How did you discover your powers: Valery's parents had taken the family on holiday to Montréal. They were visiting family and while the adults were inside discussing politics, Valery and her cousins had gone outside to play. In the midst of their light hearted and spirited fun, the neighborhood bullies had come by. They towered over the Simmons children and soon, the bullies were chasing after them as they took off at a run. Valery tripped and fell over a branch once she reached the end of the block, but no matter how hard they tried to throw rocks at her, they always seemed to miss - as if a shield was deflecting them.

Valery didn't understand what had happened. She reached out and felt a force of energy surrounding her like a barrier - energy that no one else could see and was virtually impossible to detect. She decided to keep it a secret, yet when she was flung from her bicycle and emerged from it unscathed without a scratch a few months later, her parents realized that their daughter was indeed a mutant.

General History: Valery was the middle child in her family, often overlooked or forgotten. Her elder brother, a promising hockey player, took up most of her parents attention. And when it wasn't him, it was her younger brother, a genius on the autism spectrum with peculiar fixations at time. As long as she stayed out of trouble, she was allowed to do whatever she liked. It was only when the teachers sent notes home that they truly paid attention to her.

Her best friend growing up in Nova Scotia - a boy - was the son of the local police chief. Their friendship was strained once Valery discovered her powers and confessed them to him, since his mother had been killed by a mutant. He told her that she had to hide her true nature - that no one could ever know that she was a mutant and that he would make sure an exception was made for her when mutants were forced into captivity. For an impressionable small child, Valery believed him. When her parents discovered her powers, she screamed and cried, afraid that they would send her to something like a concentration camp - or a mutant detention center.

Instead, worried for their daughter in a world that hated mutants, her parents sent her to the Xavier Institute in New York. They were nervous to send their daughter to America, where mutant laws were tight, but the reputation of the school exceeded others internationally and it would keep her closer to home - somewhat at least. She spent six years at the Xavier Institute, learning about her powers and expanding them. She had a relatively normal life - having her heart broken by a few guys and a few girls - while also training to fight.

Although she had the chance to, Valery didn't join the X-Men. It wasn't her calling and according to Xavier, she didn't have the right temperament for it. So instead she traveled the world - learning skills and meeting new people. It exposed her to reality and she matured in the process, developing leadership skills and self discipline - traits she lacked while a sheltered student in New York. She was working as a bartender in a mutant friendly bar in New York City, hiding fugitive mutants from the police, when she received a phone call from her old teacher, asking to talk.

Along with a few others, Valery was asked to help create an organization independent of the X-Men called the Mutant Underground. Its purpose was to help mutants in trouble get to safety. Her connections and her abilities made her an ideal candidate, and ready to finally help those of her kind, Valery agreed to his offer, taking the name Veil. She has been running the Washington D.C. station ever since, specializing in quite literally making wanted mutants disappear from the prying eyes of the human authorities.

How did you discover your powers: Although they day changed her life, Electra still cannot remember what the argument had been about. She had been at the park, playing with some of the kids that lived in the neighborhood, when Connor pushed her off of the play structure. She hit the ground and scuffed up her knees, but she was mad. The little girl got up, yelling at him in Greek, and she scooped up some bark to throw at him. But when she threw the bark, it was surrounded by what looked like green smoke and when it touched Connor, he came down with an instant case of hay fever.

General History: Electra's father was from Greece and met her mother at an art gallery in New York City. That's the extent of what she knows about him, as he left before she was born and never returned. Her mother's new boyfriend was present for the birth and Electra ended up with his surname by a mistake on the nurse's part that was never corrected. Her life was relatively simple and happy, yet her powers emerged at a young age and her mother kicked her out of the apartment. A few days later, her mother had left the city entirely, leaving a 6 year old Electra alone to fend for herself on the streets.

She lived with a few other abandoned kids and they called her Sunshine, due to her gleaming golden hair. It wasn't a nickname due to a sunny disposition or anything like that. Most of the other kids were mutants and they banded together, scavenging for food and stealing what they needed to get by. None of them wanted to go into the system - nothing good happened to mutant kids there. Sure, a few of them talked about trying to go to Xavier's Institute or a mutant friendly school, but there was no guarantee that they could all stay together. They were a family.

However, they couldn't stay in New York forever. After the Incident when aliens came down and razed the city, it wasn't safe anymore for them. The small little family hitchhiked out of town and moved south, eventually ending up in Washington D.C. The older kids started getting jobs, somehow managing for a few months to get a tiny studio apartment for them all to live in. Those years in the apartment were the happiest in Sunshine's life. And also the most traumatic.

A little under a year after they moved in, Purifiers realized that the apartment complex was friendly to mutant and tried to flush out the occupants by burning it to the ground. They lost everything. Police incorrectly blamed the mutants tenants for the fire and they were taken away to a mutant detainment facility. Sunshine spent the next year of her life behind bars, released largely only because she was a minor - and her friends, the adults, are still in the Mutant Super Max.

She's been alone and struggling to get by in the Washington D.C. area ever since.

They were legally orphans and were separated when Havok was adopted. He lived a relatively normal life, graduating with a degree in geophysical sciences from Old Landon College. At school, he fell in love with Lorna Dane (Polaris) and she eventually convinced him to join the Mutant Underground. The two are currently in an on again, off again relationship.

When she was a teenager, she was kidnapped and imprisoned by the demon Belasco in Limbo. She escaped with her mutant abilities and fled to the United States, only to be arrested by ICE. Emma Frost and the Hellfire Club caught wind of her in the system and broke her out of the detention center. As Magik refused to join the Hellfire Club, Shaw took her to Sinister and performed the Hound protocol on her.

After the emergence of her powers, Emma used them to excel in all aspects of her life. She eventually became the majority stockholder of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate, which was renamed Frost International after herself. Despite her youth, Emma became a chairperson of the board of Frost International and its chief executive officer. Frost International was principally involved in transportation (both the building of ships and aircraft and their use for freight and passenger transport) and electronics. Emma's beauty and talents brought her an invitation to join the Hellfire Club and a prominent figure, Sebastian Shaw, became smitten with her. Together, they murdered the highest ranking human members and formed the mutant only Inner Circle, with Emma taking the leadership position of White Queen.

Growing up, Reeva’s only friend was a girl named Benizer, they protected and loved each other. One day Reeva and Benizer got into a fight and soon after were attacked by a gang of Purifiers. Reeva attempted to summon her powers to defend them but her anger about the fight with Benizer got in the way and her abilities would not come. Benizer was stabbed in the confrontation and all Reeva could do was weep as her friend bled out and died in the street. Eventually, she took certain risks that led to building her wealth and social status until she was able to earn a seat in the Inner Circle.

Summary: Erik Lehnsherr was born to a Jewish family in Germany. In 1944, Erik is forcibly separated from his parents by Nazi SS-troops in German-occupied Poland, specifically at the Auschwitz concentration camp. Under this stress, Lehnsherr's powers began to manifest. Even with four guards pulling him away, he managed to bend open a heavy metal gate separating him from his parents before being knocked unconscious by another guard.

In 1949, Erik emigrates to America where he saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time, thinking it to be the herald of America as the land of tolerance and peace. Erik becomes disillusioned with this fictitious image of America and returns to Europe to pursue his goal of hunting down the Nazi that he believed killed his mother.

In 1963, Magneto was accused of killing John F. Kennedy and was imprisoned by Trask Industries below the Pentagon's centre court. On Friday, February 4, 1964, a trial was held against Lehnsherr where President Johnson noted in a closed-door meeting with the Warren Commission that their prime suspect - Lehnsherr - was in custody. His private trial began the next week. Recently declassified court records indicate that Lehnsherr could not refute being at Dealey Plaza's grassy knoll but he insisted that he did not assassinate the President. As the court ordered him to prove his mutant abilities, Lehnsherr bent a metal crowbar. It took the court five minutes to settle down. Lehnsherr told the court that he did know who killed the President and that he knows who she is and she is hiding in plain sight.

The court found Lehnsherr guilty of first-degree murder and conspiring to assassinate Kennedy. He was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences in a federal correctional facility with no possibility of parole. Throughout the 60's Lehnsherr had destroyed three holding cells until 1971 when Trask Industries built an escape proof cell that kept him imprisoned. He was later recaptured by Canadian government agents and imprisoned in the facility where Experiment X was conducted. In the process of the experiments, his age was reversed slightly, but he managed to escape with Charles Xavier. He returned with a small team and they destroyed the facility, ending the program.

This mission inspired him to form the Brotherhood of Mutants, as he parted ways with his friend and warned Charles to not cross him. Ever since, he has been working tirelessly in order to ensure that mutants inherit the Earth - even at the expense of his children, Pietro and Wanda. Of course, he has other children that he hasn't told them about. One of them is a geology major at university. He keeps tabs on all of his offspring...just preferring to watch from a distance and ensure their safety and success. His success with the Brotherhood gave him the influence to join the Hellfire Club and he was quickly made the White King, joining the Inner Circle.
Extras: The Inner Circle often has jokes revolving around the fact that he is never around.

Summary: As a baby, Polaris' mutant powers manifested in the worst way possible at the worst time - on a plane. She caused the plane crash that killed her mother and her step-father. Her step-father's sister and husband raised her, unaware of her true parentage, that she was the daughter of Magneto. Her hair had been green from birth, marking her as a mutant, and while others tended to shy away from their mutant powers, Polaris was always very proud of hers. She eventually attracted the attention of her father, who sent Mastermind to hypnotize her. The X-Men eventually managed to rescue her and Professor X revealed her true parentage to her. She lived at the X-Mansion for a while, going onto college where she met her best friend and true love, Havok. She convinced him to join the Mutant Underground with her after graduation, where Polaris led the Atlanta Station. She ended up leaving the organization for the Hellfire Club, feeling that mutants would not be safe unless they had a country of their own.

Summary: Essex was originally a normal human living in 19th Century England where he studied at Oxford University to become a biologist. He married his wife Rebecca, and the two had a young son named Adam. However, once Adam died at the age of four from numerous birth defects, this caused Essex to dive deeper into his work to bring about the perfection of human evolution. He eventually crossed paths with a being who one day would be known as Apocalypse, and he joined forces with him when he said that his theories on evolution were closer then they appeared, and eventually gained abilities with the help of Apocalypse. His wife Rebecca ended up dying, with Essex asking for forgiveness from her, but her last word to him was calling him Sinister, and thus giving him his name. Flash forward more then a hundred years, and Essex continued his research into human evolution, sometimes on more then unwilling people. He ended up entering a relationship with Eliette Theriot, and she ended up having his son Jacques, who never really knew who his father truly was for a long time. In the 2000s, he ended up having his help sought out by Gambit, who in exchange for help controlling his powers, assembled and led the group known as the Marauders down to the Morlock Tunnels, and hence forth caused the first Mutant Massacre that nearly wiped them out. Afterwards, he continued his experiments, before eventually meeting up with Sebastian Shaw, and together they created the Hound program that resulted in them kidnapping more then a few mutants, such as Nightcrawler and Magik, and brainwashing them.

How did you discover your powers: When Callie turned fifteen she was in high school when she was leaving for school for the day, there were a group of men who were Purifiers somehow found out that her mother was a mutant. She started to be pushed and shoved around by a few of them, when she was cornered in the alleyway Callie's power suddenly turned on. As electricity was released from her hands, sending two of the men several feet away. Killing one on accident, the group of men suddenly freaked out by her and they all fled the scene.

After that event Callie and her family then moved back to her hometown for awhile, she was still unable to control her powers, and eventually her mother Katalina knowing where she would be safe and going there from time to time to do a few speeches and occasionally teaching there. Callie was sent to Xavier's Institute where she got a better grasp on her powers.

General History: Callie was born and raised in Buffalo New York with her mother Katalina Johnson and her father, and twin brothers she is the oldest of them. Callie's mother worked as a teacher from time to time, while her father worked as a police officer of the city. Growing up Callie was always a bit of the wild child usually acting more like one of the boys more than anything. She grew up in a nearly all boy house after all. Callie however usually ended up getting into quiet a few fights as well, getting nearly expelled because of it.

Callie ended up getting home schooled for a year before going back to a public school, she however was still very close to her mother. Then when she turned fifteen the whole incident with the Purifiers happened Katalina and her father decided to move. And the safest place she thought would be was her hometown back in Red Lake Pennsylvania where she found out that her mother was actually a mutant after they had moved. She was fairly close to her cousin Olivia who happened to be in the same town as well, when she found out her cousin had died Callie did take it fairly hard as well.

Callie was still having a very hard time to control her powers, her mother decided that it was best to have her go to Xavier's Institute where she occasionally did teach from time to time. Once she was old enough Callie graduated, though she never did join the X-Men, she didn't like wearing the whole spandex thing either. She eventually got a job as a car mechanic from a family friend in New York City. Where Callie was eventually approached with a job opportunity with helping the Mutant Underground Cell out in Washington DC which she accepted.

How did you discover your powers: Leighton has yet to discover she is a mutant. Granted, there were probably times when it maybe shoudl have dawned on her, such as not being bothered by the cold as much as others, but she doesn't really pay attention to trivial stuff like that. She considers mutants freaks and weirdos and wants no part in that.

General History: Leighton, as the youngest child in the Brooks household, was spoiled rotten from the first moments she had breath. Anything the little girl wanted, she got. As such, she was provided with the best education money could buy. All throughout her life, Leighton had hopes placed on her to be the best. Not a step below.

So Leighton worked hard. She earned top marks in school. She excelled at certain sports. If she failed, she blamed the coach or the other girls and got mommy or daddy to disband the program or club she could not be a part of. This made her, more or less, public enemy number 1. Either people wanted to be her friend to avoid her wrath, or they gave her a wide berth.

She didn't let that dissuade her though. She made people's lives a living hell. With her poison tongue, she lashed out to anyone or anything that had ears. Be it teachers, schoolmates, friends, or family. Even mutants, freaks with weird powers who should just crawl into a hole and be done with it, as far as she was concerned.

So Leighton, still in the high school elite, cheer captain, head of the debate club and the mock trial, who secrelty doesn't know what she wants out of life. Having been the best (or destroyed the rest) had left her in a grey area. Who was she? What could she be? She would never let it show, but she questioned these things almost daily. Because a part of her did care and did want to do something and for that thing to have meaning. Maybe all it would take is for something drastic to happen.

How did you discover your powers: Demetria was 14 years old at the time, just starting out in high school, when she first discovered what she could do. It had been an accident, and there were instances of things happening every so often. She'd feel really cold after getting a small cut and the injury disappeared, but it was nothing compared to what happened. Her family didn't live too far away from where she went to school, so she was walking home after staying a little while longer, before she ended up with someone grabbing onto her wrist, and the guy was not someone she knew, and the guy was trying to rob her. She wasn't very strong, but she still tried to break free of his grip, but it was useless, and that was when her powers kicked in. The air grew cold suddenly, and the next thing she knew, the guy had turned into a frozen statue, and a second later, his body fell over and shattered the instant it hit the ground.

General History:

Demetria Clarke was born the only child of Christian and Margaret Clarke in Honolulu. Being the only child, her family tended to give her a lot of things, however they also knew to teach her to work for what she had, so she grew up to not be a spoiled rotten person, and she did appreciate what it was that she had. Her father was an Anti-Mutant protester, and her mother was too. They weren't as bad as the Purifiers, but Demetria never was able to understand why they were against mutants in general.

Then came the incident when she was 14, and she didn't even realize as she raced home that her hair had gone white, or her eyes had changed to blue. When she entered the house, the air around her had gone completely cold, the door handle froze the instant she touched it, but she ignored it. When her father saw her, that was the end of it. He tried to turn her over to the Purifiers, locking her up in her room so she couldn't escape, but she did. Demetria smashed the window, managed to create an ice slide of sorts to get out of her second-story window, and ran for it.

She was alone, scared, and she knew that she couldn't stay in Honolulu anymore, she just had to find her way off the island. After a few days, she had found a ship that was heading for the Continental US, and stowed-away on board. It didn't take her long to get caught, but the captain of the ship was sympathetic towards her, and he let her stay as long as she helped out around the boat. Even once they reached their destination, she asked if she could stay on, not even caring if she got paid or anything, and he let her, and he was glad that he did. When she was 16, the boat got caught in a nasty storm, the waves crashing into it, and it caused the ship to crash into something, creating a large hole in the side. At this point, she'd been learning to use her powers on her own, and now they were needed more than ever. She plugged the hole in the hull up, using her powers over ice to freeze it over so the ship didn't sink, at least until they reached the nearest port. The crew dubbed her a hero to them all, and she liked the idea of helping others.

She stayed on with the crew for a few more years until she was 20, when she ended up catching the eye of Serval Industries who were putting together a corporate superhero team, and they asked her to join it. A little hesitant at first, she eventually decided to join the team known as X-Factor. This gave her the opportunity to help out those who really needed it, not just the crew on a ship, and with the help of Serval Industries, she was able to go to college, getting a degree in medicine. She enjoyed her time with X-Factor, making a few friends along the way on the team, but after 4 years of working with them, she realized that she needed to help others like her, having heard of the Mutant Underground, and she eventually found her way there, joining up with them.

She had been on a mission for the Underground when she was caught by OMEN, and her worst fears were realized. Demetria hadn't been that scared since she discovered her powers. Though things were a little bit better once she made friends with one of the agents, Frederick Flynn, or as she liked to call him, Freddie. Eventually she was with those who were rescued from OMEN, and even though she had asked if he wanted to come with her, she parted ways with Flynn who went to go work for SHIELD.

After that, she began to trust even less people, never telling anyone where she really came from, and she didn't really care to answer anyone if they used her actual name. She didn't want to get caught and turned into a lab rat ever again.

How did you discover your powers: We've all heard the stories of mutants, or other beings, attaining their power from a stressful encounter. Bullies, explosions, parental abuse, you name it and it's probably happened. Maximillian was different however. His powers didnt emerge from a place of stress, fear, or abusive force thrust upon him; his powers emerge from a place of tranquility. Often times when searching for an answer to one of life's many curveballs, Max turned to meditation as the answer. He claimed he could 'search the cosmos and they would gift upon him clarity'. Ofcourse this wasnt literal...until it was.

After practice one day, Max decided to hit the books, reading old books that were written in Latin. Hed taken this dead language at school and knew the only way not to lose it was to keep in practice with it, like translating old tomes. His adrenaline was still pumping and it made it rather difficult to concentrate on his translations so he took to meditation. He mentally spoke out to the cosmos and for once, they answered back. Some unknown force spoke to him, showing him what appeared to be words in his mind. Max immediately stopped and ran to scribble down the phrase written. Unable to translate it he threw the paper in frustration towards his full length mirror. The page now read "Magi fistula." Max spoke the words aloud and nothing happened, until he tried them in reverse "Alutsif Igam" energy began to form and distort in the area of his right hand, elongating and finally taking shape of a fighting cane. He had successfully conjured a weapon.

General History:

Max grew up an only child. He was raised by his mother and father who did nothing but want to support their child, if not in their own way. Having always been a very studios kid, he was labeled a "Nerd" or "Geek" and thus began to be bullied at Middle School. He hid the bruises and shot ego for a while from his parents, until one day his mother caught a glimpse from under his sleeve. They brought it up to the principal and nothing came of it. That summer his dad was intent on helping Max by enrolling him in the Institute for Martial Arts. Hoping his new found skills would help Max fend against school Bullies.

That summer Max trained his mind and body, quickly picking up some moves to help against bigger opponents. His father may have intended this as a way to help himself, but Max viewed it as a means to help others at the school. Upon returning from summer break the bullies were at it again, this time they didnt win. Max used his knowledge of Martial Arts to subdue the menace and to proclaim that if anyone was to attempt this around him again that he would personally see it stopped. From there life began to look up, he didnt pay much mind to the mutant struggles as they were hardly discussed at home.

Going into High School the politics around mutants became more and more prevalent. His parents always spoke the word with such venom, that max dared not speak against it. He didnt quite understand the hostility towards them, how was it any different from say...a homosexual? That is to say, himself. His views were best kept secret as well as his sexuality, that was one thing his parents didnt have to control. He pressed forward, learning Latin and continuing his Martial Arts; began taking photography classes and was later gifted a camera. Now 17, Max has awoken to his new power and attempted to contact the cosmos everyday. Sometimes it was silence, other times guidance, and only on three occasions were words of power given.

When practicing his conjugation of fire, his mother walked in and proceeded to scream and cause a ruckus. His father came rushing in and saw that his son, no, this vile creature, was using powers within his household. Max quickly found out his parents were Purifier sympathizers and they immediately called the local gang to attempt to take their sun away. Max barely escaped his house, grabbing his bag that contained a few items, and then roughing it out in the world. He started hiding and sleeping amongst the homeless, as his friends turned him away. He stole food from stores that weren't heavily guarded, and attempted to make a life for not only himself, but any mutants that he came across.

Through meditation and practice, he is gifted "words of power" that must first be inscribed onto a paper, book, etc. The words must then be spoken backwards (as they are presented) in order to be able to later conjure the item/spell. The Cosmos arent always keen to give out their secrets and thus Max must get stronger before he can continue to unlock more of the worlds mysteries.

How did you discover your powers: James's mutation manifested quietly when he hit puberty. Suddenly, scapes and cuts closed as soon as they appeared and bruises faded almost immediately. He wrote it off, not really noticing them, until he took a nasty spill from a tree and broke his ankle but was on his feet on minutes. He rationalized it as just having blown it out of proportion but it happened again when he tripped and broke his arm in high school. The arm, after a rough set, fixed itself in minutes. After the news about mutants and the danger they pose, James kept his ability to himself.

General History:

James Kingston grew up in a family of tradesmen: electricians, plumbers, mechanics, welders. You name it, at some point a Kingston has done it. They scoffed at the idea of intellectualists and their lofty colleges. After all, why spend thousands of dollars on fancy classes when you can just learn to do it from a tradesman? The Kongstons could fix their homes, rewire their electronics, upkeep their cars, and fix their own plumbing. How many college students could say that at graduation.

James was different. Just after his birth, his mother passed away due to an aggressive infection resistant to most antibacterial options available to a new mother. Her life insurance covered her funeral and the rest automatically deposited into a college fund for her child. James, left with only her locket with a pick of his parents together, insisted on going despite some of the teasing he got from the rest of them. He practically grew up in his father's auto repair shop, jumping right into the Kingston trade as early as ten. He maintained a close relationship with his father through the years and man always encouraged James tendency to tinkering, even if it didn't always go as planned.

When he graduated high school, his father sent him to Washington D.C. to help his unlce with his recently opened business as a temporary electrican. Reluctant to leave his friends and family before his first semester of college, James agreed when his father pointed out the experience would be helpful both with his degree and his job afterwards. He kept busy over the summer, his Uncle contracted to wire the rapidly expanding suburban neighborhoods popping up around the capital at the time. He kept in closet contact with his friends but his father's schedule and his kept missing so they resolved to catch up again before he left to California for school.

It was his friends who sent him an article headlined “Kingston Fix It Fire - No Survivors.” Seven dead, fine customers, a mechanic, and the owner, Dallas Kingston. James struggled with the death, overwhelmed with funeral arrangements and will executions and life insurance payouts. James delayed his college plans a year as he grieved.

Afterwards, he threw himself into his schooling. He pushed himself and dual majored in both mechanical and electrical engineering, graduating on time and moving back in with his Uncle for a formal apprenticeship with his company before he returned home and opened his own shop in his his father's honor. But shortly after arriving, James's uncle revealed his Purifier sympathies. James just has to keep his head down until the apprenticeship is over.

James doesn’t really know much about Ice Queen except she has a bit of an attitude and everything she’s known has been thrown out the door.
Spirit Box laughs a lot, is endearingly quirky, and, as an added bonus, is incredibly easy on the eyes. There’s still plenty to learn about him―who is this “Ben”?―but that’s the fun of a new (hopefully more than) friendship.
Caduceus respects Stretch because he puts so much of himself into everything he’s doing but he definitely thinks the man could use some chill time.Sunshine is rude, disrespectful, and lashes out at anything she can but thats just because of her situation, in his useless opinion. He fully believes having a community now will help in the long run. He just hopes they can handle her that long.
How this boy is still alive is beyond Caduceus but Tome has managed to leave a definite impression. Caduceus is seriously considering dragging a fire extinguisher everywhere he goes with Tome..

How did you discover your powers:

Byron himself didnt discover his powers, so much as his parents did. His mother spent many nights listening to the South African rains, as it would soothe her unborn child. When Byron was finally born, there was said to be a great flood that ruined some habitats and killed many animals. His empathy for the life around him caused him to cry and wail uncontrollably as as an infant he didnt fully grasp what he was feeling. On tantrums such as that, his parents recorded gusts of wind blowing about the room, knocking over pillows and other light objects.

Now 10 years old, Byron has yet to fully display his powers since his infant hood. He practices gymnastics after school and spends his time at the gym with his parents keeping watch. Occasionally he senses the state of the world around him but passes it off as nothing more than a feeling, intuition if you will. One night while practicing his high bars, Byron swung up and grazed the bar, missing his grip, and falling downwards. Feaar struck deep within him as he went hurtling down, and for the first time in a long time, a gust of wind began to kick up beneath him, swirling and holding him in place as it gently let him down. His parents stood there in both wonder and horror, now fully realizing their child was a mutant and not wishing the community to treat him poorly.

General History:

After the events of the gymnastics awakening, his parents feared that they would be unfit to raise their child, not knowing how to help him maintain control over them. They began to search for any clues or hints as to potential mutant teachers, shamans, sorcereresses, or priests that could help their child grow in the way he should naturally. They caught wind of a village priestess who was said to not only posses magic of her own, but also to have helped a child similar to Byron. Deciding he was worth the risk, the family drove the two day journey up to Kenya to meet with this Priestess Ainet and see what she could do for them.

Ainet confirmed what theyd heard about another child, but that was long ago. She offered them shelter in her Village so long as they needed, as well as lessons to help Byron control his outbursts of powers. From that moment on, his family would move to the village in Kenya to meet with Ainet, keeping Byron homeschool and having him practice Gymnastics on the weekends, and spending the weekday afternoons with his mutant tutor. This went on for some time until he caught a fever. The village was not fully equipped to handle such an illness and did what they could to help young Byron. As his temperature spiked, so too did the air in the surrounding areas. Heat began to take the village as some huts caught fire, the land dried up, and many villagers fell due to heat stroke.

Once the fever subsided, two villagers had already fallen dead due to the conditions. All though many took sympathy towards the child, they felt unsafe with how temperamental his abilities could be. Ainet, taking her village into account, offered to train the boy away from her village. However his parents refused, thanking her for all the help she has given and deciding not to risk others lives again. Dread began to fill the family as now they didnt know where to go, that is until they heard about the X-Men. America contained a group of mutant heros who all knew how to control and use their powers for good. So the trip to Washington D.C. was made, in hopes to have Byron learn from them, and attend their school if they had any.

Byron is now 28, his parents had moved back to Durban to be with his grandparents and family, and he spends his time working, practicing his gymnastics, and reading comic books. He always seemed to miss Xavier whenever he made an appearance. Then again, high profile mutants tended to be hard to reach. No, Byron was content with staying in America with his job, apartment, and comics of daring heros, waiting for the chance to be a part of something bigger.

How did you discover your powers: Anastasia learned about her powers very early on in life. When she was a little girl, her parents would often have staff look over her and Peyton started off using charm to get what she wanted until the nannies started getting fusier. Then she had to up the ante. Being able to swing them to allow her ice cream for dinner and late night movie marathons was innocent enough, but as her power grew, she wanted more and more and not even her parents could stand in her way.

General History: The Reinhardt family was old money from well before WWI. Generation after generation fell into the family business. Anastasia was the youngest, and only, daughter and a lot was placed on her shoulders. Her family was often busy and not around to see their child brought up. No, they left that to the staff. Anastasia wanted for very little, but she still wanted.

It wasn't long that Anastasia discovered she had unique abilities. She knew she could charm the dimmest of staff, but her strict nanny was not to be swayed. Instead, Anastasia found herself going into the deep center of the woman's mind and shifting things around. What was bad for her was now good. Ice cream for dinner, staying up way past bed time, and no more hideous piano lessons.

Soon though, Anastasia grew bored. She was able to get away with a lot. She got good grades in school (before you ask, no she actually did study and did well), but for fun she would play around with other people. Bullies got their commuppance, bratty girls got punished, and their overbearing mothers found themselves at odds with the law on more than one occasion. And best of all, no one was the wiser to her.

Still, she sought more. The struggle between mutants and humans was interesting. People feared beings like her and that pleased her. Did she side with those like her or did she hide? Or did she walk the middle line, aware that she could very well tip the scale in either favor without so much as batting an eye? She decided to seek out the leaders, those who could use someone like her, and see what their offer was.

Jack is known to be a caring individual, no matter what happens really. He tends to show most of this towards his older half-brother Casper, in trying to keep him out of trouble to the best of his abilities. Though he takes all of this in stride, and despite how grim things seem to be for the group of sorts, he always keeps a lighthearted tone, trying to make those around him laugh whenever possible.

When it comes to the way he acts, and because of the way he was raised, he is a bit on the flirtatious side, not hesitating to flirt with anyone if it helps him to get what he wants or needs. Whether it's information or any sort of thing like that, he likely can con someone into helping them. This is also helped by his adaptability, since he is use to potentially wearing many different faces when it comes to things, so he tends to be adaptable in most situations. How did you discover your powers: Jack was younger than most when he discovered what his powers were. He was about 6 or so years old, when he was running around outside, playing. His pant leg got caught on a bush, but he didn't think much of it, whenever that happened, he generally just could pull at his pant leg and break free from the brush. However, this time around, that didn't happen, at all. Instead he had this weird feeling in his leg, and when he looked his leg had been stretched out, much much farther than should have been possible. As he learned more about his powers, he learned that aside from just stretching and things like that, he was able to morph his features to resemble the look of just about anyone he wanted to.

General History:

Jack spent much of his childhood travelling between two homes, since his father was only in the picture part of the time, though his mother wasn't too much better about it. He was the youngest of four, but he was the only kid who had a different father then the other 3, so he did feel like a bit of an outcast in the family, but it didn't really matter too much to him, as long as he had some fun with his life. For half of his childhood, he lived at the Xavier Institute, as his mother was constantly doing work and moving around, so she left all her kids with the older children's father, Charles Xavier. Though during the summers, he went off to go live with his father, and he loved the summertime because of it. His father was a bit of a con artist, and Jack learned from a young age how powerful ones words could be if said in the right way.

He grew up somewhat close with his half-brother Casper, and hated what Xavier basically did to him. When he was 10 years old, because of the incident that happened with Casper, the family was moved down to New Orleans, far far away from Xavier's mansion. He did still spend time with his own father, and as he grew older, he even helped him out on a few of his father's jobs. When it was discovered that Jack could morph to look like just about anyone, his father used that to their advantage when it came to a job, and he didn't really mind it.

When Jacques became an adult, he realized that maybe his father's lifestyle wasn't one he wanted to do, but he'd rather help people out, so he became a private investigator, starting his own business as soon as he was able. This was a fun job for him, and sure, it wasn't the most profitable of jobs, but he enjoyed every moment of it. Though he did sometimes use his powers to make the job easier, he rarely did, preferring for the most part his own body, and the way he was supposed to be. Though there have been some instances in the past where he's had to help Casper out, something he never was too thrilled with having to do. Jack cares about his brother and understands why he might turn to drugs, but still, it was getting to be a bit much for him.

One day, while out on a case, Jack came across the Morlocks. He was following a lead, when he found himself down below the city streets in the Morlock tunnels. The group seemed to be in need of some help or something, and he found that soon, he'd be helping the group out with supply runs. He never had to get the branded M on his head, since he could easily morph his body to get rid of it or something, and it seemed somewhat pointless to do that. Luckily, Jacques hasn't had to give up his job as a private investigator, though this is a bit of an argument among a few of the Morlocks. His argument has always been that they shouldn't steal everything that they come across, since it might get a bit suspicious if that was happening constantly and it could eventually lead people down to the tunnels. So he uses his income to help pay for some things, but he isn't above using his skills as a con man o help steal more expensive things.

Personality: Casper is many things, but at the end of the day he is oddly (and sometimes disturbingly) lovable. He's difficult to stay mad at for extended periods of time. He also has a great sense of humor and excellent comedic timing, which no doubt helps with his charm. His life appears to be a constant party.

Of course, beyond the almost ditzy behavior inspired by his addiction, Casper is manipulative, deceptive, cunning, and intelligent. He is excellent at keeping secrets, managing to shut out even those who care about him from what is going on in his life with ease. When he meets people, he is able to manipulate situations to his advantage, even hurting himself in the process to sell whatever story is needed to get what he wants. If he wasn't so obsessed with getting high, he would be an incredibly dangerous and powerful mutant.

How did you discover your powers: Casper was at his father's mansion, after spending a week with his mother. He was still smiling widely, remembering the fun they had had at a carnival - how his mom had bought him all the cotton candy he could have possibly wanted. Hardly seven years old, Casper was running through the hallways, holding a toy airplane in one hand as he made sound effects.

At the end of one of the hallways, he saw a man with a brown jacket. He looked a little funny to Casper, not realizing at first what was wrong with him. When Casper noticed that he was covered in blood and not jam as he had initially assumed, the little boy screamed and ran to his father's office. It turned out that Casper had seen the ghost of a mutant named Morph who blamed Casper's father for him losing his life.

General History: Casper's mother, a mutant called Renegade, was a member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants. She had an affair with the renowned geneticist and mutant rights activist, Charles Xavier - a long lasting affair that resulted in Casper and his two older siblings, David and Valentine. They lived with their father practically year round, since his mother's job wasn't safe and she didn't want her children anywhere near Magneto and the others. His older siblings proved to be mentally unstable however and they were sent to an asylum run by a former student of Xavier's who might be able to help them. They never returned to the Mansion.

However, Casper wasn't completely alone. His roommate during the school year was his half-brother, Jack. He loved his little brother, stealing extra snacks and toys to share with him whenever he could. They played Star Wars and Army and other games of pretend on the grounds of the Mansion. But since Jack had a different father, he would go home for the summers and leave Casper alone. Not very many students stayed at the Institute year round his age and Casper's father was cold and distant to him. He would push the little boy to extremes that no children should have had to go through, all in the name of making him live up to his full potential.

This arrangement ended when Casper was 13 due to the Mausoleum Incident. His father, deciding that Casper wasn't trying hard enough with his powers and wanting him to get over his fear of ghosts, locked him in a Mausoleum for a week. He was given food and water, but otherwise had no contact with the outside world. Casper screamed and cried the entire time, begging to be let out and to have the nightmare end. When his mother found out, that was it - she pulled her two sons out of Xavier's school and moved the family to New Orleans, but the damage to Casper's psyche would impact the rest of his life.

In New Orleans, Casper turned to drugs in order to manage his powers. He didn't want to see ghosts, feeling paralyzing fear and dread whenever they turned up. The drugs somehow managed to keep them out, except for a persistent few but they usually didn't stick around much. And with his mother constantly being busy with Brotherhood activities, there wasn't really anyone around to stop him. He dropped out of high school after his best friend, Ben, was murdered by Purifiers. Ben's ghost was the only one whose presence never scared him and Ben has been haunting him almost constantly since his death.

Casper's life hasn't really changed much since then. He's homeless and doesn't have any stable relationships. He's an addict and is constantly looking for his next high, not stability.

How did you discover your powers: Luna grew-up in a lighthouse. Do you see where this is going? Anyways, she loved the oceans sounds, the views and of course the animals. There was plenty of space to grow and run around for a child of the famous Captain Britain. She was walking along the rocks that acted as a breaker for the waves when she slipped on a particularly slippery one and fell. She screamed, loudly but no one heard her due to the roaring waves. She thought of her father and cried out to him over and over while the waves pulled her under. A telepathic wave went out and Brain Braddock heard his daughter immediately before coming to her rescue. It was the summer of her tenth year so in the fall she was sent to Xavier’s school for Gifted Youngsters to be trained up first by him before Luna came back home six years later and was trained by her father.

General History: Luna Elizabeth Braddock was born to Brian Braddock and Meggan Puceanu-Braddock in Cornwall on February 28. The day was rather unremarkable but the child born was anything but. She had an aptitude for anything mechanical and knew how to put things together before she was walking. Although she didn’t show any signs of mutant ability until she was several years older, she was the apple of her parents eyes.
Luna grew up with her father and mother coming and going, kicking ass and taking names all around the world and within other worlds. She loves her parents, her family name and everything that it stands for. She pushes herself a bit more because of that name, feeling she has to live up to that very name and anything less than perfect is unacceptable. Her first ten years of her life were pretty normal, besides the extraordinary parents.
Growing up Luna developed a love of music and dance. She loved the ballet and would constantly beg her mother to take her to the royal ballet. She was eventually enrolled into a ballet school and she would practice day and night, including roping her father into helping her practice some. Dance soon became her outlet. To this day if she hears a Fleetwood Mac song it'll switch her mood entirely and she'll break out all the dance moves.
When she was sent to America she was rather upset. Being an only child, she was rather attached to her parents and that way of life but her father convinced her and kept her calm, so off to boarding school she went. She was also promised that after a year or two, once she had her powers under basic control she would be allowed to resume her dancing career. Luna excelled in some classes and others not so much but she never stopped pushing herself to do better. She was her own worst critic but it always paid off. She had friends and she had enemies like most children do with special abilities. Luna’s sarcasm grew within this school and a ‘take-no-bullshit’ attitude as well. This is when she also learned that some attention is nice, wanted even but the full attention of a crowd was very much unwanted.
After six years of full time education, Luna returned to her home in Cornwall England where she began training with her father and mother. She enjoyed this much more and discovered her enhanced speed ability here. People in England knew more of her and her family so most times to get away from the media, she would simply run away and she soon developed the love of running for leisure and escape. She often would go with her parents on missions. More good will missions than actual crime fighting ones but Luna enjoyed it all the same and became a proverbial princess in her own right. However, Luna was growing board with the same routine day in and day out and although she loves her home and her family, she decided to go back to America. It helped that Xavier made a phone call, telling her of a secret underground group of mutants that could use a fresh pair of hands. Luna was surprised that was all that was required and not some large some of money. Still, it would be new scenery, new faces and a new routine.
Luna still actively dances although she is no longer in a dance school. You can catch her if she gets alone time, practicing her ballet moves, jazz and lyrical. It's a good discipline and can really help her focus if she's feeling a little scattered.

How did you discover your powers: When Cayden was fourteen, he experienced his first death and a rough heartbreak. Having been raised mostly by his grandmother, her tragic passing caused an epic meltdown. When people were trying to consol Cayden, he screamed at them, shifted a couple steps and pushed them off with a fair amount of power. So much so that he knocked one out and threw a couple back with inhuman force. Shortly after this, Cayden started experiencing night terrors. It took him awhile but he discovered this was his first take at Dream Walking and he was seeing his father’s nightmares and other people’s dreams.

General History: Cayden’s birth was not an easy one. He was born under an unusually bright full moon. His mother died during the birth and Cayden was raised by his widowed father and fraternal grandmother. His father had a difficult time raising a son that reminded him much of his late wife everytime he looked at Cayden. His father turned to drinking and thus started a vicious cycle. Growing up on a reservation, Cayden had the basics but with his father’s inability to raise him, he was limited to some things but his grandmother was a strong woman and pushed Cayden every step of the way. He was raised with strong feminine influences and thus grew to be a very respectful boy, despite his father’s teaching methods.
As Cayden grew, his father became more aggressive and demanding. Beatings were not uncommon in the Proudstar household and at age eight, Cayden received a major head injury when his father pushed him with his own Enhanced Strength and he hit the wall in their living room. After this Cayden stayed glued to his grandmother until her death. Cayden developed his mutant powers at this time but had to figure out his abilities on his own. His father was of very little help but Cayden never left.
With values instilled on him by his grandmother, he became a jack of all trades around the reservation he lived on. He worked for food rather than money and for stories. There was a lot of history with his culture and he thrived on the otherness of it. This is where he developed a specific taste of music (and baking ability). The raw meanings, the haunting sounds. The words were poetry too him and were the things that helped keep him positive and always upbeat.
As the public became aware of mutants, the reservation he grew on became dangerous. They were protected by basic laws but for the most part, the government would turn a blind eye to anything that happened on the reservation. Cayden got wind of a group of mutants in Arizona, a faction of the Underground and he would go and offer his services there. Here he learned more skills so that he could protect his people; even his abusive father. Despite it all, he still loved his father.
In 2019, the Underground on the East coast of America grew more exciting and violent and this is where Cayden’s journey East began. He went with a group of friends, leaving his only home and finally his father. It was a simple goodbye, nothing more was needed. Once arriving in New York, they didn’t have much downtime and were accepted readily. Within this year there was an incident with mutant haters which caused many of the people Cayden traveled with to die tragically. He floated for awhile, not sure what to do or where to go when he got wind of the Underground in Washington D.C. Having now adapted the lifestyle of a floater or gypsy, Cayden packed up his little belongings and moved on to the next adventure.
