Reason to join the SGC: When Flynn was approached for the SG program, he wasn't given much information about it. He didn't even get much of a name about it really. He was given little time to think it over too. Finally after a few minutes of agonizing thinking, he decided to agree. The reasoning was simple, they must have chosen him for a reason and he could help his country. Besides a secret project was probably more exciting than occasional piloting. He didn't have an idea how right he was at the time.
History: Flynn's story is a rather common one all things considered. He was born in a middle class family in Washington, his father was a professional soldier and his mother was a teacher. They lived well and while they weren't the richest, they were never in need of money. Since very young he followed in his father's footsteps in many ways, including his passion for classical literature. They had a little bit of an argument after he joined the military also and went for the Air force while his father was with the Marines, but they sorted that one rather quick. Since then he's been in a few different tours and has performed excellently enough to attract the attention of the Stargate Program. Still because the nature of his work with the program, he never entered in a lasting relationship, but at the end of the day he takes solace in the fact that his work is important and he'd take going through the stargate every day over settling down.

Reason to join the SGC:
Crystal was starting to get bored a little with the sort of work she was doing. After yet another week spent in Egypt translating hieroglyphics and other languages, she was ready to find something else to do. Problem was, she wasn't doing the best with the rest of her life at the time, so she knew it would be almost impossible for her to find something new, especially since she was lacking in money and couldn't just drop everything to change what she was doing. That was when she was approached about a secret government project, and she realized that this was her chance to try something new, and went for it, deciding to join the SGC, even though she didn't really have any idea what it was she was signing up for.

History:
Crystal was born the youngest child, and only daughter, of Elliot and Rose Hanson. Her older brothers were Thomas and Laurence, and her family was a bit well off. Her father was the CEO of a company, one that her oldest brother Thomas was set to inherit when he retired. She loved her brothers growing up, and generally stuck around close by to them, preferring being outside and getting dirty with them.

However, that was not exactly how her mother wanted Crystal to act and behave, as the older woman was very old fashioned in her ways, and believed that girls shouldn't be racing around outdoors, but learning how to take care of a home. So most days, she was locked inside of the house, having to deal with everything her mother wanted her to. Sure, they had maids and such, but Rose wanted her daughter to learn about cleaning and cooking all on her own, so she on occasion had her help the maids out, despite not needing to.

This treatment developed into a severe hatred of her mother that would go on to last for the rest of her life. Crystal excelled in school, and it was there that she discovered her love for history and archaeology. It served as a sort of escape from what her mother wanted her to do, and she was willing to do whatever it took to pursue her love into a potential career. She managed to get several scholarships to any university she wanted when she graduated, but her mother was not going to let her go to school anymore without a fight.

Her father managed to calm the situation, and put money into an account for her so that she could pursue her degree in Archaeology and Linguistics, despite her mother's protests. Then, her father became ill, and during this time her mother cut Crystal off from the entire rest of the family, and she found out about her father's death in the newspapers about 3 years after he got sick.

With that, her mother went to take the money he had left for her away, but found that it had been put in a separate account under Crystal's name, an account that her mother did not have access to, and could not take away from her. She was saddened by her father's death, and with her older brother's following along with Rose, she was completely cut off from her family, or any sort of financial help after she graduated from the university. That didn't stop her though, and with the little bit of money she still had left over, she went on her first archaeological dig in Egypt, and started making her own way in the world.

She worked hard for what she had, but when she was approached to join the SGC, even though she didn't know what she was going to be doing, she didn't hesitate to join. Maybe one day she'd be able to prove to her mother that what she was doing was the right thing, even if the old woman would never truly be able to see it.

Family:
She is the youngest of three children, her brother Thomas is 6 years older than her, while her brother Laurence is 3 years older. Crystal was fairly close to her older brothers, and she loved them a lot. She also was very close with her father, who only ever wanted the very best for her and her relationship with her mother has been strained for as long as she could remember. When her father died, Crys felt like she had lost everything. Cut off entirely from the rest of her family after only 3 years at the university, she hasn't talked to any of them since she was 21 years old, though she does hope to one day maybe reconnect with her older brothers.

He doesn't mind listening to people, as long as they don't force him to answer. He enjoys trying to read people, and even trying to guess their life story. Although he would never admit it out loud. Reason to join the SGC: He was contacted about the SG program at a point in his life where he doubted everything. Doubted his purpose in the army, doubted himself. Evan was also at a point, now looking back on it, where he was incredibly bored of being a pilot. The first experience of flying a plane high in the air was long gone and he was in the need of something more exciting. He didn't need to know anything about the program to accept to join it, the lack of information given and the mystery surrounding it was all he needed to jump in.
History: Evan doesn't have an interesting story. He grew up in New-York with two loving parents. His father was strict and had high expectations for him, but he was never abusive. Not really. He went through elementary and high-school as the odd kid, constantly bullied. He came out of it hating people, introverted, and incredibly distrustful. He felt the need to get away from everyone and the army offered him just that; a chance to get away from everything. He became an excellent soldier, attentive and focused, excelling at strategy and athletic enough to get through the physical challenges. At the young age of 29, he's been through three tours in Afghanistan and Kuweit. This and his excellent results and recommendations from the Academy earned him the attention of the SG program. So here he is, ready to embark on a new adventure, something that will give him the chance of getting away from boredom.

The only interesting thing about him might be his pansexuality. He doesn't talk about it, even though Don't Ask, Don't Tell is gone as a policy in the army. He just doesn't believe there's anything interesting about it, himself. He simply does not care for gender. He rarely lets himself feel attracted to other people, or interested in them, but when he does, he gets attached to personalities and connections more than genders. Bodies are just bodies, and to him, there's no reason to close doors due to something as silly as that.
Family: A pretty normal family all around. A loving mother, very affectionate. She always believed in Evan and always encouraged him to reach his potential. She wished he had had more friends in his childhood and she always felt a little sad that he grew up to be introverted, and bullied. She knows he's misunderstood and she thinks it's unfair. His father is loving in his own way. He's always been strict and having high expectations for the Bellamy. He needed good grades, a good plan for the future, and for his son to be responsible, mature. He didn't expect Evan to head into the Air Force, but he still ended up feeling proud of his son, and even more when he learned about his excellent results in the Academy and on missions. Evan writes letters to them, sometimes, especially for his mother. He knows she misses him. He tries to visit them back in New-York, but it happens rarely. Reason to join the SGC: Cassandra was approached on her way home from her last day of classes, she was one of the smartest students at MIT, although she wasn't really given much information, somehow she had caught the eye of the US Government despite her being from the UK. Though it did interest her just enough for Cass to actually sign up and agree with it as well, and figured that she would get an interesting job other than finding a job at a major tech company of some kind that had also approached her with some job offers. But Cass was interested in all of the secrecy and decided it was something she wanted to actually do.
History: Cassandra was born to a pretty poor family they lived in a cheap two room apartment, she had to share her room with two other siblings a younger sister and an older brother. Growing up her family had a very hard time just trying to get by with what they had, both of their parents were working two jobs leaving her older brother to take care of his two sisters. But Cassandra was also able to help out a lot as well to take care of their younger sister. During school however Cassandra was very smart, more so then the other kids in her class.

By high school Cassandra was taking college level courses, she always had a knack for engineering as well as physics by the time she graduated Cassandra had quiet a few scholarships that was offered to her. Cassandra chose to go to MIT where she flourished getting the best grades of her class, she chose to major in physics and engineering as her majors. When Cassandra turned 24 she wanted to bring her sister over to America which she quickly said yes, in order to lessen the burden on her parents who were still struggling back at home.
