@13org I think the black's not got enough contrast.

Materials required for a (proper) summoning: draw a circle. Know the words. Be magic. In a normal Grail War, the Grail does the picking and heavy lifting.

So something else is probably doing most of it here, too.

Catalysts specify a Servant(and in the case of Assassin for a traditional Holy Grail War can overwrite the Class being a catalyst for Hassans), but if you don't have a Catalyst you'll get a good match for your personality.

For example, if Rin had pulled off her summoning perfectly and there weren't certain other circumstances in play she likely would have gotten Arturia because they synch up incredibly well.

In all likelihood, I imagine that affinity summoning is the norm, rather than the exception in this context. Since it wouldn't make much sense to try to force the hand of fate if you aren't like a super fan of a certain specific legendary figure, or have a relationship with them in some way.

Like say, Bazett and Cu.

For people who aren't that close to a specific Servant, letting fate roll the dice s likely the most sane choice.

Which, now that I think about it... did Hinami summon Gil just because she's an old lady? Hmm...

I can almost listen to the whimpers of a certain dog who's said to have the greatest compatibility with Rin in the corners of the Nasuverse.

Thanks for all the replies. A circle and knowing the magic words should work then, right? Even if Hye has a certain condition that makes it impossible for him to use spells other than some very specific and specialized ones, he still has high quality magic circuits (average amount being 20 according to the wiki). It would probably be enough to perform the ritual, right?

James Moriarity
Sherlock Holmes
Hundred Faces
Or Ibaraki, since precious smol oni.

Though of those Holmes may need some modification since he's a Ruler in FGO, rather than Caster. Unless that's fine. And I'm guessing Grands, like Grand Assassin, may not be summonable?
