@Majoras End I've been working, gaming, writing in other roleplays. I've been considering what Mariette should do, but it feels too soon for another move already (in terms of number of IC posts) and Eli's simply going to be watching the battle. So, I'm just intending to wait a few posts. Mariette's not supposed to be taking center-stage with too many posts, really. Hah.
@Ariamis Appreciate the Mention, Don't have Penny at the train station, and at this rate might have to wait for that scene to pass before I have her show up again. Still, things seems to be getting more interesting.
@Hammerman With bloodicorns rampaging around, clockwork soldiers bearing down on her position, and Minnie spouting out lines about theater, Amber didn't really have a chance to react to a magical girl quietly walking towards her in the chaos. However, Sue is kind of trying to unify the magical girls in thought, and I was going to have her approach as many people as she could. If you'd like, you can have Sue fly from Lilly and onto Suwako's shoulder. She'd probably tell her something along the lines of "Lilly's in trouble! You've gotta help that magical girl."
Hello, I am one of said others. I have a decent idea for a character given the rolls that I got when I was reading the guide and such. I'll probably post it tomorrow and let have a looksy. It's a little bit off the beaten path as far as "magical girls" go, but these are the rolls that I got and I made a character that I thought fit ^_^
Hey, thanks for waiting. Here is the character that I came up with. I hope you like it, please let me know if you have any questions or things are no bueno. I have a couple other ideas if this one doesn't work out ^_^
Name: Darien King; Callsign "Prime"
Age (Magical Girl): 16
Age (Before Magical Girl): 30
Gender: Boy
Gender (Before Magical Girl): Girl
Appearance: Underdeveloped & Uniform
Specialization: Gravity
Weapon: Ranged: Prime's weapon is a pair of semi-automatic handguns by the names "Discretion" and "Disregard". They are white and black respectively and fire bullets of varying power depending on the amount of mana poured into the weapon at the time that the trigger is pulled. They do not have to be reloaded, as the ammunition is formed inside the chamber with the user's mana.
Power:
Duplication: Tactics and strategy are much more easily executed in numbers and as such, Prime creates a squad of himself to deploy in a wide variety of situations and uses. While the clones do not have the magical prowess of the original, they are perfectly capable of executing even complex strategy.
Perks:
Familiar(Bronze Coin Used): Prime has contracted with a small bird that he uses to collect information. As such, the bird has a human form rather than a warform. This form is both used to communicate the information gathered, as well as gather more information in areas where humans cannot enter.
Flexibility: Perhaps a natural trait to have for the previously athletic and flexible Prime. This flexibility is taken to the extreme when in combat mode, allowing for more complex actions to be taken by the body.
Masculinity: Probably the most ironic thing to happen to Prime. A middle aged woman becomes a "Magical Girl" only to become a male. He took it in stride however and has well adjusted to his current form.
Eternal Style: A fitting ability given Cardinal's preference to be in the limelight when not on mission. His appearance could at the least be called "handsome". Perhaps even upsettingly so. Man, does that guy even sweat when working out? How does he look so good after he just waded through a sewer? Now you know.
Money: His basic pay as determined by his Patron deity. Unfortunately, it's a little hard to ask a god for a raise.
(Extra)Hammerspace Handbag: An extra gift from his patron given the circumstance of his becoming a "magical girl". Useful for storing potentially mission altering equipment, or tools necessary for a plan to reach completion.
(Extra)Enhanced Transformation: A soldier is on always on duty, and so is Prime. He is ready to be equipped and kitted out at a moments notice. Ready for battle without giving the enemy the chance for preemptive strike.
Patron: Militarum Novum
Patron Benefits:
Divine Competence: Prime is skilled in all aspects of warfare. Diplomacy. Tactics. Strategy. Technology. Espionage. Anything that would be useful in a time of war. Some of this information is only improved or supplementing previous skills that Prime already had.
Paragon: A soldier is fit and ready for battle. Moreso than your average person, they are in strong physical condition.
Mana Font: The entire world engages in war, and the more modernized it gets, the more it feeds into Novum. Given that, it is very easy for him to have large amounts of mana flow to his first Chosen.
Mystic Might: Though Novum is not personally too knowledgable on the subject of magic, it is a part of his Chosen's condition like any other. As such, it is easy to give it a little boost.
Physical Prowess: Though all soldiers are fit, the chosen of a god should probably be moreso.
Patron Drawbacks:
Rites:
There Are No Athiests In A Foxhole: After every mission, it is the duty of the Chosen to pray over any fallen comrades for their safe journey through the afterlife.
Morning PT: Every morning, the chosen of Novum must wake early and partake in strenuous physical training.
Arrogance: Novum's soldiers are the best in the world, and no others can match up. Well, in his opinion anyway. While not likely to send one in on a death mission, it is very likely that he will estimate one's capabilities to their very peak.
Clueless: Despite being a deity, and therefore being part of the magical world at large, Novum has no idea how magic works or how to deal with it. When facing a monster, he is as likely to tell you to just shoot it in the face as give actually valuable advice.
Unknown: While technically having a name, Novum is more of a concept at heart. A very young deity, being only a century or so old, he isn't something that most people would know to pray to.
Fighting Style: The prepared rule the battlefield. This is the way Prime looks at combat. Brute force is good for some situations, and tact is required for others. What is needed most of all however, is absolute control of the situation. As such, the primary way that Prime does battle is by controlling the movements of his opponents. He uses his duplicates to lay down suppressing fire while simultaneously using his mastery of the gravitational forces to limit their mobility, speed, strength, and coordination. It is hard to control what you are doing when the gravitational forces that was working on you are in a constant state of flux after all. When the enemy is disoriented, he generally wears them down under a high volume of fire before finishing them off. Of course, if he can just crush them under the weight of reality, that works as well. The primary focus of his battle tactics are to be flexible after all.
Stats (Transformed): These start at 4. STR: 5 (+1 Paragon) AGI: 13 (+1 Flexibility, +1 Physical Prowess, +1 Paragon, +1 Weapon, +5 Two Silver One Bronze Coin) VIT: 6 (+1 Outfit, +1 Paragon) MAG: 18 (+1 Size, +1 Mystic Might, +4 Gravity, +8 One gold One silver Two bronze coins) LCK: 5 (+1 Masculinity)
Personality: In short, the personality of Darien is vastly different from the "combat mode" that he enters when he assumes the identity of Prime. Darien is a very sociable person that likes to joke and play around with the best of them. A bit of a show off to be honest, he really likes to be the center of attention. That desire to be in the limelight was the reason that in his previous life, he was a member of all kinds of competitive teams and looked for careers that would suit him in that way. When he assumes his callsign however, he is a much more somber and serious person. Calculating and cold, he is ready to do whatever is necessary to complete the mission. To him, doing good is not the important thing. If saving a thousand lives will help him complete the mission, and is the desire of his Patron, then of course he will save them. But if they are a detriment to mission completion, he is just as likely to leave them all to die. Or even make use of their deaths to his advantage. This is the dichotomy that is Darien.
History: A talented show off. In his previous life, Darien was a beautiful girl who competed at the national level in gymnastics. Calling her a tall beauty would have been very accurate. After her school and competitive years, she went into modeling, making a seemless transition from one limelight to another. That only continued for a few short years however before she felt like something was wrong. Life was enjoyable. She had the money to do whatever she wanted and the attention that she so desperately desired. But something was missing. To that end, she joined the military. She quickly proved to be a talent in many things, and quickly moved through the ranks before volunteering for a more secret program and line of work. She was accepted, and it seemed like she had found her purpose. Life would have smooth sailing from here on in. but it all went wrong on her first actual mission. Overseas, in a dangerous area where the military wouldn't personally set foot. Espionage, assassination, destruction of local infrastructure. No one but perhaps Darien knows what his team had been doing there.
Her team snuck into the facility. It was easy. Actually, perhaps too easy. There was no one around. Where was everyone? They found it. A room covered floor to ceiling in blood. Bodies ripped apart and sprayed everywhere. A monster standing in the middle of the room. Blood ran from it's face. It all happened so fast. It charged. They fired at it, but their bullets had no effect. Her team died. Torn limb from limb. It was in that moment that a choice was offered to her. This creature would disrupt the flow of war in this area of the world. That was no good. A deity offered her the power to save her life. She took it and was reborn. The first chosen of a young god. She killed the beast and left the area. It was reported to no one that her team had died. No one knew what happened to her. According to the military, she died with the rest of her unit. But little did they know.
Incantation: Special Operations Force, Callsign "Prime". Reporting For Duty.
Additional Info: Darien still likes wearing flashy outfits in remembrance of the few years that he spent modeling in his past life. He walks with a runway strut out of habit.
Type: Deity
Name: Militarum Novum
Personality: Confident in the extreme. His troops are the best in the world, and they can take care of any challenges that he needs. His greatest desire is to see the world keep advances so that people can war in new and exciting ways. Not so that they can kill each other however. He just believes that conflict is the fastest way that humanity can grow. As such, he prefers to send his chosen to hunt down things that will inhibit that growth, such as monsters or other magical phenomena that may take humanity's eye away from technology. He doesn't like to personally step in, rather taking the position of commander and ordering his warriors to complete tasks for him.
History: Not the first god of war, and definitely not the last. Novum is the embodiment of warfare in the modern era. His birth as an existence began during the first world war, when the way humanity combatted itself truly began to modernize. His power has only grown from there. As such, while still being an extremly young deity, he has great power at his disposal. He hasn't really needed to use it, as the world is perfectly willing to bicker amongst itself when left alone. Actually, if at all possible, he would prefer to just sit back and let the chosen of other deities and forces take care of any problems for him. Why expend unnessecary energy after all right? Unfortunately, in the recent years that has not been the case. In one location, a monster killed the local protector and was running rampant. It just so happened that there was a military operation taking place at the same time, so he used that to his opportunity. He created his first warrior. In the future, he may very well create more, as in the end, having his own forces is the most efficient way of handling things. Much more so than letting someone else take care of his problems for him. Until then however, he only has his one Chosen, and is liable to pour the resources they need into them so that they can accomplish the tasks that he sets out for them.
Resources: Novum only has a single chosen. As such, he provides them with all the resources that they require to accomplish the mission. Every month he provides living expenses in the regular world, and every mission he gives them a bonus in the way of magical currency. Last, he is willing to provide equipment necessary for a plan to be accomplished as long as sufficient reasoning is given. He is arrogant, but not so much so that he thinks his warrior can do anything without resources. The easiest thing for him to procure is military equipment, but given time he can acquire other things. While he only has one chosen, he has a decent web of contacts that can acquire the things he needs for his warriors.
@t2wave I actually didn't plan on doing it, but I rolled masculinity, so I thought that it would be pretty funny. I hadn't seen another one when I was looking through characters haha.
I mean, Regina's soul was divided into Regina and Elroy. So I guess technically Elroy use to be a woman. Or Is Regina technically fifty-percent dude? I don't know...
Time - Exceptional talent with the manipulation of time, particularly in the precision of application. Silhouette is capable of utilizing the magic in every standard way and then some. She can effortlessly target individual parts of an object or person to manipulate, rather than larger areas, making her rather mana-efficient as far as Time Mages go. However, her real talent is in putting something into Stasis. Stasis is merely a variant of stopping time that involves physical contact to pause or lock the physical state of the target, which effectively makes it invulnerable, while also letting it move if desired. This effect, when used on the nonliving, is permanent and requires no mana to maintain. However, it necessitates more mana spent into the activation which increases proportionally to the area of effect, making larger items more mana-consuming.
Weapon:
ChronoRend - A shorter blade that has been put into Stasis, allowing it to retain its sharpness and prevents it from being manipulated by others. It is a very simple but effective weapon, capable of being used for silent eliminations or to defend him in a fight, and has proven to channel his mana very well.
Powers:
Focused Assault - Sil can opt to dump a decent amount of mana into her blade, which can then be used to strike at time itself, bypassing defenses of a foe by cutting everything in the space the time occupied.
Regeneration(Gold Coin Spent) - Perhaps it is the result of her new body, perhaps it's subconscious use of accelerated time, or perhaps it's a bit of both. Either way, Sil has a healing factor well beyond anything a human can hope for. Cuts, stabs, missing limbs... none of it really seems to last too long. Decapitation or an exploded heart might be the only way to keep her down for good.
Third Eye (Dark Magical Girl) - Nothing escapes her sight, not even the supernatural. A sight beyond the norm, allowing her to pick up on the remains of magic, rituals, and even allows her to identify what she is currently facing almost instantly upon laying eyes on it. She is also able to respond to spells just before they are flung utilizing visual cues and her combat experience.
Perks:
Enhanced Weapon - ChronoRend, a dagger that can channel mana to cut time itself.
Enhanced Outfit - Despite appearances, her attire can take a beating.
Enhanced Transformation - Theatrics don't suit Silhouette very well. She's lessened her downtime between transformation and even protects herself with time magic as she transforming.
Martial Training - As someone in the special forces, who became a hired killer due to talent, who also came to work under a deity dealing with war, Sil is very knowledgeable about war, its tools, and how to use them effectively.
Incognito - Her prior life allowed for no recognition, and so she's learned how to keep her head down and not stick out from a crowd, making it rather difficult to recall her face in passing. It also makes her outfit somewhat ironic.
Gifted(Emergency) - Murder is her talent, and she has proved that her specialization in Time Manipulation was a perfect fit. She is capable of Stasis, a variant of stopping time.
Awareness(Emergency) - Details have always been important to her, be they big or small. She is keen on picking up anything out of the ordinary, and, as one who ambushed people for a living, is especially difficult to ambush herself.
Patron: Vermilion Veronica, Militarum Novum
Patron Benefits:
Vermilion Veronica:
Black Coin - Spent rather early on, after nearly being defeated by a powerful monster. It has granted her power, but also warped her personality, too.
Non-Exclusivity - Sil seems to be free to work with whomever he so chooses, and so she's chosen.
Militarum Novum:
Divine Competence: Working under Militarum Novum has granted Silhouette even more knowledge on the subject of war.
Paragon: While contracted, Silhouette receives a temporary physical blessing.
Mana Font: Also able to tap into some extra mana reserves as well.
Mystic Might: Essentially the same thing as above.
Physical Prowess: Her body feels lighter since being contracted.
Patron Drawbacks:
Vermillion Veronica:
Debt - Silhoette owes them quite the debt. Hopefully, it is one she can pay off.
Betrayal - That the Ebon Mint won't hesitate to remove her if it benefits them has not escaped her. She's used to dealing with people like that. She makes sure not to give them any reason to feel like she's better off dead.
Militarum Novum
Rites:
There Are No Athiests In A Foxhole: Willing to pray for others if only out of respect to her employer.
Morning PT: Every morning, the chosen of Novum must wake early and partake in strenuous physical training. And every morning, Silhouette joins rather willingly.
Arrogance: Sil's learned from experience that "it'll be easy" is not always true when Militarum Novum says it is.
Clueless: As she's come to learn as well.
Unknown: Before being contracted, she'd never even known the deity existed.
Fighting Style: Silent and swift. Silhoette prefers to end her opposition before it has the chance to become a threat to her. Utilizing her skills as a silent killer and her specialization as a time mage, it is not very hard to accomplish this. She can easily sneak up and remove an opponents ability to react through use of magic, and then plunge her blade deep into their neck or any vital point available. A swift, single-hit death is preferred.
Of course, that isn't always an available course of action now that Sil's a magical girl and her foes are beyond human. She is prone to changing how she fights based on the type of opponent she has, but generally, she'll play the role of a reactionary fighter and focus on evasion and counterattacking. She is very methodical in how she approaches her opposition and will utilize the environment against them if it is indeed possible.
This is altered if she ends up in a fight with somebody especially strong or for extended periods of time, where her perverted bloodlust begins to crack her stoic facade. In these instances, she often becomes the one acting in a fight, using every tool at her disposal to not just beat but wound and maim her target as well.
Personality: A cold-blooded killer-for-hire. Silhouette is stoic, amoral, and fairly selfish. She looks out for herself and only expresses a great deal of interest in what her next job is, her compensation, and information pertaining to them or their completion. Anything else is often viewed as unnecessary and usually also irritating. Trust is something she's not too big into, and it would be weird to say she has "friends" , though she does have people she "prefers" over others but she keeps everybody at an appropriate distance.
Ever since she became a Dark Magical Girl, something's been a bit off about her when things get heated. She had lived her life killing people without leaving a trace, without making a sound, and without being touched. If it was any other way, then she had done something wrong. But now... now she desires battle. The thrill of a well-earned kill brings about a feeling of pleasure unmatched by anything else. And so when confronted by a foe that can survive the first strike, that can prove to stand up to her... well, she's almost like a child in a candy store. Her mask breaks, her appearance perverts, and it is only then that her desire is the suffering and death of the target, and not simply the completion of a contract or job.
History: Silhouette had originally been a middle-aged man who joined the military out of a lack of any real desire at the time. He turned out to be exceptionally good at killing things, proven when his talents led him to be accepted into a special forces unit of an undisclosed name. However, feeling that there wasn't enough profit to be made working for his country, he later turned to a less legal means of employing his skills: contracted killing.
Clients varied, but all were wealthy. He cared not whom the target(s) were, only that he would be compensated appropriately for the task. And so, many people lost their lives to his blade and the promise of coin, be they man, woman, or even child. It is because of his lack of discrimination that he finds himself where he is today. He carried out a contract to kill a family that included a husband, a wife, and a child of about 11. A silent killer, it had seemingly gone perfectly with not a sound made on anybody's behalf, although shortly after dealing with the child he had learned she was more than had met the eye and that things could not have gone too much worse.
A... thing appeared. Something that wasn't normal. A monster, of sorts. It began rampaging through the neighborhood he had just been in, and apparently, the person supposed to deal with it was now dead. He ended up being the only one to ask, and not wanting to die or perhaps because he felt he was in a dream, he accepted. Granted new abilities, it did not take him long to remove the threat, but now he had a debt to pay. Apparently, that very magical girl he had eliminated earlier had belonged to the Ebon Mint, and they weren't exactly happy with what had happened to their tool. Learning what they where and their influence on the world, he decided against making an enemy of them, and has worked to pay off a debt, but ended up incuring another due to severe circumstances. He is currently working under a lesser-known deity.
Incantation: "I am a blade. A blade knows no fear. A blade knows no doubt. When faced with my enemy, I hesitate not. I am a weapon to destroy these!"
Additional Info: Seems to get rather embarrassed after her "battle high" and the many mistakes she probably makes during it.
Edit: Obviously, I have asked permission from both @TsundereStorm and @BrokenPromise to use their patrons for my app. Also, I was a bit confused as to how benefits/drawbacks worked with the second one, so let me know if I messed up. And, also obviously, let me know if something amiss or needs clarification, etc.
