"Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
From Dust
Legend states that man was created from dust itself, into the world of Remnant, a land ravaged by hostile Grimm. These soulless creatures preyed upon mankind, spreading darkness across the lands of Remnant. But one day, a man discovered Dust, a natural resource with great power. Now armed with weapons powered by these crystals, man overpowered the savage Grimm and pushed them away. With the absence of darkness, man could form society and grow.
Yet these days of light would not last too long, and humanity would soon be thrust into another war- this time with itself. Remnant was divided into smaller countries in a long war, and it would also create war with the Faunus, another species of people on Remnant that were part-human, part-animal. These Faunus would create a great racial rift between man and Faunus, which would lead to all sorts of conflict and terrorism between them.
To Dawn
Today, Remnant has arrives at a Gilded Age. The kingdoms are at a supposed new level of peace, but not all is good. Faunus, while now considered citizens, are discriminated against, and a terrorist group called the White Fang has emerged because of this inequality. Those living outside the kingdoms are suspect to Grimm attacks. Not everything is good in this world.
But there are shining beacons of hope. After the Great War, academies emerged to train young minds to become Huntsmen, or soldiers against Grimm, using their aura and dust-powered weaponry, and thus protecting those that cannot protect themselves and help rend Remnant’s rifts (try saying that ten times fast.) Beacon Academy, one of these huntsman academies, located in Vale, is a prestiged Huntsman academy. The skills taught there transforms young students into elite warriors against darkness, which helps brighten the world.
But beneath the golden surface of Remnant lies problems, even greater than just Grimm or the White Fang. Dark forces are rising, and they will soon make themselves known to the world. But for now, a new class of students are arriving at Beacon, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead of them.
Eh. Just don't screw up.

Ok, good.
This is where I'll put all the team stuff when I get around to it.
Physique Regem is short standing at only 5 foot and 4 and weighing a paltry 122 pounds. Lithe with wiry muscles, Regem is stronger and tougher than people give him credit for. He has very pale skin that never tans or darkens even hours in the sun, but he sunburns easily. His snow white hair is styled casually and on top of his head are a pair of white rabbit ears. He has golden eyes. His sense of style is flashy and fashionable as he wants to look presentable to the world.
Race Faunus
Team ????
Motivation Regem wants to make a world a safer place so people wouldn't lose their parents like he did as a kid.
Personality Regem is a strong willed and driven young man who is determined to prevent any harm to all innocents especially of children and their parents. Due to his childhood he dislikes any form of death, even “Noble” or “Necessary” ones. His main motivation his is lost loved ones and his lost childhood. He sees the world in multitudes of grey, never believing that a person is born evil, he believes that most action made by a person is by choice so when he meets a willingly evil villain, he feels especially just to fight them and show them that justice always win.
Regem is selfless and loving to a fault, he’s very supportive of his friends and teammates. But outside of his driven and compassionate personality he is very friendly and sociable, and strangely enough although he has a strong personality he is surprisingly easy to hurt, getting depressed when others are sad or when they say something hurtful towards him as he takes everything to heart. He is very emotionally intelligent, able to understand emotions and reasons behind actions better than most due to both high empathy and his heightened sense helping him pick up people’s emotional cues.
He also has a more savage side to him when in battle, he fights using anything at his disposal and even fight dirty to win. He has been known to win most of his battles since many people didn’t expect him to fight the way he does, which catches them off guard and he uses that shock to his advantage. But he always feels bad after an especially brutal battle.
Brief Bio
Regem's life started out peacefully in Menagerie. Regem was born into a nice community village on the outskirts of habitability and the deserts. It was one of the richer communities on Menagerie maybe even outside of the country as it is a mining community of dust and other useful materials. Unlike Atlas' infamous Schnees The Dewitts were humane and spread the wealth around to the rest of Menagerie so while the family were comfortable and sometimes bought fancy stuff for themselves they were for the most part down to earth and likable.
But when Regem was young his parents died saving miners from a collapsing tunnel, Regem although happy the miners were saved was upset at his parent's death finding it pointless as it could've been avoided by what they learned later, the tunnel collapsed due to failure to notice a grimm in the mines until it was too late. It was at that day Regem decided to become a Huntsmen. He would train every day and eventually learned his semblance and use his inheritance to build a weapon and the dust from his family's mine to better improve it.
Since Menagerie doesn't having a hunting academy of its own Regem decided to go to Vale to become a huntsmen. He was accepted into Beacon academy. But his first biggest hurdle of his life is encountering humans for the first time in his life. As he has never encountered Humans in Menagerie and is feeling intimidated by it. But he will persist and become a Huntsmen!
Semblance
telekinesis
A very simple but useful Semblance, one that allows Regem to move objects of various mass with his mind the heaviest thing he lifted with his semblance is a cargo truck for a minute. But the heavier the object the more it uses up his Aura so he often uses it to manipulate smaller and lighter stuff I.E his Weapon as well as make himself levitate so he's harder to detect. His semblance is disrupted by defensive auras so if somebody doesn't want to be lifted by his semblance they can't but he can lifted up people who's auras are depleted or down.
Weaponry
Rabbit's Foot
It may seem like a regular Boomerang but it in fact powered by the dust inserted into the center of it. Depending on the dust inserted it has different powers and abilities.
Air Dust: The Rabbit's foot can generate powerful gales and tiny but strong tornado when thrown or swung
Fire Dust: The Rabbit's foot can generate flame tornado when thrown or fling fire when swung
Water Dust: The rabbit's foot creates miniature hurricanes when thrown
Lightning Dust: The Rabbit's foot most dangerous dust capabilities, it shoots powerful thunder bolts when swung and lightning storms when thrown.
Physique A young woman whose height usually has her towering over most girls her age, she stands at five feet nine inches. Her limbs are long, giving her a willowy look, her skin on the paler side of the spectrum. Her features are refined, her curves leaving little impression on most (much to her dismay), her bust and waist modest. She lets her dirty blonde hair hang loosely around her most of the time, with bangs covering her forehead and a barrette picking some of it off her face. Her eyes are a cloudy gray and usually sharp. Her usual battle attire leans towards the simpler side. Her casualoutfits vary, though they're guaranteed to be frilly and feminine. She tries to dress on the modest side, though her skirts end up coming out a little shorter than intended due to her height.
Race Human
Team ---
Motivation To explore the world and see all it has to offer.
Personality A rather cool, reserved, and serious young woman. There are very few things that faze or get a reaction out of her, resulting in a rather emotionally repressed attitude. That isn't to say she doesn't feel, it simply takes a lot of effort to show it. She has a hard time understanding other people, although she does know how to sympathize. Her upbringing did include manners, although she takes it an extra step further by being unflinchingly polite, even to those who probably don't deserve it. She is rather pampered, used to the finer things in life, carrying a gracefulness about her that coupled with her coldness gives her the air of a snob. Knowing how people perceive her, she does wish to get closer to people, but doesn't know how. Her first year let her get familiar with people, though she hasn't exactly made any tight connections. She's determined to change things, promising herself to be more open, although getting out of her comfort zone is a challenge.
Despite it all, she feels like her true self on the battlefield. There's something about the thrill of it that makes her come alive. She retains her level-headedness, but becomes much more vocal and aggressive, her preferred style of a no-holds beat down considered rather ruthless. She is very capable of working on her own, her semblance enabling her to be self-sufficient, and her calm head lets her have a lot of situational awareness.
Brief Bio
Aurelia was born into a family of much wealth, and she was loved very dearly by them. She was spoiled beyond reason, showered with gifts nearly every day, her mother and father loving, and she was happy. She did remember, however, that one day, suddenly everything changed. The happy childhood became one of much fighting and arguments. Her family became distant, her mother and father moreso, and it killed her to see everyone act that way. She knew it was somehow her fault--she could never forget the way her family members would glare at her, throwing her nasty looks, how her father's loving look turned to one made of pure sadness, though no one ever bothered to tell her why. And so she got her own little shell and stayed in it for as long as she could. It was not until her mother died that the fighting stopped, but now she felt a deep, painful sadness instead. She did not understand why anything had happened, and as frustrating as it was, there was nothing she could do. And so she just accepted it. The so called ray of sunshine was that now her father was like the way he used to be--kind, loving, and slightly smothering, though she loved it. He was back to normal, but she could never go back to the way she was. He understood, gently pulling her out of her shell, having the patience of a saint when she hid. While this was equally as confusing, it was easier to adapt to. Her father raised her the best he could, though sometimes when he thought she wasn't looking, he would have an expression of regret, but she never got the courage to ask him what was wrong. Years down the road, Aurelia discovered Dust, often looking towards the stores the same way most kids would look at candy stores. Her father got the hint and started practicing with her, showing her how to use it properly and warning her of the dangers. She then asked him what Dust was really used for, and he explained that Dust was what Hunters would use to fight off the Grim. She remembered perking up at the story, After much pleading, tears, and a very reluctant father's blessing, Aurelia enrolled into Sanctum Academy. Fighting was an alleviating experience. It was actually a little scary how free she felt in battle, but it was with pride that she found her calling as well as developed her own style. After much studying, many bruises, the discovery of weaponry and the delights of battle, she was accepted into Beacon, more then ready and willing to become a Huntress.
The family of Rampion were once well known in weapon manufacturing, only to fail when they were exposed to use Faunus slave labor. With their wealth quickly declining, they became desperate to keep their money. And so the family of Persinette came forward, offering them wealth, in exchange for closing down their company and to give their eldest daughter, a woman of astounding beauty by the name of Angelique, to the Persinette's eldest son, a young man with no ambition named Dominic, in marriage. The two were wed and locked into an unloving relationship, as Angelique resented being used by her family. Still, they were expected to continue the family line, and so Aurelia was born, and she was doted on by all. That isn't to say she fixed their relationship, as Dominic grew suspicious as Aurelia got older. You see, both Angelique and Dominic were dark haired and dark eyed, and yet Aurelia had blonde hair with bright eyes. He refused to believe that Aurelia was his daughter, and the two families got into a feud that would become common gossip. Unfortunately, this extended to the young girl; what once was a cheerful, happy child became very enclosed and afraid of nearly everyone. She would often hide wherever she could and not speak to anyone for days, afraid of getting yelled at and blamed for something she couldn't control. For many years this continued, and one day, Angelique grew very ill. On her deathbed, she begged Dominic to stop the fighting between the families, regretting that she let it continue for so long. It was here he asked if Aurelia was really his daughter, and he was heartbroken when she would not respond right away. She admitted to having an affair shortly after they were married. Still, she asked that he take care of Aurelia, as once she was dead no one would take care of her. Angelique died shortly after that, and despite a lingering anger, he made sure to try to go with her words. Despite her wishes, however, the two families shunned one another, and after Angelique's death, they never spoke or acknowledged one another ever again. While he failed at that, he made sure he wouldn't make the same mistake with Aurelia--even if she wasn't his blood, he admitted that she was the last person he truly loved.
Semblance Efficiency Aurelia is able to manipulate the way her body expends energy. If she need be, she can endure much longer in battle then most people. She can also use more energy than usual if the situation arises, resulting in a 'power boost' of sorts. She doesn't require as much nourishment or sleep, either, though when she does finally crash it takes a lot longer for her to recover. This also extends to her usage of other things such as Dust: she uses less Dust for her spells, and is able to fire off much more then the average person. It also works in the reverse, being able to power it up more than most people can.
Weaponry Rampion A seemingly straightforward staff that looks like something straight out of a story book. Its primary use is as a conductor for Dust, though it has two 'modes' in expelling it. The first comes out as normally casted spells, usually quick and in rapid succession. The second spins the top, forming a sort of cannon from which Dust expels in a much larger, stronger amount, though it takes more time for each burst. Its metals are also heavy and durable, making the staff practical for close distance fighting as well.
I feel like the two people that posted don't know about the colour naming rule
Regem is a biblical name meaning purple, Dewitt means "The White" in Dutch so that fits with the color naming convention of Rwby~ Regem's color is purple and white but if I have to give him a specific color it would be Violet~
Also with Rwby color naming doesn't have to directly mean a color as it could relate to a color which is what I'm guessing what Ninja did as Aiden means little fire which could relate to red or orange or even yellow. And Himura in japanese is Scarlet Village so I'm guessing his color is red or more specifically scarlet
Given the explanations provided, I rescind my previous comment.
Also, I've got so many ideas, I'm not sure which one to choose:
My first idea is a mute hunter, maybe a Deer Faunus, that uses a compound bow/double-bladed glaive. He's used to working alone, and has a semblance that allows him to see the world around him in black and white, with people and creatures identified in colours denoting their intentions. White is neutral, blue is a friend, pink is someone in love, red is an enemy etc with gold being a target he has deliberately selected for tracking purposes and Grimm showing up like they appear physically except with a mild glow. He can also identify their remaining aura by the intensity of their glow.
My second idea is an Atlesian military project: a cyborg. Son of an Atlesian weapon designer is heavily wounded, resulting in the loss of his arms and legs, and is given experimental robotic limbs with built-in weapon systems by his father. He can use hard-light blades for melee combat and built-in energy rifles for ranged attacks, both of which can be modified using internal dust distribution systems, or hard-light shields for defence. His semblance creates a rotating electromagnetic field around him, which is used to charge the robotics via magnetic induction and thusly can't be utilised outside of his body. Instead, he can release the power output limiters as a pseudo-semblance that increases his speed, strength and weapon damage but drains his internal power stores faster than he can recharge them. He can also overcharge his systems, which increases them even further but risks fairly serious damage to his robotic parts.
My third idea is a Wolf Faunus armed with a Battle Rifle/Hand-and-a-half sword, with a semblance that summons spectral wolves made of aura that he can fuse with to increases his speed, strength, senses and aggression. He was raised by criminal parents, ran away as a teenager and ended up leading a street gang of similar teens, where they lived by stealing valuable items and fighting off rival gangs. The group was nearly caught by the police after a huge fight broke out with another gang, but he gave himself up to let the others get away. To avoid prison, he accepted a deal to enroll at Beacon.
Physique Cinna stands at a modest 5'7" with very long, red hair. She is exceptionally fit as her tone physique and muscles will attest to. Her hair is often just like in her picture, with some kind of bow tied near the end. Cinna weighs nearly 135 pounds and is on the rather slim size. Style is not a huge factor in her clothing as he prefers her outfits simply to be comfortable and practical, especially those in which he fights in. Her only preference is pieces of clothing that either make her look cool or intimidating. While she had not been extremely gifted in her assets, she is perfectly content with what she has.
Race: Human
Team: None
Year: 1
Motivation Cinna wants to lead a better life than one of crime and help others instead of harm them.
Personality It was for a long time that Cinna had to look out for herself and only herself. That attitude has only begun to change, albeit very slowly. She has a natural distrust and dislike of people in places of authority and power, which often ends in her breaking some kind of rule. It is one of her core beliefs that only those with strength have the power to change anything, while the weak have to endure the strong's choices. She struggled for most her life forcing her to adopt a much more cynical view of the world. Despite being slow to trust others, she is very protective of those who earn that trust. When it comes to assignments, she is very mission oriented and seeks to finish quickly in the best manner possible. Her will to survive is incredibly strong and is willing to do anything to make sure she stays alive.
Brief Bio Cinna was born in the poorer parts of Mistral, where criminal activity is at its highest. All she knows is that her parents abandoned her at a very young age before a group of criminals took her in. They cared for her when no one else would so naturally Cinna grew attached to them. When she grew old enough, they showed her how to pick-pocket and to steal when no one was looking. Soon enough, Cinna was falling quickly down the same path as her care-takers. What she has done is her secret to keep. One day she was sent out into the wilderness by her so-called family, something about an exchange, when a pack of grimm appeared and attack. No matter how fiercely she fought, there were too many for her. If it wasn't for the help of a huntsman, she would have died right there having never accomplished anything.
The huntsman took her into his home in Vale, away from the vile environment she had been living in. Cinna owes everything to her rescuer and made a promise to herself that she would change. The huntsman told her about beacon and becoming a huntress, someone who works to protect the world from the forces of grimm. Cinna had already determined that she wanted that kind of strength the moment he rescued her. A chance to change someone's life for the better just as he had done for her. She got admitted to beacon and she couldn't recall a happier or prouder moment in her life. The huntsman helped her make her weapon, Sovereign Right, before she left for Beacon.
Semblance Kinetic Release Cinna's body absorbs a portion of force of anything that strikes her, storing it for later release. She can use this stored energy for making her own strikes harder or release it in a large area attack that pushes back foes. Recently she has figured out how to send this energy directly through her legs, allowing her to increase her speed greatly in short bursts. The explosive nature of her semblance has forced her to stay very fit. The kinetic energy naturally fades with time and is only absorbed at her will. Weaponry Sovereign Right A large lance fitted with small boosters for increased striking power, the front tip of the weapon retracts and fold away to reveal a mini-gun hidden within. Different canisters of dust can be stored in the weapon to affect the qualities of its projectiles. When not in combat, the weapon compacts into a much smaller design to make it easier to travel with.
Other Cinna has a minor obsession with metal bracelets
