Oooh, cool, I got responses. So, I don't really have anything concrete at the moment, just wanted to test the waters. In any case, you're all free to throw ideas of your own, and maybe from that cesspool of ideas something concrete will show up

Currently, I'm thinking of running the game this way: with the idea of a guild that's super-huge guild with barely any good mages but are well-known for taking on almost any job - no matter how menial or petty, sort of like a guild filled with nothing but handymen. Plots will be arc based and short-term, usually constructed by an individual player with a focus on their character or related characters, with any long term stories to be collaborated by the group as a whole. Quests are generally made by GM's though players can make their own for fun's sake after getting approval from the GM's.

The setting is pretty much a carbon copy of the manga-verse, however, for the sake of widening the sandbox we'll be taking out the titular guild as well as modifying other canon-relevant characters (such as Zeref, seeing as how is existence is critical to the explanation of demons, which is just too fun a concept to afford taking out.

Any suggestions or better alternatives? 'cause this is just what I got off the top of my head.

@Altasaire @Instigator Hmm, good point. I think it's about time I get back to Noble Arms. We'll see, if this takes off and I'm not too busy, I'll get an interest check up.

@TheHangedMan I don't think players should construct arcs for their character, if you want to divide the GMing load like that then it'd be wiser to take a note from DnD and have a player manage an arc for a group he's not part of.

You know, instead of a well-known and established guild, I always liked the idea of perhaps actually starting out as the exact opposite. A relatively new guild that has perhaps only been around for a few months. I think it'd be nice to actually start out as a bit of an underdog. But eh, just my two cents.

Personally, I do like the idea of people making arcs 'based' around their character within reason. They should discuss things with the GM before hand though, just to make sure everything is okay and whatnot.

Maybe just me, though.

If you get a FT RP up I'll definitely give it a shot though. Have like, ten different characters I could use for this.

I agree, I think playing the story of low power characters in a small, family-like underdog guild as they become more powerful would be really cool. Characters with weaker or unstable abilities who have to use their brains and not just their power always make for more interesting stories.

And while I was gone, some really nice ideas popped up. Still, I kind of like @Rune_Alchemist & @Ebil Bunny's idea. Playing an underdog guild sounds fun.
