Carolina Reed

Location: The Lab, Stairwell

Carolina watched as Allison went full on rage mode on Magneto as she flung a few wooden crates at him, some missed but one managed to get the man straight on. Adder fell back to the room where Cecily was as Nina managed to get past Magneto and knocking the girl to the ground, she couldn't help but smile brightly when Nina managed to get the virus in hand. Pietro then ran and managed to grab Nina, she noticed the bit of blood and scratches from the injuries when he ran past them. They seemed to all be distracted, as Carolina quickly went towards the room just as Guin had gotten injured as well, but went straight towards the computers. While Guin worked on the computers Carolina looked towards Adder, seeing the handgun in hand.

She ignored him and quickly went to grabbing all the paper work there was that she could find, and started to rip it all apart into as many pieces as she could. It was good that the Brotherhood were more focused on them instead of her and Guin as they went to destroy as much of the work as she could. Carolina would occasionally look over her shoulder seeing their friends getting injured during the fighting against Magneto and the others.

"Sorry but we are destroying all of this." Carolina said towards Cecily as well as Adder, as she continued her work, smashing whatever there was related to the work. Then she watched Cecily freezing both Pietro and Guin's legs and hands hearing Guin scream she was tempted to try and help her. But she wasn't a doctor or scientist. Once all of that was done Carolina took a step back seeing as they had the virus and Magneto appeared to be very much beaten up by Pietro. "It's over." Carolina said softly looking towards Nina who still had the virus in her hand.

Cassandra Reed

Location: The Lab (First Floor)

Cassandra stood there looking at Ayita who was in a doe form as Damon took the elevator and started to go down with the wolf, she was glad to see Charlie using his ability and managed to singe Avalanche. Toad managed to get out of the way of Ayita's attack, seeing the ugly guy starting to laugh, her attention turned towards Avalanche as he held out a hand towards her. Seeing the icer in her hand starting to vibrate violently in her hand. That is when she watched the thing quickly break apart in her hand, just leaving the grip in her hand left, letting out a groan.

Cassandra tossed the now useless remains of her gun aside as it slid and clattered across the ground, knowing that fighting against Avalanche in hand to hand, would most likely either injure her badly or even kill her. She turned her attention towards Toad and ran up towards him. Seeing the cocky little creature still laughing Cassandra socked him right in the face, and then in the gut, landing a few solid punches at the mutant.

{"I play the villain well."}

Richard was not pleased at all. Not in the least. His face was a mask of a savage snarl. Wanda went strange, Magneto went down, now that strong armed woman snatched the virus. Not that the latter was something he was horribly sad about. He didn't approve of the plague. It was a means to a ends yes, but against all humanity? It was utter madness and there were better ways. Slower ways, yes. But better! Distracted by Nina and Magneto, he missed Carolina til the girl spoke. A rookie mistake.

Whirling Richard grabbed the girl by her arm and swung her into his chest. Pinning her arms with his own. The gun's muzzle laying against her cheek. Moving so the rest of the X-Men could see the entrapped girl. "Now, now... Don't want anyone to get hurt do we?" The Adder chuckled loudly. Calling out over the din of the fight. "The vial, Mademoiselle." Leaning his head down, Richard smirked at Carolina. Speaking lowly, softly. "Be very still, and try nothing of whatever powers or training you may or may not have." He advised, patting her cheek with the muzzle. Hardly a comforting gesture, but the best he could do under this situation.

{"Nature is a harsh teacher."}

The tiger snarled as she missed Toad. His taunts however flew over fur without a barb sinking in. The woman-tiger was beyond his barbs and her eyes were filled with only the hunt. The ground below her trembled and shook with savage delight. Toad would have to wait, her amber eyes turned towards the cause of the shaking. Both the human and the tigress understood the agreement. This would have to be dealt with first. Her tail lashed the ground as the tiger turned her focus.

Whirling in a spring, she tackled Avalanche. The man had no sense to be dressed in such a foolish way. When one argued with a great cat without the proper equipment then the man usually lost. The tiger snarled down at Avalanche. Her claws digging into his shoulders, as her fangs barred in a savage growl. "You're not even a mutant... Mindless animal." Wonderland's words haunted her, and the tiger saw nothing to be haunted about. The two instincts growled and snarled at Avalanche. Fangs darted in towards Avalanche's throat. The strong survived, the weak fell. That was the law of nature. And this man was going to bring the building down! That could not happen.

Allison Andrews

Location: The Garage
{"You don't want to mess with me when I'm angry..."}

Allison wasn't messing around at this point. Confident the others could handle getting the virus from the woman, she focused her attention on Magneto. After all, he was the reason they were here in the first place. He wanted the virus made, he had plans for it. He was what drew them here.

It was his fault Oshea was dead.

He launched metal bits shards at her. While she managed to dodge the smaller ones, she felt the large pieces sink in, slicing her forehead and sides. If anything, it pissed her off more. She grabs hold of whatever is around her, "This little girl can handle herself asshole!" She flung her projectiles at him, landing shot after shot. He still stood, but she was confident he got hurt. She was in no mood to mess around anymore. She needed to take him down.

Damon

tattoo count: 2 wolves

Before Damon fully got in and waited for the metal box to move he had answered Charlie. Yeah get here quick He then proceeded to get in and keep his bow and arrow ready. He would not be caught unprepared.

Damon made his way downstairs and held up his bow with his drawn arrow not sure what he was getting into. He inhaled and gestured with his head resulting in the wolf with him to trot forward ears pricked and head going back and forth. He had no idea what to expect and if something popped out suddenly he would rather his tattoo got killed then himself. It was a harsh sentiment but as long as he lived they would not fully die...he winced as his side with the panther reminded him that he suffered pain with each death.

Meanwhile the wolf left with Ayita and cassandra began pacing after missing its lunge. Snarling teeth were expose as it paced with its eyes shifting between avalanche and toad clearly while this was a creature of ink it was fully capable of its own thoughts.

Othello

condition: still a bit medicated

Othello rolled his eyes with the shifting ground. What a showy individual Avalanche was. Why show so much power when one could just...not do that? However there was a chance those..creeps that lit him on fire were down there so to the down stairs he would go. With a straightening of his jacket he picked up his pace to make to to them a hint of a smile developing on his face.

While walking he huffed and teleported to the nearest way downstairs and straightened his jacket again. " Why walk when you can just...teleport?" The hint of a smile remained and he continued his way toward avalanche and toad with no idea what he would be walking into and seemingly not giving a damn about it. He always had a trick up his sleeves after all.

Nina van Essenhout

Location: The Facility

A sudden burst of speed and sensation of weightlessness knocked the breath momentarily from Nina's lungs, and she had a brief moment of confusion before realising what had happened. Pietro had whisked her back across the room safely, vial still in hand.

"Thanks." She murmured breathlessly, taking in the cuts that had suddenly appeared on his body. In fact, the more she looked, the more injuries she was seeing from everyone else. Magneto was definitely doing some damage with his metal. Still, this wasn't deterring Pietro, and he was making good of his promises to the X-Men. Taking out Scarlet Witch as she targeted Nina, and then tackling Magneto to the floor. Nina blinked in surprise as he decked his father straight in the face, acting more serious than she had seen before. It couldn't have been easy to do that to one's own father, regardless of the situation.

It seemed that their foes were being taken care of quite well; Allison and Pietro were keeping Magneto more than occupied; Cecily and Scarlet Witch had both been knocked out by their brother, and the rest of the group had decimated the computers with brute force and retro 8-bit games. However, before Nina could even react to Guin, Laine caught her attention. As did the gun in his hand, and the girl he was pointing it at, holding her close. For the second time in this mission, Nina's heart skipped a beat.

She'd promised Cassandra that she'd look out for Carolina during the mission, and yet here they were, at a literal Mexican stand-off. Jaw clenching as Laine requested the vial in her hand, she glanced at it momentarily before looking back to him.

"Alright... just... don't hurt her." She said softly, walking towards him carefully with her hands raised, the plague still clenched tightly in her left one. Of course, she had no intention of giving up the plague. But the others were preoccupied at the moment, and someone had to help Carolina. Thankfully for Nina, most of her foes tended to underestimate her small stature and surprising strength. Even if Laine didn't - she was going to put up a fight.

As she got just near enough to pass the plague to him, Nina instead ran the last few steps towards him, striking out with her free hand in an attempt to get the gun away. While he was still clinging onto Carolina, Nina had knocked the glock from his hand, and is skittered across the floor.

"If you want it, come and get it." She snapped, glancing at Carolina and hoping that the girl would wrestle free herself - if she got away, she could take the plague away to safety while Nina dealt with Laine.

Charlie Farrier

Location: The Facility

Although he would have liked nothing more than to jump into the elevator alongside Damon, Charlie couldn't bring himself to leave with Ayita and Cassandra locked in battle.

"Guys, c'mon!" The protest was said weakly, as if he already knew it would fall on deaf ears. At least with Ayita, anyway. She seemed to be gripped by the lust of the hunt, and Charlie was in no hurry to drag her off Avalanche and lose an arm in the process. The trouble was, he was of no use to them at the moment - he didn't have enough control over his fire - or ice - to attack his enemies without hurting Cassandra or Ayita in the process. Instead, he'd just have to act as back-up... readying his palms, Charlie stood perpendicular to the corridor wall, ready if anyone else was to show up at either end of the corridor. The thought of Othello and Sabretooth tied up upstairs flashed across his mind, along with the body of Oshea. It was only a matter of time before they came lose and tracked them down.

Othello, Cassandra, Charlie, and Ayita

Othello has shown up, and can see that there is currently a tiger trying to chomp on Avalanche, and Cassandra is currently wrestling with Toad. That doesn't last very long though, as Avalanche manages to toss Ayita off of him, throwing her against the wall with a loud thud, and Toad jumps up and away from Cassandra, landing by Othello. "So, come to join the party?" Toad asks as he turns back to look at Ayita, Cassandra and Charlie, since it looked like the other kid had gotten into the elevator. Othello will recognize Cassandra and Charlie from upstairs.

Marygold Isley

The elevator lands on the bottom floor, and Damon can see the chaos in front of him. Marygold finally has her head clear enough for her to do something. Magneto was still standing, and was pissed off at Allison to say the least. He started throwing metallic things at her, picking up different objects, as he went. The man definitely has some strength left despite taking a beating. The first object he sends flying misses her by a long shot, the next one, well Allison is a little less lucky with that one. Remember the filing cabinet that had taking out Marygold? He picked it up again, using his powers, and this hit Allison in the head, leaving her in a dazed state for a little while, everyone's heads were hurting now.

She didn't know what to do, take out Magneto, or help Carolina and Nina? She thought for a moment, before thinking that Pietro could probably get Carolina out better than she could, and he already was probably having problems with fighting his family. Her head was hurting, but she saw something that Magneto hadn't grabbed yet. A metal cabinet door was lying on the ground nearby, and she was thinking what were the odds he wouldn't notice her with it.

Carefully, she managed to pick it up, using his attention on Allison as a distraction, before she brought it down on his head. There was a loud crack, and even with his helmet, his eyes rolled up, and he went down. This time it looked like for a while, since he didn't appear to be moving. She dropped the door before moving over to Allison. "Nice job hitting him around a little bit, was probably the only reason he finally went down. You okay? Do you think you can get up?" she asked her as Marygold looked at the blood coming from Allison's head.

Pietro, meanwhile, had been debating about who to deal with as well, and was grateful that Marygold was well enough finally to make the choice for him. He ran over, managing to get Carolina out of Richard's arms, sometimes he found interesting uses for his abilities. "All yours Nina, let's see about getting that away from him," he said to her, giving her a wink and taking the vial from her, and moving away, along with pulling Carolina along behind her so she could move away more quickly.

Cecily is conscious, and able to get up off of the ground. So she isn't out of this fight yet, unlike most of her family by now.

Guinevere Stark

Location: Brotherhood Headquarters - Inside the Main Lab - New York, New York
{"That man is playing Galaga! He thought we wouldn't notice, but we did." "}

Guin held her hand up to her comm, activating it again through the Stark Secure Server. "J.A.R.V.I.S., stand down," Guin said quietly. Somehow, they had ended up on top after all of the chaos. She rolled her eyes slightly at the antics of the various Brotherhood members. They were beaten but they refused to stand down. Guin pulled out her icer and fired off a rapid shot, hitting Scarlet Witch square in the chest and knocking the mutant out.

Magneto seemed to be taken care of, with Marygold knocking him out. Pietro and Nina were handling Richard, with Carolina whisked away to safety and the virus now securely in Pietro's hands. Maybe it was the dizziness or the potential concussion, but she felt like smiling and crying at the same time. She then switched her comm to an open channel, one that both the X-Men and S.H.I.E.L.D. would have access to. "This is Agent Stark. Virus is secure. Repeat: virus is secure." She then hesitated for a moment. Protocol would say that the Brotherhood members would need to be detained and sent to a secure S.H.I.E.L.D. facility - the Fridge, most likely.

Her eyes flickered over towards Pietro. "Hostiles have been detained," she then said, before removing her hand from her comm.

Cecily, meanwhile, had come to on the ground. Despite her disorientation, it didn't take her long to get a grasp of the situation. Scarlet Witch and Magneto were both unconscious. Richard was disarmed. The lab was in tatters, with all of their research destroyed, and Pietro held the virus. She thought for a moment about trying to appeal to Pietro and get him to turn back, but it was too risky. Odds were, he'd still betray them in the end. She quietly crept to her feet, before running towards the elevator.

"Really, you can't just stay down?" Guin groaned, aiming her icer at Cecily and attempting to get a shot off. She missed, as Cecily just barely dodged to the side in time. "Silver Balls, can you handle the rest of your batshit crazy family?" Guin then called out.

Richard Laine

Location Brotherhood Headquarters - New York, New York - Basement
{"Well shit."}

So maybe taking a hostage hadn't been the best idea. But it hadn't been the worst, til it didn't work out. Magneto was out, Cecily wasn't his problem nor was Scarlet Witch. Slitted eyes moved left and right as Richard watched the X-Men and SHIELD agents. A mixed group- a group that did a good job. As much as Magneto was paying him, it wasn't enough to risk capture. Which was looking likely. "Well, damned." His tone was impressed, as he sorted out escape possibilities. He couldn't afford to be shoved into some prison system. Not with his sister MIA. He needed to get out of dodge and now.

The elevator was his best bet. "I opened the doors for you." He reminded the team softly, but letting his voice ring clear. Moving towards the elevator and keeping out of reach of the group- keeping as many as possible in sight. "Magneto paid me. I shot one of your men to disable. I could have killed him. Could have killed the girl." Richard nodded towards Carolina. Keeping his hands from his jacket as he moved. Letting them know he was not going to draw a weapon. Silver boy knew his powers as a shifter. "I go up that elevator and I'm gone. Killing all humans is a waste of my time." Tilting his head, the Adder prepared to knock aside a grapple, grab or attack. Hoping they would accept reason and a honest Adder. Giving Pietro a sharp look, almost a plea behind those narrowed eyes. "Speedy... Did I threaten your girl? I tried to get Wanda to give me the first go. Get her out or buy her time for reinforcements to show up. You got your girl. Let me find my sister. Ay's a child." He didn't know her full name, but he did know that. The countless times he shouted that over waves and wind. He didn't like asking, didn't like that it sounded like begging. He hated begging, but Ay was more important than his pride right now. Though his jaw was tight in fury at this turn of event. A bad mark on his record.

Ayita Dyrkin

Location Brotherhood Headquarters - New York, New York - Hallway
{"Ow."}

Ayita hit the wall and fell to the floor. That had hurt, but to be fair. It was the first bruise she got thus far. Toad was a chatty and annoying creature. Though to be fair, his words were easily brushed off. More cruel ones had been said. Though it was the new comer that made the tiger pause. There was a odd look to him. He just seemed very... odd. Shifting the tiger-woman saw why. Violet eyes. That was something she hadn't seen before. But there was a lack of something in them, Ayita thought. It took away from his interesting look. Oddly it was something that Damon had.

What was she thinking?! The woman stamped on the thoughts. Now was not to think about humans and their oddness. Though that missing something made her crouch and lunge at Toad. Her claws stretched out and ready to rend the man from head to toe. Or whatever she could nab on him. At least she could take down that irritating cretin. A toad was low on the totem pole, and she was the apex. And... she missed, her paws crashing to the floor as the springing bastard leaped away. She'd rip them all apart and to hell with it! That idiot went downstairs- wounded- and these two were up here! Her amber eyes narrowed with a single thoughts. Humans. Were. Idiots.

Carolina Reed

Location: The Lab, Stairwell

Carolina yelped loudly when Richard suddenly reached over to her and started to struggle slightly as she felt the barrel of a gun held to her cheek. She thought about using her ability on him, either to simply possess him, or to put the suggestion in his head to release her Carolina watched as Nina started to take a few steps closer towards her. Carolina felt very fearful that he would end up shooting her, it was really risky. Then Nina launched forward managing to knock the gun out of his hand, still holding the virus in her hand Carolina watched Marygold go in for the kill and knocking Magneto out with the filing cabinet.

She then found herself on the other side of the room with Nina and the virus she was grateful for not being held captive by the man. Guin firing an icer round at Scarlet Witch, and Cecily making a run for the elevator along with Richard. It seemed that everything was wrapping up now, which she was glad they managed to secure the virus and destroy the work. Carolina eyed Richard for a moment as she looked towards Marygold and the others for a moment wondering what their plans were for him, he was about to get away as Guin started to relay their message that they had the virus and the mission was complete.

Cassandra Reed

Location: The Lab (First Floor)

Cassandra watched as Ayita was taking on Avalanche, shed help her but she didn't have any abilities to take on the mutant who could most likely just shake her apart. She watched Toad managed to get out of the way after leaving a few bunches on the mutant's face her eyes wondering over towards yet a newcomer as she got ready to attack them. Then Cassandra froze for a moment pressing a hand to her ear piece as she heard Guin's voice on the other end.

The mission was a success now they just needed to get the virus away and secured, Cassandra looked towards Avalanche, Toad, and Othelo eyeing them. "Magneto's defeated, and we have the virus I suggest you stand down." Cassandra said towards them, there were three of them on each side, she really hoped that the remaining Brotherhood would stand down.

Allison Andrews

Location: The Garage
{"Did we win?"}

Allison unleashed whatever she could, but Magneto was not going down without a fight. Try as she might, as much as she hit him, he kept standing and fighting back. She could feel her anger building up. It needed to be let out. If she went any further though...

Before she could see it and stop it, Magneto had a filing cabinet flung at her, smacking her clear across the head. She stumbled back, feeling the blood pour down. Her vision was a bit blurred, and she fell on her knees. She looked up, clenched her fists, and prepared to unleash a hell storm.

Then Marygold stepped in and took him down.

She would laugh at how funny it was, but she was in no laughing mood. Not yet. Maybe later. When Marygold came to check on her, she wanted nothing more than to say she was fine. She wasn't. She rubbed her wounded head a bit, feeling the warm blood pool down. She was injured and her vision was still blurry. She felt dizzy. She spent what energy she had and then some. She looked up to Marygold and gave a weak smile, "Did we win?" before she passed out.

Damon Fawkes

tattoo count: 2 wolves

Damon blinked at the chaos in front of him. There was a lot to take in and given that magenta of all people were present his arrows would probably not be as helpful as they could be. With a quick motion he started moving. He could at least help out someone...he did not quite know who yet, but he was moving. As he was doing so magneto was taken out so that was a plus.

What Damon soon realized was that he was heading for Marigold and Allison while his wolf tattoo was heading for magneto. The wolf laid on top of the man as if to keep him down, which given how the wolf's maw was near magneto's throat in case the guy did chose to wake up it was a pretty safe bet.

Damon made it to them and nodded. Clearly he was there to help however he was needed.

Othello

condition: ??

Othello looked at the chaos in front of him and slowly a grin swept his face as his watch began to go off signaling to him that he needed to take his pills. In his vision each individual changed and warped and while he heard what was said it was processed differently. Just in time he moved and avoided being taken out by what looked like to him a neon pink wolf.

Vacant lavender eyes looked around and Othello shook his head his voice slightly off. "Well, it was quite fun while it lasted but I think I shall take my leave rather then get captured. After all what kind of time waste would that be for me." A laugh escaped him. "Almost as good as being locked away while knowing you can leave out the front door."

With that said, Othello made a dramatic bow and seemed to vanish in a puff of purple smoke abandoning those he had teamed up with, but they probably were prepared for that from someone who was clinically not right in the head. However, given Othello, if he was really needed he would not be terribly difficult to find if one were to really look for him.

Nina van Essenhout

Location: The Facility

Things were finally coming to a head, and the climax of their mission was certainly weighing heavily in the X-Men's favour. Magneto was having particularly bad time after being tag-teamed by Pietro and Allison, just to be utterly knocked out by Marygold and her choice weapon of a metal cabinet door. Following this, Pietro has whisked both Carolina and the vial away from Richard, leaving Nina so utterly relieved that she didn't even roll her eyes as the boy cheekily winked at her. Unfortunately, before she could deal with the Brotherhood snake before her, he had slithered away while she became distracted with Cecily being shot at, the last Maximoff sibling making a break for it. Thankfully, he didn't make it very far.

"And what's to stop you harming more innocents in the pursuit of your missing sister?" She retorted, circling around his slowly to put herself between Laine and the elevator. It seemed as though the man was truly desperate in his motives, but Nina knew better than anyone that good motives didn't mean a damn when people got caught in the crossfire. While she'd been given the opportunity to redeem herself in some way, Laine was clearly unapologetic. He'd used Magneto to get information, and he'd use S.H.I.E.L.D to get information too. While it was a possibility that one day he could change, it certainly wasn't going to happen while he still sought after his sister.

"Just give it up, Richard. You're surrounded, and there's nowhere to go." Her tone of voice was almost sympathetic, despite the triumph she was feeling over the team having secured the plague in enough time. Richard had just put his trust into the wrong genocidal, mutant megalomaniac.

Charlie Farrier

Location: The Facility

As an unfortunately familiar face appeared behind Avalanche and Toad, Charlie froze - his fingertips did too, the flames in his palms dying away as frost overtook his hands. That weird guy that had showed up after Oshea died... he was awake, and free. Did that mean Sabretooth was about to join him? Regardless of them being outnumbered, Charlie wasn't sure if he could handle seeing the animalistic mutant again. The possibility of him locking up and letting someone else die was just all too real for him.

However, good news from Cassandra brought warmth flooding back to his veins, and not even grief could stop his heart leaping now. They had the virus! Suddenly, the true weight of what they had achieved came crashing down on him in relief. The amount of innocent people that could have died were now saved from Magneto's petty grudge against humankind, all thanks to the X-Men and S.H.I.E.L.D Agents. And all on his first mission, too!

Feeling more confident now, Charlie fell into step beside Cassandra and Ayita, the latter still in her snarling tiger form. Although having pulled a face as Othello slipped away into a puff of smoke, the thought of taking these two down (And Sabretooth upstairs) was more than enough to make up for one escapee.

"I suggest you listen to her, fellas. Trust me - surrender is a lot less painful than your alternative." Said with a smirk (Victory was making the usual introverted mutant quite cocky), Charlie had raised his palms as he spoke, flames beginning to flicker there. Just a little bit - to get his point across.

Cassandra, Charlie, and Ayita

Toad looked like he was about to charge at them again, before Avalanche smacked him on the top of his head. "Give it a rest Toad, it's over. Othello booked it, and that tiger there would probably have killed you already if you weren't so quick," he said as he looked towards Carolina and Charlie, "Now, can you call the tiger woman off or whatever? She is starting to worry me a little."

Marygold Isley

"Yeah, we won," she said to Allison as she watched her pass out. She looked up at the others, glad that the virus was out of harms way, and they had managed to prevent utter destruction. This mission had gone way better than the previous one, which made her grateful. At least they didn't blow anything up. Now they just needed to meet up with the rest of the group upstairs. They also needed to do something about Magneto and the rest.

Pietro raced over, slamming into Cecily, knocking her down again. "Would you just stop it already, you've lost Cecily," he said, before it registered in his mind what Richard had just said. Anyone who looked at his expression as he turned to face Richard could practically see the gears turning in his brain, which was surprising considering his mind runs at top speed. "Wait, Ay? What is that saying, that siblings tend to have similar powers or something? Man, I'm sounding like a textbook. Anyway, is that name short for Ayita? Cause she's a shape-shifter who is currently upstairs"."

Marygold just looked at him, before turning to everyone else. "Alright, let's get upstairs and get out of here. Unfortunately that means we have to haul these guys up with us, this should be fun. Someone mind giving me a hand here" she said as she got up, kind of supporting Allison a little bit. Pietro glanced around real quick, before zipping around and loading his family members into the elevator. "You'll get in too if you know what's good for you," she said to Richard, glancing at the elevator. It was a decently sized one, so everyone would be able to fit in without too much trouble.

Once everyone was in, the elevator ascended, and the group would find themselves right behind Cassandra, Charlie, and Ayita, with Avalanche and Toad facing them. Looked like the trouble was over for the most part. They were home free, which was a nice feeling. "Once we get everyone out, Pietro, could you by chance go and get Oshea's body, and Sabretooth who might still be up there knocked out." Marygold said quietly, and he nodded in response.

Ayita Dyrkin & Richard Laine

Location Brotherhood Headquarters - New York, New York
{"Bickering. Fun."}

Richard froze. Slowly he turned to look at Pietro. The Adder's expression went from cross that Nina got in his way, to a thoughtful look.
"Ayita..." The word rolled off his tongue slowly. Swiftly and completely ignoring all the enemies and former allies about him the man strode the elevator. It couldn't be. Could it? She had stared right at him. Had she not recognized him? It was possible, she was- had been only five when he had left. Her eyes had been a light brown, eyes of a doe he had remembered so well. "The damned eyes!" The hired gun muttered to himself as the elevator ascended. Had the doe become a predator? Was it possible? He frowned deeply as the cramped box rose from the bowels of the building.

Up above Ayita looked at Avalanche before shifting back to her human form, her muscles still tight as she watched the two Brotherhood members. At least the one who shook the earth had enough sense. Baring her teeth at Toad, Ayita gave the annoyance a feral smile. Far more of a threat than a comfort. No one could call her off, save herself. She was a predator and while she wouldn't say it. She was pleased that Avalanche was worried about her. Very please. The ding of the elevator coming up made her glance to the side to check it but that hardly prepared her for the two hand that snatched her shoulders. It was the snake-eyed man again. Her amber eyes narrowed in anger, this was the man who shot Damon. Her displeasure was a growl.

Richard strode from the elevator to seize the other shifter by the shoulder, the photograph of a distracted girl staring out at the sea. Light auburn hair was blowing about her face in wild curls. The woman under his hands snarls and jerked back, but Richard held firm. Staring at the girl-woman for a long moment. The eyes were looking at him with such rage, but it was there. That wild nature was there. He cursed himself for not recognizing it. "It is you... Ayita." The Adder whispered shoving the photo into a pocket of his pants. The wild-child froze and stared at the man. Eyes uncertain.

"How do you know my-?" Ayita froze and stared at the man. Richard Laine. Looked at the man sharply. Laine. The last name she had run away from for years. Had refused to take when her mother had cast her out. It wasn't possible. That man had long hair, black like this one but he was not so old. So well dressed. So... alive. "He's dead." Her voice was a snarl.

Richard was already shaking his head. "She lied Ay. She lied about a lot of things to you. God, I should have never left you alone." Pulling a bulge from his suit, the deadly assassin shoved a battered partly flattened stuffed Orca into the woman's chest. Ayita blinked down at the old toy. She remembered this, she remembered getting it. The long haired big brother had left with a large bag on his back, mussing her hair and telling her to keep watching for him. And she had. For years. Her eyes snapped up towards Richard along with her fist. Richard let the blow land, it was a weak hit.

However, the knee to his family jewels left Richard on the ground. With a gaps of pain. Shoving the Orca into Cassandra's hands with a growl of "Don't let anyone hurt my orca." and fell upon the man. Pummeling him ruthlessly with fists, knees, feet, and elbows. Richard didn't fight back so much as take it and try to avoid the worst of the blows. Though the barage of words she flung struck hard and heavily. And at top volume. "You son of a bitch! You abandoned me! You said you would come back! You said! I killed our sister, our father! I killed them and she told me I killed you too! You bastard! You didn't write! You didn't call-!" "We don't have a phone!" "I had to do everything! Then she tried to kill me! You asshole! She tried to sell me to a circus! A circus! And a zoo! Do you know what they do to animals in a circus?!" "Would it help if I said I was sorry?!" There was little answer as the two of them continued to beat on each other. Well, mainly Ayita was beating on Richard who had regained his feet and was fully defensive. Fending off the very angery woman, and sporting a few bite marks from where she tried to tear out his throat. Grabbing Ayita's arm as she slowed, Richard yanked her into his chest as he pinned her arms. Though there was little he could do to avoid her kicks or headbutts.

"Missed you too, Ay." The man grinned cheekily as the younger glared up at him. Growling and snarling threats. She would calm down. Though she was mad right now, Ayita hadn't been one to hold a grudge overly long. Though he would be the first to say he deserved every grudge she had against him. Proof was the fact he was the one sprouting the bruises, the Adder thought wirly.

Guinevere Stark

Location: Brotherhood Headquarters - New York, New York
{"What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me."}

Ay? Just as it caught Pietro's attention, it caught Guin's as well. Even though she didn't have super speed as a mutation, her mind worked faster than most. It took her a fraction of a second to put the missing pieces together. Ay was short for Ayita. And Mary had mentioned before about how sometimes, mutant siblings had similar powers - unless they were the Maximoff twins, apparently. It all made sense, but she wasn't going to blurt it out and say anything. If anything, she'd send secret notes to both of them, explaining that the other was their sibling. Keep herself out of it.

Or as Pietro blurted out the explanation, Guin supposed that worked too. She felt a spiritual connection to Allison as she passed out - with all of the damage her own head had taken that day, Guin wanted nothing more than to slip into unconsciousness. But the job wasn't finished just yet. She helped Marygold get Allison into the elevator, draping one of Allison's arms around her shoulder. She was too exhausted to freak out over whether or not she'd end up switching with Allison - and fortunately, she didn't.

"And I thought your family had issues," Guin commented to Pietro, after watching the pummeling session between Ayita and Richard (well, between wasn't the best description. It more seemed like Richard had volunteered to be her punching bag). But she couldn't help but smile slightly, as much as she knew what happened next would hardly be good. S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel would be on the scene shortly to retrieve the Brotherhood members, as well as offer medical assistance. She and Mary managed to get Allison out of the elevator, with Pietro getting all of his family out in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, from what she could tell, none of the Brotherhood members up here were fighting - and everyone seemed to be accounted for - except for Oshea.

And for once, she wasn't irritated that Nina was there. Well, that was a lie. She was still annoyed by her - but she wasn't at her maximum irritation capacity (yes, there was an index for that). At the most, she was mildly miffed with Nina's existence.

"Guin, are you okay?" Pietro asked, having finished getting everyone out - except for Sabretooth and Oshea. But after everything that happened, he wanted to make sure his girlfriend was alright. He had put a hand on each of her shoulders and was quickly checking her over, causing the young Stark to blush profusely. "Could be worse - go help the others," Guin said with a bit of a smile. As much as she was aching all over and her head was still moderately spinning, it all felt so very far away in that moment.

She glanced to the side, seeing additional S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel pull up outside of the Brotherhood headquarters. Pietro still hadn't let go of her as she turned back to look at him. He was staring into her eyes and she found herself unable to look away. His heart was beating quickly and Guin felt like she had butterflies in her stomach. She bit her lip slightly, causing Pietro to widen into a broad grin before he pulled her in for a passionate kiss. Pietro lifted Guin up off her feet slightly, making up for the more than six inches of height difference between them.

And in that moment, Guin realized that maybe the idea of soulmates wasn't that crazy after all.

Director Fury

Location: Brotherhood Headquarters - New York, New York
{"Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you to exit the donut."}

Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., walked into the Brotherhood Headquarters flanked by a dozen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. He came in just a minute after Pietro and Guin kissed, about five minutes after Ayita and Richard's beat down session. The speedster had run off to grab Oshea and Sabretooth, returning a second later with Sabretooth loaded into the prisoner van that S.H.I.E.L.D. had brought and Oshea into one of the medical vehicles.

"Agent Stark, you look flushed," Fury observed, his face void of expression and his tone a deadpan. Guin was still blushing bright red, her hair not nearly long enough to mask it. Fury's eyes then took in the scene. Most of the people there, he knew. Avalanche, Toad, Magneto, Scarlet Witch - the usual lot. He couldn't help but notice that Mystique was gone - but maybe that was for the best.

"He one of theirs?" Fury then asked, as he spotted Richard. There were no records of Richard's affiliation with the Brotherhood. "Agent Chase, go tend to the wounded. The rest of you, start escorting our new friends to the van. We're shipping them out to the Raft ASAP."

A blonde agent nodded before quickly leaving the building - Cassandra would recognize her. They once had been assigned to a team together. Half of the agents then split off from the others, slapping handcuffs on the Brotherhood members before escorting them out to the van. All except Laine - Fury still didn't have confirmation as to whether or not he was with the Brotherhood. There was a chance that he was with the X-Men, even if he did look a little old for it.

The blush had begun to fade from Guin's face as Fury turned to look at her. "Agent Stark - I said, is he one of theirs?" But although Fury didn't know it, the answer wasn't as simple as that question would imply. While Richard had worked for the Brotherhood, he had done it in order to find his sister. He had helped them into the lab - and they'd given Pietro a second chance before. It'd be hypocritical not to give one for Richard. He didn't believe in Magneto's ideology.

"No, sir. He's the sibling of one of the X-Men," Guin answered. It was honest - Richard really wasn't one of the Brotherhood. He was just a hired gun.

"Is that so?" Fury asked, turning to look at Richard and Ayita for a moment. "Guess I can see the resemblance. Agents Reed, Stark, van Essenhout - you've got tomorrow off. Expect you all in for debrief the next day," Fury finished. "Let's move out." He nodded at the other agents that had come in with him, before leaving the facility. Richard had been left behind. All the other Brotherhood members had been handcuffed and loaded into a van.

Guin then glanced over towards Richard, her gaze silently communicating her message: don't make me regret this.

Carolina Reed

Location: The Lab

Carolina closed her eyes letting out a soft sigh as things seemed to be settling down, she watched as Pietro went to take the unconscious members of his psychotic family to the elevator. She started to make her way over towards Marygold, and Guin to help Allison up as well as best as she could. Heading up to the elevator, she ran a hand over the small cut over the top of her forehead looking down at the blood there. At least she wasn't that badly mangled up by the other members of the Brotherhood, Carolina was pretty quiet as the elevator got up to the top floor.

She'd occasionally give Richard the death stare at him, she still didn't like the thought of having a gun to her head once the elevator got to the top floor once more. Carolina looked towards her sister, along with Ayita, Charlie, Toad, and Avalanche they all seemed to be standing now as well which was good. Then Richard quickly went over towards Ayita, and apparently they were siblings which was surprising to her, she didn't really see the resemblance at all. Carolina tried to hold back a little bit of a laugh as she watched Ayita starting to beat up the poor man. But as far as she cared he did deserve it after having a damn gun to her head, Carolina moved over to stand next to her sister as SHIELD personnel started to come in.

Cassandra Reed

Location: The Lab

Cassandra watched as the brotherhood members started to stand down as well, well all except for one Othelo the one who she had shot earlier on the upper floors had disappeared off in a puff of smoke. "Stand down." Cassandra said calmly looking towards Ayita, just as the elevator came up to the to floor. She saw the rest of the team came back up, all of them alive though worse for wear, Cassandra was glad that they were all alright and that they managed to complete their mission. Then Ayita went into full rage mode as she handed her a worn out looking orca. Then she started to beat up the man, raising an eyebrow slightly as she watched that scene unfold, her attention turned towards Guin and Pietro seeing the two making out which made her smile slightly. Then suddenly Cassandra heard the doors opening and saw Director Fury coming in with several SHIELD agents.

Cassandra instantly recognized one of them and gave Bonnie a friendly smile, she did miss working with her old team before being assigned to work with the X-Men. She gave her friend a friendly smile and nod towards her, while looking down at Carolina seeing the small cut on her sister's forehead she gave her a concerned look. But for the most part she seemed to be alright which was good, then her attention was directed towards Director Fury.

"Yes sir." Cassandra said as all of the Brotherhood members were all getting cuffed and being sent away, she closed her eyes having a day off was what she was going to be needing. Cassandra looked towards the others that were there, she was proud for the successful mission, though they sadly did lose one of their own.

Allison Andrews

Location: The Garage
{"Good or evil?"}

Allison's unconscious body was being passed around by the others. If she were awake, she would thank them all for taking care of her. As it stood, she was still out cold. However, despite her physical form not moving, inside her mind, things were working overtime.

It wasn't a dream. Not in the sense others took it. It felt...more. That's the only word to describe it. Allison walked around. It was nothing and everything at the same time. It felt empty, but she knew things were here. Before she could explore a voice called out. "Allison. It is nice to finally meet you."

Allison turned to face the voice. A woman appeared. She was corporeal and pink, her long hair fluttering in unseen wind. Her eyes were pure white, but she looked otherwise human. Allison wasn't afraid of the woman. It felt like she had met her before.

"You don't know me. Or rather, you have not met me before, but I know you well, Allison. I know who you are." Allison felt obligated to talk to this being. "And what am I, exactly?" The woman floated forward like she was walking on air. "I believe your people call you a mutant. That is a term, correct if you look at it that way. I, however, prefer to see you and your brethren as a gift. A blessing, if you will. It may not seem like it, but you stand tall among others." The talk mad Allison feel a bit uneasy. "That sounds like something the Brotherhood would say. I don't see myself as such." The figure merely nodded. "The Brotherhood, as you call them, are correct in only one aspect. Humans and mutants are different, but they can coexist. It has been so before and so shall be. You and your friends have done well to preserve that. Even at a loss of one close to you."

Allison felt her heart break all over again. The figure seemed to have read her or heard her thoughts. "You cared for the boy. Oshea, I believe his name was? He was important to you and for that, you have my sympathy, however much that helps. Loss is something not even mutants can prevent." Allison stared at the woman again. "He was taken from us! Taken by the Brotherhood. He was gone too soon." The figure listened, but she did not seem to agree. "His loss, though tragic, was already determined. There's very few things that can alter destiny. Allison, I can feel your anger. What happened during your fight is what happens when you let your gifts conrol you rather than you controlling them. You have power. You have power that others have foguth and killed over and continue to do so to this day. You have tremendous capabilities you have only just tapped into. You are lucky, Allison."

Allison scoffed. "I don't feel lucky. I feel...beaten. I couldn't save Oshea." The woman floated forward and placed a hand on Allison's cheek. It felt cool to the touch. "You cannot save everyone. You and your friends did save a lot of people and for that you should be proud. But that is not why I am here. I am here to warn and to enlighten. I cannot say much more than this. You will have a choice going forward. Your power is great, but you must decide if you use it for good or for evil. There is no black and white answer to what is good and evil as only you must decide." Allison looked confused, "So is it like the Force? Light and dark side?" The woman smiled and nodded a bit, "I suppose one could look at it through that lense if one desires. That is all I can say. We will meet again Allison when you have made your decision. Until then, take care, and know you have others relying on you just as you rely on them."

The woman vanished and Allison felt herself fall. But it was not scary. Rather, it felt like it needed to happen.

She awoke a second later, her eyes fluttering open to see herself getting patched up. "I really need that Starbucks run."

Nina van Essenhout

Location: The Facility

Nina watched on as Richard marched past her towards the elevator, seemingly giving himself up. But since those words left Pietro's mouth, he'd changed. Something had shifted, and Nina's brow furrowed as she connected the dots. Surely not? The chances of Ayita being the lost sister must be... astronomical, to say the least. Following closely behind the others as they all left the debris-strewn basement, she went through the similarities the pair did have. Both shape-shifters, both Caucasian, both American, and Ayita shared the name of Richard's long-lost sibling. Could it really be true?

As the elevator reached the ground floor, the scene unfolding before them made it quite clear that it was indeed the case. The Laine siblings were together after over a decade, and Nina couldn't help but smile at the violent reunion. Ayita was clearly upset, but perhaps in the long run, this would be good for her. Still, the issue of Richard's misdemeanours lingered. She doubted that Fury would be all too forgiving to him for the sake of keeping a family together.

Helping the others in directing the Brotherhood members towards the van, she couldn't help but pick up on Guin and Fury's discussion, listening as he questioned about Richard. Nina had been in a similar situation to him, but she'd spent a good decade righting her wrong as best as she could before S.H.I.E.L.D approached her. If it were up to her, she would offer the same second chance she got, but Nick Fury wasn't the forgiving type. Thankfully, Guin seemed to agree, as she skated over his involvement with Magneto. Finishing up with her prisoner, Nina nodded in response to Fury's offer of a day off, gaze only turning to Guin as he walked out of earshot.

"That was good of you, Guin." While she doubted the girl particularly cared about her opinion, she felt someone should acknowledge the gesture of good faith that she had just handed to Richard. Walking away and towards Cassandra and Carolina, Nina's smile grew into a rare grin at the sight of them.

"I think that went better than expected." While the loss of Oshea certainly put a dampener on the victory, it was a victory nonetheless, and they had saved countless human lives.

Charlie Farrier

Location: The Facility

Thankfully, the other two stood down pretty quickly, though Charlie doubted it had anything to do with them being scared of a flame-handed kid with noodle arms, and more to do with Ayita. Not that he was complaining all that much - a tiger was scarier than he was any day of the week. In fact, Ayita in her human form could be just as scary, particularly when he saw the look on her face as the snake-guy popped up again. He stepped backwards as she began beating on him, not quite understanding what was going on, but deciding not the ask any questions. They seemed pretty preoccupied.

As everyone began to file out of the building, trussed up Brotherhood members being frog-marched alongside them, Charlie offered to help the injured Damon leave the facility too. His leg was still bleeding, and looked pretty painful, but hopefully there'd be no lasting damage. Watching on in a bit of awe as Directer Fury entered the scene, Charlie passed along Damon to the medical personnel as he watched the famous S.H.I.E.L.D leader for a moment. He'd heard plenty of stories about this guy's badassery, but he was in no hurry to meet the guy. He could probably freeze him to the spot with a glare from his good eye.

Collapsing into a seat by his injured teammates, Charlie heaved a heavy sigh as his adrenaline-filled body finally began to relax. Looking towards Allison as she awoke beside him, he stretched with a groan as she spoke of coffee.

"You and me both, blondie." It felt like forever since he'd drank, eaten or slept, when in reality, they'd probably been there less than half a day. He just hoped not every day with the X-Men was going to be this stressful.

"Are you sure this plan will work?" a woman's voice spoke up, as she looked at the group gathered. This could end horribly if it failed, not just for them but for everyone else. "No. The science around all of this is uncertain - and you don't want to know the odds. Trust me."another one responded, belonging to another woman. The others in the room looked over at her as she responded to the first one's question.

"Really? That is not exactly a confidence booster," another voice responded, this time the voice of a man who had just joined them. "Wasn't meant to be one - look, there's a chance that you'll be able to change the timestream. But it's also possible that time is quantized - or that any chance you attempt to make will ultimately be corrected for. And assuming we can change the past, there's the possibility that the future will become darker instead...There's a lot about this that we just don't know." the second woman responded, before she was interrupted by yet another woman.

"It will work." she said simply, the others couldn't really think of how to respond, but the first one spoke again, this time with an annoyed voice. "Would you all just shut up! Now, let's get this over with, hopefully noting too horrible will come when this is given to me. Now give me that damn serum." The room was silent for a moment, before the man responded. "Sorry, you do have a point though. We can't just sit around here doing nothing, waiting for them to catch us. We need to move, and if we wait any longer, we might just talk ourselves out of this".

"Hey, easy princess! You asked me if I was sure the plan would work." the second woman said, before grabbing a needle and the syringe that was filled with serum that they had worked so hard to make. "Here. It'll be enough to boost your powers to make the trip. You'll need all of it."

The needle injected the serum into her bloodstream, making sure that every last bit was emptied out of the syringe. "Alright, let's get this over with then." she said, as she waved her arms, making a portal, and leading the group through.

X-Mansion - After the Battle at the Lab

Guin had been up for a few hours, though as far as anyone else in the mansion was aware, she was still unconscious. She had played "dead" for her first few rounds of visitors that morning. At first, it had been because she felt too tired to interact with anyone. And then, after a certain point of time, she did it on purpose - just to see what people would do. She had half expected Pietro to say something hopelessly sentimental when he had come through an hour back, but her plans had failed.

Slowly, she opened her eyes and glanced at the other occupied bed in the ward. "Morning Poison Ivy," Guin said, her voice sounding far weaker than she felt. "How's your head?"

When she heard Guin's voice, she sat up slowly, looking over at her friend. Her hand was bandaged from the burns, and she had stitches in her head. A filing cabinet hitting her could do wonders to your head. She was still a little dizzy, but at least her head wasn't as foggy as it had been when they had returned. Marygold couldn't even really remember what had happened after her head injury, but it could have been a lot worse.

She made a face at Guin when she heard the nickname too. "Ugh, I hate that name. That would be comparing me to a plant that is actually poisonous in its own way. My head is fine, for the most part anyway. Don't really remember what happened once we left the lab though, how's yours?"

"Mm, that explains a lot about what you did when we left the lab then," Guin said with a smirk. "Honestly, if you and Pietro were that set on eloping, you could have told me. Keep love alive and all that~" she teased. Part of her had been hoping that Marygold wouldn't be able to remember the aftermath - but to be fair, Guin could only remember blurs of it herself. Her memory became muddled about around when she stupidly basically screamed come at me, bro at Magneto. "And my head seems to be fine. I mean, not really. But...I'll get better. And I'll bust out of here once Happy stops lurking at the door. He really doesn't understand the concept of loose follow..."

"Right, even though racing off places is TOTALLY what you should do after a major head injury. How many times did you hit your head again?" she said, giving Guin a grin. Unlike her, Marygold generally was a strict rule follower. There was one thing that did bug her, and she hadn't really been conscious to see if anyone asked any questions about it. "So, Guin? What exactly happened with you and Wanda? I've been wondering about it since before I got hit in the head".

"I think I lost count...Granted, my brain kept trying to count in imaginary numbers so...Who knows?" Guin quipped. According to her mind, it had been i^413 times that her head was smashed against something during the fight. However, her joking mood faltered slightly as Mary brought up what had happened with Scarlet Witch. She had been avoiding thinking about it, but to be truthful, it was just about the only thing she could think about. She opened her mouth to say something to Mary, before abruptly shutting it. Perhaps this had been the real reason she had pretended to be asleep thus far - this wasn't a conversation she wanted to have.

"Well...I think I know what happened and it's not good," Guin admitted with a sigh. She had already come to the conclusion that she likely wouldn't be able to have human contact again. What was to say that she wouldn't simply switch once more? And would she be able to control it if she did? She had failed spectacularly at that when fighting Wanda.

"oh, I see. I can probably take a guess as to what might have happened now, with the way you replied and reacted. That is a conversation you really need to have with Professor X if it's what I think it is. Don't worry about it, it probably couldn't be as bad as you think it is," she said, giving Guin a reassuring smile. The reason that she asked, was because she wondered if she knew what had happened, even though Marygold had an idea in her mind. It did surprise her that it had happened for Guin so late in life though.

Guin rolled over. She most certainly did not want to talk to Professor X about this. She didn't really want to talk to anyone about this. It'd be preferable to have palladium pumping through her system than have any sort of conversation along these lines. And of course, she was surprised as well. Her family never had any X-genes in the family tree - at least, the Starks didn't. She didn't really know about her mother's side of the family, given how much she actively avoided them. While she had always wanted to have some sort of super power growing up, it was hard for her to see this as that. "No point. I've already thought it through. If I touch anyone, I switch with them. Not only is that annoying, but...I almost got stuck in Wanda's body. And it's ironic, because I had finally started feeling comfortable in my own skin when this all happened."

"Ok, don't you think your overreacting a little bit? I mean yeah, your a mutant, so what? It isn't the end of the freaking world," she said, before laying back down and turning away from her. Now Guin was starting to piss her off. She was freaking out, that was totally understandable, it was the way she had worded it, and the way it sounded to her that made her mad. It sounded like she was pissed off at being a mutant, but at least she hadn't discovered her mutation as a kid in front of a large group of people nearby. She lived for 2 years hiding her powers before she came to the institute. Before that, she had to hide her powers in fear because of what might happen if others found out. Now her best friend was making a big deal about suddenly discovering that she was one.

"Wow Guin, I can understand how this is all shocking to you and I'm sorry you'll never be able to touch a living person again," Guin muttered under her breath, quietly enough that Mary couldn't hear. While they were best friends, they also often butted heads. And in this situation, the tension was quickly growing. Guin wasn't pissed off at being a mutant - in reality, she was terrified of her own powers now. She knew that she ought to embrace them but it was more challenging than she had previously imagined it would be. But she was also aware that anything she said to Marygold would only make the situation worse. Unfortunately, she was a Stark. That thought wasn't enough to stop her from opening her mouth.

"No, the end of the freaking world was a few days ago - or at least, it would have been. But thanks for your support when I'm freaking the fuck out. Really appreciate it - and I definitely am not having a small panic attack or anything over...this..."

Ok, now she was beyond mad. Sometimes Guin didn't know when to keep her mouth shut about something. A few flashes about leaving the lab came back to her, and she remembered something that might shut her up for once in her life. "Did you ever think it might have something to do with your emotions at all? Otherwise, how was Pietro able to kiss you after everyone got out of the lab. You think you have problems? Ha! Been there, done that. Most people in this building have, but you seem to think that the entire world revolves around you!" she shouted at her, before proceeding to cover her head with a pillow.

"That's scientifically inaccurate! The world revolves in an elliptical pattern with the sun's center of mass at one of the foci!" Guin spat back. "Tycho Brahe called, he wants you to take a fucking look at his data!" And of course, with all of the head trauma, she didn't even really remember Pietro kissing her. Everything was such a blur up until a few hours ago, when she had finally managed to open her eyes without seeing stars. "And if I seem that way, it's because that's how I was fucking raised! You try growing up with Tony fucking Stark as a role model! And hell, even granddad was just like this. Yeah, I'm an asshole. It's in the genes."

She had enough of this, she was fighting back tears now, and she couldn't stand being in the same room as Guin anymore. Her head was still pounding, but that didn't matter to her. "You know what, you live in your own little world, where your problems are the most important thing, but welcome to reality. Everyone else has problems too, and some of them are probably similar to yours. You think your the only one who has had freaking problems about stuff like this? I freaking hate you Guinevere Stark!" she shouted, tears falling down her face, before she got up and raced out of the room as fast as she could without the risk of collapsing.

"That makes two of us," Guin muttered. She threw her blanket over her head, creating a small little cocoon for herself. She closed her eyes tightly in an effort to stop her own tears from falling. After a few minutes had passed, she reached out from underneath the blankets and grabbed her phone. She was done staying in this place. She had run away at least three times a year until she was seventeen and the instinct to run from her problems was still strong. She pulled up the Uber app and scheduled one to come pick her up from the mansion. Where she'd go after that, she didn't care. She just wanted to hide from the world.

Marygold was sitting against the wall in the hallway, tears rolling down her face, when she heard a voice in her head. She looked up to see Professor Xavier sitting there in his wheelchair, looking at her. He already knew what had happened, he was a mind reader after all. He held out his hand to her, before they reentered the room together. She saw that Guin was hiding under the blankets, but she said nothing as Xavier gave her one look and she sat back down on the other bed. "Guinevere? We need to have a talk before you runaway from the Institute," Xavier said in a gentle voice, rolling over until he was right next to the side of the bed.

"Stay out of my head," Guin grumbled. She was completely engulfed by the blankets, peering at the app underneath them. Given that they were a bit out of the ways in Upstate New York, it'd be about twenty minutes until the Uber arrived to pick her up. When she had made the decision to run from her problems, she hadn't intended to have the world's most powerful psychic come in and try to play therapist. "Pretty sure that isn't part of the aftercare process for concussions," she then added. If they didn't leave her alone soon, at this point, she'd likely call Tony and tell him it was a life or death emergency. And god forbid Pietro showing up. She didn't want to see anyone at all.

Marygold just laid back, knowing what Xavier would probably do. It was something that he had done several times over the years for kids who had just discovered their abilities. He started to use his telepathy to soothe her, calm her down. It would be enough for them to be able to have a better conversation, and hopefully it would shut her up for a few minutes. "Trying to run from your problems, does not prevent them from being there. They always will stay with you, unless you try to face them".

"I'm sorry, you've reached the Life Model Decoy of Guinevere Stark," Guin muttered. While she was feeling calmer, that didn't mean she was willing to talk about this. Xavier's powers had taken her down from a seven to about a four - and she was still quite prickly at that level. "To leave a message...Go away," Guin then added. She felt uncomfortable with Xavier in her mind and she still felt panicked over the implications of her mutation.

"Guinevere, your powers are nothing to fear, and if you tell me about it, then maybe we can find the solution," Xavier replied, still calming her. Marygold was getting even more pissed off at Guin now. She was being a pain, and unlike half the people around, she had Xavier himself trying to talk about her abilities not long after they had manifested. She didn't meet Xavier until about 2 years after she had discovered her powers.

While she felt calm now, having fallen to about a two on the rage and anxiety scale, she still didn't feel inclined to talk to Professor Xavier. She respected him and everything he did, but was he someone to open up to emotionally? She had never been particularly good at that. Emotional honesty didn't come easy to her. It was part of the reason that her words had been so easy for Mary to misinterpret. As much as she could understand the principles of science and technology, she was a bit clueless when it came to matters like these.

But even Guin couldn't fight the mental influence of Professor X. "That's just it - there isn't one. This isn't a problem that needs to be fixed. It's a genetic mutation, a non expressed X-gene that became activated," Guin said calmly. "There's nothing wrong with mutation - it's necessary and beautiful. Yet this exposes me, like a nerve. If I switch, I have no control over my body. Anything can happen to it. And there's the potential that I will be stuck in the other body. As well as the fact that I cannot control this - that every time I touch a person, there's a chance that this swap will happen."

Well then, Mary hadn't expected Guin to get all technical with the guy who could write the book on genetic mutation. He didn't seem bother by it though, it was difficult to get him mad though. "You need to know, that there are others here at the institute who have been in you situation before," he replied, before nodding over at Marygold who looked away from them. "Usually, abilities, much like yours, activate during an emotional response, like anger. If you had tapped Marygold on the arm while you two were yelling at one another, you most likely would have switched. However, now, I do not believe you would," he said, pulling the blanket gently off of Guin, and grabbing her hand. Nothing was happening, the two of them weren't switching places or nothing.

"Yes, but that's because a psychic is actively meddling with my mind," Guin argued. She wanted her blanket back. Professor X may not have realized it, but the blanket cocoon had been relieving some of her anxiety. And now with it gone, that anxiety was starting to return, regardless of Professor X's current calming influence. Her phone buzzed - the Uber was about ten minutes out. And since she had forgotten that her Uber account was hooked up to Tony's account, she had also received a concerned text from Pepper.

"You may believe what you wish. Though if that was really the case, than how is it that one of my other students still cannot touch another human being?" he asked her, and Marygold looked up at him. She instantly knew who he was referring to. "You mean Rogue right?" she asked him, before glancing over at Guin. "Yes, she has not been able to touch another person since the day she discovered her abilities. Including making physical contact with me either. Your powers are not like her's Guinevere".

"You misunderstand me, Professor. Just ask Mary - I'm always emotional," Guin shot back. She was rarely ever in a zen like state of calm and from the information she had, that was what was required to keep her powers from activating. She had no intention of spending her entire life stoned just to stay in her own body. And she really wanted her blanket cocoon back. And to be left alone for a little while. She needed to process this - she needed data - she needed a whiteboard, model kits, and at least ten different scented dry erase markers. She needed an engine in front of her to fix, an NMR spectrum to analyze, a circuit to optimize. She needed a tangible task that would allow her to run away from this intangible problem.

"You may wear gloves on your hands, until you have better control of your abilities Guinevere. Let me help you, the Institute is here to help all mutants learn how to control their powers. You will not get stuck in someone else's body because from what I can tell, your abilities had a time limit for how long you stayed switch with Ms. Maximoff. You can only stay switched for a few minutes at a time, but should you work hard to learn to control them, you might be able to do it for longer periods of time," he replied, and Marygold just nodded. After a few months off working at it, most people's abilities seemed to die down, at least in the number of accidents that they caused relating to them. It took longer in order to thoroughly try and gain mastery over them, but after a year, most people were able to control their abilities fairly well.

For once in her life, something actually managed to shut Guin up. She hadn't even considered the fact that she now technically qualified to be a part of the Institute. She had made a commitment to S.H.I.E.L.D. already - she was going on an accelerated track in order to qualify for the Science and Technology Academy. And before she joined S.H.I.E.L.D., she had always assumed that she would end up working at Stark Industries. It was customary at this point in her family lineage. Joining the X-Men hadn't even occurred to her. Of course, she still didn't imagine ever wanting to stay switched with someone. She didn't like the idea of someone else in her body. It felt too dangerous. "But...What about S.H.I.E.L.D...and school?"

"Guin, your close to finishing up your degree anyway, and SHIELD probably wouldn't mind too much. Besides, you could probably finish your degree with Hank anyway. Hey Professor, weren't you thinking of maybe adding college course to the school curriculum at some point anyway?" Marygold said, having finally calmed down, "Also, you could just go to school here to learn how to control your powers, that is always an option. Not every student is actually part of the team".

"That is true. You do not have to commit to anything Ms. Stark, and you do not have to change anything about your life if you don't want to. Though, Marygold is correct, I was thinking of eventually opening up college courses for the older students who chose to stay at the school."

Mary was right - she was only really in school as a formality. She had gone to a prestigious boarding school that specialized in STEM until junior year of high school, and already, she was earning college credits. At Midtown Science and Tech, she only spent about half of her day there. The rest of the time she was either working on one of the various R&D levels at Stark Towers or taking college courses through NYU. She had even spent a summer at MIT. It was the reason why she had entered college as a senior. "I don't play well with others," Guin finally said. "But as long as the codename isn't awful...Fine."

Marygold couldn't help but let out a laugh, and gave her a smile. "Generally you get to choose your name, or whatever. You can change it later on if you want to or whatever if you don't like it. Like Jean, before just sticking with her name was originally called Marvel Girl," she said, before looking at the Professor. He was quiet for a moment, before speaking again. "So, are you going to stay at the Institute? You might want to figure out what to do with the car you called for," he said, before backing up, and rolling out of the room.

Guin snorted. "That's the worst codename I've ever heard." She neither confirmed nor denied to the professor that she'd stay at the Institute. She had already answered that question as far as she was concerned. As for the car, she simply hit the cancel button on the screen. She didn't care if her Uber customer rating went down. Once Professor X left the room, she debated whether or not to apologize to Marygold. But she figured that she'd likely mess it up and start another fight. Instead, she grabbed her blanket and returned back into her cocoon. This time, however, she let her head peak out.

"I know right? You wanna talk about bad names? There was one person whose code-name was Strong Guy, no joke! I honestly have been thinking of changing my code-name at some point, but I'm terrible at coming up with things," Marygold replied with a laugh. This was better, the two of them weren't arguing or shouting anymore, which was always a nice thing.

"Yours is what...Green Bloom?" Guin asked, with an eyebrow arched. "I've always wanted to say this, but it almost sounds like a Powerpuff Girl's name. Which I suppose makes you Blossom, then," Guin teased. She had calmed down some and sent a quick text off to Pepper, sending her the specs for something she needed JARVIS to get done instantly. Of course, Pepper was sending her back a barrage of questions, but at least it was in the works.

"Hey, I was 16 years old, and hadn't seen any of the major fighting or anything yet, cut me some slack here. I was pretty happy-go-lucky before my first encounter with the Brotherhood and I began to see just how screwed up the world could be," she said, looking over at her friend. This was definitely an interesting conversation to say the least.

"Nope, no slack," Guin replied with a snicker. "If Pietro Maximoff can come up with a better codename than you, that's saying something. I'd suggest Poison Ivy but that's copyrighted," Guin then added. It may have been a side effect of the concussion or Xavier's mind meddling, but she couldn't think of a better name to suggest to Mary. The only thing that came to mind was Plant Lady. "Ooh...What about Green Dryad?"

"Um... How about I just drop the color and go by Bloom until we can come up with something better," she replied, giving her a smile. "So, what code-name do you think you'll go with? Are you going to stick with Starkette or choose something different?" Guin already had a nickname, and she didn't know if she wanted to stick with it. The name Starkette was the name everyone knew her by before they found out who her dad was, so it made her curious.

Guin shook her head slightly, though she instantly regretted the motion. She had gone by Starkette for one simple reason - S.H.I.E.L.D. wanted her to use a codename and they thought it would be best to pick one she'd already respond to. Starkette had been her gamer handle for almost her entire life. "Nah. I think something different would be for the best - Starkette's what I first started playing games under. But as to what my codename would be...Haven't got a fucking clue."

"Hmm... It would probably be easier to come up with one if you had full on psychic powers, as opposed to just mind switching or whatever. Let me think... How about Master Mentalist, or Neuroia? Those aren't the best, but maybe they'll give you some ideas," she said, trying to think of a few other things that might work. Coming up with a name wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do.

"Yeah, a lot of things would be easier..." Guin mumbled under her breath. Unless she wanted to go by Freaky Friday, there really wasn't much in the way of suitable codenames. There were a few other obvious ones, but they all made her cringe. Master Mentalist sounded like an advertisement for an old circus act. Neuroia had the obvious connotations with neurons. But as much as she liked the idea of it having to do with her powers, she had made the mistake before in life of allowing some small part of her to define her entire identity. She sighed slightly. Usually she didn't have this much trouble coming up with nicknames and codenames.

At least she was remaining relatively calm for the meantime. "But given that we don't even know really what I can do, besides fuck with Scarlet Witch...I'll use Catalyst for now." It was science-y and it was simple. "Or maybe Star, then the world really can revolve around me."

She rolled her eyes, but bit her tongue, preventing her from saying anything about that last comment. The last thing she wanted was for them to have another argument or whatever because of someone's poor word choice. "Well, whatever. How much do you wanna bet that the Professor told your dad that you're awake?" she asked, grinning.

"Fuck, he's still here?" Guin groaned. She closed her eyes for a moment. "Do you think I'll get yelled at? I'm probably getting yelled at. Maybe I shouldn't have canceled that Uber after all..."

"Have fun with that," she said, as voices could be heard from the hallway. Marygold couldn't help but smile as they grew closer, and her friend's reaction to hearing that Stark was still hanging around. A moment later, the door popped open, and in came Tony Stark, who seemed to be having an argument about something with Pietro who was right behind him. There was one thing for sure, she did not envy Guin.

The time since the incident at the Brotherhood Lab in New York has not be the kindest. The world is changing, and people continue to live in fear of the mutant population. Though, the first few weeks after the battle are hard on all those who live at the mansion. Oshea Jackson had died to stop the virus, and his funeral was attended by many of the students at the school. Though their time to deal with this was short, as the next battle was making an appearance.

Xavier had been called to testify at several hearings for Congress over the past year, speaking on behalf of many in the mutant population. His words were heard by many, but fell on deaf ears with others. With OMEN gaining more power due to what many are calling The Mutant Menace, there is never a moment when a news station doesn't make a mention of it.

The Mutant Registration Act (MRA) is now making its way through the government, and Xavier is working to help find a more plausible solution, but nothing seems to be working. The public is starting to lean towards OMEN's point of view, causing one of their top agents to be in the lead in polls for the Presidency. Alexander Jakobsen is not someone you want to be running the country. He is just as dangerous as the entire organization alone, and he holds a grudge against any non-humans because of the attack on OMEN almost 4 years before.

He came out a hero, and now people want him running the country. The few people who are pro-mutant are rallying against him, and Xavier has been working with them. They only have a few weeks to get in a possible solution before things get any worse.

If only they knew what was going to happen, on the 6th of June, in the year 2020.

@Zora Earlier in the morning, Amni recieved a call from Professor Charles Xavier, requesting him to go to the mansion as there was something urgent that he needed to discuss with him. Amni could probably guess as to what, the whole thing about the MRA was all over the news, and it was something that would effect him too if the bill passed.

@FantasyChic@jdh97 Well, William and Sara, having not been at the mansion very long, were introduced very quickly in the way of teamwork combat. Unfortunately for them, that meant a Danger Room session with Wolverine. His idea of training was tossing you into the deep end of the swimming pool and hope you learn how to swim. The two of you were with Bobby, Kitty, Jubilee and Rahne. The session is over, but the 6 of you are exhausted. Any sort of lesson with Wolverine was never very fun, or easy.

Mira was in her room, messing around with her computer. She was working on trying to get it to work quicker, but was having problems with the systems. After a few moments, she gave up, deciding that the computer system was already as fast as it could go, for the moment anyway. She sat back, contemplating what to do now. She had spent the better part of an hour working on this project, and now was back to nothing.

After a moment, she walked out of her room, and nearly had Pietro Maximoff run into her. "Oh, sorry bout that Mira. Gotta run to the lab, see ya," he said, before racing off again. That sort of thing was to be expected when you lived in the same house as a speedster. She didn't even have a chance to get a word out before he raced off again. He could be so annoying.

She headed out to the main common area, and saw that once again, the TV had been switched to the news. That's all it ever was on nowadays, so she sat down in a chair, to watch the broadcast. "Today, Presidential Candidate Alexander Jakobsen was seen at a rally, where one of the main questions he was asked by supporters was "What are your thoughts on the MRA?" Jakobsen responded saying that he wanted to prevent more tragedies, so that no one had to go through what he did over 3 years ago. This is a common response from him, and many try to get him to shed more light on the subject, however he never reveals the details behind the attack on the organization OMEN's headquarters in Washington DC".

Marygold Isley

Location: Xavier's Institute

Marygold was out in the garden, tending to the flowers there. She had always loved plants, and it helped that she could use her power to bring plants on the brink of death back to life. As she worked, she thought about everything that had happened in the past year. The world was going crazy, and they weren't able to do much about it, and that made her mad. She wished that she could fix things, but she saw how well trying to help went back at both the Power Plant and the Lab. They had blown up one building, and lost someone in the other. It had taken a while, but everything had come flooding back, and she had a small breakdown, away from everyone else.

It was her fault, she had them go into the power plant without a concrete plan, and she had chosen to switch the teams up at the last minute. Oshea would have been safe had he gone down onto the lower levels, but no, she just had to decide that she should go down below, and he would join the team on the higher floors. Everything that had happened was her fault, and nothing could change that.

Marygold was starting to doubt her abilities to be a leader for the team, and started thinking of maybe stepping down. The thought had occurred to her over the past year, but she couldn't think of anyone who could take her place. Was this how Cyclops felt so many times before? she thought to herself, as she looked up just in time to see a car she didn't recognize pull up the driveway. She pushed all of the thoughts about the situation out of her mind as she wiped her dirt covered hands off and walking up to greet them. Xavier had mentioned that they were getting a new student, some friend of Guin's.

She saw the boy, and thought he looked a little nervous. Giving him a smile, she held out her hand to him. "Hey there, I'm Marygold Isley, you must be Lance. You look like your looking for someone?" she asked him, looking directly in his eyes.

"Uh, yeah, um... I wanted to see someone before I went to talk to Professor Xavier, do you know where I can find Guinevere Stark?" he asked, his voice a little on the quiet side, she almost had to lean forward to hear him. "Oh, Guin? She should be down in the lab," she replied as she gave him quick directions. He walked off, and she couldn't help but smile. He seemed like a nice kid to her, and with that, she went back out to the garden, and back to the thoughts that were going through her mind.

Lance Banner

Location: Xavier's Institute

Lance wasn't really too thrilled about going to Xavier's Institute, but it was either that or sit around with the Avengers forever. His things had already been moved into his new room there, and all that was left was for him to make the drive up there. It might not be too bad, on the bright side it got him away from his father and his issues. Now he might be able to focus on other things.

When he pulled up to the mansion, he was surprised at how big it was. It looked more like a castle as opposed to a mansion, or a school. The building didn't look old and dreary either, at least from his point of view. That was going to be his new home, and probably a good thing. His powers did go a bit out of whack sometimes, and he needed help in order to fix that. He had one thing he wanted to do before he went to talk to the Professor, and that was to see Guin. It had been a while since he had talked to his friend, and that was high on his list of priorities.

He no sooner had gotten inside, when a girl with red hair approached him. She introduced herself as Marygold, and seemed to know who he was already. Did she ask Xavier or something? There was no time, as he responded to her question, and his voice was shaky. He had always had problems talking to people he didn't know well. She gave him directions to where the lab was, and he thanked her before walking away. He headed down towards the lab, to see if he could find Guin or not.

Guin had spent the night in the lab, working on finishing up a software package for P.H.I.L. Her A.I. only knew how to translate various dialects of Chinese, as well as most western European languages. In her opinion, it was a gaping hole in P.H.I.L.'s capabilities and something that needed to be remedied. It had taken her all night to get the dictionary settings uploaded, as well as grammatical structures. A few empty cans of Monster were next to her computer on her desk and Guin tapped a key, finishing the sync between P.H.I.L. and her computer.

She put on her glasses, noticing the computer readout, and quickly typed in a phrase on her computer for P.H.I.L. to translate. A moment later, a phonetic pronunciation of her translated sentence appeared on the lenses of her glasses and she grinned a little wickedly. It was time to trick Pietro into thinking she could speak Serbian. All she had to do was discretely type the sentence she wanted to say in English on her computer and the translation would appear for her to read on the lenses.

"1Pietro mi treba tvoja pomoć!" Guin called out. She knew that he was around the mansion somewhere and that he'd likely show up in a second or two. He was a speedster, after all.

Pietro, after having ran into Mira on his way down, made his way to the lab. He heard Guin as he got closer, and was surprised by what she had said, but he shook his head. Knowing Guin, she was using a computer or something. "2Čekaj, da li Phil ima reči na sočivima ili tako nešto i tako govoriš to? Oh dobro, dođi ovamo i pomoći ću ti." he responded, giving her a smile.

Guin made a face at Pietro, having read the provided translation by P.H.I.L. She hadn't tried to trick him like this before, had she? No, she would have remembered pretending to speak another language. It had been a brilliant idea she came up with around 1 AM - on par with other ideas of hers. One of her favorites had in fact inspired her outfit that day. She was dressed in Pietro's Pink Floyd t-shirt and his leather jacket (the skinny jeans were her own, as were the combat boots). She quickly typed out As if. I went to a fancy ass boarding school. We learned Serbian and P.H.I.L. displayed the translation of the blatant lie on the lenses.

"3Lepa gimnastička škola gde je došao srpski narod i razgovarao sa nama, bili su ludi."

It took him a moment to realize that she had taken his clothes, but he was somewhat used to it by now. He was more concerned with WHAT SHE HAD SAID! Pietro gave her a weird look, and it was obvious that something was wrong, and she didn't know that she hadn't said what she probably thought she said. He shook his head, deciding to keep playing along for a little while. "4Da, u redu, hej Phil, tvoj propast u toj užasnoj situaciji. Pretpostavljam da nemate pojma šta ste upravo rekli?"

Guin was used to Pietro giving her weird looks. After the chaos and the fighting against the Brotherhood had calmed down, they ended up running into a series of cultural barriers that neither of them had previously considered. Some of these barriers, as it later turned out, weren't actually cultural - and just a product of the unorthodox upbringings they both had. Pietro had grown up in a different country, eventually working for the Brotherhood for five years - and Guin's father was Tony Stark. They were both bound to be a little weird.

She decided that the best approach would be to double down. The translations of what Pietro was saying seemed to be fine, anyways. Guin quickly typed in her reply - I know exactly what I said. Now come over here and help me already, Silver Balls. "5Znam tačno šta da radim. Zabavno vrijeme kod obale jezera gdje se ubijamo jedni druge uz živahne kugle." P.H.I.L. then activated his voice simulator, attempting to apologize to Pietro.

"6Želeo bih da te ubijem mister testisa."

Now, he was starting to get a little freaked out, his jaw dropping. They both said something about possibly killing him. So, either Guin was really pissed off at him or, the more likely one he hoped, something was wrong with PHIL. "7Uh, mislim da bi Phil mogao slomiti Guina. Bez uvrede čoveka, ali ime je Srebrna kugla, a ne Mister Testicles."

P.H.I.L. then attempted to apologize to Pietro yet again, as well as inform Guin that there was an error in the translation program she had just installed. "8Još uvek želim da te ubijem Mister testisa. Gospođo Stark, verujem da možda želite da koristite čekić." Guin groaned at Pietro's response, pulling off the glasses and setting them down on the table.

"Fuck? Is he? Damn it - I spent all night working on that code," Guin said, huffing slightly. She crossed her arms, practically pouting, and a bit of hair ended up in her face. She blew on it, too annoyed to use her hands to remove it, and it simply went up and then fell squarely on her nose. This just wasn't her morning, apparently.

He did not know how to respond. That computer program was crazy! The P in PHIL didn't stand for prototype, it stood for PSYCHOPATH. He was starting to fear for his life on this one, and the fact that it took until now for her to realize that there was something up was a little sad in his opinion.

Guin plugged a small chord into the glasses, quickly pulling up the source code for P.H.I.L. Hopefully, it would be a simple matter of rebooting P.H.I.L. Otherwise, she'd need to dig through all of the code she had done and see if any of it had corrupted his personality matrix. From the way Pietro was acting, it was as if she had invented a murder bot - not that it would have been unusual for someone in her family. Once P.H.I.L.'s reboot cycle finished, Guin unplugged the glasses and then put them back on, typing in her test message to see if the bugs had worked themselves out.

How about now? Is the translation working, Silver Balls? If this message makes sense, kiss me. "9A sada? Gde ga udarim? Srebrni testisi, dođi ovamo da te udarim," Guin said with a bit of a wink.

He gave her another strange look, before backing away slightly. "Uh, no thanks, I'm good," he said, his voice a little shaky. She was scaring him a little, and clearly PHIL was mental still, and she had done nothing to fix him.

Guin sighed and took off her glasses, feeling a little hurt. Clearly, there was something either going on with Pietro or P.H.I.L. was still on the fritz. "Fine. I admit it. I don't speak Serbian. I speak English - sometimes - and math," Guin said, rubbing her eyes. She set the glasses down on the table, thinking about doing a full system wipe of P.H.I.L. and starting over from scratch. Maybe Gen II just wasn't meant to be. And of course, as hard as it was to add additional programing to artificial intelligence, she couldn't help but feel a little bit like a failure. She tried to make her A.I. be a better translator and instead, she was scaring her boyfriend apparently.

Pietro looked at her with a grin. "Yeah, I thought so. You would have been a better liar if you didn't have PHIL translating. With him translating I started fearing for my life." he replied.

Guin nodded for a moment before picking up her glasses and holding them out to Pietro. “You can get revenge on him if you want - stupid A.I.,” Guin grumbled. She was used to having everything come easily to her and it was clear she was more than a little bit frustrated with the program. In the back of her mind, she was reflecting on the code and trying to figure out how an error like they could have happened. “I couldn’t even flirt with you properly.”

"Yeah, do you really want to hear some of the things you said? Because I can guarantee you that you weren't saying what you thought you were saying," he said, shrugging his shoulders at her trying to fix the thing.

"I'd rather make out, but sure. I was up all night trying to revamp his language programming. Eastern European languages are always trickier to debug." Guin smiled slightly. It would be one way to take her mind off of things, kissing. While her mind was normally whizzing all over the place, as cliche as it was, she could always focus on him.

""So, PHIL lastly said "I still want to kill you Mister testicles. Miss Stark, I believe you might want to use a hammer" then you said "How about now? Where do I hit him? Silver testicles, get over here so I can hit you." Not to mention all of the other things you said, one about us killing each other by the lake with bouncy balls. That AI is psychotic."

Guin groaned, her cheeks flushing as she realized the things her A.I. had been saying to her boyfriend. It hadn't been anything even remotely close to the sentences that she had requested P.H.I.L. to translate for her. She glanced at the computerized glasses for a moment, debating with herself whether or not P.H.I.L. wanted her to die alone. She felt certain that this had to be an error in the personality matrix - it was either that or a protocol had been installed that she was unaware of. For a moment, she wondered whether this was a subtle attempt on her father's part to break her and Pietro up. He was the only one who would have had access to her A.I. and be able to implant the correct protocol so that way she wouldn't notice it. "Silver Testicles? Really, P.H.I.L.? That's gross - and a knock off of a waaay better name... Alright, sounds like I need to reboot his personality matrix. Well, wipe it and restore him to the original settings. Probably some sort of bug in the Serbian translation programming." She didn't mention her other thought to Pietro. As much as Pietro and her father fought, she really did want them to get along.

He let out a small laugh at her response to what PHIL had been having her call him. "Now, the first thing you said about boarding school or something? Well, what you actually said, didn't make me fear for my life, it just made me laugh. "Fancy dumb boarding school where Serbian people came and spoke to us, they were crazy." Everything you said was just weird at the beginning, but it slowly made its way to death threats."

"That's just fucking fantastic - guess I can add murderbot creator to the resume then," Guin quipped. "But that boarding school thing isn't entirely wrong - those places are dumb. Never send your kids to boarding school, Pietro. It just breeds loneliness, resentment, and egos....But is this a no to making out then?"

He continued to grin, before replying. "I don't know, it depends. Are you planning on hitting me over the head with a hammer like PHIL suggested?"

Guin rolled her eyes. If the bug really had been her father's design, she'd find out soon enough. J.A.R.V.I.S. was a terrible liar. "Not at the moment, no - and besides, the first time we met, I kneed you in the family jewels - and I'm pretty sure you let me, since you can move faster than my mind can even process images," Guin pointed out. She shifted slightly in her seat, putting her feet up against the deck, her knees bent slightly. She hadn't taken Pietro's jacket off either - though it was really her jacket at this point. Finders keepers, right?

He continued to smile. "Alright then, just wanted to make sure. Don't want to have to worry about you or you psychotic computer AI," he said, walking over towards her now.

Guin nodded, plugging a cable into the glasses and quickly typing a chain of commands into the command prompt. It wouldn't be too long a process to restore P.H.I.L. to the condition he had been in before this bug reared its head. And if the pattern of behavior happened again, then she'd know that her A.I. had been tampered with. And Tony would have to give her one hell of an explanation. "Mm, you should probably worry about me - but more over whether or not I drink myself to an early grave. Or start building metal suits to fight crime in," Guin teased. "Beast won't be back for a while, by the way~"

He let out another laugh, "Well, you do have a point with that one. You still can't outdrink me no matter how hard you try though." he thought for a moment, before speaking again, his voice flowing fluently in his native language. "Hej Guina, ako želiš da naučiš srpski jezik, mogao bih samo da te naučim da znaš."

Guin raised an eyebrow at Pietro and smirked. Rather than hearing that as it's scientifically impossible for you to outdrink me due to my accelerated metabolism, she interpreted it as a challenge. She had been attempting to find a specific compound that could be added to an alcoholic beverage that would allow Pietro to get drunk - without luck so far. But now she had even more motivation - she had to defend her self given title as the Heavy Weight Queen. "Gueen-ah? I'm guessing that's my name - it's kinda cute. But the rest of it...No idea what you just said, Silver Balls."

"Very perceptive of you, yes, that is your name. The rest of it? Well..." he said, hesitating slightly, before continuing. "I said, "Hey Guin, if you want to learn Serbian, I could just teach you you know.""

Guin tilted her head slightly at Pietro's hesitation. "Damn. Gotta admit it Pietro, you sound sexy," Guin said. But as to whether or not she truly wanted to learn Serbian? She had been programming P.H.I.L. in order to improve his capabilities - especially when it came to missions. She never even seriously considered learning the language for herself. Part of the prospect was frightening as well - as if it was the first step towards making a big commitment to Pietro. "You could. Mostly that's just to test PHIL's programming - eventually, I want him to be able to translate any language. And once I work out the bug, hopefully he won't be threatening bloody murder. But y'know - learning Serbian would be cool. I wouldn't mind it."

He gave her a nod,"Yeah, I'd hope that PHIL doesn't constantly want to kill people. "Alright then first lesson, try to guess what I'm saying. "Volim te Guinevere Stark. Nadam se da ćete popraviti taj kompjuter.""

Guin tapped her fingers on her knees as she thought for a moment. She had been able to pick out three words in that sentence - and two of them happened to be her name. She didn't have any clue with the rest of it. It wasn't like a romance language where she could follow the gist as long as she knew one of them. And the words, from what she could tell, didn't resemble any language she knew anyways. "Umm...Something Guinevere Stark. Something computer."

"Well, that wasn't too bad Guina," he said, grinning, he had finally come up with a nickname for her. Anyone else trying and it most likely wouldn't sound right. "What I said was: I love you Guinevere Stark. Hopefully you fix that psycho computer."

Guin blushed profusely. She actually had to blink back a bit of a tear. They had never actually said those words to one another - instead merely hinting at it and flirting with the idea of saying those three huge words. Even if she pretty much had known that Pietro loved her, this was indisputable proof of that. She hesitated for a moment, feeling the heat in her cheeks. "How do you say... 'I love you too, Pietro Maximoff. Now shut up and kiss me already!'?”

"I ja tebe volim, Pietro Makimoff. Sad ućuti i poljubi me već!" he replied fluently, still grinning.

"Right, um... I ya teba volim, Pietro Maximoff. Sad ukuti e polubi me vec. That was probably awful but really, if you don't kiss me now maybe the murder bot will come after you," Guin quipped. It was a lot easier to do the pronunciations with P.H.I.L. giving her a phonetic guide next to his translations. And of course, she couldn't help but giggle slightly, beaming widely at Pietro. She wouldn't have noticed if anyone else came into the lab at that moment.

He was still grinning as well, though her pronunciation could use some work. Clearly it was harder without the AI there helping her. "Actually, you were pretty close. Not too bad for not having PHIL there, we can work on it," he replied before he leaned in and kissed her.

Guin got out of her seat as Pietro kissed her, helping to make up for the height difference slightly but not completely. He was eight inches taller than she was - meaning that logistically speaking, he had to lean and she had to stand on her toes just a little bit to make it work. "Can we cuddle and watch Avatar the Last Airbender while we do that?" Guin asked in between kisses. Pietro's hands were in her hair and her arms wrapped around him.

Pietro was too caught up to notice the footsteps coming up behind them. "Sure, why not," he replied, still smiling. The footsteps grew closer, before another voice called out. "Guin? Are you in here?", the voice said as Lance Banner walked into the room.

Guin froze for a moment as she heard Lance. Why the hell was he here? And what hadn't he told her that he was coming to X-Mansion? She very carefully and slowly pulled away from Pietro's kiss, like a small child who was caught with their hand in the cookie jar. She then dropped her arms that had been around the speedster and turned to see Lance, her face as bright as a freshly picked tomato. "Oh...um...Hey Lance!" Guin said, very much aware of Pietro's arm on her waist.

It was obvious to Lance that she hadn't noticed him walk in, especially since she had called him by his actual name as opposed to Lando. Pietro was just as surprised and let go of Guin. "Wait, whose Lance?" he asked before turning around to see him standing there. There was an awkward pause before Lance spoke again. "Um, I just got here, and I knew that you were here, so I asked someone where you were..." he said, looking between Guin and Pietro.

"That's Lance - he was my lab husband in high school," Guin explained, before realizing that Pietro wouldn't know what that meant. "Basically, he was my lab partner in all things - not like a boyfriend or anything like that. And Lance, this is Pietro - my boyfriend," Guin then said.

They looked at each other, with Pietro's gaze seeming like more of a challenge. Lance didn't really care, he held out his hand, and the two shook. "Uh, I'm Lance Banner, or Lance Calrissian. Depends on who you ask. I've heard about you from Mr. Stark." he said to Pietro as the looked at one another. "Wait, Banner, as in like the Hulk?' Pietro replied, looking him up and down.

"Yup, Lance's dad and my dad are super tight," Guin explained. "If Dad ever told me he was gay, I'm 100% certain his first move would be to ask Banner out. I've known Lando here for ages," she then turned her attention to Lance, not noticing the tension already developing between him and Pietro. "I hope Dad didn't tell you any bullshit about Pietro. You know how dramatic Dad can be - well, me too I guess..."

"He just told me a little about his dad, but you know I don't let that sort of thing cloud my judgement of people, Lance replied, glancing over at Guin. "Wait, so which is actually your last name? Banner or Calrissian? Or do you just use the Star Wars character last name just because you can?" Pietro asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. "My mother's maiden name, and the name that is n my birth certificate, is Calrissian. However, once people realized that my dad was Bruce Banner, everyone, including the teachers, started using that. Also, Guin, that thing about our parents is a little weird."

"It's 2020, man," Guin teased. She didn't care if Lance thought it was weird. Their parents were in a scientific bromance and she didn't see anything wrong with that. However, she couldn't help but smile as it seemed that Lance and Pietro would get along. "So what brings you to the institute, Lando?" Guin asked. She didn't know if he had just come by for a visit or if he was thinking about joining the team. She knew his opinion of the Avengers, but not of groups like the X-Men.

"Um... Well... I'm staying here at the institute, joining it really. Our parents were starting to annoy me a little bit, and I really wanted to learn more about my abilities, aside from self-teaching or something." he replied, looking down more at the ground now.

"Really? That's fucking fantastic. It'll be like when we were kids again, having sleepovers with Uncle Rhodey watching us," Guin gushed. "I've got a programming project I'm working on at the moment, but if you want, we can tinker around with something? Just like old times?"

"Maybe later, I was supposed to go check in with Professor Xavier, but I wanted to say hi to you first," he said, before walking towards the door. "See ya later Guin." After he had gone, Pietro let out a whistle. "Well... That was awkward."

Guin shrugged, before leaning her head against Pietro's upper arm. "He's just a little bit shy - but once you get to know him, you'll love him," Guin said, before lacing her fingers with Pietro's and clasping his hand. She couldn't help but be excited at the prospect of seeing Lance around more often. They had worked on the coolest experiments and designs together, since they were both heads and shoulders above the rest of the kids at MidTown Tech. Plus, Lance understood how it felt to have a parent that was an Avenger when no one else did.

"Right..." Pietro said, looking at her. She was so oblivious to everything that had just happened. Didn't she know that the guy liked her? He thought about telling her, but decided against it. He'd just have to see how it played out. "Anyway, what were we talking about before he showed up?"

"I believe we were making out," Guin mused, winking at Pietro once more.
