@Altered Tundra Just thought I'd let you know, but I'm gonna be dropping this RP.
Interested in joining. May I inquire as to which spots are still available, if any?

"Run boy run! Running is a victory" — Run boy run. Woodkid.
AppearanceBefitting the son of the Messenger God, Bill Tanner has a rather athletic and lean physique. With a hieght of just under six feet tall, he has been called of average hieght. Coupled with his short brown hair and brown eyes, Bill has been called painfully average. While this isn't technically true, you can see where it came from. With a rather angular face structure, and a generally radiant facial experession, he has a rather friendly look to him. His teeth are in a generally good condition. Being straight and white, like teeth should be.
It is hard to pin down the specific style of Bill Tanner. He doesn't really think about it often. TYpically just throwing on whatever is clean at the time. Most of the time, its active wear. Although, he does have a few pairs of jeans that he wears often. Coupled with a cotton T0shirt, gives a rather casual vibe from most of his outfits. He does understand dress codes, so don't expect him to show up to a formal event in active wear or jeans. If the event is formal, Bill will wear a suit, and he polishes up rather nicely.
Personality♤ Friendly. ♤ Open. ♤ Reliable. ♤ Ambitious. ♤ Destructive. ♤ Thoughtless. ♤ Predatory. ♤ Health Illiterate. The Son of Hermes is a pretty chipper fellow. Generally smiling, having a good time. He has a positive outlook on life. He lacks any real understanding of health, in any practical way. Bill Tanner is a reliable fella. Keeping any promises he makes. He wants to do better and has sometimes put other people down to get ahead. He is pretty open-minded, and is willing to give anything a go, at least once. He, however, does have a knack for destroying the good things in his life. Often unintentionally, but sometimes on purpose. He often fails to think through his actions, and the unforeseen consequences often come back to haunt him. Overall though, he has a radiant personality. Generally wanting the best for him and his friends, while willing to utterly destroy his enemies.
HistoryIt all started with a woman. It always does. She started a simple life. Originally a mail woman who would steal the occasional parcel, and claim I went missing. As the post office started getting suspicious, she stopped, but now had a hunger for thieves. She decided to rob a museum. She gets her job as a mail woman as a cover and started training to steal one of the most expensive pieces of art in the area. It was a couple of years before she was ready. It was all going well until she met a rather charming man in the middle of the heist. She had no idea how he managed to get in that ventilation shaft, but he helped her complete the heist, and it became apparent that without his help, she surely would have failed.
After the heist, the two established a relationship. It lasted a couple months, with the man leaving for a couple days before returing. They preformed two more heists. On the night after their last heist, they made love.
The woman was Bill's mother, and the man was Hermes.
As Bill's mother told Hermes she was with child, Hermes disappeared. She thought he just left them, as she was still unaware of his godly nature. She raised the child as a single mother. She did pretty well to support her child, using the money from her heists. She still had to work hard though. Holding down two jobs to keep Bill in a good school.
The first inkling that something wasn't quite what it seemed was a junior school athletics carnival. Bill smashed the city record for one hundred meter sprint when he was only nine. From then on, Bill had never lost a sporting event. It wasn't until he was fifteen, and his school was debating whether they could send him to compete in nationals, with adults, that Hermes made himself known to Bill and his Mother. Now with the knowledge of his divine heritage, Bill still competed in the race and won. Now he had to get out of the spotlight, as the media had started to catch onto his story. Though they just thought he has a really good runner for his age. So, he went to Olypus Acadamy to get away from the media until the story dulled down.
"Bing. You've got mail." — Hermes
Godly ParentHermes. God of Trade, Heraldry, Merchants, Commerce, Roads, Thieves, Trickery, Sports, Travelers, and Athletes
Relationship With Godly ParentHermes wasn't involved in Bill's life in any way until Bill was fifteen. Bill doesn't hate Hermes for leaving his mother, he could see the logic in it. The messenger to the Gods could never settle down with a mail woman/thief from Sweden. He doesn't particularly like Mermes either. Sure he likes the idea of Hermes, and the powers he inherited from him, but Hermes as a person, is a little bit of a dick. All things considered, Bill doesn't really have a relationship with his father, and he is happy keeping it that way, and so is Hermes.
Demigod Abilities⫸ As Quick as the Wind - Bill is fast. Even by Demigod standards. So fast in fact, that it isn't even speeding. This ability isn't superspeed in the traditional sense, but rather a form of teleportation. One of the perks of having the Messenger God as your Dad, is you gain his ability to be nearly anywhere, nearly instantly. Bill becomes a transdimensional crossroads runner capable of traversing great distances without the need for constitutional locomotion. Essentially moving incredibly fast while not actually moving within any occupied area via dropping in and out between real and subspacial planes in rhythmic pulse intervals, at an incredibly rapid pace much faster than one can achieve through simple running. In simple terms, Bill Tanner can teleport.
⫸ Messenger of the Underworld - Since Hermes is one of the only Gods to have free access to the Underworld, so do his Children. Bill can go straight to the Underworld, do not pass go, do not pay the ferryman, do not collect $200. Connected to this, is his ability to come back. Getting there wouldn't be anything if he couldn't get back. There conditions though. He can't bring people who are dead back, as he is not allowed to change the number of souls trapped there. So he could bring someone back, but he would have to leave someone. He cannot bring things that were created in the Underworld back with him.
⫸ Say What? - Bill is Omnilingual. Being the son of the Messenger God has granted Bill with a knack for languages. In that, he instinctually knows them all. It's weird. When he hears a language he doesn't normally speak, it doesn't translate in his brain, or even as he hears it. He doesn't get an exact translation, it's not like google translate but instead works subconsciously. He can feel what it means. Not super helpful for riddles as most of the nuance is lost, but still useful for dealing with beings that don't speak English or Greek. He has yet to find a Language he can't understand. Even works on animals, though more with feelings than actual words or concepts. When Speaking, people and creatures hear him in their native tongue. Writing is a little tricky because of the fine motor skills involved. Bill is yet to find a way for this skill to include writing.
⫸ That was Locked? - With Hermes being the God of Thieves, Bill has a rather special relationship with locks. Baring enchantments, Bill can unlock nearly any lock made by man. More than that, he can lock them back up without any sign he had unlocked it. It's a fickle ability. Bill hasn't found any correlation between the complexity or size of a lock, and how easy it is to open or close. Bill has claimed that each lock has a "personality," some just want to stay locked more than others. For most locks, unlocking is as simple as trying to open the door normally, other times Bill has to coax the lock into opening. This manifests as Bill physically talking to the lock, but whether this is because are sentient, and his Omniligiualism allows him to communicate, or if this is its own mystical ability is unclear to Bill.Nate Buzolic | FF00FF
