Character Name: Hiko Kyoryu
Race: Pterodactyl
PL: 910
Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Fighter Waiting Room
Tagging: @williwaw

Hiko had just begun to enter into a state of deep meditation when his concentration was suddenly broken by a sharp jab in his side. He opened his eyes to see the large beauty he’d been admiring earlier was now prodding his ribcage. Hiko’s face flushed with blood as he became suddenly embarrassed. It wasn’t often that girls talked to him, let alone touched him. He stared up at her, trying his hardest to look only at her face, lest he bring shame upon himself and her. However, the fiery intenseness in the giantess’ eyes made Hiko even more uncomfortable.

He was confused by the large woman, who he had heard earlier call herself Sheeban. She seemed to have a problem with Hiko’s white skin and seemed to be confused that he had gills instead of lungs. Did she perhaps mistake him for a fish? Sheeban went on chastise Hiko for acting meekly, and demanded a war-cry from him. Hiko wasn’t sure why she was so concerned with his demeanor.

Hiko responded to the woman, his voice coming out more quiet and reserved then he meant it to. “I apologize if my pale complexion is upsetting to you, but I am unable to change it. I also must correct you, I am not a sea creature and have lungs rather than gills.” Hiko unfurled his wings slightly, as if to help illustrate to the confused woman that he was not from the ocean. “As for a war-cry, I’m afraid that such behavior would be uncouth for a monk such as myself.”

Hiko hoped this answer would suffice. Every moment around Sheeban made him uncomfortable, and he desperately wanted to be out of her presence. He even retracted his earlier desire to face her in combat. This woman made Hiko have feelings he’d never had before, and he noticed his tail uncurling and stiffening up. He would have to pray vigorously to Lord Tsubasa later to apologize for his weakness.

Character Name: Grisha
Race: Saiyan
PL: 910
Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Registration
Tagging: Open, @CommanderCool@The Abyss, Lena and Tobias (NPCs)

A girl dressed like a witch had suddenly approached Tobias and Lena. The two were focused on the exchange between Grisha and the other monkey—whatever his race was. Lena fanned the woman away. She was in the way. “I’m sorry, but I have to watch this!”

Grisha was grinning as he continued to hug Raddik so lovingly. His grin then shrank when his little brother appeared to be having a tantrum. Grisha’s brows rose in concern as Raddik started to scream. Was he hurting him? His black eyes darted down to Raddik’s body as his muscles pumped full of strength.

“Grisha let him go!” Lena fearfully screamed.

Damn you!!!!

Grisha glanced back at Raddik only in time for the Saiyan’s skull to meet with his in a loud crack. Tobias cringed and Lena shrieked. She made a motion to run to him, but Tobias held her tight. “It’s not safe!” he warned her.

Grisha’s head rocked back, his teeth clenched in what appeared to be pain. The giant almost appeared ready to collapse backwards, but he suddenly froze. Grisha’s frown then suddenly turned upward and widened in an amused grin. His body started shaking with…laughter. His teeth parted as he continued to laugh joyfully. Both Lena and Tobias regarded him blankly. They thought for sure he had been hurt.

Grisha’s teeth came together and with a growl of effort, his skull rocked forward to slam against Raddik’s with a noise that sounded like two boulders colliding. He had struck Raddik harder than intended, and so was slightly surprised when the other Saiyan was propelled from his arms. Tobias’s and Lena’s mouths fell open in shock as they watched Raddik go flying through the air to land with a thud. It didn’t stop there! The force had sent him sliding. Raddik, however, sprang to his feet as though he hadn’t been as affected as they all had thought. He was even angrier than before.

“AH HA HA HA HA!” Grisha cheerfully laughed. His own tail was snapping happily behind him whilst his hands rested upon his hips. “Little Brother strong like Grisha!”

When Raddik asked him what his skull was made out of, Grisha blinked and scratched the back of his head. He had no idea. Lena raced over to Grisha with her father and grasped the giant’s leg. “Grisha, let’s go. We need to get you signed up before they close. You guys scared everyone away.”

Grisha glanced around at the empty vicinity. The registration area had once been crowded, but now it was reduced to nothing. Grisha blushed. As Lena tugged the big oaf along, Grisha waved at Raddik and grinned. “Bye! Visit Grisha!”

Tobias then paled and tried to jump and snag Grisha’s arm to lower it. He then yelled over to Raddik sheepishly, “You don’t want to visit us. It’s too cold. You’ll freeze to death. Brr! Stay here where it’s warm.”

Grisha frowned down at Tobias. “Little brother visit Grisha!”

“Not in my house he doesn’t!”

Lena walked over to the booth while Tobias and Grisha were engrossed in a pissing match. Grisha’s tail stood stiff behind him as he bore his teeth at Tobias like an enraged dog. The two were shouting at each other, while Lena rested her arms upon the ticket booth counter and forced a smile as though she wasn’t embarrassed. “Hello, I would like to enter that big guy behind me into the tournament please.”

The ticket booth attendant peeked through the window and her eyes bulged at the creature who was holding Tobias in the air and shaking him around in a fit. “Oh my! Uh…what is his name?”

Help! Help Lena!

Lena turned her head and shouted at Grisha, “Grisha! Put my father down now!”

Grisha glared at Tobias and then rolled his eyes as an exasperated sigh left his lips. He dropped his arms, letting the man fall to the floor.

“Ack! My hip!”

Lena’s head then snapped back to the ticket custodian, her blonde hair swishing behind her as she innocently giggled to play off her temper. “Sorry. I couldn’t hear you with all that noise.”

A sweat drop descended the back of the ticket custodian’s head as she smiled nervously. “Uh, what is his name?”

“Oh! It’s Grisha,” Lena answered.

Grisha’s face suddenly appeared before the booth, causing the woman to fly back in her rolly chair in a start. Grisha peered through the window curiously. “Tiny box. How lady fit in box?”

Lena pressed a hand against Grisha’s chest to hopelessly push him back. “Grisha! I’m trying to sign you up.”

Grisha stepped back and then curiously started inspecting the ticket booth. It was so small. He would feel so uncomfortable.

Character Name: Sheeban
Race: Human
PL: 910
Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Waiting Room
Tagging: @slingshot

There was a flurry of thoughts going through Sheeban’s mind. The first was what sort of boonies was this dinosaur from. Hiko wasn’t capable of understanding some basic phrases of the colloquial lexicon. Perhaps he was a monk hick? But why would a beastman pterodactyl be a monk willingly? It was far more likely this was what an agent assigned him due to a lack of skill in gabbing. Plus Sheeban had already established interest, she wasn’t going to let a possible future practitioner of the techniques of the Castle go. A dinosaur man, if properly trained, would probably benefit Satan’s Castle. Plus Chanel could see this dude needed help feeling right in his own scales. It was the big-hearted thing to do.

Then there was the secondary thought when Hiko’s wings brushed against her. Her right eyebrow began twitching as Sheeban’s nostrils flared in a snort. ”You know...” the goliath began to say, ”...Copping for a feel only works if you follow through.” This statement was punctuated by Sheeban’s right meaty hand deftly reached to grab the dino’s tail.

Leaning in closer to Hiko, the giantess continued in her dialogue. ”We are not like the tiny folk; we are predators not prey. They exist to be eaten while we eat. That means showing some dignity.”

She snorted, ”Something you lack. SO...” howled out Sheeban, ”You will be under my tutelage, you will learn from and obey your princess for that is MY DECREE! Now speak up knave, speak your name.”

Raddik
Saiyan
910
Day 1, Morning
Waiting Room
@Holy Soldier@Williwaw

_____________________________________________________________________________________

It didn't make any damn sense... this couldn't be happening right now, it was as if Raddik had entered some kind of parallel universe and this couldn't possibly be the same Saiyan General. The one that had single handedly wiped out an entire planet without so much as breaking a sweat. He had the strength, the size, but his mind was completely melted, all Raddik could do was glare when the woman Lena pushed Grisha away inviting him over to visit and subsequently the man who seemed to be her father whom quickly denied the idea with his own witless excuse. Who were these... creatures to him? That woman seemed to be pretty attached to him, the older one seemed not to like it, something of which became obvious as him and Grisha tussled with each other as Lena signed Grisha up for the tournament. If it had been in other circumstances Raddik might have found this entire ordeal pretty funny but the fact of the matter was that he didn't. With General Oniyon in this state it caused him problems, the biggest of those problems being that as long as the General was here and alive he could not return to Planet Vegeta. How the hell was he suppose to even explain this to the others? It didn't matter what he said if it was truth or a lie, the fact he came back alive and unharmed and without the General or any of the unit would look bad on him. Saiyans were exiled for less on Planet Vegeta and he had no intention of his fate being stranded on a desolate hell with nothing but hostile creatures to keep him company.

This left him with little options at this point, he had to bring Oniyon back to Planet Vegeta and this would be impossible with those two fools hovering around him, especially the woman. Which meant that either he had to eliminate those two from the picture which would most likely drive that behemoth child into a frenzy or he would just kill Oniyon and drag his body back to Planet Vegeta. The second option seemed the most likely to succeed, if he wanted to go home, he could not come back empty handed, he could make up whatever story he wanted on how the General perished to make it fit. Besides what chance was there that anyone would believe the truth anyways? While he did not relish what he had to do, there was no choice in the matter, the only question was, how was he going to kill General Oniyon? He could attack him while his back was turned, he wouldn't even see it coming... no... absolutely not, Raddik was not a coward, only a coward with no pride would shoot a warrior in the back. Regardless of who he was now, General Oniyon was still a great warrior and at least deserved to die with dignity. Than again... a third idea did suddenly strike him, maybe, just maybe there was a way to bring the real Oniyon back. If Raddik could figure out what was wrong with the general, what had happened to cause such a change, after all amnesia was not an uncommon thing especially when their pods landed in distress. That is if this was amnesia and not permanent damage, but he wouldn't know that unless he found out what happened.

Raddik looked over at Grisha who was checking out the sign in booth as the young woman signed him up, if he was going to find out the truth of the circumstances which caused this, than he needed to ask the people who seemed to be most familiar with this new version of Oniyon. Which meant he would have to at least try and get close to them, enough that they would talk to him, he was pretty sure Grisha would defend both of them if he tried to harm them. While he did not fear him, Raddik was no fool either, a fight with him would not be an easy victory. Raddik grunted annoyed at the prospect of getting chummy with these weak pitiful creatures, but if there was a chance he could fix whatever was wrong with Oniyon he could return to Planet Vegeta and finally earn the respect he desired. If he was going to do this than he had to make sure not to scare those two, and if it wasn't already painfully obvious these creatures were easily startled, the empty area around him was proof of that. This Grisha seemed to take a shining to him already, that was a start, he would just play off of that and see where it took him. Raddik would make his way to the registration booth as he wrapped his tail back around his waist.

"I wish to sign up as well. Name is Raddick." Raddik would say his name not really caring if he was interrupting Lena or not. Drawing his attention to Grisha he looked up to catch his eyes and spoke: "I guess I will see you out there... brother." There was a distinct coldness to his voice as he walked around Grisha and pushed past Tobias, he would catch the old mans eyes for just a moment, the contempt he held obvious in his glare. "Fighters locker room and wait area is right this way Sir", Raddik was assaulted by a plump little man in an orange costume, his face was pleasant and smiling as he pointed in the direction ahead, he ignored him. Making his way down the tiled path the Saiyan would find himself soon within a room where he supposed the rest of the fighters were gathered. Upon entering he would see a group of... misfits was probably the best word for it, a fat woman, a creature unlike the others, and a couple others he could have cared less about.

Making his way further into the room he pushed past the fat woman as the weirder of the creatures and her seemed to be having some sort of issue. He went towards a more emptier part of the waiting area where he could be alone.

The heart just about leaped out of Hiko’s chest. He had not meant to brush up against this woman with his wingtip. Master Kameina’s voice echoed in his mind, reminding him that he should never touch a woman unless it was to save her life. But right now the frightened pteranodon felt like he was the one who needed saving from the amazonian Sheeban.

“I’m so sorry ma’am! I did not mean to disrespect you by touching you.” Hiko apologized profusely. The giantess grabbed Hiko’s tail and leaned in towards him. The sensation of his tail being clutched by Sheeban was odd. He’d had his tail grabbed before in combat, by opponents who were unaware that it was Hiko’s most powerful appendage. But this felt different, it was awkward and uncomfortable. Yet somehow pleasant, though Hiko couldn’t tell why. As the woman leaned forward, Hiko could see down her chest. He quickly averted his eyes upward, forced to meet her piercing gaze.

Sheeban barked at Hiko about how people like he and her were not like the tinier tournament participants and that they deserved to be eaten. Hiko, was taken aback by this rhetoric that flew in the face of everything he’d been taught by Master Kameina. Her message seemed the exact opposite of the Tsubasan principles of humility and compassion. All this made Hiko unsure about whether he would want to learn from a woman like this. Especially hearing her say that she was a princess, Hiko could only imagine what the frugal and spiritual monks of his temple would say if he knew he was consorting with royalty.

Hiko tried to squeak out a response, “M-my name is H-Hiko Kyoryu, student of Tsubasa Temple…your highness.” He was certain she wanted him to speak louder, but it was the best Hiko could manage with how flustered he was. Plus, he didn’t want to cause an even bigger scene. He could already see curious eyes glaring over at Sheeban and him.

Well it wasn’t much yet but Chanko was fairly sure she would be able to put Hiko on the right path. At the very least he had done a few of the tasks she had told him about. Sheeban had a name to work with alongside the name of his dojo, Tsubasa Temple. Chanko would need to investigate it at some-point if only just to see how much of the basics of sports entertainment that this dinosaur man knew. Some dojos were not as willing to teach the basics of the craft as Satan’s Castle was; and Sheeban needed to know just how much he knew before she eventually contacted one of the other members in the organization to bring Hiko in.

But those thoughts quickly dissipated as she was pushed a bit by a spacer, which definitely wasn’t super elite. Letting go of Hiko’s tail, the monster of a woman let out a snarl as she pointed towards the shorter prey, ”SNNNNURK.” snorted out Sheeban as her nostrils flared,

”YO FREAK! You think you can get away with pushing The Dungeon’s Princess!?” hollered out Sheeban as she clenched her meaty fist and pointed towards Raddik. ”SUCH PITIFUL INSOLENCE SHALL NOT BE TOLERATED IN THE COURT OF SHEEBAN.” Bearing her teeth in a bestial smile Sheeban glared daggers at the space chimp, ”I’ve broken chumps like you for breakfast without breaking a sweat.”

This was followed by yet another scene of braggart flexing of her gigantic muscles ”Unlike you, I am an elegant siege machine built to rule and kill. LOOK AT THESE PYTHONS!” declared Sheeban as she once again showed off her arms before moving into another stretch. With another devious smirk she began waggling her finger, ”As such a noble ruler, I will give you two options. You shall either kneel before my superior presence or – you will be broken piece by piece.”

She held out her left finger before taking her right hand and began to mime pulling it back. ”I think those fingers, those joints will be the first to go.” remarked Sheeban with a devious glee.

Man, Chanko was in the zone today. There were many sources of inspiration to be had and the show had not even begun! Who knew what inspiration the jeering of the crowd would bring!? But that was for the future, the matter here was that of the present.

”Sooooo...” drawled out Sheeban as the giantess gave out a fervent grin bearing her teeth, ”...What is your choice. Choose wisely.

Kin watched the entertainment go on for a bit and when the giant woman went off on the newcomer with a tail, he decided that he should speak up and try and defuse the situation. He took out one of his metal orbs and manipulated it into a ten foot tall and five foot wide barrier of steel that was placed between Sheeban and Raddik. Kin then used his powers to lift himself off of the ground and hovered above them with his arms crossed.

"I think you have said enough for one day. Wait till you're in the ring and try to control your roid rage" he said calmly as he watched the fighters below. He wasn't expecting to be a keeper of the peace, but he was willing to do so if the situation was going to get out of hand. Although the thought did cross his mind that if these two fighters began to tear each other part then that would be two less opponents he would have to deal with in the ring. But Kin wasn't one for hoping that some misfortune befell his competitors and so he just decided that it was best to keep things under control.

"Let's not ruin a great day for the tournament with petty fighting and ego clashing" he stated and was curious to see how the muscle woman would react to him intervening in her tirade at Raddik.

Yang Wuxin
Earthling Human
PL: 910
Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Waiting Area
Tagging: None

Yang started to sigh at first. He wasn't interested in conversing with the two women, but at the same time he was probably too polite to actually refuse them. Thankfully, the choice was taken out his hands when a third woman stormed into the Waiting Area. She bellowed about her imminent victory and carried on with her show-boating. Combined with the woman in the hat suddenly bickering with the second woman, Yang no longer had any need to take part in the conversation. That suited him just fine, and he carried on with his meditation.

With his meditation, Yang attempted an uncommon practice known as Image Training. While meditating, a martial artist could potentially project a vivid image of themselves in their own mind. A pair who could meditate on the same wavelength could even spar against each other within their own minds, but as Yang was alone he settled for exercises and kata training. Within his own mind, he was at the bank of a river at the base of a mighty waterfall. The sound of the crashing waters was vivid in Yang's mind, and his image self stood on the shore, performing the usual warm-up exorcises before going into full katas. His hands and feet struck the air at blinding speeds, as punches or chops or forceful kicks. The katas grew more intense until Yang suddenly ended by swinging his arm in a chop aimed at the direction of the waterfall in the distance. The strike was so forceful, so laden with Ki that it seemed to split the waterfall down the middle, but only temporarily as moments later the two streams fused back together into one.

Yang wasn't completely unaware of his physical surroundings during all of this. He was instinctively able to sense the arrival of a handful of others, including a particularly interesting fighter that went into a meditation of their own. Yang wondered if the Pterodactyl was also familiar with Image Training, but chose not to ask in order to avoid breaking the focus of his meditation. But it would only be normal meditation, as Image Training often came with the caveat of being mentally exhausting and Yang didn't want to overdo it before the tournament could even begin.

Unit 05b
Android
PL: 910
Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Waiting Area
Tag: N/A - Open

Unit 5b had quickly grown lost, though she had understood that the large, strange woman had told her off and had gone on to do many things that did not seem efficient with the time up to the tournament. Instead, 5b backed away and instead chose to sit down and perform a routine diagnostic test, though not out of necessity. She instead chose to do the test in an effort to block out the distractions and oddities that the organics decided to impose on one another, finding it to be useless in her goal of obtaining the zenni to upgrade herself. At least not that she was focusing on diagnostics she could get rid of that distractions.

To the outside world, she would look to be meditating, in a tranquil state of peace. However, in her head there was an orderly amount of information flowing through her central processor, making sure that everything was where it was supposed to be and that everything was doing what it was needed to do. Granted, this maintenance would not take much time as her analytical nature was able to quickly go through and sort the information as needed, certainly faster than any organic could. Yet, as she was categorizing information from her legs, unwanted information managed to storm into the inner recesses of her mind.

”Pathetic. If Nanos really wanted to destroy me, he would have made something that at least stand evenly to me,” a familiar voice chastised her creator. Her mind had begun to replay the audio from the encounter she had with 5a.

”I will not destroy you, not yet. I want to see Nanos suffer even further, I want him to know that his efforts mean nothing and that he cannot undo me,” 5a stated, anger clearly driving the voice that tormented 5b.

Her eyes opened once more, her hands had gripped her seat and bent the metal between her fingers ever slightly. 5b would not allow herself to fail again, this she had set into her mind, but she had to continue moving forward in order to overcome 5a or else she allow the corrupted AI to succeed in destroying Dr. Nanos. At least now she knew what ambition felt like, or what she could conclude to be ambition. She also knew what anger was, knowing that it would drive her to be irrational and merciless like it did with the organics. However, she knew that the feeling would pass so long as she did not focus on 5a.

She focused her eyes in front of her, instead looking down at the floor and trying to align her thoughts elsewhere.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Raddik stopped walked as his face became contorted in a look of bemusement and of anger. These creatures were testing his patience, something of which was a bad idea. The large woman would continue to goad him, threaten him, and carry on her charade of of being powerful enough to hurt him if he did not submit to her will. Raddik turned on his heels when she gave him an ultimatum to either submit or be destroyed, he grunted as he walked back to the hulking woman and glared up at her, his eye's cold. Raddik would rise off his feet an levitate into the air as he came face level with the fat behemoth and glared into her eyes as he crossed his arm in an almost defiant manner and spoke gruffly: "I choose option C." His words were short as he offered another option and before she could do anything his tail unfurled from his waste and slammed into the side of her face with a thick *Whack!* the fat woman's face dented in as she was thrown back from the force of the blow and struck the ground pretty hard on her back. Raddik would let off a scoff as he lowered himself back down to ground level, his feet touching the ground. The fat woman would get shakily back to her feet, the rage in her eye's very apparent, a black mark on her face from the blow. She bellowed in rage and would go for Raddik whom just stood motionless at the charging woman, out of nowhere however, a wall of metal would appear between them blocking the woman from Raddik. There would be an almost comical thump as the woman hit it angrily, Raddik would draw his attention to a younger looking creature above them.

`Hmmmm` Raddik looked between the wall and the boy hovering in the air as he was slightly intrigued. He was controlling this wall it seemed, and he knew how to levitate, he seemed almost like he was a step above the big mouthed woman. Letting his anger simmer down the Saiyan would lift himself off the ground and up to the boys level, his attention no longer on the pathetic woman below. "Tell me, what is your name boy?" Raddik asked the question with sincerity even if it came out more like a demand than an actual question.

Race: Human
Time/Day Day 1, Morning
Location: Waiting Room
Tagging: @The Abyss

A mere monkey tail from a non-elite spacer, was not nearly enough force to do any damage whatsoever to Sheeban. She trained under true elites, professional fighters who devoted their craft to making the craft entertaining. And as such, even with this pitiful performer she felt it was best to oblige. After all, this was the lessons her dojo taught. While the impact from the tail was not near enough to cause such an impact, Sheeban lunged back of her own will and took a bump on the ground below.

It was a loud thud, but it was still a simple back-bump. As she was down, Sheeban did a series of standard side rolls as she reached one of her containers of mascara. Due to the fact she had made such an exaggerated moment, it would be key to make the people out there believe that this fighter managed to do the blow, even though they did not. With both of her hands Sheeban began applying large amounts of mascara around her eye to give it the impression that it was bruising. Of course as she was doing this she was rolling around yelping out in entertaining yelps of pain and rolling around to distract from the actual application. After all sleight of hand was necessary in these sorts of things.

Once she applied the make-up on, Sheeban slowly began to get up. It was a matter of appearance, she dramatically pointed up towards the spacer as she was taking in over-heaving breaths. Was it a perhaps much? Probably, but some of the most entertaining aspects of the world of fight were built on great illusions.

"H-HEY!" Sheeban dramatically shouted up towards the monkey as she began flourishing with her left hand. It was going around and around in a circular motion before being cupped against her ears. "Didn't hear no bell. CAUSE LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING BROTHER!" Sheeban eagerly declared as she thrust her right arm outstretched right, with her left arm in a fist down near her stomach.

"Being big isn't about taking cheap shots! It's about setting an example to the small! It's an example I set in day in and day out - and I don't ever plan on quitting! Some might not like the message, yeah, I'm the Dungeon's Princess! But I ain't no cheap-shot, small-talkin' jackaboot thug! I DELIVER THE BIG MESSAGE, THE BIG PICTURE! THE FIGHT I FIGHT IS A NEVER-ENDING QUEST TO EMBOLDEN AND EMBIGGEN THOSE THAT NEED TO THRIVE!" She raised both of her hands up and began doing a set of poses, "Cause the world is a large place, full of those big and small. And people need a big message, a big thing to get behind. I don't want people to think tiny, I want them to think big! I want them to go large and in charge without any concerns of small-thinking; that's what prey does. And lemme tell you, the predators who are behind with a big message and dream will always triumph those who think too small!"

Paw-Paw Kenji
Tournament Announcer and Current World Champion
Location: Tournament Arena Announcer's Table
Tag: @Lauder@Slingshot@Double@The Abyss@Weird Tales

Trumpets blared into the air, announcing the beginning of the World Martial Arts tournament. At the center of the arena, a file of colorful kimono-wearing performers marched onto the tournament floor, waving giant feathered fans of various colors. They marched into a circle and faced the crowds as they continued to dance. Many of the performers were famous models. Being escorted onto the stage was a young girl whose theme was blue. She had blue long flowing pony tails, a blue skirt that stopped short about her thighs, and doll baby shoes. The fan boys and girls—to include pervs—were going wild, screaming her name before she reached the center of the stage.

AYUMI~!

I LOVE YOU AYUMI!

The girl smiled brightly at her fans, giving them an exuberant wave. As soon as she reached the center of the stage, her escort presented her with a microphone.

“Everyone! HELLO~!” she happily greeted.

The crowd practically exploded in response. Painted poster boards with hearts all over waved about in the stands.

“Are you ready to fight?” she asked with a musical giggle.

The crowd roared again in excitement and Ayumi started to sing:

While the crowd was being entertained by famous Central Capital singer Ayumi, Paw-Paw Kenji was gnawing and drooling over his announcer microphone until one of the staff members walked over and quietly whispered, “Uh…Master Kenji. It’s your turn to open the tournament.”

Paw-Paw blinked his big, brown bulging eyes and released the microphone as he sat back in his boosted chair. A strand of drool extended from the mic to his mouth as he blinked one eye and then the other. The staffer stared blankly until suddenly, Paw-Paw abruptly exclaimed: “WELCOME!”

The staffer jumped in startle and flailed his arms as he fell off the stage.

“Welcome to the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament! Ruff! Ruff-ruff-r-r-ruff! Arf!” Paw-Paw shouted. “Opening today’s tournament ceremony is Shizuma Ayumi herself! While she enraptures everyone, we will go ahead and toss onto the jumbotron our first preliminary match ups! THAT’S RIGHT! If you didn’t sign up, registration is now closed! Ruff-ruff-ARF!”

“There’s a long day ahead of us folks, but as long as the beer is flowing and the concessions hot, we’ll make it. Ruff! I can’t wait to see who will come out on top and try to take my title!”

Character Name: Hiko Kyoryu

Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Fighter Waiting Room

Hiko slipped away from the commotion in the locker room to check out the opening ceremonies. He was amazed by the spectacle of it all. A knot began to form in Hiko’s stomach, he was beginning to feel anxious. It just started to hit him how big a deal this tournament really was. Here he was, a kid from a quite mountain temple, preparing to fight against the greatest fighters this world had to offer. Maybe he was in way over his head, but he knew it would bring great shame to the Tsubasa Temple for him to back out now. At least they didn’t have television back at the temple, so he didn’t have to worry about them watching him lose.

Paw-Paw Kenji, the reigning Tenkaichi Budokai champion, announced the fights and displayed the tournament tree on the jumbotron. Hiko scanned the enormous screen until he came across his picture, and beneath his was Beryl Bloodstone on the other side of the bracket. He recognized her as the brightly dressed witch he spotted in the fighter waiting room. She didn’t seem like much a fighter to him, so maybe he had it a bit easier this first round. Hiko thought that perhaps if he made it to at least the second round he could try to take some pride in that.

Walking back to the locker room Hiko found a different place for him to relax while he waited for his fight to be called. From the bench he was sitting on he could see Beryl trying to sell another fighter some trinket. Hiko was confused, was she not going to prepare for her fight? No changing into proper martial arts attire, no meditating, no stretching? Hiko thought that perhaps she was just that confident in her ability to win. Reflecting on it, he was pretty sure Beryl was the only magic user in the tournament. That put her at an advantage because she had skills that nobody else in the tournament possesed.

That was the one major flaw with Hiko’s training. All his life, outside of the occasional bandit and wild animals, Hiko had only fought other Tsubasan monks. All Hiko knew was fighting people who practiced the same martial arts as he did. While each fighter was unique in their own way, each monk still followed the same disciplines. Hiko had certainly never dealt with a magic user, or a wrestler, or even monks from different temples. This tournament was bound to be a learning experience for Hiko, so even if he didn’t win he’d still get something of value from participating. He wasn’t quite sure how to even prepare for his fight against the witch, as he had no idea what to expect. So Hiko prepared how he usually did and began meditating to clear his mind before his match began.

Yang Wuxin
Earthling Human
PL: 910
Time/Date: Day 1, Morning
Location: Waiting Area and Ring
Tagging: @Holy Soldier

The trumpets called Yang out of his meditation. It was time, the Tournament was about to start. Before he knew it, Yang found himself surrounded by competitors in the Waiting Area. Each and every one likely the best in their particular field of fighting, and each one would have to be obstacles for him to overcome if he was to push himself through the bracket. That suited Yang just fine, nothing like a gauntlet of matches to really test one's stamina and endurance, or creativity if they were forced to use up their trump cards early on by worthy opponents. It was as if the Tournament itself was in its own way a form of training for Yang to take part in, and the young man would be liar if he claimed didn't relish the thought of that prospect.

A girl and her band took to the ring first, treating the audience to an introductory song to kick off the tournament events. A song about being called by destiny, seemed an almost auspicious choice. Then again, a Tournament of this caliber held only once every three years perhaps warranted such a grandiose choice of songs to sound its beginning. When the song ended, the bracket was officially announced for all to see and Yang was quick to spot his own name and the name of his first opponent, a woman named Trish. Well, he hadn't heard her say or do anything throughout the waiting time unlike that Sheeban woman so perhaps she would be a more respectable sort? One could only hope.

At once the competitors were led off to the secondary rings for their preliminary matches. It was at his designated ring that Yang finally came face to face with the woman named Trish. A good-mannered martial artist, Yang approached his opponent peacefully and offered a bow of greeting, "Seems we'll fighting first. Best of luck to you." Just because Yang was here to fight and perhaps even win, that didn't mean he had to go around being a jerk about it after all. No matter who his opponents were, they at least deserved the common courtesy of good sportsmanship and a proper introduction, "I am Yang of the Crane School, and I thank you for the honor of this fight!"

Hiko stood by the entrance to the ring, wrapping his hands in bandages. It was almost his time to fight, his meditating had helped him to calm down. He noticed Beryl Bloodstone walk up beside him. “Hi there Beryl, I look forward to our match!” Hiko enthused, extending a friendly hand to the pink-haired witch. But Beryl ignored his greeting, staring straight ahead out at the ring with a serious expression on her face. Hiko just withdrew his hand, taking the hint.

“Ladies and gentleman, let’s kick off the Tenkaichi Budokai with our first match of the day! Ruff!” Announced Paw-Paw, with all the enthusiasm of a natural born performer. The crowd roared with applause, eager for action. “Our first contender is a beautiful young witch from West City who is a master of spellcraft. Please welcome the mistress of the magical arts, Beryl Bloodstone!”

Beryl’s demeanor suddenly changed as she made her way out to the stage. She plastered an infectious smile on her face and walked out with her arms in the air. She stood in the center of the ring and basked in the applause, winking and blowing kisses to the crowd. This was all apart of the show to Beryl, she was getting the crowd to fall in love with her. Surely putting on a good performance at this tournament would help her drum up business and make some money.

“Next to the stage is her contender. Ruff! A sight never before seen here or anywhere else for that matter! This young man hails from the Tsubasa Temple, a skilled monk in training. But what’s more is that he’s a pterodactyl! This pint-sized pteranodon pugilist packs quite a powerful punch. Give it up for Hiko “Ivory Wings” Kyoryu! The crowd erupted in cheering as Hiko walked into the ring. He wasn’t expecting such a lively applause for him, but he figured everyone was just so excited for the fights to start they didn’t care who was in the ring.

Hiko and Beryl stood roughly ten feet from each other with Paw-Paw in the middle. “Alright fighters, the rules have already been explained to you. So I expect a good, clean match. When I say ‘fight’ the match will begin.” Paw-paw stepped back from the fighters to avoid catching any punches should they launch at each other once the match started. “Ready, Fight!”

Rather than jump right out and attack Hiko did as he was always trained to do, he clasped his hands together and bowed toward his opponent as a sign of respect. Obviously he expected the same in return, but Beryl had other ideas. Seeing her opportunity to strike she disappeared in a flash of neon green light and teleported to Hiko’s left side, delivering a powerful kick to the side of his face.

Hiko was taken aback by this cheap shot. He looked to his left but noticed a green flash from his right, followed by a fist that barreled into his other cheek. He quickly shook off the blow, her attacks weren’t particularly powerful, but if he let her keep this up they’d start to wear on Hiko. He swung towards where Beryl was but she disappeared again. This time Hiko didn’t see where she went, not before he felt her boots digging into his back. He thought about turning around to grab her, but he had another plan for her.

Hiko braced his entire body for her next attack, which came as she appeared in front of him again for a gut shot. Her fist barely caused a ripple in Hiko’s stomach. This time the mighty pterodactyl grabbed the young witch by her arm. He wanted to end this match quickly, so he decided to use the tournaments rules to his advantage. With a great yank he tossed Beryl across the ring and towards the grass on the outside. She had almost hit the ground too before she yet again vanished and reappeared back in the center of the ring, this time a good distance away from Hiko.

He figured Beryl was likely trying to reevaluate her gameplan. Hiko didn’t know what other tricks she had up her sleeves, but he’d have to be ready for anything. He didn’t want to give her enough time to think, so with a mighty flap of his wings he lifted himself off the ground a began zooming towards his mystical opponent. He readied his fist to hit her with a powerful blow. He didn’t want to hurt such a fragile girl, but he couldn’t risk her pulling out some trick that could cause him to lose this fight. As Hiko flew through the air he abruptly stopped. But not of his own will! He couldn’t move, he was completely immobilized! He looked at Beryl and noticed her eyes were glowing with a violet light and her palms were outstretched towards him. Was this one of her spells?

The purple glow in Beryl’s eyes flashed as she let out a powerful yell and sent Hiko flying backwards. The startled beastman quickly slammed his claws down into the ring and began scraping along the concrete to keep from being thrown out of the ring. His momentum began to slow, he just prayed to Tsubasa that it would be enough.

Beryl was beginning to struggle, this pterodactyl had be the heaviest thing she had ever lifted with her telekinesis. It was a strain on her mind and body and she couldn’t keep it up much longer. Eventually she had to release the spell and Hiko flopped to the ground. She had exhausted two of her three spells and was running out of surprises for her formidable foe. But she still had one more tactic to try, as underhanded as it might be.

Waiting for Hiko to get back to his feet, the mystical woman once again teleported and appeared directly in front of him. This time, Hiko was quick react and walloped the witch with a powerful left cross to her jaw. She fell to the ground immediately and Hiko started to go to the ground to finish her off. But then he noticed something odd. Was she crying? He looked at Beryl and saw tears streaming down her face.

“You big meany! How could you punch a lady like that!?” Beryl cried out loud enough for the whole audience to hear.

Suddenly Hiko began to hear booing from the stands. He looked around in bewilderment, taken aback that the audience had suddenly turned on him. Though it was mostly the men doing all the boing. Did he do something wrong? Wasn’t this supposed to be a fighting tournament? He looked back down at Beryl who’s eyes were now glowing a bright orange color.

Beryl focused on Hiko intensely, staring him straight in the eyes. “Now sleep you overgrown bird!”

Hiko’s eyes took on the same orange glow as Beryl’s and began to close. His body lost all tension and soon enough he slumped to the ground, fast asleep. Beryl stood to her feet and towered over her unconscious opponent with a victorious smirk on her face.

“What’s this? It would appear as though Hiko has fallen asleep? Well, if he’s not up within the count of ten then this match is over for him!” Announced Paw-Paw as he began his countdown. “Ten, nine, eight…”

Beryl chuckled to herself. She knew this musclehead wasn’t getting up anytime soon. Her magic was too powerful, he was probably going to be out cold for a few hours. He definitely wasn’t waking up in the next ten seconds.

“...seven, six…”

The audience gazed on with silent anticipation. Everyone eager to see if this was really the end of the fight.

“...five, four, three…”

Suddenly, Hiko’s claw reached out and grabbed Beryl’s ankle. Paw-Paw stopped his countdown short as Hiko leapt to his feet, causing the witch to land flat on her face.

“Don’t be foolish…” Said Hiko, as he sat himself down on Beryl’s back and began pulling on her leg. “...I’ve spent my entire life training my mind. It’s the most powerful muscle in my body!” He kept putting more and more tension on her leg with his arms, careful to just pull enough to cause her excruciating pain. “I’d never fall prey to such simple trick.”

The pain in Beryl’s leg was unbearable, this was undoubtedly the most physical torment she had been put through. She tried to hold on and think of a way out of this. But the pain was so great that she couldn’t even focus enough to teleport out of the monsters grasp. Her head was beginning to get dizzy and she felt like she was going to vomit. Finally she slapped the ground vigorously. “Ok, I give up! I give up! Just let me go you big lummox!” She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Hiko released his grip and stood up victoriously over his defeated opponent. Suddenly he noticed that Paw-Paw had grabbed his palm and was now thrusting it into the air.

“Ladies and gentleman, your winner by submission, Hiko “Ivory Wings” Kyoryu!”

The stadium erupted with thunderous applause. Even the men who had been booing him earlier were now cheering and chanting his name. They certainly showed no favorites. Once Paw-Paw released his grip from Hiko, the fighter turned around to offer his opponent some help up and congratulate her on a good match. But Beryl had already gotten up and was limping away on her damaged leg with her head held low.

“Hiko will advance to the second round of the tournament. We look forward to your next fight!” The audience applause continued as Hiko walked out of the ring and back to the waiting area. He was almost in shock, not believing that he had actually won his first fight in the tournament. Maybe, just maybe, he could make it all the way.

Trish Redstone
(Click for Full Body shot)
The Crimson Champion
Location: Arena
Tagging: @Double

Skills
  • Acrobatics: The Crimson Champion has an inhuman level of strength that allows her to throw her body weight effortlessly around. She can perform some airborne acrobatics, kicks, and quick springing recoveries. She cannot fly however.
  • Flexibility: Submissions would be difficult to perform on one so flexible. She can bend her body into pretzel shapes and dislocate her arms from her shoulders and rejoin them, making her quite the escape artist.
  • Inhuman Strength: The Crimson Champion is stronger than the average human. It is believed she once picked up a small compact car to save a victim trapped under it. Her fighting style is very brawler because of this. Her punches and kicks are powerful with most of her energy stored into each attempted strike.

GM Permissions: Player is free to narrate this match until its conclusion.

A red blur approached the stage, executing a series of handsprings. She landed on her hands before the concrete stage, facing the slab of compound mineral components as her legs slowly bent forty-five degrees. Her red-painted lips cocked into a smirk before her elbows bent and legs lowered before, in a springing motion, she hopped from the grassy ground up to the stage. Still hand-standing, her feet lowered to the ground. Her head was in between her legs to showoff her flexibility before her body rose out of its curled position to face her opponent.

“Woah, that flexibility arf!” Kenji exclaimed. “We have here, Trish Redstone, a well-known vigilante around Central Capital. She fights crime and she also fights for fun, ruff!”

The red-head marched over to Yang, her crimson pony-tail swaying behind her. She stopped before who she assumed was a monk of some sort from his clothes and shaved scalp. He greeted her and bowed:

Seems we’ll be fighting first. Best of luck to you…I am Yang of the Crane School, and I thank you for the honor of this fight!

Trish held up a clenched fist before the monk and exuberantly declared, “Yang of the Crane School, I shall remember this name. I~!” She crouched, her right arm going vertically into the air and left arm parallel to the ground to her left. She then turned her forearms inward until her fingertips were touching, making for a comical display. She gazed at him through her sanguine-goggles, and through the gap between her arms. “-am the Crimson Champion of Central Capital! I fight crime and triumph over the forces of evil. May this battle be a valiant one, and may the Crimson Gods smile favorably upon us!”

Her face tucked into the crook of her arm as her left arm unfurled in what was called a dab among the hip kids now days. Kids holding her action figures cheered, while audience members cheered simply for the entertainment.

“Yang Wuxin of the Crane School, we hope you’re ready for this! Ruff! Will the vigilante topple the monk, we’ll see in just a moment folks (frankly, my money is on the monk, woof)!”
