyways, she was awesome.

Hearing the radio crackling she cocked a brow. "And I'm the nuts one?" she said with a smirk as she finally stopped spinning around and leaned forward. What kind of code names were those? Steel chicken and gray hawk? What was this, some twisted looney toons version of Chicken Little and Chicken Hawk? She was waiting for him to show back up and start rambling, "now see here, I say see here," like Foghorn Leghorn.

Turning in her chair a bit as the gereatric came waltzing back up her eyes widened a bit. "Well holy fuck, tea and crumpets it is. Now here are those fucking crumpet when you need them."

Tatiana Korvo

Location: Mess Hall (Building 2)

Tatiana nodded a bit as she sat there and Ray went to get something to eat. She was figuring about the same thing but she needed to see how he was coping with things before she started getting groups together for him to talk to. If he wasn't handling this on even keel, it could make a bad situation even worse. As he came back she glanced down at her foot. "Vhen gun vent off, I dropped cup. Stepped on glass vhen I ducked dovn. Nothing bad, vill heal quickly," she said as she glanced back over to Ray.

Pushing her hair back out of her face she sat there for a moment in thought. After a bit she finally learn forward and spoke again, this time her voice was a tad more serious and quiet. "Before ve do anything, need to know hov you are handling all this. Tell me vhat you are feeling and hov you are dealing with it," she said as she sat there. Resting her hands in her lap she waited for him to speak so she could listen carefully and look him over while he did. She had missed signs something was wrong to this level with Sana, she wasn't going to repeat the same mistakes.

"There is no such thing as an ending, just a place where you leave the story. And it is your story now." - Miss Sally
Collab Between: @Lady Amalthea @Caits @Sigil @Morose

Victors eyes widened as he spotted Miss Sally grab her chest. "Oui," he said without thinking, confirming Niesha's original thought on the matter. She had all the signs of a classic heart attack. She was clutching her chest, sweating, and obviously lightheaded considering as Ash reached out to grab her she collapsed in his arms. Froggy had been looking after everyone in Newnan for sometime now and knew their medical records by heart. Thing was, Miss Sally was as healthy as a horse as far as he or Niesha had been able to tell. Granted checking cholesterol levels were not exactly on their top ten things they needed to do in a day list. And yet, her blood pressure was always fine. Yet sometimes these things hit without cause or reason. "Niesha, rush to infirmary. Prep my emergency meds," he said as he rushed over to Miss Sally and started checking her over.

The confirmation snapped Niesha out of her shock like state, and she rushed off even before Victor had finished speaking, rolling through her mind what she needed to collect what they would need, pelting across the grounds with little regard for her own safety. She doubted she had ever run so fast, even since the outbreak. Her own heart was pumping furiously, her breathing hard, and she knew the signs of one of the body's most basic instincts: Fight or flight. Running towards the infirmary, the adrenaline rushing through her body seemed to make everything heightened, but she didn't focus on that.

She thought on what they had in the infirmary, that would help. oxygen tank… saline solution, IV set up… Adrenaline She knew the adrenaline was in low supply, but… that was what it was for.

Bursting through the infirmary doors, Niesha began to gather everything she thought they’d need, grabbing Victor’s meds first, getting them ready, before moving onto anything else. There hadn’t been any indication of Miss Sally having any sort of heart problems, but she wasn’t naive enough to believe that had any standing here. People could have heart attacks at the drop of a hat, without warning. All they could do was get ready and… do their best to save Miss Sally.

Over by the Outer Wall, Jack's eyes darted to Tatiana's wheelchair first, since it was the closest thing and easiest to access. But as Tatiana already started to wheel away with Ray, his eyes then went towards the better option--the red pickup. It'd be better for stability and time as well to get Miss Sally over to medical. Rushing over to it at a sprint, Jack hardly waited a beat before frantically asking Jim for the keys to the truck. "Medical emahgency," Jack offered as a bit of an explanation, taking the keys from Jim as soon as he could, and then hopping inside the truck and driving it as fast as he could over to Miss Sally.

Chloe and Ravi were both awaiting instructions from Froggy, since he was taking lead on this. The two of them were incredibly different, but there was something harmonious about the way they both focused on the task at hand.

Meanwhile, the Captain was only as useful as his physical endurance allowed. He had barked orders to initiate the process of getting Sally to the Infirmary, and the people of Newnan were performing admirably. Ash had a feeling that his role in this emergency was coming to a tapering point now that he heard the truck pull up behind him. He stepped lightly out of the way of the vehicle and spoke urgently to anyone around him, "Someone open the tailgate - help me settle her in." It was less of an order and more of a pressing request. He quickly but carefully sidestepped over to the back of the truck with his precious cargo, looking to the people around him.

"Bloody hell..." Miss Sally grunted as her withered crepe skinned fingers clutched her chest.

"AĂŻe!" Victor exclaimed before looking over towards Ravi and Chloe. He didn't know Ravi, only had just been introduced, and Chloe and him were not on very good terms but they were what he had. "Ash, get her in the back. You," pointing to Ravi, his name escaping him at that moment. "Get tail down," he added pointing to the bed of the truck, "and help Ash move her gently back there." Turning his attention to Chloe he swallowed whatever worry and pride he had. "Rush to infirmary, get spare medical garden keys from office. Let Niesha know we are on our way and go to garden. We need garlic and ginger, and spirits," he said being eying Ash. That would mean turning over his keys to the distillery.

Niesha made sure that she had everything she bought they'd need ready, knowing she would just have to wait now for the team to arrive with Miss Sally. She hated waiting and she shifted nervously, feeling like she was full of energy, and with nothing to do. With nothing else to do, she moved forward, grabbing anything she could to get the floor dry even a little bit, not wanting the them to slip when they came in, knowing they'd all be in a hurry.

She was ready to leap forward and help, to have the gurney ready. There wasn't much more she could do.

Ravi didn't mind being called you. It wasn't too bad a name, compared to things he had been called over the years. Hurrying over to the bed of the truck, he did as requested and got the tail down, ready to assist Ash with getting Miss Sally into the truck. Climbing up onto the bed of the truck, Ravi reached his hands down, intending for Ash to lift her up and allow Ravi to guide her in safely. Getting the best grip underneath her arms as he could, he nodded at Ash. "Count of three, lift her up. One...two...three..." Ashton returned the nod, getting his back into the lift. At the count of three, Miss Sally was given the vertical assist Ravi required to seamlessly get her into the back of the truck. He declined to enter himself; Ash's medical training was sub par compared to actual doctors, and they would need the room to steady and maneuver on their way back up. Instead, he resolved to follow them at a run as soon as they pulled away.

Froggy climbed up into the bed of the truck quickly, kneeling down by Miss Sally and resting his hand over hers while it still clutched her chest. Until they got back to the infirmary there was not much he could do other than give her CPR is she stopped breathing. Right now it was a race against the clock and as soon as he was situated he banged the back window of the truck.

Jack kept the engine running, his head craned back so that way he could see what was going on. The instant Miss Sally (and anyone else who needed to get into the truck) was settled, he'd take them to the infirmary. The roads were a little icy, but things seemed to be melting. He hoped that'd help, since he wanted to get them there as quickly, smoothly, and gently as possible.

Chloe's eyes widened for a moment and she felt something hitch in her throat. Dismissing it as just surprise over Froggy letting her not only into the medical garden, but even adding on access to the distillery...Well, it was something she never expected to happen in Newnan. She nodded to Froggy as a means of showing she understood the instructions, though she'd need to get keys from Ash as well, in addition to the medical garden keys. "Distillery keys, please?" Chloe requested, holding out her hand.

Well, she did say please. Doc needed medical/utility alcohol to help Sally, Chloe had free hands. Ash fished out his keys and disconnected the one labeled with a big "D", forking it over to the younger lady without hesitation. It wasn't a matter of trust, and if it were, then now especially was the time to nurture it. "Labelled 'utility', toward the front. Lock it back."

She then took off, running as fast as she could. Chloe coughed a bit but didn't start, sprinting as if her life depended on it. She rushed through the inner gate and made a beeline to the infirmary and then headed into Froggy's office. "Froggy needs stuff from the garden. Said to tell you they'd all be here shortly," Chloe offered as explanation. She realized it didn't look very good, having the drug addict sprint to the infirmary and grab the keys she wasn't allowed to have, before darting out the door and towards the medical garden.

"Ash, front cab. Need hands to get her down once we get there and hold all the doors," Froggy said before adding, "Jack, go." This was a medical emergency, and Victor was the Medical Lead. Ash's response was that of immediate deferral to the man, as he nodded and climbed into the passenger's seat without hesitation. This was his area of expertise. Miss Sally had a better chance for survival with the Doc calling the shots.

The Bostonite obliged and began driving quickly and carefully to the infirmary, listening carefully just in case Froggy had any further instructions. He just hoped that they'd get there in time. Once they were off Froggy grabbed the radio on his hip and turned it to the medical channel hoping that Niesha would hear it go off. "Niesha, on our way, have gurney by curb out front ready," he radioed to her.

Glancing to the radio, Niesha didn't know what she was feeling. If they were bringing Miss Sally and wanting the gurney it had to mean she was still okay, didn't it? Or was that a foolish hope? Grabbing the gurney, Niesha moved into action, bringing it outside and then working out a way to keep the doors open, seeking to make things easier.

Or maybe she was just trying to keep her hands busy.

Chloe coughed again as she reached the medical garden, quickly inserting the key into the lock and turning it. She tried her best not to think about the fight she had had with Ryan on that very spot the previous night and the emotional turmoil it had sparked. Pushing open the door, she pulled the keys out before fetching the needed garlic and ginger. Chloe made sure to get an ample amount, estimating just a little bit more than what Froggy would likely need to treat Miss Sally with. Leaving the garden, she locked it back up before putting that key in her pocket and then taking out the distillery key.

The infirmary was almost a midpoint between the two places, making Chloe a bit tempted to stop and drop off what she had collected so far. But given that she didn't see the truck yet, she figured making a beeline for the distillery and then hurrying back would be the best option. She was really regretting not sprinting more often by the time she got there, coughing slightly once more before inserting the key Ash had given her into the lock. Recalling his words, she went to the front and grabbed the needed spirits, locking back up on her way out. She then began to race back towards the infirmary, a bit slower this time in an effort to not slip and drop the alcohol.

Victor kept an eye on Sally as Jack drove them as quickly as he could towards the Infirmary. The inner gate was held open for them thankfully so that didn't slow them down, a bit of ice still chunked up on the road did a bit. Yet all in all they managed to get there without any major issues. Spotting Niesha and the gurney he stood up in the back of the truck, his hand resting on the top of the cab. "There Jack, by the curb! Niesha, get oxygen tank and mask, she's having problem breathing," he yelled out as he cupped his free hand to the side of his mouth. Kneeling down by Sally he opened her eyes to check them and then her pulse, it wasn't good and she seemed to be drifting. "Stay with us madam," he said in a stern voice.

Jack pulled them over to the curb, parking the truck quickly and taking the keys out of the ignition. He then went around towards the back and opened the tailgate, figuring that he could assist Ash and Ravi with getting Miss Sally out of the truck. There wasn't much else that he could do for her. Ash was out of the vehicle at the same time, paralleling Jack's movement to the back. His only value in that moment lay in his ability to keep a clear head and reliably lift things. It wasn't much, but it was necessary.

Niesha ducked back inside quickly, grabbing the tank she'd already prepared, and rushing back out, holding the tank, she made sure everything was right before checking the gurney, making sure the breaks worked, before waiting, ready to get the mask into place, watching the truck anxiously come down the road. It didn't seem fast enough and it toon a lot of will power it to rush out there.

She dashed forward when it finally stopped, with the tank and mask, "how is she?"

Ravi felt a wave of relief when he saw Niesha appear with the gurney, also spotting the other redhead hurry into the building. Chloe had gathered everything Froggy had asked her to grab and was setting things down, so that way they could be used and administered. The easiest way to get Miss Sally onto the gurney, he figured, would be to carefully lift her up a bit and almost slide her over until she was on top of it. "If Jack steadies the gurney," Ravi began, remembering Jack's name only from Froggy shouting it a few seconds earlier. "Then the Captain and I can slide her onto it," Ravi finished, crouching on his feet next to Miss Sally.

Froggy jumped down and looked over to Niesha. "Steady as she can be now, make sure to get the doors for them and then get to the OR and scrub," he said as started to shrug his coat off.

Ash quickly stepped over to Ravi, on the other side of Miss Sally. He bent his knees low, bracing to transition her onto the gurney. "One, two, three, go, okay?" he stated quickly, emphasizing the word "go" to indicate that they should move after the number, rather than on it. Tiny piece of possible confusion averted. They had a couple of seconds before he gurney was ready, might as well get the details sorted. "You make the call."

"Bollocks! Careful with an old woman! I'm delicate," Miss Sally grunted from between her clenched teeth.

Froggy couldn't help but smile at her spit and fire, it meant she still had fight back in her. Giving Niesha a quick nod he rushed off towards the infirmary and into the OR, his hand reaching for the soap and sink before he even came to a stop. He needed to get cleaned up and quick.

Niesha nodded, moving towards the doors, making sure they were open, and that they weren't going to have any trouble getting Miss Sally in, before she dashed off to get cleaned up, pausing a moment to duck in and check that she had everything set up and ready, not wanting to have to rush out later. Satisfied, she rushed back, starting to get cleaned up.

Ravi broke a smile at Miss Sally's exclamation. Jack was holding the gurney steady, just waiting for Ash and Ravi to slide the woman onto it. Taking a deep breath, Ravi nodded at Ash. "One...two...three...go!" Ravi said, before lifting Miss Sally up and awkwardly shuffling over towards the gurney. Once he and Ash had gotten her on top of it, Ravi nodded at the Captain, giving a verbal "lower her gently, now," before doing just that. Seeing Miss Sally on the gurney took a big weight off of Ravi's shoulders.

Ravi then clambered out of the truck and got a good grip on the gurney, before rushing Miss Sally into medical. Jack continued to assist the man, not wanting them to lose control of the gurney and send Miss Sally spinning. "In the OR, through those doors," Chloe said quickly, pointing in the direction Froggy and Niesha had gone. Ravi nodded at the ginger woman and took Miss Sally in that direction. "Almost there, Miss Sally. Stiff upper lip, yeah? We'll have a spot of tea after this is all over and we'll have a good laugh..." Ravi encouraged, seemingly even more British due to stress.

"When you're done with that tea, Miss Sally, I'll get you a glass of something that'll thin out your blood and put the heat back in your belly." It was delivered with the same stoic tone that he used any time there was a job to do or an emergency afoot, but one might have detected the suggestion of optimistic humor, or a reasonable facsimile thereof. He was accompanying the gurney to the OR doors, but figured that he didn't belong in there while proper doctors and medical staff were at work. He was an able bodied set of hands, though. One of those can find a purpose almost anywhere. It would still be an act of decency to inquire into it, as he didn't want to get in the way of the Medical Staff. "You need me in or out, Doc?" he asked, directed at Froggy.

Shaking off his hands Victor glanced towards Ash and Jack. "Oui, out is best. We can take it from here mon capitaine," Froggy said quickly. He understood that Jack and Ash might want to stay close just in case but he had Niesha, Chloe, and the new comer. All were medically trained on at least some level. Jack and Ash were better to get out of their way now and let them work. "You too, go tend to little bird. This is no place for honeymooner," he added to Jack before motioning to the door. Jack nodded and headed out the door, giving one last glance back towards Miss Sally as he hoped things would be alright. Ash nodded in agreement, but stayed for a moment; just long enough to speak to Froggy. "Radio me as soon as you have an update, Doc. Do a good job, huh?" He then moved to join Jack outside, leaving the Doctor and his staff to their work.

"Niesha, gloves," he said getting down to business as he stepped over to Miss Sally and held his hands out to Niesha. "Chloe, Bunsen burner, steep items from medical garden, prep in IV. Ravi, take spirits and give Miss Sally here a good long drink," he said before smiling down at the old woman. She cocked a brow slightly through the pain. "Need thin your blood to stop clots," he explained and she nodded. He didn't like going about it this way, it could mess with any drugs he needed to give her; among other things. Yet they were short on a lot of things right then so they had to make due and just hope that the dice fell in their favor.

Retrieving the gloves, Niesha assisted Victor in putting them on, opening the sterile packet, and holding the gloves steady. Once that was done, she retrieved gloves for herself, having a small bit of difficulty getting the gloves on. With sterile gloves, you had to get one half on, get the other on, and then pull the first one all the way on without touching the outside of the gloves with your bare hands. A skill that took some practice, but one that drastically reduced contamination, something she was sure all of them would be happy about, for Miss Sally.

She gave a small sigh at having to use alcohol for anti-coagulants, but recognized their situation. If she'd had time, or had thought ahead, there were things that could be made, which would be better then alcohol, but... they'd use what they had. She checked everything once more, perhaps a little paranoid that she'd forgotten something, "How's the pain?" she asked Miss Sally, wanting to make sure things hadn't become worse, reaching over for some Aspirin, knowing it could help with both pain and longer term management of blood clots- it was just too slow to work right then.

Ravi knew enough about the dangers of drug interactions to feel hesitant, but it didn't show in his actions. Pouring a bit of the spirits into a cup that Miss Sally could actually grasp, he brought it over to Miss Sally. "Drink this, yeah?" Ravi encouraged, tilting the cup back and holding onto it, not knowing if Miss Sally had the strength to hold it herself as she drank. He just hoped that there wouldn't be any harmful interactions. He had been good friends with a chemist back in Seattle and couldn't help but wish she could have been here. He didn't know that Newnan was capable of manufacturing medicine, after all.

Miss Sally took a few gulps of the spirits before groaning. She was starting to look weaker and her fingers were shaking as they clutched her chest. This was not looking good at this point but it was what they had. "Ouch..." she said, trying to respond to Niesha.

Chloe had gotten the bunsen burner set up, getting the flame going with just one try of the striker. Sometimes it took a lot more, so the ginger couldn't help but be thankful. Adjusting the flame to the proper temperature, she got everything set up to steep, combining the ingredients taken from the medical garden. She was aware of her surroundings, but she had a narrow focus. Any distractions could cause a mistake that would in turn put Miss Sally's life in jeopardy if her IV wasn't properly prepared. As soon as the ingredients were done steeping, Chloe finished up prepping the IV, feeling a bit of tension leave her shoulders. "IV ready," Chloe said simply, bringing it over.

Victor grabbed a pair of scissors and cut away the sleeve on Miss's Sallys right arm. "Niesha, start CPR!" he ordered a bit louder than he had expected. Tossing the sheers to the side he tied off Miss Sally's arm and grabbed the IV line, trying to find a vein on the old woman. He couldn't. "Chloe, you do it," he said handing it over. The reason wasn't because of her training but because of her known drug habits. If anyone could get that line into her vein it was Chloe at this point.

It had been nearly four years since Chloe had done any recreational drugs, but finding a vein was so easy that it was like she never stopped. The IV line in one hand, Chloe located one with the other, before steadily inserting the line. It felt good to be useful for once, even if it wasn't quite in the way she expected. Her drug addiction was paying off. Irony.

"Adrenaline," he added as he looked at Ravi, and pointed over to the set up Niesha had set up for them.

Niesha jumped at the order, leaping into action, she began chest compressions, in an automatic way, counting off thirty evenly spaced compressions that imitated a heart beat, without hesitation, she gave two breaths before continuing the compressions, ready to continue the ritual for as long as necessary.

Victor looked down at the IV line and nodded slightly in approval. Sure the girl had been a drug addict but it was paying off right then. She had just done what he couldn't and as much as he kept her at arms length because of her past, he couldn't not acknowledge the work she was doing right now.

"One... Two... three... " she counted to herself under her breath, while in her head she repeated over and over gin, and tonic to keep her compressions at the right beat.

Ravi hurried over to Niesha's set up, his eyes glancing over the objects before he found the adrenaline. Grabbing the adrenaline, Ravi came back over to Miss Sally, flicking the needle slightly to disperse any air bubbles that may have formed, just in case. They would need to use it to keep her heart beating. He handed the adrenaline over to Froggy, the needle all ready to go.

Reaching over Froggy took the syringe from Ravi and took a deep breath. "Niesha hold compression's." The Frenchman needed to see if a pulse was going or not at this point. Chloe and Ravi both paused as well, awaiting further instructions from Froggy, both hoping for a pulse.

Niesha rocked back onto her heels, but was ready to continue at a moments notice. "Do we need the defibrillator?" she asked, prepared to get it ready, stepping back to quickly grab the resuscitation bag.

Victor didn't answer at first, checking to see if Miss Sally had a pulse. He couldn't find one. "Yes," he said as he set the syringe down on the tray and grabbed the scissors. Cutting away at her blouse before handing them out for someone to take off his hands. It didn't matter who took them as long as they were out of his way. Moving her clothing out of the way quickly so that the area was clear for shocking. Chloe grabbed the pair of scissors, taking them from Froggy's hands before setting them aside, just in case they would be needed again.

Niesha grabbed the defibrillator, thinking that things were going from bad to worse, but that she wasn't going to give up. She gave it to Victor, and began to continue CPR, once more counting, ready to move out the way for the shock. Stimulating a heart beat right now was the most important thing- if they could keep her going, even for a little bit, it could hold back the turn, bring her back. "come on" she said softly, "come back, this place still needs you" she looked up, ready to step back the moment she needed to, but she wasn't about to let up on the compressions, "will someone get the resusbag going?" she asked

"On it," Ravi replied. He got the resuscitation bag's mask and slipped it over Miss Sally's face, ensuring that it sealed tightly to her skin. Her mouth was open underneath it, and mentally checking that off from the lists of steps, Ravi then attached bag itself to the mask. He then connected the bag through a tube to the oxygen source, remembering the ratio of two breaths administered for every thirty compressions. Ravi made sure he was out of the way of Froggy and Niesha, counting Niesha's compressions and beginning to administer two breaths after every thirty.

"Clear," Froggy announced as he stood there, watching Miss Sally's chest and waiting for everyone to step back.

Pressing the pads to Miss Sallys chest, he gave her a shock. Her body tensed and her back arched slightly. Taking both paddles in one hand he checked her pulse, still nothing. "Compression's again," he said quickly as he went to up to the current on the defibrillator.

Niesha stepped back as soon as the order was given, watching and waiting, and as soon as she could, she started the compressions again, knowing they just needed a bit of luck, just a bit today. An ache was forming in Nieshas back, but she knew that would go away soon, her body was warming up at the exercetion, but Niesha was not going to give up. Ravi continued to administer breaths, looking at Miss Sally with a bit of pain. Froggy wouldn't have been upping the current on the defibrillator if there had been a pulse.

"I can relieve you if you need it," Chloe offered to Niesha, knowing that compressions could take a lot out of a person. She always remembered the proper timing by humming Stayin' Alive to herself, rather than a specific ratio.

"Clear," Victor said quickly and waited for everyone to get away from Miss Sally enough to where it was safe. Another shock, another check of the pulse. Still nothing. So he tried again. And again. Each time waiting a little bit less between shocks, a few less compressions, a few less breaths from the bag. Shaking his head, it wasn't looking good and he finally grabbed the adrenaline and administered it. Still nothing.... More shocks, more compressions, more breaths from the bag, more shocks. He kept trying, kept speaking to her to wake up, to hang in there, kept telling everyone in the room - one more try.

That was until they had passed a bakers dozen in shocks and he finally dropped the pads on the floor. Shaking his head slowly. "Call it..." he said quietly, to no one in particular as he stepped away and went to retrieve his knife from his jacket pocket. There was still one last thing to do.

Niesha shook her head to Chloe, knowing she'd go on as long as she could. She refused to give up. As time went by, and more and more shocks were administered, she didn't let it get to her. She wasn't going to give up. There had to be a chance.

Until Victor called it. Giving up? It didn't seem like an option to Niesha. Not after everything. They couldn't give up, could they? She kept on going, feeling like she'd be a failure otherwise. She didn't want to watch someone else die, someone else slip away, without truly trying everything she could. What was left that they could try?

Tears stinging her eyes, she wasn't sure if they fell, or just mixed in with the sweat on her face. How could she give up? "come on, come on!" she said softly in a heated tone, aware that Victor was retrieving his knife. "come back to us" she said desperately, knowing it was the last chance.

Victor looked over sadly at Niesha as she kept trying. It didn't matter how long they had been at it it seemed Niesha was not going to give up. He couldn't blame her, he didn't want to loose Miss Sally either and he remembered the first time he lost a patient... He stayed there, trying for nearly six hours. His mentor couldn't get him to stop. "Mon cheri.. Rule one of being a doctor: some times people die. Rule two: doctors can't change rule one..." he said in an understanding but sorrowful voice as he rested his hand on her shoulder.

"Time of death: 10:42 AM," Chloe announced, reading it from the clock on the wall. She knew that Niesha wasn't willing to give up on Miss Sally, with Ravi continuing to administer breaths as tears fell from his face as well. He may not have known Miss Sally very long, but he had taken a liking to her. She was a little bit of the past and the country that he had lost. "Froggy, let me do that. You don't have to be the one to do this," Chloe then added softly, holding her hand out for the knife. No one should have to put down someone they loved and cared about. While Chloe felt a little sad that Miss Sally had slipped away, she never really knew the woman or had gotten close to her.

Victor shook his head as he gripped the dagger. "No belle, this is the way," he said quietly as he motioned for Ravi to move back. "Help Niesha step back."

That was it then, it was over... her last few compression were weak, as she slowed to a stop, closing her eyes. Niesha didn't move back, only shifted so she could hold one of Miss Sally's hands, knowing that she wasn't there anymore, but feeling like... feeling like the contact was important, that it was something human, while what had to be done was done.

Failing like this.... just seemed wrong, so completely wrong, but if there wasn't anything left they could do... She looked away, not wanting to see what happened.

Ravi took a step back, looking on at Miss Sally, after removing the resus bag and mask from her face. He wanted nothing more for her to gasp and exclaim that the British were too tough to be killed by a heart attack. He then numbly set them down on the counter where they belonged, his eyes only leaving her for a second.

Chloe nodded. She wasn't going to argue with Froggy over this. She put a hand on Niesha's shoulder, letting her hold onto Miss Sally until it was over. She'd pull her away from it then, not being one to rob Niesha of her goodbye. If Chloe was religious, she would've been able to better comfort Niesha. Instead, all she could offer was a simple whisper of "She's not in pain anymore."

Victor knelt down next to Miss Sally and brushed her hair back from her face. "Reste en paix, mon amour," he said softly to her before pressing a kiss to her brow. He let his lips rest there as he drove the steel tip of the blade into the base of her skull. A few tears slipping from his eyes as he closed them tight, drawing the blade back slowly and standing.

Into the Wilderness!

Starring: Ryan, Beatrice, Gavin, and James
Location: Outside of Newnan

"Well if Ash was going exile James, least he could do was give him the fucking Hordebuster. Then we wouldn't have to dodge shit and could just plow right through it," Ryan groaned as they bumped along the roads. Yeah, the Hordebuster as Ash called it would have been perfect for exiling someone Ash obviously didn't want to get rid of. Rubbing his knee a bit Ryan rested his head on the back of the rear window and sighed. His ass was going to go numb if they kept things at this rate.

"Why give the Hordebuster to a dead man?" Beatrice asked, raising an eyebrow. Exile was akin to a death sentence in these days--or at least, that was how it was viewed. She had come to the conclusion that they were just as safe inside Newnan as they were outside, but not everyone had. Others still believed that the walls kept them safe. In that light, James' exile was just a stay in execution. She doubted that anyone in Newnan truly believed that they would see James again. Did it matter if he died the day he left or a year after? It'd be the same result to them. No sense in wasting one of their most valuable resources. "Besides, I know you've experienced conditions worse than these," Beatrice pointed out, though she wasn't referring to weather.

"Fuckin' deal man! A victory lap on the Speedway, maybe's some of them drivers cars be there. Wouldn't that be somethang? Droppin' the hammer, pealing out likes we ain't gots nothin' to lose and tearin' that place up like Deliverance! Fuck yeah!" the cowboy exclaimed excitedly. It really didn't take much to make the man happy it seemed. Granted living to that point was another matter but Gavin wasn't concerned about that. He was never concerned with surviving or dying, he just lived.

"Hells yeah! Good times..." The discussion of hypotheticals was a bit of a distraction for James. It helped get his mind off of the fact that, earlier that morning, he had put down two friends of his who had died and then joined the ranks of the "Famous Axe Murderers in History: Apocalypse Edition" trading cards for what he did to the man he felt was responsible, and who was poised to harm others. He tried to forget that he lost his home that he spent so much time trying to make into a decent place for good, honest folk, and that he would probably never see these people ever again. It began to weigh on him. The chit-chat was a welcome thing upon which to focus.

Ryan chuckled a bit. "Hey maybe we wouldn't be dead men walking if we had the hordebuster. Not like Ash wouldn't enjoy making a new one, hell might get him out of that ass funk he's been in for the last YEAR," Ryan laughed as the thought crossed his mind that they could have just "borrowed" it for a bit at least. Sure James was exiled but he and Beatrice weren't. It gave him something to think about.

"Pssh. There's hardly any evidence that Ash wasn't born just like that," Beatrice countered. "And he'll die the same way." From what she had seen, at least, the man was so tightly wound up he was on the edge of breaking. The pressure must have been getting to him, with the man being all business and no pleasure. She wouldn't have been that surprised if Ash took his own life one of these days. That wasn't to say that she didn't respect the man--she just doubted his mental state was in good shape anymore.

In a short time, the truck pulled up to the intersection of 4th and Boone. James paused the forward momentum of the vehicle long enough to get a good, clear view down the road. "Hot damn!" he exclaimed. "Warm damn anyways... But hey! Clear far as I can tell." he turned (another frigging left) onto Boone Drive, and headed south to pick back up with the intersection.

"Let's hope it be stayin' that way," Gavin said as he kept an eye out on the road ahead of them. It was clear for now, or at least seemed to be. Hopefully they had run into the worst of the blockades for now.

Ryan glanced over to Beatrice with a slight smirk on his face. "Yeah if he doesn't get laid or a high colonic, or both he will probably pop his own head."

Now headed south over generally open road, James risked some optimism. They neared the intersection of Boone and LaGrange without sudden and catastrophic incident, which seemed like a tiny miracle all its own. Peering out to the left, James could make out the initial obstruction that prevented the otherwise simple journey to their upcoming destination. But no turn for him, not this time. They were going to continue across the street, watching the name of the road change from Boone Drive to Waterworks Road.

"Fucking hell, are we driving in circles?" Ryan asked as he leaned up and looked around a bit more.

Across the way from them loomed the old Newnan High School grounds. It might have made an interesting place to set up their growing community, what with the chainlink fences and security doors, open grounds for planting, and clear lines of sight, but their overall choice to make the Newnan downtown was much more friendly, like what the world used to be like. Not that he was present for it; he had been on a number of runs in this area and the story had filtered down to him. It would have made a decent spot, too. But the school wasn't their destination, just a sight along the way. "Aight, we almost where we need to be. Past this school an' down the road a piece."

"Sweets, cause I need to drain the pool, mys back teeths are flootin'. What's I get fer not remembin' what my mamma told - always go before you go," Gavin said as he sat there and rested his elbow on the doors arm rest; contemplating whether he would sign his name in the snow or draw a flower.

Beatrice spotted the high school building and frowned ever so slightly. "I hope the school isn't our destination. It'll be overrun by now--and it's a high school, which automatically makes it horrible," Beatrice remarked. She hadn't enjoyed high school that much. It had been a bit of a rough time for her as she transitioned from bouncing in and out of juvi in Justice to living with a stable family and going to a decent public school.

"Shit, I'd trade finals for this hellhole anyday," Ryan chuckled. Not that he ever showed up for finals but hey, skipping them for a smoke out back of the school instead of watching your back for deadies constantly seemed like a step up from here.

"You gotta make water now?" questioned James, looking at Gavin oddly. "You know theys had workin' toilets an' such back in Newnan, right? Probably last time either of us ever gonna hear "tinkle tinkle flush" in our lives." A slight smile crossed his face as he continued. This wasn't about any exasperation on his part with an inconvenience, oh no. James was ranting for the sake of humor at this point. "Now, this might be a good thing, y'hear? If'n we get another down tree you an' Mr. Happy can just blast it out the way, can't ya? Now, I ain't got no soda bottle you can piss into, but if the mood takes, you can roll down the window an' Hang Yo Wang out, leave us a trail to follow back. You know, just in case."

Gavin started chuckling and seriously considering doing just that. "Hell man I do that, you can bet yer buttered biscuit them two will high tail it rights backs to Newnan."

James briefly considered making some sort of joke out of the phrase "Hang Yo Wang", likening it to a Chinese take-out joint. Instead, he just mentioned in a calmer voice, "Or we could just stop fo a minute." Struck with a sudden thought, James asked Gavin another question, "Ey, Tex, can you open that back window? I wanna see how the folks back there're doin'."

Nodding, Gavin turned in his seat a bit and opened the back window before poking his head out of it and grinning like dog that just caught a bone. "Howdy, how's is hangin'?"

"We've resorted to cannibalism in order to survive these conditions," Beatrice answered dryly, pausing for a moment. "We're fine. Irish is complaining but he excels at that. It's one of his special skills." The changing weather, combined with the bumps in the road, were a bit irksome to Beatrice as well but she didn't feel like voicing her feelings about them. Ryan wasn't wrong however. The hordebuster would've been a much more pleasant trip, along with increased chances of survival for them all.

"Cannibalism? Naw. Nuh uh, not in my truck you ain't eatin' anybody, ya freaks..." said James jokingly. He kept his eyes on the road as he spoke to them, only occasionally glancing into the rearview mirror to ensure that his guests were able to understand. He continued in a louder voice to be heard over the sound of road and engine, "Aight, way looks clear headin' down. We 'bout a mile or less from where we're needin' to be. Everybody sit tight. Cap'n made sure we started out okay."

Passing the high school, the road became a little narrower, surrounded by heavier foliage. The trees allowed for the snow to cling for a while longer, but the path remained open and unblocked for as far as could be seen. The next couple of minutes rolled by as the truck ambled down the more secluded piece of blacktop. Their way gently sloped south and curved to the east, passing the old City Water Treatment Facility. "Almost there now!" called James, eager to have this first leg of their journey done.

The road took a more dramatic turn to the northeast, exposing a grand vision of water and trees, occasionally dotted by smaller structures. James took them ever along that road, even as it turned slightly away from the lake. The trees parted to reveal another building; a much larger one hidden by the greenery from every direction but straight on and from limited angle, with a fading sign reading "Newnan Utilities Warehouse". James's Silverado pulled around to the back of the building, to loading doors large enough to fit a semi trailer into with ease. The entire building looked padlocked and nailed shut. And James had his keys confiscated by Security prior to their exit from Newnan. "We here. First order, lady and gents, we gotta get us an' this here truck inside that building, lock her back up tight. Any y'all got some bolt cutters?"

Agriculture - 101

Thana nodded as she looked around, noting flowers growing in the greenhouse and remembering the ones that were at the wedding the day before. Whoever had tended to them had a bit of a green thumb, she wondered if it was James or someone else that worked with Agriculture. Turning she looked over to Kris. "Well, depending on the staff numbers for Agriculture we might break it into two parts. Agriculture and Livestock," she said in passing before removing her fingers from the petals she had been touching.

"Everything needs improvement. It's not a bad set up but we can do better, a lot better. Starting with a larger greenhouse for year round growing and planting vining plants along the walls that can grab on and catch run off from rain on the wall as well as condensation in the mornings. Will give us a steady fruit yield three quarters of the year," she added as she stepped out of the small greenhouse and glanced around. Spotting several working on clean up and the looks on peoples faces as they saw the remains of the Richards deaths on the ground. Shaking her head a bit she looked back at Kris. Who all still works with Agriculture currently and other than James did we lose anyone in this department?" she asked, not blinking an eye to the ongoings on the other side of the street.

Kristina watched as Thana looked at some of the flowers that were in the greenhouse as she gave a slight nod, things probably could use some improvement and increasing the yield and building a larger greenhouse that could keep plants in there all year round would be a good idea. She started to follow her out of the greenhouse. "I know Sid is the lead for the medical garden, Chloe also works the medical garden as well under supervision though. And just me working livestock and crops, those are the only people I know of."

She could see the small mess that was still there, and looked away before making her way over towards the medical garden. "I don't have access to the medical garden, but it's guarded twenty four seven. All I know that grows in there is, lavender, willow tree, garlic, sage, marijuana, sunflower, chive, aloe, witch hazel, horseradish, ginger and milkweed."

"I see, well then I will have to wait for Captain Holloway to show me the medical garden then," Thana commented as she went over things in her head. "From what you are saying though we don't exactly have many working on food around here. That is going to need to change if we want to keep crops going and actually build up stores. How many people actually live in this city? I think I have seen a lot of them but unsure of the numbers."

Kristina nodded as she started to think about the numbers that were in Newnan, there was quiet a number of people in town. "Lets see we have ninety three people living in town, fourteen people under the age of eighteen, twelve over the age of fifty, sixty seven between the ages of eighteen and fifty." Kristina said remembering them off the bat. "So all together fifty two women, and fourty one men living in town." Kristina answered.

Thana cocked a brow and then she smiled over to Kris. It was an appreciative smile and one that showed just a little bit of respect to the young farm hand. "The fact you can rattle those statistics off the top of your head like that is rather impressive. Yous got an eye for detail and remembering things most would over look," she said before glancing around and pulling the brim of her cap down a bit. "You're going to take over as Lead of Livestock and Second of Agriculture. I will inform Captain of it. That is if you want the job. It's going to be a lot of work but I think you'll do well."

Kristina noticed Thana's smile and returned it as well, as she rubbed the back of her neck for a moment, she wasn't actually expecting some praise. "I just try my best to listen to those around me is all." Then she met Thana's gaze when she said she was going to promote her to lead of livestock and being her second when it comes to agriculture. Kris remembered when she had been reunited with her sister that she was the previous agriculture lead before she died and James took over. "I would be honored to do it."

Looking around Thana watched the people as they moved by. "Glad to hear it. Go on and get you some breakfast, Agriculture has the day off other than half to details like feeding and watering. Will meet with all of you tomorrow," she said before glancing over to Kris and giving he a slight smile. "Dismissed."

Kristina gave Thana a nod and smile, she was pretty hungry now as she watched some people walking past them, then Thana said she had the rest of the day off. "Thank you again, and I wont let you down. If you do need me for anything i'll be free." Kristina said as she gave her a slight wave before making her way over towards the Inner Wall.

Raymond Mendoza

Location: Mess Hall

Raymond started to eat his breakfast as he looked towards Tatiana's foot for a moment, the gunshot probably did wake up the whole town it looks like she had already been to treated. Then things turned serious as Tatiana leaned forward and asked him how he was doing, Ray leaned back in his seat as he finished eating. Closing his eyes for a moment, the news was just as shocking he and Sana didn't talk that often. "Honestly? Still just trying to process everything that happened." Ray said letting out a slight sigh as he remembered meeting Sana back at Franklin, he had just lost his leg and her brother volunteered to go to Newnan he still felt like he had a part in her brother's death in some way.

"Maybe if I hadn't lost my leg, her brother probably would still be here now or they didn't end up getting caught up in that Walker Horde when I was being transported here for the first time." Raymond said as he leaned forward and looked at Tatiana. "And maybe if Dick wasn't an asshole towards her all the time, she wouldn't have killed herself." Ray didn't like Richard like everyone else, and he treated just about everyone like shit Sana included. Ray didn't know Bryn all that well, she was pretty quiet and didn't speak much if not very few words to each other. "And Bryn would probably still be alive to."

Riley sat in her seat eating some more of her breakfast as she looked between Tatiana and Raymond, she had a gut feeling that she would most likely be the next person to have her brain poked and prodded at and how she was feeling. Riley decided to get out of there before the two of them waved her over. Riley grabbed a handful of her food and started to quickly eat it down, turning around holding her plate Riley made her way towards the dirty dishes went.

Setting them down Riley turned around and started to make her way out of the Mess Hall taking a deep breath as Riley stepped out of the building and looked around. She hadn't seen her sister since the big goodbye for James, the thing with Miss Sally Riley hoped that Miss Sally was doing alright she decided to head back to her place and get somethings sorted out.

Location: North Of Newnan (Veterans Memorial Park - Corner of Temple Ave. & Jackson St.)

Thalia smiled through a mouthful of MRE pound cake at her friend, letting out a semi-sarcstic "Mmm hmm." while Lola went on, mostly in response to her being crazy and/or preferring to stay on an aircraft carrier. She swallowed hard, getting the last of the preserved confection down. Thalia ignored the comment about her giving away food or drink, but she understood where it came from. The girl did like to eat, given the opportunity. But this was drink powder, sacrificed for an opportunity. And a coffee mug. Admittedly, mostly the coffee mug.

"Sweetie, you're annoying as leftover fuck sometimes." She focused her hard hazel eyes to Lola's, "I question why I decided to crawl into a strange woman's TANK months ago. And you know that I prefer solitude." Her eyes softened. "You knowing this, I wouldn't change our little setup either. We got a good thing here." She peeked a rare smile, apparently deciding that warm and fuzzy time was over. "And yes, aircraft carrier. Without question. Wicked grande aircraft carrier." Thalia unzipped her jacket. She was just beginning to notice the change in temperature.

Thalia's emotional/bitch moment was smashed as the radio issued what was, in her estimation, two of the least credible trucker's handles she'd had the misfortune to hear. She looked over to Lola, her face warped by embarrassment for the man into a singular "What The Fuck?" moment. Thalia didn't know exactly how to act in a manner that wasn't massively offputting, so instead gingerly set the radio down on the tank nearby without responding. "Yeah. That's just disturbing."

When Alexander returned, mostly successful in his mission, Thalia just nodded her head with mouth slightly agape. After shoving the best of her comments back down someplace deep and quiet, she broke her stunned silence. "So hey there, ah, Grey Hawk?" Her Boston was flaring quite colorfully in her accent just then, "Don't eva call me that again, aur you'll be wearing this aun the inside. Okay?" The survivalist formerly known as Steel Chicken snatched up the radio and pressed it into Alexander's outstretched hand.

"As for your cocoa, the deal was for coffee mugs, Pops. Plural. Whole point was for you to get a cup for yourself and have some motivation to get it frigging done. Plus I get something out of the deal for being such a Samaritan. This..." She examined the coffee mug, and stared at the man with an expression that screamed exasperation. "World's. Greatest. Lover." Thalia blinked once, slowly and thoughtfully. "Yeah, I give up." she whispered, apathetically tossing him the packet of Instant Cocoa.

"Look, we had a heart-to-heart while you were away, and the phrase of the hour was "down the road a march". That's where we left off when Steel Chicken happened. That's where we're at now."

Exit Stage Left

Starring: Ash and Jack
Location: Outside Medical

As Jack headed out of the main infirmary area, the glass cases caught his eye for a moment. He didn't know most of the people memorialized there, but the ones he did know brought a sad smile to his face. It was a neat idea his wife had come up with, one that he figured helped a lot of people. If only it had been enough to help James as well. They'd need to collect items from today's deceased shortly and Jack couldn't help but wonder if they'd need to find something similar to do for those they exiled that day, in order to help the community heal. But this wasn't his area of expertise and he didn't have any authority there--that was for Tatiana to decide.

Jack just hoped that Miss Sally wouldn't be added to the collection of shrines that day. "Got anythin' for me, boss?" Jack asked quietly.

Ash glanced over to Jack as he asked his question, then back at the doors to their makeshift operating room. He sighed, somewhat frustrated that he could not do more than he already had and knowing that his presence would be detrimental to Sally's well being. If only they had a proper hospital, if only the Dead hadn't risen to eat them all, if only, if only, if only. He let the thought die there. Not a thing to do about it. This was the world. Plus, while they might not have the same kind of networked facility that existed Before, they had as good of a setup as anyone could really claim then. Miss Sally was in as good a place as was humanly possible.

To the question at hand, he cleared his throat and looked to his new Second, saying, "Yes, um, Than.." he shook his head, "Dr. Martin requested James's keys, schedules, and the like. Schedules are posted in Agro, but I believe that Security confiscated his keys and walkie. If you could get on the horn and locate those for her, it would help." Ash still had the notebooks that James handed him before his departure, he had tucked them into his back waistband when the emergency happened. But they were James's plans. Thana might have other ideas. Still probably something to hand over.

Jack nodded. "On it. And Ash...if you need anythin' at all, like to talk or somethin', I may not be a therapist but I'm a damn good listenah," Jack offered. The day wasn't even half over and it already been filled with so much loss and tragedy. As a friend, Jack didn't want Ash to feel alone. He knew that he had lost his best bud that day and Miss Sally was in critical condition. It was a lot--it was too much for one day. Of course, Jack caught the near slip up with Dr. Martin's name on Ash's part. With any luck, the man was getting some. He needed it.

Jack then took out his radio, his mind back on the clock. "Security team - this is Jack. Need a location on James' walkie and keys."

"I appreciate that, Jack." said Ash. "I'm not much of a talker, I'm afraid." But maybe he should be. About a year had passed since he withdrew into himself almost fully. People he had cared about died. People he might have become close to had died - gone out like heroes. He suddenly missed the pair that previously occupied Little Scandinavia, despite the current set of difficulties they had before them. Perhaps the exile of James and Sally's sudden health scare just got him thinking about the fragility of it all. And how he needed to take the absent blackneck's advice from a while ago, and let himself open up to people around him. Invite them in. "Whenever we're done for the day, there's a little ritual we have that I'd like you to attend. If it's alright with Tatiana, of course. When newcomers arrive or we have a round of promotions, we tend to meet in the back of the Hordebuster with a bottle of something flammable, talk things out."

"It's not mandatory, if you need to be with your wife." he started for the front doors, "Let's take a walk."

"I'll check in with Tati about it," Jack said. He knew Tatiana couldn't drink and that the invitation was for him, but he wanted to run it by her regardless. It'd likely be good for Ash's spirits, something that Jack thought could use some lifting. And of course, the Boston native did enjoy alcohol, something that had become more of a luxury lately. "But I'd like to be there," Jack added. He didn't want Ash to get the wrong idea and he didn't think it was a good idea for Ash to be alone.

"I'd appreciate." remarked Ash, still headed for the door. He looked at the notebooks in his hand. They were the last thing James had given him before his exile, mentioning that they were important. Likely his plans for the coming future, involving expansion, planting rotation, and several other things that the Captain only had passing knowledge in. But he seemed adamant about putting them in his hands. Perhaps there was something in there he wanted them to see. One good way to find out would be to review them as soon as the opportunity presented itself, then archive them in the same place he kept his own, similar notebooks.

He sighed, one among many in the past few hours, stepping outside of the building and into the light of the day.

Jack figured he'd give security another minute or so before getting on the radio again. Things were a little bit hectic at the moment as it was. He followed Ash's gaze down to the notebooks, figuring that they must've been James'. Otherwise, Jack doubted they'd be in the man's hands at the moment and would've been abandoned at the ground back at the outer wall, in order to pick up Miss Sally. He wasn't sure if there was anything he could say to really comfort Ash, but if taking a walk with the man would help, then that's just what he'd do. "You did what you had to," Jack then said, figuring that Ash could use some comfort. "And Miss Sally--she's strong as hell, she'll pull through. Makes me wondah what she used to do before. If she said she was a spy during some war, I'd believe her."

Thana Martin

Location: Greenhouse (G) -> Outside Main Building (Building 1)

"I will," Thana said as she returned the slight wave and glanced around. Clean up was going on it seemed, people were assigned to that from what she had heard earlier in the day so she didn't bother going over to led a hand. She had work to do anyways and part of that meant finding Ash and getting the things she asked for before she had walked off with Kris to take a tour of Agriculture. Looking around from beneath the brim of her hat she noted the truck parked outside of the main building. It hadn't been there when her and Ash had left his house this morning or when they headed down to the gate for James exile, yet it was there now.

Victor sighed as he glanced over at the Infirmary Radio. Normal protocol was to radio in a death to Ash and domestic but he couldn't just send out on the air that Miss Sally was dead for anyone and everyone to hear that was within range of a radio. Even if it just went to Ash's private channel, he couldn't. This was something that needed to be done face to face. They had already lost so much today, this was going to be another hard blow to the community. Sana, Bryn, even Richard was hard enough. Losing James to exile was worse. Not to mention the Beatrice and Ryan had gone with him, as well as that new cowboy. Now they had lost the original member of Newnan, the oldest, their mentor as it was. Sure she was never a lead but when it came down to it, if Miss Sally had said jump the only question would have been how high.

Stepping across the street Thana moved over to the truck and looked it over. For all she knew it was part of the clean up team's stuff. Yet there were no supplies in the bed or in the cab. Nor any blood. Looking down the street towards the mechanics shop she had to wonder where Ash was. She had seen several people, including Ash, with radios. If she could locate someone with one, maybe they could get a location of the Captain for her. Then she heard a crackle behind her...

The doctor slowly pulled the sheet over Miss Sally and placed his knife with the rest of the equipment that needed to be cleaned up. "Right... okay, everyone can go. I will tend to this once I find Ash and inform him in person." His voice was shaky but it was firm. "I want you three to take the day off, I will let Captain know. If anyone need busy work, the class room upstairs needs a full re-cataloging of medical texts," he added figuring at least someone would want to keep busy instead of just being alone with their thoughts. "Chloe, Ravi... hell of a day. Welcome to the medical staff," he said to both of them. He had had issues with Chloe before but she had proven to be of help during this and Ravi had come straight in without question.

"Yeah, I got them," Jims voice came in through the radio. "Location? I can have Brian run them to you," he added before the air went silent waiting for an answer. Thana turned around in the direction of the voice and cocked a brow as she spotted Jack and Ash coming out of the Main building. She hadn't been given a full tour of Newnan yet so she had no idea that the infirmary was in there.

Taking a deep breath Froggy looked over at Neisha. "You are now my second, we start learning you surgery and obstetrics tomorrow," he added with a weak smile. The girl had come a long way since she entered Newnan. At first he couldn't stand her but she had grown so much since she came. It was time to reward that. Rubbing the back of his neck he pushed the door of the OR open and stepped out in search of Ash.

Turning fully, Thana made her way over to them. Her brow cocking slightly as she caught the last bit of what Jack was saying. Miss Sally a spy? Thana wouldn't have doubted it. The way the woman melded from one situation to another, her age, her ability to get people to do what she needed them to do quickly. That was more than just age and respect of the community. That was military proficiency on an emotional level. Either way, she didn't ask. She was on the clock and had business to attend to.

"Captain," she said with a minor nod. "Jack," she added with another nod before turning her attention back to Ash. "A quick word if you can spare a moment to update you."

The doors of the Main Building opened and Froggy stepped out, glancing around. He spotted Ash along with Jack and the new Agricultural lead standing there. He didn't move from the door way, just holding onto the door as he looked at the three of them. He didn't say anything, his facial expression said everything. Thana caught sight of the doctor and rose a brow, motioning with her chin for Ash and Jack to turn around and look in the direction of the front door. The defeated look on Victors face and the glistening in his eyes told everything. Miss Sally hadn't made it.

Tatiana Korvo

Location: Mess Hall (Building 2)

Tatiana nodded and listened to what Ray had to say. She understood where he was coming from with still processing it. She was still honestly. She figured everyone would need a few days to do just that. Thing was she didn't want to wait on interviews, they needed to be done just in case someone out there was thinking of offing themselves as well.

Hearing Ray go on about "What If's" made her chest tug a bit. She again, felt the same way. Not what he was saying but about herself. "And maybe if I push Sana more I vould knovn she vas so far gone, maybe if I push Richard he vould have changed or left before so many die. Maybe if I talk to James more seriously he not go off deep end. Mayy, maybe, maybe," she said quietly before sighing and leaning back in her chair.

"No good for us think that vay. So many maybe, nothing we can change. Ve have move forvard," she added as she looked over to Ray. He had a lot to work through but so did she. Yet they both seemed to be okay to talk to others right then. "Okay, let us see..." she said as sat there and thought. "Need my records from home, ve set up schedule from that. Meet me there when you done?" she asked before turning and wheeling herself towards the door.

Gavin & Ryan

Location: Near 545 Corinth Rd, Newnan: In the woods. (Not far from the Coweta County Water Authority)

Ryan just sat there as the others talked, watching Gavin the most. This one he didn't know but he was going to. Gavin on the other hand wasn't about to stay quiet. "Aww hell nutin' wrong with a bit of chow," Gavin chuckled before nodding. They would be there soon, that was good.

"Finally," Ryan said as they pulled up. Once the truck was stopped he hopped out of the back and Gavin opened the passenger door to step out. Ryan smirked a bit and shook his head. "Fuck that, anyone got a pocket knife?" he asked as he slipped out of his hoodie and tossed it over his bag.

Gavin looked down at his knife, it wasn't a pocket knife that was for sure. Then a thought crossed his head and he grabbed the bag he had taken from the man he had slaughtered the day before. Rummaging through it he laughed as he pulled out a small Swiss army knife. "This boy scout tool work?"

"Hell yeah," the Irishman said as he caught the knife that was tossed to him. Grinning to himself, his Irish eyes were dancing as he popped open the small blade and pulled out the plastic toothpick that came with it. "Okay, give me some fucking room, watch the master work," he chuckled as he got to work trying to pick the lock.

Gavin watched him with his arms crossed over his chest before glancing towards James. "Do I evens wants to knows hows this fucker knows how to pick..." he started when Ryan laughed loudly as he pulled the padlock from the door. a lock that damns fast?!?"

Ryan put the toothpick in his mouth and closed the pocket knife back. "Skills cowboy, just skills." Ryan was looking rather smug. It wasn't so much the fact he had been able to pick the lock so quickly but the fact that now that skill was known, especially to James. That meant that the entire time that Ryan had been in Newnan he could have been picking locks and taking whatever the hell he wanted, especially from the medical garden where pot was growing or even the distillery. Yet nothing had ever shown up missing. The man was actually a lot more trust worthy than he had let on all this time.

Alexander Polawski

Location: North Of Newnan (Veterans Memorial Park - Corner of Temple Ave. & Jackson St.)

At least Lola seemed to be satisfied with Alexander's catch of the day. Did Kiwis drink tea like the British? He couldn't remember, but she was probably nuts enough to think that tea-set the greatest treasure in the world, and who was he to ruin her joy? Thalia on the other hand, she seemed less appreciative. Why though? It became apparent rather quickly as Thalia pressed Alexander back his radio.

"Oh...No, that wasn't you; that was the tank. Look, radio-communication requires codenames, even if we're alone. And you try coming up with cool codenames on the fly. So I'm sorry..." Alexander said to Thalia, before turning his attention to Lola with a apologetic expression. "Steel Chicken was only temporarely, of course. She's yours after all. Or he..."

Yeah, Alexander was still failing to make an improving impression on the two tankmen...tankwomen. And he himself was starting to wonder why he even kept up his search after finding the tea-set, seen as Thalia didn't see his mission as complete. He was about to point out that He didn't need a coffe mug to actually drink coffee or cocoa, and that he was doing this for more than just a mug himself, when Thalia tossed him the cocoa and told him of their so-called 'heart to heart'.

"Down the road a march? So..." Alexander stopped himself. He thought to ask if his company was not welcomed in their little group, but really it was obvious by the fact they offered to drive him a bit further. It was something at least, so he tried to look grateful and picked up where he left. "If I promise to never call you that again, I'd be grateful for the drive. Then I'll be out of your lives and tank, and you have an intact tea-set, coffe mug, and...well, you won't hear and old man's rambling anymore. Okay?"

Niesha

Location Building one: medical

As Chloe tried to comfort Niesha, her words did nothing. Niesha could recognise that holding Miss Sally’s hand wasn’t for Miss Sally, but for herself. Taking comfort, rather than giving it, but… there was also something simply human about it. In the last few years, they’d lost so much that had defined them as human beings… and maybe it was time to take that back. No one deserved to go through this, without someone holding their hands. Stabbing the brain, killing the brain… it was something that had to be done, but they could still be human about it. They might never beat the Walker virus, but… they could reclaim what they had lost. So she looked up to Chloe, and said softly, ”I know... “. Chloe’s words may not have done anything to comfort her, yet Niesha knew that she was trying. And that was all that mattered.

She wanted to be brave, to be strong, but as Victor leaned in, to do what had to be done, she closed her eyes tight and looked away. When it was all done and dusted, Niesha finally let go of Miss Sally’s hand, ”Goodbye” she said softly, looking to Miss Sally’s body, and wishing they could have done more… wishing they could have saved her. She was so tired of losing people. She barely listened as Victor began to speak, knowing she wouldn’t be leaving Medical anytime soon. She didn’t want to step outside, not at the moment. But as Froggy addressed her, Niesha turned to him, listening as he spoke.

His words shocked her. His second? She didn’t know what to say. Eventually, she gave a nod, turning back to Miss Sally, not wanting to leave her alone, even if it was just her body, and nothing else. As Victor left to do what needed to be done, Niesha looked to Chloe and Ravi, silent for a moment or two. ”I… I’m going to stay here” she said softly, mechanically taking off her gloves, and throwing them away, knowing he was probably a mess, but not particularly caring. She carefully checked the defibrillator was turned off, before moving it out of the way, and retrieving the resus bag, setting it aside. Then she just stood there, unsure.

Jack Hudson

Location: Outside Building One (Medical)

"We're outside of medical. Thanks, Jim," Jack radioed back. And as fate would have it, Thana headed over to them. It'd be a quick hand off of keys then and save a lot of time spent wandering around Newnan trying to find her. He nodded in turn at Thana, beginning to take a few steps backwards as to give Ash and Thana some space. He didn't want to get in the way but he figured he'd stay close by. Ash had asked to take a walk with him, after all.

Hearing the door open in medical, Jack's heart skipped a beat. This was when Froggy would inform them that Miss Sally was in recovery, that it'd be touch and go, but that she'd make it. This was when they were supposed to receive ecstatic news that she would pull through and there wouldn't be another tragedy that day. As Jack turned his head, he saw the devastation on Froggy's face. Jack blinked, hoping that it was just exhaustion after surgery, but there was no mistaking it. Something horribly wrong had happened inside of medical after Jack and Ash made themselves scarce.

Years of death numbed some to the pain of losing a loved one. It didn't do that for Jack. He still felt the pain and sorrow now as much as he did years ago, when his mother was taken from him. Miss Sally had been a maternal figure for not just Jack, but for most in Newnan. Of course, Jack suspected that she was something more to Froggy. Blinking back tears, Jack couldn't help but cry silently. Nothing gold could stay.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Near 545 Corinth Rd, Newnan: In the woods. (Not far from the Coweta County Water Authority)

As the truck finally came to a stop and Ryan hopped out eagerly, Beatrice watched with mild interest. She rolled her neck a little bit to loosen it up before coming to her feet and following suit, glad to be out of the vehicle. The back of the truck hadn't been the most comfortable of rides and she preferred walking at any rate. It gave her a sense of control in a world where anything but control can exist.

Beatrice raised a bit of an eyebrow when Ryan picked the padlock and removed it effortlessly, but it wasn't at Irish. No, she had just come to the realization that Gavin didn't know who he was traveling with. Everyone else in Newnan knew about the three convicts they had in the community: Chloe, Richard, and Ryan. Gavin must not have gotten that memo in time and a mischievous twinkle appeared in her eyes. All sorts of fun could be had with that. Hell, she couldn't help but wonder what Gavin's opinion would be of Ryan if he knew the man's record.

"Don't ask questions if you won't like the answers you'll find," Beatrice said simply. Though she did have to give Ryan some credit--he really was skilled. Not everyone was able to pick a lock and even those who could, it wasn't always that quickly. Ryan clearly knew it as well, given the smug look on his face. She glanced over at James, curious as to what his reaction was. Had he underestimated Irish all this time as well?

Chloe & Ravi

Location: Building One (Medical)

Chloe was stunned by Froggy's announcement that she was part of the medical staff. She had been assigned to medical for months and he hadn't trusted her, all because of things Dick did. Dick couldn't be trusted with access to drugs, so Chloe couldn't be trusted. It had infuriated her for ages and she had been planning to ask for reassignment that week. But now Froggy seemed to be indicating that he would at least trust her. She started to make a mental note to talk to Ryan about it before it hit her again.

He was gone and she'd never see him again. She fiddled a bit with the necklace he had given her, before heading upstairs. There wasn't anything for her to really do and truthfully, she didn't feel like doing corpse duty with Meg. Niesha was in shock, Froggy was grieving, and the Indian guy (Ravi, right?) seemed to be in shock as well. That left her to get that work done and besides, her only other option was to go and smoke. She wanted to try to save those cigarettes if she could, since there wasn't an Irishman obsessed with her anymore to deliver them to her whenever she wanted.

"Fucking hell..." Chloe muttered, cracking her fingers a bit before getting to work.

Ravi, meanwhile, wasn't really sure what to say or do. He had assisted Froggy, but he still hadn't been given a proper interview. He hadn't been assigned to anything beyond the temporary quarters he shared with Gavin the night before. Miss Sally, the woman who had started to take him under her wing, was dead. Ravi stared at the sheet covering Miss Sally, remembering how routine it used to be to see a corpse lying on a table. That used to be his livelihood, until the cadavers started to reanimate. He just stood there, trying to figure out what to do next and where to go. He didn't even know his way around Newnan and likely wouldn't be able to get back to his temporary room if he tried.

Ash Holloway

Location: Exterior Building 1

Well, the first part of the mission was done, they had located the keys and radio that had once belonged to James, and said former possessions were on their way to meet them. Ash had plans that revolved around speaking with Jack about his new role as Newnan's Second while they both made their way around town, collecting what needed to be collected and locating Thana to pass them along. As the situation had it, fate was drawing them all to the same place, directly in front of the Main Building.

Thana's approach to him directly drew his full attention. Despite the professional posture he assumed when working, Ash could feel his breath quickening slightly, a thing which he immediately suppressed as best he could, though were one very observant, one might be able to see his eyes dilating the second she spoke to him. He had it pretty bad. Her request for a moment so that she could update was reasonable and respectfully offered, and he was greatly inclined to accept. He was in fact about to do just that when he heard the door behind them open. Ash froze in place.

There was no immediate voice from the doorway. Good news was often blurted. Just as often, people hesitated with bad news. Following Thana's indication, he slowly turned toward the door and saw the look on Froggy's face. It was one of utter downfall. Ash knew. He nodded his head to the man, who was obviously distraught. "I'm sorry." he said quietly as his military posture drooped. It was details with Ash; if you didn't know him well, you would assume that he wasn't touched by anything. But those in the know would tell you that Ash just took an emotional hit. There was a ton of respect for that woman; she had been there since the beginning. He nodded knowingly at Froggy, understanding the full meaning of his expression.

Ash straightened as best he could and absently wiped the corner of one eye. Turning back to Thana, "Yes, I have a moment, Commander Martin. What do you have for me?"

Black James(!)

Location: Near 545 Corinth Rd, Newnan: In the woods. (Not far from the Coweta County Water Authority)

The proficiency with which Ryan blew through that lock gave James a bit of pause. He didn't say anything about it, though the look on his face showed that he was duly impressed. That kind of a display would have given him more than pause, were they still within the walls of Newnan, but out here it was just one more skill in the pile of survival strategies they had at their disposal. The rules were different out here. James knew that better than most. Still, he regarded Ryan with the tiniest amount of suspicion at first, until he realized that all of their histories, good and bad, were going to contribute to their chances of seeing another dawn.

James stepped up to the huge, steel service doors. He grabbed hold of one of the central handles and, with a grunt, began to haul the rolling door upward. Sunlight touched the inside of the building, revealing what many would consider an interesting sight. Among other items of note, the center of the storage area sported a sizeable houseboat. It was situated on a wheeled boat trailer with solid core tires, set up as if ready for transport. "Aight. This what we here for. We set this up a ways back, thinkin' we could use the reservoir lakes for fishin' or whatever." He began walking back to his Silverado, providing detail on the anomaly of a houseboat sitting coolly in the middle of the Newnan Utilities Warehouse. "Never got 'round to it, though. What we did do was pack this rig fulla useful shit. Backup supplies, like."

The big truck slowly pulled into the building. "C'mon now! Let's get asses inside, scope things out an' have us a sit-down."

Location: North Of Newnan (Veterans Memorial Park - Corner of Temple Ave. & Jackson St.)

Thalia looked at Alexander as he continued speaking, mouth slightly agape and head listing to the side as the words ebbed and flowed from his mouth. Even with the Apocalypse in full swing, Thalia was pleased to note that male condescension had yet survived. No only survived, but thrived, and proved its continued existence by means of an old soldier explaining simple concepts such as "code names" and "radio protocol" to a younger lady who initially identified herself as a former Security Specialist with a multinational firm. Perhaps next he'd offer to show her how to use a pistol all by herself. For a moment, part of her mind broke away, and she envisioned grabbing the old man by his shoulders and shaking him like a British Nanny until his eyes glazed over and the words ceased. If there was something that Thalia despised, it was being talked down to.

When Alexander first arrived, it looked like Lola was going to be the heavy, and Thalia the one to give him the benefit of the doubt. In and of itself that was unusual, the dark-haired machete enthusiast generally didn't trust people until they proved trustworthy, and seldom did it come to that. But now, she could feel a shift in attitude; both hers and Lola's. She seemed more at ease, while Thalia was beginning to have her doubts.

"The part about code names was just adorable." she stated flatly. "Really. I see our association lasting almost as long as it takes to get to those lines of smoke. If you want to tell me more about shit I already know, you've got until then."

"Oh, and protocol suggests that you establish handles before, not during. If that's not possible, you use a neutral handle." An abrupt change in topic, "You can ride up top - grab your shit."
