Name: Nikias Weyenburg

Personality: Nikias has always been a very serious man, rarely smiling or joking. He wasn't very well-liked among the kingdom's peasants as the head of the tax collectors. The only thing he was soft with was his family. He cares deeply for them and, while he doesn't show it in traditional means, they knew he cared for them.
History: Other than being found as a teenager by the royal guards, not much is publicly known about Nikias's past. He began working for the King and quickly gained favor with the man, giving him wise council and showing a eagerness towards doing his job well.
Nikias has not been seen recently by anyone, including the King. This has caused any rumors to swirl around but his eldest daughter, Rosaline, has been filling in for him and taking care of much of his work in his absence.

Name: Elana Weyenburg

Appearance:

Personality: Elana is a quiet, well-to-do woman. She was brought up as a lady and has always acted as such. She was always quiet, yet kind to anyone she came across and, therefore was much more liked than her husband. She also absolutely loves gardening. She is known to spend much of her time shopping for new and rare flowers in the markets.
History: Elana had a rather uneventful childhood. Growing up in a noble house, her parents had a good bit of money and were respected among their community. She was always very diligent to please her parents and later, her husband. She was fiercely loyal to him from the start.
As she has also stopped appearing in public along with her husband, her absence was noticed by the commonfolk much more than Nikias's.

Name: Emmeric Weyenburg
Age: 23
Appearance:

Personality: Emmeric was a bit of a fireball as a child, yet he always wanted to please his parents. He had a tendency to unwittingly make trouble in an attempt to get his parent's approval. As he grew older, he matured quickly as the eldest son, but his need to please never stopped. He has a bit of an adventurous side, enjoying strolls in the streets and sometimes even outside of the city walls.
History: Emmeric was an overall good child. He loved his siblings but he also loved attention. He noticed early on that his good looks and his upper-class status made him very popular among the ladies, and even some men, in the Kingdom. He became very popular in the nicer pubs and bars, often visiting multiple in one night just to mingle and meet new people.
Like his parents, Emmeric also has mysteriously vanished. He seemed off the last time he was out amongst the crowds, less talkative and noticeably pale.

Name: Rosaline Weyenburg

Appearance:

Personality: Rosaline has recently become very responsible and mature for her age. Since her parent's sudden reclusiveness, she has been taking care of most of their duties. Even before this happened, however, she has always been rather mature. She has a fun side, enjoying gardening with her mother and playing in the gardens with her sister. She rarely has the time for these activities anymore, however.
History: Rosaline had an enjoyable childhood. She would follow her dad to work from time to time, often imitating him, scribbling on parchments pretending to take notes. As she grew older, she became almost like a second mother to her two younger siblings.

Personality: Young and playful, Emmaline is still very young at heart. She never quite picked up her mother's green thumb, but she still really enjoys the beauty of the garden. She loves playing in the city, often taking strolls through the market and admiring the merchandise. She is a sweet girl who is well known around the noble parts of the city.
History: Emmaline has had an average childhood, enjoying playing with the local noble children and running around her family's garden. Wanting to preserve her innocence and naivety, her parents have largely kept the dark secrets of the Kingdom from her. She loves her city and is excited to be betrothed to the future King.

Name: Charillos Weyemburg

Appearance:

Personality: Charillos is your average 7-year-old nobleman. He enjoys running, climbing, playing, and even play-fighting. Along with his sister, Emmaline, he is very innocent and naive to the problems the city faces.
History: Charillos is still young enough to not have much history. He frequently sneaks out of the house to play in the other nobleman's manors and sometimes the city streets. While he has his own guard who is suppose to keep him under watch at all times, they are not allowed into the house itself so Charillos has found many ways to sneak out without anyone noticing.

Name: Dromeus Ballanger

Appearance:

Personality: Dromeus is a businessman plain and simple. He has always had a tough demeanor, growing up in his father's business and quickly and ruthlessly following in his footsteps. He is a man of purpose and he does not let anyone get in his way.
History: Due to his tough demeanor, his marriage to Felicia had a rocky start. He didn't know how to open up to her and was never very affectionate. She slowly began to get used to his gruffness and they seemed to flourish for a while. After the death of their fourth child, however, they became very distant. Dromeus doesn't talk about his personal life very much, so the details are unknown, but no one has seen Felicia since the death of their child.

Name: Felicia Ballanger

Personality: Felicia is a relatively happy woman, growing up in a humble town. She was excited to get engaged to a nobleman from large city. It wasn't until she met him that she realized they had almost nothing in common. She wasn't about to go against her family's wishes, however, so she put on a smile and said she loved him.
History: Her children were her pride and joy, the first things in her life since she got married to truly make her happy. She spent hours every day taking her babies for walks around the manor, cooing in their ears, telling them how much she loved them. It wasn't a surprise when she lost her most recent baby that she was devastated.

Name: Lancelin Ballanger

Appearance:

Personality: Lancelin takes more after his father than his mother. He, too, is very serious, rarely joking or smiling. He is very prim and proper, even as a child. He expects to inherit his father's business one day and aims to learn as much as he can, now.
History: Lancelin was a very serious child. He didn't enjoy playing in the mud or running around the streets like many other kids. He was very serious about his studies and often spend his days in the house, learning. Because of all of his studying, he is very smart but lacks certain social skills. He hadn't much to say when he got engaged to the King's daughter. It was just the next step in gaining power.

Name: Villiame Ballanger
Age: 19

Personality: While still rather serious, Villiame takes more after his mother than Lancelin does. He's serious about his studies, but he also enjoys his free time. He spends much of his times walking the grounds of his family's manor and sometimes venturing out into the city streets. He's a bit of an artist and enjoys sketching his surroundings.
History: Villame has always been an artist at heart. He loves anything beautiful, especially women. His taste for women has started to bloom rather quickly. He enjoys spending time with some of the younger nobles but his family has a strict policy of not letting outsiders into their grounds. Therefore, he is often alone, walking gardens and sketching flowers.

Name: Eudeline Ballanger
Age: 16
Appearance:

Personality: Eudeline is a sweet, caring girl. She loves people and her city. She loves spending time with the commonfolk's children. People say she was born to be a mother.
History: Eudeline had a close bond with her mother when she was very young, almost never leaving her side. As she grew older, her mother began growing distant. When that happened, she spent more and more time visiting the commonfolk. She quickly grew attached to the children that ran around the markets and the public gardens.
Her mother has recently insisted her engagement to Luther Filtiarn. While they have over ten years age difference between them and they're personalities are completely different, she would never do anything to upset her parents.

History: How did they get invited into the Hunters Guild? (ie how the King or someone close to the King knows of their abilities/reputation)
Born to a family of minor nobleman, he grew up with his mother and 2 older sisters after losing his father in the expansion of the Empire. As he aged a love of hunting was discovered and by 15 he would be leading the hunt by following tracks unwittingly lain by the creatures. Soon, he had turned this into his skill, using it to gain money of his own instead of just squandering his families small fortune.

Now something of a mercenary, Rune is a skilled tracker, being able to tail a person or animal for weeks if it was needed. Oft he was hired by locals as a private investigator but would occasionally getting hired by the guard themselves to bring criminals to justice. Eventually however, he started hunting not just criminals but creatures of a supernatural nature also, especially when the price was right.

While he may not have been the best person to combat, he can find them no matter they hide, which becomes a slight problem when an old vampire decides to hunt you down for sport. Unsuprisingly, Rune found it hard to escape a creature that was both stronger and faster than him, he was found and captured by this monster that brought him back to it's lair of villainy. For days, maybe even weeks he was stuck as nothing more than the seductress plaything until she got bored... and hungry. Tossed aside and left to die, a fire burned on in Runes heart until his heart stopped pounding in his chest, until he was resurrected and walkes the earth as one of the undead.

He returmed home, much to the jubilation of his family who believed him dead, but this celebration was short lived however as he knew he couldn't deal with the questions of his agelessness and the risk of endangering his family. Faking his death in a freak fire, Rune fled for the opposite side of Empire where few would recognise him. Every few years though he returns to catch a glimpse of his family, even attending his mothers funeral from afar, and each time it brings tears to his eyea. He continued his work, under various names before adopting his current name. 'Rune', meaning secret, symbolic to him for hiding the darkness within. Often he would feed on criminals fleeing execution, sating both himself and lady Justice.

An invitation was quietly slipped to him one night in a tavern full of drunkards, where he seemed to be the only sober one of them all. Whether the Guild knew what he was, or whether they even cared was unknown to him, but Rune knows that there are some who are part of it who will hold it against him if they knew.

Hunter’s Name: Irelia Vyntr
Age: 25

Appearance: She likes to wear minimal protective clothing, as armor will only hinder her both in swiftness and in sense: her two important assets. Any more than what she already have could make her clumsy and noisy.

Irelia has a permanent stoic face, brought by the ire of being the blind hunter. She had then learned to shut her feelings off in fear of being exploited and ridiculed.



Weapon of choice: Bow and Arrow

Armor of choice: Pauldrons, Greaves and Chestplate. Everything else is leather or cotton

Strengths/Abilities:

1.)Tracking: Can use the environment to find runaways, or locate monsters (tree bark scratches, pieces of cloth, blood trail.) Without sight, she more heavily relies on her other heightened senses. Mostly her hearing. She cannot see a sword coming at her, but the twang from its sheath could easily give it away. She can also somewhat distinguish smells, although regular human capacity would still call it sub-par to tracking dogs.

2.)Hunter's Training: She has extensive experience as a hunter/tracker. Since sensing the environment for giveaways and clues often relied on hearing sounds and examining clues left behind (touching, smelling, tasting), she can still completely apply her training. Part of this training is to live off the land, so she can not only hunt monsters but also scour for food and water.

3.)Trapping: As a disabled hunter, she relies on traps and the like more heavily. Her tactics rely on disabling the other's senses to give her the advantage. She is known to hunt her targets at night.

4.)Nerves: Part of being a tracker is to calm oneself. She exhibits steel senses, both in action and patience. If she could, she would wait for her target to come to her, or fall into her traps. Suffice to say: Silica is not meant for a fair one-to-one, although she could hold her own if needed.

Weaknesses/Hindrances:

1.) Blindness: She cannot see. This in itself is already a major disability, and she tries to make up for it with her other senses. Due to a hunting accident in the past, she has lost her eyesight permanently. The condition of her eyes, defined as a "cold, glassy stare" had earned her the moniker of "Silica"

2.) Frailty: Silica is.. a woman. Despite her senses and wit, her physique is not much to behold. In a fight for strength, she will almost always lose-- however a woman aiming a bow at your chest is still something to fear.

3.) Endurance: Her stamina allows for quick bursts of energy, more so if it's a long walk-- but don't expect her to run a mile and a half continuously.

4.) Swordplay: She is meant for a bow, not a sword. Silica fights with a dagger up close; her frame does not allow her to wield anything bigger than a short sword.
Personality:

History: Silica was not born blind. She hails from a family of hunters. Her father, and mentor, decided that his life would not permit to wait out Silica's hunter training. Where their line of hunters traditionally is raised at age 15, she instead started at 10. Due to this, she was trained to track and hunt instead of the formal bow training first-- she would have to learn that at 15 like all the other hunters in their line.

By age 15, she had been an adept trapsman and tracker, easily outperforming even some professionals. Children learn quickly, and master even quicker. The knots and mechanisms of a proper snare was like a language to her, fluently written by her hands and exclaimed by the creatures that she captures. Her skill would only improve through the years.

Her favourite snare was of her own invention: Fowler, she would call it. The trap was meant to immobilize creatures by spraying them with hogweed essence, an irritant that would render the skin to feel burning. Mostly, her targets would be sprayed at the side, making them itch at first. (The motion made them look like a chicken flapping its wings, which is why the trap is called fowler) She also keeps a remedy with her to 'cure' the irritant before it completely burns through the skin. Silica never used this trap without being nearby-- as the consequences would be dire.

After learning to trap, she then starts her training as a bowman, now having the baseline build for a short hunting bow. Five years later, she 'graduates' as a hunter, tuned to a bow, and even more mastered at tracking/ trapping.

At 20, and on her thirteenth hunt, she was tasked to locate a runaway prisoner. Silica did not intend to hurt the prisoner at all. Her task was to track and bring him to custody, so that's what she aimed to do. However, a scuffle ensues as she was tying the man for round up, having her fall into one of her traps. It would have been safe, if it hadn't been for her falling face first into a fowler trap. She scrambled to get the remedy and quickly have the irritant off her-- but the damage has been done.

She opens her eyes and sees nothing. She tried putting the remedy directly into her sockets-- still nothing. It was then she realized just how catastrophic this trap may be. It was humiliating to fall for one's one trap, but it's completely different to be permanently disabled by it. Silica became an object of ire for some time.

Her skin would heal from the burns, but her eyesight never came back. It took her another three years to regain a fraction of the prowess she had attained as a fully-capable tracker, and another two years to hone the skills unhindered by her disability.

Now, she's ready to face the world again-- as a full-merit hunter.

After some quests, and by some bad stroke of luck, Lia ventured with a hunting party-- a small group of hunters, similar to her, the same twinkle of hope and ambition present. She, however, found herself alone with a caged being as she journeyed farther beneath the den. Unbeknownst to her, a turning creature of darkness in the form of human flesh.

Lia had no remorse for those that grunted and roared, yet a monster who spoke, who could plead and cry-- how could she deny the humanity that weaved itself? ...A bad move, and a quick waive of judgement broke her tether, welcoming Irelia into the coven. It was a quick series as she opened the cage and soon felt the fangs plunge deep into her skin, how cold the creatures touch was, and how sharp the pain: a quick peak, followed by the numbing reality. Lia was not going to come out of this mission the same being.

The coming events were a blur. Her heart felt both ice and fire, as it pumped coldblood so fiercely, her chest felt aflame. Soon after, nothing.

She awakes at a medical ward after the confrontation, completely aware of what had transpired. It seems she was not the only hunter injujred, and that her apparel were still equipped. Maybe nobody had seen yet? The procession of wounded soldiers lined the small room. One less patient made no difference. Not everyone would have noted the disappearance of one small girl, so she makes a quick getaway from the facility.

Lia now faces an even steeper mountain, and she's still determined to revive her honor, no matter what the conditions.

Hunter’s Name: Mikhail Lannyster

Weapon of choice:
mikhail could be considered to have three different main weapons. The first, and possibly greatest is his wolf, Brynhild. She is three feet tall at the shoulder, five feet long from snout to tail. Her claws are razor sharp, as are her teeth. Brynhild has her own set of armor that Mikhail made himself.



The second weapon was one he had to purchase. It is one of the older versions of the pistols. It has next to no accuracy, as such, Mikhail uses it for short range only.



His last weapon would be his sword. Nothing much, it is merely a hand and a half sword. Though, like his armor and Brynhild's armor, Mikhail made it himself.



Armor of choice:
Mikhail's armor, much like his sword, was made by himself. While it might not be of the best quality, it gets the job done. The armor has a steel, segmented chest plate that covers the entire abdomen. Over which is a thick jacket. Once completely red, it has faded over the years. Now mud cakes the bottom ridge and dark spots can be seen, typically with repairs to the fabric in those areas.



Strengths/Abilities:
Mikhail is an extremely talented blacksmith, however, he is also really good with animals. While not especially gifted at the sword, Mikhail can use it well enough to keep himself alive. But his true gifts come out with his ability to learn quickly and train animals.

Weaknesses/Hindrances:
Mikhail has little to no knowledge of the true nature of monsters. He also has no idea of how magic works. While it fascinates him, it also terrifies him. Secondly, despite his swiftness and agility, Mikhail lacks in raw strength and technique.

Personality:
Mikhail is usually happy-go-lucky, but that's just a front he puts up. Honestly, he prefers the company of animals to the company of people. He also has the underlying belief that if a monster can be obtained as an egg, or very young, then they can be trained like any other beast of war.

History:
Mikhail was the third son of a Blacksmith. While he learned his father's trade, he grew up knowing that none of it would go to him. Out of the three brothers, Mikhail was the best, but as tradition goes, the first born would receive his inheritance. The second brother, Darren, went into the priesthood. As such, there was nothing left for him. As soon as he came of age, Mikhail left the home that held nothing for him. Heading through the forest, the young man came across a young wolf pup. Alone and weak, he took Brynhild with him. Continuing on his way, the young wolf began to eat more food than Mikhail could provide. As such, Brynhild's training began. Several years have past since then. Mikhail had settled, for a short while, in a small village. Gaining trust with their resident blacksmith, Mikhail was able to produce his weaponry and armor. He paid for it by selling the meat he hunted, and the leatherworks he created. However, soon after, the time for him to leave came again. He had seen the flyers, heard the rumours. Monsters were appearing, and someone needed to fight them.

Name: Aster No-kin
Age: 20

Appearance:

Strengths:

Alchemist - Aster has trained and studied the science of creation, and knows how to research and combine ingredients to produce the effects he desires.

Animal Traits - Aster has several animalistic traits, including keen senses, enhanced reflexes, and superior night vision. He cannot see certain colors, however.

Well Liked - Aster's easy going personality and quick wit make him easily likable among strangers. He is used to charming his way out of sticky situations before things go too badly.

Weaknesses:

Obvious - Aster has difficulty hiding his true nature for long. A hood can only hide so much, and when people begin looking too closely, his horns are only the most immediately recognizable of his disfigurements. He often has to pack up his life and move when things become too hostile around him.

Weary - Among the many changes to his body, Aster burns far more energy than normal. When he is not busy doing something else, he can usually be caught dozing off in a comfortable spot.

Out of Touch - Aster spends most of his time alone, his only real contact with the outside world being stories that others bring him when they come to him for remedies. He has no idea what's going on in civilized society.

Dependent - Aster must regularly take a remedy to stave off the worst side effects of his transformation. If he doesn't he is wracked with debilitating pain, feral tendencies and eventually death.

Personality:
Aster is a cheerful and likable person, but tries to maintain his distance from other people for obvious reasons.

History: Aster was always too clever for his own good, and not quite clever enough to stay out of trouble. His first experience with alchemy was breaking into the local apothecary when he was just eleven years old, convinced that he could brew up his own potions and become a famous scientist. All he managed to do was make himself sick, but the owner of the shop, either out of respect for his attempts or just worried it would happen again without direction, decided to take the young boy under her wing and teach him. At first, he only learned simple remedies and treatments, allowing him to help with the shop, but eventually his thirst for knowledge reached his teacher and she began to teach him how to make more specific droughts. Potions to enhance one's strength, to provide perfect recollection or that would force the imbiber to tell the truth. Aster greedily drank in these lessons and begged for more, soon using his growing knowledge to devise his own concoctions. When he reached the end of his teacher's knowledge and was still left wanting, he left his home to search for more advanced tutors.

He traveled for years, stopping at each major settlement he came across and offering the locals help in exchange for money and any knowledge they had. He became an adept alchemist by the time he was sixteen, a prodigy by all accounts, but still he wanted more. He began to wonder why the potions he brewed must be temporary. Wouldn't it be far more effective to find a way to permanently increase a person's strength, rather than brew a new potion for it every day? His research eventually led him to brewing potions with animal blood, attempting to combine those abilities with a human safely and permanently.

He was only partially successful.

When he finally managed to craft what he was certain was a potion of everlasting abilities, he decided he was the only person he could reasonably risk in his experiment. He drank his concoction with barely a second thought, and then followed it with a sleeping drought, certain the alterations would take hold better in his sleep.

When he woke, he woke in blinding agony, confusion flooding his mind as he tried to find his attackers. Surely this much pain could only be inflicted from another? He wrapped his arms around his head to stave off the foes he couldn't see, only to pull them back with a hiss as something sharp punctured his skin. Reaching blindly in his bag, he grasped bottle after bottle until he found the shape of his numbing medicine, taking the drug so he could think clearly. As the potion went to work, he stared at his reflection in the glass surface of the vial, suddenly revolted and unbelieving at what he saw. His once brown hair was now ghost white, and there were four sharp horns, coated in blood, jutting from his head. Blood flowed down his face from his hairline, covering his features in crimson streaks.

Just as he was contemplating what to do, he heard hurried footsteps outside. He smelled burning lamp oil and the sweat of fear, and knew that he had to leave. If anybody saw him like this, they would surely call for his head. Quickly gathering his supplies, he broke several glass implements in his hurry. Once everything was put together, he ran for the window and shoved his way through it, dashing off into the night and spurred on by the shouts of terrified villagers. From there, he ran as fast as his new body would take him, disappearing into the forest. That forest, and many others besides, would he his home from then likely for the rest of his life.

Strengths:
Might - Sufficient to say, Domic is very strong. Despite being smaller than most horrid beasts, and indeed smaller than some regular humans, his sheer physical strength allows him to not only maneuver in his heavy metal armor, but grapple even with beasts.
Endurance - Hand-in-hand with Domic's might, he is just as tough as he is strong. His armor helps ward off and soften painful strikes, but even without he can withstand such things as blistering colds, searing heat, dehydration, drowning, and many other means of dying. His endurance also allows him to comfortably sleep in his armor without discomfort.
Perspective - Domic does not consider himself an intellectual and admits that he is poorly educated, but he has keen senses and uncanny insight, allowing him to be able to notice when he's being deceived, to spot what is hidden, or simply have an eye for details.
Unwavering - Domic admits to his own shortcomings when it comes to his impulses and emotions, but he is always in control of his emotions, even if he lets himself become angry or sadden. That is to say, those who would try to scare him, to anger him, or to falsely influence him through means beyond simply words will often find themselves failing thanks to his ironclad willpower.
Stealthy - A man of his statue and equipment should not be so subtle. And yet Domic often can and will be found sneaking alongside the likes of lightly clothed spies and hunters, and unless you're seeking him out specifically he can often go completely unnoticed.

Weaknesses:
Kindness - A weakness Domic cherishes, but a weakness nonetheless. He is kind and generous especially to women who have shown him their favor, but this makes him easy to manipulate with guile, and even his normally unwavering willpower can be turned against others simply by misdirecting his trust.
Poor Swordsmanship - Domic does not use a sword or many other weapons simply because he's not skilled in their use. He'll often do more damage, or at least be more successful, with his own fists or shield instead of giving him a proper tool for killing. This limits his options if simply bashing the enemy is not a viable option for him.
Bad Aim - Domic is also a horrible shot, be it a stone, bow, or gun. There have been instances where he completely misses his mark even at point-blank range. At least his punches can hit their mark, but once it leaves his hands the final destination of his ammunition will be decided by god.

Personality: Domic fashions himself to be a noble, generous knight errant, and he has something of a reputation to support it. He often finds himself wherever trouble may be and he'll do his best to aid anyone he finds, often using his strength to do anything from repairing homes, fending off bandits, or simply carrying a heavy burden. Of course, Domic purposely does these things not entirely out of noble intentions; he does want people to respect him, and in turn he uses that respect to earn their favor so that he may obtain simple needs from them such as food, water, and perhaps a place to stay. In truth Domic is a simpleton, who only knows how to use his strength and very little else. He was most fortunate to be able to gain his armor and his shield, and his title as a knight was something he made up to feed his own ego. But even if his origins is a lie, he intends to live these dreams as a reality.

History: Domic may look the part of a fearsome knight, but his origins were humble: he was nothing more then a farm boy who was blessed with a strong, healthy body. As a young boy he helped on his family's farm during heavy work that even an ox could not do, and thanks to his efforts he was fed well and made strong. He listened to tales of heroism and knights from his village's church, and always dreamed of being a warrior who could defend the innocent from the coming darkness. He had an active imagination and pretended to be a knight as much as he could, donning fake armor and using wooden weapons to slay imaginary monsters. These acts, while initially just a child's game, soon turned into a true training regime when his uncle came to his father's farm. His uncle was a mercenary who had fought alongside the likes of knights and such, having returned from his tour of duty. It was from him that Domic learned how to fight when he showed an interest in what his uncle does, and thus Domic was put through grueling training to become as strong as he could be.

A few years later, and soon Domic became a man. Though he was not as large as some nobles were, Domic's strength was greater then ten of them, and this was demonstrated best when bandits had come to his village. They were deserters from a battle outside the realm, and they had come seeking grains and women. Domic, his uncle, and a few young men formed a militia to fight these brigands, but it was Domic who ultimately drove them off. Armed with nothing but his uncle's shield and an axe, Domic soon broke the axe whilst splitting the head of a bandit, and then proceeded to simply punch and crush the rest who he could grab. The bandits soon left, and the village heaped praise upon Domic for his efforts in protecting his home.

Not long after, his family had a gift for Domic. A suit of armor, fearsome and strong. Domic's uncle had made it using bits and pieces he had collected over his career, and he encouraged Domic to wear it proudly. While he would always be helpful at the farm, his family felt that he had a greater destiny then just tilling fields and hauling crops to the market. Since then Domic had become a knight errant, traveling wherever his feet would take him to do battle against any evil or enemy who stood in his way. He saved up the money to purchase himself a suitable weapon: not a sword but a shield. For Domic was not merely a killer; he was a protector, a defender of the weak and slayer of darkness. A sword could be used to kill good and evil alike. But a shield protects.

Battle Harden - Lucilia is no stranger to the horrors and burdens of war. She has seen her fellow men and women torn apart by cannons, blades, and man's own innate savagery. She has been to the fields of slaughter where thousands of innocents are put to the blade for no reason other then convenience and spite. She has seen what her own soldiers would to to prisoners of war to slate their own hunger. And she has had a hand in all of these travesties, and sleeps soundly at night. Whether she is cutting down a infidel with her axe, or burning a witch at the stake, Lucilia is horrifically skilled and efficient.
Agile - Though her armor and weapon are often too heavy for the untrained, in her own hands Lucilia can move swiftly and dispatch her foes easily using the speed and weight of her weapon against them. She'll be in and out as fast as her axe swings, leaving a bloody mess behind.
Holy Knowledge - As an Inquisitor, Lucilia is privy to knowledge kept secret from the public and even to some more learned scholars. These secrets not only include information about beasts and monsters, but also such things as gunpowder, "Holy Water", and certain drugs. Lucilia will often utilize this knowledge to help her work.
Devout - Lucilia's faith is unwavering, and so is her will. Even in the darkest moments she'll remain strong and fight until it is finally time for her to meet her maker. So no matter how beaten she is, how bleak the situation, she'll never lose hope not even after she loses her life.
Empathy - As odd as it may seem, Lucilia has a keen sense for people's emotions. She can feel their hidden fears, their sick pleasures, and their desperate cries for help underneath their laughter. This empathy allows her to better understand people as well as discern their true motives, as well as use it against them to manipulate their emotions for her own gain.

Weaknesses:
Fanatic - Just as she is devout, Lucilia is also insanely fanatic about her beliefs. For the most part she allows people to question her faith and lets them wallow in their own ignorance, but press the right buttons and make her question her faith, and she'll do nothing less then everything to prove where her loyalties lie.
Bound to the Church - Lucilia's loyalty ultimately does not lie with the crown, the guild, or even to her ideals, but her church. She'd follow them even if they turn against everything they stood for, because her belief is in them, not in the teachings she's suppose to follow.
Insomniac - Lucilia has a hard time trying to rest under the best of circumstances, and when she finally does she'll be difficult to awaken. This has gotten so bad that she had been made into an Inquisitor so she could make her own schedule instead of abiding by strict time clocks of her church.
Narrow Minded - When it comes to battle Lucilia takes out her opponents one at a time. That's fine if she's dueling someone, or has allies to watch her back, but should she be faced against a mob alone she may be able to eliminate perhaps three or four before she is eventually overwhelmed by the sheer amount.

Personality: Loyal, dutiful, and sharp. Or at least that's what Lucilia strives to be. Always questioning her strength, Lucilia continues to try and improve herself and others while doing her duties. A workaholic who sees the act of doing her job as an ends in and of itself. When she finds time to relax it's often only to alleviate the stress of her work so that she may soon return to it. She's a serious no-nonsense woman who tolerates little but respects those who do their part. You're rarely get a smile out of her but if you play your cards right you can at least earn her favor.

History: Lucilia was not invited by the hunters, but sought them out on behalf of her church, the Izalith. Their patron deity is said to be a goddess who first showed humanity flames, and thus showed them the power of innovation, creation, and light. Lucilia is part of a sect within her church known as the Blade of Izalith, inquisitors who serve her interests. Raised from birth to becoming a loyal warrior of Izalith, Lucilia joins the hunters under the command of her leaders, who seek to make an alliance with the church so that they could protect their people from the forces of darkness that would consume the world if left alone. Beyond that, there is very little of Lucilia's history that she cares to remember. She often accompanied members of the clergy to protect them, but has also fought in many wars in order for the church to continue their alliances with various nobles and nations.

Personality: keeps to himself most of the time, though isn't above trying to make friends with his fellow hunters and enjoys the festivities found in Rothenburg especially the drink they call beer. Is kind at heart and will always help those he sees as in need.

Strengths:
Knowledge of poisons: as part of his warrior training he was trained in the creation of poisons, venoms and their antidotes.

Acrobatic: his light armour and encumberment allow him to move freely, this combined with his dexterity means that he can easily avoid most blows.

Unnaturally strong: the witches elixir has made him strong, though he cannot match the monsters he sought to become he is far beyond your average human in terms of strength.

Survivalist: his years of traveling alone in the wilderness have given him the knowledge and experience needed to survive in most environments.

Knows many languages: in his travels he has met many people from all over the world and has learned their ways and languages, as a result he can speak to at least some extent with most people he meets.

Reluctant to fight some monsters: he is reluctant to break the traditions of his home as a result he will only fight witches and beast lycans who are very clearly evil.

Appearance: His appearance is not as glamorous or elegant due to using equipment that would seem lacking for an adventurer. His armor looks worn and damaged, with numerous nicks and scratches all along the body and helmet.

Beneath his armor, his looks are moderately handsome and dignified, if somewhat pale with ash blonde hair. His body, if seen bare has many scratches, marks, and muscular tone due to years of rigorous training, work, and questing.

Personality: Reiner is stoic for the most part, calm in most circumstances and simply unable to devote himself to anything outside of preparations to deal with Monsters, or Bandits after the ordeal he went through as a child. Because of this, he lacks the ability to understand certain social norms and doesn't notice the affections of those around him.

His desire to Hunt stems from two places: the helping aspect of preventing what happened to his village happening to others and to hone his skills that had been implanted into his mindset by his precarious upbringing. To this end, he has a single-minded devotion that has led to him being rigorous in hunting, leaving nothing to chance, and he pushes those under his care into being just as prepared to avoid suffering because of a mistake. He will not hesitate to put himself against odds that will all but ensure his death.

History:Reiner Degenhardt was once an ordinary boy in a small fishing village near Overresch. One day, his best friend left to work on a farm in Estramoz for a few days, and the two fought because he couldn't go with her. Later that night, his village was attacked by a large pack hungry and angered monsters, of goblin origins and everyone he knew was taken from him.

He hid in his house's basement, locked in there until nightfall. He snuck out of the house, seeing the remains of those who fought back, and tracks of the rest either being dragged or carried away. Degenhardt was attacked by monsters who hadn't left yet. He was saved from death by an unknown, armored traveller; Reiner spent 5 years under the wing of the traveller, being trained and raised by him, before parting ways.

After parting ways with his mentor, Reiner took up the charge of travelling, and in part, hunting. He honed his craft, his skills of trade, that he was so graciously taught, and began roaming, wandering, around local villages in search of ways to assist. He would assist any village or group with good intentions, that required the enlistment of his services. Soon, his travelling became more focused on the genocidal aspect of hunting monsters, him being relentless with hunting down and finding dens, or nests, of Goblins, those who destroyed the life he once had, and greater, to prevent such hardships from befalling another, or as best as he can. He gained a reputation of his merciless killings of monsters, enough to catch the eye of the nobles of Rothenburg, being that there were prospects of less monsters in general to deal with, he received an invitation to the Hunter's Guild, which he gladly accepted to the fact of furthering his personal Crusade against monsters.

Extra: There is a betting pool among the inner rim of society regarding what he looks like beneath his helmet.

Profession: Soldier of Fortune - Travelling from village to village, doing whatever work is available. Hunting the creatures of the night is a dangerous profession, but for someone with few other skills and no intention to settle down, it has its merits.

Appearance: Aged, scarred, gruff, not known for appearing friendly. He neither barks nor bites as harshly as he may appear however. He has a set of three scars cutting across the right half of his face, stemming from the corner of his mouth, the bridge of his nose, and just under his eye ... courtesy of a long night in the woods in winter and a pair of hungry wolves. His armor is a lightweight, yet durable mix of steel plate and thick leather, scratched and gouged by both blade and fang. His waistbelt is heavy with steel: his selection of blades curated over years.

Personality: Blunt, brutally honest, and a bit pessimistic, but loyal to a fault. Though his line of work would suggest he is loyal only to wealth, he grew up on stories of heroes of old. But in his own words, “There are no great causes left to fight for, no feats worth fighting for, no battles worth dying for. There is no valor to be had in throwing one’s life away, and there is no man left to die.” He approaches any task with this skepticism. Suicide missions are not something he will willingly walk into, in part because of his ingrained stubbornness. When he sets out on a task, he will complete it or die trying.

Best Qualities:
-Loyal to a fault
If one good thing can come from his rigidity, it is his unwavering loyalty. It is incredibly hard to earn, but nearly impossible to break.
-Master Swordsman
If his blades can reach it, he can kill it. The only question is whether it can kill him first.
-Veterancy
He’s survived a rather long time for his line of work: product of skill and some measure of luck.
-Qualified Weaponsmith
He can maintain his own weapons and armor. This self-sufficiency is minor, but nonetheless often underrated.

Worst Qualities:
-Headstrong, stubborn
When he has made up his mind, he has made up his mind for better or for worse. There is no changing that, period.
-Leeroy Jenkins syndrome
He sometimes takes an overly brief assessment of a situation, and then charges in blades first. While this can sometimes catch enemies unaware, it is a dice roll and Levi should know better.

Zero ranged weapons, outside of using his backup knives as throwing weapons. If it can hurt him from outside of his sword reach, he is in trouble.
-Fear of Wolves
His hand magnetizes to the hilt of his sword out of pure reflex at the sound of a wolf’s howl.

History: Levi originally was an apprentice blacksmith. Working around swords all day gave him plenty of time to both admire them and to practice with them. He picked up the fundamentals somewhat quickly on his own before he was given proper training. The master swordsman he trained with was like a father to him, having grown up an orphan. Despite what was often assumed, it never bothered him that much. When it did bother him, he kept busy at his studies. He eventually became a qualified weaponsmith, and crafted his own set of swords. His first craft were a pair of single-edge backswords (an early predecessor to the sabre). Nonetheless, his craft had a long way to come.

He was originally trained solely for the purpose of defending their small town. It was a boring and uneventful post however, and Levi grew impatient. That of course would change soon enough, for Levi was not careful about what he sought. Every night, the warriors would listen to the howls of wolves and stand ready lest a horde of tortured abominations make for the townspeople. On a high moon the horde came as promised. The town gates - a barrier of thick logs bound by hardened iron - failed to hold back anything, and everyone who carried a blade was now in charge of holding the line.

The trained warriors of the village did eventually repel the lycan horde, slaughtering most of them. Even in their victory, it was not without cost. Two dozen lay dead and five houses were destroyed. Among the dead was Levi’s master. Levi took his death extremely personally, and had severed the head of the killer beast clean off only moments after. A life for a life trade didn’t suit him though. He could not suffer to see such eldritch creatures live, for they had sought the blood of innocents without cause. It would not be the last fateful encounter Levi would have with wolves.

Levi departed his village to hone his craft hunting down these monsters. He could not be appeased by merely defending against them. His skills with a blade where up to the task, but he had little knowledge of hunting down the creatures of the night. As with smithing, he learned the craft quickly. By the time he was 20, he was more than capable of tracking down and beheading almost any the various horrors that lurked in the midnight forests. Even still a hunter has to sleep. During a camp-out on a week-long track, Levi was alone in the woods. His fire had burnt out and the wolves were famished. Unlucky for them, Levi was quick on the draw. Unlucky for Levi, he wasn’t fast enough. He managed to spill the pouncing predator’s innards with a single well-placed slash, but the creature had managed to catch him across the face with its claws in its final breath.

The howl of a wolf keeps Levi paranoid to this day, and the scars on his face serve as a grim reminder. In the face of that fear he has made a successful career out of solving people’s monster problems. For as rash as he can be, he has lived a surprisingly long time in his line of work, making a rather significant reputation for himself. His age gives him a certain element of veterancy in his field that many often do not live long enough to reach. He is fairly known among towns north of the capitol, though he has traveled into the mountains before to answer a call. Now the king is seeking his help. Levi is certain there is more to it than that, and that something must be very, very wrong for the fortress that is the capitol to need the likes of a master hunter.
