Hiko had just begun to enter into a state of deep meditation when his concentration was suddenly broken by a sharp jab in his side. He opened his eyes to see the large beauty he’d been admiring earlier was now prodding his ribcage. Hiko’s face flushed with blood as he became suddenly embarrassed. It wasn’t often that girls talked to him, let alone touched him. He stared up at her, trying his hardest to look only at her face, lest he bring shame upon himself and her. However, the fiery intenseness in the giantess’ eyes made Hiko even more uncomfortable.
He was confused by the large woman, who he had heard earlier call herself Sheeban. She seemed to have a problem with Hiko’s white skin and seemed to be confused that he had gills instead of lungs. Did she perhaps mistake him for a fish? Sheeban went on chastise Hiko for acting meekly, and demanded a war-cry from him. Hiko wasn’t sure why she was so concerned with his demeanor.
Hiko responded to the woman, his voice coming out more quiet and reserved then he meant it to. “I apologize if my pale complexion is upsetting to you, but I am unable to change it. I also must correct you, I am not a sea creature and have lungs rather than gills.” Hiko unfurled his wings slightly, as if to help illustrate to the confused woman that he was not from the ocean. “As for a war-cry, I’m afraid that such behavior would be uncouth for a monk such as myself.”
Hiko hoped this answer would suffice. Every moment around Sheeban made him uncomfortable, and he desperately wanted to be out of her presence. He even retracted his earlier desire to face her in combat. This woman made Hiko have feelings he’d never had before, and he noticed his tail uncurling and stiffening up. He would have to pray vigorously to Lord Tsubasa later to apologize for his weakness.
