Michelle "Shelly" Diggby

Location: Patio -> Sitting Room
Skills:

Shelly threw open the double patio doors as best she could, which is to say, not particularly impressively at all. It looked as if a bomb had gone of in the Sitting Room. Books, timber and seat fluff was strewn everywhere in shocking contrast to the delicately well ordered form she remembered it being. Shelly orientated herself in the room hoping to find her bag much where she left it, only to find it flung to the side of the room near a rather soggy, half constructed version of the arm chair she was sat in earlier. The latches had yeilded and the contents were practically swimming.

It was a disaster. Weeks of daily records turned to pulp in her hands, melting away through her fingers, the grey ooze forming a sludgy pile of forgotten memories on the ruined carpet. Gone forever. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but eventually she'd have disuade herself of her own identity again and when she did, the contents of that book, that pile of wet fibre, wouldn't be hers anymore. It almost happened today, thinking about what could have come to pass made her feel sick to the pit of her stomach. Shelly thanked her lucky stars her heart wasn't really in it, she could treasure those weeks a little longer and get the important bits back on paper.

Despite its higher quality paper, the self help book no longer had the integrity to hold it in its bindings, its torn pages providing avenues for structural water damage beyond the ordinary capacity, the printed ink streaked down the page reducing it to a series of ultra-frail Rorschach tests. Unlike loosing her diary, this wasn't depressing. This was terrifying. One bad button push and all that Shelly was, could be gone, unrecoverable. This booklet was a failsafe and now the failsafe was disabled, using her powers wasn't just morally reprehensible, it was down right suicidal.

The protective manifolds of the Book of Sin appeared to kept out not just those that might pry in, but the water too. A quick dry of the covers and a pop of the key in the lock revealed, the sacred knowledge was safe atleast. A small relief, especially considering entries that needed to be made tonight. Shelly clamped the book closed again before anyone could see inside. She'd have to bring it with her until she got back to her room.

She'd need to get the Grimoire out as soon as possible, thats what the self-help book had made her memorize, but first the ER.

@FantasyChic@Nallore@Morose@eclecticwitch@ColouredCyan Jean once again gave her niece a smile and patted her gently on the shoulder, before she headed off to medical with Neil in tow. Cyclops walked over to Sara now, "It'll be okay Sara, trust me, sometimes things like that happen... One of the reasons why I try to be careful about whether my visor gets knocked off or something, since I know that my powers can injure everyone around me if I'm not careful... Not to mention all of us have had Mesmero in our minds before, and it is a horrid feeling, I know. But there wasn't much you could do to prevent. Unless you knew that the attack was coming, there wasn't anything that could have been done, no matter what... So don't kick yourself too much over it..."

@LadyRunic "Smart choice Ms. Dyrkin," Danger said simply, following along after her. "As for what I am, I am the artificial intelligence and physical manifestation of the Danger Room."

@LadyRunic@KazAlkemi@Morose@Nallore
Jean entered the operating theater, levitating Neil over to the bed next to Guin and setting him down, and he would start to regain consciousness.

"You people talk too loudly..." Mary muttered as she opened her eyes. Her head was pounding as she sat up slowly, the world spinning somewhat. She glanced over at the others, and they could see something that she couldn't, and that was that her eyes were red. More of where the color of her eyes were typically green, they had changed to a bright red.

"Hey there sunshine, how ya feeling? Ça va?"

"I feel like my head got put through a blender and spat out again..."

"Ya play too much Fruit Blender Ninja or whatever it is....." Gambit said, shaking his head.

"Whatever you say... Ow... My head hurts..." she muttered, closing her eyes again and putting her hands to her head.

Gambit nodded. "Jeanie, any chance ya can get Goldie some morphine?"

"I do not need morphine Remy, that stuff is way to strong of a pain killer for a headache!"

"It ain't just a headache Goldie."

"I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"No, ya ain't fine. Also, you, Snake Man - ya can damn well wait to talk to Goldie about whatever she did." Gambit said, before turning to look at Richard for a moment.

Hearing that reminded Mary of what exactly had just happened and what she had caused. The fact that she might have accidentally killed people or something, and she curled up slightly on the bed, her mind racing through everything. She glanced slightly at the wall, not really wanting to look at anyone else. Though there was something else wrong, she could have sworn she had heard another voice, but no one else seemed to react to it, so she said nothing about it.

"Hey, hey Goldie...." Gambit then wrapped her into a hug.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt anyone..." she said, softly, though she was crying slightly now, tears coming down her face.

Now, on the other side of the room, by where Guin and Pietro were. Lance started to stir again slightly, before he slowly opened his eyes. He was feeling horrible, a combination from the head injury and the fact that his father's blood was a little radioactive. "Ow..." he muttered.

"Hey, take it easy buddy...." Banner said softly, monitoring Lance's vitals and making adjustments to treatment on the fly.

"...When did you get here?"

"Guin called me."

"Of course she did..."

"It's a good thing she did...."

"I would have been fine anyway."

"No, you wouldn't have been."

"Yes I would have!"

"Hey, relax buddy, take it easy...."

"I'm fine," he grumbled, glaring slightly at Banner, not too thrilled about this entire situation now. He really did not want Banner to be there, not to mention last he checked a blood transfusion from the Hulk was a bad idea.

Beast was still keeping an eye on Carolina and Annie, before looking at the pair, as well as Dean, in order to answer their questions about Carolina's own injuries. "She will be alright, however it would be helpful if there was someone around here who was not injured and who could act as a blood donor. Though I can keep her stable until we can get some blood for her..."

Guin Stark and Pietro Maximoff

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: Mental Link

The adrenaline had worn off and Guin was starting to feel dizzy. The arguing and shouting that seemed to be erupting on and off all over medical didn't help, combined with the fact that as she shut her eyes, all of that blood was still reminding her of Muscles. He had traveled back in time in order to save all of them. He had sacrificed his life so that way they could have a better future. She bit her lip, trying to force herself to breathe evenly but it was like her mind was glitching. She couldn't get unstuck.

"Guina? Are you okay?" Pietro asked her softly.

Just a little dizzy... Guin didn't know if she could bring herself to speak right then.

Oh... That sucks...

She reached into her pocket and gripped her fingers tightly around Muscles' wedding ring. She didn't have the mental energy to even think about the logistics involved in it still being there and not fading away. Pietro was really seriously injured and even though he healed fast, Muscles healed quickly as well and it didn't stop his death. It didn't stop Oshea's death when Sabretooth snapped his neck.

Guina? Are you okay? Talk to me please...

You're really hurt... A-and all the blood... Guin's breathing got jagged and irregular. She was squeezing that wedding ring so tightly it was starting to leave an impression on the skin of her palm.

Guina, I'm fine, don't worry... And everything will be okay... he said, sitting on the bed next to her and pulling her into his arms. She was shaking as she tried her best to take deep breaths. Similar to how weighted blankets helped people with anxiety, having Pietro's strong arms around her slowly helped to calm her down. Guin still felt dizzy however, but she put the wedding ring back into her pocket. You're covered in burns...

It could have been worse... Don't worry Guina...

You could have died... Guin started crying softly.

I wouldn't have died Guina...

She shook her head slightly, pulling her fingers underneath her sleeves. Muscles did.

Guina, it's okay...

Guin started feeling a bit feverish. "You need to let go, I might switch..." she mumbled. While she was better at controlling her powers, they were connected to her emotions. The little feverish sensation was more or less her body telling that she was primed and ready to switch.

"No... I don't care, and I don't want to leave you alone Guina. It'll be okay..."

She tried taking another deep breath, still keeping her hands inside of her sleeves to try to minimize skin to skin contact. Her powers didn't have a lot of uses for the X-Men, but she knew that switching with Pietro right now wouldn't help. "You hate it when we switch, since everything gets slow..." Guin mumbled, taking another breath. Her eyes were shut tightly.

"It's okay though... Don't worry Guina, it'll be alright... Everything will be fine, you'll see, just take a few deep breaths, okay?"

She nodded, taking deep breaths but she was still shaking. The feverish sensation went away however and she slowly let her hands out from inside of her sleeves. "...You need to let someone look at you. You're hurt," she sniffled. "Way more hurt than I am."

"Well we have to wait for someone who can, so we can't do much anyway..."

"...Sorry," she said quietly, finally calmed down for the most part. "...I-I think I might have PTSD."

"Yeah... I figured... It'll be alright though..."

She opened her eyes, looking at him. Even though I'm crazy?

I don't think you are crazy, and it doesn't matter to me even if you were...

Guin's eyes watered a bit and she blinked away the tears. I love you so much... More than anything.

I love you more Guina.

Dean Kesseli

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

"I... I think I was controlled..." Dean told Annie quietly. He was trying to ignore Richard, though it was a bit hard to do so. Looking at him just reminded him of the betrayal and then made his hands feel like they were still clutching Richard's kidney. He never wanted to touch that man's organs again. Dean clenched his hands and coughed a bit. The ice from Guin's weapon was slowing down his body's naturally quick healing. He wanted to be able to run away from this place and go home, to forget that he ever had been stupid enough to think that he could belong here.

Hearing Carolina say that she would be fine, Dean tried his best to relax and calm down but he couldn't. Today had been a horrible day - almost as bad as when they had been attacked by O.M.E.N. He had been a student back then and he thought that he would be able to make things work this way. He knew that he wanted to help people, but this wasn't helping anyone. This was just... violence. He had had his most fun at the mansion planning events - like prom or the musical. "I'm glad you're okay..." he told Carolina softly.

Neil Spellman

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

As Neil at first started to return to consciousness, he assumed that he was alone, wherever he was. He couldn't hear a single thing - well, he did hear something. It was an annoying and incessant ringing, so loud that Neil moved his stiff arms to his head and smooshed his ears with his hands. It felt wet and sticky - his hands were covered in blood. Mira's scream must have burst his eardrums or something. He looked to the side, seeing Quicksilver on the bed snuggling Guin Stark. Neil shook his head a bit, wondering how a couple like that worked. Neil's thoughts then raced as he remembered what he had done - things he had done to his friends and he felt sick.

He shut his eyes, plunging himself back into darkness but he couldn't keep them closed very long. He felt his chest heaving as he cried and he felt the tears on his face, but he couldn't hear it. He didn't know what to say or what to do. Every movement seemed to ache and he didn't want to move his hands at all. His powers had hurt people and he didn't want to have the slightest risk of doing that again. "I can't... I can't hear..." Neil started coughing a lot. He hadn't registered it at first but his entire body felt like it was on fire. He wanted to just fall unconscious again and never wake up. It'd be easier than this.

Location: Outside of the Mansion ==> Operating Theatre

With a shrug, Bobbi walked over and easily scooped the taller girl into her arms. It looked awkward, all of those limbs and the tiny biker holding her up as if she weighed no more than a bag of potatoes. She followed everyone down to the place where the stuff was about to happen. She admired the undamaged parts of the mansion. And then all the techy bits she was introduced to. Quite impressive really. She was directed to lay Bethany down on one of the beds and she did so as carefully as she could. Which was to say, a difficult act as the bed came to her mid waist.

The young woman then popped herself up onto some table at the edge of the room. She let her legs swing freely and managed to find a sucker in her pocket which she put into her mouth. She watched the scene before her unfold with someone mild curiosity. There was a big blue hairy guy, that was pretty killer. A bunch of kids in beds all sorts of beat up. And then a pair are snuggled up. Bobbi made a face. "Oi, if I hope this doesn't become one of those things where I constantly end up walking in on teenagers dry humping. Had enough of that in hostels," she grumbled, rolling the lollipop stick in her fingers before popping it back into her mouth.

Then came the mention of blood. Uninjured person blood. The small woman looked around at everyone. Most people seemed pretty dang wounded. And finally, she came to realize she was one of the few. She hopped down from the desk and quipped, "Well don't everyone shout all at once. Geeze. I gots blood and plenty of it. But if any of these kiddos become addicted to cigarettes it ain't my fault." She pointed her sucker at Big and Blue.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Operating Theater -- First Sub-Basement
Skills: Intuition

Antoinette smiled at Carolina and squeezed her hand back when she took hold of it. She was glad for the slight contact. Proof that Carolina was well and would be okay. All she needed was a day or two of recovery but Antoinette knew her friend and Carolina most likely wouldn’t be satisfied sitting around ‘resting’. She was already seeming to have a hard time with the attention and being told to rest. At the mention of Antoinette’s nose, she gave it a little twitch and tears pricked her eyes. If she hadn’t started to bruise under her eyes already, Antoinette was sure it would happen shortly.
”Much better then your head,” she assured her friend. Carolina rolled away shortly after and Antoinette made quick work of pulling Carolina’s hair back.
Beast was back, concern on needing a proper blood donor still and Dean looking not much better after Carolina’s assurance and Beast’s assurance that she would be fine. Antoinette smiled a little, noting his distress and thought for a moment of what she may be able to do. Everyone was a little on edge still, concern for the other in the room over themselves.
”What makes you happy Dean? Or laugh.” She had an idea, she only hoped her illusion casting would cooperate with her.

Carolina Reed

Location: Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Carolina smiled a little bit when Dean said he was glad that she was alright, and turned her head slightly to look over at him. "When i'm better, maybe we can get some lunch or something?" She asked him, and looked up at Annie as she brushed some hair away from her face. Her head just wanted to explode right now. "I'm sorry I hit you Annie." Carolina said softly, even though it wasn't her fault it felt like she did as well. There was to much talking going on in the room, as she let Beast tend to her injury, she couldn't really feel her finger tips or toes as they gave a weird tingly sensation to her.

"Can everyone quiet down a bit?" She whispered and looked over towards Beast for a moment, and bit her bottom lip she wasn't even sure if her sister would be allowed to go to the mansion. "Can you call my sister, tell her i'm okay and what happened?" She asked him, she rolled over and laid onto her back and groaned slightly, the room started to spin a little bit.

Richard Laine & Ayita Dyrkin

Location: Sub-Basement - Operating Theater

Richard gave a short and pained chuckle. "Snake Man? Close enough, Card Man." The Adder wrapped a arm about his middle, feeling the loss of a kidney at the moment. A body battered and injured and all he could do was lay about. Which wasn't improving his mood in the slightest. He wasn't angry per say, but rather peeved and Marygold had crossed a line. That line's name was Ayita, and for his sister? He had done a lot already.

"If you want to get all properly serpent and all things snake-like... I'm more of an Adder. Proper English Slytherin." The former assassin chuckled at his own little joke. Though he sobered at hearing Marygold's tears. He wanted to rip the girl a new one, honest as the sky was blue. Though he was loath to place the blame all on her if whatever issue Ayita had with the red-head was mixed up with the recent bout of mind control. "And I'm not going rip into her, for now anyways. But I am going to find out what she said exactly to my baby sister to make her cry and come to me." There was a fearsome glint in Richard's eyes. "Ayita has had enough of that in her life, and I'll be damned if she has to put up with more disdain from within this little group for what she is."

"I should be used to such things as of now." The woman noted dryly. "I will hunt this prey down better when I am bandaged- as much as I dislike it. It is not a choice, it is a necessity." The wild woman slipped through the door into the crowded medical room. An 'operating theater'. Humans and their naming of things. Studying the crowd for a long moment she dismissed each. A hand gripping Carolina's shoulder and releasing it quickly as she passed, her strides taking her to her older brother. "Richard." The woman sighed and gripped the man's face as she studied the snake-eyed man who was her kin.

Richard chuckled and shooed his sister's hands off, noting the burns and cuts on her skin. "You're injured." Who? He wanted to ask the question, but Ayita was glanced over towards Jean with a shake of her head.

"Leave it. The bastard Mesmero got into my mind." Richard paused as he heard the pure rage in Ayita's voice. It was not common that Ayita let that rage focus on someone other than herself. Oh, she could get annoyed with people and dislike them. But to outright hate them? The Adder shruddered as he read the predator in his sister's eyes. She would not stop til the blood of Mesmero was staining the ground. Not with a lover up North, a brother in the South, and friends all about. He almost wanted to smile, as Ayita moved to forage for supplies to tend to her wounds.

Looking over at Marygold, Ayita pointedly ignoring the 'leader'. Though she was sure to make damn sure that ring on her finger was gleaming bright. Old and worn it might be, but dammit all! It was hers! Damon was hers, and she was his. That kept her from turning and demanding satisfaction from the weeping little bundle of prey. Returning to her brother's side, she pointedly placed herself between the Adder and Poison Ivy. Not to protect her form him, but so that she would have to go through Ayita to get to the only family aside from Allison and her mate that Ayita had left. She had found nothing to help her own wounds, so she cast her amber eyes about before lighting on Jean. "What might help for the burns that your mate inflicted when I was rampaging?" Her brother stiffened but understood the termage. Rampaging... Ayita had given him the info he needed. That she was alive was testament to the fact she had been turned away and not so badly injured because of that.

Allison Andrews and Sara Grey

Location: Outside -> Operating Theater

Sara heard her uncle's words and knew he was trying to cheer her up. And in a way, it worked. She knew her actions were not her own. It didn't quell the feeling in her gut that she had deeply hurt people. Nearly killed them and could have done worse had Storm not stopped her and Allison not gone out with Professor Xavier and finding Jean. At least she was conscious.

Allison, meanwhile, used her telekinesis to help lift Bethany to the operating theater. As she stepped in with the others, she ignored Guin and Pietro doing their thing. She couldn't help but fight both sides of her saying how cute it was and wondering if that was all they did and was now the time? Granted, this could have all gone horribly wrong.

Sara was injured, but not to the serious extent Bethany and Neil were. She walked up to Neil to see how he was. He could not hear her, but he could see and feel her. She grabbed his hand and gave him a reassuring squeeze. As if to say "You will be all right."

Allison addressed the room. "All right, as I am sure most of you have gathered, we have just been through quite an ordeal. Mesmero had taken control of some of the people here and caused them to fight the others. Things seem to have calmed down now. If we are in need of blood transfusions, I can step up. I do not remember what my blood type is, but if it can be used, I will gladly give. And if not, tell me what to do and where to do it."

"Ssshh, tout va bien mon amie. C'est pas grave. C'est juste une petite blessure, n'est-ce pas?" Gambit said to Mary gently, before turning his entire body to face Ayita and Richard. "You are NOT going to rip into her at all. Ever. I'll be damned if ya bully Goldie after all of the shit she's already been through today. If you so much as send an unkind glance in her direction, you'll have a card shoved up your ass so far that when it explodes, you'll think it was Hank freaking Pym up there!" Gambit snapped.

"Calm down Remy..." Mary said softly, looking at him.

"That was a bit harsh don't ya think?" Rogue asked him, rolling her eyes slightly at that.

"....Nope," Gambit shook his head. "He gets it, doesn't he? What a guy'll do for his baby sister." Gambit had always felt that Mary was the little sister he never had. He had more or less adopted her when she first joined the team, since she was the kid of the group.

"Remy, calm down, you're over reacting just a little bit," Rogue said again, Mary had fallen silent, her head was still hurting, but she could have sworn she heard someone talking in her head, but it was strange to her, as the voice sounded a lot like her own, yet slightly different.

"I ain't mon amie!"

"You kind of are..." Mary muttered.

"Ya went through a lot today and ya don't need any crap added onto it."

"A lot of people went through a lot today, and can I just say you yelling is not helping my horrible headache..."

"Ya, they did, and I doubt any of them want some half rate Severus Snape tearing into them after it."

"You are such a geek."

"Ya say that like it's a bad thing, mon amie."

"It isn't a bad thing..." she said with a slight eye roll. The main reason she had said that was so that they could get off the topic of arguing and yelling at people.

"I'm glad ya're okay..." Gambit said, putting a hand on Mary's shoulder

"You worry too much..."

"Nah chère, given all that's gone down - here and with Jakobsen - I think I don't worry enough."

"Jakobsen has changed since then..." she muttered, but she could have sworn that she heard that voice again, it was still strange, no matter what happened. The voice definitely was hers, and she was not liking at all what it was saying or trying to convince her to do.

Jean looked over at Ayita when she had made the comment about needing to be fixed up and let out a slight sigh. She was glad that she was actually a medical doctor and at least as qualified to do this sort of thing as Beast was. "Give me a moment and I'll get to you after I see what we have in terms of hearing aids or something for him," she responded, nodding her head towards Neil before she went to see if they had any sort of hearing aids that might work for him. Jean got lucky and found a pair, and helped put them in and get them secured in Neil's ears. "Can you hear me?" she asked him, and he'd be able to hear her voice perfectly fine.

Lance shot a glare at his father, and despite how ill he was feeling, probably a combination of his head injury and getting a blood transfusion that was really radioactive, he sat up and went to try and get off the bed. Not really wanting to be there at all.

Banner gently forced Lance back into bed. "You aren't stable enough yet, buddy. Moving now is not a great idea."

"Leave me alone!" Lance snapped at him, getting really pissed off now.

"I will once you are fine," Banner murmured, continuing to work on him. "Also, Guinevere, get your boyfriend out of your bed before Tony sees and has a fit."

Lance glared at his father, before he tried to blast him with light. Unfortunately, it didn't work to well and resulted in a kind of weird flash of light that wasn't too bright, though something else was off. The light seemed to have a slight greenish tint to it, but it was gone in an instant.

"Buddy, not in here okay? A lot of people are badly hurt...."

"Just go away!"

"Not until you're better."

"Just go, I'm fine!"

"Medically speaking, you are not," Banner said, continuing to work on his son.

"Yes I am, so stop it and go away!" he said, before trying to get up again.

Banner easily pushed Lance back down into bed. "Stop it or I will restrain you."

"You are freaking out way too much, honestly, it's just a head injury..."

"And extensive blood loss and potential brain damage."

"It isn't that bad!"

"You never went to medical school or got a higher degree, Lance, so forgive me if I am not swayed by your opinion buddy."

"Wow, so nice about the thought that I never did go to college or anything," Lance said with an eye roll.

"You never seemed interested in it. Surprised you didn't go with Guin - you know the statistics on how people tend to meet spouses in college. You had such a big crush on her," Banner smirked a bit.

"Shut up," Lance said, trying once again to get up, and ignoring what Banner had said about not getting up. He was really annoyed with Banner, not too mention he never really thought too much about going to any sort of college or university, and the parent who actually was around was not someone he had ever wanted to talk about that sort of thing with.

Banner gently pushed Lance back down into bed. "You need to rest," he said, before making good on his word, Banner restrained him to the bed.

"No I don't..."

Cyclops had come down stairs as well, following after Allison and the rest of the group. Beast turned to address the newcomers, and hearing Bobbi's words first, he shook his head slightly at her. "Unfortunately, due to your history you are unable to actually act as a blood donor except in emergency's when no other source is available. However Ms. Andrews, you could act as a potential donor for Ms. Reed, so if you would have a seat please," he said, pulling up a chair so that she could sit right next to Carolina.

"This certainly has been an interesting sort of day hasn't it?" Cyclops mused slightly, leaning up against the wall by the door knowing that he'd likely would just get in the way if he went to attempt to help out. He wasn't exactly the best when it came to anything medical.

Neil Spellman

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Neil's eyes were scanning the room quietly, noticing the new arrivals. There was a biker chick sucking on a lollipop over at one of the tables, a sight that made him do a bit of a double take since he didn't remember ever seeing anyone like her before. However, given the misfits they already had at the school - some reformed Brotherhood members, a girl raised by wolves(?), an heiress to a billion dollar tech company, the niece of the Phoenix, and so many more... he couldn't be that surprised to see a biker. Hell, the more he glanced into that corner, the more she reminded him of Wolverine. Maybe she was his niece or something. The brief bit of analysis helped to take his mind off of the pain for a moment, but his mouth felt like sandpaper and his bones like molten magma.

As Sara took his hand and gave it a squeeze, Neil's eyes watered. He really liked this girl and for the first time, he was actually having a proper... interaction(?) with her... and it was after he had been mind controlled to try to kill the others at X-Mansion. It was more or less on par with the sort of things that happened to the X-Men, but it didn't make it any easier. He couldn't help but feel ashamed and guilty as he looked at Sara. She was so beautiful and strong. Sara's aunt, the one and only Jean Grey, then approached him, carrying what looked like hearing aids.

Did he really deserve those, after everything he had done? He knew that his aunties had told him stories about people being possessed, force to do things that they never would have - and he knew that no one else who was mind controlled was to blame for what they had done... but knowing all of that still didn't help to take the guilt away. Neil nodded slightly at Jean. "I-I can... Thank you," he said softly. He had his hearing back just in time to hear Lance arguing with his father - something that put Neil a bit on edge, especially when Lance sent a blast of light off at him.

"...Attacking the Hulk in medical... What could possibly go wrong..." he mumbled.

Dean Kesseli

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Dean couldn't help but smile slightly, overhearing Bobbi's comments about walking in on dry humping teenagers. Quicksilver and his girlfriend were a bit ridiculous sometimes in his opinion - but knowing the terror he himself was experiencing, having ripped out Richard's kidney and found out that he had withheld information vital to Max's life... He could understand wanting to hold someone closely right now. He would have wanted to hold Carolina, if it wasn't for the fact that when he even contemplated touching someone, all he could think about was phasing through and ripping out their heart. It wasn't that he was a bad person - just that the darkness had held him and now, Dean was scared that it was a part of him - that even without Mesmero, that was the person he would become.

Hearing Annie's question, Dean hesitated for a moment. He panicked and couldn't think of anything that made him happy. But then, he remembered what he had asked Beast - that he had wanted to go home. He just wanted to see his parents and baby sister and run away from all of this. How did that saying go, anyways? You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Dean didn't like either options. He'd rather go back to the suburbs, live the white picket fence life and grow old and just be a civilian, a bystander. "My baby sister... Carrie... She's - she's real little," Dean said. "Got the stupidest little smile too..."

The corners of his mouth twitched a bit. She was adorable - but it helped that she was young. Little siblings were almost always cute when they were young. It was when they got older and became annoying that that stopped being the case. He had actually discovered that he had powers, when he had to swoop in quickly and catch her from a fall at the park. At Carolina's request, Dean turned bright red. He didn't think she'd be interested in a guy like him still.

Someone who nearly murdered someone.

"I... Sure," Dean said, not knowing what else to say to Carolina. "Maybe we can meet somewhere... I don't think I'm going to stay here," he then admitted softly. As Allison said the name of the man who had held his mind captive, Dean was just relieved that she seemed to be fine. It was good that she was stepping up too, since he saw Mary in one of the beds among the injured.

Guin Stark

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Guin turned bright red as some biker girl came into medical, making a comment about seeing teenagers dry humping. She hadn't really been paying attention to her surroundings, given the fact that Pietro had forced her into a bed in medical on the far side of the room, and she then had a slight PTSD induced panic attack at all of the blood and injuries. Of course, Pietro was incredibly attractive and that didn't help keep her from being distracted. Banner made a comment on it as well and part of Guin wanted to hide underneath a blanket.

Of course, at least Lance was stealing a bit of the attention as he sent a blast off at his father. She could see some visible tension near Mary, Richard, Ayita, and a few of the original X-Men. Sara was holding some kid's hand. Annie, Carolina, and Dean were all conversing. People had split off into their own little groups and not all of the interactions seemed like they were going to end well. "Lando, face it, he's going to make you rest whether you want to or not," Guin pointed out to him. However, as her thoughts drifted towards technology and all, looking at the set up Lance had at the moment, she recalled what she had seen earlier.

Mary had been doing something in technology - right before she attacked them. Remembering the time when Hammer had hired a mind controller to try to steal from Stark Industries, Guin's eyes widened a little bit. There was so much alien technology at X-Mansion - enough that any of it would be worth stealing. "This was all a freaking distraction!" Guin declared suddenly. "Mesmero or whatever was after something - that's why Mare was in technology. And what is worth stealing here at X-Mansion, something you couldn't get elsewhere? And it had to have been a digital transfer since otherwise he would have had Mary try to escape..."

Her stomach grumbled slightly. She wanted pizza. Her head was also still spinning a bit. It helped that Pietro was holding her, since otherwise she would have been swaying a bit. "What are you going on about Guina?" Pietro asked, basically ignoring the comments everyone else had made about the two of them. Though he ignored what he had just said and chuckled slightly, able to tell that she was hungry.

"You're a kleptomaniac. Think about it. If you were going to break into here, what would you want to steal that could be transferred digitally?" Guin asked, her stomach grumbling again.

Pietro fell silent, thinking for a moment. Though he didn't care too much for her calling him a kleptomaniac since he didn't care much for the term at all. "Well... It would have to be something that could be like a file transfer... Like blueprints or schematics for some form of tech that the mansion has... But that could be just about anything when you consider as you said before all of the bits of technology the mansion has, anything would be worth trying to recreate..."

She really wanted pizza now. And the more Guin thought about how much she wanted pizza, the harder it was for her to keep on her train of thought. "Mmm, see the thing is, a lot of this tech is comparable to other stuff that's out there. S.H.I.E.L.D. has the Framework as an alternative to the Danger Room for example. They have space ready quinjets now too. No, there is one thing here though that you can't get anywhere else, something of use to someone with mind powers..."

"Um... I know where you are going with this, and that would be bad, like really bad... But it can't be that easy to steal those blueprints you would think... Like, not many people I don't think have access to those..."

"Damn it I need food...." Guin mumbled. "But that's why it makes sense - because I saw Mary in technology. She'd be one of the few with access. If he was stealing any old plan, he wouldn't have had to send her down there for them - she would have stayed upstairs to fuck with people."

"When was the last time you ate something?" Pietro asked, starting to tunnel vision on her again. Guin shrugged. "Look, that's not important. But if I'm right, then someone needs to go tell Xavier - and I can't since you won't let me leave this dumb bed..." "We can tell him a little later, not like anyone here is likely going anywhere tonight..."

Richard Laine & Ayita Dyrkin

Location: Sub-Basement - Operating Theater

Richard tensed in his desire to stand against Remy's insults. Bully Marygold?! She was the one who reduced Ayita to tears! "Shove a card up my ass, I'll just come back to hit you harder." Richard hissed, ignoring the stabbing pain as he yanked a startled Ayita to the side. "If you so much as suggest my sister is a bully or raise her voice in her direction again I'll=!" He grunted as Ayita shoved him back down onto the table, and none too gently either. Glancing between the two snarling men, Ayita studied them with a odd look in her amber eyes. Giving a odd noise that sounded like she was choking, the woman devolved into a hapless heap of giggles and howling laughter. Richard watched in utter confusion as his sister- who had been ready to go on warpath- was reduced to a tear of laughter. "What the bloody hell?" The former assassin murmured as he peered down at his baby sister.

"Two!" Giggling as she had fallen against Richard's table, Ayita was barely keeping her feet as she tried to catch her breathe. Gasping for air, the woman tried to explain herself between gales of snickering. "If anyone had said, as I suspect you said to him, to me would you not be reacting the exact same?" The wild woman quirked a brow.

"I would not. Don't be preposterous." Richard huffed with a fearsome glare that did nothing and only aggravated Ayita's case of the giggles.

Bobbing her head up and down in disagreement, Ayita burst into a gale of high pitched yelps before subsiding to giggles. But there was a serious note in her voice, that even giggles had a hard time taking away. "I was controlled when I set you after the thorn-tongued one. The pain was no less real, but..." Ayita shrugged and tilted her head, not looking at Remy so much as the girl he sheltered. "You both might as well lay them out on the table and measure them, or so my mate would say. Let the females deal with their own problems between each other." Clapping her hands over her mouth, Ayita fell to a bout of howls and cackles. Richard merely rolling his eyes and grumbling with distaste.

Finally Ayita regain some control of herself though the odd round of laughter broke through. The two were very similar in her eyes, and perhaps that where the problem lay for her and Marygold as well. Though it was not, and did not excuse the words Mary had said to her. Words that struck her deeply. "I will speak to Marygold however, there are words that still need said. I do not pretend to be anything but what I am." Ayita's laughter had fully subsided. Now there was a pained expression to her eyes as she seemed to shrink within herself. "I am shifting and constantly torn between the human and the creatures of earth, land, and sky. I do not expect others to understand, yet have been gifted with a few who do." Giving Mary a stern look she pointedly raised her ringed hand. "Death is not a joke to me, it never has been. I now have a mate- a husband-to-be- to stay alive for. I will kill to protect him and the cubs we will have."

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Operating Theater -- First Sub-Basement
Skills: Illusion Casting

Carolina was still expressing deep concern for injuring Antoinette and she sighed a little bit, stroking her friend’s forehead once. It was not Carolina’s fault by any means. It wasn’t even Bethany’s not truly.
”I’m made of tougher things. A broken nose will not stop me,” Antoinette said. Allison and others walked into the operating theater and addressed the crowd. It turns out someone by the name of Mesmero had behind the Mansion’s fight club. Antoinette looked at Carolina and squeezed her hand, hoping she would see now that Antoinette in no way blamed her or felt ill against her.
There was an increase of loud voices, despite Carolina’s urging that they all keep it down. Lance it seemed was not very happy that his father was here and offering aid. There was much Antoinette did not know of their relationship. For instance, she didn’t quite understand why someone, even with Bruce Banner’s blood, would speak so ill of them for saving his life. Of course, that was none of Antoinette’s business and everyone was entitled to react the way they wished. What Antoinette would give to see her father right now…
Dean spoke up again, conjuring an image to mind of what made him happy. Turns out Dean had a younger sibling he was rather close to. Antoinette focused on him and his few descriptive words. She vaguely remembered him telling a few stories of his sister as well and built off of that as well. She released Carolina’s hand and focused on a blank spot in front of them and brought Dean’s sister to mind. Of course with a picture it would have been much simpler but by some precious miracle, Antoinette was able to bring forth a perfect illusion of Dean’s little sister. Stupid little smile and all.
Dean would be able see his sister and hear her perfectly if she chose to speak. Of course he would not be able to physically touch her though. Still, Antoinette was pleased she could do something for Dean, even if it was this little. She hadn’t got to practice with her illusions much lately and it was a nice change of pace. Her right eye, the purple one, glowed brightly as she casted her illusion.

Bobbi blinked rapidly as the flash of light briefly blinded her. Shaking her head she glanced at a father and son duo who were having a bit of a to-do. She rolled her eyes but her attention was quickly caught as the blue dude told her that her blood could not be used. She frowned slightly, her past once again causing her trouble. With a shrug, she rolled the sucker in her mouth and went back to her desk perch. "Your loss, I'm sure some of these kids would love to get high," Bobbi said dryly.

What a fucking day.

SO absolutely and completely boring, sitting here watching the teens bitch and moan and few adults being all adulty. She felt like the biggest and fattest pimple on a pubescents acne ridden face. How much more could she stick out as different and weird and so very very unhelpful. She sighed and leaned back against the wall the table was up against. And all of a sudden there was a girl who popped up out of fucking nowhere.

"Shit y'all. Are we being attacked again?" But the girl didn't seem to do much at first. Obviously not a danger at the moment. "Aw fuck, that was just one-ah youse guys huh?" Was this what life with mutants was going to be like? Just random shit happening all the time forever? It was gonna be tough to get used to but at the very least it would be interesting. Never bored. It was a bit like being on LSD again.

Carolina Reed

Location: Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Carolina jumped slightly when she felt Ayita resting a hand on her shoulder for a moment, and looked towards her as she walked over to her brother, she wasn't sure what the sudden touch was for but she calmed down somewhat. Then Allison came in with Bethany who was being laid down on the table. She started to tense up a bit, Carolina of course knew that it really wasn't Beth's fault for her own actions but still she was uncomfortable with her being in the same room. Carolina tried to calm down a little bit as Annie spoke to her and smiled slightly towards her friend she was glad that she had forgiven her, and Dean agreed to have lunch with her though she could understand why he wanted to leave now. "We can talk more later.." Carolina said softly she had done a few things she still regrets a lot really and wanted to talk to Dean about them to.

As Pietro and Guin started to talk, she wasn't down in the sublevels earlier when the fighting had happened, fighting Beth and all of that one thing she could think of what Mesmero was interested in. "Think it was blueprints of Cerebro?" Carolina asked looking over towards Guin for a moment. She wasn't sure what else was in the mansion that someone was interested in aside from the Danger Room as well, looking over towards Beast as he got ready to start a blood transfusion for her and Allison. The arguments with Lance and his father were getting more and more on her nerves as she gripped the bedsheets tightly her fingers still having the weird tingly sensation and she started to feel dizzy again and wanted to vomit as well.

Bethany Bell

Bethany finally started to come to and opened her eyes slightly as she looked around the room, every inch of her body was aching as she slowly sat up a bit. Her head was probably hurting the most right now, as she looked over seeing Carolina there biting her bottom lip and quickly looked away. She regretted what she had done to her now, as she looked at the others in the room as they all seemed to be talking amongst themselves.

There were so many injured in the room more than she wanted to see as well she rubbed the back of her neck slightly and looked over towards her friend Sara. "Are you okay?" Bethany asked her, occasionally looking at Carolina who looked like she was tensing up since she was in the room with her and went back to laying back down on the bed and groaned again. She watched as Carolina was getting prepped for a blood transfusion as well.

Allison Andrews and Sara Grey

Location: Operating Theater

Allison didn't understand what Beast meant by Bobbi's past until she presented it herself. Then she understood. So it was all the more evident that she be the one to give blood. "Hook me up then." She awaited that as Dean had what seemed like a crisis. She was worried about him, but Carolina seemed more than willing to listen and hear and she had to give that to her.

Sara, meanwhile, stayed by Neil as he was able to hear again. She hoped he could heal without the use of hearing aids. She was being comforted and she could only feel sorry and angry. So when Beth asked her if she was ok, she shook her head. "No I am not. I'm upset that I nearly got Mira killed along with others. I'm pissed this Mesmero fuck got into my head. And I am now determined to see him brought down."

Allison didn't say anything. This was not the time to be her usual optimistic self. After all, they had just been dealt a blow that could have gone worse. There were seemingly no deaths. Just injuries that could and would heal. And the others seemed determined to bring the fight back to Mesmero. She wanted a piece of that action too, though she was worried she wouldn't be up to the ask. She was also worried about Ayita. She could only imagine what being controlled had done to her psyche. When she was able, hopefully, the two would talk.

Sara still had Neil's hand in hers. She felt responsible for him too. He seemed to mimic her in her attacks. She felt like he only did what he did because of her. And when Lance decided to attack his own father. "Are you fricken kidding me? We just had enough in-fighting to last us a decade. Quit it!" She felt herself getting riled up and it terrified her that she was not in control again. But she was. So she took a deep breath to make sure.

Allison glanced over at Lance and then to Guin, hoping she would step in. "Now is the time to rest and heal."

Michelle "Shelly" Diggby

Location: Sitting Room -> Operating Theatre
Skills:

Shelly, consumed with the condition of her diaries, had barely noticed everyone march down to the infirmary, she wandered down behind them at her own pace, the Book of Sin clutched to her chest. She really didn't think she needed all that much seeing to, maybe a couple of stitches in her scalp and a drip, not much could be done about broken rib but it was best to check with a professional, the "right" kind of Mutant might be able to make her fighting fit again in an instant.

Locked and isolated inside the elevator Shelly's thoughts turned to the Puppeteer's motivations, surely a more covert approach would have been more effective considering he was only controlling a minority of students. Considering all the fancy tech that was here, why not use that to your advantage? Shelly wondered if she was overestimating the talents of the puppeteer. Maybe it was that simple though, to sow dischordance and doubt among those here. Shelly forgave Ayita, it was perfectly reasonable to not blame her for hurting her as she wasn't in control, but did she forgive her in her heart? Could she look at Ayita and not feel the pain she appeared to inflict on her? And Shelly got the shitless end of the stick relatively speaking, she was still walking around. Imagine having to put your life on the line along side that guy that knocked you the fuck out? Emotionally scarring.

Perhaps he didn't account for the presence of Psychics that could discern between people acting of their own accord and those that weren't. But at Xavier's Mansion? Surely he wasn't that stupid. The suspicious gears in her mind churned, somethin was fucky but she couldn't put her finger on it.

The Elevator doors slid open as did the Medical bay's revealing that everyone was pretty much in high spirits, everyone seemed pretty down to kick ass, just as soon as they got themselves out of the supine position. She ploped herself on a bed, legs dangling of the side, placing her precious remaining book on the pillow. She was happy to wait as long as needed to be seen, she could be upright if she wanted and was hardly a priority.

Shelly opened her mouth to voice her concerns,

"..."

Maybe not right now.

"Shut up and leave me alone," Lance muttered, getting really really annoyed with people. Sara snapping at him was definitely not helping his temper at all. Though he did fall silent now, and instead of saying much of anything else just went to sort of glaring at Banner.

"Buddy, I will leave when you are not in critical condition and not a second before that."

"Of course not..."

"I get that Ayita, I never said you should, I was just trying to tell you that you were in the wrong in that situation, and telling you the difference of killing someone in self-defense as opposed to just killing them because you can. You had people try and stop you, the fact that you still killed her is a big difference. Not to mention I don't think you actually get how hallucinogens and drugs can effect the body considering the fact that you were comparing Wonderland's power to catnip. Which I can flat out tell you is a horrible comparison and I don't think you know what you are talking about. So no, I'm not going to take back what I said, because I know for a fact that you're wrong in what you were talking about. Yes I had someone messing with my head at that point, but that doesn't mean what I said was wrong. Not to mention, you dragged me out of the room where others were and basically threatened me to basically follow you, which I will be blunt is not something most people would do you know if they want to have a simple conversation about something. I am not going to have you sitting there telling me what to do. You think you know everything? You said something about me judging you for something I didn't know about? Well let me tell you this, I know more than you know, and you know absolutely nothing about me, or anything at all. So maybe next time you see about doing your own research on things as opposed to making drastic comments about people. And the reason I started getting mad at you today was you have a very sick and twisted sense of humor that sent someone out of the room, so why don't you just watch your mouth!" Mary snapped at her, her eyes flashing in anger at Ayita. Though there was something that was obvious, the beginning of what she had said had definitely been a lot calmer and wasn't yelling, but something caused Mary to end up practically yelling at Ayita.

Gambit took a deep breath, attempting to control his temper - and having moderate success at it. "Card Dick, I don't give a shit about you feeling the need to protect your sister from being called a bully. If she doesn't have skin thick enough to handle that, god fucking help her when someone tries to pressure her into prom sex, n'est-ce pas? And Goldie and Girly?" he paused, referring to Ayita as Girly. "Ya are actin' like a pair of enemies in a Disney Channel movie. This is medical. People in here are hurt - hurt real bad. So I love ya Goldie, but this can freaking wait until the two of ya are healed up and out of this room. If I hear more screaming, I'll help Hank sedate the pair of ya - same thing goes for Card Dick."

"...Sorry Remy..." Mary muttered, before curling up again, hearing what Guin, Pietro and Carolina were all talking about. She hadn't wanted to admit, she hadn't wanted to mention flat out what it was, but she couldn't avoid the issue. That had been what Mesmero was after, messing with everyone was just a bonus, and if everyone had killed each other that would have been even better for him.

"C'est bien, mon amie."

Mary had fallen silent completely now, and she was crying slightly again. Her head was pounding and she wasn't sure why fully still, and was being reminded of everything that she had caused. She had essentially handed over something that no one else on the team currently really had access to. It was her fault if Mesmero won and would end up taking over the world or something because of using a makeshift Cerebro. It would all be her fault, and she couldn't stop blaming herself over that.

Cyclops and Jean both glanced at each other over the conversation about what Mesmero likely was after. It likely was what he had grabbed, and if that was the case they couldn't wait too much time in going after him. He likely could get an army of people to work on building his very own Cerebro, so it could take anywhere from a few days to maybe even a few hours depending on how many people he got together. Though they at the least had to wait until the morning, since just about everyone really needed some rest in some form. "That is definitely a bad thing... Marygold, do you know if Mesmero ended up getting the blueprints for Cerebro?" Cyclops asked her calmly, looking over at her.

"...Yes, he did..." she said softly in response, looking more of at the wall now than anything else.

"....Do ya know what his time frame is chère?"

"No, I don't... But when you think about it... He likely isn't going to be able to get it built in the span of one night... I mean sure, he can probably easily get a lot of people under his control to help him, but still, Cerebro isn't that simple to build... We have probably 24 hours at the least before the thing is built. At least I think we likely would have that long..."

"Alright mon amie. I'll go get Xavier on it with Cerebro - find us a location. We'll head out in the morning."

"Alright..."

"Don't worry Marygold," Jean said, nodding her head slightly before turning her attention to the others in the room. Beast simply set up a direct blood transfusion so that Carolina would get better more quickly, and Jean decided to lead Ayita over to the other side of the room, away from Marygold and onto a bed. For the sake of everyone's sanity, it would be best for the two of them to be separated. After doing that, Jean went over to where Sara was. "It'll be okay Sara, we'll stop him, we did 5 years ago, we will do it again. Except this time we have a larger group of people to do it with, so it should be easier. We'll get him in the morning, you'll see..."

"Yes, tomorrow is when we can deal with him, however tonight everyone needs to relax and heal. Those however who are not injured and who do not need to be in here must leave. It is getting fairly crowded in here."

Mary nodded her head slightly, before she got up off of the bed that she was on. She was one of the least injured people in the room, so she was figuring that she could leave the room so that there was more space in the area. There also was the whole thing where she didn't exactly want to be in the same room as Richard and Ayita at the moment.

"Goldie, ya sure ya should be gettin' up right now? Ya took a beatin'."

"I'm fine Remy... and no I didn't, just got one sort of slash from Logan and knocked out by Rogue using her powers against me. Since it sounds like you remember that fight differently than I do..."

"Ya got slashed by Wolverine, drained by Rogue, and fucked by Mesmero mon amie."

"Whatever, I'm fine, don't worry... Just a major headache right now, and as Hank said this room is really crowded, so I'm going to go," she said, shaking her head and walking out of the room. Gambit ended up following along after her as well as Storm and Rogue.

Cyclops looked at everyone in the room again, "We'll head out tomorrow, get some rest if you expect to go after him," he said simply, before he too left the room.

Neil Spellman

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Now that he could hear again, Neil was learning all sorts of things about some of the people in the room - which wasn't that impressive, given that he didn't know Bobbi and the ex-X-Men team. His eyes widened a bit as she commented about people in the room loving to get high, his eyes then flickering over to the Stark kid in the corner. He had seen the tabloids. That statement probably rang true for her. Beth had woken up and she was checking in on Sara, with Neil looking at the beautiful girl and hoping she was fine too.

Sara's rage comforted him, ironically. She was a spitfire and hearing that she still was like that... that Mesmero hadn't extinguished her flame... It caused Neil to smile a little bit, looking at her. Yes, he was feeling incredibly guilty and miserable, but his crush was holding his hand and knew who he was. For a teenage boy, it was an emotional tornado in his head at the moment but at least his life wasn't a complete disaster at the moment. It was only 99% of one. "H-hey... It's not your fault," he told Sara softly. His stomach felt like it was going to curl into itself as Ayita and Mary started to fight as well as Banner and his son.

At least Beast had the sense to kick out everyone who wasn't too terribly injured. Neil figured he would have to stay in medical. Even though Jean had managed to restore his hearing with the hearing aids, every bit of his body ached and felt like it was on fire. All of the damage from Storm's attacks and all had really taken a toll on him. He didn't even know if he would be able to go help fight Mesmero in the morning, but he wanted to. It would be a way to atone for what he himself had done to Mira.

Guin Stark

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: Mental Link

"Hey, Lando?" Guin called out, trying to get his attention. She could hear Mary's fight with Ayita and she would have tried to intervene there as well, but it seemed that it was already being handled. Marygold left medical as well and Guin knew that the odds of Pietro letting her leave were slim. She still hadn't had her head injury checked out - though she was certain that it was nothing and Pietro was overreacting. "Ground state, okay? You can't be in the excited state for too long - you know those transitions hardly last," she told him, using an analogy from chemistry to essentially tell him to calm down.

Pietro was currently glaring somewhat at Bobbi, partially wanting to smack the daylights out of her for mentioning stuff like that. He didn't really react to the arguments around him, he just glared at her. Piet you okay? Why are you glaring at the newbie? Guin had heard Bobbi's offer of drugs and she was trying not to think about it. She had left those days back in the past. She then nodded a bit at Carolina as she came to the same conclusion she had, as did others soon enough. Mesmero had gotten Cerebro. He was already able to control half of the team without it - with it, he could control everyone in the world simultaneously. He could be everyone.

It was a horrifying image.

I don't like her Guina. Guin raised an eyebrow, looking at him. Is this because of me? Maybe... She hesitated slightly. Piet I'm not that person anymore... I know that Guina. Good... Pietro just nodded his head in response to that.

Dean Kesseli

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Dean wasn't sure what to say, as Annie conjured up an image of his baby sister, Carrie. He laughed slightly, looking at the stupid little smile on her face. She really was adorable - not a lot of guys were comfortable using that word to describe one's little sibling, but Carrie never annoyed him or anything. He just wanted to make sure that she was safe. He had lost one sister already, maybe forever because of what Richard had done, and he wasn't going to lose another one. And he wasn't going to let Carrie lose her big brother either. He had helped the X-Men during the O.M.E.N. crisis - he had done his part for mutant kind. Now the best that Dean could do would be to start over. Not everyone could be a superhero and that was okay. He wanted to avoid the speedster curse that was going on during missions as well, too.

"Thanks, Annie," he said softly, feeling a little calmer than he had before. He gave her a slight smile, but it didn't shake his resolution in his choice to leave. He would come back to help them finish out the musical, but he was done being a member of the X-Men. And once the musical finished up, he wasn't going to come back to this place. Maybe if he had kids one day and the world still wasn't ready for mutants, he would. But for now - Dean wanted to go and be with his family. He wanted to explore who he was without Xavier's Institute - to live and participate in this world in a way that didn't require yellow spandex. He then nodded a bit at Bobbi. "Y-yeah... Annie makes illusions," he explained.

There was more yelling and fighting, causing Dean to grimace slightly. Carolina needed it to be quiet. Thankfully, Beast decided it was time to kick them all out. Given that he was a speedster, he healed faster than other people and given that they were going after Mesmero in the morning... he wanted to talk to Xavier beforehand, to explain to him that he was thankful but that this would be his last day at the mansion. Getting out of bed shakily, Dean went over and kissed Carolina's forehead. "I'll text you," he promised her, before he went to leave medical.

Standing in the doorway, he looked back at everyone. He would miss these people. A tear fell down his face. "...Bye guys... I love you all," he said, before he left the first sub-basement and went to find Xavier, in order to say farewell.

Richard Laine & Ayita Dyrkin

Ayita had flinched as Mary's voice rose to a scream. If she had ears she would have flattened them at this unnecessary racket, it was one trait of the humans she did not care for. If she had hackles they would have raised in anger at Mary's self righteous speech. Stepping towards Mary as she made to lead, Ayita was yanked by as her brother fought to sit up. A hand fastened about her arm, which she snarled at it. "Ayita. Leave it, damn you." Richard's eyes were sharp with anger and Ayita faltered. The anger was directed at her. Why? What had she done?! It was Mary who was snapping and blowing her top like all the other humans!

"She is a insolent-!" The younger Laine's jaw snapped shut as Richard cuffed his sister hard upside the head.

Snake like eyes glared in annoyance. "And you are not? Sit. Wait for someone to tend to those burns and shut the hell up." The Adder growled deeply, showing a temper he rarely released on the sister he was so protective of. "That bastard was damn right on when he called you both Disney Villains. This isn't the place to have you starting a bitching contest and I thought you were above those." "I didn't-!" "You did. Perhaps you are human where it counts. Your mouth. Now allow someone who knows something about your incapability to say things in way that others can understand to speak for you." "She's just-!" "I don't give a flying pig. Leave it." Richard snarled with particular temper over Ayita's protests.

Wisely Ayita shut up as her head snapped away from Richard. Childishly refusing to look at him as she struggled to keep her cutting thoughts in check. It wasn't often she got this upset but Richard was siding with that thorn-tongued bitch! She had tried to explain it and that wasn't enough! Why couldn't he let her deal with it? She wasn't incompetent! Wrapping her arms about herself the younger woman only remained because if she didn't, Ayita was fairly sure Richard would drag her back and in worse shape. Making her wait longer for the hunt to pick up again. She couldn't afford that. She couldn't afford this threat remaining about to mess with her head and making her potentially attacking her family again. That had already happened once with Wonderland after all. Flinching that that reminder, it took all her nerves not to shift. She felt exposed and hunted in this room. Anyone and everyone would attack and call her a monster, a beast. A nightmare that would be better off dead. Murderer. That was what she was after all. If she hadn't killed Wonderland Oshea would still be dead. The virus would have never been released even if Wonderland did live. Nothing would have changed. That life she snuff out would have gone on. Ayita's fingers bit into her shoulders, her jaw tightening. Monster. How could she ever forget that is what she was? Even among other mutants she was a horror. Even Richard saw it!

Shoving himself to his feet, Richard wanted to gut his sister. Rare were the times that Ayita was the cause of his temper, and he usually tempered it when it was her in the wrong. But she had gotten her instincts as the dominate bitch up and Marygold wasn't understanding or backing down which only made the entire situation worse. Women, he blamed women for this in general. Taking a moment to steady himself against the pain and waves of vertigo, the Adder reached out to stop someone from leaving. He didn't give a damn who, but he figured the woman called Rogue would be good enough. Gripping her arm, Richard jerked his head as he staggered towards the door. Motioning he wanted a private word. He would have preferred to speak to Remy but he would work with what he got. "Won't take long." The Adder grumbled, his voice quiet and private and gritted through his teeth against the pain. "And I'm going to explain to my sister the fact weaknesses do have to be pointed out sometimes. But you might want to damn well tell Marygold that my sister does care about Wonderland's death and I'm most likely going to have to sacrifice my nights to deal with the nightmares again." Giving Rogue an apologetic look he sighed. "I'd tell Marygold myself, but... I'm not walking out of this room. Wonderland told Ayita the worst damn thing she could when she died. Told her she wasn't a mutant or a human, just a beast. A mindless animal. Our mother called her a monster, fuel to the fire so to speak. She's- Ayita's- got nightmares bad for a time afterwards about confirming those... facts. Now their going to start up again. There's nothing she regrets more than killing other human beings. Though I say it was a good call. One woman verses thousands if that strain had been released..." Richard shrugged absently. "But I'm a bastard and know it. Ayita saw it that way when she attacked, but now she's going to start double guessing herself into a mess again." Running a hand through his hair, Richard shook his head releasing Rogue. "Sorry for interrupting you, darling." Limping back to the table he had been sitting on where Ayita was still sitting.

Goll-eeeee!

This was better than a daytime drama. Everyone was yelling at everyone. There was so much infighting going on. She stopped thinking it was amusing though when she realized she was about to be a part of all of this. She hoped they could get their shit together, otherwise, Mancini wasn't going to need any sort of mind control to break up this group. She could see things coming to a collapse.

Bobbi popped up off her desk again, figuring it was likely time to go. Well, upstairs - not completely. She was going to give them a chance, after all, it was tough coming back from something that fucked with your brain. Before leaving though she approached Ayita in the moments when Richard had stepped aside to speak with someone. She crouched down in front of the girl. Looking up into her eyes, Bobbi gave her the charmingest lopsided grin. "Heya," she said. Her voice was soft and low, not quite a whisper. "Sorry to overhear all that stuff that was being said. Was hard not to. However, I know a thing or two about what happens when your brains is in an altered state. I know what sorts of things can happen to a person. I seen 'em. I done 'em. Lots of things I regret. If you want to talk about it, well guess what honey - I still gots two ears." She tugged on one of her lobes and realized she still had the cotton balls inside of them. She took them out with a smirk. "Fuck me. Anyway, see ya 'round hun."

Standing up, she was ready to leave when Richard came back. "See ya' 'round too hot stuff." She winked at him before giving the pair a small wave. Beast directed that everyone should head out and so she followed the group, crunching down on the dwindling bits of her sucker. "God damn, what a day. Y'all got any whiskey?" she asked as they exited the operating theatre.
