Yep, and if you want a very simple story to what the Myth did: Cloaked immediately upon Anubis arrival, gave the fight a thought, then warped into all of the battling starfighters with the cloak no longer enabled. The point being to defend the shuttle, as you said :).

Okay! I think I got everything. Those of you TL;DR'ing (I'd prefer you didn't, that post took two hours, and then I spent another hour editing it down to as short as I could), you should be able to get away with the hider and looking at your @mentions, if you have one.

@Burning Kitty
I know you said straight to the brig, but it's Palpatine. His well-honed reflexes and general Big Bad Guy nature means that there's got to be a fight scene. I'd feel guilty missing the opportunity, otherwise!

Eh, it's Star Trek. What would the franchise be without a transporter malfunction or ten :P

Palpatine channeled his anger, reaching out, making the Force obey him, making it tell him what the guards were going to do before they knew themselves.

So the Force can read computers? The guards are all holographic, they are a computer program.

...totally missed that! Interesting.

Hmm.

That changes the fight somewhat, but not completely. Palpatine still has an initial advantage; Luke can predict the shots of a training robot, so Palpatine should be able to predict incoming fire. Just not as well.

I'll edit my post.

Let's be honest, though, Palpatine is alone on an enemy ship. Barring the intervention of Anubis, it won't end well for him. Of course, it's debatable if Anubis' intervention will end well for Palpatine either.

Even if he is not slaughtered by holographic secrurity like the Jedi by the Clones during Order 66. Unless he makes to where another living person is, there is numerous ways to make him a non-threat. Some of which the Force could probably save him from.

For future reference, the only living things aboard the ship, Starfleet crew in my ship sheet, Dead Space guests, and reporters, maybe plants. The plants could be holographic.

@Queen Raidne in your post you never did mention how the triple attack from Prometheus worked out. It occurred moments before Prometheus Alpha attacked Palpatine's shuttle. Unless I missed it.

Secondly... And this is by impulse. I'm at work and don't have the ability to take time off to look something up. They have to shut down the EMH on voyager sometimes to make scientific calculations or otherwise need lots of processing power-

Are we even sure a ship can field an entire team of holographic security officers?

Given how the Goa'uld use plasma against each other, I'd imagine the shielding would be reasonably effective against it. The only established thing so far with regard to Goa'uld shielding is how concentrated the weapon's energy is. The more concentrated, the more effective.

So, it seems like their shielding is designed to counter energy weapons, what about hypervelocity kinetics, like railguns, while the darts my frigates use would be rather small (125mm diameter, probably a few inches long) they would be going very fast and so the kinetic energy would be very concentrated into a tiny area. Correct me if im wrong but it sounds like my railguns would punch through the shields with some ease, though might not do a ton of damage to the ship itself due to its size.

Blasters on the other hand im not sure, ill find an in game description and let you decide.

"Particle blasters operate on a similar principle as the railgun except they fire a magnetically contained ball of subatomic particles. No other turret class can match the sheer destructive power of particle blasters, but due to the rapid dispersion of the containment field, it also has the worst range of all turrets."

Like I said earlier in the thread or in the check, if I remember something I read about Star Trek online correctly they had holographic crews.

Voyager an Intrepid-class is an older ship class than the Prometheus-class. Like with most computers, they get more processing power in the newer models. Sure some extremely cheap computers are made with less processing power on purpose.

@Burning Kitty I'll be handling the Pyramid ships so I'll get to that in the next post, don't you worry.

@Sophrus Actually I would have said the contrary is true. While their shields can defend against their own weapons fairly effectively, said weapons aren't too powerful either. More powerful energy based weaponry has been seen to quickly deplete Goa'uld shields.
However kinetic and explosives weapons have proven even less effective than Goa'uld staff cannons against shields.

Blasters on the other hand sound like they would tend more towards an 'energy' based weapon. So I would think that might be more effective than pure kinetic weapons.

The energy vs kinetic topic is currently being discussed so nothing set in stone just yet.

I know the personal shields certain Goualds have used have had daggers thrown through them and injured the person inside.

@Burning Kitty That's due to their design. Goa'uld spaceship shields are designed to block everything coming at them, whereas personal shields you need to walk around unencumbered. Which is why things moving slowly, or fast blades with a fine point can pierce through. As the shields aren't as strong, you could also just orbitally bombard them.

I don't know about holographic crews but Memory Alpha points out that Prometheus Class ships in Star Trek Online lack the "multi vector assault mode." Th star trek wiki sites do acknowledge that the ships have holoemitters through out the ship, it does however specifically mention that they are so the EMH mark II has full access to the ship instead of being restricted to the sickbay.

I definitely had total confidence in this RP's ability to leave the runway. I'm a very self-confident lady.
RP's are like ordering your favorite food. Every once in a while, it's more fun to be pleasantly surprised.
