Drake “D” Edwards
&

Location: Student Lounge

"Yes, please" he said, his hands out, ready to accept the charity. As he held them up, they shook uncontrollably. The whites of Drake's eyes were looking far more pink and glassy than usual. "Need liquid, c-cold liquid," he managed to sputter. As time went on, he was considering abandoning etiquette and rules and just jumping into the kitchen and grabbing whatever he could, but he'd also rather not get a reputation for being that guy.

Aya's alarm only grew as he held out shaking hands. And she saw the glazed look in his eyes.

Is he... is he on something?

With fumbling fingers, Aya yanked open her wallet and grabbed a $5 bill. She pushed it into his hand but then jumped back with a gasp. His hands... they were like touching an open fire. The skin on Aya's fingers burned, stinging her. Aya looked down at them, then back up at the man.

Mutant.

Aya stumbled back another step, eyes widening.

Drake gripped the bill and, like a track star who just heard the starting gun, sprinted off toward the student lounge. There was a cashier to the left side of the open sitting area who was surrounded by snacks and food items. Beside her was a stand-up cooler with an assortment of drinks. When Drake's eyes fell upon this, his pupils widened. YES! He ran the rest of the way over there, apathetic about if he pushed over a chair or bumped a person's shoulder. He threw open the glass door of the cooler and grabbed the first thing he saw; a large container containing apple juice. Ferociously, he ripped off the top and dipped his head back, pouring the contents into his mouth, allowing it to spill out over his cheeks and chin as he chugged away. It was only seconds before the container was empty and Drake's clothes were soaked with the overflow.

With a long audible breath, Drake felt as though he were breathing out smoke. It was helping, but more was needed. He grabbed another bottle, this time it was a half gallon of milk. Again, he drank and partially bathed in it. and again, he sighed out forcefully in relief. He looked to the cashier and held out the 5 dollar bill. She didn't look like she was happy, but took the money anyway before calling for janitorial services to come to the lounge.

Stumbling, but calm, Drake found his way to an empty chair and sat, looking as though he had just finished a 72 hour workout marathon, breathing heavily and staring at the table top, trying to regain sanity.

"Hey! Aya started when he suddenly took off. Forgetting herself, she ran after him. By the time she'd reached the lounge, he was already soaking wet, guzzling liquid like his life depended on it. Aya could only stare as he drank, until he finally seemed satisfied and dropped into a chair like he hadn't just made a mess of the lounge.

Aya crept forward until she stood behind an empty chair at his table. She looked down at him silently for a moment before looking at the puddles on the floor, and the liquid pooling around him on the table. Her fingers still stung from where she'd touched him.

"I don't think five dollars quite covered that."

Drake looked up, nearly forgetting the last 3 minutes. "Huh? Oh, right," he said, looking back at the mess he created, a look of shame on his face. "Yeah," his fingers pinched the bridge of his nose and his eyes were squished shut. "I'm so sorry about that and.. and thank you," he said, looking at Aya once more. "This was... Can we pretend this didn't happen and start today over?" he asked, seemingly sincere in the request. He looked at himself, embarrassed, but feeling so much better than before. Eventually he glanced up again and continued, "A nightmare turned real." The comment wasn't much of an explanation, but it was the only one he had. "It's like I swallowed fire and it just kept-" Drake started waving his hands higher and higher, trying to illustrate flames growing bigger. "And then I forgot my wallet and.... cheezus." What a way to start the day.

Aya looked down at him, biting her lip. Then she pulled the chair out and sat down across from him. She curled her fingers into a fist in her lap.

"Yeah..." she said with a sigh. "Tuesdays are a bitch, aren't they?" She glanced up at him, fighting against the smile that tugged at her lips.

Drake huffed out a quiet laugh and ran his fingers though his wet beard. Gross, he thought to himself. "I suppose I ought to grab a shower," he said aloud, stating the obvious, "and get out of these." He pulled the collar of his tank top and let it snap back into place. "What are you doing this morning?"

Aya blinked at the light spray of liquid that snapped off of his shirt when he pulled at it.

"Just... getting ready for class," she answered, swiping at her cheek where a droplet had landed. "Fighting jet-lag." She paused, trying to find the nerve to say what she wanted to. "I'm sorry you had a nightmare." It hadn't seemed like a normal jolt-awake-in-a-sweat type of nightmare. His panicked eyes flashed through her mind again, the way he burned like a miniature sun. "We... don't have to talk about it. But if you wanted someone to..." Aya gave a shrug. His own words to her from last night played in her mind. It only felt right to give him the same offer he'd given her. "Y'know." Aya felt embarrassment begin to heat her skin as she heard her own insufficient words. She pushed herself up out of the chair. "But yes. I'm sure the janitors would appreciate it if you showered."

Drake gave a sideways smile, genuinely tickled by the comment. "You're right," he said as he stood up from his chair, "and thank you, again." He drew in a little closer, his face becoming more serious, yet soft. "I mean it." He then straightened up and began to walk off back toward the dorms. While he moved, he pulled off his soaking wet shirt and held the dripping wad of cloth in his right hand. "You're my hero, Aya!" he called back. Just before he turned the corner, he shot her a grin.

He continued walking down the hall, his head hanging as he watched his feet take each advancing step. Weirdest walk of shame ever, he thought, smelling of milk, sweat and applejuice.

Aya gave her own soft, smile when he thanked her, feeling less insecure about her words. When he started walking back towards the hall, she was careful to move aside so as not to get any of the odd mixture that he was coated in on her. Aya watched, amused as he left a trail of liquid behind him. Then he pulled off his shirt and shouted his parting words. Aya didn't hear them.

Oh.

Oh no.

Aya had never really worried about romance or dating. She'd never had the time or the energy, and the one time she'd come close -- well, the less said about that the better. But watching this man walk away, with his vibrant eyes, his soft words, and now his back --

His back was beautiful.

Aya felt a hot blush shoot up her neck to her cheeks. He smiled at her over her shoulder and Aya was frozen. All she could do was stand there, stunned, watching him walk away.

But oh, how she enjoyed the view.

Uná O’Brian

Location: School Library

Interaction: Fleur

Mentions: Isaac; Nathan @ShieldsOfWar & Nik @webboysurf

Uná looked up as Fleur entered the dance studio while Uná was working on a routine. Uná had her headphones in and was blaring “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Frankie Valli and stopped her routine when she saw Fleur sneer. Uná pulled out her headphones and went for her towel.

“You know Uná I don’t know why you bother. It’s not like your good at this.” Fleur was stretching in her white leotard her pointe shoes a pale pink like the gossamer skirt at her narrow hips. She made Uná, who wasn’t heavy in the slightest, look that way.

Uná rolled her eyes. “Ballet isn’t everything Twiggy.” Uná wiped off the sweat she had accumulated from going over the routine for the past hour. Fleur done stretching started out the classic ballerina I’m going to show off moves and Uná raised an eyebrow. “Are you serious Twiggy? Fine. I’ll dance circles around you.” Uná was decent in ballet but where she excelled in was in the more flashy jazzy soft shoe and Irish step. With the shoes Uná had on there was no way she was going en pointe. So she Irish stepped around Fleur.

"Crystal... Snow?"

As the morning sunrays pierced Khloe's blinds and directly onto her face she just turned over to face the wall so that it wouldn't go in her eye anymore. Though, since she was already half awake her body was telling her to get up even with all the crazy stuff that happened yesterday; she even overheard that a student got kicked out yesterday, she wasn't quite sure but she heard it while she was brushing her teeth and she didn't exactly know the people so she decided not to but in. She took a deep breath and was immediately snapped awake by the sudden Ding! of her phone. It was Ji-Eun, odd how she sent over a letter yesterday but started texting her today, Khloe would never understand that girl.

Khloe sat up and tasted her mouth and was disgusted by the morning taste in her mouth, she shook her head and scooched off the bed. She slipped on her slippers, patted her loose, black, sleeveless top and her white pajama pants that had bananas on it and made her walk to the desk. She picked up the pack of mints next to her phone and popped one in the mouth before reading the text message. " 제시! 다시 폭발하다 부산시! ^^ 'Jesse! Dasi pogbalhada Busan! ^^' (Jesse! Blast off back to Busan! ^^)" Ji-Eun texted, even referencing their younger days where they were Team Rocket from Pokémon.

As Khloe went to pick up her phone to reply, the moment her hands made contact with her phone, her phone froze over completely. Shocked, she took a step back and her feet were spreading the ice like wildfire. Her room was getting covered in Ice and it was from her doing and she couldn't even get rid of it. She stumbled to run to the door, but when she tried to leave the door froze over locking her inside. The room was now a mix of white and light blue. "씨발! 'Shi-Bal!' (Fuck!)" Khloe exclaimed as she rammed her shoulder repeatedly against the door so she could get out. " 이것은 영화 같다, Frozen. 'Igeos-eun yeonghwa gatda, Frozen' (This is like that movie, Frozen.) "

Khloe then started to repeatedly bang on the door yelling for help. The veins in her hands were glowing a bright blue and she didn't know why, then... Her hair started to turn a very snowy white, she was freaking out at this point, and began to bang on the door harder. The cold... Urr... Didn't bother her anyway, (I can't believe I typed that.) so she didn't have to worry about anything... Other than the fact that she couldn't get out, her hair was turning white, her hands were glowing, her room was frozen and she couldn't even text back to her best friend, okay maybe that last one isn't as important.

What a way to start a tuesday morning.

In through your nose, out through your mouth. In through your nose, out through your mouth Sally jogged around the track over and over, her music blaring in her ears and keeping her motivated. Her lungs burned. Her legs burned. God it felt good. Her skin was covered in a sheen of sweat, and loose strands of her hair stuck to her face. Behind her, her braid bounced back and forth. The sun had started coming up over the horizon. Today was going to be a good day. It just felt like it. She didn't know why, but it just felt like it. Suddenly stopping, Sally looked at the rising sun, her chest heaving. A cough pushed its way out from her chest, and she closed her eyes, turning her face skyward. Bringing it back down, she opened her eyes again and looked over towards the institute. Yep, she was done for this morning. Pulling her phone from the waistband of her shorts, Sally checked the time. 7:35. She had been out there for nearly an hour. Long enough.

With another cough, Sally started her trek back to the institute. As she walked, she thought about what she would do today. Perhaps go for a swim? Maybe go play around in the Danger Room? She didn't know, but she'd figure it out. There was lots to do here so…
She was so into her thoughts, that she had reached the building before she knew it, and walked inside, a little dance in her step now. Her feet carried her to her dorm, where she snatched up a few dollars from her wallet and tucked those too, into the waistband of her shorts. Turning, she left her room and dance-walked down the halls toward the cafeteria. Her mind flashed to Gunnar for a moment, remembering that she owed him a coffee date. Sally smiled and shook her head. Not right now. I'm not presentable enough for that.

With her mind all over the place, and her music playing, she seemed to be getting places rather quick. At least, that's how it felt, because she walked through the cafeteria doors moments later. With that dance still in her step, Sally made her way over to the fridge, her eyes scanning over the drinks available inside. There was someone in the way though, mopping up the area in front of the fridge. Curious. Without stopping, she continued her path, the person finishing just as she got there. Sally pulled one of her buds out, dropping it.

“Be careful there,” the man said to her, motioning to the freshly mopped area. Sally met the man's warm brown eyes. “Guy came in chugging drinks like he hadn't had one in weeks. Made a mess everywhere.” He shook his head as he walked off. Sally just smiled and looked back to the fridge. Her smile grew when she saw what she was looking for. Opening the door, she snatched an energy drink, then released the handle, letting the door shut on its own. She put the bud back in her ear, took the money from her waistband, and set it on the counter.

”Just keep the change,” she said with a smile as she turned and dance-walked her way back out of the cafeteria. Sally cracked open the can, and took a long, satisfying drink, signing after she pulled the can away from her lips. ”Because when I arrive, I-I'll bring the fire. Make you come alive. I can take you higher… Let it rock, let it rock, let it rock,” She sang as she walked through the halls, heading back to her dorm. Yeah, it was time to go relax at the pool. That thing she wanted to do yesterday, but didn't get to. With another long drink, Sally suddenly wondered where everyone was, and what they were doing. Guess she'd see them when she saw them.

Steam filled the air as the hot water ran over the back of Nathan’s head. His mind was running wild. A variety of emotions and sensations were making their way through him. At the forefront of them was fear. Fear was a constant. He wasn’t afraid of any one thing in general but rather he carried a general fear in any and all things…she had made sure of that. The image of the woman was burned in his mind like a brand. Always there. Always watching.

He slams his fist against the shower wall to break the thought, to exile her image to the back of his mind once again. He hated her, hated what she had done to him...what she had made him do. Things that not even Dr. Ashford knew about. Things that haunt not just his dreams but his fucking soul. She was a monster. Was he one as well? He forced himself to conjure positive thoughts, something beautiful...He thought of Uná. He thought of their kiss. A smile shockingly crossed his lips. This place was insane. The things that the students here could do was insane, logic defying even. His entire life was full of insanity at the moment but at least she was there. The thought of Uná calmed the storm in his mind and transferred it to his heart; causing butterflies to flutter in his gut.

Lily Murphy

Api meets Lily

Api was amused by Lily asking if he had a nice trip from Iceland and answered with It was a nice flight and my mother paid first class which improved the flight as she used a whisk on the eggs.

Then she asked his help even saying that he had a choice in ingredients.

”I’d love to help and as for the other ingredients I’d say yes because I’ve never had them and love to try new things” he answered as he took the knife and cheddar.

He’d never had what she was cooking though he had heard of it and even seen them in TV and movies so he was momentarily at a loss the proper size to cut till he remembered it must be melted in a folded egg. So he sliced the cheese in long strings hoping he was doing it all correctly.

”I do hope this is the correct cut” he asked exposing the results to Lily

Drake “D” Edwards

Location: Ashford Institute for the Gifted > Hallways Interactions/Mentions:@KatKook

Drake continued walking, staring at the ground as he went, trying not to make too much eye contact with passersby. He did hear mumblings and giggles from the other students as he made his way down the hall. It was to be expected, given his state. When he finally did look up, he sighed, realizing he was in the wrong hall. He was intending to go back to his room to get showered, but missed a turn. Once again, he found himself in the girls' dormitory. He glared up at the ceiling, looking defeated, silently cursing the powers that be for his misfortune before turning around. As he started walking, he heard several thuds against one of the closed doors.

Drake peered at it, a look of confusion forming on his face at he noticed the edges of the door had... frost. Several more thumps could be heard, succeeded by muffled cries. Drake moved closer toward the door, slowly and cautiously, and put his fingertips on it. Immediately, he retracted his hand and shook it. It was cold! Freezing, even. With a little more initiative, he placed his fingertips back on it and moved his ear closer to the iced-over doorway.

"Hello?" he called out, his mouth mere inches away from the thing. "Are you alright in there?" It wasn't really a habit of his to open other peoples' closed doors, but this seemed like the type of circumstance that called for it. He grabbed the knob and instantly felt that dry stickiness that came when one touches frozen metal. The skin of his palm, still being wet from the liquid cocktail from earlier, was instantly stuck. Deciding first thing's first, Drake attempted to turn the knob but had no success. When he tried to remove his hand, his skin stretched. If he forcefully pulled his hand off, he might leave some of that skin on the knob. Not something he wanted to do today.

Drake looked at his fingers that were wrapped about the metal and tried to focus. Fire was not as easy to summon in real life as it was in his dream, but he could feel the warmth beginning to flow from his pores all the same. His brows furrowed and he began to grind his teeth as he willed the fire forth. Steam began to rise from betwixt his fingers and he could feel the surface area of his skin becoming freed of the frozen adhesion. As the knob, too, began to warm, he tried turning it again, but the result was much the same.

"I've got an idea," he called out to the person on the other side, "but it might be a bad one." He released the knob, dropped his soaked shirt on the ground, and placed both palms flat against the door's surface. "Do you have an extinguisher in there?"

Elijah Kingston; Fleur Garner & Uná O'Brian

Location: Dance Studio

Mentions: Nikolai @webboysurf; Nathan & Ashford @ShieldsOfWar

Elijah was opening the door to the dance studio Fleur had asked him to meet her there. Smirking he watched the prima donna getting out danced by a little redheaded sprite that looked like she stepped off the set of Riverdance. Fleur was a distraction he wasn’t all that interested just passing time with her. She caught his eye and smirked as she executed a fouetté rond de jambe en tournant knocking the poor little sprite over. Elijah raised an eyebrow at Fleur and showed off her jealousy in a big way.

“Oh Uná you really should watch where you’re dancing, if you can call that dancing. Let me help you up.” Fleur was smirking as she held out her hand to Uná. Elijah knew what was coming and before he could warn Uná it happened. Uná took Fleur’s proffered hand and Fleur let loose with her power. Uná must not have seen Fleur’s face which made sense since Uná had been pushing her hair out of her face.

Elijah saw Uná roll about ten feet across the room as he hissed at Fleur who put on an innocent face that was all lies. He looked back over at Uná as she groaned and popped to her feet in a martial arts move that you see in movies and people who know a good bit about martial arts. The look in Uná’s eyes launched him into action. She had murder written there. As the little sprite crouched and launched herself at Fleur he managed to catch Uná around the waist. “Miss Garner I believe you’ve done your damage you may leave.”

“But Elijah I-”

“GET OUT OR I LET HER GO!!” Elijah thundered Uná was getting hard to hold onto. She was a squirmy little sprite and had almost got away from him twice now. He knew that he was lucky the little one had kept her head enough to not attack him. He heard the door shut and the little hellcat in his arms growled in frustration. “Alright sprite the lightning bug is gone. I’m not letting you go till you promise me that you can behave.” The experience would be pleasant if she wasn’t struggling so much. “Uná any chance you were named after the cute little sprite in Legend?”

Uná went still and really looked at the guy that was holding her back from that…that...Uná couldn’t come up with a scathing enough description for her. He wasn’t Nikolai or Nathan but he was pretty. She raised an eyebrow at him. “You are the first person to accurately peg my name. Well at least here.” Uná relaxed and Elijah let her go and stepped back and straightened his clothes.

Elijah smiled slightly. “Well now that’s over we should head over to Ashford’s office. He’ll be wanting to see you. I was going to bring you later around lunch but now’s as good a time as any.” He proceeded Uná out the door.

Uná grabbed her things and ran to catch up with Elijah. She was not walking behind him as if she were inferior. Her temper up she marched with her dance bag slung over her shoulder to Ashford’s office. Elijah knocked on the door and when they heard a signal to enter he ushered Uná inside. “Uná O’Brian for you sir.” Elijah saluted Uná with two fingers and stage whispered. “Promise he doesn’t bite...much” He chuckled softly at her expression of mock horror and shut the door whistling as he left.

[ Kid's Room > Hallways ] [ Interactions: open ]

No one expects the Shi'ar Inquisition!

The young warrior sat up, a bed-head of wild plumage arrayed wildly as several raven feathers dotted the pillow and covers of the bed. Peering sleepily through half-opened eyes, the proud alien invader took stock of the present point at which the planetary rotation had returned this part of the globe to the sun-lit zone that the human referred to as 'day.'

Then the boy laid back down, turned on his side, and covered his head with the sheet.

The Shi'ar Inquisition needed five more minutes...

Except the older students were up and about. Syaoran could make out the sounds of people mulling about in the halls. None of which was making it any easier to get back to sleep.

Stretching out with a yawn, the child wrestled for a moment as he found himself tangled up in the sheet. Disentangling himself from that, the Shi'ar boy looked out over the room. The child slept in a high-sleeper, the bed elevated off the ground as though it were a top bunk. Except, instead of there being another bed beneath him, the space underneath the bed frame and mattress was organized into a desk and wardrobe.

Rolling from out of the bed, the boy landed on his feet and then began sorting through for something to put on before he ventured out of the room. He came up with one of the t-shirts that were printed with the words PROPERTY OF THE ASHFORD ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT. It was supposed to be a small, but it swallowed Syaoran's diminutive form completely. The collar of the shirt was so large that one side hung off the boy's shoulder as he proceeded out of the room and over to the bathroom.

Emerging back from out of the bathroom a moment later, the feather-headed half-pint began wandering through the halls toward the kitchen.

There was a human delicacy known as Cheerios that he had developed a taste for in the mornings.

As soon as classes were out, Ruben was in his room. That was his pattern and it always had been. Usually, it had meant sitting around and drawing with Jacques strumming soft tunes on his guitar. But without the soft tunes, he was stuck with the tip of his pencil against a clear, white page of his sketchbook. Inspiration was far away and all he could think of was how utterly alone he was right now. It did not fit him. He was a social person who had barely ever spend any time alone, between his mother, his brother and his horde of acquaintances, there was always someone willing to spend their time with him. He wanted to go out and explore; make friends and all that, but something was keeping him from it. Not only were his nerves on edge, but his thigh was itching like crazy where the prosthetic was attached. So right now, it was on the floor and he did not at all feel like putting it back on and was not quite ready to let everyone know that his leg was fake and roll around in a wheelchair.

He ended up spending most of his day reading. He did not particularly like reading, but it was a way to pass the time. The worst part of it was that it made him sleepy. It was not long till the words started to blur and mush together. He tried to blink it away, but each time, it worked only for a few seconds before the text started looking like a lake of black and white. Eventually, he gave up, put the book down and went to sleep. He woke up sometime around midnight to irritatedly push his pants down, kick them off somewhere and then go back to sleep.

When he woke the next morning, it was to the sound of his alarm blaring next to his ear. Grumbling about the joy of his pillow and the lack of the scent of death from his brother's breath, he slammed his still-gloved hand against the snooze button and turned onto his side. It took about five seconds for him to realize he was even still wearing his glove. Then he groaned, loudly, and turned back over, staring at the ceiling. He was sleeping in his clothes. Disgusting.
After a while of mental struggle, he decided to get up and change. First things first, though. He needed to localize his leg if he were to get around the room properly. He quickly scanned the floor, seeing only his pants slung off in a bunch by the door. But he was certain he had left his leg on the floor, too, and he doubted someone would have come in and stolen his leg.
With a sigh, he raised himself on his one leg, the stub of the other moving like it wanted to help, which looked sort of comically morbid. Now, the next part was something Ruben never hoped anyone would see him do. He started hopping to the pants on the floor. The look of concentration on his face was like a toddler trying to figure out how to reach the cookie jar and the way he hopped could only be compared to an anthropomorphized parsnip. It was only a few hops, but it felt like a marathon to him.

Picking up the pants from the ground, he found the treasure underneath; his leg was just lying there, mocking his idiocy. As he reached for it, he bent slightly in his knee to be able to reach it. Obviously, being that his morning was already going so well, he lost his balance. In a desperate attempt to not fall on his precious leg or face, he reached out for whatever he could grab in front of him. What he did manage to grab was the door handle and although it steadied him for a moment, it also immediately betrayed him by twisting and letting the door fly open with his weight pushing against it. Not only did he fall on both his leg and his face, but he fell out the doorway and into the hall.

From there, everything went even worse. Not only had he fallen into the hallway like a moron and not only had he landed on both his legs, which dug into his abdomen and knocked the wind out of him, and his face, but there was somebody in the hall. A young woman with red hair, a can in hand and buds in her ears, obviously listening to music and appeared to be mid dance-move. An there he was, on the floor, with his pants in one hand and all.

Hey,” he managed to push out, sounding pained, embarrassed and winded all at once.

Another drink from the can, the liquid inside nearly half gone. She was going to be pumped full of energy for the next 4 or so hours… and then she'd crash. Luckily, there weren't classes today, so if she needed to, she'd just nap. There seemed to be an extra little pep in her step as another upbeat song came on. One that, as some would say, “brought out her inner stripper”. It mattered not. She was in a good mood, had her drink, and was not going to let anyone or anything fuck it up. And then, something happened. Something that scared the shit out of her.

Someone came tumbling out of their room, falling out into the hall… without pants on. Someone she didn't remember seeing. Was he New? Or maybe their paths hadn't crossed yet? Sally's eyes widened and she choked on her drink, dropping it and rushing over to his side, pants or not. Ripping her buds out, she draped them around her neck and kneeled down beside him. It was then, that she noticed he was laying on what looked like a prosthetic leg. Her eyes glanced down to the leg that it belonged to, then back up to the man. ”Jesus are you alright?!” Here, let me help you.” She grabbed his arm and wrapped it around her neck. This wasn't going to be easy, but she couldn't just leave him there. It wasn't in her. ”Alright, I'm gonna help, but you're heavier so, ya gotta help me too,” She she said with a chuckle and a bright smile, hoping to alleviate the embarassing situation. ”Alright, on 3. One… two… three.” Sally groaned in effort, her face scrunching up as she pushed herself, and the man up to their feet. Sally stumbled a bit, but quickly caught herself. Thankfully. The fact that her half dressed body was pressed against his, hadn't even registered in her head. It was the furthest thing from what was going on. She just wanted to make sure he was alright, despite the circumstances.

It took a minute, but they finally got up and Sally started helping him into his room. ”Shit,” She cursed as she glanced back, seeing the prosthetic still in the hall. ”Are you gonna be alright for a second while I grab that,” She asked as she looked over at him, her eyebrow raised in question. She figured that he would be able to stand on his own, but thought it would be better to ask anyways, instead of just disappearing and him falling over.

Cleo had stayed in bed later than she should have, yesterday’s events were certainly mad, epic and downright dangerous all in one, there was the fight she watched, which was heavy hitting but quick all the same, she ran her ass off to miss out on the close ups. Several where hurt or injured though that put a downer on it of course, but she did get to meet some new people and actually interact with them, hell made friend and got some numbers, she even shared hers out with group, even had a little naughty drink on the side.

The rest of her day was being spend getting bored having to catch up on studies and so forth, she was certainly not expecting to hit the high grades to quick though, most of the time she was meant to have in school never really happened and so it sucked being behind many but you have to start somewhere right, besides, it’s as if Cleo came out all the bad out of it right? Cleo was awake for a little while now though and was taking her time to get sorted, it appeared her roommate Lily had already gone, Cleo decided to keep it casual today but something comfortable for her, Blue Jeans and black short sleeved top with a pair of arm sleeves.

Still yawning Cleo made her way out into the girl’s dormitory hallway with the simple plan of going to the main hall to get some breakfast before someone else breaks something in this academy, she was playing around on her phone when she initially walked past a topless Drake leaning…. Wait what? Placing her phone back in her pocket the blonde stopped and looked round, lone and behold Drake really was topless with his palms against a door it was only when she got closer she realised that it was Khloe and Sally’s Dorm. “What’s going on?” Cleo asked initially seeing the frost around the edges of the door and what sounded like Khloe…. Was Khloe trapped inside her own room?

“Khloe, Is that you? If so its Cleo, we met yesterday… Oh never mind, I am here with Drake, We’re gonna try and get you out okay” Cleo spoke close to the door, it appeared Drake already had an idea, but leaning on the door, I mean unless he is secretly a fire hulk, she couldn’t she how he was going to open the door, so Cleo looked at him with this mischievous little grin, she just had the most epic idea ever. It literally took second for Cleo to back up against the opposing wall, tongue slightly sticking out while she got ready for her grand entrance. “Alright watch out Muscles.”

Rubbing her hands together for a few second Cleo went for it, pushing of the opposing wall and ran at the door, she sure hoped Drake would move out the way, if not well the idea could still work if he didn’t in her mind. Just as she got to the door Cleo flew in and dropkicked the door with a loud ass thud… followed a split second another thud… on the floor. “Owie” she groaned, the door didn’t budge and Cleo was laying on the floor. “Oh mother of Metallica my head hurts” she groaned again, not surprising she just pancaked herself on the floor with a pretty hefty thud, at least a headache for sure not that she was thinking about that. She did manage to look at Drake again though after her spectacular performance and half kind of grinned. “Hi”

[ Kid's Room > Hallways ] [ Interactions: @BoyMom69035 @The Mad Hatter ]

The t-shirt shifted around the boy's small form like a dress, or the medieval tunics of auld, reaching past his knees as he hopped, skipped, and bounced down the hall in what likely sounded like a stampede of elephants.

Then there was a commotion as a door flew open and a student that the boy didn't recognize was tumbling out in apparent pursuit or chase of either a pair of pants or a strange object that caused the boy to do a double-take.

The man only had one leg.

Was artificial limb generation beyond human medical technology?

The answer seemed to lie in the crude mechanical approximation of the human limb that was now lying at the child's feet. The lady who had introduced as Sally appeared, helping the man to his feet -- or, at least, foot -- but she seemed to have some difficulty with the feat.

Scooping up the prosthetic leg, the boy held it out in front of him as he looked up at the two older people and asked, "Can I help?"

Drake blinked a few times, trying to process what he just witnessed before returning the greeting. "Hey. Well, that was ballsy," he said with a smirk before extending his hand out to Cleo to help her to her feet. "I hope you're alright." Drake looked her up and down. Nothing seemed too off upon initial inspection. His attention then turned back to the door itself.

In a raised voice, he called out to Khloe, "Hey, I think I can apply heat to the door, and it might work and help melt some of this..." he waved his hands at the doorway, "...you know. Ice." He took a moment to realize that this predicament was pretty unbelievable. What the hell happened on the other side of this thing? "Comes with a possible drawback, though. We could potentially set this whole place on fire. No big deal. Thoughts?"

"Let it... Oh No..."

Khloe had heard all the commotion of the two who tried to help her out, the loud thud of what seemed like someone took a battering ram at the door and tried to open it, but based on Drake saying "Hey" Afterwards, she doubt that it was anything like that. Khloe pushed her head against the door and listened to Drake's plan, it sounded like something she was fine with especially since her hair and her hands were already freaking her out.

"Whatever works! I'll freeze the building if that happens- I mean, like not the building but- Argh! You get what I mean, I'll handle the fire if it get's too much!" Khloe replied loud enough so they could hear. It was really beginning to look like Frozen there, all Khloe needs to do is punch some asshole prince off a boat.

Danny Reid
&

Collab with @almalthia & @c3p-0h

Danny pushed his bright red hair off his forehead and looked around a bit dazed. "Did I just see a guy chug apple juice then milk then strip?" He looked around and his blue-green eyes landed on the girl that the "stripper" had been talking to.

He was a bit on the tall side about six foot he smiled absently thinking how she was tiny like Lily his best friend since he came to the school. Lily was always telling him he needed to talk to people. Well here he was trying it out. He'd see how it fit.

Aya jumped, startled at the voice to her side. She looked up to see a tall boy with a shock of red hair. Her eyes widened, her cheeks warming even more at being caught staring. She blinked, trying to get her mind back into gear.

"He, um..." Aya looked back to the entryway, trying to figure out how to explain the situation. "He had a bad night." Aya wanted to melt into the floor.

Danny chuckled. "Seems so. I'm being rude my name is Danny." He didn't hold his hand out then blinked and belatedly held it out. "Sorry don't do this often. Plus the display was a bit distracting."

Distracting. Aya's mind drifted to the image of his back again; muscled, dripping --

"Aya," she said, like she was surprised at her own name -- or like she was scolding herself. She snapped her hand out into Danny's and shook a little too quickly. "I don't really do this either," she said with a shaky smile. She pulled her hand back, fighting to get control over herself. "Nice to meet you, Danny."

Danny smiled serenely. "Lily tells me the next line of conversation should be something like 'Nice to meet you' or something like that. But I think since we are practically drooling at the same sight I'll ask...Who was that and where can I get one?" Better to let on that he preferred the opposite sex as friends and the same as partners now. He'd had that awkward conversation before it wasn't pleasant.

Aya's eyes widened. "I wasn't -- no, he's --" Aya was fairly certain she looked like a tomato. God, just let me die. At a loss for anything else to do, Aya buried her face in her hands. Maybe if she couldn't see anyone, she'd just stop existing. She looked up at Danny between her fingers. "I don't know his name," she finally said, her defeated voice muffled from behind her hands.

Danny's eye widened at Aya's reaction and he muttered. "Shit..." He wasn't good with people and this proved it. He'd reduced Aya to tears with a few sentences. He shuffled his feet awkwardly he wasn't good with girls crying plus he was responsible for this now. He really didn't know what to do now. He leaned down and moved her hands from her face. "Hey I don't know his name either. Maybe it's something really silly like...Butch...or Amberose...or Blaze something like that." He smiled weakly at the implication. Still holding her hands he tugged Aya gently to the stairs. "Come on I'll make up making you depressed by showing you something really cool." He grabbed a couple of apples and laid a couple of dollars on the counter. He rolled her apple down his arm and popped it into the air with his elbow and caught it very reminiscent of the scene in Aladdin. "I promise that wasn't it. Something cooler."

Aya could only follow after Danny in quiet mortification. A smile cracked as he listed the possible names. "He introduced himself last night as Professor Plum," she supplied, her nerves beginning to calm. Aya watched as Danny got fancy with the apple. "I'm sorry, I'm really fine," she said. "I'm just..." a thirsty idiot "an embarrassment."

Danny grinned. "What a coincidence me too." He gently lead her outside into the sunshine and he tilted his head to the light and took a deep breath. He let it out slowly and blushed a little then leaned down and swept his hands in a flourish and suddenly where he passed his hands flowers sprung up. He looked up and gave the Peter Pan stance grinning.

Aya couldn't help the delighted laugh that bubbled out of her at seeing the flowers. She crouched down, reaching out to touch them with the tips of her fingers. Soft petals brushed at her skin. She smiled up at Danny. "That's amazing," she said. She looked back down at the delicate flowers. As scary as mutations were... sometimes they could be something beautiful. Aya stood back up. "Thank you. Have you been at the school for very long?"

Danny rubbed the back of his neck. "Well all this summer really. That's the extent. Haven't seen you around much. How long have you been here Aya?"

"A day," she confessed. One day, and she'd already made an ass of herself. "I missed the first day of classes. You're the fourth person I've even spoken to."

Danny nodded. "That would be why I haven't seen you around. Well other than in classes you're the third person I've spoken to. I keep to myself. Easier that way. No one expects too much then. Lily saw me out here pampering the flowers and pretty much strong armed me into talking to her. I don't mind so much. She's always on to me about getting to know people. Don't get me wrong I like people it's just getting to know someone is...well awkward. Plus I'm a chatter box once you get me outside or really get to know me." He smiled sheepishly knowing he'd said more than he normally did but she seemed so excited about his powers and more comfortable now that they were away from that weird scene in the lounge.

Aya raised an amused eyebrow as Danny babbled. "I haven't met Lily yet. She sounds like my friend from high school." Aya's smile faltered as she thought of Christina. She hadn't spoken to her in months. "I was never really the social type either, though," she said, forcing her thoughts back to the present. She closed her mouth then, looking up at Danny and trying to find the proper words. "Thank you, though. For talking to me, and showing me the flowers, I mean. I'm sorry I was so weird at first."

Danny genuinely smiled. He was rather pretty when he did. He lost the uncompromising emo look and gained a Peter Pan like quality. "Well we'll just have to correct that oversight and you'll have to sit with us at lunch. I won't take no for an answer. Oh you're welcome and you weren't as weird as Professor Plum chugging juice then milk then doing his impression of Magic Mike."

Aya laughed at Danny's description. "I'd love to sit with you," she said. Aya was surprised with how much she meant it. She wasn't normally the social type, but she was in a new school... a new state. It was nice to have someone she could call a friend. He hadn't even asked her about her own power, though she knew that in all likelihood the question would come up eventually. But until then, it was nice to feel normal.

Aya's stomach chose that moment to growl. Loudly. Her cheeks heated.

"I uh, haven't had breakfast yet."

Danny laughed softly picked some flowers and held his arm out like a gentleman to Aya. "Shall we then?" He lead them to the cafeteria minus the hand holding. As they got inside he seemed a little more guarded. "The cafeteria. Better than the lounge. Come on we can find the cereal at least."

Aya glanced up at him, feeling the way his arm tensed under her own. She gave him a light pat with her hand. Giving him an encouraging smile, she said, "Cereal sounds perfect." Aya looked around as they made their way to the counter, the cereal dispenser showing an array of options -- cornflakes, wheat squares, and colorful bits of sugar sat beside a stack of bowls. Unlooping her arm from Danny's, Aya grabbed two bowls and offered one. "So, what's the school like? Anything interesting happen so far?" Aya poured herself some cornflakes with almond milk.

Danny smiled. "I forgot you didn't get here till after the crater was made. Some guy taking exception to another one talking to his girl about tutoring in Calc of all things." He looked disgusted and shook it off. "So yeah not much really important. No much gets past someone who fades into the background. I can't complain too much about it though. When do your classes start today? I'll keep track of time and get you to class on time."

Aya did a double take when Danny said crater. Though, she supposed she really shouldn't be surprised. Teenagers with super powers were still gonna get into stupid fights... just with more collateral damage. At least Aya was typically one to keep her head down. Maybe she could avoid getting involved in any drama for the school year.

She smiled up at Danny when he offered to get her to class on time. It was sweet that he wanted to look out for her like that. Actually, everyone that she'd spoken to at this school so far seemed to want to help in some way. Maybe there was just something inherently nurturing about this school. Aya felt something in her chest warm and relax a bit at the thought. Reaching into her bag to look for her schedule, she began to shake her head. "Oh, I can..." Aya trailed off. Her eyebrows pulled together. She turned her head down to look in her bag.

"I... think I left my schedule in my room." She gave an embarrassed laugh. "It's fine," she said. "I think I start a bit later on Tuesdays. We can eat and I'll just go back and grab it after." Aya closed her bag, grabbing her bowl of cereal. Together, the two found a table to enjoy their meal.

Ruben allowed himself to be helped to a stand, mostly because it would look even more awkward if he started trying to attach his leg now, after this whole scene. In his mind, he was determined to play it cool and act as if this was nothing, until he realized just how bad the whole thing looked. He never really thought of himself as disabled, but he guessed he kind of was, with missing a leg and all. He did his best to help and lean as little on the girl as he possibly could, but he was in need of the support, since he felt that familiar tingle of energy inside of himself that usually accompanied the sense of pain. He just hoped he was doing a good job at hopping without too much support. “Zank you,” he said, smiling as warmly as he knew how to do, but not able to completely hide his embarrassment, “I can stand.

Sally's eyebrow perked up and her smile grew. Cute and had an accent. How had she not met this guy yet? Probably because she was too busy trying to stop fights and drooling over a certain bearded beauty. She pushed the sudden thoughts from her head and nodded, slipping out from under his arm. It was when she turned, she saw the cute little boy standing in the hall, holding the object she had intended to go back for. He stood there with the prosthetic, asking if he could help. "Yes, you can. You can bring that in, if ya would?" It was also then, that she noticed her drink in the hall. It had spilled out everywhere. Sally held her hands out and made a noise that clearly meant she was upset. Turning back around to face the man, she grinned and clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "You owe me a new drink, Captain," she joked with a smile.

The Sally person confirmed that the boy could help. Venturing forward, the boy bounded over to where the two were standing, holding out the leg. That was when he saw the spill in the hallway, and immediately questioned just what he’d gotten himself involved with. “Just so we’re clear, I meant helping with this,” the child remarked, freeing one hand so that he could point at the detached leg. “Not with that,” he added, pointing over to the spill.

Ruben took his prosthesis with a smile and held back a laugh at the comment the child made on the spilled drink. The girl's comment, however, made him feel a bit bad. “Zank you both for ze help,” he said, “I will help clean zat in a momént,” he added quickly before making a few awkward hops backwards, till the back of his knee hit the edge of his bed and he rather unceremoniously fall on his ass. “I swear, I am not usually such an empoté,” he added with a small laugh, pulling the harness onto his stump and attaching the leg, “You would zink I 'ave two left feet,” he joked, hoping it was not too awkward for his company that he was actually strapping on his leg and all with them in the room. It was too late now to think about it.

Sally laughed at the boy, Sy if she remembered correctly, and was about to say something about his comment towards her drink, when the other spoke up first. She waved her hand in a dismissive manner, rolling her eyes. "No, no, you don't worry about that. I'll get it." She glanced over at Sy and wondered what exactly he had meant when he mentioned helping with the mans leg. And then suddenly, her eyes widened and she turned back to face the other man, her eyes glancing down to his motions as he situated his prosthetic. Quickly glancing back up, she stuck her hand out and smiled warmly. "Sally. I'm Sally. And this," she said as she stepped up beside Sy, scratching the top of his feathered head. Hopefully he didn't mind too much. "Is Sy.

The Shi’ar hatchling didn’t seem to mind having his plumage tousled, but he was distracted by the woman’s figure of speech. “Two left...” the child uttered, before his head turned up sharply to give the human female a confused look. “Wait, what?” Was this another form of metaphorical speech? “How... like, you can’t... How could you have two left feet?” the child managed finally, his train of thought starting and stopping several times before he finally managed to get his brain and mouth working on the same page.

Ah, a regal, zen?” Ruben joked when the girl introduced herself and the child, shaking her offered hand with his gloved one. “My name is Rhybén, but you can call me Ruben, since that is 'ow I spell it,” He introduced, noticing the child sputtering in confusement. At the question, he could not hold himself back from softly laughing at the innocence of a child's mind. “It means being clumsy, chiot. It is, 'ow you say, a figuré of speech,” he explained to the best of his abilities. He remembered what it was like to come to America and have no idea what half the things people said even meant. “It was joke. Since I have no left leg and zat makes me clumsy.

Noticing that he shook her hand with the hand that was gloved, she made a mental note to maybe ask about it later. She was too damn curious for her own good. "Ruben," She repeated as she tilted her head head bit and looked him over. "You don't look like a Ruben, but the name fits ya oddly enough." Sy's confusion at the figure of speech caught her off guard and she burst out in laughter as she looked down at him. Ruben beat her to the explanation, but she couldn't contain her giggles. "He's right," she began as she glanced at Ruben, then back to Sy. "Having two left feet means you're just really clumsy." Kinda like me. "So, have y'all eaten yet? Don't know about y'all, but I'm pretty hungry." Sally glanced between the two, her smile warm and excited about the thought of getting something to eat, and with company no less.

He was Shi’ar and what was this linguistic nonsense? Why couldn’t the galaxy just speak Aerie? Or Kree. Well, actually, no, he’d done kinda horrible on his last Kree vocabulary test. “What are Rubens supposed to look like?” the boy asked, the trend of being confused continuing with Sally’s remark. At least he understood the part about food. Human dietary customs were actually rather odd. The morning meal, breakfast, seemed to be associated with cooked chicken zygotes and seared pig flesh. Neither of which was all that appetizing to him. But their Cheerios were quite enjoyable. “I have not,” the boy stated, answering the question that was asked.

Ruben just nodded and smiled at Sally's comment on his name. It would take too long and was not nearly interesting enough to explain the difference of use between the American name Ruben and his French one, which was quite common. He also neglected to mention that it was technically seen as a girl's name, even if it was technically unisex. This kid, however, was cracking him up without even meaning to and Ruben wanted to keep the little pup' around all the time. It was a good question, though. He had never met and American Ruben, so maybe they did look a certain way that was nothing like him. At the mention of food, his eyes pretty much lit up with little Christmas lights. He was starving. He had (accidentally) skipped dinner the night before and his stomach had a hole in it. After a second, his face flushed painfully red and with the most timid voice he had ever heard come out of his own mouth, he responded, “I would need to... put on pants, first.

Again, Sally couldn't contain her laughter at Sy. She scratched his feathered head again and wrapped her arm around him, pulling him against her side. "Tell ya what, we'll go through all of the weird figures of speech later and get you up to date on them all, yeah?" He then mentioned that he hadn't eaten yet, and then so did Ruben. Perfect! Sally then noticed Ruben blushing, looking nearly as red as a tomato. She was on the verge of asking if he was alright, when he mentioned having to put pants on. Jesus she had forgotten! Sally's jaw dropped, her eyes widening, and she gasped. Her eyes glanced down, then quickly back up. In a flash, she turned and felt her own cheeks burn with a blush. "Right!! Right that... yeah that... that would be good." She cleared her throat and pointed to the hall. "I'm just gonna wait out there... clean that mess up and stuff... yeah." With that, she hurried out the door, making sure she kept her eyes down as she turned to shut the door. Once she was in the hall, she couldn't help but laugh a little, slapping her hand over her face. "Wow."

The turn of the conversation to the subject of pants and propriety caused the boy to look down at his bare feet, which were sticking out from underneath the hem of the small-yet-large-to-him shirt that he wore. With that, the young Shi’ar realized that he’d seen Ruben fall out into the hall with pants. But also that the pants didn’t seem to be with them now. Turning around, the boy skipped past Sally as he ducked out through the door and found the trousers in the hall. Then picked those up and returned in the same bombastic fashion to deliver them. As he held the trousers out, the boy remarked, “I feel like pants are optional for breakfast.

I suppose you're right,” Ruben responded with a small chuckle as he accepted his pants back from the young boy, “But, you know, me 'aving a fake leg is not something I want everyone to know,” Ruben did a final adjustment of his leg, so it sat perfectly before pushing the small, discreet button that caused the thing to pretty much suck itself onto his stump. He rose and tested the limb before finally going to the dresser. He pulled the shirt he had been wearing off over his head and grabbed a fresh one from a drawer. He pulled his pants from the hall on, even though he actually wanted to wear fresh ones, since he felt the child's act of kindness would go in vain if he did not wear them. He spent a moment locating the missing pant-leg on the bed, zipping it back on and eventually pulling on a pair of shoes. All of this took him about two minutes and he was out in the hall, still slightly flushed and still feeling griddy after sleeping in his clothes, but more than ready for breakfast. The child came out with him and he shut and locked the door behind them. “I could really go for some waffles,” he said and started the trek down the hall.

While she waited for the other two to emerge from the room, Sally had gone to one of the nearby bathrooms and snatched a big handful of paper towels. In all honesty, she probably didn't need as many, as she had drank the drink a little less than half when she dropped it. So, she knelt down and picked the can up, setting it aside while she wiped up the loaded sugar water. Just as she had finished and stood, the two males came out. Sally glanced down at the spot where the mess had been and shrugged. It would be sticky when it dried, but at least it was cleaned up. Ruben mentioned waffles just as Sally tossed the trash into the bin, and smiled. Waffles actually sounded super delicious. Hell, most things sounded super delicious right now. "Those sound amazing, actually. Some bacon, toast, hash browns, maybe a biscuit with honey inside..." Sally trailed off and grinned as she looked at both of her male companions as they made their way down the halls. "We'll just see what they have there. If need be, I will cook it all. " Sally smiled at Ruben, then winked at Sy, her smile growing.

Humans. It was only a matter of time before seared pig meat was brought up in conversation relative to the breakfast meal. As the trio walked through the halls of the school, the feather-headed youth turned to look at the Sally lady, “That sounds like a lot of food.” Seriously, people, a box of Cheerios was all that a warrior needed to start their day of intergalactic conquest. They didn’t even need milk! Cheerios were perfectly good gobbled up straight from the box. Why put forth the effort into actually preparing a meal? And, boy, did they prepare. Humans even handled raw meat! And cooked over open fires in some ritualized hunter-gatherer societal remnant known as grilling. It was a very primitive species.

Ruben laughed softly as Sally listed a whole menu worth of foods that she wanted to eat and Sy's comment on the sheer amount of it. “You Americans are so odd with your food," he started, shaking his head, but smiling all the while to show that it was all said in good heart, “You eat each meal like it should last all day.” After a moment of thought, he added, “I had actually never had a waffle before I came to America, but ze croissants you 'ave 'ere are terrible,” at the last part, he made sure to lay his accent on thick and stick his nose up, but broke into a grin after and gave a little laugh.

Sally looked down at the boy and chuckled, nodding her head. "It is alot of food. I can eat a lot," she said as she pat her belly. Her attention was then turned to Ruben when he spoke about how Americans were odd with their food. Yeah, sometimes they ate meals that took longer to cook than eat. It was weird. And then he surprised he by mentioning that he had never had a waffle before coming to America. His comment about the croissants making her laugh out loud. "Yeah, I don't know. They're good to me, but I've never been to France and had the "good kind," she air quoted and looked over at him with a playful grin. Sally could play along.

The boy was quickly confused. “What’s an American?” The young Shi’ar asked, curiously. Honestly, he was quite certain that humans, as a species, were constrained by the limits of their technology to this single planet. So was France just a different part of the Earth? And, if it was, how different could it be? This wasn’t the difference between Throneworld and Chandilar, this was two geographic points on the same orbital feature!

Ruben was just about to reply to Sally, his mouth already open and all. When the small boy asked his question. The noise that left him, rather than words, were far from charming and probably resembled the noise of a pig eating corn. After taking a moment to steady and stop himself from going into a full-blown giggle-fit, he raised his hands in front of him in a sort of defensive and dismissive way, but with a huge grin on his face simply said, “I am not touching zat one!

Eyes wide, Sally looked over at Ruben with a look that said "thanks for the help". Despite the look, she smiled. "An American, is what I am, Sy. I was born in North America. You see," she began as she brought her hands up as if it would help her explain what she was trying to say. "There are a bunch of different continents on this one planet, and almost all of them, contain smaller countries or states within them. There are a vast number of different kinds of people and cultures out there. Take Ruben," Sally glanced and motioned to him with her hand. "He is from a country called France. His country is thousands of miles from here, America. Los Angeles, California, to be exact." Sally looked down at Sy then, hope filking her features. "Does that make sense?"

The boy just blinked. “Nation-states?” The boy remarked, having to dig deep into his vocabulary to find the right term. Next to nobody in the intergalactic arena used a nation-state system of political identity. There were a handful of exceptions. At least, he thought there might be. “It’s like your single planet is its own tiny galaxy,” the boy remarked.

Ruben was really enjoying this conversation. He had never really spent much time around children before, since Jacques was not exactly … child-friendly. If all of them were this amazing, he needed some ASAP. He had always been a social creature, so friendly interaction came easy to him, but he could not remember the last time he had so much fun just talking to other people. Not since he had come to America, probably. “I don't know enough about any galaxies to say,”, he admitted with a shrug, but his smile still on his face, “What I know about space is limited to what I've seen on télévision.

Sally nodded, agreeing with Ruben as far as galaxies went. And what she learned in school, but that still wasn't anything compared to what Sy knew. It mattered not. They could learn from him, and he could learn from them. It would definitely be interesting breakfast talk, that's for sure. So, on the trio went, making their way to the kitchen in search of breakfast. Their conversations continued well into the kitchen and throughout breakfast. Ruben and Sally laughing at Sy, while he quietly munched on Cheerios straight from the box. After he got his Cheerios, he pretty much went silent. It was all about his food. Ruben and Sally however, continued their conversations while they ate waffles. Ruben had even gone as far as dipping his in his coffee, causing Sally to make a face in disgust. The pair seemed to hit it off quite well despite the odd meeting. He was friendly, had a good sense of humor, and an accent. Plus, he was cute. Him and Sy both were, but for completely different reasons. All in all, the day had started out quite well. She only hoped it stayed that way

Cleo couldn’t help but blow the few strands of hair out of her face and smiled at Drakes comment, if anything she rather enjoyed her attempt even if it failed. None the less Cleo took Drakes hand to her get back on her feet, even if a bit sore after that rough landing. She glanced at the door a few times before looking at him, after all that it seemed the dam thing didn’t move and inch and probably gave Khloe a heart attack in her vain attempt of rescue.

“A headache at least, I’ll probably regret it later…. Just what the hell do they make these doors out of?” She said looking over at Drake who had once more spoke aloud to Khloe, telling her of his plan, to be honest it was better than her battering ram attempt a few moments ago. She listened to what the girl on the other side said. She looked at Drake again.“If this goes sideways…” Cleo looked genuinely concerned as she raised her hand a little while pointing a finger in a hold that thought motion. “I’m just gonna get a fire extinguisher, You know, just in case.” She quickly trotted off to retrieve one from down the corridor and hauled it back a few moments later. “Alright muscles, ready when you are.”

Drake “D” Edwards

Location: Ashford Institute for the Gifted > Hallways Interactions/Mentions:@KatKook@Damo021

Drake gave a small nod to Cleo, accompanied by a wink. With that, he placed one hand on the knob and the other on the edge of the door just to the side of it and then intensely stared, as if he could see right through the doorway itself. He breathed slow, shallow breaths as he focused his energy into his hands, imagining the warmth, prompting it to become reality. The crystalline frost began to morph it's shape, fracturing before becoming liquid. The doorknob itself began to heat. As before, steam began to rise as the water evaporated around Drake's fingers. On his last attempt, he had stopped here. This time, he would need to keep pushing.

A bead of sweat formed on his brow as he forced himself to push his will further. Small licks of flame began to sprout on the backsides of his hands while his palms continued to sizzle. It didn't take long for the ice around to knob itself to totally dissipate while the hand beside it cleared out what he could see of the ice surrounding the latch bolt. How it was looking from the other side, he wasn't sure, but this may be the best he could do at this point.

Without losing focus, Drake began to turn the knob. It wasn't without resistance, but the the knob surrendered, giving a quarter turn at first, and then a reluctant half before finally breaking completely loose. A small grin forced on Drake's face. His sense of accomplishment was short lived, though. As he tried to push the door open, it still wouldn't budge. There's gotta still be ice buildup along the frame, he decided. He looked to Cleo, giving a sheepish look that silently said This is going to be a little harder than I thought.

Without removing his hands, which were still dressed in minuscule fires that danced between his fingers, Drake reared back and changed his footing. Please don't look stupid, please don't look stupid... Drake's lips curled into a snarl, his adrenaline kicked up and the tiny flames on his fingers grew significantly.

Drake sprung forward...

...and faceplanted the door. MOTHERFU-! He couldn't tell if he was blushing or getting angry or both, but he immediately reared back again, the flames getting a little higher. He didn't have much time before the fire would find something it liked and start consuming it. Building himself back up for only a beat, Drake shoved his shoulder in the door a second time, giving it his all. The thunderous CRACK was the soundtrack of victory as the ice gave way to Drake's momentum. The door flung open. He found himself in the middle of a frozen doorway to a frozen room staring at a not-so-frozen Khloe.

"Soooo.... powers are fun, eh?"

Cooking with Lily

Api prepared the cheese then watched as Lily cooked the omelets, he’d had a few dishes with mushrooms before but they were not an ingredient he himself would normally request because he found them too musky but as his Uncle once told him; “When a woman cooks for a man he is a fool to complain over her choice of dishes”

Uncle Helmud’s advice was always spot on so Api held his opinion of the meal to himself even though he thought it a bit rich for the time of day, normally he had plain oatmeal boiled in milk with water as he had at 5:30 this very morning.

When the cooking was done he sat with Lily and listened to her as she spoke and answered her questions careful to pay attention to everything she said and store it in his internal library knowing that Helmud’s advice on listening to women also spot on.

When the meal was over Api couldn’t help but show off his new discovery of power control placing an attractive mass at the clean sinks then zeroing out the dishes one after the other so that they stacked themselves as he walked over telling her that as she’d done the cooking he’d do the cleaning. Of course she tried to insist she didn’t mind cleaning up but he insisted and was puzzled and surprised when she gave him an odd confused smile as if what he was doing was out of the ordinary.

The Rolling Sea

The Grand Banks were shadowed in dark clouds reminding Api of the long night of winter in his hometown and only the rolling of the Grettir telling him he was at sea if he didn’t go up on deck. All around him were other men of the sea enjoying a hearty meal and the company of equals; one big family except that their profession and hours gave them all a very masculine scent.

He’d taken note of it on his first trip to sea but grown used to it by his this his third cruise and was sure he himself would have smelled as they except that he and Arn had be rushed to the shower to use to drive the chill from their bones.

The others on the Grettir gave him a bit more room and acted nervous around him, well except for Arn who had now claimed Api as his brother and showed no such worries.

”Gunnar you are a fine young man and one any man here could count on as a true friend and for that reason I want you to come to my house so my beautiful daughters and wife may thank you as well. laughed the big man happy to be reprieved.

Api knew Arn’s daughters Alfdis and Gunndis, they were a year his junior and as twins well know at school as was their overprotective mother Kris who the boys Api knew said was always watching if you neared the two blonde beauties.

Arn slapped him on the back so hard Api coughed and had to catch his breath and once he had he laughed and punched Arn’s shoulder in a friendly manner.

Three weeks at sea passed and eventually the others in the crew accepted him but still thought of him as Huldufólk because they couldn’t forget seeing he and Arn floating 6 meters above the sea as the Grettir made its turn and eventually brought the pair back aboard. They didn’t see him as from legendary Svartalfheim but of Alfheim and due respect; Api knew that most word realise the truth before to long but the truly superstitious would pass it on as once did the skáld.

His uncle Helmud tried to control rumor pointing out the existence of mutants but that only brought up talk of Thor who was an Avenger, Loki his brother who had plagued man recently, and others of the legends. This made things odd when some decided that Api wasn’t Huldufólk but possibly that his father was Ægir and he’d not drowned but returned to the sea. It did help the men pass the remaining time and when their catch was a record one that year made them think of Api as good luck.

Strings of the Universe

The professor had decided to make Api the perfect tool to measure the theoretical Planck scale so he found himself the center of his small classes attention as they fired off question after question seeking the truth of the universal power of gravitons. Verifcation of a Planck length a scale at which quantum gravitational effects begin to be apparent, where interactions of a working theory of quantum gravity can be analyzed. They tried measure photon momentum using his intrinsic mutant ability to bypass the Heisenberg uncertainty principle which causing a black hole as they delved into area’s of Loop Quantum Gravity, Spin Network, Photons, and strange quantum particles in many areas Api failed to provide their needs but in those he found he could he created an air of excitement.

To Api it was a grand exercise and he felt he was expanding his own understanding of his gift which one day might make him a true Primary Elemental on par with Storm and Magneto. He of course sought to increase his power but he also understood that without knowledge and control he could like they rip the world apart in a cataclysmic display of foolish behavior or loss of control; such an event even if it were small would make him a killer.

When he finished his class he headed to the Gym and did as he always did to calm his mind and went through a routine on the pommel horse his body becoming the focus of his mind as he flowed through a routine that would have scored as high as 9.3 without cheating using his gravitic control.
