Desdemona Pemberton

Location: Crystal RiveSchool For Troubled Youth - Courtyard

Mona narrowly missed having a locker hit her. She would have stopped to face the assailant, but she was still wrapping her mind around the news the gym teacher just shared. Demigods? There was no possible way. "Look, I'll grant you that cyclops exist since one just threw a fucking locker at me, but I refuse to believe my parents were gods of any sort. If that were the case, then wouldn't we have powers of some sort? Also, why did they give us up? Surely the children of gods would be revered?"

She continued to run, but even in her own heart, she knew that all of this was true. She never knew her birth parents. Only what her adoptive ones spoke briefly on them. "Do my adoptive parents know? Oh, and on the subject, how the hell do we stop these ugly bastards from trying to eat us?"

Arthur Stanford

Arthur's eyes widened a bit at the term "half blood". It sounded almost like a slur one would hear in the back country. He opened his mouth for a moment, about to rebuff the very notion at the face of it, but then again, things were rather wild at the moment. That wasn't enough to make him change religions with a few words, but hey, maybe now wasn't the time to be rejecting such ideas out off hand. Now wasn't the time though, now was the time to focus on staying alive, and not getting eaten. That was far too gruesome of a death for him, and he would do everything he could to prevent it from happening.

In that vein, the rest of what Hedge was saying made a good deal of sense. He was offering them a way to stay alive, and that made him the most important thing to Arthur in the world right now. Stuck close, and shut up, and hopefully he'd come out with his head still attached to his shoulders. He quietly nodded his head, ready to follow any and all orders laid out to him to the best of his abilities. Even if Coach Hedge was somehow like these beasts, he was at least leading them away, and seemed to be much more friendly. He felt like he could trust him, for now at least.

Marygold Isley

Location: Dining Pavilion

"True... They might..." she said, nodding her head at Eva's words. That definitely was something she might go and do a little later, would be better than sitting around doing nothing after all. She fell silent, finishing up her own food, not too sure what she was going to do now. It could be a good time for her to go talk to a few of the other counselors, since a lot of people were currently in the Dining Pavilion. When she suddenly heard her friend call out to her, and she had to duck slightly to try and dodge the food that had been thrown at her.

"Hey there Leda," Mary said with a slight wave, smiling at her friend, before she heard Chiron's voice as he spoke to the entire room. They needed volunteers to go out and help at some school. That certainly was an interesting sort of task, having to deal with monsters and the like, who knew what could happen out there, though the idea of leaving camp even for a little while was a good one. She was a little hesitant to volunteer, as currently only one person has so far, but after a moment, she raised her hand, volunteering to go as well. It definitely was going to be a bit of an adventure.

@Morose@BlueSky44@KazAlkemi Chiron looked up between Zeke as well as Marygold as well seeing that the two of them had raised their hands, as he looked over towards Leda for a moment when she chucked her plate at Mary for some reason. Which made him raise an eyebrow towards her, but shrugged it off for the moment. "Thank you Mary, and Zeke." He said, as he looked over towards Leda as well for a moment. "You are welcome to go as well if you chose to." He said towards her. "Or if someone else would like to go you are welcome to, I believe one of the Hephaestus children has something set up for you to get to the location rather quickly. The school is called Crystal River School, For Troubled Youth, in Granite Falls North Carolina, you should get geared up and ready to go in an hours time."

Kristin looked over towards Zeke for a moment when he tried to get her to on the quest as well, she bit her bottom lip for a moment as she wondered if she wanted to go with them as well for a moment. Then her attention turned towards the front as Chiron started to speak about the quest of the four half-bloods that were there. She was about to stand up as well, when Marygold volunteered to go as well just after Leda had tossed her plate at her. She then turned to look over at Zeke, usually the first person to accept the quest was the lucky one to pick who could go which was one person left.

"It's up to you, since your the first volunteer you get to lead and pick the last person to go with you, the quest is yours." Kristin said calmly, she would certainly like to be the one to go. Usually it was always just three people could go on a quest, if there was more than three then the quest could be a bit dangerous to go as well and draw more monsters since they all had a scent monsters were attracted to. But if he wanted four people to go it was Zeke's choice as well.

Kiera was starting to hold her sides and was breathing heavily as she tried to run for her life, she really did hate running especially when Hedge was coaching them in gym class. "I really hate running.." Kiera said as she looked towards Mona when she asked her question and then turned towards Hedge as he had no issue going down the flight of stairs like a mountain goat. "Yeah wouldn't we have known who our parent, or parents were?" She asked, as she started going down the flight of stairs. Roman's gang of cyclopes were still following them, as Roman held the ball of paper that Ash had thrown at him earlier.

"A ball of paper wont stop us from eating you and using your bones as toothpicks!" Roman yelled from where he was, everyone was a good floor lower now, Hedge turned to look at the kids who were running with him, they were starting to get annoying asking all of these questions while they were trying to not get eaten by cyclopes. "Old laws and stuff, prevent your ma and pa from interfering with mortal shit, so that means you guys especially. As for who they are I dunno until we get you to camp." Hedge said, as soon as they were at the lower floor, which was the back enterance to the school and held it open for them. "And as for what kills em, celestial bronze or just outright crushing their bodies."

Athanasia Theroux

Location Courtyard of CRS

Athanasia gave Kiera a cheeky, if shaky, smile that didn't reach her dark eyes. In truth, the young girl was quite worried for her comrade and friend. Despite the age difference, Kiera was a very trustworthy and honestly kind individual. "Well, it's running or having to deal with Roman." Athanasia bolted through the door and out of the school. It did make sense that her mother wouldn't tell her, despite her constant insistence to know everything. At the end of the day Athanasia was well aware she was merely ten, and short. Useful only in her charms and wit for the time being. If her mother had withheld it, it was for her own good. Though she did suspect that 'own good' was the matter up for debate.

"You'll choke on my bones! While I haunt you with my friends!" Athanasia retorted as Roman mocked her paper ball. "And that is a very dangerous paper ball! You must never read it, oh la! You can't read! You're too dumb!" A wicked look entered Athanasia's dark eyes as she smirked slightly as she gasped for air. Her teddy-bear backpack thumping against her back giving Roman an annoyed look with it's threaded eyes. It had always been easier to carry her supplies and the added benefit of being the spy of her little revolution. Read that as 'teacher's pet that is secretly plotting evil'. "You can always prove me wrong. Kiss, kiss." Athanasia invited the Cyclops, after all Roman hadn't always been known for being the brightest bulb. Plus she was getting tired, but bless Hedge for those horrid gym classes. They were finally paying off it seemed.

Ezekiel Kel

Location:Dining Pavilion -- Camp Half-Blood

Ezekiel heard, rather than saw Marygold stand up. He looked back at her and couldn’t quite decide if he was happy she was coming or annoyed. She smelled like strawberries. All. The. Time. He was already getting a headache. He blew out a breath and looked back at Chiron, waiting for a third to volunteer when Kristen spoke up. He grinned but it disappeared when she pointed out he was the first to volunteer and now in charge. It felt like deja-vu all over again and Ezekiel wasn’t sure how he felt about that after the first time.
”Well, stand up and collect your prize,” he said. It would be nice to have someone he had worked with and who knew how he worked as well. Traditionally it was only three who went on a quest, anymore than that then it would get overwhelming to work with so many and the monsters would have a hay-day with so many demi-gods in one place. Not to mention the fact that they were going to rescue demi-gods in the first place but maybe speed would be what they needed.
"Leda, you want in? You can't throw food though, unless we need the distraction."

Mona continued to listen, still unbelieving she was anything more than a human. And yet, the ugly things chasing them was proof enough of something weird going on. "Well, is there anything celestially bronze nearby? Or crush them somewhere because I am not a runner by nature and I really want to hurt them." She glanced back at them and gave all of them the middle finger salute.

She wondered who her real parents were. Which of the gods or goddesses was it? She hoped it was someone badass and rebellious. It would make sense given her nature. She wondered why all of them were gathered in this school then. "Also what camp? There's a camp for...what did you call them...half-bloods? Sounds like another name for a prison, much like this school."

Arthur nodded along with Desdemona. He didn't trust that this would be any different from moving to just another prison. That being said, there was some merit in that Hedge was currently leading them away from danger. He still wasn't convinced about this whole "demigod" business though. As shaky as his current relationship was with his parents, they still were his parents. He was almost sure of that. Granted, he didn't know how demigods were made, perhaps it was somehow possible for both his parents to be his, and still have some godliness. He shook his head, realizing he was going down a train of thought where he accepted that he was part god.

Curious though, he allowed himself a question. "If we were to believe you." He started, putting stress on his opening if, "Who would our parents be? Is Jesus like, our great uncle?" He normally wouldn't stick a "like" in the middle of a sentence like that, but right now, he was far from operating at a hundred percent. Between processing this new information, and running for his life, he was just about at his wit's end. If he got out of this alive, his parents could expect a phone call very soon.

Mary nodded her head as Chiron spoke, glancing over at Ezekiel. Not that she really cared much to go out on a quest with him, she was fine with it. She figured that he'd probably be a useful person to have around, and hopefully won't get too much on her nerves. The guy really needed to know when it was okay to sit there and crack jokes or annoy people, and when it wasn't. If he didn't know that, then he likely was not going to last too long in the world. That sort of thinking likely would get you killed.

She was glad at the thought that Leda might be going along, and was a bit thankful that Ezekiel had asked for her to go, or at least invited her along. Mary didn't care too much if Kristin tagged along, but she'd be glad to have her friend there to have her back. She'd trust Leda to back her up in a fight, or maybe help them to get out of a pinch. It was useful to have others there, but too big of a crowd could also cause some problems.

Leda Storm

Location: Dining Pavillion

Despite qualifying as a speedster, the likes of the Flash or Quicksilver (though no one really knew about the Marvel character by comparison to the Flash's fame), Leda could be incredibly unaware of her surroundings at times. In fact, she had completely missing Chiron's announcement, despite her sister warning her that it would happen. It could have been part of the ADHD, but she had been informed that it was heightened battle reflexes. Apparently those reflexes didn't cover a centaur talking during a meal. Or maybe she was distracted by the food? She was incredibly hungry and had to eat a lot because of how many calories she burned during a run.

"...Oh, yeah!" Leda blurted a bit, as Chiron called her out. She tried not to blush. It was so elementary school, getting all ashamed at not paying attention to the teacher and all. "Yup, I'll go, it'll be fun. Someone needs to save these slowpokes anyways," she couldn't help but point out. She gave Zeke another nod as well. She knew that the entire ~no more than three~ rule was there for a reason, but they would be bringing demigods back anyways. They'd be over three at some point no matter what, so she hardly saw any point in worrying about it.

@Morose@BlueSky44@KazAlkemi Chiron looked at the four of them as they all volunteered to go, three was a good number, four was always worrisome for him. "Alright then, you four go and get whatever you need. I believe Miss Lauryn and the other Hephaestus kids will have your transportation ready very soon." He said giving the Hephaestus cabin counselor a nod. "Sure thing." Lauryn said as she stood up looking over at Mary, Kristin, Leda and Zeke. "Meet me outside of cabin Nine whenever you are geared up." She said, as she turned and left, with a few of her other cabin mates.

Kristin looked at Zeke and smirked a bit towards him. "You will end up getting sick of me by the time we get there you know." Kristin said jokingly as she stood up, and looked at Chiron as he spoke and nodded towards him, and then looked towards the four of them, she was glad that Mary was going. She enjoyed the company of her friend there, and having two people she had gone on a quest with before was better as well. Even if she found both Zeke and Leda a bit annoying, but she didn't care they were going on a Quest, and she would be able to get out of camp for a little bit.

Kristin grabbed a bit more food from her plate and finished up what she had been eating, and then gave the remainder up away in the brazier for good luck. "See you guys outside of the Hephaestus cabin." Kristin said, giving them a smile before leaving the dining pavilion and made her way back over towards her cabin. She started to pack her things up, and then grabbed a bag of ambrosia and a bottle of nectar as well in case anyone got injured.

"I'll crush your bones and turn you into some stew!" One of Roman's Cyclopes buddies yelled as they had some trouble going down the stairs and two of them ended up falling down several flights of stairs, they were dazed and confused. But they slowly started to get up, Kiera looked at the others and then over towards her friend Ash and nodded slightly. "Still running isn't my thing.." Kiera said between heavy breathes as she followed behind Hedge through the woods once they were getting a bit further away now.

"Camp Half-Blood, it's a safe place for you to train and whatnot. But if you'd rather get eaten by a group of stupid cyclopes then feel free to just stand there then." Hedge said towards Desdemona, he then started to think a bit and looked around a bit, and spotted the gym equipment shed. "Follow me." He said, and gave Arthur a slight look and shook his head slightly. "Whoever greek god fucked your mom or dad, and gave birth to ya, I don't know. They will claim you at some point during your first day at camp." Hedge said towards Arthur, Kiera shook her head slightly she couldn't really believe what she was listening right now it was to much to take in right now. She eventually made it to the equipment shed for the gym.

Athanasia Theroux

Location Courtyard of CRS

"Camp-?" Athanasia was mistrustful of 'camps' in general. Her false father had too often suggested sending her off to camps during the summer, something her mother would not hear of. It was just as well because Athanasia enjoyed travelling the world with her mother for the woman's job. Those long and dreary months when school became the priority were merely chances to prove she was better than whatever Ryssa's husband thought of her. Something she always failed at much to her chagrin.

But if her father was a god? Athanasia turned that thought over her mind as she stumbled after Coach Hedge. It was a interesting development and one that played into a few of the more interesting moments of her short life. Was this the reason her mother couldn't see or talk to her friends? While Ryssa had never doubted her, there had been a certain apprehension when the woman had found her in the Saint Louis Cemetery. As one of the cyclopes roar about making her into stew, Athanasia decide to worry about it another time. Running seemed the paramount thing to do for their present situation. "I'd rather run than be turned into stew!" The pale girl gasped as she reached the shed.

Ezekiel Kel

Location:Dining Pavilion ---> Apollo Cabin -- Camp Half-Blood

With their assignment given and travel plans arranged, Ezekiel clapped his hands together and gathered his remaining food, tossing it into the brazier after Kristen did. On his way out he grabbed a orange and peeled it as he walked back to the cabin. He hummed to himself as he walked, the only time he could actually remain in key. Ezekiel had a horrid singing voice and only saved it for special occasions of needing to piss someone off. Sometimes you needed to get a person going in order for it to be a challenge. In order to push them to be better.
Ezekiel stepped into his cabin and started gathering some things into his already ready bag. He had a go-bag so to speak, for those last minute missions or it’s time to bail because camp is under attack...again. It payed to be prepared. Ezekiel was rearing and ready to go within ten minutes. They did have an hour to get themselves ready though so he decided a quick shower would be beneficial. A full stomach and sparkling skin was step one to a sunny disposition.

Mona felt herself getting tired. "Ok fair play, I probably should have tried harder in gym class. But to my defense, I never thought I would be chased by monsters from a Greek tragedy so..." As they ran their teacher spoke about some camp where people like them would go and if that just didn't figure. She would escape from one prison to join a summer camp.

The creatures would not be letting up anytime soon. As they found the equipment shed, Mona grabbed two weights in either hand. She clanged them together. "They won't let up so unless we have a big plan we need to fight back." And then Mona faced the beasts. "Come at me losers!"

Leda Storm

Location: Dining Pavilion -> Cabin Twenty -> Outside Cabin Nine

Leda quickly finished her food, using her speed in order to get it all into her mouth in a matter of seconds. A quest of sorts with Zeke and Kristen - that was given her major déjà vu. They had gone on a quest together before, tasked by Apollo in order to find a kidnapped Muse. The dynamics between the three of them had more or less not changed at all since then. Kristen was stuck up and Zeke was irritating - but they managed to work together somehow. She couldn't help but wonder how things would be now that they were going to add Mary into the mix. Would the daughter of Demeter make things better or worse?

Leda then hurried over to Cabin Twenty, seemingly a rainbow blur as she dashed over there. She kept most of the things she would need for a quest on her person, since demigods had a bad habit of getting shoved into them without a chance to gear up. She debated for a moment bringing her iPod and earbuds, but devices like that tended to have an awful tendency to attract monsters so she decided against it. Instead, all she really did was ensure that her bag had a decent amount of twinkies shoved into it, before she dashed off to the designated meeting spot.

"Hurry up already!" Leda complained, just sort of generally shouting.

@Jasonhero Jade and her father were now in Granite Falls, North Carolina, after driving for about the last five hours it was now around noon for the two of them. He thought for a moment and looked over towards his daughter for a moment before Jade's father speaking up. "So where do you want to eat, theres a Papa John's, Pizza Hut or a McDonald's nearby as well." He said, as they stopped by a nearby parking lot. "Or did you want to find some other place to eat?" He asked her.

Lauryn was standing just outside of cabin nine with four others of Hephaestus cabin, they were putting the last few adjustments to chariots there were four of them, each of them were hitched with two Pegasus each. Which gave them their own rides individually. Lauryn looked over seeing Leda coming in first and then shortly after that came Zeke as well. "Alright, so made some chariots for quests over the last year." She said as she started, and moved over towards a compartment and pressed a button. "Inside you have three bottles of Greek Fire each, these are also jet powered as well so you can get to wherever you want to go pretty quickly, as well as a GPS on wherever you are going to go as well." She said to them, and smiled slightly, as she watched Kristin walking up now as well.

She adjusted her backpack a little bit and started to play with her bracelet a little bit as she managed to catch up with the others, seeing that they were given a briefing now for the chariots that they had been working on. Seeing the number of pegasi there made her smile, she always did enjoy riding and taking care of them from time to time as well. "We just need Mary then right?" Kristin asked as she looked around and waited for Mary to come and join them now, as she ran a hand through her hair a bit ready to go on the quest.

The Cyclopes were a bit further away now, but they would be able to see the group making their way towards the shed, Kiera quickly made her way inside of the shed as well. She started to think a little bit, and looked around the area a little bit there was a landing above and a ladder as well up to the small second floor. There were various kinds of balls and weights in the building itself, though nothing that would be used as a proper weapon. "I should have kept some bats in here." Hedge muttered to himself, as he watched Kiera close the door to the shed itself. "Should buy us some time?" Kiera said, as she thought a bit more as Desdemona picked up some weights.

There was a large basket containing various weights in size, from 5 pounders up to 20 pounders of weights and looked up a bit, and thought of an idea. "So, probably a dumb idea but." Kiera said as she walked over and found some rope in the corner and picked it up looking at the others. "If we can make a trap and then drop it on at least one should work right?" Kiera asked, looking over at the others, as Hedge looked towards her. "Not what I would prefer, but that could work for one of them." He said, as he held up his bat.

Athanasia Theroux

Location Courtyard of CRS

Looking about the small interior of the equipment shed, Athanasia furrowed her pale brows. There was no way her small form would lift those heavy weights easily, she was ten and small at that. Wishing she would hit what her mother called a 'tillväxttid' already and reach a proper height, Athanasia peered up the ladder. "A trap is always fun." The sweet smile of the young half-blood's face was far from innocent as she considered the second floor with a wicked gleam in her black eyes. "Roman already wants to make me into gryta. Stew." She corrected herself absently.

Sizing up the basket ball, she snickered slightly. There was no other term for the noise and it wasn't exactly to Athanasia's standards of 'proper behavior'. But sometimes manners would have to wait. Like when you got caught in a storm or mother was loosing her temper with some idiot. Or you had a trio of one eyed cyclopes after you. A truly terrifying fact, but she had to be perfect. Had to be strong and beautiful and brave. Very brave, because she had said she would be. But her voice shook slightly and her eyes were too wide as she tried to give herself a look of confidence. "I think I can lure him. And I'm small, I'll be hard to get a hold of. Better yet... I have been insulting him." Giving a shrug to Kiera, the pale hair ten year old grinned with a evil delight. "Oh la! This will be as fun as planning out all those little pranks!" Athanasia pointed out as she tried to shove back the fear she felt at this bad situation. "I wish my friends from New Orleans were here, they were always full of ideas." Athanasia huffed with some annoyance.

"Compartmentalize Arthur." He thought to himself. Survival was his number one goal, and he needed to put everything else, including revelations about the true nature of the universe, behind the goal of staying alive. Shuffling into the shed, he figured since the rest of them had decided to fight, that'd be the direction they had to go in. Given they were lacking that magic metal Hedge had mentioned, it seemed their only option was to drop something heavy on them. He liked the idea of using the bags, but wasn't so comfortable of Anastasia being used as bait. "That's pretty dangerous, how fast can you run?" He asked uncertainly.

With that note, he went onto making a plan. If they could tie some knots around the weighted bags, they could essentially use their bodies as a counter weight, he'd imagine that'd only get one of them though. He didn't see how many of them there were, but he was certain of their plurality above all other things right now. He thought it'd be best to point this out, "Guys, let's say best case scenario we get two of them in here before we need to drop the bags." He started, glancing around at them, "What're we gonna do to get away from the others? It feels like we're cutting off our nose to spite the face."

Mary was glad that Leda had decided to tag along, but now was not the time to really be talking about that. Now was the time to get going, and she wanted to hurry along as fast as she could to be able to get going on the quest already. She hurried along to her cabin, grabbing a few things that she likely would need for this quest. Glancing around at her things, she just grabbed her bad, along with the sword that she generally stashed in the cabin, and headed off to meet up with the others.

It wasn't too surprising that she seemed to be the last one to show up, she was a little on the slow side sometimes, but she didn't really care. On her way over she had pulled her red curls back into a ponytail so that they wouldn't get in the way, and she reached where the others were. "Sorry for being a little slow... Let's get going then or what?" she said, smiling slightly at the others who were all there already. Mary glanced over at the chariots, and it made her even more excited to get going on this little adventure.

Jade Schneider

The girl sat quietly in the car, both headphones in listening to some song or another on her phone as her father drove them along towards the strange camp he had been talking about. She quietly hummed to herself as they drove along, wondering what this camp for people like her would be like. Could everybody talk to the spirits? Well, she had been told that she was supposed to be the daughter of some Greek Goddess or something like that. Maybe the people like her all had superpowers? That would be cool to meet somebody who could actually fly around or shoot lasers from their eyes. However she soon felt the car coming to the stop, and took the headphones out. "Oh. Uhhhh? Is there anything like chinese around? I could really go some panda right now, dad." She said softly, hoping that she would have her wish granted. She had been craving chinese since they left Vegas.

The man simply nodded and said he saw one nearby, then the car set into motion as they presumably drove off towards the Panda Express nearby. Not long afterwards, the two sat in the car in parking lot while some soft pop music played over the radio. Jade's face was wearing an expression that seemed quite content and happy. With her little box of teriyaki chicken and rice, the soft music, and spending time with her father. Overall it was a really nice and peaceful moment for Jade. The two chatted aimlessly as Jade kept trying to get some sort of information about this camp. But all she could get out of her father was that it was a safe place for people like her, and that her mother wanted her to go. She was starting to think that perhaps her father knew nothing about the camp, which seemed strange to her.

"He is right, a safe place." Spoke a voice that sounded like an elderly woman spoke in the back of her mind. Jade's head tilted as she paused on her munching while listening to the voice. Her father cast a careful gaze towards his daughter, still finding her ability to talk to the dead a little strange. "I know, Gertrude. You've told me many times before!" She said quickly, responding to the old woman's voice. Gertrude had been the first spirit to come and talk to her, she was blunt but kind. While always giving the honest truth of her opinion everytime no matter how it made you feel, the woman was always trying to help.
