What kind of character is everyone thinking of? Maybe we could brainstorm while we wait.

Making a senju with wood release!

They're gonna have poor chakra control. Most likely a focus on immediate take down as opposed to long, drawn out fights. They're going to be in love with the idea of making a bunch of jutsu but its gonna be hard when they can't actually manipulate their chakra very well and are limited to just wood, earth, and water.

I'm making a falconer. Kinda like an Inuzuka but with a bird instead of a dog. He's gonna be wind-chakra based, and I think personalty wise, since they're starting young, I'll make him overly serious and a bit condescending. Give him plenty of room to grow in that regard. However, I think I also wanna make him super-shy around girls.

I decided on the wood release, as opposed to the very geometric yamato and the very imposing trees of hashirama, my character's tree (he can only grow one at the moment, and not a very big one at that for reasons to be explained in the to) is gonna look like

That's a pretty cool tree. Wouldn't complain about that one. Haha.

I kinda wanted to do a kid from the Inuzuka clan. A girl who is bouncy and kinda oblivious to things ._.

I've been re-reading parts of Naruto, so this is interesting to me. I'd have to see what kind of characters are allowed - I have a few ideas. Obviously a powerful jounin type character wouldn't be good if we're all genin, for instance :-P I also have an idea for a genin though too, so it's not like I'd have to be a jounin.

Anyway, hope to see this progress - it'd be fun to do a Naruto universe RP!

@ZapdosWell, you could always begin with the genin version of your jounin idea. It's fun to make the characters grow.

I had to DM the GMs about my character idea, they're super dope so just hit them with your idea, but I doubt an inuzuka will cause problems

The major issue I'd have with that is that the Uzumaki bloodline is already hecking powerful because of their canonical 'near limitless chakra.' Mixing that with the canonically also absurd Uchiha stuff which is only limited by how much chakra is required is like giving a nuke to somebody with the ability to chuck it across state lines. It'd have to be one of those "You gotta discuss it with us" things, simply because it's one of those things that is prone to being abused.

Well, now that you mention it, I do plan to have my char gimped right from the start. Namely, the poor Uzumaki-Sharingan girl would have no capability of learning any ninjutsu whatsoever (which is ironic since she'll have almost no access to sealing jutsus, which the Uzumaki clan's supposed to be known for). This in turn would mean she'd mostly have to rely on taijutsu to actually do any damage and genjutsu to help her close in for the kill. That, combined with the fact that we're dealing with Genins, should knock Uzumaki-Sharigan down enough pegs to keep her balanced for now, and if there're any more bumps on the road, I'll try to smooth nthem out when I get to them.

Been a while since I've looked at naruto to be honest, but I suppose I have a predilection to playing Uchiha or a Hyuga, however this is with full awareness of that both ocular jutsu have their strengths especially on a Genin when not taken care of. Byakugon at least stayed at a relative strength level as seen in Shippuden to where even super fast Lee couldn't beat Neji since it's not just 360 view but also that would mean Neji could still react to and fight off Lee in a spar. Where as with what happens to Sharingan.... shippuden made it a bit ridiculous and I dislike it from that forward. I like the base Naruto level of coolness and ability it gave with learning etc but I also like to remember that it's not supposed to be common for Uchiha to acquire originally even themselves, even without Sharingan I like the Uchiha has a clan I suppose from the firejutsu available and their place in the village before they were all killed.

We never did get to see Sharingan vs Byakugon in a real good sense, kinda sad since I think that would have been an interesting fight especially if it was like Sasuke vs Neji in the chuunin exams. That would have given us a far better relative strength of what were relatively normal Kekkai Genkai in terms of strength at the time.

I think when I was in one before I ran like a Sarutobi once which is pretty much a 'normal' clan without much special.

Edit: I also think the whole 'curse of hatred thing' is silly... Sasuke got WAY to edgy for me which is sad since I liked how he fought along with people like neji, Rock Lee in terms of how 'fun' it was.

Yeah pretty much how I see them as well in terms of level, to me Byakugon is as strong as perception but the fact that Byakugon enables a specialized taijutsu and chakra style with their ability to use their chakra release points better than normal ninja while uchiha had Genjutsu Trickery and copy ability versatility in their kit, both practically reading movements.

Also I agree, them eyes are great looking which is 50% why i think You, I, and most people actually like them so much.

My concept would have the character starting out as an Academy Student, with the character development aimed at the Genin Exam and becoming a Genin. Other than that, Nara Clan (originally from Bamboo Village), desiring to become a Medical-nin.

I think that they are planning to have everyone start out as a Genin.

Easy enough to adjust if that's the case.

I wasn't sure where on the spectrum that would involve (becoming Genin versus preparing to take the Chunin exams).

@Zora I'm interested. Are you open to having jonins for team leaders, or are those spots taken already? I have a few concepts laying around that I could throw at you. If not, I'm more than happy playing a genin of course. It'd just save me the trouble of re-working those concepts :).

@Raging Fenrir Not a bad thought. It just comes down to which of my ideas I think is the most fun to RP as. Also if stuff like ninja tech from the new series exists or not (if it matters, my vote is no just because it seems kinda OP, but that's just my opinion).

We'll learn more once the OOC is up, I'm sure.
