Greetings, I am Chara...

Now we have reached the absolute..

WHO SAID YOU WERE THE ONE IN CONTROL?...

You think your above all consequences...

You still have something I want..Give it to me..And I will bring this world back...

Then it is agreed..You will give me your SOUL...

That was the last thing Chara remembered before waking up again with a gasp for breath. They shot up to a stitting position, looking around at the patchwork world they arrived in. "Strange..something must have tampered with the timeline..." they told themselves, standing up and dusting themselves off. "Wait." They suddenly said, bringing their hands to their chest and bringing out..

A soul.

A RED soul.

Oh no, nononono!" Chara was confused, and honestly freaked out. Usually, they wouldve took control of frisk after a "post geno-pacifist ending", but instead they were revived. Picking up their locket, a toy knife, and a ribbon, Chara went north of where they were in search of anyone from the underground.

"Mom?! Dad?! Asriel?!" They called out, "Undyne?! Doctor Gaster?! Anyone?!"

It took almost a week to find a sign of civilization. There was only so little that chara could do without a real weapon, but they were fine with it. They didnt want to make the same mistakes like before. Before they decided to rest however, Chara spoted a cluster of buildings. Small cluster, but still a good sign.

So they sprinted the rest of the way, and arrived at the 'mayor's' office in 2fort. "F-finally..heheheheheh..." Chara said, catching their breath again. Then a small star besides the door caught their eye. A checkpoint. So Chara aproached the checkpoint and "saved" their progress.

[*Knowing that you arent alone fills you with DETERMINATION.]

[*HP restored.]

Chara decided to walk inside the building and ask about the place. "Uh..excuse me? Is it okay if I ask where I am?"

The Courier sighed as she let the tune wash over her. Sounded like something that might have been playing on the radio back home, but at the same time, it felt a little too different to fit in with those. Just where was she? Didn’t stop it from being so soothing, though…

Until it was so rudely interrupted.

“I was listening to the music, asshole!” Chance snapped reflexively. It wouldn’t do any good; the Pip-Boy didn’t even have a microphone as far as she knew. Still, she listened to them talk and promptly began fiddling with the radio again when they stopped talking.

“Come on, there has to be a way to get that tune back…” She muttered. They didn’t have songs and important communications on the same channel, did they? For all she knew, they might. That accent certainly wasn’t anything familiar to her, could be some backwards cultural thing. She eventually gave up, shutting the radio off again.

“Welp,” Chance said. “I’m gonna check ahead, see if I can manage to not get shot by those guys. You all planning on milling around here any longer?” The Merchant shrugged. She started heading down the solitary path to the south, staring at the greenery with an odd disdain. Hopefully there weren’t any horrible plant monsters around here, either.

The tall grass stretched from the crevice through the narrow path leading to it all the way to another far larger and more open area on the other side. Slithering his way through the lush green blades Naked Snake would be greeted to a familiar, yet changed sight. The Bolshaya Past Base in all it's crude, Soviet glory. Still sitting amongst the woods like nothing had happened.

From where the FOX agent lay there were few obstructions to his sight allowing him to observe the base safely and properly. It still seemed mostly the same. The 'base' was made up of a few different sections. A central building that acted as a crude barracks with a side room for lockers and storage. A radio room to the immediate right of the crevice path. A food storage shack to the north of the central building. A munitions storage shack tucked all the way into the north east corner of the area.

And a helipad.

It was really just a flat area beside the base cleared of grass with the exposed earth giving it a crude slap-job feel. Crude or not it worked as parked on the space was what appeared to be some kind of helicopter. Landing wheels perched in the dirt and unmoving.

From a distance the helicopter seemed very similar to the 'Hind' helicopters Naked Snake had seem numerous times during his mission. His first encounter of which was at the very same base he found himself at. Yet the helicopter didn't look the same. It was sleeker and the silhouette differed in several areas from the original making it look more advanced and refined then the Hinds he had seen previously.

Regardless of what it was it still seemed to be a 'Hind' type helicopter and appeared to be armed. Heavy machine-guns, rocket pods, missile racks. Whether or not it actually was armed or even worked was another matter entirely though...

A crude trench ran around part of the perimeter of the building. Deep enough to crawl around it but a short enough gap someone could easily jump over with wooden pallets draped across the gaps as make-shift bridges.

It wasn't long after starting to watch Snake would begin to notice movement and begin to see men walking around the area. Uniformed man patrolling with automatic rifles close to their chests.

They were dressed in thick camouflaged fatigues and wore black balaclavas over their faces. While the camo they wore wasn't anything Naked Snake would recognize they held themselves like proper soviet soldiers. Each was armed with what looked like an AK-47, but it seemed to small and compact to fit the bill.

Though they patrolled the base diligently the soldiers seemed unfamiliar with the area as they kept looking around and watching their feet, as if fearful of what might be present. Many soldiers had opened their uniforms or outright taken off their shirts as the heat of the jungle had gotten to them through their somewhat thick uniforms.

Out of the three soldiers Snake could see outside each seemed worn down. Exhausted with untreated scrapes and bruises marking the exposed parts of their bodies. None of the soldiers seemed to have their full kit with them either. Carrying very little on them besides their weapon and whatever they had in their pockets...

More soldiers were likely inside or behind the buildings, but in their current state they seemed vulnerable. As long as they weren't alerted they were likely easy picking...

Walking to the south Poppy, Six, and the Merchant would find themselves before a crude base. Threatening uniformed men walked about the place, heads turning from side to side as they searched for intruders.

One was just a few feet away while another was a greater distance away to the south west. Both had their backs turned to them though and seemed largely oblivious of their presence.

Enemies are currently in CAUTION mode. They are wise to the presence of enemies in the area and are more observant then they normally are. Catching an enemy they will achieve calling for assistant much faster then if they were caught unaware.

Meanwhile on the other side of Tselinoyarsk, a teenage girl seated herself atop a barely restrained homicidal robot.

Cedar used Julian's decreased height from his kneeling and his outstretched arm as leverage to monkey up his mechanical body. After a few awkward moments of scuffing her sneakers against his otherwise clean armor plating she seated her legs over his shoulders and sat down. Like a tired little girl sitting on the shoulders of her much larger, angrier mechanical father.

"WOOOOOOOO! Let's go that way! Robot power all the way!" Cedar threw up her arms and cheered as she ordered Adrien forward, prompting a barely audible sigh from Quiet as she looked on in uncomfortable bafflement.

"The strategic value. Think of the strategic value."

Those who began to move to the north did so to find the other half of the area which was made up of a large clearing with a tree and the other wise of the rockface they had seen when they first arrived. The farther they walked north the taller and thicker the grass began to get. Quiet found the grass coming to her hips as she waded forward, following Cedar and Julian as they took point.

Continuing northward they would follow a grass choked path that was largely unremarkable. Quiet noted that given how narrow it was anyone approaching where they had started, their 'camp', would have to come from through the path which meant they would have the advantage if they were defending. At least against normal enemies...

The grassy path eventually broke out into an open area. Quiet and Ceder's faces immediately scrunched up as they were met with a wet, rotting smell. They were in some kind of small bottomless swamp. A pool of dark, vicious mud at least 30 feet across spread out before them like a foul pond. It gurgled and squelched, shifting slightly as gasses and other liquids made their way to the surface every now and then.

"Ugh, gross." Ceder muttered, shaking her head at the smell as she looked around.

At first glance the mud part of the swamp seemed too far to jump over. Though Quiet felt she could make the other side with her enhanced jumping abilities.

Encircling the swamp was a ridge of proper earth. It wasn't very wide, barely enough to shimmy along and even then one wrong step would put someone in the mud of the swamp. Yet off to the side there was a little 'island' out cropping in the mud with a thin bony tree growing on it. Amidst the branches of the tree a fat, active beehive buzzed with the working of hundreds of insects.

"How are we going to get-" Ceder looked to Quiet, hoping to get some kind of advice from her, but the women only raised a finger to silence her.

Quiet extended her arm and pointed to the other side of the swamp. There on hard, dry land were two things. They looked like dinosaurs, raptors specifically but drastically different in some respects. Both of the creatures were tall roughly the height of horses. Standing on their hind legs with thick straight tails extending backwards they leaned over, biting and clawing at some bloody mess on the ground with their stubby arms.

The two monsters, Genprey, seemed unaware humans had entered their new territory and stood with their backs to them...

"Wait, seriously?"

Handsome Jack had been bored. Ever since the group left he had little to do besides sit, wait, and practice spitting from the back of his throat at the wall behind him. He could have checked up on the townsfolk above ground or simply done a bit more exploring of the ground facility, but he was still tired and short on patience. The man was about ready to get up to look for some place to piss when he heard a young voice speak out and surprise him.

"Who asks if it's OK to ask a question right after they asked something? That's just-If you're going to ask something then just ask it. Being overly polite just complicates things and gives whoever bothers to answer you a headache..."

Turning to the north most hallway Handsome Jack was taken aback as he found himself staring at a child in one of the ugliest sweaters he had ever witnessed. Holding back the urge to laugh or simply cry at the state of the boy's (or possibly midget's) fashion sense, Handsome Jack cleared his throat and spread his arms to his side.

"Welcome to Pandor-Fuck! I did it again! Ahhhhhhhh!"

Handsome Jack shouted in blind frustration, closing his eyes and pushing his knuckles into his temple. It just came so naturally to him it was difficult not to say. He'd only worked and actually ruled over the place, plus 'Pandora' was such a catchy name.

Dropping his arms to his side Handsome Jack sighed, looking to Chara with a shrug of his shoulders.

"What I meant to say was, welcome to 2Fort! As for where we are I have no god damn idea. No on seems to know. I'd say we were in hell but there's not nearly enough fire or lawyers to suggest that."

Scratching his head Handsome Jack walked over to the little midget/boy to really feel the height difference between them.

"So what are you doing here, kiddo? Your parents finally get you out of their hair?"

Marston looked the seed over that Mr. Payne handed over him. Hard. Heavy. A bright, metallic color.

“Are you sure you didn’t just hand me some shot? If this really was a seed, it’d take a smarter man than me to get this thing to grow. But I don’t think you need me to tell you that you could knock someone real good with it.”

He handed the seed back to Mr. Payne, and started heading north once he saw Quiet, Cedar, and Julian heading up the path. The path was far more narrow than the cowboy had anticipated, and the grass thicker than any plain he had ever ridden across. Marston watched his feet for snakes as he followed the others through the winding grass.

Marston recoiled slightly at the arising stench emanating from the pool of mud that spread itself before him.

“Good lord,” muttered the cowboy. It was like Irish had spent days drinking himself to sleep in the pigpens of Thieves’ Landing.

“Looks like we don’t wanna get caught in that.”

As Marston looked around the area for an alternate route, Quiet had pointed towards the north, where Marston saw the Genprey, preoccupied by their meal. John was ready for snakes, cougars, even bears, but he couldn’t even conjure up an image of bipedal, flesh-eating reptiles until they were right there before his eyes. The cowboy pulled out the ornate revolver, a heavy round loaded in the chamber.

“...And we definitely don’t want to get caught by those things, either. I think we should try to put those things down while they’re distracted. I’m pretty confident I can get a shot in on one, but that’s all I got. If one of you can get the other one, I think we’d be golden.”

Quiet and Julian looked raring to go (granted, Julian always looked pretty aggravated), but with only a knife, a pair of robotic fists, and a teenage girl between them, the element of surprise may have been lost. He looked to Mr. Payne, the semi-automatic pistol resting in his shoulder holster.

“Think you can get the other one?”

Marston turned back to Quiet, Cedar, and Julian.

“If you all have any other ideas, I’d be willing to hear ‘em.”

Marston realized the issue with asking a mute and a murderous machine to share any ideas they had, but if they had a way of crossing the swamp and getting the drop on the oversized chickens across the way, then he’d least get to save a bullet. Julian might be able to get across the thick swamp, but Marston had no idea what the quiet one was capable of. Until then, he raised the revolver, accounting for the unusual heftiness of the gun, and trained its sights on the head of the leftmost Genprey.

Snake spent a couple minutes scoping out the enemies with his binoculars, creating a plan of attack and attempting to notice any weaknesses that he could exploit to make this easier.

He found plenty.

A plan of attack began to take shape has he observed the terrain and placement of the guards. Right before he was about to execute it the civilians walked down the path he just came through. After a bit of thinking, Snake decided that getting spotted by the civilians was the least of his worries. He should still try and stay hidden but he could afford to be seen, at least by them
Plan of attack: follow the patch of grass south until close to the guard. quietly approach the guard while crouched and then quickly eliminate him with CQC. If he proves difficult it may call for Snake to use his combat knife. Once he has been dealt with drag his body around the corner of the base and leave it there. Then retreat back into the grass

As Lilly helped the two men climb back over the stump Marston handed her a small mushroom he had found under the tree.

“For helping me out here. And more importantly, I don’t want you falling apart, ‘cause I don’t know what’s gonna happen with your robot when you do.”

”Thanks. I wouldn’t worry about julian though, while his oral filter might need a bit of work the controls on his actions are tighter than a... um... They’re rock solid. Can’t take any aggressive action without an authorised person’s say so.”

While she put on a confident disposition, the fact that the man thought she might die worried her. Maybe She should put in some kind of kill switch, just to be sure? Or have a set person to transfer authority too if she bit the dust. Having to confront her chances of survival like this was disconcerting.

”I refuse to die here after everything I’ve been through” she muttered to herself. Her worrying had meant that the scouting group had already headed off up to the north, leaving her with only a few others at the entrance. Hopping down from the log she quickly made her way past the odd assembly and began to scrounge around the rest of the area, inspecting the grassy area to the east of the entrance and up through the second way past the rocky outcropping for anything that might have been hidden from the scouting parties view as they headed north. Finally she strolled up to the large climbable tree and took a look up into its branches for anything of interest up there

Meanwhile, in the mind of the murderbot, there was an ongoing battle between Julian and the speech control programs Shen had installed as the enraged AI continued his battle to be allowed to curse out the girl riding him. All through the pass Julian was either silent or responded with the automatic characterless monoton of the chassis default responses to orders. Once they arrived in the swamp filled canyon he finally had something to focus on that wasn't contemplating all the ways he was going to murder these people. Well, there was one last thought on that train involving drowning in a swamp, but after that he was focused on other things. Like the lizard things on the other side of the swamp.

Julian automatically went into stealth mode, which basically meant he lowered the volume on the speaker he was communicating through but a small blue field of indeterminate function also surrounded the Spark unit’s body. This was entirely for his own benefit, he knew for the fact that he could be ordered to take the brunt of the attack if he “accidentally” alerted them to the human’s presence.

“If you make we carry you through that Twig, you will be the one cleaning me once we get back.”

He told Cedar, though it was more of a prediction than something he could enforce, before turning his attention to the cowboy’s suggested plan.

“Unless you have something for me to throw then I can’t help with your plan. And before you suggest it, I don’t think me marching over to the beehive and throwing that is a good idea. Because A. mud and B. this body is not built for stealth.”

The Courier surveyed the area, keeping low to the ground as soon as she saw the soldiers. They had consistent uniforms and weapons; they were probably well-trained and organized. The fact that they had their backs turned to her instead of actually guarding the base suggested that they hadn’t quite established a proper presence here yet. But still… They were armed, she really wasn’t, there was one of her (maybe a couple more if she could convince anyone else to help), and she had no idea how many of these guys they were beyond these two.

Yeah, fuck this.

“Hey,” Chance said, looking back to the others in the little group they had going. “I’m gonna sneak around the perimeter of this base and keep moving on if there isn’t any easy goodies lyin’ around here, I suggest you do the same if you don’t want a few extra holes in you.”

The Courier slinked off East, going behind the building to her left and slowly making her way around the base, being sure to carefully peek around corners and occasionally make a quick check on her own path as she surveyed the rest of the base, taking some extra time to stop and focus on windows and other points of interest as she went along.

I looked across the muddy pit, reeking of decay. My mind went back to some of the drug dens and brothels I'd busted, though the humidity made the stench cling to my nostrils. The lizards on the other side were oblivious to the group's presence, but I've seen enough gaurd dogs to know that could esily change. Last thing we needed was for

“Think you can get the other one?”

Marston turned back to Quiet, Cedar, and Julian.

"I've hit harder targets." A trail of dead bodies testifies to that. I unholstered my gun, cradling it both hands and keeping the muzzle down. It was heavy in my hands, and mentally practiced the motion like I was at the station's range. Lift the gun, point at the target, and fire off a trio of shots. "Ready on your mark, I will take the one on the right."
