@Denduris@Sewer Rat@UltraCraftGames

Thank you for feedback guys.

Ideas for a campaign are in the works.

A new interest threat will be put up soon once I have few more ideas tacked together. At which point I'll notify you all to take a look so we can play what fits our group best. This will also be were see who is still interested, will have the time, and ability to keep up.

Being new is wonderful, my only requirements are that your willing to learn, willing to put in personal effort, and can keep up with a Cuasual level of role-playing.

I won't lie, by the end I'll probably have my cast down to five or six people.

I doe really want to learn and i usually put in some effort. But i can be a bit of a bad roleplayer but im improving on that quite a bit recently. So thanks for letting me try out D&D. Its pretty hard to find a game when you have no microphone and a really strong accent and living in a city where no ones interested in it and having the closest game store be a country away. So thanks.

I won't have any problems with keeping up, and I've got plenty of time to invest in learning the ropes for the 5E campaign, not to mention time for personal effort. I'm good to go when you are, chief.

This is more or less a general interest check on a few ideas.
Writing level would be Casual, to near one liners depending on situation. Might work in Discord depending on what people here like.

So, question time!

1. Discord or no for conversations that don't require a lot of extra writing between naritive?

I can manage discord or even a narrative writing if we're going to base it here since it can add more zest and mood into our story. (cause honestly I don't usually use discord)

2. Space and aliens sci-f, High Fantasy world wide adventure, or horror, death, and suspense?
Man I'm a huge fan of sci-fi and aliens. It might take time for creating one though since there are a lot of different sources out there.

3. Preferences of Combat, Exploration, Role-playing, Moral Dilimas, Puzzle/Traps, Crime, Murder Hoboing, Meta-Gameing, Power Gaming, Politics, and War/Nations. Just list your favorite 3 or 4, and maybe give me some insight as to why.

I wanted something that goes along the lines of cyberpunk campaigns that involves a lot of interactive NPC's. Some might not like this but I'm alright with it. I chose this kind since there are a lot of resources we can get inspirations from like Cyberpunk 2020 or Shadowrun.

4. How active do you like NPCs to be? Do you like having them in the party or at least strong enough to survive following the party, or do you prefer them to stay on the side lines so the PCs can enjoy all glory? Maybe a mix? Why?

I wouldn't want the NPC to tag along with the entire ride of our party, but it would be cool if the NPC can help us during hard times where it can guide us on the "right" path. Cause sometimes I understand if we get so far from fixing the main issue and ending up in a dark corner of the story. So an NPC that could give us bonus clues would be wonderful. Cause I would normally say this because as a DM I've noticed that PCs are more interactive if they feel like the DM cares about the players that are playing the world that he created and not just sticking to an NPC that he made just so he can play along with the PCs. Though it totally depends on how you handle it.

5. Bigger or smaller groups?

3-6 would be great. It gives us enough space to be attached to one another. Cause sometimes if it's a bigger group it's harder to cooperate with a lot of ideas bombarding the campaign. Or sometimes it could be the total opposite.

6. Homebrew cool?

Homebrew would be twice the fun.

I think that's all. If I run anything here it will all be original work. I might run a RWBY setting if convinced.

Kind of a joke setting but what if we play as dragons reincarnated as englishmen in the 1900s and the villains are beholders reincarnated as englishmen in the 1900s

@trecklerzzz

Thank you. I'm going to be blending a few themes most likely. Although with this level of interest I might break down and run more than one idea. Will depend on how much time I have.

@UltraCraftGames

Part of me loves this. I dont see it happening, but I love it.

Probably way too late for this but screw it I'm still eager to get into some DnD

1. Discord or no for conversations that don't require a lot of extra writing between naritive?
Love using discord for communication- Interacting with people on their chatting about an RP is part of the experience to me at this point.

2. Space and aliens sci-f, High Fantasy world wide adventure, or horror, death, and suspense?
I'm very much in favor of a high fantasy setting, I don't mind death and such although I prefer focusing more on character interaction as opposed to trying make a character who will survive and pushing interaction slightly to one side

3. Preferences of Combat, Exploration, Role-playing, Moral Dilimas, Puzzle/Traps, Crime, Murder Hoboing, Meta-Gameing, Power Gaming, Politics, and War/Nations. Just list your favorite 3 or 4, and maybe give me some insight as to why
Combat- always nice to have to spice things up, Politics-I like the intrigue and the idea of characters having an impact on the world outside of 'they killed the dragon' and along with that War/Nation's sounds like fun. A more magical side to things sounds like a nice touch as well.

4. How active do you like NPCs to be? Do you like having them in the party or at least strong enough to survive following the party, or do you prefer them to stay on the side lines so the PCs can enjoy all glory? Maybe a mix? Why?

I think NPCs that can stand on par with your characters if not better can make things far more interesting, having a character who kicks your ass early on is going to develop and be more interesting than murdering him on the spot.

5. Bigger or smaller groups?
Bigger group sounds more fun but it could easily turn into a clusterfuck so er I'm sorta neutral on this.
6. Homebrew cool?
Homebrew cool.

No idea if I'm way too late for my opinion to count for much. If that's the case just ,er, pretend this reply doesn't exist

1. Discord or no for conversations that don't require a lot of extra writing between naritive?
You mean character banter, like in Dragon Age games? I think that sounds fun.

2. Space and aliens sci-fi, High Fantasy world wide adventure, or horror, death, and suspense?
I am biased to High Fantasy, but I can play with pretty much any of these, really.

- Role-Playing (If it's a role-playing game, then role-playing should be put in as an important factor. No point in putting in the smaller details like personalities and biography information otherwise)

- Exploration (Helps with world-building and may assist the characters with a future problem)

- Combat (can be used to progress the story in a very interesting way)

- Moral Dilemmas (Always shows how far a person would really go to keep their character in-character. Though, sometimes people can take it too seriously. Seriously, my friend was getting upset at me for having my Evil character attempt to kill an NPC.)

4. How active do you like NPCs to be? Do you like having them in the party or at least strong enough to survive following the party, or do you prefer them to stay on the side lines so the PCs can enjoy all glory? Maybe a mix? Why?
Depends on the NPC. If they're priests or politicians with no way of fighting on their own, then keep them out of the way, or have them try to help from the sidelines. If they're warriors or people who can fight on their own, then by all means have them in the fray.

5. Bigger or smaller groups?
I honestly don't care. The only thing you should be worried about for either is the fact that there may be people taking forever to post.

6. Homebrew cool?
I think that's fine. my first ever D&D campaign was almost completely Homebrew...My throwaway mercenary character ended up becoming an alternate universe's guardian Gigas by killing and accidentally absorbing the previous one...I like Homebrew stuff, okay?

Hey, hopefully there's some room left, I've been itching for a good tabletop rp. I've never played 5e but I've got a lot of experience playing and GM'ing for Pathfinder so I think I can pick it up quickly.

>1. Discord or no for conversations that don't require a lot of extra writing between naritive?
I've played both ways to great lengths and enjoyed each. I have no preference.

>2. Space and aliens sci-f, High Fantasy world wide adventure, or horror, death, and suspense?
High-fantasy will always be my favorite but I think that a setting and campaign that the GM is passionate about usually ends up better than one suited to the players' wants.

I'd definitely love to see creative challenges that depend on role-playing/acting, critical thinking, and tough mortal choices way more than inflated challenge ratings and dice throwing contests. I love building a strong character for combat as much as anyone else but having tough challenges outside of combat is where tabletop games can really shine, since there's no game engine to limit us.

>4. How active do you like NPCs to be? Do you like having them in the party or at least strong enough to survive following the party, or do you prefer them to stay on the side lines so the PCs can enjoy all glory? Maybe a mix? Why?
I know a lot of my answers so far have been "no preference / whatever you want" but I really do feel like playing in a world where things function the way the GM designed it to makes the experience live and breathe better. Most campaigns aren't super small in their settings, so a wide range of different NPC's would make the world more believable.

>5. Bigger or smaller groups?
Small groups give each player more time to take the spotlight and have their fun. If a lot of people are playing, then making multiple 3~4 player groups will run much better than one mega group. Letting these parties meet and interact will also be an interesting dynamic if it happens.

>6. Homebrew cool?
Talking from experience, there's a lot of work that needs to be done to make sure homebrewed content is fun and balanced. It's certainly a lot of fun when done right, but I've seen campaigns and playgroups fall apart because people either dont see eye-to-eye or the made up content is way too strong.

Alright, after a long fight I have the internet back. Woo!

So bumping for interest.

So after my 4 month hiatus from lack of reliable internet its time for my grand rebirth.

After viewing the surveys most of you guys seem to...

1. Be so so with Discord for OOC. This idea won't be scraped unless by popular vote of my cast. The campaign itself will also potentiality sway this.

2. Fantasy seems to be the overarching way to go for this community. Ill work on refining this after getting together a cast.

3. Heavy role playing. Seeing as this is on a role playing site I'm shocked. Really. I expected nothing but per number guys. XD

Combat, exploration, power gaming, and nation/world building came in as the next most important stuff. This is fine.

4. NPCs will be minor charters for the most part, but able to hold their own if required as required by plot. So legendary heroes can kick ass, noble prince/ss to rescued can't.

NPCs can join the party at the cast discretion and be helpful, but should never over shadow them as much as support them.

5. Really mixes reviews here. But I'm feeling a smaller group. 3 - 5 people.

6. Homebrew is a go. Trust nothing. Muhahahaha.
I Homebrew more or less 70% of my campaigns. I've gotten damn good at balancing stuff. So no worries.

If people want to play a homebrewed race and/or class I'm willing to work with you. But anything Homebrew is subject to DM discretion and changes. If it came from Dandiwiki expect me to nerf it with the fist of an angry god.

RWBY won't be happening.

That all said Im now going to start crafting a campaign for you guys. All still interested feel free to sign up. Id like for you to at the very least be able to post once a week. Even if its just a few lines to let us know your character has gone to sleep or is standing back to watch things unfold.

Once I have a few people we'll talk details about characters you might like to play, or settings you might like to explore.

I have plenty of ideas, but well get there.
