TBH, I don't see how it would have fit into the MCU without them pulling a Ragnarok and just throwing all of the previously established stuff into the bin. The Amazing movies leaned a lot more heavily on drama and relationship stuff, which doesn't really gel with the MCU's more jokey "hey, this stuff is cool, but only dorks and try-hards would take it seriously" mentality. If they did keep that version of Spider-Man, though, I would have liked to have seen him be less Iron Man Jr. and more a bridge between the Avengers and the Defenders, have Daredevil and company show up instead of Tony Stark swooping in pretending to be his new dad.

I think due to his age we wouldn't have gotten Iron Man Jr. very much. Do you have any tasty Andy theories on how it would've gone down?

So, assuming they'd take the Ragnarok approach and throw out the style to make Spider-Gar fit into the MCU style:

-Spidey gets pretty much the same role in Civil War, with the exception that he's in college rather than high school. Pete's got his own suit, so he's not as dependent on Tony, but maybe they skip straight to the Iron-Spider stuff to solidify that.
-By the time he's in his own movie, he's "gotten over" Gwen the same way that everyone in the MCU seems to brush off their romantic interests leaving them. At best, she gets an off-handed mention when he's talking to Aunt May, or maybe when he's having a flirty scene with totally-not-Mary-Jane-wink-wink.
-Harry Osborn, now cured of his Goblin-ness, is working as sort of a reverse Nick Fury in the background to gather the Sinister Six, so he gets the post-credits sting recruiting this film's villain (let's go ahead and keep Vulture because he was great).
-Assuming Sony plays ball with Marvel and doesn't shoot themselves in the foot like they're doing now, Eddie Brock is introduced as the Bugle reporter Pete works with. No symbiote stuff until at least after Infinity War.

I'm already liking where this is going.

It's not what I'd do with it, TBH, but I figure it's more in-line with Feige's MO.

That whole soundtrack, though. My little brother and I were talking one time and the subject of "nu metal" came up and wanted to know what defined it. I just said that anyone who was on that soundtrack was nu metal.

Raise Your Rifles is far and away the best song on there.

Alright, so I had some stuff come up that set me back a few hours, but here it comes. Good news is, a few of you benefit from this in that I'm going to treat this as though it is still Monday. Bad news is, for a few others, it doesn't quite matter.

The Weekly Post Check! (As of 8/20/18)

Over The Limit (Past 14 Days)
@Hexaflexagon
@Inkarnate
@Nib
@GreenGrenade

I'm not going to remove any of you because two have been fairly active OOC-wise and two had a pretty suitable excuse, so it's not as if anyone dropped off the face of the planet. But I am going say that I'll need at least a post soon, because eventually there's gonna have to be a hammer to drop on this kinda thing and this is the last time that I can justify being lenient.

Plus, I like all of your characters and don't want the game to be lacking them.

12 Days (With 2 To Go)

11 Days (With 3 To Go)
@Star Lord

7 Days (With 7 To Go)

I am glad I'm not the only one past due. I will try to get one up tonight or tomorrow. School just started back up for me today, so that stole some of my time.

I'm not past due, but I did say I would post by Monday.
But I'm a dirty, filthy liar. So, instead, I'll try to post tomorrow. I may be lying about that, too.

John Constantine was in love. He’d never admit it to anyone, especially to himself, but how else could he explain the feeling he got when he was with Kit Ryan?

With a little over a month to go to the end of Season 1, how do you all feel about your Character's development and progress at this point? Are you accomplishing the story you've wanted to tell? Did you hope to be further along? What are some of the things you're looking forward to for next season that you didn't get to accomplish this season?

For me there's still a few key plot points I want to hit before the close of the season and the subsequent time jump but I am also far further ahead than I ever though I would be as I've posted more than three times and am still participating.

My biggest regrets for this season is that I didn't quite capitalize on world building as much as I could and my team ups all fell through, so I am hoping to interact with another player early on in Season 2 or potentially though the Season 1 Finale MME. Overall I'm quite happy with Thor and how his story has been going and look forward to continuing that story for the foreseeable future.

I'd say I'm pretty satisfied where I ended up. I didn't have any real ideas for Constantine when I decided to pick him up, so to manage to get thirty and counting posts and a few story arcs out of essentially writing wherever it took me was pretty affirming. I think I did a fair job world building in my own little part of the game and look forward to seeing what I can do with another character next season.

There's a lot that I put in my original character sheet that hasn't really made it into IC just yet-- I was planning on having Livewire, Parasite, Atomic Skull, and some of the other villains actually show up instead of just being mentioned on the side, but the Toyman arc sorta took on a life of its own and became a season-long thing. I mean, hell, even Lex Luthor's only been a side character so far. Part of that's due to me only doing roughly one post a week, but I honestly think what I've got in mind for his rogues' gallery will work better once Season 2 rolls around.

That said, I'm honestly pretty happy with how Supes has been shaping up. It's funny, since usually my favorite Superman stories to read and watch are the more somber and introspective stuff, all metafictional and doused with symbolism and allegories, but every time I've tried to write that sort of thing I end up burning out fast. I've had a lot more fun ignoring the more high-minded ideas and just having him punch robots and blush around pretty women. Is it the best work I've done? Ehhh, probably not. But it's certainly the most I've enjoyed writing in a very long time.

With season 2 I'm looking forward to bringing in more villains, making Luthor a more active threat, learning some more about Krypton, and hopefully doing some more team-ups. I guess I should figure out which version of the suit he's going to wear, too, once he graduates from his T-shirt phase.

Yeah, there's a lot of abandonedpostponed ideas in my CS that haven't come to fruition or changed somewhere between concept and realization. So it'll be nice to refresh the CS going into Season 2, but in terms of getting through antagonists, I've dabbled with two, and Loki's been moving around in the background so that's been fun. Plus Barbara was never supposed to have such a focal role so that was something of a surprise as she's easily my most developed NPC.

For me, there's really been a lot I intended to accomplish that I haven't gotten around to. Part of that it me joining late relative to a lot of you, but a lot of it is getting ready to go away to school soon and going on a "last hurrah" sorta thing with some friends that sucked away my time.

I originally intended Vig's arc this season to focus a lot more on his relationship with the Seven Soldiers, but I ultimately decided that going more intimate with what's happening with Vig would be the better way to to. Season Two will ideally see the reunion of the team and be a lot more about interpersonal relationships between them.

In terms of plot goals this season, I'm pretty short of the mark. Originally I wanted Vig to run through a gauntlet of ten villains, culminating in a showdown with The Hand himself. But what was supposed to be ten fleshed out villains turned into one and a half rushed ones close to seasons end, so the goal is now five with the showdown next season. To be fair to me, ten was a little high of a bar to set; I could probably do to manage my expectations better.

In terms of character goals, I definitely shot myself in the foot and didn't really think about Vig's character all too much. I had just kind of thought, "What plot elements would be cool?" and started thinking about The Council of Riders and the Ultimized Hand, Ultimized Dummy, etc., and who Vig was a person kind of got lost in all of that. A big goal for me in season two is to sit down and really think deeper about Vig as a character, explore what makes him tick, etc.

Anywho, I'll be back to my PC on Thursday and should have a post up then, starting to wrap up the thing I've got going on with Punisher.

EDIT: Shoutout to my phone for periodically correcting "Vig" to "Big".

I bitch talk enough about how lacking and incomplete my posts and storylines are as it is. So, I'll refrain from joining this particular discussion.
