@Fabricant451 but I favor one because it had no obvious agenda.

Yeah, the agenda that video games are bad was a bit heavy handed I agree.

@Fabricant451 Pft. Clearly you missed all the subtle nuances on display.

Besides, clearly you didn't pay attention. The whole point was your supposed to go outside and stop being a nerd.

I don't know if anyone's seen 3 idiots, but it's a great example of how to actually write a goddamn movie.

Hindi film production is jarring and exciting in all the right ways.

You say owns too much, it's starting to lose significance.

I want to go watch First Man, but the last time I watched a space movie that everyone said was amazing was gravity and I nearly fell asleep. Sandra Bullock was the first actress I ever crushed on and even I cant be entertained by her breathing heavy for 18 mins at a time.

Yes. Here's some more not kidding: the director(or producer I don't recall) saw the actress in a Dora the Explorer Halloween costume and cast her.

I'm curious to see what opinions people have towards content on Netflix (including Netflix originals). I feel like for every good movie or show on Netflix, there are ten bad/awful movies or shows. I've been trying to use Netflix more often since I hardly have a chance with everyone in my family watching it, but nearly everything I've watched has been mediocre and disappointing that I don't really see any point to watch something on it unless I need/want to kill some time.

Netflix was kind of a victim of its own success. Back when they just had stuff like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black it was all anyone was talking about and Netflix started being seen as an alternative to network programming and such. The Netflix logo stopped meaning instant success as they just started having more and more original programming and movies with less and less quality control. Every so often you get gems like American Vandal or The End of the Fucking World but then you also get like five different 13 Reasons Why. Netflix is pretty much the same as any other premium streaming service in that regard.

On the topic of Netflix.

So knowing the clusterfuck that was Iron Fists S2's second half/ending that was so universally loved it was cancelled. And enjoying The Punisher in spite of messages so blatantly beating me over the head and it's own lesser quality ending.

I'm not entirely sure I should even invest the time in the third season of Daredevil. My brother who is certainly no critic. (He really liked the Last Jedi. The closest thing to a critics paradise.) and would probably love the messages/propaganda in it. That the writers admitted to inserting the story before its release.

But my brother didn't like it at all. His explanation was quote:" Everyone loves it but it's really badly structured writing-wise." "The writers had no clue how to convey Matt's emotional state or what he's thinking, so they had him talking to ghosts all the damn time." "They also made Fisk way too damn smart. He's outsmarting them at every turn and !@#$. So the majority of the story is him outsmarting them completely and utterly. And then they beat him with....a viral video and then they punch him until he gives up. It's pretty as far as visuals, but it's terribly written."

Not exactly a stunning endorsement. But why take a single opinion at face value? And then I listen to somebody who seems to be giving the overall thumbs up. And which he sums it up with.

-Visuals are not on par with first two seasons
-Soundtrack is weaker.
-Fights aren't as impressive/make less sense for comic nerds that actually care.
-Shows obvious propaganda scenes/dialogue
-Notes that Fisk was too weak/failed too often in the first season, so they 'almost' overcorrected and made him the smartest character that never fails until the last minute.

From what I got out of it, basically it's "good" solely by performances holding it up like glue. And while I can totally believe that can save a show...

Certainly a pattern I'm noticing. Yeah, I'll probably just give it a pass...

@Hey Im Jordan I've yet to watch it myself (still making my way through the respective second seasons of JJ, LC, and IF), but from the trailers alone, it certainly seems promising.
