And again, even though she technically did see some of the first vision, as you wrote, it's only because Lotte did something apparently before Sonia's Portent was done, as in before she actually knew what would happen. I get it, it's also because KoL posted before me, but even then that just meant that Sonia's Portent didn't happen; Owldin never got orders from Sonia to tie a rope around the creature, which now can't happen because Lotte got the creature out of the water instead of Owldin.

Maybe. I do have an idea for a new spell, but it might not be any better. Basically it's a Divination spell that increases Sonia's perception and reaction time. This makes her much better in a fight and still lets her still be able to use it for recon. Still twice a day, thirty seconds duration.

That's the problem with precognition, it get's messy easy, unless events are scripted in someway. Not to say anything of hurting the interest in the story from both from both player and GM side.

Even when we know exactly what's going to happen, which isn't something humanly possible, considering that we are in a cooperative game, where you all have even more influence on the outcome of any situation than us, it still leads to paradoxes IC-wise.

Unless you are willing to compromise it to something more open ended that we can somehow use as a plot device if need be (which is how divination should rightfully be used), it'll be in both our interests that you don't use this kind of power anymore.

An example of how to minimize the problems with this is asking us what she'll see before making your post. This way we don't have to throw a whole post cycle to the waste bin like this time around. Otherwise, everyone is forced to wait two of Sonia's posts before doing anything, if they want to make use of her visions. This is far too slow and boring to do, leading to either the game getting stuck or falling into disarray, as you just saw.

PS: Just to be clear, the problem is not with you.

I like you as a player but it's obvious that Divination magic is a big problem to deal with for a GM. This is why D&D treats even the strongest of these spells as "as useful as the DM feels they should be" or why most DMs I ever played with, including when I used to DM, banned this kind of magic from player's repertoires.

It was a mistake of mine to let it slide because I consider you a good player. Interacting with time, in anyway, shape, or form, other then postcognition is clearly a power that shouldn't be in PC's hands.

I'd think under these circumstances it may be fitting to give Ryo some latitude to rework their CS if they wanted Sonia to have a new power set, within reason, since this was something of a mistake on GMs part to allow in the first place. Correct? Otherwise it would be a power lost for nothing and all after being approved in the first place via lapse in judgement.

I'd have posted today but my post would not be of good quality judging by other posts I've made today. I shall either wait for Sonia, or write on Thursday when I'll have less college work to do, whichever comes first.

Ok, people, given the current status of the RP, with many dropping and others slowing down severely, we are considering to put this on hiatus and try again at a less crowded time of the year.

We'll give the final verdict by tomorrow, but unless something really unexpected happens, this decision won't change.
